Story may not have any really surprising twists but I really enjoyed the way the story about the pirates who founded Libertaria unfolded, in my opinion it's probably the most compelling in the series. At it's core, gameplay is largely similar with refined tactics, it's still a fairly linear game but this time there are much bigger areas that you can explore, mostly for treasures and journal entries that expand the story, and in most cases this means you can also choose to get through entire sections undetected, or just go Rambo on everyone.

There aren't that many action set pieces this time, compared to Uncharted 2 for example, but some of them are just crazy and a chase scene in particular is just something that rivals the production values of any Hollywood movie you've seen, quite impressive.

I'm no big fan of competitive multiplayer in general, but I did enjoy the co-op survival mode. Overall, a great sequel with an ending that should keep every long time happy, and a superb action adventure game for those who didn't play the other games.

Uncharted 4 is a third-person Action/Adventure game developed by Naughty Dog and Published by Sony Entertainment for the Ps4. “`Uncharted 4: A thief's end” is the last game in the Uncharted Franchise. This game was released worldwide on May 10th 2016 and since then the game has received over 15 award since 2015 when is was first played.
A new copy of Uncharted 4 is currently listed around the $60 range but you may find some copies for cheaper. *Note, Uncharted is rated T for teens

Uncharted has many good characteristics, yet one of the biggest ones is its graphics. This title had amazing next-gen graphics that without close inspection it would look real. Naughty Dog made major improvements to Uncharted 4 from the previous Uncharted yet still making it look/feel like an uncharted game.

A thief's end” is the final game in the Uncharted Series that includes Nathan drake the main Protagonist. Throughout the series the acting of nathan drake and his crew have been on point from journey to journey. The story in Uncharted 4 is much more deep and focuses on the story behind Nathan Drake and how he came to be.
The improvements to this game's mechanics has improved drastically. These improvements include the newest item to the series which is the grappling hook. Other changes include the melee systems new takedowns, improved gun control, and a change in the crosshairs on the screen.

Although Uncharted was a fantastic game, nothings perfect. Uncharted Multiplayer contained most of the problems. Most of the game modes were great and felt like you were still playing Uncharted, but when it comes to the survival mode in Uncharted 4 it includes final boss at the end of each level. Most of these boss are usually mythological creatures that are not introduced in the story mode and players are confused in why they are fighting so i think this gamemode could use a little more explaining.

Overall, i thought that Uncharted 4 was a great game and i would definitely recommend you try this game because it has been one of my favorite games i have ever played.

(leaving the PC out of this) I was also surprised to see that the popular game, Uncharted 4 came with it. I didn’t know much about that game, except it had amazing graphics on the ps4, and that it was the ending of a certain series. So, my mom and grandparents bought me the first three games.
As I was playing the first game, I realized it was also kind of practice for me to learn how to use the controller. It didn’t take long for me to become an adept button masher, but there’s still times I hesitate and fail the game. Since I started with the Xbox 360 console, the ps4 controller is a bit harder to figure out. I’m more use to pressing B than a red circle. But having a frustrating controller isn’t the worst. I’m able to tolerate it because of the distracting game graphics. I mean, the second game looked as if it came out in 2013 rather than 2009.
A few of the games I own now have multiplayer. The fact that both the console developers and game developers were able to lap something so amazing into one, stunned me. The visuals, being able to communicate with other people you can relate to, and a clear frame rate with almost no glitches and lags.
I’m finally happy to have upgraded to ps4, but still a little upset that I had to leave all the progress I made on my xbox. The ps4 is worth it, and I can tell there are still amazing games waiting to be played. I can finally play with my friends and better my gaming skills. I encourage those pc gamers to give the console a shot, and extend their game options. And of course I recommend the ps4 to any and every person with opposable thumbs. (and all their other fingers)

All this will change when Sam the lost brother of Nathan returns asking Nate's help to find the treasure of Henry Avery the greatest treasure of pirate ever accumulated. We can see in this game a clear influence of Naughty Dog's experience on his previous success The Last Of Us in the development of the relationship between the characters that has never been so well explored in the series, as for the combat he keeps on like the previous games, Difference is in the exploration now in environments not so linear and with greater freedom.

The game is repetitive, not in a minute way that you notice frequently, but in bigger chunks - almost every grouping of 3 or 4 chapters includes a vehicle part, then a big puzzle, a shootout and an escape. The escapes are also pretty predictable - see a bridge? It'll collapse, and you'll get separated from your partner and have to find your own way up.

In a series way it follows many of the same tropes: you get a lead which turns out to be a clue that takes you somewhere else that takes you somewhere else and on and on until eventually it just is the spot you were looking for. It was a nice break that they didn't try to include the stupid supernatural thing they always seem to push.

