Take a bit of Skyrim, Red Dead Redemption, The Wolf Among Us and add following ingrediences: most beautiful and dense open World ever created, World map is very big and full of content. Almost no loading screens!

Every side quest is fun and interesting, never once was a I bored with a quest or felt like it was just another fetch and return.

Graphics are great on the PS4, faces especially are amazing and the textures on clothing and armour have never looked so real imo. Some things lack that detail like grass but that really is just nit picking on some peoples part.

    Bad:

I found the skill tree seriously lacking and I never looked forward to leveling up and often found I had not even noticed and there was several skill points waiting to be allocated. There is some good stuff in there.

Yrden(trap) is useful once you invest heavily it has a dot effect and is good for crowd control.
Iign has a very cool firestream ability later in the line.
Bomb making can expand the slots to hold 8 bombs and turn them into cluster blombs. There is also a skill to make Geralt deflect and parry arrows.

Other than that most of the skill tree is 1% here and 2% there which you expect in some RPGs but that kind of thing makes up the majority of Geralts leveling. Mutagens used to be very rare and extremely powerful things that would give Geralt unique perks or talents now just about every monster drops them and they do little more than increase a stat. Some can make potions that are on a whole not especially useful imo.

    MILD ENDING SPOILER.

For the game plus the game reverts to your save world before you start the last chapter which I found really disappointing since I was looking forward to exploring the world after the finale and hoping more high level quests and contracts would be opened up.

    Summary:
Despite feeling the leveling up was kind of dull everything else kept me fully immersed in the game and as I said I mostly forgot about the leveling up, which is made up for by the amount of great and unique gear you can loot and craft.

First of all the story telling in this game is one of the best I have ever experienced. The main story is very good paced. The Baron quest line is one of the best in RPG games ever. The story is so full of emotions, tough decisions and twists. Every quest has a story and a background and always two or sometimes even more ways to end it.
The World of the Witcher is vast and rich with encounters, NPC and more. You got big cities, small villages, forts and ruins to explore. Caves and mountain tops to discover. Yes it has zones it's not one big open world game but one thing in it what is amazing. No loading screens. Enter a cave? A house? A City? A castle? No loading screen! This is how you should do it.
Combat is very fluid and you can do it how you want it. Sword fighting, signs (aka magic), potions, traps and bombs. Fast and sneaky or slow and tanky? You can play it how you want it.
There is a lot more equipment and upgrades then in previous games. Swords, axes, crossbows and a lot of different armor parts to chose from. You have different armor sets that are tied in to quests and give you some back story to different Witcher schools.
Graphic wise Witcher 3 is the best looking game in 2015 period. Yes on PC it requires a powerful machine but on console you still get a medium to high experience. The game just looks beautiful. The character models, the landscape and weather effects. Lightning effects and shadows are amazing. And every zone has its own look and feel to it.
All and all a great game and one of the best RPG in gaming history. The best game of this year by a mile.

Dozens and dozens of main quests and side quests its never ending. Not to mention just exploring the beautiful but dangerous world looking for all the cool armor schematics and all the other cool collectibles.

Graphics are excellent, characters, foreground and background. Awesome voice actors as well. Mostly old English accents. The story line is incredible. So adult and mature and ever exciting. As other people have said the attention to detail on this game is ridiculous. Unlike some RPG's, you are well rewarded for completing all the side quests and Witcher contracts.

Levelling up is top class. You have the choice on which area to use your reward points, combat, magic, character etc etc. I could go on forever. When modern game developers are seemingly always in a hurry to rush out a poor game for a quick buck, you can just feel how much effort has been put into making this game it almost feels a privilege to play it.

Well done to the guys in Poland at CD Projekt Red, you have set the bar for all future RPG's. A well deserved 10/10 from me!

The game was looking alot more solid that the previous ones. Doing the story is less my concern, because the free-roaming scale looking area makes you wanna go anywhere you wanted to be...

It's obvious that Wild Hunt will be delivering something that it's been expected, and it's impressed me alot...

This game wasn't on my radar at first but it intrigued me so I picked it up and I'm glad I did. I'm so tempted to give this game a 10 but there are a couple of problems that can't be excused like the controls under water being unbearable and the camera being unreliable at times. It's a great game with lots to do and everything has a stroy that is well thought out and interesting.

