    I was so excited for this game. Waited 7 years for this game and was just utterly disappointed with how bad the game was. Don't even get the main characters anymore. Instead, we get forced to play as a character we have never heard of with no character development that makes sense.

I just finished the game and I can say its worth every penny. People are complaining about “hidden agendas” and “poor story telling” when a majority just get pissed off about the leaks they saw without context or within Playing the first 2 hours of the game. Everyone had their dream setting and outcome for this game and for most people this game is different. It personifies the villains. It demonizes heroes. But it does it logically and it is genuinely a great story. Combat is improved. Soundtrack is amazing. Graphics are excellent. My advice is to to buy this game but take time to read the notes in the streets. Look at characters expressions throughout the story. Think about yourself in each characters shoes and it really is a realistic adaptation of this apocalyptic world. I loved every minute of it and I’m happy for it to be a part of my collection.… Expand

They did exactly what I hoped they would, by extending the world to other story arcs. Without having Abby's story told in this way and without Joel dying this would have been a complete waste. They were able to continue the story from where it ended last.. Ellie knew Joel was lying in the end and we get to see the fallout from his decision, emotionally from both perspectives.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. personally i dont fully understand the this game is getting from players. the introduction almost matches the first game in intensity, and the death of Joel being unceremonious and quick made the whole situation feel more real. He had no last words to Ellie and hers were yelling at him to get up. And Abby as a character who learns compassion for children that otherwise she would have shot, really turns her into the protagonist of the story. Sure we all love Ellie but we have to admit she is the villain of this story. Abby sought after revenge for a reasonable reason, and didn't kill the others. Ellie rampaged and killed all of Abby's friends as revenge. And then doesn't kill abby to end the cycle of violence caused by Joel. Ellie lost everything, her "father" her girlfriend, and adopted child. The fact that people think because there were gay characters and a transgender child means they pushed their agenda amazes me. So what that they were in the game. Just because its the apocalypse doesnt mean they dont exist anymore. Ellie and Dina are still amazing characters and Lev was very likable. I thoroughly loved this game in the whole 27 hours i spent with it. The graphics were perfect. Writing was realistic and personable, the story was strong between both playable characters. The encounters were excellent. Gameplay additions although few were very well made. I absolutely give this game a 10/10 and don't understand any people that don't agree. And if you give it a bad review because you just don't like Homosexuals or trans people, then you don't deserve to write a review… Expand

But the story just drags on in several points for no apparent reason other than to make you wallow in depression or horror at the decisions in the game. The gameplay isn’t revolutionary, but it is polished. Es muy simple lo unico que deberian haber hecho es dividir las historias, muestrenme a abby como lo que es desde la posicion de ellie pero no se salgan de esa historia en ningun momento mover esa muerte tan asquerosamente mal hecha en el inicio y ponerla directamente en el final y despues desbloqueamos a abby. es tu eleccion el elegirla como personaje y si quieres seguir como ellie seguiras como ellie en su historia hasta la parte final en la cual se encuentra con abby denuevo, en ese punto pasa todo el rollo de la venganza y ves al niño, no lo conoces pero sabes que seguramente lo recluto en su ruta, en la pelea final tener la eleccion de matar a abby seria un puntaso por que seria una eleccion irremediable asi que si jugaste con ellie antes literalmente no podrias ganar el la ruta de abby dejando a esta saga donde se merece en algo unico y especial pero prefirieron desordenar la historia, darnos momentos el control de abby sin ningun tipo de motivo y nosotros tener que derrotar a ellie que si lo planteas asi, yo como jugador no voy a querer que gane abby… Expand

