This is a great game. New MMO favorite for consoles. Good graphics combined with an excellent action game. Passage of missions in high complexity causes strain even seasoned players.

Ok, first of all... Yes, the graphics have been downgraded but to give this game a 0 just because of this makes you a complete ***. I love this game. Started playing is as soon as it arrived and before I knew it, 3 hours were already past. I would gave it an 8 but I will give it a 10 to compensate for all the *** who gave it a 0.

This is the first game Ubisoft didnt screw up entirely. 4 hours in and i feel like I've only scratched the surface. Rich environment and somewhat decent story. The darkzone is tons of fun with friends.

This game isn't much fun. Combat is lackluster- it plays like Mass Effect but you don't have as many things to do in combat and the enemies are boring. I went from hyped for the release to tired of the game in about two hours. Will continue to play to see if things get more interesting, but I don't have much hope at this stage.

Other then issues that will always be present at the launch of a AAA title, the game is very fun.

Positives: - Gun mechanics are very satisfying. Gives advantage to those who burst fire - Large amount of equipment and weapon customisation - Map feels very large - Very good and intuitive COOP pairing Negatives - Lack of MIC indicator for players - Lack of Character customisation

The very definition of mediocrity. Bland mechanics, shooting feels uninspired, missions are mind-numbingly repetitive. An unsuccessful mishmash of tactical shooting, RPG, and MMO; Ubi should have picked one and stuck with it. Wait for this game to drop in price, or borrow from a friend.

More fun than a COD retread. Its a good looking game. The guns are awesome. No lag. I cant wait to score another sweet piece of loot. Totally addicting.

This game is amazing, love the setting being in modern New York while nowadays so many RPGs being fantasy based. But it is very fun and have a good amount of content, love the amount of real life guns and customizable mods, I loved borderlands and this game is kind of similar in the loot system and leveling up. I wasn't that excited when I buy this game only because my friend wanted to get it but it seems to exceed my expectations.
I really appreciate this game being a coop campaign and can everything play entirely with friends, now a lot of developers become lazy and doesn't even include a single player campaign or coop elements. (star war, rainbow six) much more social compared to shooter rpg like fallout.. however the map as usual in ubisoft always shows too many points of interest in the map which strips away the fun and unknown excitement of exploration.
Overall a very impressive third person shooter RPG, would really prefer it to be FPS!

This game had a lot of hype and delays. If you're like me and didn't follow it and are taking this game at face value, it's a great game. Fantastic graphics and in-game UI, gunplay is very fun, world feels rich and alive with the random civilian encounters and passing conversations, and best of all (for me) they seem to have struck a perfect balance between the RPG and shooter elements.

They activated me, a Division agent, in the world's darkest hour. The time had come. I left my wife and child behind, and headed for the nightmare that New York City had become. I didn't know if I'd ever see them again. I had my orders.

    My mission? Simple.

Try on every beanie hat and scarf in the city.

Fast forward several years and rumors of graphical downgrades ala Watch Dogs and lackluster looking alpha build videos I decided against preordering and honestly didn't even plan on purchasing this game. However, Ubisoft has surprisingly lived up to the hype this time with an extremely addictive and innovative squad shooter/RPG online hybrid with a fully fleshed out 26 chapter long single player with a story that keeps you going. And the way the game looks and sounds? Let's just say that the original E3 teaser footage really wasn't too far off--the graphics in The Division are simply stunning. Post-apocalyptic NYC is gorgeously rendered with sharp textures, realistic lighting, and amazing weather effects. I was really skeptical about this game but now after buying it and playing it, I'm totally sold. The Division ROCKS!!!!!!! Expand

This game still feels like beta. Minimal character creation.
AI still needs lots of work, for a cover shooter you don't need cover most of the time (boss fights you need cover but you're plagued with bullet sponges.

Although it's better than destiny launch, its going in the same path, with minimal launch content, vague payed DLC.

Three years waiting and The Division finally comes. And I have to say that this game is a masterpiece. Beautiful graphics, environment full of things, objects, crashed cars, realistic weapons, complete gear customization, very nice narrative. So let the apocalypse begin and just enjoy it!

I've played a good 15 hours and I feel i'm ready to add my 2 cents in regards to this game.

