Needless to say what a beautiful game it is as everybody keep saying here. This is how a game with a movie-like experience should be unlike the order 1886 or quantum break. Period.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Uncharted 4 is undoubtedly the most well crafted game in the series, however it lacks the set pieces that the series is known for

Story:the story is easily the best in the series, however it does make some plotholes in the series. Such as marlowe not mentioning sam when she was going through drake's history. the villain(s) (rafe and nadine) are the best in the series. However rafe not letting nadine go at the end of the game made no sense since he would have gotten more of the treasure for himself which ultimately led to his death. Speaking of that the death of rafe isn't as brutal or as cool as the previous villain deaths in the series (having treasure fall on him). And as shockign as rafe revealing that he freed sam i still don't know why didn't nate just look up hector alcazar or the prison breakout overall the story is a 9.5/10

Gameplay:The shooting is much improved and the hand to hand combat is very satisfying. However as good as the gameplay is it is set aside for storytelling and character development. The game lacks the set pieces that the series is known for,for example in uncharted 2 you have a helicopter chase, jump out of a falling building, climb up a train,go through a train, escape from security guards however in uncharted 4 you just escape a collapsing tower and fall down a tower so overall i give it an 9/10

Sound/music :good as ever however it isn't very intense overall it's a 9/10

Graphics:Phenomenal amazing the facial animations, the lighting, the graphics the enviroments amazing 10/10

overall:it is either the best or the second best in the series so the final score is a 9.3/10

The game would have been a perfect 10 if not for the pacing issues especially on Act 3 of the single player campaign. The story is a tad bit predictable but neatly wraps up Nathan Drake's story in a memorable way. Loved the game.

A mixture of aesthetically map and story design influence from the previous games; the plane, the boat, caves, water diving, stones, treasure collectibles etc. Nathan drake, Samuel Drake, and Victor Sullivan go on the hunt for Henry Avery’s 400 million dollar lost pirate treasure, but first they must find the lost Island of Pirate utopia. The Game tells more narrative story, puzzle cyphering then actual action gameplay, however their is still a lot of action in the game just not as much Uncharted 2 Among Thieves and Uncharted 3 Drake’s Deception. The Game is more in the likeness of Drake’s Fortune when talking about mood for the game. With saying that their is a much more narrative story then Drake’s fortune and other 2 releases which is a good thing. On the gameplay side the new aim lock target is very awesome, in which the cursor is bigger and more hardened when locked and as usually lights up red when locked and ready for fire. The game also has picture mode so you as the player can now take in game framed pictures of Drake, even though we have the share factory on PS4 it’s still a great feature by hitting down on the sticks and capturing to just share your photo instantly. The Maps are big ranging from 40 minutes to 1 hour and 15 minutes and the campaign has a prologue, 22 chapters, and a epilogue chapter going into the future years after the final chapter. All and All Uncharted 4 was the game i was waiting for and I’m thrilled with the results. I do believe this is the final chapter in Nathan Drake’s Career and the end of a generation but it went off in a bang. Thank You Naughty Dog for another brilliant story. 9.9/10 Expand

The story is not quite as powerful as The Last of Us but it's still miles better than 99% of other games. I will be selling my copy on now that I've completed it, but it's well worth the ride- basically it's another really well-made 15 hour movie you play through. You don't need to have played the previous games but it will make it more meaningful if you do- although sitting through all of them back to back would be too much. I would recommend getting the Nathan Drake collection, playing through those at your own pace and then waiting a while and getting this when it's a bit cheaper. Expand

A great movie, but still, less interactive than I would like. A few of the missions felt like I had not actually played anything during them, and instead just watched a movie. It is like a Metal Gear Solid game, but the cutscenes make sense and are really interesting and engaging. So, I'm really enjoying this piece of entertainment, but it is in a different way than I'd expected. Still well worth the price, as everything is in the top notch of quality, and the content duration is akin to a 3-6 part movie series, gameplay aside. My favorite part of the gameplay is the puzzle solving, something I also really enjoyed in the previous games. There are few experiences to be had in gaming like this one, and I can wholeheartedly recommend it. Expand

There are a few annoying things that naughty dog hasn't ironed out of this game. Like their previous games, they often rely on slowing the player down by trapping them and forcing them to look for boxes to stand on. It gets a little old. The hints are useless and annoying and once activated never stop flashing on the screen, which can become infuriating since they don't help and repeat things the NPCs are also saying repeatedly. Just turn off hints. Look it up if you're that stuck. And finally, the dialogue can get pretty cheesy and some of the twists are a bit predictable. These are all minor complaints that dont detract to much from the game but keep it from reaching 10/10.

Uncharted 4 is a great game. It has it's own flaws in terms of repetitive gameplay but for me this the best game in the series. The graphics and level design are amazing. Sure, you can beat the game in 20 hours, but you can easily spend another 20 hours exploring the world around you. Not just searching for collectibles, but looking at the details, enjoying the views and making screenshots. This game is one the most beautiful games I've played in my life (another being Witcher 3). I'm still half way through the story, so I might update my score later, but so far it's looks interesting, with a lot of great characters. Lots of improvements compared to U3.

The swan song that the franchise deserves, Uncharted 4 wraps up Nathan's story as well as answers questions that long time fans have been asking over the years. A bitter-sweet end to one of my favorite action adventure games, but one that left me satisfied with an ending that I'm grateful for.

In Uncharted 4 we find an aging Nathan who has retired from his treasure hunting day job along with now wife: Elaina Fisher. Since the events from Uncharted 3, the two have given up on the danger and adventure for a life of legitimacy. It quickly becomes clear that Nate's "adventures" working in salvage can't quite replace uncovering the riches of the world's most legendary treasures. So when Nate's brother Sam shows up after being presumably dead for the last 15 years, and explains that he can only regain his freedom with the treasure of 17th century pirate, Henry Avery, the two set out for one final adventure.

