    I really loved the game
    But nevertheless it’s a controversial game and it all boils down to how you can relate to the characters if you do it will be one of the best games you have ever played if not you will probably hate it a lot.

    Seriously living up to my expectations took about 34 hours to playthrough. I liked the story a lot. Ellie is a badass. Idk why people are giving bad reviews. Absolutely awesome graphics. The combat is brutal. Great job Naughtydog!!!     Parto col dire che non capisco le motivazioni di tutte queste recensioni negative totalmente ingiustificate dal mio punto di vista. Il gioco è semplicemente un capolavoro. Eccellente sotto tutti i punti di vista. L’aspetto tecnico è encomiabile, dalla grafica alle animazioni, passando per la colonna sonora e la direzione artistica. Il gameplay non è altro che una versione evoluta di quello del capitolo precedente, molto più divertente e vario. La trama, per quanto semplice sia, è narrata in modo impressionante, attraverso cutscene di pregevolissima fattura e personaggi dotati di un’umanità tangibile e molto realistica. La narrazione offre mille spunti di riflessione e si presta ad analisi e speculazioni; inoltre, la storia di Ellie (e non solo), porta a riflettere e mettere in discussione non solo il mondo in cui vivono i personaggi, ma anche la nostra società e alcuni tra i valori che negli ultimi anni stanno scomparendo. Super consigliato a tutti. P.S. A tutti quelli che scrivono recensioni negative, evidentemente siete talmente stupidi e superficiali da non riuscire nemmeno a capire quanto la trama sia matura e quanto il gioco si discosti dalla massa.     The story needs to be understood.     The story needs to be understood. You need to pay attention to the sequence of events so you can appreciate the brilliance of the storytelling for this game.

    I want to replay it again but the story hits me hard, that I need to cope with this feeling for days before I will do my second playthrough. I already have beaten the game in survivor though.

    The story is soul-crushing, it cuts deep. You will wish you have taken this action instead of that because, in the blink of an eye, that opportunity could be lost.

    This game is mainly about Ellie's relationship with Joel. Secondly, this game is all about the act of "that" that every person has.

    If you play the game, you will understand why Ellie is eager to seek revenge despite what happened that night prior to Joel's death (this is on the last minutes of the game).

    The ending is more bittersweet than the first one that I really wish there will be a part 3. I feel how Ellie feels right now.

    Attack dogs
    Enemies improved a lot compared to the first game, they will try to get behind your back.
    Stalkers fully realized in this game, I've never seen a stalker on the first game.
    I like how they added hand to hand combat. I wish they will improve this on the next one "hopefully"
    Graphics - do I need to say more?

    [Bad]
    I encounter a bug in the aquarium after I fell from the vent.
    Abby's movement feels clunky sometimes, sometimes it will cause your death.
    The weapon slotting is quite confusing

    I'm glad that I never turned my back on this game despite all the bad impressions it got over the last couple of months. I hold my trust to Naughty Dog and they never failed to impress me yet.

    This game will break your heart for a few times, but you will love this moments after all. After complicated story of TLOU2, first game looks so simple, but still good at all. There are some minuses in this game, but its script covers everything. From the beginning where we see Joel die to reliving both positive and negative flashbacks with him, I couldn't have imagined it could be any better. Of course I am upset that my main man is dead. However, I applaud Naughty Dog for doing this. The story    I CANNOT UNDERSTAND THE NEGATIVE RECEPTION OF THIS GAME.

    I am a bit over halfway through (I think) and The Last of US Part 2 is the best game I have ever played. I feel that nostalgic people were wanting to just replay a new improved version of the first game and don't like the shocking new direction Part 2 has taken the story. However, I applaud Naughty Dog for doing this. The story has been a massive surprise for me as I strictly avoided any leaks or spoilers before playing the game.

    I actually love how dark and bleak the world and the story line are. People really need to appreciate that the game is set is a post-apocalyptic world full of infected/fungus-zombies, which has continued to spiral into chaos since the infection began. Desperate human beings are committing horrendous acts in this desperate fight for survival. I played this game knowing full well that this is the context. I didn't play this game so it can make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I still support, empathize and care about Ellie and feel that given what has happened, everything she has done has been justified. I also feel that trying make the game overly positive or reducing the level of violence would just feel like a shame and would almost insult how horrific the world these characters are living in really is. The violence and the darkness make it all feel that much more real. Having said that, there are indeed many beautiful moments where life still has value, human decency can shine and the love the characters have for one another is clear.

