Joel was never a good person, he was always somewhat despicable, yet he loved and protected those close to him. To the Fireflies, Joel was a heartless villain. And this game aims to address that. You spend the first half of the game despising Abby and her friends for killing Joel and then you go on a killing spree as Ellie, slaughtering these people you see as monsters. In the second half, you play from the other perspective, and come to love the characters you spent the first half of the game murdering. They are good people who do bad things, just as Ellie is a good person who does bad things. Both Ellie and Abby are out for vengeance over the death of a loved one. Both of them are simultaneously wrong and right all at the same time. The game forces you to come to grips with the fact that the NPCS in video games that you kill in cold blood, have people who love them. And to them YOU are the bad guy. It's a lot to handle, and I can't think of another example where it has been done before. There are no bad guys, there are no good guys; it's all a matter of perspective.… Expand

    Masterpiece. Nothing short of the word. Completed the game last night and have been pondering ever since. This game makes you think about actions and consequences. It's unlike any game I've ever played. Smart story with brilliant character moments. Worthy follow-up to my favorite game ever.

    realmente uno de los mejores juegos para despedir esta generación de consolas, si aun no has comprado el juego, no te dejes llevar por las criticas puesto que la historia aunque no supera a la de la primera parte no se queda atrás, siendo mejor que muchos títulos AAA de la actualidad y una muy buena jugabilidad sin mencionar lo bueno que son sus gráficos. RECOMENDADO

The story was amazing and it has a lot of potential to continue in this same universal with the characters Abby and Lev, they could have a relationship grow the same way Joel and Ellie had in the series so far. I do think last of us part 2 was unbelievable with the combat and graphics so that doesn't need to be said any further. I do believe Ellie and Tommy will be in the next last of us, based off what we saw at the end.… Expand

Starting with shock, pain, sadness, that slowly evolves to disgust. And in the final I'm feeling emotionally empty, every flashback, every scene with Joel hurts Elly and I'm feeling it too.     I love the fact that the game, Naughty Dog, specifically, choose two lesbian protagonists that hardly ever never featured in most AAA games. Kudos to ND for doing what’s right. The gameplay is cleaner than Part 1. I can’t wait for multiplayer. I love both games, but this recent installment makes me love it even more.     I thought there game was fantastic, and while I understand a few of the plot points might have been upsetting for some people, the story was exceptionally well told. Each of the points that have engendered such controversy were well earned and meticulously set up in the first game.

    While I do think players complaining about how this game is more like a movie than a game have a point, because it is, it would be equally as valid to complain that it's not an arcade style game like pac-man. This is a narrative game. It is sorry driven, and if that's not your cup of tea, then this game may not be for you.

    Honestly, though, after having played the game, I came away feeling like most of the critics are simply offended by the diverse cast of characters, and their complaints say more about their bigotry than they do about the game.

Ignore the review bombers, it's an amazing stealth/action/horror game with top class production values and presentation, unparalleled gameplay, and amazing story. Naughty Dog improved every aspect of the first game to some unreal levels, and if grim dramas are your cup of tea, this is a game for years to come.

    There is definitely wokeness to the story, but its presented in a tasteful and unforced manner, really, and it largely gets lost in everything else, it's a huge game that has logical places for all its elements. It absolutely doesn't not dilute the overall impression TLOU2 makes. As of controversial Abby, she is a great character in her own right, and unlike the neckbeards would have you believe, she isn't transgender.

    Do yourself a favour and play TLOU2, it's worth every minute.    … Expand

    I've rarely been affected this much by a game. It's an artistic achievement beyond anything that has been done before now in a video game. It'll make you happy, it'll make you angry (some people are so angry by the content of the game that they've stopped playing it!). I cannot stress how incredibly important this game is for the gaming industry as a whole, but for entertainment in general.

    Firstly, ignore the bad reviews. If you liked the first one, you'll love this one. A finely crafted immersive masterpiece that gave me exactly what I wanted and surprised me with things I didn't know I wanted. I can't praise it enough, simply spectacular.

