A gorgeous and well made story driven adventure that boils down to lots of climbing and cover shooting, albeit in a truly spectacular fashion.MP is dull, though I doubt many buy Uncharted for that.A fine ending for a fine series.

Uncharted 4 is quite a peculiar title. It's a shoot-em-up, action adventure game and yet still so much more. From start to finish it's nothing but a non-stop rollercoaster of action. It's like somebody grabbed a little of Kill Bill, Tomb Raider and Indiana Jones, threw them in a bowl and baked a tasty pie.

While overall a great game, there were fairly severe plot holes abound. Your main antagonist seems to have an infinite supply of goons to throw your way and resources better than the US government altogether. Well, of course, right? you need to do something! when I go to the bank i'm fighting off hundreds of baddies myself...That's where the game fights with itself as it tries to be hyper-realistic. You are just a treasure seeker but no, also a mass murderer on global scales. At one point you are arguing about getting proper permits for simple retrieval job. The next you are mowing down hundreds of people followed up with a cutscene where Nathan is telling everyone to calm down and "can we talk?" It's so jarring to see Nate go from mass murderer to pacifist back to mass murderer. Yeah a lot of it is forced on him but it's still just so out of character.

The other problem is how enemies get to your destination leaps and bounds faster. Realistically, the missions that Nadine puts her Shoreline crew threw would take months of prep and planning. Going to other countries with thousands of soldiers and weaponry without a hitch??? Yet somehow, Shoreline will be there quicker than 3 guys on a small plane. I don't buy it for a second and it happens ALL. THE. TIME! Even Nate's wife (Elena) is a master tracker when the plot calls for it!

That aside...the game is just so much damn fun. If the story had been a bit more solid I could have easily given it (possibly) 10.

My favorite games from naughtydog are uncharted 2 and last of us. Didn't really like the 3rd uncharted because I found it too repetitive and the aiming was broken when comparing to uncharted 2. Uncharted 4 is a different beast. I'd say it feels naughtydog wanted to grow the game with it's loyal audience. This game is a bit darker and feels more like a drama with hints of comedy as opposed to the previous games having a relaxed comedic feel. UC 4 is enjoyable in a different way, as always naughtydog did a superb job with animations, voice acting, story and character to character dialog. If you are someone that loves a good drama movie then you will enjoy this game.

I'd say this game ranges in the middle between uncharted 2 and last of us in the emotions you have when you play it. Sometimes it will have that pure uncharted 2 feeling where you are just enjoying yourself swinging around snapping necks and kill baddies, they've included a hint of stealth similar to assassins creed black flag.
Then you'll have moments where it feels you are playing a game like the last of us. The story will get darker and more serious. I think this is why a lot of people don't like it.

The acting is flawless (one slightly off kilter accent aside) as Troy Baker, Nolan North et al reprise their roles with aplomb. The story is easily the most entertaining with Drake's brother bringing a new depth to the story. The exploration is fun, with where to go well signposted with subtle clues and the locations well realised. In fact, the only sticking point for me, as with all Uncharted games, is the combat.

    It's just not fun.

Don't get me wrong this is a big improvement on earlier instalments it just goes on so long. Get in cover, shoot and increasing bullet spongy bad guys. Run out of cover to avoid seemingly limitless grenades. Get in cover. Rinse and repeat. My heart dropped every time I went into an area filled with low walls and red barrels.

Also, how on earth do these chumps keep rocking up to shoot at you in this super secret cave you had to solve puzzles and make death defying leaps to reach? Are there always fifty armed goons just following you at a nice distance swinging across collapsing masonry and leaping vast chasms!?

They should reduce the number of enemies by at least 50%. Make them sneakier, tougher, whatever you want just make the fights shorter so I can get back to the good bits please!

The combat is a bit tedious, more killing than a Liam Neeson revenge movie, but everything else was great. I even liked towing the stupid SUV.

TL:DR: Uncharted 4 is a very beautiful and engaging game with great characters which unfortunately suffers from lack of customization and platforming gets repetitive by the end

Story and characters 9/10: All our favorite characters are back: Elena, Sully, Nathan. And of course, the plot revolves around a treasure and a villain who wants it for himself. But it's not the plot which makes the story good (let's face it, the plot is OK), but rather the interactions between the characters and the emotional moments they experience. Except for one or two scenes, the story is mostly your typical National Treasure plot: "and this will lead to another clue, and this will lead to another clue"

Music, graphics and animations 9/10: Both are very much on the level. In one scene, the background noises subtly disappear and only the music is left, creating a very surreal feeling. The graphics are par for the course: everything looks wonderful. Now, animations is there the game occasionally stumbles: while the hair movement is very natural, and moving through high grass and taking out enemies feels almost too real, the climbing animations are absolutely unrealistic, with Nathan basically clipping to where he needs to be despite clearly not having enough reach or momentum. To me, that killed the platforming so much that by the end I just wanted no more platforming at all. Alas, the game creators thought otherwise, and the game is VERY platforming heavy, with occasional bursts of enemies to have fun with.