    3. CDPR says it will have multiple ending, well just forget that. Don't expect it too much.
    4. Side quests is well designed, and it sometimes effect the main story line.
    5. 200+ hours of gameplay is true, but most of time you just roaming around. The main story costs about 20+ hours depends on you.

    Gameplay
    1. Each skills have 2~3 variety, but you spend most of skill point on increase the strength.
    2. Oil, potion and bomb are important on higher difficulties. And the systems are well designed.
    3. You need to collect ingredients for crafting and alchemy system, and that's a main element in RPG.
    4. Combats are swift. If you except precise and focus style like Monster Hunter, you may think the combat are lousy.
    5. The maps are really really big, it takes time to explore it. And some of secret places are much bigger than you think.
    6. Because the maps are so big, if you die or using fast travel to different area(big). You may need to wait for a really long time.
    7. Free DLCs are nice and I expect the season pass will bring more fun.

    Music:
The soundtracks is pretty good, and I enjoy the CD come along with day 1 purchased.

    Graphics:
    1. Sudden frame-drop quite frequently, especially in swamp areas and confronting guards.
    2. The wind make those plants move unnaturally.
    3. Even patches the HUD is still too small for me. You need to sit very close to TV.

You should really buy it if you enjoy open world and ARPG. Might compete with Fallout4 or MGSV:TPP for GOTY

    1) Combat and Camera are clunky?
Not really. The camera is no worse than that of GTA IV which you quickly get used to and the combat is fluid and exciting.

    2) Movement is tricky
It was, but the developers added a setting that gives you the option to change this.

    3) Quests are repetitive
Seriously? I've fought with kings in foreign lands, swayed wars, toiled with the love of two mages, chased my (surrogate) daughter across the world, got into bar brawls, became a brawling champion, played cards, negotiated with Elves and Dwarves, raced horses, been in a play, searched the world for master crafted armour, fought in castles, got drunk with old friends and tracked/slain countless beasts from powerful vampires to packs of wild dogs... repetitive? Please.

    4) It's bugged and broken
Within a very short space of time the developers rolled out eight patch updates. Okay so not everything was fixed but it just improves all the time and improves quickly at that. Not good enough? Well, on top of that they also released sixteen (yes 16) free DLC updates - ranging from simple cosmetic options to entire new quest lines.

    OVERALL
The Witcher 3 is an epic AAA title that could be a justified winner of Game of the Year (dependant on Fallout 4, Metal Gear and Halo V of course).

If you're undecided on this title then you're seriously missing out on a magnificent game. If you like the RPG or Fantasy genre then it should be a no-brainier. If that's not something you typically like then I challenge you to play this right through and see if you feel the same when you're done.

CD Projekt and The Witcher have been rising stars in the industry since the first game , this third episode is suppose to be the last of this franchise so will Geralt go out in a bang ?

Of course he will (like you probably read it a thousand times before) everything in the game is at least very good, beginning by its technical attributes, the games looks pretty for a RPG this big with nice light effects, large amounts of details and good textures in general, some visual glitches that are almost mandatory for games with that much content are the only bad side of the game, but they will not bother your gameplay experience, the framerate is steady and I didn't encounter any major issue during my 140 hours spend on this game.

Gameplay wise the game offers a lot of thing, good investigations//hunts, exploration, grasping fights that are challenging when they need to be with, like the previous games of the franchise there is a great alchemy system that adds a tactical side to the fighting (probably the best fighting I've seen in any A-RPG), the best mini game of the world aka Gwent that is becoming a stand alone on its own now, etc. They implemented a lot of ideas in the game and all of them work great for the global experience of the game, it just feels natural without being assisted. Kudos to CD Projekt they clearly are talented.