    The story itself is very entertaining, dynamic, and unpredictable. I feel that Ellie is still the same old Ellie and the acting and character development is just as good as the first game.

    I am been so invested and on the edge of my seat since the first minute I started playing. I am just as attached to the characters in this game as I was while playing the Last of Us. I feel their pain and desperation. I feel so vulnerable while playing and every kill of both human and infected feels significant and like a real accomplishment contributing to my fight for survival.

    The game play is incredible, they have taken the Last of Us and pushed the PS4 to the limit. It is more challenging than the first game and the AI seem more lifelike and are more difficult. The fighting feels so real and intense and takes strategy and careful planning. I can't over emphasize the satisfaction that comes from setting up an explosive to have someone trigger it while you watch their limbs been blow off as they scream, or blasting off the leg of an infected person with a shotgun and watching them drag themselves around on their arms. Its full on and so much fun.

    The world is also incredibly beautiful, deep, and immersive. There are so many little hidden places and challenges throughout the game which you could easily overlook, and it just makes it feel that much more like your own special story. Combat scenes can take place over entire avenues, involving multiple buildings which you can be running in and out of. Combat can also involve the interaction of both human and infected AI which can end up killing one another while you remain hidden (if you help to instigate their combat). The graphics and attention to detail is incredible from start to finish. Wait until you smash open a vending machine or display cabinet while searching for supplies.

    From what I can see however, every person who hates this game has an issue with the story and not with the world, graphics, game play ect. I can’t give my complete opinion of the game until I finish it, but currently, this is the most I have ever enjoyed a video game and that is saying a lot. I think the critical praise of this game is spot on. I feel that most people are upset because they are so attached to the first game and its characters and just want an obvious continuation with the same vibe. Had the first game never existed, none of these people would be complaining. I also think that anyone who can't handle two girls kissing in this game needs to go and get F#*K*D.    … Expand

Playing with her to fully understand her character. In the game she takes on the task of taking care of the 2 scars. Her doing this gives her another shot at forgiveness. In a game thats all about revenge, forgiveness is also the main theme. In the end ellie learns to forgive abby for what she did even if it was so fuccin hard. Abby learned to forgive when she was with the two scars, thats why when she was about to kill dina and ellie lev was there to remind abby about forgiveness. Joel was ellies reminder about forgiveness for hence the flashback ellie has when she plays the guitar back home. The game also teaches us in a way to forgive, to forgive abby for what shes done. The game challenges you with that task, to forgive even if its hard enough. This game is amazing in my opinion and if you really think the game is got bad then ig it is in your opinion. Just try to look at things through a different perspective.… Expand

    I don't care what anyone says, I loved this game. There were a few bits that were upsetting but they were played out that way to make the story go towards the theme of the game, I personally recommend it but some people don't always feel the same way unfortunately :(

    Un gran juego, justo acabo de terminarlo es complicado de entender todo lo que nos quieren contar. La jugabilidad es hermosa, al principio te sientes como un tonto jugando por lo que cambia de otros juegos, pero con el tiempo agarras ritmo, el sonido es impecable y la historia se necesita ver más de una vez.     Well, I ended up finishing The last of us part ii and I was amazed by everything I saw. The setting is incredible, something never seen before, the graphics and the voice acting, so don't even mention it, mix it with an improved gameplay and a great soundtrack like that. as the first game and ready you have a work of art.
    Regarding the story in this way as the first had moments that moved    Well, I ended up finishing The last of us part ii and I was amazed by everything I saw. The setting is incredible, something never seen before, the graphics and the voice acting, so don't even mention it, mix it with an improved gameplay and a great soundtrack like that. as the first game and ready you have a work of art.
    Regarding the story in this way as the first had moments that moved me a lot as a fan these were repeated here in many parts. Perceptual moments of maturing of the characters very well written by their screenwriters, aspects that make the game shine. The narrative ended up being stretch a few times and show other views of the characters in the plot which didn’t bother me but I have in mind that it can bother other fans. Well the most interesting is the message that the game wants to send us with all the questions imposed by the director on the plot, had points I didn't like as a fan in the story yes, but overall The last of us ii is incredible and I recommend it.    … Expand

    Honestly not sure where the hates coming from. Just beat the game and loved it so much more then the first. The action animations were many and flawless. The audio was amazing, the options settings accessibility was by far the most complex of any game ive ever seen. The graphics on my ps4 pro were gorgeous, the story was tense and dark.     this game is an emotional rollercoaster.. it continues 5 years after where part 1 ended. The graphics are 10/10. The way the enemy behaves is 10/10. The tiniest details have been worked on.

