Really enjoyed the game. I was very nostalgic at the end. No more mainline Uncharted. Great writing, relaxing and beautiful.

It also has the best multiplayer this series ever has (imo) hands down. These four concepts are perfect in this game, Naughty Dog really refined the gunplay and gameplay in this game nicely. The characters in this game are the same loveable bunch from previous uncharted, except for Sam; and this is where the hiccups begin for this game. You stick with Sam for like 75% of this game, and his character just wasn't very interesting, I didn't care for him. In a game where story rules all, having a character that's generic and rather predictable takes away from game a lot. The villains are also meh in this game, without trying to spoil anything the twist in the story was disappointing and rather predictable. Overall the story teeter'd from predictable to good for me personally, but I did enjoyed the ending. The gameplay overall was pretty good, I loved the open-linear world, it helped added oomph to the gamelength, and most locations were interesting and treasure hunting was great. The combat sections were amazing, I loved the level designs of it, you can approach from so many angles and directions it was very fun, the stealth was a welcome addition (more optiions is never a bad thing). The guns are less wonky, and enemies are less bullet sponges, just overall amazing. The only parts I didn't like was that the game's pacing can get pretty slow, it's borderline walking (or climbing) simulator for major chunks of this game. This wouldn't had been a problem had the game's story was amazing, but it was good and nothing more. The set action pieces for uncharted (it's trademark imo) is pretty good (would've been better had it not been spoiled by game trailers). Overall I did think the game was really good, add in the fun and tactical multiplayer and this is certainly a day one buy with great longevity. 9.0/10. On a personal side note: I also thought this was a great sendoff for the series, because honestly I feel like there's just not much we haven't seen anymore, form this game or genre; anyone who has played all four knows what I'm talking about. Cons:
    - Climbing can become repetitive, and thus boring, for some people.
    - Some nonsensical ludonarrative dissonance (which actually is even admitted in a PS trophy) elements. Like the fact that the protagonist acts like he is not a killer during cutscenes, but during gameplay sections he can kill dozens (potentially hundreds or thousands for multiple playthroughs) of people just to conclude his quest. This fact broke my immersion while playing. Might happen to the reader too.
    - Unnecessary (and expensive) DLC content (not considered for final score, just pointed here).

    Final Remarks:
Overall the game is a technical masterpiece, but unfortunately only technical. Graphics impress and characters fuel the story with interest, keeping the player invested on the experience. Absolute recommendation to everyone who doesn't mind playing fundamentally linear shooting games, recommended also to players who enjoy short game experiences or even interesting stories.
Not recommended only to the ones who are looking for a long experience (50h+) or a vast open world.

Having played every Uncharted except the PS Vita game, I can say firmly that Uncharted 2 and 3 are the best starring Nathan, perfect 10s. Uncharted 4 has the best, most personal story, but the pacing is off and the gameplay, though it has a few bright spots, is overall just average. There is nothing like the tremendous set pieces of Uncharted 2 or 3, or of Lost Legacy.

There is nothing like the tremendous set pieces of Uncharted 2 or 3, or of Lost Legacy.

So bottom line, Uncharted 4 has the best graphics of any Uncharted (except Lost Legacy), ties the characters' relationships up nicely. It's excellent with character. It also provides a better motivation for Nathan to go on his quest, with a surprising twist about 2/3 through in terms of character and plot - so if you cut it into a movie (leaving out all the ordinary gameplay) it would make the best movie of any Uncharted game, but when you play it you DO have to play through all the running and jumping and gunfights, and in this game - except for the excellent sword fight toward the end and a few other bright spots - the gameplay is not bad, but it just isn't up to par with 2 and 3, or Lost Legacy.

Lost Legacy deserves it's own place. It stars Chloe Frazier and Nadine. Nathan doesn't even appear. The characters relate in a grittier more realistic way than Nathan's games. Nathan will nearly lose his life 5 times in a minute, then chuckle when the danger is past and say something like, "Well that was close." Lost Legacy does not treat life threatening situations as lightly, so the game feels more real. The two co-leads also barely trust each other, which gives the game a good noirish feel. It also deserves a 10.

