    I think this game is perfect in all aspects, gameplay and history, they prove to you how to be an survival, and they prove to you that this world is arruined, with the revenge's and forgiving, I really think that user score on minimum 80+

    Excellent storyline that puts your feels in a place fitting for the current world. Ashley Johnson brings Ellie to life, as usual. The mechanics stay true to the original with a couple of extras added. Well worth purchasing.

    Entiendo la fustacion de la gente con respecto a la historia del juego, pero desde hace ya varios meses los creadores no vienen avisando que en esta entrega querían mostranos la realidad de un mundo como lo es the last of us donde NO HAY HÉROES. Si te sientes frustrado por como aún personaje al que tanto querías lo trataron como a un extra es entendible, pero no por eso tienes que ser tanEntiendo la fustacion de la gente con respecto a la historia del juego, pero desde hace ya varios meses los creadores no vienen avisando que en esta entrega querían mostranos la realidad de un mundo como lo es the last of us donde NO HAY HÉROES.     I believe that this game is really great, and that it doesn't deserve the reviews it's getting. It conveyed the message that it was trying to convey through it's storytelling, and i couldn't go to sleep out of anticipation to play the game the next game.

Had this since launch day, genuinely the way they handled Joel's death to the way they handled the complicated relationship between Ellie and Dina is genuinely amazing, i have found my new favorite game since last of us part 1. They stepped up the graphics, stepped up gameplay,stepped up the story telling,and genuinely made me cry around 6 times now.     I've waited so long and it was worth it. The game is one of the best on ps4. Strong story with strong ending, gorgeous graphics, well-written characters and gameplay its just masterpiece. Worth buying for any money

    As a long time film critic im not new to **** people being **** over something as stupid as a video game. Most reviews of this game are the worst thing to me. They take personal vendettas against a message brought to us through art. With that said I also don't believe that the message of tlou2 is pro gay but its more that gays just exist. The first couple of hours are not anything special but really it picks up and becomes truly amazing. The new character of Abby is easily one of my favorite characters in gaming period. Alot of controversy surrends her saying that she has poor writing but personally as a kid coming from similar circumstances I can personally say that she is perfectly written. The game has no to little plot holes which I see in many reviews they state. This is false. Last of us 2 is truly a masterpiece of both storytelling and gameplay.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It is really hard to believe that this game is receiving such a hate mob. There really are only two reasons people are so upset with this game:
    1. Joel's Death
    2. Ellie has a girlfriend/Abby is a very muscular woman who was rumored to be trans... uhhhh maybe her sex scene with Owen will scare away all the alt-right bloggers for at least ten seconds or so

    First off I would like to say that if Joel dying automatically ruins the whole game for you and that you feel the need to write a negative review even before beating the game, which it appears thousands have, then I do not think you understand the harsh reality of the Last of Us Universe and more importantly the fact that this is all about ELLIE. Joel is not Master Chief or Superman. He is very mortal in a universe that is dangerous and **** up. Characters are more than good or evil. They are complicated like actual human beings, so when Abby kills Joel because he killed her dad and the Fireflies. You should understand that Joel wasn't necessarily a perfect person and his death was justifiable to Abby. If you think the death of your favorite character from the previous game ruins the game for you then stay on Xbox where Master Chief and Marcus Fenix always live. This entire game is about Ellie's journey essentially as Joel's daughter. She learns from her father's past mistakes and is in the process of forgiving him for what he's done along the way. Instead of blood-crazed revenge she lets Abby live at the end because she understands that Abby isn't some awful terrible person. Abby wanted revenge for her dad's death, and Ellie's ENTIRE story is literally her seeking revenge for Joel's (her father figure) death. They are the same people on opposite sides. Ellie realizes this, and that revenge is not the way to gain closure. People hate the fact the Joel died and they hate even more that the person who killed him isn't some cool mega-villain. Instead it is a complex person. The writing and set-up for all of this is perfect, and just because portions of it were leaked by some **** doesn't change that.

    Now, the bane of all conservatives enters the fray. Gay couples. If Joel shacked up with some woman nobody would say anything, but you better believe that when a gay couple is in a video game it is "agenda's being shoved down our throats." Grow up guys. It is called love and it is excellently portrayed here. Ellie's relationship with Gina is so heartwarming and at the end when it seems to be over it is devastating. Sadly, we live in a world that dismiss the game as soon as themes such as gay relationships enter the picture and that is incredibly sad.

