But before the release, I was nervous because people began to throw mud at the game that has not yet been released ,and then went to the opinions of players on Metacritic who began to say that the game denigrates everything and will make my children become homosexuals, and so on! But fortunately as always it turned out to be the opinion of PC users, homophobes and other stupid people. At the very beginning of the game, I thought that I was stabbed with a knife ,but the more I played the game, I understood more and more what the creators wanted, thank you for trying to convey your thoughts through suffering, sorry stupid people that they do not deserve such games (((Graphics, production, etc. you are a priori geniuses ,I do not understand how you can give out such graphics on the console in 2013,my rtx 2080ti bitterly cries !Thank you again, thank you very much. From Russia with love, do not be very angry at our gamers they are mostly good ,but just very poor and because of this angry at everything((( Expand

Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. TLOU part II, like the name sugest, is a second part of an story. So you need to analise the game as a sequel for the first game.

About the game-play: TLOU2 give to us the smooth game-play for the first game, with a lot of improve; the shooter part of the game have the same mechanic of the first game, with more animations and more smooth animations, everything sounds more real, the fight mechanics of the second game is way better than the first game, the aditional evasion mechanic makes the melle fight way better too, most important, the melle animations make sense with the scape mechanics, making a fluid scene in every fight scene.

About the story: You need to understand that this game occours 4 years after the first game; Joel, Ellie and the rest of thw crew showed to us on the first game are now living in a "peacefull" city, with a "Peacefull" live, when you read the log of scouts, this is more clear. So... There`s some aspects of this situation you need to understand to get the point of the plot.

When you move on the plto, you have a mission, a revenge mission, and a Breaking Bad mission also. The thing about this game is about you, becaming a monster, and undertand what makes you a monster... And why eveybody in this game is a monster.

There`s plot hole, this is true. The game isin`t perfect, this is true also. But the things that this game makes good, is SO GOOD, that makes the bad things simple and small.

IMO this is a 10/10 game.

While I agree that the first game is a masterpiece, Part 2 is even more so for me on so many levels... This game indeed has a very controversial story, but it makes perfect sense to me and I understand the decisions that the characters have made. Also, the parallel storytelling is absolutely genius, and it plays with my emotions so much. Then there's environment and gameplay, which are definitely elevated from the first game and then some.

Now let's get onto the real SPOILER heavy portion of this review...

    ===Story===
Naughty Dog wanted to make a game with a theme of vengeance, and they did just that. The whole game is surrounded by vengeance, and what people are willing to do to fulfill that. In my opinion, the story and character reactions were complicated but never out of place, even though sometimes they can be very overwhelming. I won’t dive too deep into the plot, but I do want to address two main arguments that fans are having.

First of all, I would like to say that killing off a beloved character simply does not mean a story is bad. I understand people's feeling are hurt, since someone you love so much from the first game got brutally killed. But let’s be honest, Joel is not a hero. While this doesn’t mean he should die (especially in such way), you cannot say his death is not justified, especially that he killed someone's father, and essentially ruined the chance of a cure for the human race.

Now let's move on to the main playable characters. Ellie was set on a quest to seek revenge because her father(-figure) was murdered, and she went on every length to accomplish that, which is what most of the players want to do after witnessing Joel's death. But when it comes to Abby, whose father was killed by Joel, also set on a quest to seek revenge, I noticed many people are suddenly not okay with that. Honestly, I think Abby's action is just as justified as Ellie's, the difference is that Joel's death is personal to the players, but Jerry (Abby's father)'s is not.

    ===Storytelling===
Storytelling might be my favorite part of the game because it gives the players different perspectives. When I played as Ellie and Abby, I get to see their personal life, and experience their thoughts and memories separately. At a certain part of the game, I have to go to the same area twice, but as different characters. When I first played as Ellie, I didn't think much and just by default eliminated everyone in that area; but later, as I play as Abby (timeline wise Abby gets there earlier than Ellie so everyone's still alive), I get to talk to them and interact with them. While this doesn't make me feel entirely "guilty" that Ellie has killed them all (since they are obstacles to her goal), it added a personal touch to that story and gameplay, knowing these are Abby’s friends (and fur-friends) and they are just doing their job.