The attention to detail and mastery of lighting here is ridiculous
Everything in this game is in real time.
Uncharted 4 is a masterpiece in that it's currently the best looking game I have seen on the Playstation 4 thus far. Much like my initial reaction to Naughty Dog's The Last of Us from a few years back, Uncharted 4 is now the game to beat in terms of graphic fidelity on the Playstation 4. From its minute details in vegetation; the effect that wind and water have on hair-and-clothing; to the pores on Nate's face, the attention to detail in this game is phenomenal. As expected, there are still plenty of set pieces to show off here with dynamic backdrops, living environments, and elaborate level designs. With a cast of cautious and matured characters, the game is grounded in a more realistic aesthetic. This shifts the game to a more serious tone rather than the lighthearted feel of the series's first three games. With a more serious approach, I felt it easier to empathize with Nate and the predicament he finds himself in. Nate is at a crossroads, and must make some very difficult choices concerning his life and the people he cares about.

Variety seems to be the theme among Uncharted 4's mechanics. You are encouraged to switch between play styles in not only combat but while making your way through the chapter as well. For many players in previous installments, melee combat became mashing square to attack followed by mashing triangle to counter-attack. Rinse and repeat to clear virtually any area of enemies (difficulty willing of course) creating a stagnant experience. Instead, you are told to roll out of attacks DarkSouls style, mashing triangle only when grabbed. This change alone opens up combat for a more varied play-style, encouraging quick changes between melee attacks, gunfire, and now more opportunity for stealth maneuvers. New items are introduced to Nate's arsenal as well, adding depth and variety not only to combat, but to traversal. Combined with seamless transitions between animations, the result is fluid and fast paced gameplay with your choice of how to approach your target.

With the addition of the grappling hook and the piton, or pick, comes new ways to get around through the game's many environments. This often results in multiple routes to the end goal depending on your play-style. These items also add a new layer of depth to the game's puzzles and trials. Stealth is now a valid option for clearing large portions of chapters if you choose. Nate has no problem sneaking around or diving behind crates and walls to quietly take out foes with refined controls reminiscent from The Last of Us. Your partner's AI capability is also carried over here aiding you in combat, they will even take out a foe or two quietly if it means they are close to blowing your cover. To further aid in stealth, tall patches of grass were added, allowing Nate to keep low and quickly sneak past groups of enemies unseen. This doesn't slow Nate down or break the pace of combat as much as you may think as this mechanic was clearly designed with Nate's speed and agility in mind.

    What would Drake say?
What would Drake say in this situation?
Despite its deserved praise, unfortunately no game is without flaws. A feature that I was looking forward to was the idea of player choice within dialogue. The feature is used four times: three times in the beginning of the game; with the fourth within an optional conversation and then seemingly abandoned with no difference in outcome, story, or gameplay. The addition of player choice or even multiple endings would have been a nice break from the familiar linear progression we are used to in the Uncharted franchise. Without

    Pros:
    1. Graphics, awesome, just plain nice, every screen, very detailed work there.
    2. Story line is complete, and from this episode, we finally KNOW Nathan Drake, the whole character is finally complete. And most important, Naughty Dog is always good at making dilemmas, whatever in the character decisions or relations, we have known this in the Last of Us for the decisions that Joe made. This time, a new dilemma, Sam. This guy is not a good guy but also not bad. To Nathan at least for now I played, he's the big brother, to Sam, Nathan is the only one that he can trust, but look at what he brought to his beloved brother, almost annihilation to his life, is Sam revenging Nathan for his leaving in Panama? Let's see.
    3. Shooting aiming assist improved a lot, someone may think it's like cheat (similar to GTA5), for me, it's definitely big leap ahead, I can focus on story, action and tactic stuff, not my clumsy aiming skills.
    4. Action phase is more intense, and character model react to environment got a lot improvement, comparing to The Last of Us. Everything is just so smooth, you felt that is Nathan's world and he was there.
    5. The sound track, intense or soft, perfect melt in.

    Cons:
    1. Still some little bugs there, if no clue, you may need to restart checkpoint or just die and reload again, not big ones.
    2. Not fully open world game actually, I consider GTA5 and Far Cry as open world games, which means the entire map will be loaded once and for all time, UC4 is like partial open world, some of the chapter will have a open world map but not all the chapters.
    3. Sometimes the action parts are too much cinematic and dramatic, which makes you feel a little bit fake.

Anyway, Naughty Dog did a very good job again, its games basically are the reasons that I dived into SONY's consoles, and it's worth it. Way to go and well done.

From Nate and Elena's cluttered home, full of interactive trinkets collected from previous adventures, to the wholly believable relationships with the other cast of characters (acted to absolute perfection), this game hits a more personal note than previous entries. Considering performance, the game is impeccable. The presentation, acting (again), score, and visuals are all some of the best I've ever witnessed in the medium. The only thing holding me from giving the game a 10 is its pacing. It's paced extremely well for the most part, but there are segments that can tend to drag a bit. This may be intentional, as Naughty Dog is obviously trying to convey a more reserved and reluctant hero. Regardless, this is an exceptional experience, a tour dé force in interactive storytelling, and a fitting end to arguably the most well-known and loved cast of characters in the entire Playstation library. Seeing the characters that I have spent nearly 10 years with on screen again is a bittersweet joy as this may be the last time they appear in an Uncharted game (Sony will undoubtedly continue the franchise sans Drake)

The gameplay has seen a vast improvement over past games as well, cover and shooting feels great and the traversal mechanics are even better and more fluid. Having recently replayed the Nathan Drake collection on PS4 it's immediately apparent how much Naughty Dog has learned from and improved upon those games as well as from The Last of Us. There are issues, I've had a couple of moments where the AI has walked into walls etc and there are more than a few frustrating combat encounters where the game balance feels unfair but nothing has detracted from my experience to the point where I've wanted to stop playing. I feel like the sliding mechanic is a bit over used as well and while the grapple hook is an excellent addition to the game, it sort of makes you wonder why Nathan never brought it along in his past adventures, especially since it's used in an earlier flashback so it's not like it was a new concept to him.

