    Absolutely briliant game, I have never played anything like this before. I loved everything especially the characters. The story is brilliant in my opinion.

    Best way to define it is a roller coaster of emotions, takes you to a journey that makes you wonder if you're doing the right thing. There's enough material to go further and make more content.

    Después de 31 horas de juego puedo decir que es un juego excelente en el apartado técnico, tiene gráficos excelentes, un gameplay muy bueno y unos puzzles sencillos pero a la vez mas elaborados. Bien, hablando de la historia, creo que es buena pero no excelente, tiene momentos tristes, de enojo, escenas impactantes pero creo que le faltó ser un poco mas dinámico, pasando a la historia deDespués de 31 horas de juego puedo decir que es un juego excelente en el apartado técnico, tiene gráficos excelentes, un gameplay muy bueno y unos puzzles sencillos pero a la vez mas elaborados. Bien, hablando de la historia, creo que es buena pero no excelente, tiene momentos tristes, de enojo, escenas impactantes pero creo que le faltó ser un poco mas dinámico, pasando a la historia de abby, es buena pero pasando algunas horas se siente bastante pesada y se pierde un poco la esencia del juego, hubo algunas partes que aunque no fueron aburridas si las sentí un poco de relleno y en otras parecía que estaba jugando resident evil, otro punto negativo es que pierdes mucho el tiempo looteando, eso si quieres mejorar tus armas y conseguir los coleccionables, pero si esto no te importa puedes pasar de largo. El final creo que fue justo para los dos personajes pero fue un poco forzado el capitulo anterior antes de llegar al final. Fuera de eso, creo que es un gran juego, pero no excelente en cuanto a la historia, pudieron recortar unas horas y no pasaba nada. En fin, yo le daría un 85/100.… Expand

In a lot of the criticism I read of Part II, I see a lot of people saying that the ending should’ve involved Ellie killing Abby, or a choice for the player whether to do so. In my opinion, either of these endings would’ve fundamentally gone against what I believe the writers’ intentions were in telling the story the way it was told, and undermined the entirety of the rest of the game.

    This game is about forgiveness. Everything that happens in the game culminates in the moment Ellie remembers Joel on the porch as she’s holding Abby underwater, in the same way that everything in the first game culminates in Ellie final ‘okay’. For me, when Ellie chooses not to go through with the vengeance, it was like a pressure relief valve was finally opened, releasing all the tension the game had built up between Ellie and Joel, Ellie and Abby, and Ellie and herself. In that small moment, Ellie finally opened herself up to at least the possibility of forgiving Joel for what he did to her (which we explore through the flashbacks), of forgiving Abby for what she did to Joel (which the game attempts to make the player themselves do through the second half of the game), and of forgiving herself for how she treated Joel after he told her the truth, the guilt associated with that, and the destructive and self destructive path she went down to hunt down Abby for taking Joel away from her, along with the ‘future days’ of reconciliation she envisioned between Joel and herself (which we see, and feel, in the first half of the game).

    All of the ways the game built up these layers of hate, guilt and, ultimately forgiveness within Ellie and the player would’ve been for nothing if Ellie simply kills Abby. Giving the player a choice about this would diminish the impact of the ending as much a choice between saving Ellie and humanity in the first game would’ve diminished the overpowering nature of Joel’s paternal love built up throughout that game.

    Ellie killing Abby would’ve been a truly grim, cynical, and nihilistic ending where Ellie really does end up with nothing left and completely alone, and would’ve turned it into the ‘revenge bad’ story a lot of this game’s critics claim that it currently is.