The parallel storytelling in this game makes me think a lot more than other games. It turned an otherwise linear revenge story into something much deeper and much more human. I equally love Ellie and Abby at the end of the game because I see them both as human, instead of two game characters who are blessed by the creators, I feel their loss and pain, and I understand why they made all the decisions.

    ===Environment and Gameplay===
I will not spend too much time on this other than saying the game is gorgeous but brutal, and the combat is super fun yet can be extremely challenging (especially a certain new clicker).

Frankly, I don't write reviews much, but with the tremendous hate that this game has gotten, I feel a need to express my opinions (hence certain parts of this review are more of my reaction). Of course, Naughty Dog can just make another game of a cross-country tour featuring Ellie and Joel that's filled with love, and people would be happy. But I admire what Naughty Dog has crafted. It's a very dark, intense, complicated, and controversial story; but through the gameplay, I feel a much stronger emotion towards the story and much deeper connection to the characters than I excepted.

This is a game that I would highly recommend anyone to EXPERIENCE firsthand, rather than just be an observer or just storm through the plot. There will be times that you feel happy and loved through the characters’ eyes, but also moments to drown in shock, hatred, and revenge. Afterall, they are human in a post-apocalyptic world, and they are all just trying to survive.

This game will take you approximately 25 hrs to beat, so anyone who published a review on the day it released, is either someone who never played it, or speedran through it, ignoring the story beats. That said, I love this game. I thought the story was great, gameplay solid, music and graphics are outstanding. I never felt like everyone we knew, would survive a second go around, to think so would be unrealistic in this apocalyptic world. That said, deaths were poignant and impact full. Pacing can be off at times. little things like safe cracking without the codes, and a characters fear of heights and how is it portrayed are a wonderful touch. As for length, I feel like they could have double dipped on us. By that i mean they could have put most of the second have out as dlc at a later date, but they didnt. I think we got two games in one here, and i am very happy with it. Expand

I do however want to say that on the other side of the coin that if I go and see a 90 minute James Bond movie I don't expect to be forced to sit through 70 minutes of Dr No and his chums. To be fair though (like many of you) I was going to buy this game no matter what. I was looking forward to it and somewhere along the line I got swept away with the advertising, all be it in hindsight false advertising. Never again, I have learnt my lesson. The last time I felt this cheated was when I bought Dragons Lair for the spectrum 48k, it was nothing like the arcade version (and never could be) but advertised as if it was. Packed with wonderfully varied and beautiful places to explore which makes venturing off the beaten path all feel worth while. Combat can be stealthy or loud leading to viscous encounters. The story that takes you on a journey that will stay with you, from its quiet solem moments, to moments of terror and all out action. During my 25 hours I found little to no issues with the gameplay or (shock horror) the story which I surprisingly enjoyed, it made for a refreshing tale from Seeing 2 perspectives that kept me glued for hours on end. Even after having the game spoiled for me, I still found the story incredibly enjoyable introducing new characters all fleshed out and brought to life thanks to the games amazing visuals. The performances of the actors are also exceptional with many stand out moments. Seeing things from a different perspective made for an interesting story and gave more insight to what the world has become and those that inhabit it. The horror moments are definitely there too, several times the game caught me off guard making for some intense games of cat and mouse with the infected. Human enemies are also interesting, the stand out being the Scars, who communicate through a series of whistles and can easily catch you off guard. These intense moments are made all the more exciting thanks to the absolute stunning visuals. This is complimented by sound design, while using Razer Threshers the game sounds incredible to trickles of water to haunting echoes of gunfire in the distance. The game is also very accessible with generous checkpoints and a vast array of options to help those enjoy tdifferent ways with text to speach and more. In spite of being massively hated by people who haven't even played it, don't make that mistake. The last of us 2 is one hell of an adventure and will definitely be one I return to in the future.

If I was to have any niggling issues it a few insta deaths but it's nothing too severe. Some times the pacing feels a little off but in the grand scheme of things this was also a minor issue for me. The flashbacks didn't bother me and it was easy enough for me to follow and understand.