If you haven't played any Uncharted games, I would recommend 2, 3, and Lost Legacy, before playing 4. The first game, Uncharted 1, is about as good in terms of gameplay as 4, but without as good of a story.

While much game play remains unchanged, the addition of a grapple line, stealth and driving work really well in UC4 and where the game really shines is in the storytelling and pacing. A well crafted and fitting end to the series.

GRAPHICS: Gorgeous and seamless with amazing set pieces, excellent character models and animations.

VOICE: The voice acting is top notch with Nolan North and Troy Baker working very well together. Exceptionally well acted all the way around.

SOUND: Excellent sound with fitting source to reception recognition.

SOUNDTRACK: Really exceptional music and use of it to create atmosphere. At one point when Nate and Elena are coming to grips with the difficulty and hurt of their relationship I was almost moved to tears - and for a cynic like me that is quite feat.

GAME PLAY: The shooting continues to be Uncharted as always but the use of the grapple, stealth tactics and, of all things, driving work is so well. I usually don't care for driving sections and usually that is a really weak aspect (looking at you Watch Dogs) but here it is done superbly to where I really enjoyed it.

REPLAY VALUE: I have not dipped into the multiplayer so I can't comment on that, but for me, like its predecessors, I have little desire to replay the title. Once the story is complete and all the puzzles solved I have no reason to replay the game. The multiplayer may provide that value, but I prefer single player games.

OVERALL: An exceptional title that anyone who likes action adventure games should pick up and play. Since it may only be worth a single play through one might want to borrow or rent it, however I recommend owning it, to support Naughty Dog and as a must have in a video game collection. It may be worth revisiting in a couple of years and the multiplayer may be worth having - your mileage may vary.

Nathan Drake returns from retirement to finish the works of what he and someone close to him set out to accomplish many years ago. The game reintroduces all time best side kick Victor Sullivan, his on and off again love interest Elena and a new character to find the fabled treasure of the penitent pirate Captain Avery.

Everything you loved about the previous titles is here. The difficulty in Challenging mode is real. The environment and level of detail is unprecedented. If you thought The Last of Us was an eye opener be ready to visit the next level. This is the kind of game that wishes you owned a PlayStation. Perfect game highly recommended.

The multiplayer is decent and introduces many new features that buffs your character. No longer are you required to camp out the respawning of power ups like the previous title, allowing a much better free flowing experience. Unfortunately at this moment there is no co-op missions such experienced in Uncharted 2. However it is early days with three upcoming DLCs already announced.

For the trophy hunters, expect a very easy platinum with a minimum of two play-thrus (a speed/accuracy run and a challenge mode run). The majority of the trophies can be acquired through chapter/encounter select. The game has 5 multiplayer trophies which can be acquired in less than 2 hours.

Enjoy this one, it's for the players.

What's more impressive is the fact the game runs so well with those visuals, for the record I'm a "60fps guy" and 30fps usually hurts games for me but not this time, the devs did an amazing job of making 30fps feel smoother than it ever has with impressive motion blur and a mostly stable frame rate. When it's hitting its target it feels very fluid but it does have random slowdown at times and it's really noticeable when it happens because the game runs so well most of the time, sadly this slowdown happens during the final chapter and it really did taint the ending for me.

The gameplay has also been improved, it just feels much better to play, especially when aiming and during melee combat. The devs even "stole" a little something from Tomb Raider where you can insert your climbing pick into porous walls, it's a small detail but it makes the climbing sections have a little more depth.

I have never felt so attached to the characters on screen before, the feels were definitely brought this time, and because the visuals were so incredible everyone felt so real. It won't have you crying like The Last of Us, but the emotion was there this time when it has been lacking in the past.

Overall the game was brilliant, a true technical marvel but far more than that. Oh and if you didn't know it comes with a fully fledged multiplayer mode with multiple modes, a good selection of maps and countless unlockables to keep you busy, it's actually a lot of fun and adds quite a bit of value to your purchase so you should definitely check it out after finishing the campaign.

Uncharted 4 is a masterpiece. Go out and get it, you won't regret it. This is Naughty Dog's best game yet. Stunning graphics, top of the line voice acting, huge levels to explore and a very mature story makes Uncharted 4 the best way to farewell Nathan Drake.