I've also played a little of the Multiplayer and while as per previous games it is just a light distraction from the main game, I have had a lot of fun - me and my Sister have enjoyed many hours in the multiplayer in Uncharted 3 and I think the same will prove true of this game as well. I've seen some people complaining about the way appearance items are given out, while the whole micro-transactions thing is getting a little old now I don't think this is any worse than how a game like Team Fortress gives out items and I think it's quite a cool way to keep people playing the game, I've only played a few matches but I've already unlocked a couple of new characters and some amusing accessories.

All in all I am having a great time with Uncharted 4, it feels to me like an excellent send off for he franchise. But I can't say I'm not completely unbiased as a fan of the series but I thought I'd give my opinion on the game.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. 9/10 would be my final, and honest, rating for this amazing game. I finished it yesterday and I have to say that it is probably my favorite Uncharted game with U2 really close in 2nd place. People who are posting "0's" for this game have either had a momentarily mental lapse in judgement or are just being horribly bias towards this sony exclusive. That is what's wrong with the user scores for game's like this because people justify their outrageously high or low score because they feel like the other reviews didn't justify their own opinion. Listen to the critic scores with this one because there is just an immature flaming party going on here...
Anyways, This game had just about everything you would come to expect from an uncharted series and more but I felt like it suffered a but from the main director being replaced. She had a style for these games that was apparent in the past installments but is nearly absent here. Sorry, trying to be vague not to spoil anything. If you guys really enjoyed U1-3 go buy this now because it's unforgettable or you can just wait until Tomb Raider 3 will come out and borrow even more concepts making it merely just a clone of U4.

First 3/4 never a dull moment, superb narrative and action, not to mention breath taking suprises in the story, action and all round gameplay. By the end tho, I thought it was great, but not as great as I was expecting on playing the first 3/4. Best thing about this game is the production design naughty dog have at their desposal....

    - deutsche Audiospur manchmal leise
    - zwei bekannte Charaktere haben keinen Auftritt

    Meine Punkte: 92/100
    In Ratingform: 9/10

By the end of the game, I felt in retrospect though that the pacing created the most memorable entry in the series where you can play it through again and really pick up every small detail. The only other game in the series I played multiple times through was UC2 and this one was much more captivating. Some of the negative reviews (beyond the troll posts and the 0 ratings which are worthless for accurate reviews) might also be due to this pacing issue where it did feel labourious at times trudging through some of the levels, but the level of detail and work that went into this is truly phenomenal. There are many good games which excel at fast gameplay or one liners, but this game portrayed a degree of realism and grit which was not present before in the series. Overall its a great fit for players that enjoy nuance, explorable scenes and a level of detail that creates a feeling of immersion. The soundtrack is also quite good and I recommend playing with a good set of headphones. Expand

For those of us that have been along from the beginning, the (supposed) final chapter should come as a fitting - though unexpected - conclusion, thanks in large part to a refreshing staff change behind the scenes. If, like me, you were wondering how an adventurous rascal reconciles the mundane world of employment, bills and marriage versus bullets, travel and treasure; here you go.

There's little to review here that veterans won't already expect: climbing, gunplay, exploration, cut-scenes (not necessarily in that order.) Instead, the devils in the details. Visually the game is sumptuously decorated, careful to dish out ever-increasing levels of eye candy from chapter to chapter, all the more impressive considering no load times beyond the initial. Certain chapters open up the level, giving you a vehicle, and letting you roam at your leisure, helping to offset the relatively linear nature of the series.

Gunplay feels familiar and, in many instances, can be bypassed altogether with stealth and patience. Ground foliage dotted throughout provide plenty of opportunities to snap necks incognito. Areas of confrontation have been opened up horizontally and vertically, with many an enemy above and below to contend with, driven by smarter, more aggressive tactics. The inclusion of a Grappling Hook helps to balance this by providing more options for mobility, and capable AI companions will help you out in times of need.

Helmed by Neil Druckmann (The Last of Us), the story unfolds at its own pace, not afraid to holster the guns for a time in order to establish character and relationships. Whilst a well-worn structure is still adhered to: travel to new country, locate ruin, decipher clue to next location, rinse and repeat -- the higher stakes this time round help to propel us forward nonetheless, managing to juggle the more serious tone alongside the constant, light-hearted quipping.

Length will vary based on difficulty and time spent exploring but, in my opinion, falls a little too long, much like many games and movies -- a debate for another time.

Multiplayer is a blast: easy to get into, plenty of unlocks and frantic slices of mayhem. Connection issues are a problem, but there are also trials to keep you occupied that help introduce you to the mechanics and resources at your disposal during the down times.

And that's it. A gorgeous Indiana Jones style romp through various locales in pursuit of pirate booty. An easy purchase.

As an aside, choose crushing difficulty at your peril--you will be tested.

