Honestly i don't care about the kids who vote 0 to games like this because they're frustrated about the death of Joel. This game is the highest point in our generation and deserve the 10, for the kids who don't understand the meaning of this game: shut up.

    * The grapich is wonderful, the details are perfect, lights and shadow are managed very well and the glance is spectacular.
    * The plot is complicated: Abby kills Joel because he killed her father, Ellie want revenge and kills a lot of Abby friends, so Abby search for revenge (again) and the story takes this way.
    * The charact design is excellent.
    * The gameplay is good and varied.

    The Last Of Us, the best game of our generation, is also one of the most hated games of our generation. But this is life.    … Expand

    Extremely well made game from start to finish, it is easily one of my favourite games. It has such a big emotional impact on the player, the story is gripping and very interesting until the very end. Gameplay and graphics are top notch. Simple 10/10. To all the review bombers: try to be a little bit more open minded and first finish a game before reviewing it.

    Gameplay impecável, mas esse estilo de jogo se paga é pela história, e infelizmente esse jogo peca gravemente nas decisões do diretor. Desfecho lamentável pra obra prima que foi o primeiro jogo. O começo é desagradável, mas o final conseguiu piorar de vez o que já começou errado. Uma pena. Aconselho a pegar mídia física quem estiver curioso, pelo menos dá de vender depois.

    While I can see why some smooth-brained people don't understand the story this game is trying to convey, I personally love the game. The gameplay is excellent, the upgrade mechanics for the guns and the characters are top-notch, and the story is a tragic tale told in a tragic world, just because Joel didn't go out in heroic glory for "saving" Ellie, everyone is review-bombing the game.

    If you enjoyed the first game. Avoid this at all cost. Trust me. There is NOTHING worth your time here. Everything is 10/10 in this game besides the story and characters. Those are 1/10.

    Awful story. Awful characters. Just awful writing. Neil Drunkman is a disgrace to video games

    This game is spectacular great story line and gameplay definitely one of my favourites. This game is hated by a lot of people due to part of the story line but I found the twist in the game nailed it! I hope Naughty Dog makes a last of us part 3 I love this series so far!

    I personally really love this game. Although the story is significantly worse then original: it is also just less enjoyable. The gameplay itself takes great strides in the combat and the way you can go about the world. But for the most part, it's childish behaviour, because the story isn't like what they wanted. Yes, the game is susceptible for logical issues. Although, the story isn't obviously as amazing as the first, it is waaaaay darker and scary. What set me off was the character change halfway through. What I thought was just going to be me controlling Abby as a filler for the story (like in the beginning) turned out to be half of the game. I really hated it at first because I hate this character, but it actually ended up being very enjoyable.

    I understand what people are saying that it sucks that Joel was killed off in the starting hour of the game. But, if that's the only reason you chose this game to be a 0 (which in most cases seems to be it) that's your loss.

    Don't listen to these negative reviews telling you not to play the game, don't even listen to mine telling you TO play it. If you want to play it, play it.

    It is a 10/10 for me. What excites me more is if they do it right, this story will be AWESOME in the HBO series.    … Expand

    One of the best stories I've ever had the experience to live through games. The gameplay is really smooth and fun too. Refined everything from the predecessor. Graphics are unbelievably good.

    Initially, the game was a 4/10 from me. I went into the game to give it a genuine chance and played with an open mind. Sure the choice to kill Joel in the opening hours of the game was jarring. I thought it was a perfect catalyst to offset the story and gave the right motivation for Ellie and company.

    The juxtaposition to Abby's story was stark contrast and perfect parallel to Ellie's    Initially, the game was a 4/10 from me. I went into the game to give it a genuine chance and played with an open mind. Sure the choice to kill Joel in the opening hours of the game was jarring. I thought it was a perfect catalyst to offset the story and gave the right motivation for Ellie and company.

    The juxtaposition to Abby's story was stark contrast and perfect parallel to Ellie's descent into madness. I just wasn't too impressed with some of the decisions made in the story, and some of the character moments and dialogue were weak in comparison to the original.

    Standing on its own, segments and dialogue between characters weren't as exciting and wasn't as engaging, I didn't have too much attachment to Jesse or Dina throughout the story. The new side characters introduced in Abby's section of the game were interesting and a breath of fresh air, but didn't have enough screen time to develop before certain story events happen.

    And I get the praise for graphics, but inevitably graphics are only going to improve and look better in the next few years, so I don't tend to get overly excited over graphics. But it is a pretty game.