    This game is an excellent continuation of TLOU. The story seems shallow at first glance until you realize that the collectibles in game have been given a much more important role than previously. Instead of having the story spoon fed to you in cut scenes, it rewards careful and deliberate exploration with meaningful interactions, dialogue, and even Ellie's internal monologue in the form of journal entries. The story has a lot of interesting parallels to the first game that get more fascinating the longer you dwell on them.

It’s not that they’re poorly written, I’m just uninterested in her life and finding out her backstory does not give me any remorse for her. It’s a sad world and bad things happen to good people. Although I do understand why she would be so upset, it doesn’t make me want to brutalize her and her friends any less. I don’t want to play as the villain who’s done such brutal things to characters that I love. I think some people are upset cause you play as a play lesbian. I don’t think everyone who dislikes the game is homophobic, I just think that if it were a man and a woman no one would bat an eye at it. I hear a lot of people saying things like , “I don’t mind that they’re lesbian I just don’t like that a gaming platform is being used for politics. “. To me that means that deep down you don’t like that they’re lesbian even if you don’t want to admit it. I’m also seeing people saying that this game is too dark. In the first game your daughter gets murdered in your arms, you almost get eaten by cannibals, and you doom the human race. I think people just aren’t used to see the characters they love die in such brutal ways and I agree it was awful. That’s what makes the game so compelling.     Upon downloading The Last Of Us 2, and preparing my PS4 hard drive for a 100GB haul, I couldn't help but notice all the poor user reviews, shortly after the game had released. I thought The Last Of Us 2 was being judged too early or judged wrongfully. I have played the entire campaign, searched for all possible extra dialogue, and cinematic moments. I hereby present you with my review of The Last Of Us 2.

    I will be evaluating the game based on the core elements of a presentation. Beginning with visuals, soundtrack, environmental sounds, minuscule details, gameplay, ending with an emotional reaction.

    Visuals: If we are judging The Last Of Us 2's visual presentation off of the previous entry, the lengths and bounds Naughty Dog stretched this game had my PS4 cranking out heat like an oven. The Last Of Us 2 pushed the PS4 to its absolute limits, given its 30FPS gameplay, even at a 1080P resolution. Furthermore, if we are drawing comparisons between modern triple-A titles, The Last Of Us is up to par with modern titles in terms of visual fidelity. The grand change I noticed was the world's foliage, and lighting system. Naughty Dog truly implemented a realistic lighting tone, with impeccable volumetric lighting, stable darks in lightless areas, and pure god rays to look at, as I was admiring the game's densely forested areas. Gameworld design I personally believe falls into the visual department, as it directly affects the way the player interacts with the environment, however from a gameplay perspective, it is easily as formidable; I will touch on that in the gameplay section. However, the new ways of exploring, and maneuvering about in the game world have kept some core components, yet in addition added new elements of discovery, by borrowing them from other Naughty Dog titles, Uncharted for example.

    Soundtrack: The soundtrack, in my opinion, was one of the main selling points for the original Last Of Us, Naughty Dog kept that in mind. the emotional, yet intense gameworld is invigorating with a complimentary soundtrack to assist in the delivery. Whether a subtly guitar is playing while you stride along an overgrown road, or the mad violin, and deep bass when engaging in a firefight, it captures your attention with ease. I found myself just stopping when traveling across this incredibly dense game world, to a simple look, and listen to what was in front of me.

    Environmental Sounds: I made the executive decision to separate soundtrack with etc sounds present within the game world, and for good reason, I might add. I was playing The Last Of Us 2 on a 75' 1080P TV, with a 5.2 system. The Last Of Us 2 is beautifully optimized for audio density, as holds true with its audio options for a deeper configuration. Furthermore, while traversing within the world, I found myself stopping frequently, to listen around me. Whether it was a bush whistling with the wind, a word building creaking with every step I took, or the horrifying clicking sound from behind, the sounds kept me engaged with what was going on within that time, yet caused me to get lost in my own amusement.

    Minuscule Details: I could see how this point could come off gimmicky, however for players who stop to appreciate the smallest of touches a developer cared enough to implement, this might be for you. I am a sucker for a tiny detail, whether it is how the grass realistically reacts to the wind direction, how Abby's ponytail changes the shoulder it folds over depending on her momentum and direction, or how stagnant puddles of water simulate a real-time reflection, relative to the way the player looks at the puddle; The Last Of Us 2 hands players these small, yet rememberable details in spades.