Lush green environments, gorgeous landscapes and realistic looking character models: this is probably the best looking game I've ever played on any platform. The environments urge you to explore everything and during cut scenes I forgot I was playing a game as the surrounds and the characters looks life like, as if was actual people not cgi models. Many reviews about other games may have this comment about advancing the boundaries of video visuals but usually they off just enough to make you realise it's a game or enters the uncanny valley where you're at unease, therefore knowing this isn't real. A lot of the time with this game however I saw the characters as plausible actors playing out scenes in live action being filmed in real settings not all cgi and none of it off putting-ly realistic like Until dawn.

The voice acting cast is on top form with Nolan North bringing the same quality and charm he always has as Nate as well as Troy Baker coming into the franchise for the first time nailing it as Drake's brother. The emotion in clearly apparent with mo-cap technology allowing the voice actors to express facial how they're feeling gives the character further depth than ever before.

Nothing much new is brought to the table with Uncharted 4's gun play and parkour aside from the rope, which is perfectly implemented into the traversing of each area, and what I can only describe as a climbing spike, which is nice but seems like an afterthought. The mechanics and physics feel more polished than ever before but no change overall since Uncharted 2.

The story is good but admittedly feels the same to all the others. If you didn't know already, Nathan is now retired from the treasure hunting life and is now trying to settle into a tamer life with his wife, Elena, two years after the events of Uncharted 3. This is when his brother, Sam, shows up on at his office door looking for help and drags back into the treasure hunting scene. Although this entry does poke some plot holes into the previous installments with Nate having a brother, it does provide a satisfying end to Nate's thieving life.

However, is it a perfect game? No. The only gripe is with it is its ps4 exclusivity as it's a game everyone should play but not one to buy a ps4 over unless you've played the other games. It's one for the fans rather than a starting point to jump into the franchise. It's too self contained with its characters so a new comer wouldn't understand most of the relationships to their core unlike series veterans, a part from everyone's with Sam as he's only in this game, which forces the game not to be perfect as you can't jump in this game blind. As a player, you need to have played from drake's fortune to understand the weight behind these characters decisions. Thankfully there's the Nathan Drake collection which remedies this but still means an additional cost to fully appreciate this game.

So, is this gonna be the game of the year? It certainly looks like it: its cinematic storytelling and refined gameplay other 4 games just makes this a wonder on the eyes and a marvel to play, Uncharted 4 is worth getting as a visual experience above all else.

    *** The good:
Outstanding graphics, several scenes where massive destruction of the environment is involved, great sound effects, frantic QTE's and helpful NPC's. Many unlocks and treasures to discover and massive maps to explore and alternate paths to take, making it the vastest Uncharted game to date.

    *** The bad:
As short as every other Uncharted, it leaves you with cravings for more, as the campaign can be finished in about 8 to 10 hours of gameplay. The story, although emotional, feels cliché at many points. Even when they have fixed some parkour issues, there are still some problems with edge detection. And even when the strong point of Uncharted is the campaign, the multiplayer mode feels too casual and forgettable.

    *** Final comment:
This game is a must for all Uncharted fans out there, and a great addition to the saga. As usual, it's a great example of what the console is capable of doing. The details are numerous and look so smooth you may not even notice they're there. The game is graphically stunning as the environments are enormous.
The multiplayer feels a little bland, although you can spend several hours improving your skills and weapons for additional fun, the maps fall short of variety. If you're new to the saga, although it's not a must, it's recommended you play the first 3 games before trying this one so you understand all the details of the game and the story.

Although it's not perfect, it's an awesome game and as any good book or movie, a collection item.

That doesn't mean that the game isn't varied on it's own.

It's taking place is varied landscapes in different all beautifully crafted locations. Touchin multiple continents and climates. The scenery will definately not bore you.

There are basically 2 story lines. Mild spoilers ahead i do try to keep them at a minimum.

The main one is basically help your brother which is in or getting into trouble.
This i find rather bland from a story perspective but it is very well executed there are plot twists which i surely didn;t care about. The plot twist doesn't change the direction nor the relations between characters. Which is rather odd.

Where the main story does really well is the delivery. Voice acting is on point, Facial expressions by far the best i've ever seen in any game. Just a glance is enough to tell the underlining emotions.

The second story is the on pirate captain avery. Which you will backtrack in order to find his treasure.
This story is very interesting. But it's delivered by clues hidden notes left corpses and most of it is in the last parts of the game. I don;t wanna spoil this just make sure you pay attention from Act 14 ish

It is probably the best action adventure of all time. So why didn't i give it a 10/10?
Well it doesn't do anything new or refreshing. It was very safe.
However the execution was pretty much perfect. performance, visuals, acting. the production value is quad A. Certainly a cut above the rest. But it sure doesn't win any originality contests.

Is it a masterpiece. Well from a technical standpoint without any doubt.
Should you buy it? Well if you own a PS4 you wanna see what this puppy can do right?
So just brace yourself and enjoy the ride.