Gameplay and replay value 8/10: so, as I mentioned before, I did not like platforming at all, despite how beautiful the views are. The combat, on the other hand, is great. Each area can be approached with stealth or guns blazing, and detection meters help understand when there's a risk of being spotted. I have managed to clear quite a few areas without breaking stealth. Sometimes there's no other option other than start shooting, and the game is fun here as well: the guns have weight to them, whether you are using a pistol or a grenade launcher. So yes, very fun. However, since there's no customization options, once I went through an areas with stealth and guns, that's it. The game realizes that - the menu after end game even gives you direct access to all the combat encounters directly, so you can skip all the walking and climbing.

Multiplayer: I don't play MP and I don't care, sorry.

Overall, it's definitely a must play, but in the long term YMMV.

I'm really surprised they improved that part of the game as I thought the tone of Uncharted was a crazy wild ride shooter with cutscenes to match. Too much climbing not enough action. I mean they improved the action! Why have less of it? The climbing is improved too, now with swinging, but at times the pacing get's real lopsided because of the focus on it.

Let's face it, the success of Uncharted has always been due to the production value and the wild ride of a story and this is the best one.

I’m usually not very fond of such titles, as they can often get lost in their movie-wannabe aspirations to the point of severely affecting the gameplay. Uncharted 4, however, won me over by combining pristine level design with an unusually slick amalgamation of gameplay and storytelling.

Like other games in the franchise, A Thief’s End is a linear story-driven adventure. It puts you in the shoes of Nathan Drake, who’s like a modern-era Indiana Jones (a somewhat smug, yet ultimately likeable treasure hunter). As the game begins, Drake has left his globe-trotting life behind him, and now has a happy marriage, a job, and a pretty much regular life. Of course, that generally does not a good story make, and soon enough unforeseen circumstances force our hero out of retirement.

My favorite thing about Uncharted 4 is how it manages to feel open and expansive in spite of its extreme linearity. The game spans many settings, from Italy to Scotland to Madagascar, and your path to each section’s main goal is filled with small environmental details and incredibly beautiful vistas. The nature of the gameplay organically guides you forward, and there’s not a single invisible wall to be seen. All of this adds up to a great sense of immersion, which is only broken by having to go through the same in-game dialogue each time you die.

There are basically two types of gameplay sections here. The best are focused on exploration, in which you’ll perform all sort of dexterous climbing and platforming, while continuously moving towards a goal. There are also collectibles to find in each area in the form of small treasures, which unlock cool novelties in the ‘bonus’ screen, such as graphical skins, sound effects, and gameplay addons.

The not so great sections are the ones which involve cover-based shooting. Don’t get me wrong; those can be kind of fun in small doses, but I felt Uncharted 4 features a bit too many of them. A plethora of different weapons, each with its own benefits and weaknesses, help to make things a bit more interesting, and there are a few genuinely exhillarating moments (such as a car chase that’s worthy of the most insane action flicks).

Of course, we’re talking about a story-driven game, so an action movie is very much what Uncharted 4 feels like. Surprisingly, this isn’t often to the detriment of the gameplay, as the spot-on level design means even the extreme action sections in which you don’t really do much feel superbly rewarding. The story itself is, well, an action movie’s story, meaning it’s at times fun and compelling, but also filled with some pretty egregious plot holes (such as the remote, ancient pirate recruiting challenge that obviously would need to be rebuilt from the ground up after each time someone failed it).

    TL;DR
Uncharted 4 is a fine final chapter to Nathan Drake’s adventures. The sense of immersion is excellent, which often makes you forget (or just don’t care about) the game’s lack of an extensive world to explore. Given that the best gameplay sections are precisely the exploratory ones, this is quite a feat of game design. Even though the storytelling isn’t without its cheap devices and plot holes, the writing is pleasant enough to round up a very nice package.

(Ou uns spin-off?)

Story is good, but it's not really great. It felt detached from the previous games. For it to be a great grand ending to the series, i kind of would have wanted a Treasure that was foreshadowed in all of the previous games and tied in with the earlier installments. Instead we get a story of Nates personal life, his inability to balance his "normal life" with the adventurous life he has lead thus far. Trust is the center of the games message, and it reminds us of that several times.
The villain of the game is kind of bland, he reminds me of the main villains of the previous games, in fact he does so a lot.
It's good, however it could have been better.

Action is decent, ok weapon feel. Just ok though, nothing great, however i think very few people buy this game for the action. It's pretty much a movie :).

Puzzles are too easy, would have been ok without the book or at least Nate scribbling down every little thing. Well i guess him not doing so would have made little sense.

The only thing that lets it down for me is the repetitive gunplay and uninspired wave of enemies one after the other. I think aside that, the puzzles, exploration and INSANE action sequences (which are FAR better and more dynamic than any other quicktime event i can recall) are incredible. It's probably the most fluid and dynamic looking game around, the animation is world class also. I'd hope to see nothing changed moving forward for UC 5 except more diverse enemies and better and tighter gunplay.