    The gameplay is fun, but nothing crazy innovative. The map layout for each encounter keeps combat engaging and exciting at times, and the hide-and-seek type of combat is fun. As well, I do like the section of the game where it straight-up turns into resident evil.

    Overall, I respect the themes and concepts that Neil and the team at Naughty Dog worked to achieve, but I do have to knock it down a bit for its execution. The gameplay and graphics are what makes this game worth playing, but delving into a story-driven drama where the story is the weakest part of the affair does dampen the experience.    … Expand

It couldn't even be compared to the story of the first game, also Joel's relationship with Ellie is much better in the first game, more developed and deeper, but it's still a very good game, and the game's combat system is great. But bruh everyone is crying because joel dies and that's why they give the game a bad rating, and yes that scene was horrible and joel wasn't as smart as in the first game but that doesn't make the game bad, yes there are people who It justifies that the game is bad with other aspects but I have seen people who just say that the game is bad because Joel died, literally a streamer broke the disc just because Joel died.

    Es de los juegos con mejor combate, al menos de los últimos años.
    Gráficamente es precioso.
    La historia es increíble, que al fan de turno le haya molestado la muerte de Joel no quiere decir que sea mal juego.

    This could have easily been a 9/10 but the game overstays its welcome by the midpoint.
    Also, when it could have ended in a good way it once again pushes our patience to make the ending worse.

    Gameplay is the same as the original, nothing amazing but I honestly like it.
    Graphics are mind blowing, so if you like your games to look pretty, you can't complain here.

    The combat is perfectly visceral, sly, brutal, and explosive.

    Gameplay is amazing and makes you think about it after. Abby sections are manipulative but they work.

    j'ai effectivement moi-même pris énormément de plaisir à jouer à Ghost of Tsushima mais les gars, sérieux, l'histoire est effectivement bonne mais tellement classique... Même si je suis d'accord avec vous sur un certain point, le jeu n'est pas fait pour faire prendre du plaisir au joueur et je n'en ai moi-même(mis à part à certains moments) pas pris. Oui mais vous me direz :"Ouais mais qu'est-ce que c'est qu'un jeu-vidéo si on prend pas de plaisir alors que même son étymologie indique qu'on devrait en prendre…" Et bien laissez-moi vous dire que ce jeu en est la preuve, on peut ne pas prendre de plaisir alors qu'on joue à un jeu. Graphiquement c'est une dinguerie, animation faciales inégalables. En gros aussi bon sur le fond que la forme. Je vous jure à la fin j'étais devant ma télé, j'avais l'impression qu'on me plantait 10 000 couteaux dans le coeur et j'ai très mal dormi pendant 3 jours. Et surtout n'y touchez pas avant d'avoir fini le premier The last of Us et allez au bout des 2 jeux!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    The game is good in terms of gameplay (althought no changes from the 2013 one) and graphics(probs one of the best looking games), but the ppl who wrote the story completly ruined the whole last of us world and made the game painful to experience overall.

    The last of us part 2 is probably one of the most inconsistent games of all time. This game's visuals are incredible and have 10/10 voice acting. The controls and combat of the game are a huge improvement from part 1 as it is much more immersive and uses different ways to find treasures, etc. The first half of the game (before we turn to Abby) is near perfect, it has some intense momentsThe last of us part 2 is probably one of the most inconsistent games of all time. Until we get to the second half where I believe the final 3 hours should've been turned into its own last of us game because the ending feels very rushed and with a game like this, it should've been much more spread out. Also another negative about the game is that the game makes you feel miserable, watching a "beloved' character get tortured and killed or shooting dogs doesn't make you feel good and this makes another problem of the game, Pacing. One of the most important parts of a game is the pacing, and the pacing for this game is **** terrible, after watching Joel die, you then go onto a peaceful adventure looting chests and finding clues slowly, If a game had this, it wouldn't be boring most of the time, but the fact that we watched Joel die a gruesome death before, makes this game have a very weird narrative for the beginning of the game. I still do think that the stealth of this game is **** amazing and makes you feel SUPER tense while playing. overall the game had the potential to be incredible, but naughty dog being naughty dog, had to make it controversial and surprise the reader lol. Overall it's very hard to rank this game because when I think of all the amazing things of the game, I wanna give it a 9, but then when I think of the huge problems, it makes me wanna give it a lower score. Overall I do enjoy this game and the score of it doesn't matter so even though it's shown as a 10 (mainly to boost the score cause this game is much better than a 5/10) it's more of a GOOD/10 because this is Mr Morale & The Big Steppers Dialled up to 11… Expand