The story is... fine. Initially it seems pretty exciting, albeit similar to previous games, but not boring. As time goes on the game takes a shot at a lofty "greed-destroys-all-partnerships" allegory, but its conclusion is not as impactful as it could have been. Not to mention the waning hours when you really just want to be done with the game but it drags you on about 2 hours start to focus on the awkward breakdown of Nathan and Elena's marriage, which maybe could pan out in a movie, but in an action game more akin to funny quips and light dialogue it seems very out of place.

I started to get really irritated with the game after about ten hours. They try to mix shooting with platforming to make it more exciting? I think? But what really ends up happening is that you focus on one or the other and the other one kills you; if you try to move into position to shoot you get shot and if you shoot too much you end up awkwardly jumping off of a cliff to your death. Additionally, some of the final exploration or quicktime platforming is either vague or so subtle that you'll almost definitely miss your cues and wander around or die immediately, ruining the tension of the moment.

When I think about it, there were lots of things I didn't like: combat is included pretty lightly and sporadically but is extremely difficult; in most cases you're much better off running about doing stealth kills than trying to fight, the platforming gets really old pretty quickly and becomes more of an obstacle to you making your objective than an enjoyable part of the game and the storytelling is just pretty been-there-done-that. On the other hand, the game does drive you along and make you want to finish it, the graphics are great, the load times are good, the characters interact in interesting ways and there are some good setpiece moments that make you feel the spark. Ultimately I feel like I played this game because I liked the other ones and Naughty Dog was mostly right that I would play this one.

But I like to remember the certainty of there being new, equally affecting experiences in the future. All our things used to not be there. Uncharted 2 was a very alluring prospect when it came to be. I trusted the praise of all the critics and fans. But it's not worth getting another console for one game. Not too long ago, I was at a friends house with a PS3. I searched through, and it was there(this is sounding like a 5th grade personal essay example. Difference is, I mean it). It felt surreal to have the opportunity to play it. Yet in a very real way I already experienced it. I held it in a high esteem for it's cinematic action that seemed to might even match that of the unparalleled Modern Warfare 2. I saw the E3 gameplay demos and read the reviews. I already had my opinion of Nathan Drake being a cocky protagonist that ignored the more recently realized moral aspects of killing. An EGM editor put it simply, that he is a mass murderer. But yeah, maybe saying "sweet" while grabbing an AK is just his easy-going self preservation. I managed to rush through a few chapters. I agree that it's 9 probably even 10 out of 10 material in 2009. Now it felt like a inoffensive run through of action and platforming mechanics and level design that Tomb Raider and others were happy to pick up. So when I recently bought a PS4, more in earnest of used games to play before the amazing looking upcoming exclusives, I wasn't really excited to play this game that was bundled in. Though right away, I was thankfully proven wrong. No, it didn't make any leap forwards in games like Spec Ops:The Lines crushing narrative or the incredible exploration of Skyrim. But the way Naughty Dog put it all together made it become a superior single player game. I still feel a little spoiled seeing the amazing graphics, which are combined with a more down to earth yet still stunning art style. The traversal mixed with open combat or fast initiative taking stealth felt like a new progression of 3rd Person action. Even from the announcement trailer with Nathan coming to in a dark and quiet setting, the game seemed to be more reserved than in the past. It gave the impression that this wasn't essential canon or had anything truly new. But especially towards the end, it makes up with huge explosive sequences that take on a higher level of power with modern graphics. The pg-13 Spielberg/Pirates of the Caribbean tone pervades throughout the game and is as important as the use of the gun play. This really is what makes it stand out among the ultra violent comparatively grim crowd. And that is a great strength. However there are times when the dialogue detracts from the mystery or grandeur. It hard to get invested in the scene when Nathan continually exclaims "Jesus!" or makes a dumb observation of Avery's work I had to mute the dialogue while repeating tough sections, which helped me get through. It's all over but I'm certain we'll all remember Nathan's adventures. Uncharted's light hearted tone really stands out to me when so much else that I love to play feels harsh when compared. Not too bad, maybe I'll try to have Nathans outlook on things. Expand

Whether you're looking for satifying storytelling, tense multiplayer, or a grand, treasure hunting adventure Uncharted 4 delivers. To make things even better it does so with some of the best graphics on the market.

Uncharted 4 is a gorgeous game. Naughty Dog has crafted some absolutely stunning scenery. The attention to detail in character animations and the the destruction of the game's set pieces make this a treat for the eyes. It's also a treat for the ears as well thanks to the excellent soundtrack and voice acting. The acting performances in this game required to bring the story and characters to life rival anything you can see on the big screen.