Naughty Dog has a long history with the action-adventure genre, and with the latest installment in the Uncharted series, their tenure and experience with this style of game really shows. This is easily the best entry in the series thus far. With engaging characters and fantastic set-pieces, Naughty Dog didn’t disappoint for our last adventure with Nathan Drake. Every segment felt polished,Naughty Dog has a long history with the action-adventure genre, and with the latest installment in the Uncharted series, their tenure and experience with this style of game really shows. This is easily the best entry in the series thus far. With engaging characters and fantastic set-pieces, Naughty Dog didn’t disappoint for our last adventure with Nathan Drake. Every segment felt polished, important and intentional, it was refreshing to play a game where something wasn’t just thrown in to be filler. Your companions throughout your adventure also don’t feel like dead-weight, often being surprisingly helpful, whether it’s spotting enemies for you or occasionally lending you a helping hand like throwing a punch when an enemy has you in an arm-bar. Also with tons of extra un-lockable audio, visual, and game play modifiers there’s tons of replay value here for a single-player focused game.
From beginning to end, Naughty Dog does an excellent job of introducing characters, old and new, in such a way a new player to the franchise wouldn’t feel lost or out of place in the story. Meanwhile, there’s a ton of character development for players who have been with Nathan since the first installment to feel engaged and want to see what happens next in the story, and they’ve littered the game with small homages and tributes to past games for attentive players to find and enjoy.
Along with new characters, they’ve introduced a few new mechanics such as a grappling hook, and off-roading sequences. Nathan’s grappling hook feels like something that should’ve always been there, not over-used and simple in its mechanics. Whether its for movement, puzzles, or that extra edge in combat to pull off a majestic swinging leap to punch a "baddy" in the face, it always feels smooth and natural.
The newly introduced off-roading segments provide an enjoyable break from the sometimes overly linear game play Uncharted is known for, while you can just go straight to the next objective. There’s also incentive to explore the beautifully crafted environments to find small ruins that contain some of the collectible treasures littered throughout Uncharted’s single-player mode.
Naughty Dog is no stranger to creating beautiful environments, whether it was the previous installments in the series or The Last of Us, they know how to create captivating yet believable set pieces. There’s always something that grabs your eye, whether it’s wildlife, or the gloriously rich foliage in the tropical locales. Every detail has carefully designed to be realistic and engaging, from the crusted dirt on the characters to the footprints left in the dirt or sand. Uncharted 4’s sound lends as much to the immersion as it’s visuals do, from the subtle sound of the ocean rolling in and out, or populated market in Madagascar, they do an incredible job of making you feel there. Everything adds a subtlety to the immersion whether it’s a slight echo while walking through a tunnel or banter between characters, nothing feels forced or out of place.
Uncharted has always been known for playing out like a good action-adventure movie and this one is no exception. Every cut-scene is masterfully executed with with brilliant voice acting and some of the best facial animation that’s been seen thus far. Every interaction between characters felt genuine, and every intense story moment had believable and authentic reactions from characters. Towards the end of the journey they didn’t feel like characters anymore but more like real people with true personality and emotion, something that wasn’t as pronounced in the previous iterations of Uncharted. And with a satisfying epilogue that leaves room for another possible entry in the series, it was still a satisfying conclusion for our journeys with Nathan Drake.
"..they didn’t feel like characters anymore but more like real people with true personality and emotion.."
While Uncharted is known for it’s beautifully crafted single-player mode, it’s multiplayer modes are nothing to scoff at. With 8 maps and 4 modes to play, there’s enough variation there to be engaging, and not too many modes so that it makes it hard to find a match. Naughty Dog has also promised that any new maps and modes will be free, following the lead of many other developers knowing that if that they don’t they would end up with a segmented player base which can easily kill the multiplayer portion of any game. With loads of character and load out customization Naughty Dog is just hitting their stride and we’re plenty excited to see what they come up with next for Uncharted multiplayer.
Uncharted 4 never seems to miss a beat with great pacing, characters and amazing set-pieces, it’s games like this that wash the bitter taste of lack-luster AAA gaming out of our mouths and gives us something to really sink our teeth into. The only shortcomings are the archaic cover system which could’ve used a re-vamp and a lack of enemy types, but this never detracted from the

The game looks wonderful the puzzles are fun and the story is interesting. All the locations, characters and themes are fantastic. I just feel like the game drags on at times and 5-10% of the climbing and shooting are almost "filler" but none the less an amazing game and nice wrap up to the Nathan Drake Uncharted series.

Uncharted once again has a very good story with great voice acting, improved gaming mechanics from the last 3 games and amazing graphics for a gaming console. A locked 30 FPS story mode for the most part and a locked 60 FPS multiplayer for the most part as well. If you have loved playing games like the Uncharted series, The Last of Us, Tomb Raider, Quantum Break, and love movies like Indiana Jones and National Treasure. Then you should enjoy this new installment in the Uncharted franchise. It's worth the $60 price tag, but if you find a deal then snatch it up.

From a Naughty Dog standpoint, I preferred The Last of Us but I find it hard to compare the two.

An important note: I had a really cool revelation when playing that I was acknowledging an NPS as an actual person. Without giving anything away, there is a character that is rather pissed at Drake. I found myself avoiding hunting for the treasure collectibles to ease his/her demeanor.

I'm excited to see what is next for Naughty Dog. I likely would've given this game a 10 if i had the nostalgia factor.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. For Nathan Drake's final outing, this was a huge one. The story takes some amazing twists and even ends in the same way as the Goonies! Gameplay-wise the shooting feels like it took a little bit from every Uncharted game and sprinkled it all in there. Gone is the shaky aiming, but every gun felt like Drake has the strength of a 12 year old firing a .45-caliber. The multiplayer is where it really shines. Every single item in the game is unlockable by simply playing. Though if you're impatient you can just spent actual money to unlock things, but with enough patience you can save the $50 bucks you'll inevitably spend on vanity gear. Again, when I say everything, I mean everything! Characters, outfits, accessories, taunts, all of it is unlockable with the "relic" currency you get for simply playing the game. One thing that's missing, though I hope they'll add was the co-op arena mode from Uncharted 3. I'd highly recommend this with the season pass as well because there is a story expansion coming as well as multiplayer expansions. Expand

The story of Nathan Drake comes to an end, after several years, he is dragged by his older brother Sam, back into the action.