    My interpretation is that Ellie’s discovery of her own capacity for forgiveness is what drives her to keep going at the very end of the game. She’s holding on to the hope that Dina can also find the same intuition within herself to forgive Ellie for leaving their life on the farm.    … Expand

    After putting 25 hours into this game, I can safely say Naughty Dog have done it again. The level of story telling on display here, on top of gorgeous graphics, smooth animation, beautiful yet dark soundtrack, top-notch gore effects and amazing AI all meld into one of the best must-play-for-yourself games of 2020. It's easy to jump on the hate bandwagon nowadays and blindly hate this gameAfter putting 25 hours into this game, I can safely say Naughty Dog have done it again. The level of story telling on display here, on top of gorgeous graphics, smooth animation, beautiful yet dark soundtrack, top-notch gore effects and amazing AI all meld into one of the best must-play-for-yourself games of 2020. It's easy to jump on the hate bandwagon nowadays and blindly hate this game based off of leaks and internet trolls, but if you take gaming seriously as a hobby, don't do yourself that disservice and experience this master-class level of a game for yourself! Some minor plot points are not as sharp as they could be but they are still magnificent. PLAY THIS GAME ATLEAST ONCE.… Expand

    Albeit not a perfect game, it's damn well fantastic. I found issues with the story, but nothing that majorly ruins the game. Play it for yourself and form your own opinion.

    Was an experience unlike anything I ever played and I mean it in a good way. The gameplay, technical aspects, art, and mechanics are great. The story is well written but does make you think and was invokes emotions and makes you think which turned off many. But I loved it.

    What a masterpiece. Incredible story, graphics and gameplay. Knowing what happens to the characters really changes the way you think about the first game as well, even years after it’s release. I loved it and wouldn’t change a thing about it.

    This story is definitely not what anyone thought they wanted from The Last of Us 2, but it's daring, raw, innovative, and ultimately fantastic. I feel like it truly deserves at least 3 playthroughs before one can really appreciate it's greatness.

    This is by far one of the best narrative driven games of this generation. This game is better than the original in pretty much every way. I'm giving it a 10 out of 10 but it doesn't mean it's without its flaws. However, the emotional impact it will have on you will make you ignore its imperfections. Amazing game.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Personally, I really enjoyed the game. But I can also see why there is a lot of controversy about it. I avoided any leaks and spoilers before playing the game by the way. Yes, they killed Joel early in the game (I was kinda expecting Dina to be killed off before starting the game). And yes, it was devastating to see him like that in his final moments. But that was the point. You are supposed to hate Abby for what she did to our (not so innocent) Joel. Although, this only worked partly for me, because when Abby travels to Jackson and states that she's looking for a man I thought: that's probably Joel --> probably because of the events at the hospital --> probably someone of her family got killed there --> maybe her dad or brother was one of the medical staff in Ellie's surgery. So, back then I already thought that she probably has viable reasons to do what she did. That's why I had no problem to feel empathy for her in her part of the game. I think that the game stands and falls with the player's ability to try to change their perspective from Ellie's to Abby's. I have to admit that at first I also didn't like her that much. Well, you're not supposed to like her from the get go anyway. She's not my type of character visually (I can't stand muscles, especially on women) and I know it's superficial but this also stands in my way of liking her. But getting to know her during her chapters I learned to like the character she is inside. She's relatable in my opinion and by the end I didn't want Ellie and Abby to continue fighting each other. In my opinion it says something about a game if it's able to change your opinion like that.

    Positive points
    + Cool characters, both old (Ellie, Joel, Tommy, ...) and new ones (Dina, Jesse, Abby, Lev, ...)
    + Amazing acting (both motion capturing and voice acting)
    + Good storyline (not as good as the predecessor but still makes you feel something a lot of times)
    + Outstanding visuals (both environment and characters (including gestures, etc.))
    + A lot of possibilities to interact with the environment (smash windows, lie down (while being able to use your whole arsenal), ...)
    + Good level design (you always have multiple ways to continue the fight)
    + Interaction between enemies (yelled strategies etc.) are believable and make sense
    + Amazing attention to detail (you can leave bloody footprints after walking through a blood puddle for example)
    + Good soundtrack that fits each situation well

    Negative points

    I didn't get my hopes high, so i wasn't that much hyped for this. But this game did delivered to me. That's adventure was awesome. I was kinda dissapointed from the first part, cuz all the shootings were simillar in the different environment. The best game play and the graphics in the generation of ps4.