The story itself is an emotional ride. Seeing all these familiar faces again tugs at the heartstrings. Naughty fills the game with sweet moments between Drake and his brother, Elena, and even Sully. It serves as a powerful reminder as to why we fell in love with these characters in the first place. Naughty Dog manages to bring a satisfying conclusion to Drake's adventures.

From the gameplay side of things, everything is just as you would expect. Uncharted's mix of platforming, 3rd person cover shooting, and puzzle solving is still in place. This time around the environments are bigger leading to even more options in combat and more complex traversal scenarios. The only real change to Nate's parkour side is that now he has access to a grappling rope that allows him to do things like swing across large gaps. There are plenty of moments where you'll have to string it together with various other actions adding a little more spice to the standard platforming. Combat can get a little frustrating here and there thanks to enemies that have no problem bum rushing you. My favorite addtion to the gameplay has got to be the added emphasis on vehicles. Riding around the open (and gorgeous) Madagascar level and attacking various enemy outposts brought back fine memories of Halo. Looks like Sony might have taken a little inspiration from Microsoft's biggest series.

The multiplayer proves to be the best in the series yet. Tighter shooting, a nice selection of modes to set it apart, and excellent maps ensure for a satisfying competitive experience. The variety of tools you have at your disposal are great. The in-match currency you from things like kills allows you to have access to them in a way that feels fair and reasonable. The way the maps make use of the series' platforming mechanics allow for an even wider range of possibilities in combat. Players who take the time to learn everything are sure to be rewarded.

There's also a solid survival mode that's been added to the game since release. It doesn't really do anything different than your average horde mode clone, but it's still a decent distraction and genuinely rewards teamwork. Plus it comes with it's own set of trophies. It's a nice, if fairly unoriginal edition.

Overall Uncharted 4 is an excellent fairwell to Nathan Drake. Whether or not the series continues on from here with a new protagonist, Naughty Dog ensured that they sent of their original hero with a bang. It's not likely to disappoint fans and is a huge exclusive for the PS4. While not revolutionary, it's still a game that pulls out all the stops. Proving sometimes familiarity isn't a bad thing. At least not when it's executed this well.

I loved the childhood story beginning to the events that transpired. It is a james bond + tomb raider + indiana jones mashed together. Uncharted 4 could be a movie about brotherly kinship, relationships, and exciting adventures filled with danger and mystery.

I have not played the previous Uncharted games as I am a sucker for eye candy and since I started with something with big graphical improvements from past years I don't think I can invest the time to go backwards.

My gripes with the game are the same as they've always been with this franchise. Its B-movie Indiana Jones blockbuster aesthetic makes me feel like I've been hanging out on a Hollywood film set for 16 hours rather than truly transported to some exotic locale, as I did with the Tomb Raider series.

The gameplay, while fluid and polished to perfection, is starting to grow a little stale. It's a good hodge podge of tried-and-true elements of a contemporary action game, with free running, stealth, cover shooting and just a bit of physics based platforming thrown in for good measure. While it suffers a bit from that on-rails feeling of these linear, narrative-driven games, it does offer a couple of different paths through each section to give the player some agency.

In all though, only the updated grappling hook / rope felt fresh to this programmer's thumbs. Compared to the graphical innovations, a lot of these gameplay elements felt archaic. One hopes for the day when such colossal technical and artistic labor is in service to gameplay that's more interesting than "press x a lot to climb this building and be sure to shoot all the bad guys in the head."

Uncharted 2 was my favourite game of 2009. While Uncharted 3 was not as good for me as the 2nd part I liked it a lot too. So honestly 4th was my most anticipated game of 2016 (after RotTR). This game provides a great story, an excellent facial animation, a nice soundtrack and quite an engaging gameplay.

This game provides a great story, an excellent facial animation, a nice soundtrack and quite an engaging gameplay.

I have been waiting for a new Uncharted game since the release of the 3rd, but instead received a mixture of The Last Of Us and Uncharted. The game reminds it's predecessor - TLoU - in many ways. It is less dynamic than the previous Uncharted games. This was unexpected for me. I was prepared for a new dose of uninterrupted breathtaking action, but instead I have been provided with a quite calm and prudent game.
Similar thing happened with the latest game about Lara Croft. But that was an expected thing. Lara has always been more interested in an exploration than in a war. While Nathan Drake has always been a fortune hunter, who would not mind killing anyone between him and a treasure. But Uncharted 4 has a different setting. From time to time Drake is put in Joel shoes. That fact made the second half of the game a bit dim for me.

On the other hand, Uncharted 4 surpasses previous games of the franchise in many ways. But Uncharted 2 still remains my favourite Uncharted game - it includes a charismatic antagonist, easy mood and some kind of excitement - none of which the 4th part can provide.