    Graphics and Gameplay:

The game looks very good, with a 1080p resolution on 30 fps in Single Player and 900p with 60fps for multiplayer, as for graphics, the graphic engine that Naughty Dog uses for his Uncharted franchise has always been very good, and here we can see it at maximum power. The lighting effects had improved a lot since The Last Of Us, the shadows are great and the visuals stunning.
For the gameplay part, the game takes the classic Uncharted alpinism to a hole new level, Drake moves very accuracy to the environment and he has the Hook, wich is very usefull in combat and exploring. The shootouts are better than never, being covered with pieces of the game's soundtrack, for a real Heroic feeling. The AI in this game is the best so far in the saga, the enemies now can spot you and every one will know where you are, but you can scape and hide, so you can take them quietly if you want too. The stealth in the story work very decent and it's better than the glitchy one in The Last of Us and previous Uncharted's.
-(Negatives of the gameplay)-..There are some issues with the cover, some times when your press O to take cover, Drake stands next to the wall and he won't cover, leading to a death in the worst case scenarios...

    Story:

Moving on to the Story, it is a 16-20 hour game, you may see after you finished it that is really short, but the maps and exploration makes it a very long and great journey. The characters the we know since Uncharted Drake's Fortune, are back, and with a really depth feeling. the new ones such as Sam and the new Villains, Rafe and Nadine, makes certain parts of the story want to really watch them on scene.
The ending may not be good for a mayority of Uncharted fans, but for other it will be the right way to end this franchise with Nathan Drake.

    Multiplayer:
As for this extra, the game, like its predecessors (U2 and U3), has a fun multiplayer, that will keep you going for hours playing with your friends, the online is schedule to have several updates that will include more game modes, extra content, and more, so you can have a lots of fun.

    Verdict:

My favourite thing about this games is that they are very simple and fun. The gameplay now is perfect than ever, all of this combined with this great story and ending to the series, make it one of the best games out for PS4, and a really essential for your game collection.

You could make a movie out of this game and it would still sell millions in that type of industry. Well, to be serious, as a player who played the first 3 games of the series, this game is the perfect ending you could ever give to the legendary Nathan Drake on his adventuring games. The perfect formula to do it? Well just let him team up with his long lost older brother Sam and have them start and adventure to find the treasure they dream of getting in their childhood days. The campaign gives you a very good pace of how the story moves, from the prologue's adrenaline rush chasing to the end's somewhat relaxing and laid back tone. All in all, The guys who made The Last of Us also made another Masterpiece in Naughty Dogs. A 10/10 for sure in this aspect.

Gameplay - The game borrowed some elements from the Tomb raider series using that rope mechanic in platforming. However. Its not that really bad since the game used it in very complex areas of the game. The gameplay of the series gives you a perfect blend of various and different gameplays we all gamers experienced and played like the game Signature platforming where we accustomed to see how Drake's athleticism easily get by those many traps, there is also a shooter based mechanic, a melee combat which obviously borrowed from TLOU, Stealth, chasing sequences and exploration. As a gamer, its really nice to enjoy all that in a single game. A good 10/10 again for me.

Multiplayer - Now for me, I think Naughty Dog just put this in here so that you know, Gamers can have multiplayer in the game. Its not bad though tbh, But its not that good either. The modes could get funny sometimes and interesting but the single player campaign really is the strength of the game. An ok 8/10 for me.

    Total = 9

Sorry. Its my principle to never give a perfect score. There are no perfect games for me. Everything has a weakness even how small. Regardless, An obvious GOTY contender of the year if not THE Leading of the pack for that award. A memorable and epic experience was given to us by Naughty Dog for an ending of a beloved franchise. Its bittersweet to see this game gave its final sprint but forever in my heart will Drake's legacy will stay. Remember..."Sic Parvis Magna"

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I got this game with my PS4, and it was such a great introduction to the console. The story is amazing with so many journal entries around the game to help you further understand it. There's a great plot twist at the end of chapter 14. I don't think it's worthy of a 10 as I did encounter a few glitches, but they didn't make it unplayable. Far from it actually. The character development is really good and the characters felt like real people from the real world. I did notice that there was an absence of something supernatural like in the other games, but it's excusable. The rest of the game makes up for it. This game did appeal to me because I love grappling in games, from Just Cause to Spiderman, it's awesome. And, what do you know, Uncharted 4 has a grappling hook with excellent control on it. The combat is really good and the guns have a level of recoil that is just right on the guns. Also, I especially like how you can use guns while swinging on a rope. It's so fun to just swing out from a tower or something at spray at some people. The bonuses you get after completing the game are a really cool addition to it as it adds a lot of replay-ability. My personal favourite is the moon gravity one so enemies corpses just float off when you kill them. Now, I need to say something about the multiplayer part of it. A lot of people said that the multiplayer is absolutely awful. While it is nowhere near as good as the story, it's really not as bad as people say. It's a mediocre third person shooter. It's quite fun to play as the different characters from the main game. I have to say though, it's weird to say 5 Sully's on the same team. But anyway, a highly enjoyable game. I recommend getting it. The new stealth gameplay is also good, and the grappling hook makes the platforming even more fun.

The graphics and sound are both some of the best in the industry, and I would say that this is the best looking PS4 game. The game also as lots of collectibles which are fun to find, fun campaign modifiers such as weapons and skins and graphic filters which give it lots of replay-ability.

