    Ok first things first. Love the first game and its dlc. One of my favorite games. Unfortunately i have to warn everyone who is a fan of the first game to avoid this game like the plague. Mechanics are good and graphics are great. If you are a super shallow gamer then that would probably be enough for you. This games story on the other hand is a steaming piece of scrap.     masterpiece.in some part of the game made a lots of question in my head but drukmann in game answer all of it.during the game i asked myself how can it wanna end and finally i got my answer. drukmann proves that theres no black and no white,always is gray. really cant explain how amazing was playing this game.

    Part 2 was supposed to be my shining beacon of light in an otherwise dismal and depressing year. No matter how bad it got, I thought I could rely on this game to bring me some measure of solace. Frankly, it was one of the few things that kept me going. So you can imagine how crushed I am by the senseless, cruel and ultimately meaningless story.

    No me llego a convencer del todo la historia del juego, creo que pudo tener un mejor giro. En los aspectos visuales y técnicos son muy buenos, pero debieron mejorar en los personajes y cómo iban evolucionando a lo largo de la historia.

    Ah another game once again taken away from it's core to appease the minority.

    Forced emotions and a forced narrative. My heart was not in this one when Joel didn't even feel like Joel anymore.

    Ah yes, looked forward to this game for a while and what I received was horrid.

    You know that something is awry when you play the game just for completion sake and to get it off your to-do-list so you can un-install it and make a ticket asking Sony to remove it from library..and they can keep the money too.

    This is just an insult to the fans of the original. I'm sad and disappointed.

    The graphics are fantastic! Animation is fantastic! Everything EXCEPT for the story and writing is fantastic... There are so many things wrong with this game storytelling wise, that explaining why I feel that way..would be exhausting. I also dont want to be labled as a bigot, because apparently if you dislike this game you are one.

    El juego en cuanto a jugabilidad esta bien pero en cuanto a historia es un asco, matar a joel esta bien se acepta aunque duela pero despues de eso el juego es todo malo para Ellie y todos los de Jackson ademas el final es horrible mejor no hubieran sacado el juego, las partes con Abby son aburridisimas, no dan ganas de jugar con ella, lo unico bueno son los infectados

The Last of Us 2 is a game that does a good job at improving the gameplay and visuals over its predecesor...but it's narrative brings it down to a poorly executed pretentious product...that underestimates the intelligence of its audience and is (seemingly) not aware of its own hipocrisssy. Just to give a perspective, the balance between narrative and gameplay in this game can be divided like this: 30% pure combat gameplay, 30% exploration and basic gameplay, and 40% narrative driven sequences. So, having that much narrative makes this game rely a bit too much in its story to move things forward. You feel like you wanna see what happens next, and in that sense the narrative sequences become kind of a reward for the player. Given this, is very hard to judge the game as a whole without the story. And it's a shame that the story in itself suffers from the pretentious intentios behind it. There are pacing issues, there are plotholes, there are badly hidden plot devices and stuff that may (an will) pull you out of the experience. It's hard to get into details without spoiling the game but let me say that you have 2 main protagonists, and the intention of the creators to give a message that is stronger than their skills to build a believable story around it. You have main characters treated like plot devices, you have circumstances that are way too fortuituos to be real, many forced situations just to serve the writers intentions behind them. In most cases it just doesn't work well enough to make it believable. There's a 2nd character that you'll be forced to use for half the game, and they try so hard to make her appealing that it also can put you off the experience. But the worst thing is the epilogue...a forced, hilariously long and convoluted epilogue that does more to lessen the overall ecperience than enrich it. The ending must be one of the pointless things I have ever played and watched in my life. It leaves you empty, and wondering what was the point of even doing this game. To me is not a bad game/experience, but is for sure not a good one. Is just a "meh". Maybe it's worst for those who loved the first one and it's characters. On a final note, just say that there are many subliminal and also on your face messages that will remind you of that so called "secret agenda" form Neil Druckman, and it also can pull you off the experience. From religious statements, to forcing certain type of characters, to making all white males die or be useless or dumb, and a long list that I felt does not add to this review. To me is an experience to have just if you get the game in a very good sale.… Expand