    The story is very good, but if you can't get past THAT moment, you'll never understand it. Many people expected something else and when they got this their brain just went *puff*

    Listen to me, the game is good. I'm giving 10/10 only because i think it's unfair from us to take down a big work that took them 5 years to develop. It's not as good as the first, but i honestly think it's an amazing game, but you can fully enjoy it only if you played the predecessor.

    Btw about the gameplay: yes it's like 7 years ago plus some little new features... yeah, so is that bad? what you expected? a change like GTA from 2D to 3D? Guys, the gameplay of a sequel 99% of the times is the same as the previous game, it's logical. The new characters are good (not everyone is good as the older ones, but to be fair, even in the first one we had 2 elite characters and all the others were just good or average, nothing that good)

El juego es espectacular, acabo de terminarlo y luego por fin me puse a leer todas esas críticas negativas y la verdad es que no les encuentro sentido, veo mucha gente quejándose de la muerte de Joel, pero era algo obvio, Joel iba a morir en este juego de una u otra forma y hacerlo de esa manera tan cruda y tan real le da al juego un inicio increíble cuando pase por ese momento sentí cosas que jamás había sentido en un videojuego. Un odio que salió en forma de grito hacia un personaje, una tristeza que se sentía como si alguien muy cercano a mi hubiera sido el que murió y un dolor que duró por varias horas, segui jugando en estado de shock por unos cuantos minutos... En general la historia es excelente, pero si, estoy de acuerdo en que la de la primera parte es mejor pero eso no quita que este juego es un juego de 10, el gameplay, la ambientación, todo es excelente. Si alguien lee esto, no se deje llevar por todos esos 0,es una vergüenza que estén calificando así a un juego tan bueno, pero bueno, estoy convencido de que poco a poco ira subiendo el rating, una vez que gente que de verdad jugó y terminó el juego comience a calificarlo.… Expand

The graphics are stunning, what a lot of beautiful places to visit. And the gameplay is an upgraded version of the first one, which makes total sense.

En cuanto al gamepley me asombra el cuidado de los detalles que han tenido con el juego para el realismo en las peleas, las brutales ejecuciones, lo bien que funcionan las armas y la agilidad con la que cuenta Ellie a diferencia de la que tenia Joel en la primera parte, con respecto a los gráficos el juego se ve espectacular, los paisajes, los colores y ese toque de semi mundo abierto en parte del juego que se agradece para ver cómo evoluciona poco a poco el juego, entregando nuevas mecánicas sin desviarse de la esencia del juego. Mi valoración final es que este juego es una genialidad por todos los ángulos que se vean, un excelente trabajo por parte del equipo de Naughty Dog y sobre todo a Neil Druckmann que nos regaló este glorioso juego que será referente para próximas entregas del género.… Expand

    Last of us part 2 is a significant improvement on the first game in every aspect technologically. It is the peak of playstation 4 gaming, and we are unlikely to see something so visually impressive before the ps5.
    The story is much more complexed from the first, and is incredibly heartbreaking. Be that as it may, I still enjoyed the hell out of the game, and consider it to be one of the    Last of us part 2 is a significant improvement on the first game in every aspect technologically. I cannot describe all the emotions that this game made me feel. The story had a drastic change compared to the first game, and many are criticizing this point, but, I believe that those who are giving this hate to the game, have not even finished the story. It's the best game of the generation, and the biggest release from Sony. Thank you NaughtyDog, for that masterpiece.

    Lo amo. Creo que la industria tiene mucho que aprender de este juego. La calidad gráfica, Sonora, ludonarrativa... y el respeto a la diversidad. Fue increíble sentir tanta representación en un juego. Es increíble ahora dimensionar cuanto hace falta sentirse así. Cómo le agrega profundidad y sentido de pertenencia el ver a alguien que está atravesando lo mismo . En fin, creo que por acá esLo amo. Creo que la industria tiene mucho que aprender de este juego. Its about her losing Joel thus losing herself (just like the song Future days). And if your review bombing it well I got no words for you. This game is about forgiveness, Ellie forgiving Joel for what he did and the player forgiving Abby for what she did, that my interpretation anyways. If you cant forgive you wont like this game, doesn't mean it deserves review bombing...… Expand

This is a story about an apotalitic world where rules do not exist, ellie and Joel are two persons in the middle of these and they are exposed to all the dangers as much as other person in this world. I actually played the game and I really didn't like to play with Abby half of the game, less hours with her would be great, but it's good to see other views, life styles and the communities that exist in this world, and I think that is only possible playing with a character completely different. This game is about that world and not just Joel and ellie. Don't hate this game just because it's different to what we expected and give a chance.