    An incredible game that adds even more depth to the story and characters of the first game. The game is bleak and brutal with bouts of beauty. The gameplay is astonishing and the graphics a level beyond any other game on the PS4; all in all get another masterpiece from Naughty Dog.

    Sequel perfetto de primo. Gioco spettacolare e fluido. Il finale fa intendere la liberazione di Ellie dal passato che tanto la tormentava. Mi dispiace che queste 25 ore siano passate così in fretta e spero tanto in una parte 3 .

I fully understand what the developers might have intended, and they knew that most people would not understand the message.     It's not a 10 for me because I really ended it wanting more, maybe some single player modes with scenarios like: 'Go full stealth', or '1Hit Kill', but even    It's a game about vengeance, family, redemption and trying to understand what is really important in life. Very solid gameplay, an insanely thought provoking story and characters that will stick with you long after the game is over.

Obra maestra, los gráficos son de otro mundo, la jugabilidad es excelente, el ambiente, la banda sonora, etc, hacen que sea una experiencia súper memorable. Los personajes son super reales, no hay ningún héroe, todos son personas y pueden morir en cualquier momento, dado un punto de la historia ya nadie es buena persona, pero podes empatizar con todos. Tiene una historia que te atrapa y si sos sensible este juego no es para vos; es "controversial", personajes lgbt, los cuales son criticados por ninguna razón, como si una persona no pudiese tener otra sexualidad que no fuese heterosexual, como si un director no pudiese desarrollar un personaje hasta ese punto. Admito que tiene fallos en la historia (y no hablo de la muerte de joel porque en mi opinión era necesario y si le pones un 0 a este juego porque no querías que joel muera honestamente no deberías ser capaz de votar en tu país xd). Ya estoy hablando solo de lo malo, el final pudo haber sido mejor aunque me satisface, y por eso le doy un 9 y no un 10, el juego no es un fan service para que los fanáticos de este juego se pongan contentos, por eso es el lo que es, por eso tiene estas reseñas asquerosas, la gente compró el juego para un fan service con joel como el héroe pero se encontraron con que no es inmortal y que es un personaje súper real.     This is a mind blowing game for the full 28 hours that I invested. Having played the Last of Us part I 4 years ago I was really looking forward to this game and Naughty Dog delivered massively.

    Again the storyline was sublime, it was a rollercoaster ride from love to revenge and from self hatred towards pity for your opponents. How this game makes you as a player part of the story is    This is a mind blowing game for the full 28 hours that I invested.     A great sequel, but not for everyone, given the brave and “philosophical” plot development. Still, the game is impressive and entertaining during all the playthroug, both in gameplay and narration; the right path that story-driven videogames should follow.

    I just replayed the first game prior to starting this, and I'd give that an 8.5 on gameplay for comparison. For reference, I played Part 1 fresh (not NG+) on Survivor, and started Part 2 on Survivor but switched down to Hard about 25% of the way through. Very few complaints. In particular, stealth was perfection. Compared to the painstaking sneaking required in part 1 Survivor, there were so many more options with crafting arrows and pistol silencers. I loved the addition of dogs to force you to move, and I loved the additions of grass and prone movement to expand your options. The level of tension I got in some sections on Survivor was just excellent

    ***Story: 7.5/10
    I thought Ellie's part of the story was damn near flawless. Joel getting killed by vengeful Fireflies sucked but was very believable. No way he could've gotten away with that massacre without anyone hunting him down. Perfect motivation for Ellie's quest for vengeance and letting them show the cost it has to her as a person. Right down to Ellie leaving Dina to hunt down Abby in Santa Barbara. I wanted so much for Ellie to stay and have a happy ending, but ND made me buy it.

    I appreciate what they were trying to do with Abby. Her motivations for killing Joel were certainly believable, and I get that they wanted to show her as a fellow human with feelings and stuff to make us question Ellie's blind rage. But her story was too long, I kept waiting for the flashback to be over until realizing that I was going to have to play through the past 3 days her. Then having us control her as she BEAT ELLIE AND DINA TO NEAR DEATH? That was not cool at all and I really could have done without it.