    It would be proof that the American video game industry is tainted by poly-college. I'm not looking for "social justice", I'm looking for a beautiful and inspiring story.
    TLOU2 has definitely tarnished the series.
    But the beautiful background design is nothing short of amazing, and It was work of greatness and ugliness, so I give it score 7. ''OK''

    Sin embargo, creo que los flashbacks rompen el ritmo de la historia un poco. Pero sin duda creo que vale la pena gastar dinero por este juego. Todo poseedor de un PS4 debe tener este juego.

    Historia mala, cogida con pinzas hecha incluso yo diria a mala leche, mecanicas buenas y gráficos increíbles, inteligencia artificial tb muy bueno pero vamos la manera de plantear el juego mala 3 horas matando gente que no sabes ni porque a veces y luego una cinematica de 10 minutos, lo que lleva a una poca empatia con los personajes, y una historia y final a lo sinsajo 2 un horror

    Problems and misunderstanding: 1. Joels death was painful to watch. You play as a character named Abby who is running away from a horde of zombies.     Problems and misunderstanding:

    1. Joels death was painful to watch. You play as a character named Abby who is running away from a horde of zombies. You are then saved by the beloved characters, Joel and Tommy. They save you on multiple occasions and eventually you bring them back to your little hide out. Now the first issue I have here is continuity with character personalities (Characteristics/traits). Joel and Tommy are known to be survivors and it is clearly demonstrated in the first game. When I mean clearly, they literally show Joel being ruthless to a group of bandits that were pretending to be injured, knowing this, Joel goes straight through like a badass. However, this trait is no longer seen in the second game. He casually just walks into a room filled with people that are armed and unknown. He then introduces himself, eventually getting killed. You see Joel die in the most brutally and heart-wrenching way possible during the first act of the game (2 hours in). This is where people misunderstand the majority of why fans hate this. We are not upset that Joel died...its how he died. His death by the end of the game nearly meant nothing. His character is not the same character we grew to love. Nor was his death memorable or meaningful whatsoever. A lot of us understood the motive that was presented here for Ellie, and yes...it did make us angry and we too wanted revenge just like Ellie. But it was done in a way that was so lazy and poorly written.

    2. Playing as Abby. It was very obvious what the game developers were trying to do. They wanted to humanize the character. They tried manipulating the audience by using the whole animal trope where Ellie is bad for killing dogs, Abby is good for saving a zebra and is friendly with dogs. It is these subtle things that make me so frustrated with the game because these devices or elements that are used to get the audience to sympathise with Abby are poorly integrated within the game. I can say that after playing 10 hours with Abby with a storyline that hardly connected with Ellie's, I still felt nothing for her character. Even by the last fight between Ellie and Abby, I was filled with rage and wanted Abby dead so badly.

    3. Poor Character development. I didn't care one bit about any of Abby's friends. In fact, I was super happy when Manny got shot in the face. Owen and Mel's death was nice to see. For the matter a fact, Jesse and Dina were alright characters. I truly didn't think much of them at all, when Jesse died to a bullet to the face, I kind of just sat there and looked at him and shrugged it off. It was clearly just for shock value, and the characters in the game clearly didn't care either.

    4. Political Agendas. Yes...Abby may not be a transgender woman, but my goodness, she got dem guns. Basically, all the men die, woman live on! I never really cared because Ellie was and always has been the best character in the game (apart from Joel). I have always seen Ellie as a badass character. She can handle her own and take on just about anyone. That is what I call a strong, independent female character. However, it is clear that some of the games selling point has to do with the lesbian, transgender LGBTQ political point of views. I am all for these kind of things, if it doesn't affect the story...which it didn't to be quite honest. I was fine with Dina and Ellie being together because I already knew Ellie liked women from the DLC Left behind! But, my goodness, Lev was just a copy paste of trying to replicate the Ellie and Joel relationship with Abby and baldy over there. It just sucks because they could have made all these powerful messages about the LGBTQ into the game, but do it subtly and not shove it down our throats. In doing so, it makes it more impactful and meaningful in a way. LIKE WHY WAS MEL OUT IN COMBAT WHEN SHE WAS PREGNANT! WOMAN EMPOWERMENT? NO!