As to the comparison with the new TR game, I personally prefer RotTR. These two games have some similarities - they both lowered the degree of action. But, from my point of view, ex UK developers made this conversion more seamless - they stretched action scenes with many interesting side-quests, hidden tombs and a lot of information about the gaming world (contained in documents, artifacts and enemy dialogs). While Uncharted developers didn't do quite as much to engage a player between action scenes.

In summary, Uncharted 4 is a stunning experience. I understand why some of gamers consider this game as the best game of 2016. But in my opinion it is not as polished as it could be. I think the developers could bring something more into the game to make it more complete. Though it showed a lot of things which can be implemented in the next Naughty Dog game (TLoU:PII) and make it the best game of the year again.

Eventually Uncharted 4 is a good ending to the Nathan Drake's story. I love this game, but can't say it is among my most favourite ones.

Also I just LMAO at all these fake negative reviews complaining about not enough options and exploration. They don't get that Uncharted 4 is all about Nate going with the flow, not mastering the environment with massive ability/weapon upgrades (which would've greatly slowed down the game's momentum). Instead Naughty Dog has taken the right risk at the right moment to make this game super awesome. For a game like this it's done exceptionally well and no other game comes close to that. Well maybe Call of Duty Black Ops1. So yeah this rollercoaster of a game deserves a 10/10. Expand

Uncharted 4: A Thief's Ending is a great game, and the technical benchmark of this generation so far.

The latest (last?) game in the series is different from its forebears. After the unparalleled reception and success of The Last of Us, Naughty Dog this time crafted a more human story instead of one with mindless heroics, and constructed the game around the tale of two brothers, Nathan and Sam Drake. The game's narrative takes place a few years after the conclusion of Uncharted 3, when Sam Drake suddenly appears and drags Nate into another treasure hunt, this time searching for the treasure of one famous Pirate. Elena and Sully return to accompany Nathan into his last (?) adventure. The story of the Pirates is inspired by historical facts and heavily exaggerated upon, but interesting nonetheless.

Gameplay is expanded upon the classic Uncharted formula. Now you can also slide the terrain, drive a jeep, and use a grappling hook in order to either climb or swing in the air, but the ability to pick up grenades and throw them back (as seen in Uncharted 3) has sadly been removed. Stealth is expanded relative to past games, and in higher difficulties it's vital. The levels are far more open and layered, while also featuring multiple paths. Pacing is varied, there are sections with full on action and others with peaceful exploration. The AI, both friendly and enemy, is much improved, and enemies try to co-operate to hunt you down when alerted.

Graphics are the game's best aspect. Every animation, every model, every texture, every leaf and tree and grass is highly detailed and best in class. The image is clean (no pixel shimmering), aliasing is minimal, and frame rate is very stable. There are also various graphical filters and modes, such as zero gravity and cel shading. Congratulations, Naughty Dog!

Sound is also great. All the characters are voiced superbly. Sound FX are perfect, and the soundtrack is just what the game needs. The Uncharted theme is timeless. Naughty Dog have also given us the most varied sound options, and the 7.1 surround support is phenomenal.

Multiplayer is also great, running at 60 fps. Naughty Dog should be applauded for its multiplayer suites, but don't get enough credit for their work. After the Factions multiplayer in The Last of Us, Uncharted 4's online mode is fantastic, with various modes and maps. They even added a new co-op Survival mode for free, essentially a Gears of War-like Horde mode for 3 players versus waves of enemies. People complained that the Uncharted collection had ditched the multiplayer of Uncharted 2 and 3, so Naughty Dog have recently added a map from Uncharted 2 (who knows, maybe we will get more of those in the future) to make up for it. It's the same layout as before but it has been upgraded to match the graphics of Uncharted 4.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's Ending is one of the best games ever made. Buy it and enjoy!

And the Best part is that there are multiple options for you to go on the same destination and in every option you get different view and different things to explore.
This time in Uncharted there are 2 options, either start shooting and killing everyone or play smart by tagging as much enemies as you can and go in Full Stealth Mode. And Uncharted can not be Uncharted if it doesn't have puzzles to solve. Every Puzzle feel different from other and solving them makes you feel really smart.
There's so much stuff that I can say about Uncharted 4 that are amazing but there are also two Bad things about this game. First thing that I didn't liked was, when Naughty Dog reveal that you will have dialog options, I mean you only get 2 or 3 times in this whole game and those options were not even so much important and we all were thinking that it will be like telltale that you get to choose the story line. The Second thing that I didn't liked about Uncharted 4 was the ending, I mean they created so much hype that this is the last chapter for Nathan Drake and in this game He will be challenge Physically & Emotionally. Physically, Yes He was challenged but no way he was challenged Emotionally so this really bugged me.
Despite these 2 issues its a Fantastic game with Amazing Graphics, Gameplay and Designs. Overall its a MASTERPIECE and A MUST BUY GAME.