This is a game that plesantly surprised me because of the ways it expands a series that could have probably ended in PS3 and everyone would have been ok with that.

Uncharted 4 has a better overall pacing than 2. I personally found 2's constant shootouts and change of scenarios a bit exhausting. 4's pacing, on the other hand, is slower with more variety and more emphasis on exploration. This is made possible by the inclusion of large, open areas. It might not be much, but it is enough to make Uncharted stand out a little bit more in my opinion. I also enjoyed the inclusion of vehicles.

Another good inclusion is the grappling hook, which makes for some fun traversal and clever puzzles. It would have been nice to see the grappling hook implemented into the combat somehow. Speaking of combat, shooting feels ok, and the shootouts are diverse enough to make them fun. Unlike 2, this game knows when to take a break from shooting to give place to other types of gameplay.

The story is also better than the previous games'. I could start nitpicking specific things about it, but the truth is that I liked it and I think it works perfectly well for a game like this. Uncharted 4 is around 14 hours in lenght, which is what you'd come to expect from a Naughty Dog game. Most of the chapters in the game are entertaining, but the ones with Drake as a kid are probably the low points.

Visually, the game is outstanding. The details present in every scenario are simply amazing. Voice acting and sound effects are very good. And finally, the game includes an unusually fleshed-out multiplayer mode. It might be fun to some, but honestly, If I wanted to play a good online shooter, I'd be playing something other than Uncharted. On a side note: was it necessary to have microtransactions in a game like this?

Uncharted 4 is a game that's accesible, fun for the most part and offers plenty of visual spectacle. It is carried by a good, compelling story and simple but well made gameplay mechanics. It is a game that can be easily recommended to casual players, but that can also be enjoyed by more dedicated types like myself as well. In the end, it is my favorite Uncharted title.

The story starts out in a fantastic manner and keeps going down that road of success. The first two thirds of the story are amazing and engaging. However, the third act overstays its welcome and drops the ball story-wise. It is evident that the third act was changed when the game got delayed. So many plot points are never explained (I will not spoil these points but the reasoning behind Sam's big reveal, Rafe's sudden motives, Nadine's moment, Sam's beef with Sully, etc. are never explained) So the story is the best in the series. However, it is overall an average story thanks to the third act. Also, the villains suck. Sorry to say but they do. They barely have any impact on the story and they are just boring, unmemorable, and silly compared to the villains of Uncharted 2 and 3. However, Nate, Sam, Sully, and Elena are all wonderful to see and interact with.

The Graphics are the best on the PS4. Easily. Beautiful to see and so colorful and full of life.

The gameplay is so refined to perfection. The grappling hook and sliding on slopes makes platforming a blast to preform. There are also more options on how to handle fights. Do you wanna be stealthy or guns blazing? Up to you. However, the vehicle sections....suck. The cars are clunky and have awkward controls.

There are much more things to cover, but just to be brief:
    Pros
    -Beautiful Graphics
    -Wonderful cast of heroes
    -So many options for combat
    -Platforming is varied and fun
-Perfect balance of platforming, puzzles, and gunplay.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Uncharted 4: A thief's End is a beautiful game and it is a game that really lets the PS4 power shine. The title is a bit misleading though as I can assure you that they could be a squeal and DLC is already in the works, in other words, Nate dose not die at the end.

The graphics in some cut scenes are almost as good as real life, the graphics during gameplay are equally as amazing, not as good as cut scenes but differently have that next generation feel about them. The character models are impressive and the environments are rich with detail and lovely to look at.

The sound in the game is fine nothing really stands out and they is quite a lot of talking as the game is highly story driven. The sound effects are on point and everything sounds how you what expect them too.

The whole game is presented in a clean and stylish way and everything feels very well crafted and thought about.

After beating the game you are given extra content to just have fun with the game if you want to play in over again for example you can put slow mo on or render the world with rainbow colours. You can also unlock any weapon with unlimited ammo and change everyones voices to a high pitch setting. Putting all of these extra settings on make the game even more fun to play again and also make you as the player pretty unstoppable.

The reason why I have not given this game a prefect 10 is because this game is not prefect. It is differently a solid 9. But I think this game has problems that is holding it back from getting the 10 even though i did really really enjoy playing this game I did find a few problems.