Oh let's kill the bad guy at the end because that's what everyone does and will make people happy. The games' story to make you feel for the so-called villain is amazing by itself. You start to realize that Ellie and Abby are the same parallel characters trying to avenge the death of someone they love. The fact that Naughty Dog forces you to play as Abby to add that layer of sympathy for her once you see why she is doing what she's doing is amazing. People need to get over Joel's death JOEL and I repeat JOEL WAS NEVER THE MAIN CHARACTER OF THIS GAME!!!!! If you thought that then I'm sorry for you all the official trailers show this game was an Ellie game, not a Joel game. People just want the same rinse and repeat good guy wins by killing a bad guy but I'm glad Naughty Dog went that route shows more to do so and gives you more emotion and makes you think. I guess 2020 people don't want to put their own aspect on things. Thank you Naughty Dog for one of the best games if not best game I ever played.… Expand

    Even better than the first one. Bigger, more complex and closer to perfection than any other game that i played before. Can’t wait to start a second play trough. Story is simply a masterpiece and gameplay is a dream come true for fans of stealth and action. First Tlou started it but the second one achieved a cinematic stealth/action gameplay perfection. Unbelievable animations, graphicsEven better than the first one. Bigger, more complex and closer to perfection than any other game that i played before. Can’t wait to start a second play trough.     Masterpiece. I tend to agree that there a lot of female characters and it was difficult for me to associate myself with them. No matter, I spent 26 hours with no stops and it was immersive as hell. Art design is insane. I would prefer to see those games instead of fortnite-like, but sadly, other rewievers, who give this game 0-5 score, probably want to see only fortnite in future.

    Wanted to give a 8 but gave a 10 because of all of the fake negative scores. The gameplay, was truly impressive and I'm really satisfied with all of the mechanics. And TLoU II achieved that while remained loyal to the original game.
    But why a 8? In my opinion, the end of the story was a bit too long. Every time you expect the game to get near its end, just    Just finished the game.