The DLC is also a fun addition to play through as well.

If you watch a lot of action movies, you may be able to guess what is going to happen next. Nothing feels truly unique here (Tomb Raider or Last of us have better stories in my opinion)

Gameplay is uh ... mediocre. Well, I do not want to blame the developers but it is a very mediocre gameplay, like general action games 4 - 5 years ago. You do climbing, shooting, sneaking, and then repeat. This game doesn't even have an upgraded weapon system. No leveling yourself, No any rpg stuffs like Tomb Raiders or Last of us ( Last of us is also naughty dog owners, I don't understand why they degrade gameplay system). This game also should have allowed you to control your teammates like MassEffects since we have to fight in team many times.

I didn't play multiplayer so I have no opinion in that but I heard that it was good.

Music is OK, Voice acting is good. The ending and the epilogue are satisfying and well made. I spent 15 hrs finishing the game.

In sum, Uncharted 4 is good action game especially graphic but gameplay is too old school for 2016 game. I hope action games will get leveraged in gameplay soon. Need something new, That is all

But I like to remember the certainty of there being new, equally affecting experiences in the future. All our things used to not be there. Uncharted 2 was a very alluring prospect when it came to be. I trusted the praise of all the critics and fans. But it's not worth getting another console for one game. Not too long ago, I was at a friends house with a PS3. I searched through, and it was there(this is sounding like a 5th grade personal essay example. Difference is, I mean it). It felt surreal to have the opportunity to play it. Yet in a very real way I already experienced it. I held it in a high esteem for it's cinematic action that seemed to might even match that of the unparalleled Modern Warfare 2. I saw the E3 gameplay demos and read the reviews. I already had my opinion of Nathan Drake being a cocky protagonist that ignored the more recently realized moral aspects of killing. An EGM editor put it simply, that he is a mass murderer. But yeah, maybe saying "sweet" while grabbing an AK is just his easy-going self preservation. I managed to rush through a few chapters. I agree that it's 9 probably even 10 out of 10 material in 2009. Now it felt like a inoffensive run through of action and platforming mechanics and level design that Tomb Raider and others were happy to pick up. So when I recently bought a PS4, more in earnest of used games to play before the amazing looking upcoming exclusives, I wasn't really excited to play this game that was bundled in. Though right away, I was thankfully proven wrong. No, it didn't make any leap forwards in games like Spec Ops:The Lines crushing narrative or the incredible exploration of Skyrim. But the way Naughty Dog put it all together made it become a superior single player game. I still feel a little spoiled seeing the amazing graphics, which are combined with a more down to earth yet still stunning art style. The traversal mixed with open combat or fast initiative taking stealth felt like a new progression of 3rd Person action. Even from the announcement trailer with Nathan coming to in a dark and quiet setting, the game seemed to be more reserved than in the past. It gave the impression that this wasn't essential canon or had anything truly new. But especially towards the end, it makes up with huge explosive sequences that take on a higher level of power with modern graphics. The pg-13 Spielberg/Pirates of the Caribbean tone pervades throughout the game and is as important as the use of the gun play. This really is what makes it stand out among the ultra violent comparatively grim crowd. And that is a great strength. However there are times when the dialogue detracts from the mystery or grandeur. It hard to get invested in the scene when Nathan continually exclaims "Jesus!" or makes a dumb observation of Avery's work I had to mute the dialogue while repeating tough sections, which helped me get through. It's all over but I'm certain we'll all remember Nathan's adventures. Uncharted's light hearted tone really stands out to me when so much else that I love to play feels harsh when compared. Not too bad, maybe I'll try to have Nathans outlook on things. Expand

The motion capture is the best I have seen in any game, it feels like real people having real conversations, who is being brought to life by Nolan North and his fellow actor friends. The game play is, to put it simply, fun. From shooting enemies with a range of different weapons to swinging from ledge to ledge with a rope, the game is never a bore. Uncharted 4 is a great ending chapter to Drakes story. Naughty Dog has done an amazing job wrapping up the story for most if not all of the main characters, and possibly even setting up a new character to start a new game with.

As far as story goes, it feels great. I love all the little cut scenes as Drake as he copes with a normal life. You can really tell that him and Elena miss the adventurous life they both used to live. There is a scene early on in the game where you two sit down on a couch and just talk about things. This may seem slow to some but it felt awesome to me. They do a great job setting up both the story to come and in the past. Now as far as the plot driver, your brother, who has mysteriously never been mentioned before, I felt he was a bit forced in as a character, but Naughty Dog does set up a good reason as why he hasn't been around. Even so he does feel weak as a character to previous characters in the last 3 games. The villain of the game i felt was the best of the 4 games, though the previous villains always felt like weak characters as well.