Let me tell you about these problems. First off Nate, who you mainly play as seems to be very very weak. If he take 3 or 4 hits he is down. If a sniper gets a good hit on him He can get killed in one hit and some npc's are unfairly over powered. The few boss battles are annoying as Nate is so weak it makes it too easy for the bosses. In the final boss battle which is a sword fight it is almost impossible. I actually found that the controls were not even working correctly. In general I think if Nate was stronger it would improve the game a lot.

The next problem is that the game wants you too keep look at things, like letters, items stuff from the old games, I don't care! It become annoying after a while. They is a point in the game where you have to look and every item in a chest to make the game carry on why! not everyone cares about all this stuff.

The last problem is that game has a pattern that is on repeat though the whole game, the pattern is look around area climb up cliff or something like this jump and swing around then have a gun fight with a number of dumb somethings over powered npc's do a puzzle and then repeat. and this pattern gets a bit annoying. To be honest by the end this game sort of was annoying me, It is lovely and amazing to play and I loved the throw backs to a very special game made by this devs but they is just something a bit wrong and it is almost prefect.

Climbing and shooting mechanics have greatly improved but I did come across some frustrating issues such as that you cannot climb up a ledge unless you re-position the camera behind Nate.

The graphics are very good; frame rate stable; voice acting, pacing and direction perfect (as expected from Naughty dogs). Thing with Naughty dogs is that they do such a superb work that everytime you expect so much more from them. One thing that made me really disappointed was the predictability of action and adventure sequences; This game is easily 50% adventure and 50% action and the timing of these sequences (action and adventure) eventually becomes predictable. I mean you get an area to defeat your enemies and then you get an equally lengthy area to roam around and cherish the scenery, solve puzzles, climb ledges etc. The combination of these sequences repeats in a cycle and it just becomes predictable after a while. I had this same and only complaint against the last of us and I was hoping that they might shuffle things up a bit in UC4.

The grim tone of the game is not justified either in my opinion. Would have been awesome to see Nate make a choice between Sam and Sully/Elena in a life and death situation to justify the grim tone of the game.

No encounters with wild animals yet again.
The main villain is too much of a baby in my opinion. I don't think his hate for the drakes is justified.

Alright enough bit*ching, UC is one my favorite franchises and Naughty dogs is one of the best studios out there so even with all the issues you may find in this game, its still a kickass game man. I mean did you guys see the chase sequences, the explosions and all the action, the combination of melee and the swing mechanic, slide and stealth mechanics and the semi semi open world......ho ho holy **** this games awesome. All of it fits in so well and organically. I replayed TLOU about 11 times. I think I will replay this one atleast 4 or 5 times. Its a journey man and very few games are successfully able to pull something off like this. So i say **** them haters in the red category because their heads are far up their asses for sure.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Uncharted 4 is a game that generated a stir, immediately. Many were waiting for it, others didn't think it was necessary. The important thing, as far as I'm concerned, is that it came out of a good game. A masterpiece, of course, but this doesn't mean it's perfect.

The narrative and the plot are very nice. It is strange to see the good Nathan Drake abandoned to the quiet life, to the common routine of everyday life. But this is the price you pay if you love someone, and if you want to make someone happy. Waived the risk, the unbridled pursuit, the adventure for Elena, the woman he loves ... and yet fails to be completely happy, because things are not supposed to be like that. The arrival of his brother, Sam, represents an escape, a new opportunity to get involved, once again, in an ultimate adventure; and it was quite predictable that the story told by Sam, about Alcázar, was a lie and nothing but a mere excuse to live an adventure with his brother. I also found this interesting similarity between the pirates of yesterday and today's pirates, those who rebel against the legal and everyday life, to find a different reason to live. This is Nathan Drake. It isn't a case of how he and Rafe eventually collide and fight with two swords, just like the pirates Avery and Tew did four centuries before, in the same place. A history of pirates. The parts of the plot acclimatized in the past of Drake, provide further revelations and seem to be very consistent, but one thing I didn't expect is the final, set in the future, with Cassie, the daughter of Elena and Nathan (one thing clearly inspired by The Last of Us). A nice ending to a good story.