Finally concerning the story, once again it's a masterpiece they succeed to make an epic main quest, a lot of detailed side quests, some are equally epic, some are funny, some are heartbreaking, etc. All together they make for 100 hours of gameplay for the basic game, but I would truly recommend every one to take both extensions as well they have the same qualities with new awesome characters, monsters, locations, and of course plots and once again you'll get plenty of content, around 40 hours (which could be a full game, even two from other studios), for less than 30€/$. But the biggest accomplishment in the writing of this game is that the story works great whether or not you've played the two previous game, whether or not you've read the books (of course you'll catch up tons of reference if you already know the whole story of The Witcher) you'll be hooked to it and be willing to advance in the game and learn more.

In conclusion The Witcher 3 is a must have for every gamer, sure it's not the best looking game ever, but it doesn't matter, it looks good enough and the gameplay works perfectly, it's incredibly full of content and the story is quite possibly the best I've experienced in a video game, at least in recent years, and will leave you some forever lasting memories. Buy this game, buy the expansions, The Witcher is without a doubt one of the greatest franchise in the history of our favorite medium : video games.

The Witcher 3 starts out perfect
You’re introduced to a massive would where massive creatures roam and make their claims on territories.
There’s a sense of fear and challenge in this aspect alone.
As you travel the land of white orchard you hear people call out for help and you stop to speak with them and help them with their problems for some coin.
Even the tiniest thing such as helping an old woman get her frying pan back feels immersive and draws you into the world.
This is where you’re introduced to the idea of oils and potions, finding enemies weaknesses, using your witcher senses to find clue about what youre about to face, and preparing for fights, something that comes in handy for harder difficulties.
I feel like this was the vision.
White Orchard would be what the witcher 3 was all about, and then the game kinda just falls apart and its vision fades.
The witcher tells a beautiful story of urgency, and for that reason alone, the side quests and question marks that clutter the map in velen and other locations make no sense to exist in the context of the games story.
Geralt needs to get to the bottom of what happened, why would he waste his time with the problems of randoms and destroying monster nests.
There are some great side quests that actually tie in to the story, and they are beautiful and fun quests but the ones there just to attempt and make the world feel alive ultimately feel like pointless grinding.
Many times I found myself just skipping through the cut scenes of these quests.
This could have been fixed with incentive more than coin, such as weapons and armors like treasure hunts offer.
The witcher contracts should have been mandatory obstacles in your way of story progression.
These type of things make sense in a Skyrim type game where you write your own story, but in the witcher 3, the story is already established... you aren’t an adventurer.
    You’re a rescuer.
But as a rescuer there is tons to do to level up so you can take on the challenges that await you.
Again contracts and sidequests could have used this idea for benefit, making them feel like training instead of just a job.
You can set out in the world to clear up abandoned sites to repopulate them, you can go out to take down beasts terrorizing territories or just go out and fight random creatures blocking your way to a new undiscovered location.
And the combat is satisfying, so fighting enemies never feels like a drag.
You can block, parry, roll, dodge, heavy attack, fast attack, shoot at them with arrows, use any of the magic signs to shoot fire from your fingers, use a protective spell, magic traps, knock enemies back, control their minds, so much opportunity and combos that can be played with.
And while defeating creatures doesn’t grant much xp, they are still worth the fight as enemies drop items for upgrades, crafting, and alchemy.
The crafting in this game really is some of the best I’ve seen.
You can dismantle objects for items you need to craft base items for main items, it may feel overwhelming at first, but once you really dive in, it’s clever and worthwhile to figure out.
You can purchase items from shops and alchemists or you can explore the beautiful world that The Witcher 3 offers.
When you do level up, you can use the skill points in a vast skill tree and choose the perks you want to use, with up to 12 free slots for these perks. This skill tree can be wrapped around your personal play style or the style you need to take down a specific enemy as there are potions to reset your perks so you can respend them.
I’m a very aggressive player so I for the most part focused on combat skills rather than alchemy or magic.
There are also races you can do, but your horse annoyingly gets caught up on nothing and will randomly just stop which can lead to frustration.
And now my favorite part of the game. Gwent.
Gwent is a mini game within the game and im not ashamed to say that I liked gwent more than witcher 3 itself.
Gwent is a very addictive game with massive marketing potential, so get to making the app CD Projekt red.
    Now for the bad,
for starters leveling up in the witcher 3 is a complete drag, not only does it feel unsatisfying to slay hordes of creatures, the games design actually discourages it.
If you dare level grind like you’re supposed to in an rpg rather than stick to the main story, you’re punished for it by earning 0xp if you’re 6 levels or more above the suggested level for that mission.
Not only does it discourage you from going on your own wild hunt, but it makes you look at side quests and blow them off, why waste your time and effort?
The game also has many stability issues
I lost count of the game crashes at 10, this was only in my first few days of playing the game, with and without game patches.
The Witcher 3 makes the mistake of not constantly saving when you stumble on new locations or accomplish something tiny like a gwent win, causing you to have to re-do 10-30 minutes if the game crashes, gwent cards being random for wins adds salt to the wounds, as if the game crashes after a win, you’ll more than likely not get that card again that you were so excited to win.
I also ran into head floating glitches that really just destroyed the world and its immersion, and there was absolutely no polish or attention to detail put into cut scenes where it should be most.
Sure I expect items to ghost through objects in game, but in cut scene, it’s unacceptable.
Not only are there game crashing bugs in this massive open world, but there are missables which is complete bs.
Making a 200 hour long game and putting content in there such as side quests and collectibles and making them missable if you don’t drop the world to do them now is massively disrespectful to players and their time.
At the very least put asterisk around missable quests so we know to prioritize them, so we don’t get lost in your story, heaven forbid…and have to replay a 200 hour game again to see content we feel robbed of, or better yet don’t make them missable at all, which leads me to achievements and more bs.
The witcher 3 is all about choices, that being said it’s shady as heck to put in achievements that force you to make certain decisions, really lessoning the games experience having to try to spin a web around a mid-game ding.
I know you don’t have to trophy hunt, , but that isn’t an excuse to disrespect a players experience by forcing those that do trophy hunt to play by your rules… that contradicts the entire premise of the witcher 3 as a game.
While I was massively impressed by my first 10 hours of the witcher 3, there are too many flaws in game design for me to overlook.
But that doesn’t take away from the fact that this is a gorgeous and intensely immerse game with thought provoking story telling, over 30 different endings you can get and hundreds of hours of content.
    For what it is.