THE CON The last of us is a narrative driven game and sadly the story goes from "okay ill take it" to bad to ultimately worse. Seriously whoever wrote this its just not good with very few likable characters and a loss of direction. Ellie is on the cover of the game and you only play as her for like half of it. Its not the follow up to Joel and Ellies adventure. Its Ellie and other characters who I could care less about with a loss of purpose as the story goes on. Honestly pretty disappointed with how dumb it turned out. Maybe if you didn't play the first game you might like the story buy comparatively its not even in the same league. If you asked me 10 hrs into the game I would have given it a 9, 20hrs in an 8 and then after the conclusion its a 7. Final thoughts Congrats on the team for making and amazing "gameplay experience" that is unmatched Shame on the group of people that decide this was a story even worth considering and then actually sticking with it… Expand

    The game is good, and people who hate this game because you can see LGBT is dum , because you can see LGBT on TLOU2, only 10% of all game. Games story is 9/10, and graphics (games mechanics) is 10/10.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The combat is probably the most decent part of the game. Shoot then melee, that kinda deal. Not bad, not groundbreaking but it works.
    The stealth is phoned in, it's obvious where you can and should use it and the enemy helps you with it. It's a slog.
    The problem comes with the pacing: it goes from boring nothing to intense action back to boring talking then more action. It's back and forth, there is no build-up. It doesn't feel like it's a quite replayable title, it is no Resident Evil 4, you may want to skip chapters entirely.
    The story is what it is, you know the deal, you heard the spoilers.
    The character they push on you is never at any point likable, and I'm not even sure if that was their point. It never feels like a deuteragonist or anti-hero, it just feels like an annoying boss character modded into the game as protagonist..
    I don't know who would in their right mind care for a sequel just to see what happens to her.
    They added the "Lev" angle to get you to like her, and as a "duo" mirror to Ellie and Dina, but while Lev is okay, Abby is not. She has also very questionable moral value when it comes to gratitude and revenge, her gratitude is adjustable. Lev saved you so Lev is cool, torturing to death a man that just saved your life is also ok, or killing a pregnant woman because another pregnant woman was accidentally killed in self-defense, that's no likeable character.

    For a game pushed for its storytelling ability the dialogues are rough and sometimes juvenile, the pacing is awful, the characters often act out of character just to keep the plot going, all the way to the very epilogue.

    The plot also tries to play off Joel as "guilty" of something. Make no mistake: Ellie would've died for no reason, there was never going to be a cure in TLOU1.

    You have to feel sorry for Ellie, not just Joel, the plot is incredibly stupid just so she can be on the short end of the stick at the end. She's left with nothing for no reason, and I don't mean in a "life is unfair" way, I mean "the plot will go full stupid just so she is left with nothing".

    I pity people trying to enable writing like this.

    tl;dr if you have to, get it for the gameplay, but expect to suffer through lots and lots of bad dialogue and contrived drama that often makes no sense just to play the game.    … Expand

    The first game is one of the best games ever made. This game has no reason to exist, hence it is 1/10. I have never felt more betrayed in my life. Characters are treated so poorly, I thought this was star wars the last jedi part 2. Deeply saddened by what became of this series. Alas, this game does no exist to me

    Thanks ND, you managed to make me hate on of my most beloved franchises and is not only because of Joel but because the whole **** the campaign was and how it looks like it was written by a pre teen cringey story. Oh and good job metacritict removing bad reviews, however the damage is already done and everybody that has better thing to waste is money on will not buy this cashgrab.

    Golf scene make the game lose purpose and once you find it. No likeable character or development like at all. This is like a bad Netflix show not a video game. I will pretend this is a Canon and story ended 7 years ago.

So many cool things happened, even though it was so much different. The game was fresh and felt new to play. The first game is one of my favorite games and I've gone through the entire thing quite a few times. Although I didn't agree with some things in this title, it's still a good game. When you compare it to the first game, people can get mad because this is not as good of a game when it comes to writing. Just because it isn't as good as the first doesn't mean it a bad game. There's not so much to tell about them. Second part of the game has very good gameplay, but dumb decisions, that are not logical and don't influence me as a gamer. Ending was also disappointing. I might know, what Neil wanted to say, but in comparison of first game, he fails to deliver. I nearly had some facepalms during the game.