Uncharted 4's gameplay is purely classic, as in previous chapters, where the only change is represented by the grappling hook, allowing, where possible, to create more dynamic fights. Classical mechanics, seem mostly improved, stealth is good, feedback of weapons works well and close combat is nice. The maps, in some sections, clearly have a much larger design, and make possible different approaches; however the game is completely driven, but I personally didn't ask much more. The sections on vehicles are well made and funny, and finally a decent boss-battle has been added, after the ridiculous "fist fight" between Nate and Talbot, in Drake's Deception. The longevity of the game is much improved compared to the third chapter, and now it seems to have really faced a long, beautiful, but tiring trip. As for the plot, the gameplay it seemed influenced by The Last of Us, and is clearly visible.

Graphically the game is spectacular and with good fluidity, seems to really push PlayStation 4. However in 2009, Uncharted 2, which pushed PlayStation 3, had no obvious fremarate declines in most messed up moments, as happens in Uncharted 4. The direction art is great and the soundtrack is quite nice.

What on which I would like to reflect, however, is the concept of "maturity" in Uncharted 4, on which Druckmann and Naughty Dog talked a lot. As is clear, the game is influenced by The Last of Us, but this is very controversial. In Uncharted 4, have been removed monsters and supernatural reference. Why? They were good, but I think Naughty Dog found them simply "nonsense things" and "childish tales" and then they decided to remove it, to give the game a bit of maturity. And no, Infected in TLOU are not the same thing. Another example is the different soundtrack's approach: there is no main theme (that I consider sacred in the saga), as if a silent menu, as in TLOU, with a skeleton in a cage, is "badass" or "more mature". I disagree with that, this is not maturity. We want to talk about maturity? Good, then why if Nate shoots an enemy in the head with a shotgun, enemy's head doesn't open like a pulped melon? And this happened in The Last of Us, a game released 3 years before on PlayStation 3. Where is the maturity in this? Where's the violence? And do not hide behind the fact that TLOU is post-apocalyptic and violent, while Uncharted is not; because in both worlds there is a thing called "matter", and if you shoot something, something will receive a noticeable damage. This is maturity, this is gameplay with physics and realism. They would have to choose better what to take from The Last of Us.

Personally, Uncharted 4 closes the saga in a great way, and I hope it is the definitive end. Among Thieves is still my favorite chapter, because it was a real change for the saga and because to be a game released in 2009 on PlayStation 3, it was extraordinary. Uncharted 4 is still higher than the first and third chapter, but Naughty Dog could learn much more from The Last of Us and let other things as they were. It's not a perfect mix, but it's a masterpiece anyway.

Uncharted 4 was definitely one of the very best games of 2016. with phenomenal gameplay, a good story, and excellent graphics to boot. This is one of the games that makes a PS4 worth buying. This game is not as good as TLOU, but definitely has some heart, personality, and is a groundbreaking title that is a must-own for PS4 players.

I finally got the chance to play Uncharted 4 and from someone who's played the series from the start; I'm impressed. Note that this is a story review only because I really feel the need for Uncharted multiplayer, I have COD and DooM for that.
The game is well paced, with some slower sections breaking up the huge action set pieces. When things go wrong they go wrong in spectacular fashion

The game is well paced, with some slower sections breaking up the huge action set pieces. When things go wrong they go wrong in spectacular fashion ands the series is well known for this; huge explosions and death defying leaps, it makes for an Indiana Jones game.
you'll not find too much in the way of story unless you've played the first three as Uncharted 4 takes you on an emotional story, it takes the already heavily progressed characters and gives them new motives and purpose. It's obvious that the writers from he Last of Us had a hand in this given that I actually welled up once or twice.
Naughty Dogs Initiative for Common Engine team has clearly been hard at work; the games engine is insane. The visuals are something else, I've seen some negative comments about them, one being that Crysis 3 was better? I've played both and the graphics on this game have advanced my play time by 90 minutes according to the stats (time spent stood still) as I often stop to slowly pan the camera and take obnoxious screenshots to annoy my PC elitist friends. The physics engine is great as well with: realistic rock slides and water trickles to name but a few. As well as this, the location designs are impossibly beautiful.
The gameplay is a little stale over the previous instalments but has been refreshed in a way that climbing is much more natural and accurate and the gunplay has been polished to near on perfection, in addition to the tried and tested methods use in previous games, the action is fun and fierce and if you think it isn't, stop playing on easy you little b****
All in all, an emotional and seriously impressive send off to the series, from a studio who's quality control is immaculate in a world of buggy post-release messes, Uncharted 4 sets a bench mark for industry standards.