The game play is fun, action packed, and it makes you use your brain alot more than other games lately. The story is gripping, you get real connections with characters, and it plays out like a movie.

Like the other Uncharted games you are basically Indiana Jones fused with Lara Croft in the search of lost treasure, the game does an excellent job of laying out the story, character progression, and geniuly makes you care about the characters like they are real people. You will often laugh at their lame "Dad jokes", or other things they say and do.

Now that being said where this game really hits the mark is in game play mechanics you can shift between a stealthy approach or an action approach which you will find both very challenging. The Ai is very smart in their approach to attacking you. Also your Ai "Partners" will contribute to the fights.

Now the game isn't "Open world" you are set on a linear path with some variations here and there, but the game will make you forget about that.

Defiantly worth your money, if this is your first Uncharted game there are several youtube videos that will "Catch you up" on the story of the first 3 games.

The various environments and landscapes are simply stunning, integrating top-tier graphics with both scope and detail. The story is provocative and well written, the dialogue is engaging, and the transitions between game-play and cut-scenes are seamless. The mechanics are fun and easy, with simple and sensible controls. The A.I. is intelligent and will operate as a cohesive unit to surround and destroy you. You can approach enemy strongholds as a stealth assassin, or guns blazing. Both strategies are rewarding and challenging for different reasons.

I’m docking 2 points because the game-play is very repetitive at times. The bulk of your adventure can be reduced to very simple formula: climb, jump, swing, kill a group of bad guys, repeat. The developers could have opened up the environment a bit, giving us a choice between a variety of right and wrong paths to a given destination. As the game unfolds, it becomes increasingly obvious which cliffs you’re suppose to scale, which ledges you’re suppose to climb, and which paths you're suppose to walk. This becomes monotonous, and begins to feel like wasted time sandwiched between important events. Aside from that, A Thief’s End is a uniquely rewarding experience that is a must have for fans of the franchise…or any fan of well-crafted games.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Uncharted 4 has the most beautiful and engaging settings with a really enjoyable story.

The locations in this game were varied and stunning. Unlike previous Uncharted games this has a more realistic plot thankfully without any supernatural elements! The level design is phenomenal, I stopped to take lots of photo's, which I very rarely do normally. The atmosphere peaks at the end when you walk amongst the cadavers piecing together their stories from scrolls. To be the first to uncover the horror and decay in such a lush environment is enthralling.

Hunting pirate treasure may be a simple plot but its an exciting theme well executed. By chance I happened to be watching Black Sails at the same time, this complemented the game really nicely. In the TV Series, Henry Avery is a legendary figure and you see the rise of certain new pirates. In the game you are searching for Avery's treasure and learn the eventual fate of some of these pirates. Experiencing both together is an awesome Assassin's Creed-esk moment!

Oh and the PS1 moment had me grinning from ear to ear!

This game tones in the more far-fetched aspects of its predecessors nicely and whilst the gameplay is good, I hope you like climbing! Its defining features are a great story and probably the most stunning visuals of any video game to date. Even more they manage to fill the game with humour, secrets and nostalgic nods.

I’m usually not very fond of such titles, as they can often get lost in their movie-wannabe aspirations to the point of severely affecting the gameplay. Uncharted 4, however, won me over by combining pristine level design with an unusually slick amalgamation of gameplay and storytelling.

Like other games in the franchise, A Thief’s End is a linear story-driven adventure. It puts you in the shoes of Nathan Drake, who’s like a modern-era Indiana Jones (a somewhat smug, yet ultimately likeable treasure hunter). As the game begins, Drake has left his globe-trotting life behind him, and now has a happy marriage, a job, and a pretty much regular life. Of course, that generally does not a good story make, and soon enough unforeseen circumstances force our hero out of retirement.

My favorite thing about Uncharted 4 is how it manages to feel open and expansive in spite of its extreme linearity. The game spans many settings, from Italy to Scotland to Madagascar, and your path to each section’s main goal is filled with small environmental details and incredibly beautiful vistas. The nature of the gameplay organically guides you forward, and there’s not a single invisible wall to be seen. All of this adds up to a great sense of immersion, which is only broken by having to go through the same in-game dialogue each time you die.