    Gameplay: Ah, gameplay. This is where Naughty Dog was wise with their executive decision about combat. Some sequel games attempt to alleviate the monotony of past games with all new combat, completely doing a 180 on past players. The Last Of Us 2 retains the prior games combat style, yet subtly implements new areas that feel organic, and natural to how Ellie would traverse an environment. The addition of new weapons, crafting recipes, upgrade paths, and foes to face; The Last Of Us 2 is a better version of the previous game Naughty Dog provided us.

    Emotional Reaction: This section will purely be my personal reaction to The Last Of Us 2 as a whole. To, attempt to summarize my emotions towards this game, I can not put it in few words, or words at all for that matter. Ones who had the privilege of playing the first game, we all remember how emotionally attached we were to Joel, and Ellie on their journey to save the lives of all. Naughty Dog left an impact on the world with their masterpiece of a game.    … Expand

    So sad a lot ot stupid people are trash-talking the game without even playing it... i've just played and, for me, this is the most spectactular game of all times. Really, the complexity of the game makes it even better than the first one.
    If you consider yourself a decent guy/girl, just play the game and you WILL love it. Trust me. Just keep and open mind (a.k.a. don't me a moron).

    Best game of all the time... I do not understand at all who puts 0-6 to this masterpiece. Gameplay is incredibly funny and the story for my opinion is more emocional than the first The Last Of Us... and I finish that 7 times. Thank you Naughty Dog for this incredible journey! I can't wait for The Last Of Us Part 3!

    User reviews only speak of Joel's death, of the wet dreams they may have had with the character, it's always the same. But nobody asks: What is beyond this event? Why it happened? He deserved it? What happens next? What will these characters feel about that event?
    Yes, it was horrible that he died, and he had a pathetic death, but it is the cause and effect of the acts of the "crazy man". It was a death that no one expects from the best character ever written. He deserved a better death, but in the reality of this game it is not.

    This game more than entertain us, it destroys us. It leaves us with an existential void that consumes you and kills you.
    It is a crude game, and cruel and it is in every right to be. It's The Last Of Us!

    If you are looking to leave with a good taste in your mouth, go play fortnite or minecraft. They are fast, frantic games, and you don't need to think beyond their mechanics and kill without questioning the lives of others.
    The Last Of Us more than a game, it is an experience. It is Ellie's evolution and the consequence of her actions. Not everything is Joel. That does not mean that he is an excellent character.

    The world is so used to everything being rosy and that everything turns out as they want, that they are blinded by it and do not see what the human being (in this game or in real life) is capable of.

    This game is great! And it does not deserve the injustice of these empty criticisms that for a fact destroy how great this game is.
    Okay, playing like Abby is maddening, maybe boring at times (No one wants to play like the villain) .. (Ah! But wasn't Joel exactly that in the previous game? ... A Villain?). Just think about it a little.

    Leaving Joel's event behind (which sets fanboys on fire), the endgame leaves much to think about.
    What Ellie did can drive anyone crazy. Would you be able to do what she did without losing your sanity?

    My mother taught me that forgiving is the most difficult honest act to perform in the world. But that is what nobody assumes: Assume when we are wrong.
    More than revenge, this game is about forgiveness.
    And so Ellie deserves more and my respects.

    Great game.

    If you are sensitive-minded, don't buy the game. But it is an experience that has to be lived.

    100% recommendable.

    Writing this review I realized all the sensations that the game makes you feel in greater depth. Very nice job to NaughtyDog.

    Everyone has their tastes, but for God's sake, be fair with your criticism and say why you don't like it with respect.

It did not have the hope/grief rollercoaster of the first game. It just made me feel dull and empty and profoundly sad at the end. But that was the point right? Vengeance is a terribly bad idea, yet completely understandable and supportable. Cycle of violence and whatnot. Revenge is how worlds go to **** Message received naughty dog.     It is a good game, although it has its parts in the story that I did not like at all, apart from that the game is impressive and made me re-feel what I felt with part 1, obviously part 2 is not as good as 1, but it still makes me a very good game that deserves all praise

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.

    If you loved the original for its great characters and well-paced story – stay away from this game. However, if you’re aching to sink into the depths of depression, or just want to cut some throats and burn some zombies – Part II will deliver. [Issue#247, p.72]