While I have said the graphics are amazing, I feel I need to reaffirm just to how spectacular they are. On PlayStation Pro this game is eye wateringly good, right down to little details. The water is just amazing, there's even little frogs that populate some areas, it's without a doubt the most jaw dropping game I've played in terms of visuals. It looks so damn good, you may have seen the GIFs from SunhilLegend where the gameplay looks like a cutscene in action. Just very impressive. The last of us 2 is another quality title in a long line of quality exclusives for the PlayStation platform, packed with so many incredible moments. It's a perplexing issue as to why so many hate it, I can't speak for them, but my own experience was overwhelmingly positive. Its certainly one of those things people will argue until they're blue in the face. Some people will just hate it regardless and I can't understand why. My time spent playing was an absolute adventure. Its brutal, bloody, emotional and I can't wait to play it all over again on PS5.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Last Of Us: Part II plot is just plain bad. It's flat, like a first draft. It's not bold, it's lazy. The old characters' actions do not hold up to what they did in the first installement (Joel shouts out his name to strangers, Tommy is just a senseless killer and Ellie is a dark, horrible person) and the new characters are just simply boring, unlikeable people the developers try to make us empathize with via really manipulative and lazy strategies. Ellie kills dogs, Abby plays with dogs, Manny's father has Parkinson's disease, etc. Dina and her ex are so boring and flat, you couldn't care less if they were in the game or not. Abby is just a sociopath, who would've killed pregnant Dina if it wasn't for Lev. Owen is a cheating bastard, Mel is a passive aggressive and incredibly irresponsible woman (she goes on missions while pregnant) and Manny is a very bad written latin sterotype. Lev and his sister are Okay, I guess, given the fact that they have background as "scars", and they uphold this aura of mystery. but that's pretty much it. I wanted Abby and her friends to die so bad, I struggled to finish her timeline. Abby's father is a jackass that puts his life and the life of his daughter at risk to save a zebra, like, come on man, you're the town doctor, don't flee like that. Maybe it is on the graphics perspective it's a historic moment, but not at all on storytelling. They CLEARLY wanted us to like Abby, not to hate her, they tried to do it via those lazy and manipulative strategies I mentioned before, it does not make any sense what they are saying about this game being amazing by making you play as **** Abby, forcing you to do it if you want to finish the game. This is a triple A title, they would't risk it like that, it's not and indie game, for God's sake. This is not how you do the "ego death" thing. Like Angry Joe said, you could've played as Abby from the beginning, let us see her trauma, then let her meet Ellie, make them bond, fight together, then they could both find out the truth, maybe Abby knew all along, then Abby Kills Joel and Ellie kills Abbie, but you get that bittersweet drama at the end. But no, it's not like that, it's lazy as **** Naughty Dog didn't play with my soul, they played with my expectations, giving us all false advertising and writing a really bad story for the sequel of one of the best games, if not the best game of all time. I loved zombie parts and it is fun when they are around but they generally aren't. Story is very very bad written, so much questionable scenes that does not make any sense, if you have replayed TLOU1 just a few days ago this is even more disturbing, most actions of the characters does not make any sense and so out of their character. You will spend some hours very boringly with zero action, plot holes in the story makes you dont want to go on. The ending is sooooooo bad and bleak it literally spits on all the hours you spent in the game and as the credits roll you have a big 'F you thats why' feeling. The developers clearly aimed to make you think and say to yourself 'maybe i should not go on' and this is exaclty what you need to do. Instead of paying the game and regretting as i did and going through the end just to regret more, don't buy it. Buy Doom Eternal, buy RDR2 if you haven't, buy GoW, keep your money fpr Ghost of Tsushima, but if you decide to but this game non the less, then get ready to regret every penny you have wasted. I'm not going to deny that this game was hard to play. Not difficult, just emotionally trying. That was exactly what the intention was. To me Naughty Dog took a huge risk here and it played out beautifully. It is well set up for a sequel and hopefully they won't keep us waiting another 8 yeatw!

I would have given this a 10/10 if they didn't have to shove a STRAIGHT character down our throats. I don't personally have an issue with straight people but why do they have to force Abby's degenerate lifestyle into the story?

It is, however, unfortunate that so many people seem to not only disregard the game entirely but also any logical way of reviewing the game simply because they disliked one particular aspect of it. Any reviews up to about 5/10 should simply be disregarded as the writer having a tantrum and not reviewing the game objectively in any way.