As far as the game play, it is fun but i feel inventive. Something about the cover just doesn't feel right after playing another Naughty Dog game, Last of Us. Sometimes you will just get stuck on cover when you want to move around to a different side or switch from one to another. I wish this was improved on from the previous games. Another issue with the cover in this game in particular is that they really wanted to show off how great this game looks, and trust me it looks breathtaking. Almost every cover that you come across in the game is destructible. Why is that bad you ask me? Well read on about some of the harder difficulties below.

The gun play feels just as good as Last of Us or other third person shooters like Gears of War, but what kills the action for me is the AI. Both your companion and the enemy AI are very unimpressive. Most enemies will stand out in the open just shooting you, or lobbing grenade after grenade. As the game progresses you will come across shot-gunners and mini-gun guys. They are heavily armored and all they will do is walk slowly to you, even in the open. Other enemies will just rush you, sometimes with more powerful weapons and easily kill you. Most sections you will start out on one of the destructible covers i had mentioned earlier and with the limited ammo you have you cant really take your time as one side you are being pushed and the other just endlessly shoots your cover quickly destroying it. Now don't get me wrong, i love a challenging game, and of course there are easier modes that can be selected, but the actual AI does not try to get you out of cover by moving cover to cover and flanking you, they more just run at you and continually shoot at you.

Another disappointment is that they had added a grenade throwback feature in Uncharted 3, but it is missing once again here. This would of been a really nice feature as enemies will throw them at you....endlessly.

A few things they have added is a rope to swing to new cliffs, making you feel like Tarzan, and a pick that you can stab into some cliffs to climb up, but it doesn't feel as open as the climbing pick from Tomb Raider.

Overall, the reason I play the Uncharted games were for the story, characters, visuals and environment, but the combat leaves something to be desired. The combat is not bad, I just feel it was done better in other Naughty Dog and third person shooters.

If you have played the first 3 or enjoy fantastic characters and story, this is a must by for PS4 owners.

Great graphics and amazing skin textures and facial expressions, and generally immaculate attention to detail in and out of cutscenes, so much so that you almost don't notice their seamless transitions, also thanks to the absence of any loading screens. Gameplay however, suffered from uninteresting and really tedious platforming that sees Nathan making it onto the next path by the skin of his teeth dozens of times, to the point where it gets repetitive and disappointingly predictable. It's fun and looks great, above all when you take a moment to absorb it all with the other characters from a panoramic cliffpoint or tall building, or even when you're jumping from collapsing bridges and four hundred year old towers, but after a while it loses it's lustre and it just becomes a rinse and repeat cycle. Shootouts and encounters are still heaps fun and you can approach it stealthly or guns blazing (although it's not recommended), and the puzzles are varied and challenging enough to be entertaining when they come around. The thing that yet again keeps it from being a masterpiece is its linearity in the gameplay and platforming. Getting from A to B always feels extremely on rails and set up, above all through its action sequences. Characters are well acted however, which keeps the mediocre plot above the water for most of the game, although it slightly loses itself in the third act, occasionally coming through a bit forced. Nevertheless the game is a great finale to the series that successfully completes its story arc. Would recommend the game if you're looking to push your ps4, honestly not going to find a better looking game at the store for now, but in terms of gameplay and platforming you might be disappointed. Would give it a 7.7-7.8 so rounding it to 8. Expand

Graphically, it is probably the most impressive game I have played, with incredibly detailed and realistic character models and animations, lavishly designed and visually spectacular environments, and impressive graphical effects. The sound design is equally impressive, with a suitably bombastic movie style soundtrack, excellent sound effects and mixing, and first class voice acting across the board. In terms of presentation, Uncharted 4 is an extraordinary achievement.

The writing, by The Last of Us author Neil Druckmann, is on point, keeping the returning characters true to their nature, but adding a layer of nuance and emotional complexity that has not existed before. Uncharted has always been a fairly light hearted franchise, modelling itself on Indiana Jones by keeping the pace fast and mood upbeat; with Druckmann at the helm, Uncharted 4 slows the pace down and introduces some more grounded themes and adds complexity to the characters relationships, giving the story a more serious and more weighty feel. This will appeal to people like me who always felt that Uncharted was a bit 'lightweight', but may not please those who enjoyed the flippant tone of the earlier games.

In terms of gameplay, Uncharted 4 remains consistent with its predecessors, with cover based shooting and climbing mechanics being the mainstays. The gunplay is functional, but not particularly exciting or engaging, and the climbing is on the basic side, with most of the challenge coming from figuring out where you are supposed to go through trial and error, rather than through execution based challenge. Some light stealth mechanics have been added this time around allowing you to approach combat encounters either directly or in stealth, meaning that killing foes now optional in many cases. The stealth gameplay is not particularly sophisticated, but it does make a nice change of pace and gives you more options in how you approach the game. Overall, the gameplay is solid and functional, but nothing special.

In summation, Uncharted 4 is a spectacular, engaging, and thoroughly enjoyable experience that is absolutely worth playing. It's not the most complex game, and it may be lacking in replayability if you aren't into the multiplayer, but the sheer quality of the 16 to 18 hour campaign is in my view, worth the price of admission.