There are basically two types of gameplay sections here. The best are focused on exploration, in which you’ll perform all sort of dexterous climbing and platforming, while continuously moving towards a goal. There are also collectibles to find in each area in the form of small treasures, which unlock cool novelties in the ‘bonus’ screen, such as graphical skins, sound effects, and gameplay addons.

The not so great sections are the ones which involve cover-based shooting. Don’t get me wrong; those can be kind of fun in small doses, but I felt Uncharted 4 features a bit too many of them. A plethora of different weapons, each with its own benefits and weaknesses, help to make things a bit more interesting, and there are a few genuinely exhillarating moments (such as a car chase that’s worthy of the most insane action flicks).

Of course, we’re talking about a story-driven game, so an action movie is very much what Uncharted 4 feels like. Surprisingly, this isn’t often to the detriment of the gameplay, as the spot-on level design means even the extreme action sections in which you don’t really do much feel superbly rewarding. The story itself is, well, an action movie’s story, meaning it’s at times fun and compelling, but also filled with some pretty egregious plot holes (such as the remote, ancient pirate recruiting challenge that obviously would need to be rebuilt from the ground up after each time someone failed it).

    TL;DR
Uncharted 4 is a fine final chapter to Nathan Drake’s adventures. The sense of immersion is excellent, which often makes you forget (or just don’t care about) the game’s lack of an extensive world to explore. Given that the best gameplay sections are precisely the exploratory ones, this is quite a feat of game design. Even though the storytelling isn’t without its cheap devices and plot holes, the writing is pleasant enough to round up a very nice package.

The story is much grittier as it loses a lot of the supernatural elements that the previous games had, which makes the story and the characters much more believable. I don't want to spoil too much but in you adventure you will see all sorts of beautiful land scape from snowy mountains to lush jungles. The game is also filled with the best action set pieces of the series and any game ever. Did I also mention that it's pretty much the prettiest game on console?

Overall the game is a masterpiece with amazing moment to moment gameplay and an unforgettable story. It is the perfect ending for the Uncharted series.

In my opinion, GOTY 2016. Well crafted narrative story and the gameplay mechanics are so fluid. The AI companion is very good just like in The Last of Us. The only negative I can really say about this game is the occasional dip in fps. Other than that, you're definitely missing out on a fantastic game if you have not played it.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Uncharted 4 is a game that generated a stir, immediately. Many were waiting for it, others didn't think it was necessary. The important thing, as far as I'm concerned, is that it came out of a good game. A masterpiece, of course, but this doesn't mean it's perfect.

The narrative and the plot are very nice. It is strange to see the good Nathan Drake abandoned to the quiet life, to the common routine of everyday life. But this is the price you pay if you love someone, and if you want to make someone happy. Waived the risk, the unbridled pursuit, the adventure for Elena, the woman he loves ... and yet fails to be completely happy, because things are not supposed to be like that. The arrival of his brother, Sam, represents an escape, a new opportunity to get involved, once again, in an ultimate adventure; and it was quite predictable that the story told by Sam, about Alcázar, was a lie and nothing but a mere excuse to live an adventure with his brother. I also found this interesting similarity between the pirates of yesterday and today's pirates, those who rebel against the legal and everyday life, to find a different reason to live. This is Nathan Drake. It isn't a case of how he and Rafe eventually collide and fight with two swords, just like the pirates Avery and Tew did four centuries before, in the same place. A history of pirates. The parts of the plot acclimatized in the past of Drake, provide further revelations and seem to be very consistent, but one thing I didn't expect is the final, set in the future, with Cassie, the daughter of Elena and Nathan (one thing clearly inspired by The Last of Us). A nice ending to a good story.

Uncharted 4's gameplay is purely classic, as in previous chapters, where the only change is represented by the grappling hook, allowing, where possible, to create more dynamic fights. Classical mechanics, seem mostly improved, stealth is good, feedback of weapons works well and close combat is nice. The maps, in some sections, clearly have a much larger design, and make possible different approaches; however the game is completely driven, but I personally didn't ask much more. The sections on vehicles are well made and funny, and finally a decent boss-battle has been added, after the ridiculous "fist fight" between Nate and Talbot, in Drake's Deception. The longevity of the game is much improved compared to the third chapter, and now it seems to have really faced a long, beautiful, but tiring trip. As for the plot, the gameplay it seemed influenced by The Last of Us, and is clearly visible.

Graphically the game is spectacular and with good fluidity, seems to really push PlayStation 4. However in 2009, Uncharted 2, which pushed PlayStation 3, had no obvious fremarate declines in most messed up moments, as happens in Uncharted 4. The direction art is great and the soundtrack is quite nice.