    They could have humanized Abby with so much less time, and it felt like it was driven by game design choices of not wanting to develop her combat less than Ellie's. If we'd played as Ellie finding her on that beach barely clinging on to life, would it have been any less impactful when Ellie threatened Lev and still tried to fight Abby? I don't think so at all. What Ellie did there was wrong, and we didn't need to know really anything about Abby as a person to realize it. She could be an irredeemably evil villain from our perspective, and we'd know it was bad for Ellie to go through with it.

    Following from that, it makes the key part of the "Abby's not a completely bad person" plot sort of fall flat. Yara and Lev felt very forced in. I am extremely sympathetic to the social message behind that plot, but it felt like ND were trying to do too much narratively here. It was a very cliche take on a character questioning their own identity, parents/community rejecting them for it, and didn't really add anything to that conversation that hasn't been done much better in other fiction.

    The missing piece, in my opinion, is that we never really see Abby internally reckon with what she's done and whether it was wrong for her to kill Joel. She gets consequences, sure. Ellie and Tommy kill basically all of her friends who were involved in killing Joel. But she never has to reckon with WHY she faced those consequences. She never has to understand Joel's motivations for saving Ellie, or put herself in his shoes and ask whether she'd have done the same thing. She has quite the parallel when she has to kill her former comrades to save Lev, but we never see her think about it. If ND is going to give her so much time, give her a redemption and forgiveness arc. Have her beg Ellie for forgiveness, and make Ellie reckon with the choice of whether to grant it. THIS would've humanized her and given us much more time to play as Ellie and explore her psyche. We never really got to see Ellie reckon with the fact that her quest for vengeance cost her friend his life and left Tommy with a severe injury or disability. Less Abby, more of that, and the story would've been perfect.    … Expand

    Il gioco è graficamente stupendo, la trama è parecchio coraggiosa e tratta temi difficilmente trattati da altri giochi nello stesso modo e questo giocare molto con i sentimenti del giocatore l'ho trovato molto azzeccato per un gioco di questo calibro anche se in alcuni momenti sembra forzata. A livello di Gameplay il gioco è migliorato parecchio, aggiungendo nuove meccaniche come loIl gioco è graficamente stupendo, la trama è parecchio coraggiosa e tratta temi difficilmente trattati da altri giochi nello stesso modo e questo giocare molto con i sentimenti del giocatore l'ho trovato molto azzeccato per un gioco di questo calibro anche se in alcuni momenti sembra forzata. A livello di Gameplay il gioco è migliorato parecchio, aggiungendo nuove meccaniche come lo strisciare, saltare liberamente e infilarsi nei posti stretti in modo da rendere gli enigmi ambientali molto più complessi e non banali, pure lo shooting è migliorato grazie a nuove armi, un nuovo sistema di "crafting" e un azione molto frenetica in quasi ogni combattimento. Pure la musica è parecchio ispirata anche se alcune canzoni non mi sono piaciute e trovate anonime. L'unico vero lato negativo che posso riscontrare nel gioco è la durata, il gioco dura 30 ore ma di gameplay, la trama dura massimo la metà… Expand

Not everyone is a white male. That's about it. Zero? Come on. The music, voice -over, graphics, level design are really good.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I know why people are upset with this game. The beginning of the game seemed alright until Joel’s death. That’s when I wanted to stop playing. It was a bad way for him to die and his character was written wrong there’s no disagreeing on that. But after that Ellie’s story gets really good and she has become one of my favourite game characters. She was written well. Abby’s story went downhill a little as it wasn’t bad but just wasn’t as Interesting as Ellie’s and I think one of the reasons for this is because we hate Abby. The game tries to make you like and tries to show she is changing as a person but i still **** hated her. Another bad part I thought was when you have to fight Ellie as Abby just so Abby can win. To be honest I think tlou2 is a really good game and all comes down to Joel’s song where he says “if I ever were to lose you, I’d lose myself”. That’s exactly what happened to Ellie in my opinion which is why she probably let Abby go as she knew Joel was right with what he said and didn’t think she’d be any better than Abby getting revenge but she realised it was too late when she got back home as Dina left. Ellie also said her fear was ending up alone which is exactly what happened. The games just a dark story about how revenge isn’t always right even if you hate Abby. It took risks and I respect. Good game but not as good as the first game.… Expand