Note: I did not play the multiplayer, so my review is based on the single player campaign only.

    What i liked:
Great graphics for a console game, with very much attention to detail; An interesting pirate subplot which develops as you progress further into the story and as you collect and read the notes scattered through the game (more interesting than the main plot itself); The same cinematic experience from the previous games, with intense scripted scenes and frenetic gunfights; Much improved enemy AI who tends to flank you and not let you stay in one place.
    What i disliked:
Dumb friendly AI who just follows you around, and whose main and only purpose is to tell you how to solve puzzles and where to go next; Boring segments of gameplay from Drakes past (and future) where you just walk around for hours and interact with objects; Horrible voice acting and appearance on the Elena character; Predictable and improvised storyline, with way to many cut-scenes.
Also, the stealth mechanic sucks and it doesn't really belongs in an Uncharted game. The vehicle was an interesting addition but its used only in like 2 or 3 chapters.
Its mostly a love it or hate it kind of game and it all comes down to personal taste.

Uncharted is a franchise that is a true system-seller for PlayStation. The fourth entry in this franchise does not disappoint and, while not introducing anything new or ground-breaking, A Thief's End provides a satisfying conclusion to the Nathan Drake story.

Firstly, this game and this world is completely and utterly breathtaking. In my opinion, the best looking game of all time as everything from plants and vegetation to fire and explosions look realistic, and the characters during cutscenes look like it is pulled from a movie. The voice-acting is still the best of any game or franchise I've ever played, with a strong performance by Troy Baker adding to the already outstanding cast. The gameplay is solid, and one of my complaints about The Last of Us was that it felt too slow and repetitive, though some parts of this game (Scotland in particular) does feel similar, the gameplay provides enough excitement and variety to keep you interested.

Having said this, there is a part in the game where I completely lost interest. The prologue and early parts of the story you mainly watch, but these are excellent as it shows that Nathan Drake is struggling to cope with retirement. Once the adventure starts and you find yourself climbing and jumping and climbing and jumping it does take a while for the game to re-hook you. Though the characters are so interesting and entertaining, the story as to why Drake's brother Sam has turned up and how he gets Drake back into the business seems a little convenient, and you wonder how any of the aspects were not mentioned in earlier games.

All in all though, I will give Uncharted 4 the same score as I provided The Last of Us, 8/10). Naughty Dog creates gaming experiences and, though The Last of Us tugged at the heart strings slightly more with a more interesting story, Uncharted 4 provides more exciting gameplay and more interesting characters that I personally cared more about. All in all, a very good game that everyone with a PS4 should really experience.

But for the time you spend with it you will have a blast and you can't play this game without just pausing and appreciate the attention to detail in every aspect naughty dog has put into this game.
Nate will get dirty when sliding in the mud and the mud will wash off when he jumps in the water, the comments from your partners make sense and make them feel alive, and the set pieces are some of the best I've seen in any game.
The locales are also diverse. Storywise it is a bit cliche but very passable.
But in the end the only new thing it brings is a grappling hook a lá Rise of the Tomb raider and refined gunplay compared to the older titles. If you like the old titles you will like this game. I have beat it on hard, then replayed some chapters to catch some trophies, I spent some 20h or so in sp (I explore every nook and cranny) and some time with mp but I feel now I'm done with it for atleast a few years. That beeing said, it was very well spent 20h for me and I feel I got my moneys worth on the SP alone.
Drawback... well it's on ps4 only for one, I'd love to see this game on pc at 60fps and with performance bringing the already beautiful locations and gameplay to life even more.
No but actually apart from some minor typical console AAA attributes like having the controls ripped from the player in a slow walking looking at stuff or follow this NPC sequence, there isn't much to complain about.

Not so hyped ...well coz much lesser game modes...kinda less maps too but dlc would compensate for that....Hoping for more gamemodes and coop !!

Graphics & Cinematics: The best so far on PS4. Rather realistic, epically artistic and gorgeous. And physics in game is fantastic. In addition, cinematics like the motorcycle chase is splendid.

Music & Voice-Over: The voice-over is epic as always but the music is comparatively a bit unsatisfactory IMO.

Gameplay: I really can't judge this one since I didn't get my hands on it, but from what I saw I am pretty impressed, though sometimes some puzzles could be a little frustrating(for casual players like me :P). All in all the gameplay seems to be refreshing, including the MP.

Story: IMO, this is the weakest part of the game, and I believe my feeling has a lot to do with the lack of experiencing the sequels.
    1) Obviously UC4 is endowed with numerous nostalgic subtleties which would work perfectly on veteran players. Nonetheless, deprived of the nostalgia, the base story of this particular game is sort of lame IMO. It's decent but it seems to lack some sort of depth or real twist, making the story generally predictable in a way, especially in the latter half, where some chapters seem to be rather repetative. Personally I reckon that UC4 leans too heavily on the nostalgia than on the base story.
    2) UC4 definitely learns a lot from TLOU (Yep, I "finished" TLOU on Youtube too XD). While most of them blend in perfectly, some don't work out too well. TLOU was pretty impressive and those characters successfully passed their emotions to me, and the cinematics were literally my favorite parts. But when it comes to UC4, I find it kind of hard to literally attach to them emotionally. Plus, some cinematics are kind of awkward and tedious IMO.
3)But overall, it wraps up the franchise pretty well. I enjoy it.