This game is the best thing happened in the gaming history of a gamer specially rpg gamer. You have choices, consequences and open world. Yes, the might have little bugs here and there, but given the size of the games with the same price as destiny or evolve, you would not get any better deal than Witcher 3.

The only thing I feel is missing is joining factions, groups, fighter's guildetc. However, The Witcher makes up for this and any other shortcomings (occasional frame rate issues, bugs) with its amazing story and smooth and fluid gameplay. Also, the Gwent card game is addicting.

I absolutely love running through Novigrad. My main criticism, as partially described above, is that I do not feel as close to or a part of the NPC's. Don't get me wrong, the character design is astonishing and you grow to like the characters. I guess the fact that The Witcher is more of an independent protagonist trying to find lost loved ones rather than trying to save the world separates Geralt from the world surrounding him.

Something else I love about this game are the boss fights and the enemy design. It goes right up there with Dragon's Dogma.

This is one of the best RPG I've ever played. Definitely rivals Skyrim, FFVII, and Phantasy Star IV.

This game is near perfection. To keep things short the only problems I've found with this game are the underwater controls and some bugs and glitches that mostly don't interfere with the gameplay. Also, the frame rate in the PS4 version is unstable, but that didn't bother me as much as I thought it would. The rest is magnificent. A must-own for RPG lovers.

Every decision you make in the story has repercussions. Which leads to my biggest gripe about the game...you can't play multiple profiles at the same time. Actually my score was a 9.75, and I will tell you why. First of all, the game is great, and there is no argument that can be made against that that would make sense. The only con to this game is the fact that sometimes it glitches ever so slightly. It doesn't effect gameplay, it's just annoying. I love this game. The glitches still aren't near as bad as most game glitches. It is very long and has an endless amount of side quests. The game's difficulty ranges from pretty easy to ridiculously hard, depending on what you want. I believe anyone can beat this game. The music is excellent and the graphics are phenominal for an open world RPG that is probably one of the biggest games ever made. I don't hate on the glitches, what few there are, because for the size that this game is, and the small amount of time that the developers had to work on it, I believe that they did whatever they could with what today's technology was able to do. Hats off to the CD PROJECT RED. The story is so detailed and intricate that in my opinion it wins the award for best story in a game ever. The gameplay is challenging in the right areas and always feels real while still giving you the feeling that your are a gifted bad ass. If there is anything at all wrong with this game, it is minor and almost unnoticeable by most. Buy this game no matter if it's your style or not. At least play one hour of it. Expand