    So should you play it? Yes, it's a good game. But if you are a fan of first part be careful - it might get you upset unfortunately. I put 7 for such game from Naughty Day - never thought this happening.    … Expand

    To be blunt, the biggest problem with this soap opera, I mean video game is it is comically boring. If this game was less then 20 hours, I don't think I would have as much of a problem with it, but this thing drags on way to long. Most people seem to hate the story, and while I personally despise the dialogue, I don't really care that much. I enjoyed the first TLOUP, but wasn't in love with it like some people, so I guess I didn't care as much about the characters or story in this game, or because I was in a near catatonic state by the final act of the game, haven't really figured out which one yet. I will say, one of things I noticed with the story was that it felt out of order, like they had all the major story moments in a file somewhere and accidently scrambled them.     This game had the potential to be a 10/10, but, sadly, the story is badly written and poorly executed. I like the ideas behind the game and everything appart from the story is 10/10. Maybe if they did some ajustements to the passing and cut some sections, the game could hit a 9 or 10. Little bit sad to know that this game could have been so much more. Still had fun for the most part.

    Good picture on old 2016 hardware. Disgusting plot. Drama in the original Last of Us pinched my heart, I bought PS3 for it, bought PS4 to play again remastered original game years after. But "Part II" is a totally garbage and waist my time. Is that all you can do now Naughty Dog? Pfff.

The execution was as lazy as it can get. What changed after 7 years of waiting? Nothing. Gameplay is a copy and paste from the first one, the only thing thats changed are the graphics, which look amazing of course but thats about it. You play the whole game thinking you might be getting some revenge but no, the game just..ends. You do all that chasing & killing for no reason at all. It’s okay for Abby to get revenge but not for Ellie? The game just reeks of lazy writing & uses some manipulative ways to make you like Abbys character & justify what she does. The first game was one of the few games that I played for 6+ hours straight the first time I started it because everything made sense, the story felt real, the writing felt natural & not manipulative. You felt like you were part of that world & couldn’t wait to see whats next. TLOU2 on the other hand, I just wanted it to end so I can return the disc & buy something else instead. Dull, lazy, uninspiring & I wouldn’t recommend paying more than $20 for this useless cash grab. We all know that the only reason TLOU 2 sold millions is because of TLOU 1. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t have an issue with anyone dying. I have an issue with HOW they died. If it was executed properly & with some thought, it would make sense but it doesn’t. This formula has been done a thousand times before, “Lets kill off this character & start a revenge path which leads to nowhere”.… Expand

Objectively this game is a masterwork visually and audibly, and is a true testament to the ability of a studio that's dedicated to the highest of quality standards. Yet I am reluctant to say so in regards to the story. I do not believe it was poorly written nor do I think it was the mess so many other players claim it to be. It isn't as tightly structured as the last game bouncing from one person's perspective to another's rather quickly and also from one timeline to another just as fast. This is what makes its pacing a bit jumbled to some. I was able to follow right along with what I believe the author intended it to be, I'm just not that big a fan of the directions it took. There was clearly an agenda underneath the narrative that at times shines more brightly than at others. Which is fine that is the writers right to do so, I'm just not on board with it as much as they are. I do agree with those who say that certain characters acted out of their normal character like when Tommy and Joel went back to the lodge with Abby and began telling certain details to people they had no knowledge of. That was stupid plain and simple. And the way in which Joel died was shocking for shocks sake and very generic if you ask me. It could have been done far better. But the gameplay was solid and fun as hell and my god this world is so amazingly built it almost defies belief! I enjoyed the game thoroughly but was still a little disappointed with the way certain things turned out. I felt like the point was to paint Abby as the righteous new lead and Joel as the villain. And Ellie wasnt at all who she seemed to be in the first game. It's almost like they wanted to erase your love for the 1st characters to replace it with...? What? I'm not sure. But I would def recommend this game to anyone who like naughty dog games. It was a blast to play I just didn't get as emotionally invested like I did with the 1st one.