To me, it is the story of a game that makes it worth playing. However, there must also be emphasis placed on other components of a game. So I will breakdown this review into the following categories and their weight on the overall review score:

Story (both the actual story arc and then how this arc is executed) - 4
    Graphics - 2
    Sound design - 2
    Gameplay mechanics - 2
    Total - 10

    Story - 4/4
The story arc of this game is, on the surface, relatively simple. You take control of Ellie (and a few others along the way), a 19 year old girl who finds herself seeming to be the only person immune to a deadly fungal infection. The majority of the game is spent in Seattle where Ellie is seeking revenge for the loss of a loved one. However, there is so much more to this story than simply revenge and the true beauty of this game lies in its journey and it's nuance. This is not a black and white game. There is no morally correct person, no hero character. This game is about dealing with loss and how that feeling can destroy a person and everything around them. You as the player will have to do some truly abhorrant things along your journey throughout this world. But by the end of the game, it is truly one of the most beautiful and remarkable pieces of story telling I have every experienced. However, there is one portion of the games execution which feels rough. During the middle area of the game the player is left with a cliff hanger. A cliff hanger that goes on for so long that I found myself desperately rushing the following 10 or so hours or gameplay just so I could find out what happened. I was terrified of the place I had been left in and it left a sour taste in the mouth for a good portion of the game. After completing the game it's entirely gone. I can appreciate what we were given and why, but it really hurt a large portion of my first play though. Perhaps the way the game was structured could have been altered so we only had a couple of hours or so before getting some resolution, I don't know. It is a minor issue and with hindsight does not justify dropping a full point. I would probably give 3.5/4 for story and 9.5 in total if I could but unfortunately here that is not an option so, 4/4 it is.

    Graphics - 2/2
The graphics are quite simply extraordinary. This is truly one of the best looking games of our time. The locations and backdrops are truly breathtaking to look at and the character fidelity is stunning, if also, horrifying. Seeing the eyes of an unsuspecting victim roll upward as their choked on your relentless quest for revenge is something hard to forget. Violence is not glorified, but it is given a realistic representation through these details.

    Sound - 2/2
The sound effects and music are incredibly well done. Hearing the shattering of a broken window and all it's pieces dropping to the ground or the ricocheing of bullets as the bounce around you sounds real. Enemies have a terrifying and recognisable sound to them. Guttural roars, howling whistles and perfect voice acting, all of which further embed the realism of the work you are inhabiting. The music follows the tone of the gameplay and story by providing calm release, serenading you through the astonishing moments of beauty you encounter, whilst adding an unprecedented and unbearable amount of tension during enemy encounters. The whine of a sound akin to a low siren becomes an ever present fear.

    Gameplay Mechanics 2/2
The Last of Us 2 improves in every way, the gameplay of its predecessor. Character movement is fluid and realistic as you make seamless transitions between dodging and striking enemies, climbing over obstacles and stalking through the array of natural foliage that has taken of the world of Seattle. As you roll onto your back whilst prone so you can craft an item or fire an arrow at an enemy creeping up behind you. Speaking of which, enemies are well created and plentiful, in both quantity and variety. They will communicate to one another, flank you, and try to outsmart you. Dogs will whimper by the limp bodies of their handlers, humans will cry out the names of their friends as they find them fallen. Infected enemies will attack not only yourself but human AI and, in some cases, each other. There is so much more that could be written but alas...word limit.
It's also worth there is a huge amount of accessibility controls included.

This is a remarkable game not to missed. 10/10

Somehow, Naughty Dog managed to strike a darker tone than its predecessor, and after the eight days it took me to complete the story on medium difficulty, I was emotionally exhausted. Yet the characters and their plights haunted me well after the credits rolled. Sure some of the themes were heavy-handed, the pacing suspect at times, and the character motivations questionable. The story was a bit manipulative, but I have to give Naughty Dog credit for successfully manipulating me. I went from rooting for Ellie in the beginning to changing my allegiance and backing her principal adversary. I enjoyed the improved combat sequences. Encounters in the original game were a bit monotonous, alternating between clusters of infected and bands of faceless human baddies. The "Left Behind" DLC gave us a tantalizing introduction to encounters with multiple factions, and the sequel provides an even wider variety of conflict dynamics. The sequel expands upon all the things I enjoyed most from the original: the detailed settings, evoking poignant reminders to a dead civilization, frenetic combat, and moral relativism.