Lastly, the game comes with a fun and balanced multiplayer. It isn't as deep as some others such as Cod, Halo or Gears, but they have added 2 free maps and new skins and weapons since launch. The Graphics are amazing and the visual designs are fantastic, and to be honest it doesn't look like a game at all instead you get so much in to it that you feel like you are Nathan Drake and you are doing all the climbing or driving or swimming or shooting. And the Best part is that there are multiple options for you to go on the same destination and in every option you get different view and different things to explore.
This time in Uncharted there are 2 options, either start shooting and killing everyone or play smart by tagging as much enemies as you can and go in Full Stealth Mode. And Uncharted can not be Uncharted if it doesn't have puzzles to solve. Every Puzzle feel different from other and solving them makes you feel really smart.
There's so much stuff that I can say about Uncharted 4 that are amazing but there are also two Bad things about this game. First thing that I didn't liked was, when Naughty Dog reveal that you will have dialog options, I mean you only get 2 or 3 times in this whole game and those options were not even so much important and we all were thinking that it will be like telltale that you get to choose the story line. The Second thing that I didn't liked about Uncharted 4 was the ending, I mean they created so much hype that this is the last chapter for Nathan Drake and in this game He will be challenge Physically & Emotionally. Physically, Yes He was challenged but no way he was challenged Emotionally so this really bugged me.

If you have played uncharted before then, there are lots of familiar stuff here, wall climbing, stream of enemies and action packed gameplay. They are all still there. Just much more beautiful this time. This review is played on a normal PS4 + 4K HDR TV combo and the graphics is just so real that it felt like I am looking at a window. It felt like I am right there with Nathan gunning down lots and lots of henchmen. I have climbed a mountain once(and a dangerous yet satisfying one), How the developers make the gamers feel like they are climbing a mountain and how a mountain look likes, is AMAZING. It's so good, it felt like I am climbing a real mountain, and when I reach the top. Behold the beauty of Mother Nature.

The PS4 Pro version is enhanced and if you have a PRO then you'll definitely want to download the patch enhancement for the game as it would enhance this already beautiful game.

    Thief Bro

The fourth installment introduces you to Nathan's elders brother, Samuel Drake which is, like Nathan a professional Thief. His bro got into some heavy trouble with a big time Drug Lord which helped him out of Prison. He was forced to find a long lost Pirate treasure give the half of it or else he'd be dead. He got reunited with the retired Nathan, got his help and their pirate treasure hunt begins.

    Still Linear

It's still linear. You don't get to choose where to go here. But you are free to roam around and look for treasure but still, You can't do much.
A lot of Intense Gaming Moments

I am trying not to spoil you but since this is Uncharted, even if the game is linear or straight to the point. There are still lots of what the Heck moments you won't see on action movies. There are things that only Video games can do and aims to give you 100% satisfaction guaranteed.

A lot of intense and breathtaking moments. The environments feels so real, Uncharted 4 gave a new level of gaming experience so real that you'd wish Uncharted would come to Playstation VR. The controls are so natural and easy. Climbing walls, flawless. Riding a the truck, flawless. Swinging like Tarzan, Flawless. Shooting, so easy. The list is on and on and the result is just a satisfying game to play. It makes you feel like you are Nathan Drake.

Intense gun fights while on a truck, Drake getting pulled by a truck on a highway then surf on a mud afterwards. That's an action game first. The thing about Uncharted is that, it's an action game but Naughty dog doesn't want you to just shoot and shoot but also to experience different ways of shooting people like you've never experienced before.

    Wrap up

The game is pretty straight forward and there is always one direction for every Uncharted game that Naughty Dog wants to deliver. And that's just pure awesomeness.

    Pros

    Awesome Graphics
    Great Scenery
    Great Gameplay
    Great story telling
    Action Packed moments

    Cons

Not a great ending for a final installment. :P

Don't know how a lower score game with no content (Overwatch) beat this for GOTY. both got free content just that one has a story and the other is online only.

This video game is "Good" is not a masterpiece but I personally think is one of the best action games.
The story is regular, is not that good but is not bad it's just... regular but the Gameplay is AWESOME!! is super smooth and well developed, when you shoot a gun it feels and looks real and the A.I. is great.
The only problem than I've with this game is than is a little bit repetitive

It's a great game. Sometimes you get tired to grab on the walls and see long cg 's. All the action scenes are incredible and we have a great history here too. Best game of the year.

What Uncharted 4 does right, it really show cases an amazing beautiful world, you will find yourself staring at the backgrounds in the game alot. The game play is fun, action packed, and it makes you use your brain alot more than other games lately. The story is gripping, you get real connections with characters, and it plays out like a movie.

Like the other Uncharted games you are basically Indiana Jones fused with Lara Croft in the search of lost treasure, the game does an excellent job of laying out the story, character progression, and geniuly makes you care about the characters like they are real people. You will often laugh at their lame "Dad jokes", or other things they say and do.

Now that being said where this game really hits the mark is in game play mechanics you can shift between a stealthy approach or an action approach which you will find both very challenging. The Ai is very smart in their approach to attacking you. Also your Ai "Partners" will contribute to the fights.

Now the game isn't "Open world" you are set on a linear path with some variations here and there, but the game will make you forget about that.

Defiantly worth your money, if this is your first Uncharted game there are several youtube videos that will "Catch you up" on the story of the first 3 games.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Uncharted 4 has the most beautiful and engaging settings with a really enjoyable story.

The locations in this game were varied and stunning. Unlike previous Uncharted games this has a more realistic plot thankfully without any supernatural elements! The level design is phenomenal, I stopped to take lots of photo's, which I very rarely do normally. The atmosphere peaks at the end when you walk amongst the cadavers piecing together their stories from scrolls. To be the first to uncover the horror and decay in such a lush environment is enthralling.

Hunting pirate treasure may be a simple plot but its an exciting theme well executed. By chance I happened to be watching Black Sails at the same time, this complemented the game really nicely. In the TV Series, Henry Avery is a legendary figure and you see the rise of certain new pirates. In the game you are searching for Avery's treasure and learn the eventual fate of some of these pirates. Experiencing both together is an awesome Assassin's Creed-esk moment!