Pros: *Quality graphics. New York looks stunning on a good set. I have a 4k TV which makes stuff on the screen stand out. *Matchmaking. No longer like Destiny when starting campaign. You have the ability to look for up to 4 players to play with on a mission. *Hardly any loading. *Controls

    *Hardly any loading.
*Controls are fluid for the most part.
    *Lots of weapons and mods.

    Cons
*Graphics. Not as good as they once showed it in E3.
    *Online only. No offline mode.
*Not a true MMO. Limited w/ 15 players in "virtual areas", can only co op w/ 4 players.
*Bullet sponge. I don't care if you have teflon coated armor times 10 on your person, it doesn't take 30-40 bullets from an AR to kill said person, especially w/ headshots
*bugs and glitches. There are many, trust me. There's a particular bug where you can grief someone from entering the safe house.
    *Verify Identity. Really?
*26 missions. I'm almost done w/ the game.
*Grindfest. You go to point A to point B, kill enemies, kill bosses, collect loot, repeat.

I was left underwhelmed from what I originally saw. Maybe it was all the hype and I expected this game to be more than expected, but nope. This game is bland and quite honestly, I don't see myself playing it past this week. I'll end up selling it on craigslist or ebay. It's like I basically rented it for the week.

Basically if you liked destiny at launch its more of that. The game had decent enough shooting but that's basically it. The game lacks depth and once you hit level 30 and get the best gear, there is no reason to continue. It's good for about 1 playthrough of the story then your done, which i personally feel isn't worth it.

This game deserve all the hype it has around it. Seriously, it's a blast. It's a lot of fun, DZ is fun as hell, just need a bit more tuning but overall, it's pretty good. Finally a pvp zone where your actions have consequences.

Amazing game, great playability, RPG system and shooter/mobility mechanics. Can't judge on the story so far, but for what I have the chance to taste it seems like it's going to tons of fun. The PvP system at the DarkZone is simply amazing, the guy that had came up with the idea should get an Oscar.

Shame on the server problems at launch but I hope Ubisoft seize the opportunity and don't

The games cover system feels clunky and unsmoothed in fact a number of elements feel clunky. The menus can be incredibly difficult to read and this is on a 40 inch tv so must be terrible on standard tvs.

Enemies tend to be complete bullet sponges and the environments are unengaging and just dull.

All that being said it can be fun to play with a couple of friends but it won't keep you entertained in the long term.

In a world where flamethrowers are available on every corner for ever npc but not for you. People can take repeated headshots and the solution to all of lifes problems is shoot some more people the division just doesnt live up to the hype. Certainly not worth full asking price.

The Division is a long way off a great game with so many strange design choices and faults, but it's still fun to aimlessly run around ruined New York with friends completing missions, even if the overarching purpose of the whole thing is somewhat nebulous.

Officially, I would give my first impressions of this game a 9.75. A 9.75 because I know it feels like the engagements are hindered by a cover system thats not as fluid as it should be. Outside that, the game is pretty awesome so far. I've seen a review or two saying it's shallow. No clue what game they're playing, but the reviews saying there's an airtight plot feel a bit farfetched.Officially, I would give my first impressions of this game a 9.75. The Division was a games that promised more than it could actually provide. There was a huge hype train for this game and many people considered it as a "modern" version of Destiny. The gameplay is is very fun for the first couple hours until it becomes very repetitive and the graphics are average and definitely way worse than the graphics we saw in all of the trailers at E3 before the game was released. The combat feels like a generic cover-based 3rd person shooter. The voice acting is not that good and sounds very dull. Even at 30fps, the game still has many frame rate drops on consoles and the open world does not feel that "natural" and feels more artificial and fake. It is pretty empty. The character customization is average but not the best. But players can still look unique among others. The game had a great idea but was put in the hands of the wrong developer which is what my opinion is. So much content is being locked out and put in 3 expansions! However, I have hope that with further updates, this game still has potential to be a great game. But for now, this game needs plenty of improvement. Thank you for reading this review! :)

That's the essential nature, and essential problem, of The Division's underlying structure. It's asking you to hunt gear with no tangible reward in terms of what you can do, how you do it, or what you look like doing it. [May 2016, p.108]

It builds a strong foundation on the gameplay front, offering up rewarding combat and simple skills, but doesn’t follow that with anything substantial, being content to let the standard end game grind and excellent-yet-stressful PVP try to cover all the questions its writing leaves you with.