    Gameplay 7/10

I have only got to Chapter 17, because I have exams, that is why I have not finished the game yet. But so far I am loving this game.

The plot is incredibly intriguing and the twist and turns it takes are usually quite surprising. The characters are extremely well written, Nadine and Rafe are horrible characters and you know it, Nate and Sam have incredible chemistry and the dialogue is also fantastic. Listening to conversations as you are walking through a cave or driving through Madagascar are fascinating and quite funny. But when the drama happens, it is handles perfectly.

The puzzles are challenging, but not that hard, but overall very good. The gameplay has drastically improved. My only issue with the Uncharted games is the gameplay. But Uncharted 4 has fixed this, slightly. The gun gameplay has been fixed and the addition of the grapple hook is great, but the melee combat still isn't fantastic. Its brutal and really fun, but not particularly fantastic. And the stealth isn't that great, even coming off The Last Of Us, and the cover system is a bit clunky. But overall the gameplay is really, really fun. And you feel like an absolute badass when you use the grapple hook, jump on top of someone, then kill everyone. Also the set pieces are awesome. The driving section was great, and the "open world" free roam areas were cool but I feel they could have added more puzzles or caves to explore, but still a good feature.

The multiplayer is also rather good. It's something to do after you complete the game (which I have not done yet.) And they have put a lot of effort into it, they didn't just add it for the hell of it, they really put a lot of effort into this one and it is really fun. And graphically the game is beautiful.

I do have some issues. One being the cover system, it is very clunky and sometimes getting into cover is annoying as hell. The gameplay is good, but still could be greatly improved. I feel more puzzles could be included, and more things should be added to the open world sections. Also for some reason you can't counter in certain melee combat sections, which is really dumb. And as usual the climbing isn't that great or challenging.

But overall so far the game is intriguing, well written, fun, immersive and overall captures the adventure and drama of previous Uncharted games. This really is the video game version of Indiana jones, and that is fine by me.

Does a game franchise need to be innovative to be good? No, and Uncharted 4 isn't innovative, but it uses the technology that is there and uses the technology to the max. I feel The Last Of Us gripped me and impressed me more than Uncharted 4, but as someone who loves the Indiana Jones movies and loves intriguing adventure movies and games this game is really up my alley. And as a sequel and the last game in this franchise It really is a good conclusion to one of my favourite video game franchises of all time. Hopefully the last 5 chapters don't ruin the entire game, if they do, I will kill myself.

So far I give this 9/10, but only just scraping a 9/10l

Naughty Dog ah Naughty Dog. Every time I see them developing something it puts a smile on my face because I know its going to be gold, and that's no exception with Uncharted 4. The final chapter in Nathan's story and its a memorable one. The brotherly love is felt here and Sully coming back. It really feels like an ending to a great game series. Also what a great final battle.

It just isn't. I'd say it's about on par with the original and 3.

I died a few times because I thought I was still in a cutscene, but I was actually supposed to be playing. I have a few nitpicks, though. The distance you need to fall in order to die is very inconsistent, leading to many deaths at the hands of safe-looking jumps, and the multiplayer has micro transactions. They're pretty minor and shouldn't bug you too much, but it kind of irks me that Naughty Dog thought that it'd be a good idea. There's also going to be single player DLC in the future, implying that you'll have to pay extra to experience the whole story. Again, these are all nitpicks, and you would be doing yourself a major disservice by not owning this great game. Expand

This game is well deserved in the praise it has received. It looks fantastic on PS4 and the game mechanics are just overall still fun. The only drawback I find is I found myself growing bored of the story really quick. I found the new uncharted lost legacy to have more fresh of a story. I still can't believe that we have reached the fourth iteration in the epic Uncharted series. Is this installment the last we will see of Nathan Drake? First, play the game and see and then bombard Naughty Dog with pleads and bribes to see if they would be willing to keep this fantastic series going.