All the main characters are weary and jaded, having long since become numb to the horrors of a lawless "zombie" dystopia. I particularly enjoyed one optional throwaway dialogue that is triggered when Ellie and a companion discover the ruins of a store specializing in Halloween items, a callback to a similar scene in a mall featured in the "Left Behind" DLC. No longer the irreverent goofball who puts on masks and relishes puns, Ellie shoots down her companion's attempt to engage her in a conversation about their festive surroundings with a cold remark about not being into such frivolous things.

I've read many of the critiques of the story, but I do not share them--at least to the extent that others do. Joel and Ellie were no angels in the first "Last of Us", and I almost thought they were let off easy in the original's conclusion. Joel, in particular, had many sins to atone for, and the original dropped plenty of clues. There was Tess' line about them being **** people." There was Joel being too familiar with the brutal tactics of the Pittsburgh killers, and hinting that he had engaged in similar practices prior to the events in Boston. And, of course, there was the gratuitous violence he inflicted upon the surgeons at the hospital. I would have been surprised if the sequel did not introduce a new character with sympathetic motives seeking retribution. It quote Clint Eastwood's character in "Unforgiven," "we all have it coming."

I have already started a new game, with the intent on acquiring all the items and upgrades I missed in the original. I doubt the sequel will have the same replay value as the original and the DLC, not because of diminished gameplay or storytelling, but because of the tragic end that befall so many of the characters and the relentless misery. Yet, at its core, it's still a video game, and a beautiful and engaging one at that. This is still a world in which a bullet wound can be cured in seconds with a bit of gauze and tape, and taking enough of those expired pills in your medicine cabinet will teach you how to make more efficient pipe bombs. So let's keep things in perspective here!

From wanting to take my revenge for what a character has done to me to then switching and yet again take my revenge against the character I had played 10 hours ago. It takes risk and massive guts to try and switch my perspective and opinions and they succeeded wildly. The game really has to be played to be able to understand and appreciate what it’s doing. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Making a sequel to a beloved game is always a difficult task. In most cases, sequels are bad and never reach the technical quality of the first game. The Last of Us Part II is a rare exception to that rule.

    GAMEPLAY

The gameplay is similar to the first game, but it contains reinventions and a few changes. Such as: The dodge and the jump. The weapon upgrade system is much more satisfying than it's predecessor. With a wide arrange of weapons, upgrading each and every single one of them, change not only the aesthetic but the way you play it. The jump button is very important to the level design of the game, since now, you have a traversal option to approach the enemies. I found the dodge thoroughly entertaining, it adds to the frenetic and fast paced combat of the game.

    PACE

The pacing of the game is adequate. It fits into the story, and it shows how Naughty Dog has grown in this particular aspect. Since previous games of the company had some pacing issues such as Uncharted 4 and The Last of Us. I'm really happy to see that Naughty Dog made her homework.

    ENVIRONMENT

Naughty Dog's level design was always very inspired. In this game, it reaches a whole other level. Non linear sequences add to the feel of the post apocalyptic world of the game and also reward the ones who explore. With collectibles and unique sequences that add to the overall meaning of the story. Seattle, the city where you play most of the game only proves that Naughty Dog is amazing in it's art direction.

    STORY

The story of The Last of Us Part II is Amazing. It follows Ellie in a quest for revenge and Abby (the new character) in a quest for redemption. The narrative talks about a lot of different themes. Such as: Empathy, Hate, Love, Legacy, Redemption, Sacrifice... the list goes on. Nothing in this game happens for free. Everything has a meaning or meanings. It's really about deconstructing the characters we know.

    PERFORMANCES

Ashley Johnson kills as Ellie, giving a career defining performance that is sure to change acting in videogame forever. Laura Bailey is the star of the game, she carries Abby's character arc forward and made me love the character even more than I thought I would. Troy Baker destroys as the intimidating but charming Joel.

The Last of Us Part II is a sequel made in spectacular fashion that not only respects the story of the first game while also adds to it.