    5. Ellie learning her lesson at such a weird time. Wtf yo...I tried writing this review in a professional manner, but as you can see above, I have given up. What was the ending. Only after getting 2 fingers bitten off and killing maybe another 50 people she then realises she doesn't want to kill Abby??? How did she not learn her lesson the first time when she encountered her. She killed probably over 200 peeps and by the end of the story shes like nah girl. Leave with yo bald ass baby... Ellie lost everything, whilst Abby is straight drippin in gold. Joels death felt like it was for nothing and the story just ends.    … Expand

    On the other hand, the game is gorgeous and the controls are great. The last fight with Abby was just abysmal, I absolutely did not enjoy beating down a withered person.

    It has one of the most fascinating and plot-twisting story in video game history (in my opinion).
    It is a very mature story about hatred, love, denial and revenge, and with those It is not obvious after all which characters to love, and which to hate.
    Yes, Joel is being killed at the beginning, but this is what makes this story so heartbreaking. No other game gave me that feeling before, and I am grateful and angry at this game at the same time.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Regarding the soundtrack and everything visual from the graphics to the acting performance this game deserves a much higher rate. To sum it up I would give it a range of 9-10 out of 10 in these areas. But, to my regret, the story naughty dog presented to us is far from the masterpiece most review sites are claiming it to be.
    The whole plot is based on a double revenge and tells us at the end to seek revenge (by murdering people) is a bad thing. This is such a boring message that I can't believe I played 30 hours to get it presented. Especially for video games and a zombie apocalypse in particular, this is both unnecessary and unrealistic (E.g is killing a pregnant woman in self-defense really worse than killing any other man/woman?). But I'm sure it was bound to get acclaim by reviewers from the start. First the developers present you the cruel death of Joel and send you to a journey to make his murders accountable for their actions. Although I expected Joel to die, I took note of the fact naughty dog tried their best to create the impression he will live in this sequel, so his relationship with Ellie can still function as a selling argument. Since I was mostly indifferent to Joel as character (although he was well written in the first part), during his death I did not feel the hate/sadness the authors wanted to create, but rather thought: “What a standard plot device”. Also, they chose revenge and hate as a feeling for the audience to feel because it’s the easiest one to produce. Can you imagine how hard it would have been to create the feelings for Abby and Lev in players like in the first part for Joel and Ellie? No that would have been too much work, better (literally and metaphorically) kill characters the audience already has a relation to and then try to redeem their murder.
    The pacing of the first half is extremely slow, and the game forces you to make stupid decisions and tell you afterwards how bad these decisions were. The plot is exclusively driven forward by stupid coincidences (e.g. characters leaving maps of were they go/went and where their base is and many more).
    The most stressful part of this game was the second half where you have to play as Joel's murder Abby. Opposite to the first half where the game wants to shine the worst light possible on Abby and the WLF (making them appear as ruthless warlords, which torture and kill people as they like, kill everyone not in their team with a "shoot first ask questions later"-mentality and their weak motives) the second half is devoted to show her as a nice human who only wants to survive and protect her friends. But while in the first half the game is rather successful in its mission, it fails its job terribly at the second half, mostly due to its cheap tricks: It is never explained why the WLF shoot first when spotting an outsider. Moreover, although she clearly tortures other people, the game wants you to like Abby because she is friendly to dogs and rescue two of the scars which help her escape others of them. Her whole plot isn't either a justification for what she did (same stays true for Ellie, but it is as poorly written) nor does she show at some point regret for what she did. And after all the pain those 30 hours were, the game doesn't let you a choice whether to spare or kill Abby. You have to spare her, Ellie returns to her home only to hunt Abby for a second time and yet again you are not allowed to have a choice here and spare her a second time. Compared to the first part: You may not have made the same decision as Joel, but his motives and feelings were understandable and the success of a medication at least questionable. In the second part, this is not as ambivalent, since the alternative for Ellie is much brighter and her second pursue of her revenge doesn’t make any sense.

    Summary: Visuals are great. but the story lacks logic in every way, I can't give this game a rate higher than 4. The Gameplay is despite a jumping and dodge mechanic the same as in the first part, no improvement, and no degradation. The plot feels forced in every way and makes you frustrated because you would never make such stupid decisions. Could have been much better, even with a revenge plot.    … Expand

    I did think some of the things in the story were too on the nose. For example, both main characters are in a love triangle of their own, one of the ways they made it so you can think 'look! They aren't that different even though one seeks revenge on the other'. But I found this story more interesting than the previous game, and honestly, even though I was prejudiced against Abby at the beginning considering her woeful murder of Joel, I definitely found her half of the game much more interesting than Ellie's.