Verdict: Though suffer some flaws, the game is still bloody epic with enormous details. Anyone own a PS4 shall get hands on this one(I believe it works best with the Drake Collection : ) I also recommend The Last Of Us).

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Hi guys I only ever comment on a games flaws.

    1. While in chapter 13 (between water and beach, a clipping issue caused my character to somehow become trapped under beach).

    2. Jumps from ropes are some times a bit fickle or at rather stupid angles.

    3. Crash Bandicoot easter egg was fine but god dam annoying when it's associated with trophy for platinum cause the jumps if off by a very small amount like an inch from the edge you plummet to death and die, was most tedious thing in game which would have scored higher if it wasn't for ascoiating it with a trophy.

    4. The game occasionally Crashes when loading or skipping cut scenes (I was using downloaded from store version not disc) and using 1.05 for the majority of play through.

    5. Voice acting sounded strained in parts, but this may have been intentional for comic purposes.

I did not pay for a crash bandicoot easter egg tied to a trophy I paid for uncharted. It lost two point merely for the annoyance of crash bandicoot and the super long animation it takes to see stuff in the epilogue.

Expand

I give it an 8/10 because while it is a great entry into the Uncharted series, Nathan's brother is a rather uninteresting character (honestly a bit of a dick), and he is with you 90% of the time. The story is provocative and well written, the dialogue is engaging, and the transitions between game-play and cut-scenes are seamless. The mechanics are fun and easy, with simple and sensible controls. The A.I. is intelligent and will operate as a cohesive unit to surround and destroy you. You can approach enemy strongholds as a stealth assassin, or guns blazing. Both strategies are rewarding and challenging for different reasons.

I’m docking 2 points because the game-play is very repetitive at times. The bulk of your adventure can be reduced to very simple formula: climb, jump, swing, kill a group of bad guys, repeat. The developers could have opened up the environment a bit, giving us a choice between a variety of right and wrong paths to a given destination. As the game unfolds, it becomes increasingly obvious which cliffs you’re suppose to scale, which ledges you’re suppose to climb, and which paths you're suppose to walk. This becomes monotonous, and begins to feel like wasted time sandwiched between important events. Aside from that, A Thief’s End is a uniquely rewarding experience that is a must have for fans of the franchise…or any fan of well-crafted games.

    Overall - 8.5

The good: -Superb acting, some of the best I've experienced. -Absolutely gorgeous, probably the prettiest game I've ever played, the different settings - cities and old ruins, jungles, etc. will make you just want to stop and stare for a little bit for each one. Best character animations I've seen in a video game to date. -Really liked the controls, great third person

-Absolutely gorgeous, probably the prettiest game I've ever played, the different settings - cities and old ruins, jungles, etc. will make you just want to stop and stare for a little bit for each one. Best character animations I've seen in a video game to date.
-Really liked the controls, great third person shooting. Driving was also a joy, it felt much easier to me than for GTA V.
-Like an interactive action movie. If you ever wanted to know what it's like to actually BE Indiana Jones, this is it. It combined the thrill of an action/adventure movie with the addictive feeling of a book you don't want to put down. However, it's arguable that you feel more invested in the main character and the story than you would in either medium because you are actually participating in it.
-Good story, by the end I felt attached to the characters and wanted to spend more time with them. I may even get the Uncharted Collection just so I can have more of the Nathan Drake experience
-The game manages to lead you where to go, but not in an obnoxious way, every decision you make feels natural. Whenever you make a discovery, about what you should do next, you always feel like it was your decision, even though the game obviously led you there.
-Liked the mix of climbing, easy puzzle-solving and action.

The not-so good (for me at least)

-It was a little cutscene-heavy for my personal tastes
-Some of the story/dialogue was a little cheesy.
-Agree with the IGN critique that the last third of the game was a little bloated, I found myself getting impatient for the end.
-Bad guys are a little bullet spongy, but I guess you are too so it evens out.
-Didn't care for the epilogue chapter, but understand the need to wrap things up tidily for those who have been longtime fans of the series.

The story side is a masterpiece and demands much respect for a surprisingly emotional moment for fans and Nathan alike as it concludes.

Unfortunately, the master work of the singleplayer is brought down significantly by its multiplayer, which is a mediocre and boring setup that should have never been apart of the game. Offering meager modes, loot boxes, microtransactions and a season pass just feels like it's another game that fell to corporate greed and has blind fans ignoring this when they give it a 10/10. The combat and powerups in the multiplayer just feel like it's trying so hard to be like Gears meets Overwatch (in different ability kind of way) instead of just sticking to its Indiana Jones style. Definitely a great game, make no mistake but do not think it warrants a 10/10 with its multiplayer included.