    Lastly addressing another concern I see for this game, Abby. A lot of hate from the leaks were poured onto Abby's character because she killed Joel and is muscular so people assumed she was trans. She literally **** a guy in the game so people hating on that should actually play the game. I understand not liking Abby for torturing Joel. Everyone loved Joel. It was why his death summoned every high-schooler to there metacritc account to write a scathing review about the game's poor writing. "You can't kill Joel we love him!" The unique and amazing thing the Last of Us 2 does is give you a large chunk of game where you play as Abby, and develop alongside her. Abby's character arc is such a great parallel to Ellie's. I really would like you to dig deep in what both protagonists have learned by the endgame, and see how much they have changed. Abby is a great character who was given too much hate for murdering Joel and possibly being trans (There are a lot of people who hate that I guess.) The idea that having gay characters makes it pandering to a certain crowd btw is absolutely stupid. This is life and people can love whom they choose. Especially in a **** apocalypse.

    This game is a graphical masterpiece with an amazing soundtrack and terrific writing. Sadly, due to Joel's death and the divisiveness of views on LGBTQ relationships, the Last of Us Part II is being unfairly buried. This game is a perfect story that makes you want to laugh and cry, and it has many hard pounding sequences along the way. I implore anyone who loved the first game to play this. because This is a story of love and empathy.    … Expand

    you can say much about the game without giving anything away, but you'll just have to see for yourself what makss this game so amazing. every detail is so finely crafted and so perfectly tuned.

Last of us 2 has great new game mechanics that make fighting enemies much more fun and unique and the play style mirrors that of the first last of us. However the story is DOG **** and no matter how much i enjoyed the gameplay,mechanics,graphics it does not do justice for how poorly this story was put together. 7 years too see joel killed off in the first hour or so and not even a meaningful death that's what hurts the most.

    An excellent game with an excellent story. It perfectly complements the first opus. It is very strong emotionally and has an excellent lifespan (I finished it in almost 22 hours of play). I hope to have a sequel to complete and finish this story.

    People saying it's boring.....you move to one area kill enemies then walk around for 20 mins with nothing. Yes at some points there isn't a lot of action but that's not what this game is about. You need atmosphere, a lot of the time the down time moments are to allow conversation between characters or simply to allow some atmosphere. Also a lot of the time these moments allow exploration where notes can be found for more world building or safe codes. Equally the contrast between the quiet moments and then the moments of action are key to the experience.
    This game is about story, it's about creating a believable world with relatable characters. It hasn't evolved a whole load from tlou 1 but then why change something great? If anything this improves on the first. Movement and conflict is so much smoother with more fluidity to motion. The only criticism I can find is that there are a few light glitches but v rare and insignificant.
    Finally anyone bombing this score because there is a feminist undertone or because Ellie is a Lesbian who has a relationship with (shock horror) a girl.......
    Go look at yourself in the mirror and question what you are doing.

    My brain malfunctioned during the entire post credit scene… Prob it’s the unpopular opinion now but I appreciate Naughty Dog took risks. Not just lgbtq theme wise but rather the main discussion point of the game.

    La historia, les guste o no, está bien desarrollada, porque intenta ser realista, mostrar que el personaje que más usamos en el 1 muere de esa manera es hacernos caer a una realidad que, pese a ser un juego, hay cosas similares a la vida real. Mostrar el punto de vista de Abby es excelente también, ya que muestra el lado humano, ayuda a entender el porque de sus acciones y ayuda a crear una atmosfera diferente cuando les toca pelear a Abby y Ellie. No sentís que es Ellie contra la villana de turno, sentís que es una pelea entre dos personas que sufrieron bastante para llegar hasta ese punto. El final quizás es algo cuestionable, pero no deja de ser razonable, una Ellie que entiende los porqué de Abby y al final decide perdonarle la vida.
    En conclusión, un juego que intenta narrar una historia más realista, con dos enfoques diferentes de la narrativa. Gracias ND por no caer en el cliche de historia de venganza.    … Expand