What on which I would like to reflect, however, is the concept of "maturity" in Uncharted 4, on which Druckmann and Naughty Dog talked a lot. As is clear, the game is influenced by The Last of Us, but this is very controversial. In Uncharted 4, have been removed monsters and supernatural reference. Why? They were good, but I think Naughty Dog found them simply "nonsense things" and "childish tales" and then they decided to remove it, to give the game a bit of maturity. And no, Infected in TLOU are not the same thing. Another example is the different soundtrack's approach: there is no main theme (that I consider sacred in the saga), as if a silent menu, as in TLOU, with a skeleton in a cage, is "badass" or "more mature". I disagree with that, this is not maturity. We want to talk about maturity? Good, then why if Nate shoots an enemy in the head with a shotgun, enemy's head doesn't open like a pulped melon? And this happened in The Last of Us, a game released 3 years before on PlayStation 3. Where is the maturity in this? Where's the violence? And do not hide behind the fact that TLOU is post-apocalyptic and violent, while Uncharted is not; because in both worlds there is a thing called "matter", and if you shoot something, something will receive a noticeable damage. This is maturity, this is gameplay with physics and realism. They would have to choose better what to take from The Last of Us.

Personally, Uncharted 4 closes the saga in a great way, and I hope it is the definitive end. Among Thieves is still my favorite chapter, because it was a real change for the saga and because to be a game released in 2009 on PlayStation 3, it was extraordinary. Uncharted 4 is still higher than the first and third chapter, but Naughty Dog could learn much more from The Last of Us and let other things as they were. It's not a perfect mix, but it's a masterpiece anyway.

Presentation is amazing but the gameplay is lacking. The combat is fun but broken on higher difficulties (since you can no longer go crazy and swing into enemies etc...), the exploration and climbing sections are boring.

I also found the story to be very average so I got bored quickly with the enormous amount of cinematics, especially in the beginning.

Uncharted 4's arguments are its graphics, and its attention to detail. Background music, background noise, beautiful interiors, light effects, characters animation, faces, dialogues. All of this is a success.

Unfortunately, those elements are obviously to the detriment of a 30fps framerate, however it will not bother the vast majority of gamers. Also, the PS4 makes a terrible noise

Also, the PS4 makes a terrible noise when running U4.
Some gameplay aspects could've been better, like infiltration phases that feel unrealistic most of the time.
There are certain moments of the story that are too predictable, but in general the scenario is good.

Multiplayer mode, which runs at 60fps, is therefore less good-looking and is very basic. All of my friends who played U4 almost ignored it.

To resume, it's a good solo game with a decent longevity and good graphics, but it remains pretty basic.

And the closure that undying UC fans got is brilliant.

However, NOTE: Don't go into this game expecting crazy choices and freedom. It's a very linear game (some illusion of choice here and there, alternate paths from place to place) with a lot of quick time events. But ND does this so well and it suits this game. Well, to be serious, as a player who played the first 3 games of the series, this game is the perfect ending you could ever give to the legendary Nathan Drake on his adventuring games. The perfect formula to do it? Well just let him team up with his long lost older brother Sam and have them start and adventure to find the treasure they dream of getting in their childhood days. The campaign gives you a very good pace of how the story moves, from the prologue's adrenaline rush chasing to the end's somewhat relaxing and laid back tone. All in all, The guys who made The Last of Us also made another Masterpiece in Naughty Dogs. A 10/10 for sure in this aspect.

Gameplay - The game borrowed some elements from the Tomb raider series using that rope mechanic in platforming. However. Its not that really bad since the game used it in very complex areas of the game. The gameplay of the series gives you a perfect blend of various and different gameplays we all gamers experienced and played like the game Signature platforming where we accustomed to see how Drake's athleticism easily get by those many traps, there is also a shooter based mechanic, a melee combat which obviously borrowed from TLOU, Stealth, chasing sequences and exploration. As a gamer, its really nice to enjoy all that in a single game. A good 10/10 again for me.

Multiplayer - Now for me, I think Naughty Dog just put this in here so that you know, Gamers can have multiplayer in the game. Its not bad though tbh, But its not that good either. The modes could get funny sometimes and interesting but the single player campaign really is the strength of the game. An ok 8/10 for me.

    Total = 9

Sorry. Its my principle to never give a perfect score. There are no perfect games for me. Everything has a weakness even how small. Regardless, An obvious GOTY contender of the year if not THE Leading of the pack for that award. A memorable and epic experience was given to us by Naughty Dog for an ending of a beloved franchise. Uncharted 4 is one of the best action game ever created. The story doesn't have the same emotional impact of The Last of Us, but it bravely focuses on the characters and their relationships. On the other hand, the tension, the diversity

I just couldn't bring myself to knock the 10 to a 9 for the hit-and-miss multiplayer, who the **** cares?!