Unfortunately this game does not make me want to retroactively experience the previous installments. This is not to say it is a bad game, because it is not that at all, I enjoyed my time with it and honestly understand why this game has such a loyal and loving fanbase.

For starters, this is one of the best looking games I have seen on console, this alone deserves a lot of praise because there were numerous times where I was looking out to a vista of mountains, trees, cities, and other landmarks and backgrounds, and I was genuinely frozen in place just looking at the scenery, not many games have made me do this, but this game sure as hell did. I have to hand it do the artists that designed the environments because it gave a new level of immersion and beauty.

The storytelling and narrative surrounding the game are very good, there are really genuine moments where the characters are interacting with each other and it feels real and cinematic, and gives the characters purpose and reason for their respective personalities. It also helps that the character's all had excellent voice actors across the board, Sam in particular, was a standout in my opinion, he was the character I sympathized with the most due to Troy Baker's excellent performance, and the writing team that created his narrative. Nathan, Elena, Sullivan, & Rafe were also well done and believable. Though, Nadine seemed completely out of place in the story, and I do not really understand what impact she really had on the narrative, if at all.

The gameplay is fun, for the most part, there are lots of little puzzles here and there that keep your brain working, and tons of traversing throughout the world through what seemed to be endless climbing with scripted sequences that were a bit too frequent for my taste, and became stale very quickly. This made many segments seem way too repetitive and uninteresting in some parts.

The gunplay in this game seemed awful to me, not because of the selection or effects, but because the enemies were absolute bullet sponges and were usually able to hit me while I was in cover, which became incredibly annoying. A lot of times when I tried to escape a bad situation, (like a grenade tossed near me or to adjust to a better position of cover) I would get caught on walls and ledges while trying to jump and dodge away from gunfire.

+ Visually, this game is a beautiful work of art
    + Great storyline
    + Excellent voice acting
    + Well written characters
+ Some very fun gameplay moments
    + Good soundtrack

    - Some boring & repetitive segments
    - Way too linear
    - Bullet sponge enemies
    - A lot of predictable scripted moments
    - Very awkward gunplay/cover mechanics

Overall, this is an excellent game with a strong narrative and some fun gameplay moments, that is aided mostly in the artistic design of the world around it, and while it was an enjoyable experience for the most part, it's awkward pacing and repetitive gameplay made it a chore for me to return to the game and complete it sometimes. Moral of this story is simply that this game was more of movie than an invigorating gameplay experience, and for that reason this game gets an 80 from me.

Uncharted 4 is a third-person Action/Adventure game developed by Naughty Dog and Published by Sony Entertainment for the Ps4. “`Uncharted 4: A thief's end” is the last game in the Uncharted Franchise. This game was released worldwide on May 10th 2016 and since then the game has received over 15 award since 2015 when is was first played.
A new copy of Uncharted 4 is currently listed around the $60 range but you may find some copies for cheaper. *Note, Uncharted is rated T for teens

Uncharted has many good characteristics, yet one of the biggest ones is its graphics. This title had amazing next-gen graphics that without close inspection it would look real. Naughty Dog made major improvements to Uncharted 4 from the previous Uncharted yet still making it look/feel like an uncharted game.

A thief's end” is the final game in the Uncharted Series that includes Nathan drake the main Protagonist. Throughout the series the acting of nathan drake and his crew have been on point from journey to journey. The story in Uncharted 4 is much more deep and focuses on the story behind Nathan Drake and how he came to be.
The improvements to this game's mechanics has improved drastically. These improvements include the newest item to the series which is the grappling hook. Other changes include the melee systems new takedowns, improved gun control, and a change in the crosshairs on the screen.

Although Uncharted was a fantastic game, nothings perfect. Uncharted Multiplayer contained most of the problems. Most of the game modes were great and felt like you were still playing Uncharted, but when it comes to the survival mode in Uncharted 4 it includes final boss at the end of each level. Most of these boss are usually mythological creatures that are not introduced in the story mode and players are confused in why they are fighting so i think this gamemode could use a little more explaining.

Overall, i thought that Uncharted 4 was a great game and i would definitely recommend you try this game because it has been one of my favorite games i have ever played.