    I think that I have never thought so much about a story in videogame. The Last of Us Part II is wonderful piece of art. Until the final few hours of the game I wanted to rate it somewhere between 2 and 5 out of 10. But final hours have changed my mind. GG Naughty Dog

    If you want a good story line, then this is for you. So gripping and entertaining. A path of vengeance with a seeming endless loop, the empathy you feel for all characters has you confused on which side to take. Great graphics, some added story to Ellie and a new character whom you are meant to hate but can’t. I was left wanting more, just like the first installment.     This game has a emotional and thrilling story. To understand the decisions of the characters you have to play to the end of the story. The story is good narrated and the cutscenes are sensible and have a high niveau. The game has a lot of settings for barrier-free. Graphic and sound is fantastic. The gameplay is a matter of taste, but it is a good improvement in contrast the first part.

    While the story is bleak, thematically it is flawless. For the game itself, it is one of the most beautiful looking games ever to be made, the action is brutal and satsfying, the stealth is challenging and the survival aspects will make you loot every drawer you see.

    Новый подход к повествованию, который показывает взгляд на ситуацию через призму восприятия разных персонажей заставляет подумать над сюжетом и переживать обоим героиням. Несмотря на то, что конфликт между Элли и Эбби завязывается через смерть Джоэла, которого убивает Эбби на глазах у Элли, в процессе развития сюжета игрок начнет сопереживать Эбби и поймет ее мотивацию. В процессе сюжета Элли убивает много друзей Эбби, а Эбби - друзей Элли. Однако, когда у Эбби будет возможность убить Элли во второй раз - она отпустит ее. Элли же, не примирившись со смертью Джоэла и Джесси будет продолжать охотится на Эбби, однако в финальной драке отпустит Эбби.
    В этот момент мнение игроков разделяется, (я играл в компании друзей). Часть из нас решила, что сюжет незаконченный или закончен не правильно. Я же считаю, что все точки над "i" расставлены. Обе героини испытали боль и из-за одержимости местью потеряли много друзей и любимых на пути. Финальный аккорд простого расставания без взаимного убийства, явно говорит о том, что они обе осознали свои ошибки, и если и не простили друг друга, то осознали и поняли. И это разрешает их конфликт - они обе натворили много ужасного, но поняли, что насилие поражает только насилие.
    Считаю такую историю очень грустной, но полноценной и завершенной. Такой сюжет не оставляет вопросов, но еще долго будет перевариваться в мозгу. Игрок будет прокручивать сюжет за обеих героинь снова и снова пытаясь собрать больше информации о каждой из героинь и найти оправдания их действиям. И когда больше не останется "закоулков", в которых скрыты секреты, игрок придет к мысли, что это должно было закончится именно так.

    Шикарный, глубокий, очень напряженный, многогранный и необычный сюжет.

But now 10 minutes after I finished it I am overwhelmed! Not only did they find an excellent way of portraying modern day equality but they did it in a way that wasn’t in your face. It was just there and wether you like it or not you have to deal with it. I liked it a lot. The gameplay, graphics and story are amazing and this truly is the best ps4 game!… Expand

    Ignore all the negative reviews. The game and storyline is epic! Twist and turns and completely engaging. Play the first game so you understand the characters. Foks that are upset by the story probably are thinking surface-level and not paying attention to all of the details and underlying character dilemmas throughout the game. LOVE LAST OF US! Cannot wait for the TV Series!

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