This is the second best entry in the series in my opinion. The first game, Drake's Fortune, still retains the top spot because it introduced us to this Tomb Raider/Indiana Jones hybrid and caused millions to fall in love with its characters and, almost more importantly, it's scenery.

Uncharted has always been a series filled with beautiful locations that, graphically, always pushed the console to its limits. Uncharted 4 is no different and is quite possibly the most beautiful looking game I have ever played. As Drake swings from mountain side to mountain side, take a second and really take in what Naughty Dog has been able to create.

In typical Uncharted fashion, Drake is on the hunt for a treasure. This time, new faces are joining him for the ride in form of his brother Sam. There's a reason these brothers are reunited and through a series of flashbacks, playable, of course, you will get the full story of it all. This game dives into Drake's past which is fitting as we haven't really had much a glimpse into it save for a short flashback chapter in Uncharted 3. This game's script was co-written by Neil Druckmann who was the talented writer behind The Last of Us, so you know the dialogue is good and feels will be had.

If you aren't a fan of platformer games, which I go back and forth on, then this game may not appeal to you. I feel there is much more jumping from rock to rock, for example, in this game than in previous installments. However, they have made it more interesting by adding new tools that you can use. The one thing the Uncharted games were always good at was allowing you to feel in control during pivotal moments in the game. This one is no exception.

If you've played Uncharted 1-3 this game is a must play. It's still unclear as to whether this will be the last in the series, but the story will satisfy you but also leave you wanting more.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Uncharted 4: Thief's End is final game in Uncharted franchise and in many ways, it is the epic conclusion and the best game in the series.

Story leads towards huge pirate treasure and unites Nathan Drake with his brother Samuel Drake. Nate will be in tough spot in so many ways. His brother needs help but same time it makes him to lie to his wife Elena. Even though Nate gets help from his good friend Victor Sullivan, he soon finds out that he will be faced against cold and cruel Rafe Adler.

Everything that has made series wonderful, is here in this game. Action is extremely intensive and story very immersive. Adventure elements like climbing and puzzle solving are all done very well. This game might just have best puzzles in whole franchise and action has so many variable elements, that it will never be really boring.
Environment is same time players friend and foe. Long grass and water help to flank enemies, but in same time, many covers will eventually break under heavy gunfire.
Weapons have many variations and give player chance to use different tactics in combat. You can be more action oriented or more stealth oriented many times.

Adventure is one very atmospheric part of the game and also huge part of the story. Environments will differ a lot and game is gorgeous in graphical department.
Story itself is same time very dramatic and very easygoing and funny. There is times when its all fun and games, but other times it is much more dramatic with themes like brotherhood, marriage and loyalty. All this will end is more epic way than ever before in the franchise.

If there is something negative in this game, it is mostly just nitpicking. Some parts of the story should have had more focus in them. Some parts of the story feel like they had too little time in them.
Action - Adventure phasing is much better than ever before, but it could always be a slight better.
Then there is these new features. I especially like these conversation moments where you choose what to say. It would have been so cool if there would have been much more of those.
Treasure hunting might sometimes feel very frustrating since levels are this time much larger than before.
Biggest thing might be that when compared to many other games, Uncharted 4 is short. But is has very good phasing, great atmosphere and wonderful story.

One very positive part of the game is in bonus content like: Unlimited ammo, and that is just the tip of the iceberg.

Overall Uncharted 4: Thief's End might very well be best game 2016.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I have some reservations with the narrative flow of the game and the absurdity of the setting, some reservations about the fact the magical/supernatural totally disappeared from this episode, some reservations about the flavorless antagonists (plot wise and action wise), some reservations about a number of little aesthetic or narrative missteps (the like or which were almost nonexistent in The Last of Us), BUT two things shocked me in this fourth installment:

    1) The totally absurd $/second ration as more than once we storm through incredibly detailed scenery.