    Cannot relate to the people hurt by Joel's death. I never really connected to him anyway. I did find the premise of the plot lame at first, but playing through it isn't bad.    … Expand

    The game is quite an experience. I good one. If N.D. should indulge his/TLOU fans and give them WHAT they wanted ? Maybe. But in the end is HIS story. Like Part one is his too. Keeping the proportions is like criticizing Michelangelo for making David to skinny or something. In my opinion is a great game. Worth waiting for the great finale. Part 3.

The story is miserable, and its meant to because its a story about grief. You aren't meant to like Abby but to understand her, she lost her father so she was in the right to hate Joel, whilst Joel was in the right to save Ellie as even though he could have let her save the world, Ellie was Joel's world.     Driven agenda garbage. The story was all over the place and the endgame blew. I bought this new for $10 and I should have just wasted my money on something else. Charity perhaps.

And I think the characters are all somewhat reasonable. All the hate is just like "I don't want it that way" - "the characters are dumb" - "Elli is not as sweet as in the first game". Yeah sure - butNo it's not that good. Not like the first game. But it's more than greate in it's own way. Maybe there a less ambushes and Joel wasn't as sceptical (and he was somehow - like talking not that much, asking "yesterday" and stuff like that) like back than in all the q-zones. Different land - different people. And his relation and living with Tommy, settling down has maybe changed him. Elli on the other side is just on an emotional roller coaster ride and is trying to figure out what to do. She has hard moments and break downs. Abby is just a cold-hearted solider. Just like a character in the game said: "You are a bad person, Abby." And she tries to change that by helping these kids. Same as her loved person, who tries to change as well. Maybe she wants a new life. She is not following rules and is unpredictable, but hardly trained and signed by these harsh world.
    And like everybody else said: atmosphere is top notch, gameplay flows, graphics, sounds. All very very good. Like the hospital basement. Climbing down the broken building. These mediterranean's-feeling coast stuff. I liked it a lot.
    But yeah, the second part of the game has some long stretches. Could be better here and there. But overall I was pretty well entertained. And my expectations where high as well. But I wanted a different story and I got one. I am happy with that. It's a brave game. Like Sekiro. And that wasn't loved as well because expectations weren't matched. But it was still a good game in what it wanted it to be.    … Expand

    Sound & Music (10/10) In my opinion the best part of the game was the musics. They put me through an undescribable emotional wave that I've never experienced before while playing a game so it would not be possible to pass without mentioning the music and I can definitely say the same for the in game sound so thank you Ashley Johnson, Troy Baker, Gustavo Santaolalla and other people whom worked on soundtracks for this amazing experience.

    Gameplay (7/10) The reason I gave 7 to the gameplay is, it felt like they didn't change it that much compared to the first game, we get to pass episodes and progress in the game by solving the puzzles (sections) like the first game. Also the shooting mechanics could've been better in my opinion but still it doesn't matter that much for me because I consider this game as an artwork like a movie so no matter how compelling the gameplay is we all get to see the same story and ending, that's why I'm always playing in the easiest mode in these type of games so I get to finish the game not too slow but explore the game through every beautiful detail.

    Story (9/10) The reason I left the story for the last is because I think there is a lot to say about it but I'll keep it as short as possible and try my best to criticize without giving spoilers because there are many people who don't play the second game due to this hatred and lynching notion towards the story.

    Personally I've enjoyed the story as much as the first game 'cause Part II definitely gives us a better understanding of The Last of Us universe and since it's a sequel to the first game it makes the events before the Part II even more meaningful so this is a great aspect to consider and actually what I think is if we were to play this exact story in the first game in addition to first game's story I think it would've changed everyone's opinions about the Part II because the events are %100 justifiable. I'm not saying that I wouldn't make it any different maybe I would've made it a little bit less tragic but the Last of Us universe itself a tragedy so scriptwriters actually did a good job by giving us a controversial story unlike the first game, otherwise it'd be just a casual story like we get to see %99 of the time in books, movies etc. everyday. Unfortunately in a cruel universe like Last of Us no one should be that lucky to get a happy ending even the protagonist. That's why I can give a solid 9 to the story.

    So, The Last of Us Part II was awesome overall, therefore I would definitely recommend.. I'll give (9/10) and I want to say that the hate towards the game and Naught Dog Co. was definitely unnecessary and not fair.