So i wanted next gen Skyrim.
    At first all i could do was focus on things that were not like Skyrim and i actually considered taking it for a refund. I looked at it differences and saw them as flaws. That being said the game does have issues;

Roach doesn't follow the paths he's supposed to and rides in the wrong direction.
I have been getting stuck on things walking and riding.
During the tutorial i fell from the castle walls because the movement mechanics are not easy and jerky.
The camera angle when using Witcher senses is squashed and awkward and you use it a lot.
Looting and examining abjects isn't always easy because of the camera angles.
Geralt's voice is annoying and at first you notice all the time.
The text and pictures in the inventry menu is very small and could be easier to use
    Climbing could be better.
    Swimming mechanics are difficult.
    It isn't Skyrim.

Other people have also mentioned other issues like popping and stuff which i've seen and when you are already disappointed with something you start to pick holes everywhere..

Now the reason i marked this as a 10/10..

Despite all those issues and the disappointment i felt i decided to give it more time, maybe it would get better and the story would draw me in.
I have now been playing the game for 3 days and i am so glad i stuck with it because it's really grown on me. All the bad points about the game that i focused on mostly don't bother me now or i don't even notice them anymore because the game is actually so good.

The story is great and the soundtrack is excellent. The open world is massive and full of detail. I was only playing in one area for ages and when i finally progressed with the story more i got to see some of the larger cities/towns and they look amazing! then you start to see just how big the game is and how much detail there is. You can go into nearly every building and look around and they are all full of details it's not empty rooms. You get used to the way Roach rides around and the same with Geralt's movements, swimming is still difficult but i have improved and it's not really a big issue for me. The details to this game are what make it so good. The colours are so rich and you do find yourself taking in moments when there's a sunset or sunrise and everything is a golden orange colour. another great thing is that you don't have to wait everytime you enter a building or room, not like Skyrim.

There are some things that i would have liked to be different in the game like be able to switch to first person sometimes i want to see things closer up especially when there's so much detail, combat would also be better in FP. Being able to climb like in Assissn's Creed would have giving it another dimension too.

This really is a great game and it gets addictive, i think like me a lot of people will be put off by the first hour or so of the game where you getting used to how it works but after that it's all fun, hrs and hrs of fun!

I hope you enjoy it as much as i do.

The massive and immersive world of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will pull you in and keep you hooked for days on end, say goodbye to real life. In this review for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, I will give my opinions on gameplay, story, sound, graphics, and last impressions.

    Gameplay: 9/10
    - The gameplay in Witcher 3 takes some getting used to, no doubt. The combat is challenging at first and making use of oils, potions and signs can have a steep learning curve to it. That being said, once you have spent some time with the system you really begin to appreciate the diversity and rewards to combat. Every enemy has different strengths and weaknesses, and it is entirely up to you whether you will learn and take advantage of these, or go in swinging and hope for the best. You get what you put in with this combat system, if you're willing to learn and make use of everything, there's plenty of fun diversity here.

    Story: 10/10
    - This game truly shines in the story. Whether you're doing a main quest or side quest, everything was excellently written and crafted. You get the feeling that everything you do in the world has purpose and often it really does affect the game down the road. The shear amount of things to do is staggering, and none of it feels like simple filler. My first playthrough took me 58 hours, and this could have easily been extended if I spent more time on side quests and the surprisingly engaging Gwent, needless to say after the endgame, I still have a gigantic amount of quests and contracts to complete. The game does an excellent job of making you care about characters and what happens to them, which is something rarely seen in many games of this day.

    Sound: 10/10
    - The soundtrack to The Witcher 3 is excellent. I did turn the music volume down a few notches because I felt at times it interrupted with the story being told, but after this I found it much better to my personal preference. The voice acting throughout this entire adventure is done excellently by the enormous cast. You meet an incredible amount of characters, and most of the time they have something interesting to say.