The writers had a lot of things to say, and I understand that. But it's the art of the director to shave the story, and sort the story parts in a way, that everything ends in a climaxing way. Like what happened with the promise at the end of the TLoU. This kind of ending, was what TLoU II was really missing.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. As to be expected from Naughtydog this game is absolutely gorgeous graphically and environmentally. I wont spend a lot of time talking about this because I dont think anyone could doubt this aspect of a naughty dog game. Although none of this games relationships shine near as bright as Joel and Ellie's in the first one, I find their are just too many positive moments for that alone to ruin the experience. At first I was not excited to play such a large portion of the game as Abby, the absolute unit of an antoganist. After a while of assuming her existence as being pure evil, I began to realize her motivations were just as justified as any of Joel and Ellie's. This game took the conflict you felt when pulling the trigger that killed the doctor in the original game and spread it out through an entire campaign. I think the reason so many negative reviews are coming out is because of an emotional bias to Joel and Ellie and having to truly accept that the strength of their relationship does not truly justify all of their actions. By the end of Abbys portion of the game, i was attatched to the pure badassery of her being but not completely sold on her as person. Although I wasnt sold on her as i person I was sold on her motivation and ready to fight for what she was fighting for. Between scenes of disturbing moral imperative the game slips in flashbacks, that do a wonderful job of bringing you back down to the root of what you are doing and why you are truly doing it. Between each of these cut scenes the game delivers a beautifully refined amount of gameplay. The gameplay itself is beyond enjoyable and is crafted in a way that allows you to create your own experience. Each segment of gameplay felt like a cinematic experience in its own rights. It was a huge improvement from the first game in this regard. Another thing this game did better then the original was create absolutely remarkable, adrenaline inducing expriences both in cutscene and beautifully crafted cinematic gameplay. Not to say the original didnt have these experiences but part 2 just delivered it in a way that truly had my heart racing. Every single time i felt like I might not be able to continue, the game delivered a perfectly timed cut scene and although I never knew what point in time or what character the cut scene was going to bring me to, it always did an amazing job of grounding me and giving me the motivation to keep moving forward. This game is Dark, chaotic, repulsive, beautiful and capsulating. It delivers an experience that rivals the excitement and sentiment of the first one and after finishing my first play through I am ready to jump right in to my second.     First off realise that PO'd fanboys are posting the same 0-3 reviews multiple times when it's clear that some of them haven't even played the game or don't know what actually happens. Also it's a game and even if you don't like the story the gameplay is amazing. TLOUP2 is an immensly dense game both in gameplay and story. Also it's a game and even if you don't like the story the gameplay is amazing. TLOUP2 is an immensly dense game both in gameplay and story. The story is much more grand in scale comparitively to the first game which told a relatively simple story. This story examines the importance of those choices made in the first game and further examines the impact of a post apocalyptic world where murder and brutality is needed in order to survive. Here the story not only focuses on 2 individuals but looks at how these choices and circumstances effect everyone around our main characters. It's by far the most ambitious and satisfying game I've ever played. Now, some people obviously don't like the game and from what I've noticed is that people don't like it for one of two reasons: A. They feel the game Is pushing some sort of political agenda on them that they don't agree with. B. They're expectations of what the story should be do not match what the story actually is. Realize that this story does include LGBTQ characters, if you don't like that then this game probably isn't for you. I don't feel as though they were pushing an agenda these characters are there and they exist but there's not some grand message as far as they're orientations are concerned. They just are. Also Ellie liked girls in the first game so that shouldn't be a surprise re: Left Behind. Accept that what you want for the characters, and choices that you want to make are not what's going to happen because you are not them and they are not you. Drop all expectations of what the story will be and just let it happen and take in what it has to offer. These characters are not the same as the first game. 4 years have passed. They've changed, they've grown and they're going through something new. I loved this game. Is it the story I would've told? Probably not, but the story I would've told probably would've been boring and predictable. I appreciate that everytime I thought I knew what was going to happen next I was wrong. The characters made some choices I liked and they made some I didn't like but we're different people and we've been through different **** and we feel different things. Lastly it's just a game lol. Some people are acting as if their life is over.… Expand

Not everyone will like this game and I can see and understand why, it’s way different from the first one but I also feel like people don’t give it a chance and they don’t even play it, they just hear the leaks. There is so much more to this game and the reason people hate on it is because of Joel’s death which yes was extremely sad but it doesn’t make the game bad. The game isn’t supposed to be a happy game it’s supposed to be a sad and unsettling game and it’s really good at making you feel that. You can feel and see the pain in Ellie as you go through Seattle looking for Abby and the rest of the WLF. Yes Abby is a **** but besides that I have no complaints about this game, and even though it was wrong you can’t blame Abby to much because as much as I love Joel and was sad to see him go the way he did he did kill her father and hurt the rest of the world to save Ellie so Abby feels that pain too. Anyways the improvement on everything in this game from the first one is amazing. Just because Joel died the way he died doesn’t mean the game is bad! 10/10! An emotional Masterpiece!… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Last of Us Part II is a monumental landmark in video game achievement. While many people dismiss the story as not living up to the expectations of the first due to choices made with specific characters, Naughty Dog have constructed a narrative that explores the harshness of the world created in Part I. Every choice has a consequence, a theme which rings true throughout the entirety of the 35+ hour quest.

    The story beats are not predictable, allowing the audience to continually be exposed to the cast of characters and the world they live in, making characters who commit horrendous acts to be deserving of a sympathetic response.

    The gameplay is fantastic, a natural evolution from Naughty dogs previous top tier games. The different enemy types allow for tense encounters and rely on the audience's constant ability to adapt on the fly.

    While the ending and the choices made by Ellie were different to how many audiences may have liked to see her journey unfold, the truth is the ending gives perspective to her actions and the ending stings in the best way possible. As with the first game, the entire game is going to be a conversation starter that will hopefully force people to think outside of their own comfort zone.    … Expand