    2) Naughty Dog's ability to add more than half a dozen new gameplay systems to the franchise while still making it feel like the good old Uncharted. Free roaming areas (with vehicles), swimming/diving, tall grass cover to sneak around, python to route your climbing path, grappling hook, mud/gravel slides, MGS style AI (with detection, suspicion and attack with the possibility to escape and have them get back to normal)... all of these in brilliantly designed levels to allow marvelous unscripted action sequences.

A remarkable game with a very sweet ending.

That is the the frag spamming and having to find boxes to reach higher areas. The frag spamming is so dated and I thought that Naughty Dog would of done away with it, but no no. old and new characters are introduced and they all have their moments to shine, my favorite was sam(nate brother). he is a funny companion and a knowledgeable explorer, their relationship throughout the game felt real and human, something not many video games succeed in.
This is a short review of the game and I can talk all day about the amazing locations, surreal graphics and an awesome multiplayer, so in short I'd recommend this game to new and old playstation 4 owners, this is a true masterpiece.

The game is a solid 9, with its amazing graphics and nearly perfect game play, few glitches here and there but nothing game breaking great way to end the series. On a side note, I've never actually felt compelled to write a user review, but considering the Xbox and Nintendo fanboys have no life and nothing better to do than spring up out of bed to write their pathetic 0 reviews something needs to be done to balance out the garbage from real reviews....What a joke that this site even lets it happen....

One of the slickest games I've ever played. You feel like you're watching/playing in a movie. The dialogue is well done, the graphics are crisp, the movement feels smooth, all in all just a slick game.

There is never a dull moment, the game transitions seamlessly from action sequences to dialogue and does so all to the pacing of an action-packed adventure. If you have a pulse, you

This was my first uncharted game. Figured I'd be lost and have no idea what was going on but felt that it stood by itself well. I really liked all aspects of the game but the highlight was how incredible it looks. One of the better game purchases I've made int he last few years.

Some people review games based on their emotions without considering any other dynamic of the game - whether it be good or bad. Ignore them! I personally thought this game was fantastic overall. It was long, it was interesting, it had a fantastic story and honestly, It was a perfect farewell to a franchise I've grown to adore over the years.

The best game ever seen on PS4. Gorgeous graphic, characters, dialogs...
I really enjoyed playing Uncharted 1,2,3 but Uncharted 4 is the most beautiful game of series.

    Thanks Naughty Dog!!!!

Look this game isn't for everyone, in fact it will probably lose a lot of players in the first couple of hours which really pushes story rather than action, but please it does get a whole lot better. But this game does so well to alleviate the others "short comings". The story is so well paced, memorable, and for the first time I was really like really invested in the characters of the uncharted games. The game play was a hell of a lot more dynamic than just finding a wall to crouch behind or at least being behind a wall wasn't the only way to survive. And the action pieces, jesus christ I was so glad I didn't watch any trailers, they were so well done and heart pounding. However, it's not like the game had negatives, there was almost to much climbing, although I also liked those sections too, and some moments dragged a tad too long... well thats about it for me. Even the multiplayer is pretty fun. I'm gushing over this game because I should be, it's literally hands down the best looking game I've ever seen, has an awesome story, fun gameplay, and is a great send off for Nathan Drake. Even if you hate the game it really doesn't deserve a 0, because you can physically see the love, blood, and sweat that went into this masterpiece. Expand

WOW great game, it looks amazing also the story is addicting!! I didn't really play the multiplayer so I cant really comment on that but I recommend this game. You don't need to play the previous Uncharted to understand the story

Uncharted 4 is a landmark title that anyone remotely interested in interactive storytelling should invest in. Naughty Dog has once again raised the bar across the industry. Thrilling shootouts, a staggering level of detail, breathtaking visuals and emotional depth come together to make Uncharted 4: A Thief's End a must-play masterpiece.

Stating that the forthcoming game will be the last rendezvous with a popular, charismatic hero is a rare phenomenon. I congratulate Naughty Dog on their courage and in spite of myself keep my fingers crossed for them to stick to their decision. The farewell party they threw for Nate is simply spectacular. This is how I want to remember him, not as an old man who rubbed his joints with pain cream and then found a UFO. Uncharted 4 is a brilliant game and a breathtaking demonstration of what PS4 is capable of. [07/2016, p.56]