PS: I experienced some bugs while playing the game. But nothing that destroyed the experience.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Uhmmmmm..I've never written one of these before, because I've never cared about a game this much before. I'm sure no one will read this, but I need to write this for myself as much as for the off chance that it will actually get read. I am Joel's age, I have two daughters that were Ellie's age for game one and subsequently game two. Hell my youngest daughter, who is now 15, is named Elle and has come out as gay!! This was OUR game, we loved it. We COSPLAYED it at Houston's COMICPALLOOZA. We have been waiting for this game for 7 years. The pre-order for LOS 2 was their Christmas present to me last year. And in a blink of an eye, NaughtyDog destroyed that for us. Tore up my memories and a very special connection that I had with my daughters. Of course in the span of things this is a small hurt, but it was special to me. There are no games that have had this relationship explored. Seven years ago, I teared up when Joel lost his daughter. NaughtyDog not only killed Joel, but they killed his relationship with Ellie and they also killed the Ellie we all knew. They did this for selfish, narcissistic (sp?), and ( I suspect) SJW reasons.

Additionally, NaughtyDog knew they had a pile of crap on their hands because they lied to us for over a year on what the game would be. To compare, if you were sold that "Schindler's List" was a wonderful period peace love story set in Nazi Germany; rather than a heart rending true story master peace, you would come out of the movie pissed; no matter how good the movie was. Is Schindler's List a great movie? Yes! Was it what you thought you were buying you and your date a ticket for? HELL NO!!!

The game is beautiful, the mechanic's are good but boring, and it's very similar to the original. However, it's depressing, with a convoluted story where characters make decisions that would never be made. The game is just bad. These Hipster SJW's gave us a "Tin Man", excuse me...a "Tin Person": Shiney, Operable, but NO HEART!!!

Finally NaughtyDog (if anyone associated with Naughty Dog actually reads this) shame on you. You lied and cheated your fans for 4 million pre-release sales, you stuck Joel's head next to Luke's and Han's, and you tore apart a very special bond between this father and his daughters . I will never forgive you all for what you did to a wonderful story and I most certainly will never buy another one of your games.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. As a person who has played The Last of Us numerous times, marking it as one of my favourite games of all time, I cannot elaborate enough my colossal disappointment with this game. I made a metacritic account for the sole purpose of writing this review.

To begin, the graphical fidelity of this game is remarkable. It's absolutely beautiful to look at, and locations look so real. The combat feels the same as before, but there is some freedom to the gameplay since you can go prone in grass and hide under things (wow, revolutionary right?). But that is not why I disdain this game. The real reason is because of the story, writing, characters and the ending to this **** game.

I do not give a **** about the characters in this game. Mostly. Therefore, I do not care about what's happening in the story. After Joel's stupid demise, I ended up just not caring about what was happening. Sure, thinking about killing Abby was nice, but it's a pretty long time before Ellie and Abby ever meet, AND YOU DON'T EVEN PLAY AS ELLIE. YOU PLAY AS ABBY. WHAT THE **** WERE YOU THINKING, NEIL?

Before I get to that point, the game feels like a 20 hour long side quest and not a lot of significant things happen. The entire purpose is to find and get revenge on Abby. But most of the game isn't that. It's watching characters do tedious puzzles and hearing them make stupid jokes in throwaway dialogue. Sure, i have to admit there were some impressive set-pieces there and then, like Ellie and Jesse in the car, speeding away from the WLF and the infected, but as a whole, it was quite boring and dull.

I've seen live-streams of people and I've never seen such a more bored group of individuals watching someone else play the game.

After like 10 hours, you have a cutscene of Abby pointing a gun at Tommy and Ellie, killing Jesse in the process (a character I didn't care for since he barely had screentime), then it does something so **** stupid it blows my mind. It makes me PLAY ABBY HERSELF FOR ANOTHER 20 HOURS? NOBODY GIVES A **** ABOUT THIS **** FRIDGE OF A WOMAN. SO WHY THE **** AM I BEING WATERBOARDED WITH ANOTHER 10 HOUR ****FEST OF ME PLAYING AS SOMEONE I DON'T CARE ABOUT? THIS FRIDGE, WHO LOOKS LIKE A 9 YEAR OLD CHILD AND A 40 YEAR OLD MAN AT THE SAME TIME, IS THE PERSON WE HAVE TO PLAY?!