    Graphics: 9.5/10
    - Everyone who has any interest in this game has most likely heard of the graphics downgrade from what was shown at E3, but the game still looks incredible, especially when you realize the scale of the game. I found myself very often stopping and just admiring the view in many different areas. The game looks fantastic no matter what you play on. The framerate has some hiccups on the PS4, notably in the swamp areas and a later cave area, but as a whole the game runs very well. Throughout my 58 hours I had one crash while in game and one freeze at a loading screen.

    Last Impressions:
    - If you've read this much of my review, you can probably guess that I loved this game. I've played a countless amount of games over the past 10 years and consider myself a pretty serious gamer. That being said, out of the hundreds of games I've had the pleasure of playing, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt easily makes it's way into my personal top 5 list. This game is truly a masterpiece that should be enjoyed by any RPG game fans. It is the largest game I've ever played, and I've never been kept so engaged through an entirety of a game like I had been with this. I'll be starting my second playthrough immediately at the highest difficulty and can see myself working towards 100% completion. I recommend this game to any RPG fans and every gamer out there should give it a try.

    Final Score: 10/10

Some of these missions are also creepy in awesome and new ways that left me thinking about the characters. While I could have given this game a perfect score, I didn’t as it has it main share of issues. The worst of which is that I lost over 10hrs of gameplay due to a buggy save system that at times refused do automatic and manual saves; the game also has a really wonky camera at times, and you find yourself with Geralt facing the enemies while the camera is looking somewhere else; the character movement is odd also… Geralt moves at a pace that is difficult to control… As if he’s always walking with a momentum equal to running downhill. Roach, Geralt’s horse, is useless sometimes as you have to be perfectly aligned to mount it (I wish the mount behaved similar to the ones in Dragon Age). Oh… and for some odd reason, there is always a light or candle in the middle of NPCs, chests, Roach, loot bags, etc., meaning that if you attempt to interact with any of the later, Geralt ends up lighting candles.
Anyway, aside from the technical issues, this is a great gaming experience and probably the best RPG I’ve ever played (sorry, Mass Effect).

I was initially concerned with the reviews stating *clunky* controls and combat, but can say that these concerns are overstated and, although the game does have some flaws when it comes to controls, they perform more than adequately in the context of this type of game. Seriously, I've just come from Bloodborne, which has incredibly responsive controls, and The Witcher 3's controls don't bother me.
The crafting and levelling system seems a bit complicated initially. Spending a little time getting to know the menus and how they work should help clear that up, though they could certainly be more user friendly.
Visually it's stunning. I'm playing on the ps4 and haven't noticed any significant frame rate drop, and have frequently stopped in awe at the beautiful surroundings.
This is a fantastic game, and those who are maybe a little sceptical, as I was, I'd advise to dive in. You really don't need to worry. You'll have a blast.

I've logged over 100+ hours into the Witcher 3 and I've still got a **** tonne of quests, exploration and gawking to do. Even if you haven't played previous Witcher games, i still highly recommend this, as this game dwarfs all other AAA titles within the past 5 years. In fact, this isn't a game, it's an experience, as you play you feel like you are an actual Witcher, wondering town to town, picking up contracts, getting caught up in feuds or local scrummages , and then happening across a quest that will take you on a rollercoaster ride of horror and wonderment. It's this kind of organic storytelling that is missing from other modern AAA RPGs, as it combines the flowing and random nature of say a Rockstar game, with the insane scope of an RPG as big as Skyrim. So fellow Gamers, I urge you to play and experience this game, as it's a new Benchmark within the Open World and the RPG genres Expand

The beautifully crafted world of Witcher 3, from an aesthetic perspective, puts to shame all console games prior. Though it is beautiful, it doesn’t just hope to get by on its good looks.
The tale of “Geralt of Rivia” gradually reveals a well complex individual with a group of nearly equally intriguing of allies, friends and nemesis who are worthy of their own tales. The quest designs are thoughtful, and express real and believable human needs without seeming as contrived with the express purpose of giving the player something to do. The options before Geralt, and for the most part the outcomes, make sense.
I love the game, but here’s my wishlist….