I have just completed Uncharted 4, and I've very few negative words in my mouth, head or anywhere. It was nothing short of mind blowing, with some of the most memorable set pieces I've ever played - and I'm a 35 yr old that's played all sorts since my ZX Spectrum days. I don't

I don't want to add spoilers, if you know the series, this is more of the same to a clearly higher spec. A few sequences in the game were literally the most impressive graphics I've ever seen in this generation. The action runs alongside such brilliant voice acting and landscapes that I wish I could wake up in. Just beautifully done.

I am struggling to understand what some gamers expect from an Uncharted game, and as to how the hell anyone can rate this game a 7/10 or below, let alone a ZERO. Another game viciously hit by sulking xbox gamers perhaps? People moaning about cut-scenes - there's a button to skip them!! That said, i didnt skip a word, by chapter 7 I was so deeply hooked in lore, characters and events that I wanted to watch every doubt roll across drakes face, or every skit of banter between the gang. It really is so immersive as it's so brilliantly written and executed.

I never fancied Uncharted 1 and 2 back in PS3 days, no idea why, I was hooked on other games and felt the series wasn't for me, without playing them. Probably a lot to do with its negative reviews from tw@s saying its a movie you click buttons in occasionally. I got Uncharted 3 first after completing The Last of Us and having that void in my life for naughty dog games immediately afterwards (which is very much present right now after uncharted 4). Very few games grip me this way, stories twists and character development leave me often speechless, and eager to see whats coming next.

The mechanics are not a million miles from U3. The shooting mechanic has vastly improved and the AI seems a lot brighter, often charging or flanking to compromise cover. This results in a more active shooting experience than I recently played in the tomb raider new games. As I progressed I really pushed the limits and by chapter 13, I found myself using anything in the scenery to swing from to get a new advantage point. On a harder level, this really pays off and looks extremely cool at the same time!

I just dont have anything negative to say about this game. It's well written, made with a lot of love, made with fans in mind, polished to an extremely high standard - to date - the best the PS4 has to offer, and it is very VERY fun to play. I'm glad I waited for a price drop, but I'd have bought it at £55 had I known it would be so darn good!

Ignore the trolls, Xbone fanboys and idiots... this game is a masterpiece. 10/10 all day long

    THE GOOD
    - Awe-inspiring stunning graphics
    - Many detailed locations in different atmospheres - Good story telling - The combat is genuinely challenging at "Crushing" difficulty level which is the toughest. The AI will always try to flank you and barrage you with lots of grenades. THE BAD - Very short game for a triple A title (it can be beaten in less than 6 hours) -

    THE BAD
    - Very short game for a triple A title (it can be beaten in less than 6 hours)
    - Frustratingly linear game design. You simply can't get lost or do anything other than the main story.
    - Dated gaming system and repetitive game mechanics (brace yourself for lots and lot of climbing)

    FINAL WORDS
While I appreciate the effort they've put into creating a stunning looking game and the engaging characters, I see this game as a demonstration of PS4 rendering prowess without genuine essence. I certainly enjoyed it but it lacks so much in comparison to the Witcher III for instance. I recommend it but don't expect the game to live up to the hype.

This is my favorite frenchize, I can only say one negative thing about it. I wish it was not so linear. Naughty dog makes great games and I played all of them, but their games have a tendency to be very linear. Anyway it's a must have in any PS4 collection!

Something is fishy with all of the 10 and 0 reviews. This game is not perfect nor is it abysmal. While the graphics are stunning, that does not make a great game. The gameplay is not the best as it typically goes: climb **** shoot people, cutscene over and over. Story was not very captivating neither were any of the characters. Multiplayer was not as fun as, say, Last of Us. Overall, itSomething is fishy with all of the 10 and 0 reviews. This game is not perfect nor is it abysmal. Uncharted 4 is a landmark title that anyone remotely interested in interactive storytelling should invest in. Naughty Dog has once again raised the bar across the industry. Thrilling shootouts, a staggering level of detail, breathtaking visuals and emotional depth come together to make Uncharted 4: A Thief's End a must-play masterpiece.

Stating that the forthcoming game will be the last rendezvous with a popular, charismatic hero is a rare phenomenon. I congratulate Naughty Dog on their courage and in spite of myself keep my fingers crossed for them to stick to their decision. The farewell party they threw for Nate is simply spectacular. This is how I want to remember him, not as an old man who rubbed his joints with pain cream and then found a UFO. Uncharted 4 is a brilliant game and a breathtaking demonstration of what PS4 is capable of. [07/2016, p.56]

Whiteknuckle action, captivating characters, and luscious locales - the best Uncharted yet. [June 2016, p.64]