People in livestreams exclaimed in joy whenever Abby gets shot, falls off a building, burned alive, her neck snapped. This is the same character we are forced to sympathise with, yet nobody at this point of the game cares about her. We have to see her interact with other one-dimensional characters and the ONLY good one that I can remember, being Lev. I somewhat liked Lev and his/her interactions with Abby. But at that point of the game, I stopped caring that much about him/her.

Then, when get through the game, we're back to the present, Abby kills Jesse, then cripples Tommy, then proceeds to chase Ellie down and beat the ever-living **** out of her, knocking her pregnant girlfrined out. Ellie goes back for revenge afterwards.

And this is the part where I'm the most infuriated.
THE ENDING. After having this "epic showdown" with Abby, Ellie gets two of her fingers bitten off. Ellie proceeds to drown the **** in the water. But then, after a brief flashback of Joel, she doesn't kill her, because "REVENGE BAD lmao". Ellie literally loses her fingers, her girlfriend, her relationship with Tommy, she loses Joel, her parental figure, but Abby gets to live and get off almost scotfree?

    WHAT THE ****?
BECAUSE OF THAT ENDING, THE GAME BEEN RENDERED A COMPLETE WASTE OF **** TIME AND MONEY. 60 GREAT BRITISH STONES GONE. ABOUT 20-25 HOURS GONE. FOR THAT **** ENDING?

I'd rather replay Mass Effect 3 and watch the ending a thousand times over this dog**** of a result. Fire Neil Druckmann, don't ever let him milk this murdered franchise, and keep him far away from the gaming industry along with that witch Anita Sarkeesian. I've never been more **** angry seeing a game since... I don't even know!

so yeah this game is **** and is only 3/10 because graphics i guess.

The gameplay is action packed and tense, similar to that of the first game but amplifies and tightened at the screws. The game can pan out without a single bug or jitter of the Ps4 console, this is surprising as the game is massive! At times it feels like an open world game, even though it’s not supposed to be! The game is about 20-30 hours depending on how much you decide to explore. And NO the game is not too long, it’s a game for gods sake. When have people ever complained about a game being too long? In summary, The Last Of Us Part 2 while being controversial and brave, is the culmination of years of passionate development and a spectacle of what the Ps4 can accomplish and what we can hope to expect from future games! Definitely worth the money, even if the story is too complex for you or you don’t like it, it’s worth playing until the end and experiencing a game that shines with the very passion its creators have put into it!!! This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Not because they killed a main character from the first game. Not because all the main characters are gay, bi, trans and.... whatever the hell the other one is.... It's because the writing, dialog and characters are so so so so so bad. Considering the first game is my favourite story (not game) of all time this franchise has fallen so unbelievably far. It's painful, like really painful how bad this entire experience is. They were trying to be edgy at the expense of everything else. The things they get you to witness and do are horrible, but they could have worked if it was done in a different way. It's so odd to see a Naughty Dog game executed this bad that it's making me wonder if any of the people who are still there had anything to do with the previous titles.

If you like the original game, even a little bit, I would advise staying far away from this one. Pretend that it doesn't exist and you will be a lot happier.

Well, yes, Gameplay's much same same but different but also: Never change a running system, right?

Story, what should I say, first is that I liked it a lot even if it's over large parts very quiet and just go straight up in the moments we're it have to do it and then it do it extraordinary good.
And if we are honest, Part One wasn't different in that.
I am an empathic as hell and I felt and understand every move that was taken by the Charakters, even if I don't like every move that was made, but If I were them, who can tell if I don't do the same things. I am crying because I am as torn apart, sad, weak, exhausted after seeing all of this as the Charakters are after all they've gone through and how couldn't this be a masterpiece of a game if a game make all of this with you.

Ellie's Sexuality was clear since the DLC, and I'm fine with that, God everyone who isn't is just a.... Well, welcome to the 21st Century U......
So much to this from me.

The brutality and gore, yes I think this game needs exactly to be this hard to transport the emotions, the feelings and the roughness that world brings with it. The fighting scenes and some gore effects are tough to watch but not one Charakter have done a thing I wouldn't do in a fight of live and death and I wasn't enjoying these scenes I was FEELING them.

The graphics are superb, I have NEVER seen anything like this in a Videogame before and I can't wait for all what's to come in the Videogame Scene. So at the end now, there's just one last thing to say.