The world is large, but more variation in landscape could augment that sense of being in a vast world. The leveling system and tech tree are adequate, but could use some tweaks. More depth of character customization/specialization would augment the game. I would also prefer to see a combat system more akin to LOTR Shadow, Batman, etc. that is conducive to combos.

Clearly the above mentioned suggestions didn't ruin the game for me, as I still rate it at 9.5.

Truly a PS 4 essential for lovers of open world RPGs.

Yes there was the graphics downgrade controversy but after reading the reviews i thought myself ready to immerse myself in a proper RPG again. Something i didn't do since Skyrim.

But boy oh boy was i happy i tried this game. The first few hours are quite hardcore as I wasn't all that familiar with the systems of potions and stuff but after the first five hours i really started to enjoy my time.

The deep story and the epic combat really pulled me in and only just spat me out after completing the game. 80 hours went into my playthrough and i know i missed a huge amount of side plots.

I could continue on but all has been said by others. Game of the year and possibly one of the best games i have played the last few years.

Usually a game with side quests have side quests that are boring and/or repetitive. I used to get frustrated at this game because of the 30 second loading screens you get every time you die. Though it's really just my fault for not studying the combat system more. The combat system is fluid and well crafted. This game is challenging, but it's not TOO challenging. The COMBAT is very smooth but also very challenging, the swordplay mixed with the handful of Signs(which reminded me of Bioshock's plasmids/vigors) truly caters to all styles of play. The SKILL TREE wasn't too complex and felt truly rewarding. What truly made the game special though, was the living, breathing OPEN WORLD. There are endless monster contracts, side quests, treasure hunts, location discoveries, and random events. It's refreshing to feel as if the worlds entire fate doesn't depend on you, but instead feels like that world was there long before Geralt, and will be long after.
Its hard to find anything wrong with this game, but if I had to nitpick, I'd say I had a few issues with glitches here and there(PS4). Almost all of those issues came with NPCs either freezing or pop ins. Also riding your horse was pretty clunky and at times hard to control. These are both super EASY to ignore considering how epic this game is.
Aside from the actual game, the studio CD Projekt Red, has reminded the rest of the gaming industry that making a great game should be the one and only goal of a studio. Not thinking of ways to take advantage make extra money off of their fans. Not only was all the DLC all free, but the extras they packed in every edition game case made me feel like they appreciate the fans.

Graphics, open world, challenging, story, characters, beauty, all amazing. My few gripes was fighting mechanics felt clunky but that also made it feel kike a chess match. Roach would take many whistles to appear at times, game lagged at times but the overall experience was great. This game was worth the pricetag. I spent hours selling those damn shells and they basically stole my time. Otherwise great game. You realky dont need much money but its the principle . Expand

Perfection come true! I've never played something with such detail, the graphics are spectacular, I think it's the only game that can proudly say that is next-gen. The soundtrack is also impressive, as the voiceover, I have never felt so immersed in a game.

It's great what they have worked out this game from CD Projekt RED, there's no reason why it shouldn't the game of the year... Oh

It's great what they have worked out this game from CD Projekt RED, there's no reason why it shouldn't the game of the year... Oh wait! It already is!

What I liked most is the endless possibilities you have when you interact with NPCs, the way it affects the evolution of history and the world around you, so that none is the right or wrong choice, all are viable and have their own reason for being in the course of things.

The main line of the game follows the previous titles, but you can play it without having played The Witcher I or II, which is my case.

It is a vast world full of bloody history and creatures to hunt, you never run out of tasks and secondary missions to do that's for sure, in any case you will have problems to finish everything, because its a game that delivers hundreds of gameplay hours if you decide to complete it. You even have a card board minigame that you will must collect if you want to go platinum; there are people who find it boring, but I enjoyed it pretty much.

Like any open world game, you'll find glitches here and there, but that's normal considering how immensely big it is, you do not get the picture of the scale of the map until you start playing! Roach controls are a bit squishy, but still you just get used to it.

I'm looking forward to the second DLC (I've already completed Hearts of Stone), Blood and Wine, to dive once again into this fascinating world that CD Projekt RED has given us, I'm glad to see there are still developers who know how to make videogames!