Don't create plot holes and sub par story just to push an agenda. Games have had similar themes, similar characters, and were overall better because that wasn't the focal point. La perdida de un buen personaje no hara el juego malo, no me dejo llevar por el fanatismo obsesivo. Хочу начать с того что игра выглядит очень красиво геймплей напоминает 1ую часть (которая намного лучше чем эта а почему расскажу потом) но при этом добавились новые механики например прыжок, ползание и т.д. Поменялся и.и в лучшую сторону(поймёте по мере прохождение если уже прошли 1ую). А теперь хочу сказать про сюжет. Сюжет становится непонятным после финала почему? Сейчас расскажу. Основной сюжет начинается с момента где Джоэла убивает накаченная баба с клюшкой для гольфа и это всё на глазах у Элли. После чего начинается путешествие в котором мы убиваем куча народу чтобы убить убийцу Джоэла. Но в конце битвы Элли решает оставлять в живых Эбби(накаченная баба) и после этого получается что всё время Элли занималась хрен знает чем и что она сделала все жертвы напрасно потому что она цели не добилась но если игра дала выбор оставить в живых эбби или нет это сделала игру намного лучше. Но в конце был намёк на третью часть потому что её подружка Дина оставила её в одиночестве чего Элли боялась больше всего и после этого мы видели сцену где Элли идёт на поиски Дины. Мораль в том что насилие приводит к большему насилию. P.S забыл сказать про флешбеки Элли с Джоэлом и это выглядит прекрасно вот и всё.… Expand

    Repetitive button mashing. This is not a game. Reminds me of those terrible "interactive" movie games in the 90s where you were just forced to play through a completely predefined script and watch some terrible footage - for 30 hours...

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. To be clear for an overall experience I don't think this game is the worst of the worst, I think its an OK game. Without including the drama around the game, the thing that turned me off was the story, and no I don't just mean a specific event that happens 2 hours into the game. The story as a whole for me was just not nearly as good as its predecessor The Last Of Us. For starters, the game felt forced. What I mean by this is it did not have an organic feeling that any good story would have. In many instances it felt as if things happened because they needed to happen rather than naturally occuring and this is where The Last Of Us and The Last Of Us Two really differentiate themselves. The controversial scene around the 2 hour mark did feel as if it was one of the many instances of the game needing a certain trigger to start. The event was in no way shape or form clever and unique which really did spoil the moment all together. I would even argue it was out of character and did not bring justice to a certain character in The Last Of Us. Another instance of an out of place event would be at the end of the game. The ending truly left me puzzled as to what it wanted to accomplish. You look at games like the God Of War trilogy which bases its entire story around revenge and is loved by many fans.
    Why did The Last Of Us Two fail? It's because it is not true to its main capturing theme of revenge. Ellie goes through the entire story wanting to avenge a certain character just to not get her revenge at the very end. This left me baffled especially since the writers did such a poor job on winning my sympathy over the person who killed a certain character. People were left unsatisfied with this ending because nobody cared for the murderer. This underwhelming and unsatisfying story left many unhappy because many love The Last Of Us for its story. That's usually what I value the most when buying single-player games, especially ones made by naughty dog. We were all expecting an engaging story filled with character development and mixed emotions on other characters. All we got was a black and white narrative that failed at changing our views on who was good and who was bad. On the contrary, The Last of Us Two did have stellar graphics which I can proudly say they’re some of the best graphics I have ever seen. The environment you play in is so diverse and beautiful I found myself occasionally just stopping and gazing off to the background. The gameplay was much smoother and more polished than its predecessor The Last Of Us Two. With regards to the gameplay aspect, I did enjoy every moment of combat that this game had to offer and enjoyed exploring the The Last Of Us Two environment. It may seem as my review is one-sided, but I just had a lot to say about the story. Other than that I can confidently say The Last Of Us Two did have beautiful graphics and immersive gameplay that people will enjoy.    … Expand

    Just as good as the first one! The story, the gameplay, the visuals: everything was amazing. The twists and ending are incredible. It took about 23 hours to finish for me, and it was definitely worth it. I cannot wait for the third one!

Mas no contexto geral a Naugthy Dog arrasou abordando várias temáticas como perda, redenção, trauma, culpa e a linha tênue entre o amor e ódio...e sem deixar de dar o devido destaque “merecido” na ousadia em explorar a relação entre Ellie e Dina.     Everything else is on par with the first game (maybe even a little better sometimes) and the difficulty settings are GREAT and you can tweak elements of the game to your liking. They give you the ability to adjust minor things like how plentiful supplies are, how accurate enemies are etc. etc. I hope other developers take note of this in the future and incorporate this into their games. it's so rare to see customization like this and allows you to basically create your own experience.

    I honestly would have scored this game lower if it weren't for the slight game-play improvements, better graphics and the difficulty customization options.