If you want a good “fan” review look at the fans rating it between a 10-7. For me I give it a ten because it is truly an amazing game. Graphically it is stunning there is no denying that. The controls and overall feel of controlling the character is amazing. The accessibility they put into this game truly is amazing and is going to be a standard for games to come. The story is a emotional rollercoaster just like the first game. Everything about this game is amazing. Stop listening and believing the haters who thought about giving this game a 0 the day it was available to. Because of what some leaks that were half right months prior? A lot of those leaks you read aren’t true. If you aren’t a bigot than you will enjoy this game. It is truly a masterpiece in my humble opinion. Would I have liked the story to go a different route sure I guess a tad bit. Since that’s the biggest complaint/hate of this game is the story. Yes it sucks something terrible happens and I wish it didn’t but it’s ok because unlike angry **** in their parents basements I’m at peace with it ladies and gents. We can wish and want the story to do this or go this way but at the end of the day guess what? We’re not the ones writing or making the story. It’s not our story to tel. We are the players. We’re here for the ride. And if you didn’t like the story of this game that’s fine and all, If you actually played The game. But you can not deny the marvel of everything else that I mentioned. The music in this game is amazing. So many intense moments. So many twists and turns and unexpected stuff happens in this game. That the leaks paint a different picture than what the game is. An it’s sad because a lot of dumb humans believe it. For me this game is GOTY contender and my advice to anyone reading this is to buy this game. If you love Naughty Dog and trust them and see that they have brought us nothing but great fun and amazing games. Than you won’t be disappointed in this game. I loved it! To all the haters eat a dick. To the Xbox fanboys hating; and probably are more than half the ones review bombing eat a dick. You’re console/consoles will never get a game like The Last Of Us. So enjoy you’re overplayed Halo and Gears. Enjoy the review bombing; and **** talk all you want **** because 10-15 years from now Y’all won’t have a console to play on. Xbox won’t exist just like Gamestop. The only thing that will exist is Gamepass but that’ll be available on everything including Playstation.     This game represents the pinnacle of video gaming. Offering unparalleled, gut wrenching challenging gameplay coupled with beautiful graphics.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. MY TOTAL SCORE | 10 | - Everything i wanted in this game was to play like Joel and Ellie. NaughtyDog dind't gave me that chance. Instead they paired me with the most unpleasant situation that i lived in a videogame. I had to see with my head pinned down, how my favourite character died like a dog. Then, i wanted to cry and kill everyone. But the game forced me into Abbie's storyline. I felt awkward playing as her. Part of me wanted to drop the controller and let the infected kill her over and over again. As the story was told, i understood that Abbie's group were people too. There was no good or bad guys, no black or white, even the Scar were gray. What Joel did in the first game had a major impact and ruined their lifes. Even if i was attached to Ellie, i understood. Every flashback, every cutscene was perfect, and had the perfect timing. I wanted to cry every time Ellie played Future Days.
    This game is PERFECT and it diserves a high score and probably GOTY award, but understand this: the game deals with mature content, storyline and character developement. That's why it has a low review score. Because people wanted a cheesy revenge story, plain characters and straight-forward moral situtations.

    MY REVIEW:
    CHARACTERS | 10 | - One of the best character developement that i ever seen. I feel attached with each and every one of them. I hated Abbie and the Wolves, but the game drives you into their story right after your favourite character was killed by them and shows you that they are people too, and that (from Abbie's point of view) Joel diserved what he got. Abbie was Ellie's Joel.

    STORY | 10 | - The game is not a classic revenge story by any means, and it's not for everyone. The mature content and depth of the characters combined with the story hits you right in the feelings. The different versions of the same event allows the player to understand everything that the characters are going trough. Everything is GRAY, not the clasic black and white, good versus evil.

    WORLD | 10 | - I love the world. What can i say? The world feels alive, every NPC of every faction has a name and probably a story. You hear them, they miss people, they are afraid, and when you are done hearing them and hiding, you kill them and the other NPCs scream "OH GOD, MARTHA IS DEAD". Freaking GREAT. The ambience and the ruins of the city are immersive, the sounds are incredible. Every part of the world design is awesome!

    GAMEPLAY AND ANIMATIONS | 9 | - The gameplay feels true to "The Last of Us", stealth mechanics, spam-grab everything, fluid combat, etc. I have one critic: The stealth-kill animations. I mean, come on, it's always the same. Couldn't you add at least two? Anyway, it's a minor thing, everything else is excelent.

    ADDRESSING THE CRITICS:
    1) A character you liked died. So, what? You deal with it and see where the game gets you.

    2) I absolutely HATE games, series or movies that force the LGBT+ in their stories. This game is an example of how to deal with that without forcing it. We have a lesbian, a bisexual jewish, a trans-gender Scar-asian boy, and TONS of NPCs talking about "Getting back with my man/woman". I didn't feel forced into that not even for a second. The game deals with it with absolute grace in a normal fashion, without imposing ideals. Just people dating people.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I know for some people the last 3 months of our quarantine have been rough but this game has been like a rainbow after the Storm. I have missed Ellie and Joel! The Last of Us has been one of my favorite games for a long time since then I've played it at least seven times I am so eager to finish part 2. I don't mind Ellie being gay but I feel that it is straight up in your face the entire game. If Ellie was straight and had a boyfriend constantly bumping into me I would feel the same way. The Last of Us is not a romantic love story but a "father-daughter" relationship based on trust and hardship. I feel that Ellie nor Joel's sexual preference should be a side story in this storyline. Ellie's girlfriend has less personality than a plank of wood and really could have played the game without her. We should have had more time with Joel but I also understand they needed to move the story along. The nostalgia in this game is one I hold close to my heart. I love how some things have not changed such as the way we upgrade guns, search for loot, take medicine for upgrades, and the menu and how you make medkits and bombs. I love the collectibles and how Ellie writes everything in her journal. I think naughty dog did awesome with the graphics and show how time passes but the world stayed the same.
    The handling of the characters could use some work. I hate how Ellie jumps and the noises she makes. I'm glad they kept the same type of "infected" and impressed with the new.
    I like how they opened up the map especially in Seattle up I just wish they had a better navigation system. I don't like the fact that if I miss something I can't go back. Overall I am very pleased with this game.    … Expand