The antagonist was, as per usual, forgettable. Naughty Dog seems to have difficulty finding Nathan's Joker. I wouldn't call it the best Uncharted in the series. The game can really slow down to a crawl at certain points. In The Last of Us, moments like these helped to tell the story of the world and also gave you a chance to gather supplies and what-not. In Uncharted this felt different; exploration was only rewarded with collectibles or optional conversations that did not contribute to the story. Uncharted really shines in its action driven, almost on-rail, combat sequences. Even though the game was the longest Uncharted yet, the action sequences were sparse to say the least. Another issue that I had was that the game relied very heavily on stealth, making combat feel more Assassin's Creed than Uncharted. Especially on higher difficulty levels i found myself hiding in yet another patch of tall grass, waiting for a non suspecting thug to come by. One of Uncharted's strong points, as always, are the graphics. This is one of the most visually pleasing games on the PS4 out there today. I haven't played the multiplayer, and (like most) probably never will. Definitely a buy for anyone who wants a solid single player experience accompanied by great graphics and sound. Expand

The strongest point in this game is of course it's story, from the beginning to the end there was never a dull moment at all. As a 3rd person shooter game, the stealth mechanics in this game is well done which in my opinion is a good thing since most of today triple a games don't really focus on the stealth mechanics in games. There are a few reason why i din't give this game a 10 out of 10 it because that some of chapter could feel a little too repetitive with how they drag out the game length with unnecessary obstacles which could be frustrating at times. The puzzle in the games is well design but there are a few puzzle which i personally think was too easy at times or just plain boring. Overall this game deserve the praise it gets and i think it's one of the few better 3rd person game out there. If you own a ps4, please do your self a favor and get this game. Expand

Uncharted 4 is a fitting conclusion to Nathan Drake's story that surpasses the other games in the series narratively, graphically and in the fluidity of the gameplay.

It has a different kind of pacing to its predecessors. It's longer and has more slow moments, but the story benefits from those moments. Seeing Nate and Elena living a normal life and the start of the game was really quite wholesome and I loved the references to the other games in the attic. The story beats focused on Nate's relationship with his long lost brother work especially well, but all around the writing and performances are top notch.

Graphically, I've got to say this is one of the most technically impressive games I've played. The detail on display is incredible, and the character models in particular are notably exceptional. There's some stunning scenes too. The improvements in graphical fidelity mean the game can only run at 30fps, unlike the other 3 games on PS4 which ran at 60, but it didn't really bother me.

I found Uncharted 4's gameplay mechanics to be more fun than it's predecessors too. The combat is more slick and fluid, and the climbing looks and feels better than ever. Nate reaches his hand out when he can make a jump leading to far fewer stupid deaths from misjudging things. The addition of the grappling hook is great. It's use leads to some very cinematic moments and again, it just feels good to use.

Not everything is perfect though. I mentioned the pacing towards the start of the review, and while it's great for the first two acts of the game, the third act kinda drags. Unlike the rest of the game which takes you through loads of different locations and blends action setpieces, flashbacks and other story moments well, the final act is all set on the same island. It feels a little bloated and overlong as a result, and with the exception of the game's, it's just not as exciting as the earlier moments of the game. A lot of the Uncharted 4's highlights come earlier on, like the Saint Dismas cross heist and the Madagascar car chase. Some of the better story moments come early on too.

Even though this is a much longer game than it's predecessors, there aren't as many memorable setpieces in this one. Yeah, this is a different style of Uncharted, and as I said the story does benefit from the different approach, but there are a couple of standout, amazing setpieces here and there was room for more. The Madagascar car chase is exhilarating, and I just wish there were more of these moments, especially in the repetitive third act. Even though I like the gameplay mechanics, they aren't put to as good a use as they could have been, as the game instead settles for the same cover based shooting sections we've played time and time again across the Uncharted series.

That said, I really enjoyed the ending of the game. After a cinematic and explosive finale, Uncharted 4 slows down and gives us one final look at the life of our protagonist and his wife Elena. It's a deservedly sweet ending and I'm happy with how they capped off Nate's story.

Just as a quick aside, I'd like to mention that there's also a multiplayer mode that's decent fun, and a co-op survival mode that's okay but nothing special.

Overall, I think this is my favourite Uncharted, but not by a huge margin, hence why I've scored both this and Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection an 8 out of 10. I have a couple of issues with Uncharted 4 but the strength of its story and characters, plus it's solid gameplay make this another great game.

The graphics in this game I have to say are probably some of if not the best every made in any video game and plays extremely smoothly at a solid 30FPS for the PS4, and with it's specs that is very impressive. I found myself sometimes simply just stopping to take a look at the landscapes as they were so incredibly and intricately designed. The story itself was compelling and I found myself wanting to play through to eventually find out what happens. However some sequences involved a lot of climbing... a lot of climbing. Especially in one of the areas you visit it's perhaps maybe 5 minutes of solid climbing up down and round walls with no real diversity apart from stunning views. This was the only aspect of the game that let it down, the unreliability aspect, I found myself just thinking "god can this act just end" at some points of the game. Stating that the forthcoming game will be the last rendezvous with a popular, charismatic hero is a rare phenomenon. I congratulate Naughty Dog on their courage and in spite of myself keep my fingers crossed for them to stick to their decision. The farewell party they threw for Nate is simply spectacular. This is how I want to remember him, not as an old man who rubbed his joints with pain cream and then found a UFO. Uncharted 4 is a brilliant game and a breathtaking demonstration of what PS4 is capable of. [07/2016, p.56]