Oh and the PS1 moment had me grinning from ear to ear!

This game tones in the more far-fetched aspects of its predecessors nicely and whilst the gameplay is good, I hope you like climbing! Its defining features are a great story and probably the most stunning visuals of any video game to date. Even more they manage to fill the game with humour, secrets and nostalgic nods.

    Pros:
    - Absolutely breathtaking visuals. It's astonishing how impressive Naughty Dog manages to make their games look. Every animation, character model, and texture in this game are beautiful to behold and the overall art direction rivals some of the best titles on PC.
    - The dialogue in the Uncharted games have always been best in class and this one is no exception. The characters feel real based on their interactions with each other as well as the brilliant performances by its star-studded cast.
    - Best plot in an Uncharted game by far. Although I didn't enjoy the story in this game quite as much as in The Last of Us, it was still a treat and thrilling throughout.
    - The grapple hook is a great addition to both the climbing and combat portions.
    - Many of the firefights in the game feel involved and dynamic. The enemy AI is constantly trying to flank and exploit your weaknesses and success is often only attainable through smart thinking and quick reactions.
    - More than anything, the ~15 hour experience truly imparts the feeling of adventure. What else could you ask for from an Uncharted title?

    Cons:
    - Despite the refinements made to combat, the game still does not push you enough to play the game the way it was meant to be played. Sitting behind cover and shooting after regenerating health is often tactically superior to running around causing mayhem. Unfortunately, this is also a significantly less fun way to experience Nathan Drake's latest adventure.
    - Nathan Drake is more or less the most athletic human being of all time. Because of this, it is incredibly frustrating when there's a chest high wall he can't climb or when he dies from a 10 ft. fall. For the most part, the game does a great job of crafting a linear experience with the veneer of choice and exploration. However, this makes the points when the illusion is dispelled even more noticeable.
    - Framerate drops are rare, but still noticeable.

Uncharted 2 was my favourite game of 2009. While Uncharted 3 was not as good for me as the 2nd part I liked it a lot too. So honestly 4th was my most anticipated game of 2016 (after RotTR). This game provides a great story, an excellent facial animation, a nice soundtrack and quite an engaging gameplay.

I have been waiting for a new Uncharted game since the release of the 3rd, but instead received a mixture of The Last Of Us and Uncharted. The game reminds it's predecessor - TLoU - in many ways. It is less dynamic than the previous Uncharted games. This was unexpected for me. I was prepared for a new dose of uninterrupted breathtaking action, but instead I have been provided with a quite calm and prudent game.
Similar thing happened with the latest game about Lara Croft. But that was an expected thing. Lara has always been more interested in an exploration than in a war. While Nathan Drake has always been a fortune hunter, who would not mind killing anyone between him and a treasure. But Uncharted 4 has a different setting. From time to time Drake is put in Joel shoes. That fact made the second half of the game a bit dim for me.

On the other hand, Uncharted 4 surpasses previous games of the franchise in many ways. But Uncharted 2 still remains my favourite Uncharted game - it includes a charismatic antagonist, easy mood and some kind of excitement - none of which the 4th part can provide.

As to the comparison with the new TR game, I personally prefer RotTR. These two games have some similarities - they both lowered the degree of action. But, from my point of view, ex UK developers made this conversion more seamless - they stretched action scenes with many interesting side-quests, hidden tombs and a lot of information about the gaming world (contained in documents, artifacts and enemy dialogs). While Uncharted developers didn't do quite as much to engage a player between action scenes.

In summary, Uncharted 4 is a stunning experience. I understand why some of gamers consider this game as the best game of 2016. But in my opinion it is not as polished as it could be. I think the developers could bring something more into the game to make it more complete. Though it showed a lot of things which can be implemented in the next Naughty Dog game (TLoU:PII) and make it the best game of the year again.

Eventually Uncharted 4 is a good ending to the Nathan Drake's story. I love this game, but can't say it is among my most favourite ones.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. An amazing finale to an amazing series. The game looks gorgeous, gunplay and mechanics are fluid as ever, and I cared about the story (for the most part). The change in controls took some getting used to, especially coming from the binge playing the Uncharted Collection in the weeks leading up to Uncharted 4. I have to knock a point because there was a point in the final 1/3rd of the game where I just lost caring about the story and just cared about getting to the next checkpoint because it felt tedious and long. I also felt the "betrayal"/"redemption" piece from Sam just wasn't as fleshed or satisfying as I hoped it would be. I also saw it coming from the start of the game.

The best parts of this game for me were the relationship struggles between Elana and Nate, and the epilogue. Those cut scenes hit me right in the feels.

I wish I could a separate review for multiplayer, but alas. Multiplayer is smooth and the customization options are fun (although a cash grab). Good gunplay carries over from the single player experience, even though there are obvious guns that are overpowered and annoying to go up against. Still find myself having a blast, however, in both competitive MP and survival mode.

I really liked this game. It was very cool to see the graphical update on this game from the older games. My favorite part of the game was the combat, I was having a blast whether I was shooting enemies or just jumping around ( there's a lot of that ). This game is in the bargain bin these days so you have no excuse if you have a PS4- play it.

Stating that the forthcoming game will be the last rendezvous with a popular, charismatic hero is a rare phenomenon. I congratulate Naughty Dog on their courage and in spite of myself keep my fingers crossed for them to stick to their decision. The farewell party they threw for Nate is simply spectacular. This is how I want to remember him, not as an old man who rubbed his joints with pain cream and then found a UFO. Uncharted 4 is a brilliant game and a breathtaking demonstration of what PS4 is capable of. [07/2016, p.56]