    The story is the most integral part of this experience though and it doesn't even come close to matching or surpassing the first story, so i can't in good conscious give this a higher score.    … Expand

    After completing the Last of Us Remastered, Left Behind DLC I went straight into the Last of Us 2. For context i spent 30 hours in the game, completed the game on hard difficulty and completed most of the achievements (those possible in a single play through).

    I can safely say this is one of the most amazing peices of story telling this generation of games. I need to emphasize, if    After completing the Last of Us Remastered, Left Behind DLC I went straight into the Last of Us 2. For context i spent 30 hours in the game, completed the game on hard difficulty and completed most of the achievements (those possible in a single play through).

    I can safely say this is one of the most amazing peices of story telling this generation of games. I need to emphasize, if you've played any naughtydog games, they are experiental. What this means is you gain most of the context through the conversations between characters, through facial expressions, music and emotion portraid by the voice actors.

    There is a complex narrative that interweaves journeys from both sides, having you question who was right and who was wrong.

    Yes Joels death was heartbreaking, but the game spends 20 hours + fleshing out the why. By the end of the game i was torn between who i was vouching for.

    I urge you to bypass all the negative reaction you've seen, there has been a hate campaign against this campaign that started over 2 years ago when they talked about exploring Ellie's sexuality.

    Any reviews you read on here that score the game under 5 there's a high chance they haven't even played the game, even if you do not like the story and direction it's taken, there's an incredible game, technical masterpeice to experience.

    If you look at the majority of low reviews , they are from the day the game was released. Most people have opinions formed before the game even released.

    It's ridiculous to think you can form an opinion on the narrative without experiencing how it's delivered.

    I waited close to a decade for this. The first one was a masterpiece, great storytelling. The bond between Ellie and Joel. And In the sequel what? Just for them to treat Joel with such disrespect? What a huge disappointment.

    Not to mention the major mistakes in story. What I recommended is naughty dog revise the story and release new version disk. So that old version disk can be collected as a wrong version.

    The brigading of this title is unfortunate, because it really is a masterpiece. If you enjoyed the first one, there is no reason you wouldn’t enjoy this one. Definitely highly recommend.

    Many of the reviews haven't even played the game. It's almost a 30 hour game and they've reviewed it less than 24 hours after release? No. This game is good. At first I wasn't a fan of the new playable character, but she grows on you. I still don't like her, but it was tolerable. Even though you lose a main character right away, the story still goes on. Very enjoyable game overall.

    Pros:
    Nice graphics, when it's not bugging out
    Nice animations, when they are finishing properly and not clipping
    Nice sound design

    Cons:
    Graphics is buggy - frequent shimmering of reflections, visible LODs, sometimes textures do not load in hires for minutes, occasional props made from literally 3 polygons, breaks immersion all the time
    Animations can be very unnaturaly canceled when transitioning to one another, models sometime cant let go of objects from previous animations
    Gameplay is still same from tlou, NPC is still dumb, you can deal with every encounter by sitting in one corner and "stockpiling" bodies cuz dumb enemies just go straight to their dead allies without flanking or waiting for help, all my death was to scuffed controls (like looting box instead of grabbing enemy)
    Worst part is the story, its full with bad character development, awkward phrasing, plot holes and out-of-character moves - Dina moves from "first kiss" to sex and " i will go on a suicide mission with u" in ~48h? Joel risks his and brother lives to save some stranger? Tommy forces Elly to go on a suicide revenge trip twice? Secnod time in very rude manner & while Elly has family? Etc. Some small things, like Elly never mentions death of hers horse, which was wtih her for at least 4 years? List goes on ...

    Ending is garbage - "right/good" act cant be truly appreciated without freedom of choice, wich developers could done with ease, not to mention that this sudden change feels strange and out of place

    This game is probably 4/10, but i give it a 0 to compensate for 1010 fanboys and out of contempt to misleading marketing wtih Joel in every trailer and "CINEMATIC COMBAT WITH SMART OPPONENTS".

    Better stay away from this game if u value your money and time, good games dont get review-bombing.    … Expand

    It’s a redemption arc about how revenge is bad, but the person who gets revenge walks away free and with a loved one while the one who gives it up because it’s bad loses everything.

    Terrible writing creates an irredeemable character you are forced to play as and there is an unneeded graphic sex scene involving a trans person.

    Just skip this unless you get off to wokeness or hate money.    … Expand