No doubt this is one of the games that I'll remember for many years when it comes to compare future releases of the genre, and it will be a difficult task to stand up next to The Witcher 3.

A perfect game for a diehard books fan like myself. CDPR flawlessly captured the feel of the saga. Graphics are great, characters are amazing, quests are best I've ever played in pretty much any RPG, the map is huge and full of secrets and things to do. After 2 full runs and in the middle of NG+, an easy 10/10 for me.

I absolutely loved the game!.. The choice system is sure punishing as hell!. I got the worst ending that completely spoiled my whole experience. But if I leave that aside I thoroughly enjoyed rest of the game. I think in a way it was good that I got the bad ending because TW3 was starting to ruin my life. I quit my job for it. I was staying up all night playing and all day sleeping. SoI absolutely loved the game!.. The choice system is sure punishing as hell!. So that ending definitely drew me away. There are some other small complaints like some missions don't live up to their difficulty level and some exceed it by some margin. I did't use crafting much cos the game never really made it feel necessary. Also the inventory system is complete **** I played it on my ps4, so like everyone else i had some frame rate issues and few bugs, very few though nothing too bad. Overall one of the best games I've ever played and definitely the best rpg i played. Expand

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, is HANDS DOWN THE BEST GAME I HAVE EVER PLAYED!. I had never even heard of Witcher 1&2 before this game, I thought it would be some crap series in which the developers just milk and milk. WELL! No this game has the BEST voice acting, MUSIC SOUNDTRACK, characters are too intriguing you can't help but too find out more about them. Now wait a second... No this game has the BEST voice acting, MUSIC SOUNDTRACK, characters are too intriguing you can't help but too find out more about them. Now wait a second... Skyrim is going to be the game I'm comparing it too... Yes it's old now however that game has in my eyes beaten all recent games in the genre... Witcher 3 has Raised the bar and taken the crown from Bethesda's Skyrim. The locations, Landscape designs, WEATHER EFFECTS ARE PERFECTLY ON POINT that the trees just almost rip out of the ground at such windy rainy stormy weather, Movigraad is one of the most beautiful cities created in any video game Architectually wise, and interactive wise ( hair cuts, Baths, Bars, Halls, Markets, Love house, city square which includes a band playing very nice music in a very social area where merchants/Black smiths are selling their goods. The combat is crazy insane, having to use magic, potions, swords, dodge and roll in such quick times. You Role Play as A legend Geralt Of Rivia who is such an honour to play as, now there are novels from before GAME OF THRONES was even created which SHUT DOWN THE HATERS OF THIS GAME FOR SAYING ITS A COMPLETE COPY! (I love game of thrones) The Lore this Witcher has throughout characters, paintings, locations especially real life myths and legends which enables you too wanting to research. The in game bestiary was my best friend containing a long in depth info about each different any and what effects mostly. Crafting is something too addictive just like in skyrim I'd call it a tie in crafting wise aswell as the master crafting upgrading. The Witcher 3 is hands down my game of the year, hopefully The game of the year, considering I 100% complete nearly all my games on Consoles and this game just stands out the most. FALLOUT 4, UNTIL DAWN, BLOODBORNE, METAL GEAR SOLID which is a fantastic all rounding game, Are my picks for runner ups of game of the year, homstely Witcher 3 is just the best. The feels I had with skyrim 5 years ago is how I feel with Witcher 3 and I'm sure in another 5+ years there will be better. For now, Wicther 3 game of the year 2015 Expand

The conclusion of Geralt’s game saga couldn’t be better. The large open world, great storytelling and dozens of hours of pure fun – this game is an absolute must for every RPG fan. [Issue#253]

This truly outstanding game raises the bar to new heights that will be extremely hard to reach for BioWare, Bethesda and any other developer. [07/2015, p.38]

The Witcher 3's subject matter, its almost defiant doubling down on its treatment of women as titillating props for Geralt and the player, even as it tries to flesh out more female leads, is its most disappointing aspect. This constant presence weighs down what would otherwise be an excellent bit of closure for Geralt's video game saga — which isn't helped by the control issues that often detract from sequences meant to break up open-world monotony.