Thank you, Naughty Dog, thank you for this Journey you took me again and I can't wait to see Part 3; and u know that u have to do it.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The first games story served its purpose but wasn't all that complex or intriguing. The gameplay was solid but not very innovative or all that exciting as a stealth action third person shooter. But what sold it and made it one of the greatest games of all time (besides the totally underrated multiplayer) was the characters they crafted. Even up until now, no game had created such fleshed out and believable characters with real motivations and interactions that actually made you care for them. Which is why it's such a disappointment in actually waiting seven years for this developer to bring us that same level of commitment to characters in the form of a sequel and utterly destroy every notion of character building that brought their first game such huge praise and success. And the "voices" of the industry want you to believe that if you don't like these characters, you're basically a hateful person and don't support inclusivity in the gaming medium. I have actually gotten arguments against me saying I'm not for representation in gaming because I don't like the game. This is an absurd conclusion to make because there are actually great games that have made many strides in representation in the gaming community that people praise, including myself. And one of them is the DLC for the previous game! The problem with the characters in The Last of Us Part 2 is not that they're too representative, it's that they're just not very well written. This is exactly what happened in Game of Thrones season 8. The need to subvert expectations overrode their ability to craft intricate characters and organic situations that would naturally bring them together. The first part of the game is just trying to find the fastest way to kill Joel so we can get to Ellie's revenge story. That's a problem because it leads to the contrived actions of characters they spent the entire last game showing you they wouldn't put themselves in. And when we get to the point of no return, the other group has to keep making dumb decisions just to keep the plot rolling. And no one points this out but just think how the first game took place over a year and how we grew to love and connect with those characters (and the ones they came in contact with) and you contrast it with this game that takes place over the course of ONLY three days then puts you back at the beginning of those three days just to do it over again. How can you expect the characters you create to form connections and bonds with someone after three days and then expect the audience to understand their motivations and reasoning? Then look back at how the originals pacing feels mostly right and hits its story beats while this sequel feels long and needlessly drawn out. Every time a "building in the distance" prompt came up it just keeps reminding you that you probably have hours more to go. What kind of storytelling is building up to a moment of conflict where the character you've been hunting for three days shows up at your doorstep only to have you immediately pulled out of the climax and into their shoes to show their side of things as a cheap emotional trick. And nothing Abby does pertains to Ellie and the overall story. She doesn't even know Ellie exists until the end of her third day. Her entire side story is largely inconsequential to the overall plot of the game. And you have all these story beats tied up in the most contrived situations imaginable. The person Abby has been searching for for four years is at the exact spot she is and saves her when she's about to be devoured by a horde. She kills him while Ellie watches and they don't think this group will come for them after they leave. Ellie and Tommy start hunting them down and it leads them to an aquarium where ELLIE LEAVES BEHIND A MAP SHOWING EXACTLY WHERE THEY ARE. They fight and Abby once again leaves them alive for no logical reason. A year later you have Tommy, someone who is supposed to care for Ellie, come and guilt her back to a revenge engrossed mindset. She tracks her down and has to rescue her so she can kill her, then let's her live because reasons. Ellie didn't learn anything. There was no resolution between the two. She had a flashback of Joel that prevented her from killing the person that brutally murdered him.... when she just spent the entire game shooting hundreds of people in the head who, according to the writing team, were just as good of people as they want u to believe Abby is and you never even gave a second thought about them. This game isn't bad, it's just a disappointment. It's a shame this is what the writers at naughty dog were making for seven years with the full intention of disappointing fans and they never took a step back to ask themselves if this story was necessary to tell for these characters and this world. I'd argue no and I wish I could somehow erase this game from my memory and let part one live on as a standalone experience that told the complete story of Joel and Ellie.

If you pay attention to what's going on and don't reject it because you dislike what happens at the start with Joel's death, you'll see that the game actually does a great job of telling an unconventional and uniquely structured story that IS good. People who only took away 'revenge bad' from the ending have missed the point. It becomes clear through flashbacks from the end that Ellie hates how she treated Joel and hates that she wasted the years that she had left with him since she was never able to forgive what he did, so acted out over the course of the game to take revenge. The game is not about revenge, it's about Ellie forgiving people - Abby and Joel - and moving forward, realising that it just is not worth it. Expand