    I don’t know what to say. A masterpiece is what this game is. It will make you angry while bringing tears to your eyes, and it motivates you to keep going forward so you can get your revenge on the ones who wronged you. My play through took 22 hours and I was immersed in the world and story every second. This game quality should be the standard all developers going forward. Naughty Dog hasI don’t know what to say.     I played quite a bit and probably I can’t fully describe what I saw, but from the very beginning there was no doubt that Naughty Dog would get a game that deserves praise from those who appreciate their work.

    Now coming to the plot, I don't know why people are mad at it, the ending is really poetic I just have this feeling people, especially gaming nerds do not having the intellect to understand the ending, they are watering it down to much, in the end, she spares Abby because that way she is forgiving Joel for the Salt lake hospital scene.    … Expand

    Unbeliveable. The last of Us have been stuck at my personal top spot since the Ps3 era, and my expectations where high. But boy, did ND deliver. Grippig, chilling, beautifull.. I bow to one of the bedt games ever made.

It massively explored our feelings and the ability to empathize with someone who hurt you really bad. I do feel that the ending was "cut short", which kind of reminds me of Life is Strange 1. As if they were in a hurry. I liked the gameplay, although it's not for everyone. If you liked the gameplay in the first one, I don't know why you wouldn't like it in the second one. It's weird that the most emotional parts were during flashbacks, but they still hit the spot. I'll think about this game for a while.… Expand

    7 years since the first part of Last of Us was released. For me the best game i have ever played. After playing the second part, i know, Last of Us Part 2 is the perfect evolution from the first part. Its unbelievable how intens and immersiv a game could be. So many emotions. Hard Gameplay and hard Story. Best Game i have ever played. Thank you Naughty Dog for a trip like this

    Throughout the course of this game you will feel different things that may be uncomfortable but stick with it, the new characters are wonderful additions and if you're invested in this universe you will feel a whole string of emotions towards various characters and as you understand the prespectives of both ellie and abby you begin to understand that they aren't all that different in some ways. As you begin to see why abby did what she did you slowly begin to sympathize with her and grow with her as the game progresses while also getting to know the people ellie hurts the game puts you in control of abby for the first fight between abby and ellie, this for me wasnt enjoyable but it was necessary for the storys progression, its necessary for you to understand that even though you want to side with ellie after what abby did you've grown to care about the people abby wants to avenge after ellie kills them and its painful to see abby grieve the way ellie does over joel. This is the point in the game were you realize that there is no good guys or bad guys, just survivors in a broken world and to get the full emotional pull of the second act you HAVE to understand this. Yet while I did grow to like abby I do believe that some of the best moments in the game are the flashbacks that host both a younger ellie and a kinder joel, they absolutely steal the show and while i morn the lose of joel gravely so and found it difficult at first to see things from abbys view i did enjoy story. Also abbys play time is just as long as ellies though I personally(as well as most people i would assume) think ellie steals the show. You feel the characters emotions just by seeing their expressions and listening to the music which is furthered even more by dialouge and actions of said characters. At first you will absolutely hate abby as the developers surely intend you to but once ellies three day period is over and you play those same three days over as abby she may very well start to grow on you. The gameplay is smooth and combat and stealth are so much more tense then ever before as the enemy AI will find ways to outsmart you or outgun you and that only increases as the difficulty increases. The graphics speak for themselves as remarkable breathtaking feats and while the story may not be for everyone I fully enjoyed my time with this game and am already making headway in a second playthrough. By the end the game makes you understand that ellie wasn't after abby purely for revenge as the final flahback reveals that ellie and joel were beginning the roads to forgiveness after ellie had found out about joels lie in an earlier cutscene but just a short time after they have this discussion he is taken from her by abby and ellie feels that abby stole her chance to forgive and heal what was broken, while also realizing what this quest for revenge has turned her into and upon realizing this ellie lets abby go instead of drowning her. this story requires you to take the story as it is instead of what you want it to be and doing so grounds the universe even further as each character is more than true to who they were and who they've become since the time we last seen them. This game does not have a happy ending as ellie loses 2 fingers in her final fight with ellie she can no longer play the guitar, realising that her quest for revenge has also taken the last thing left she had from joel(being his lessons on how to play the guitar) as well as losing her relationship with dina in favor of tracking abby down. You the player feel this overwhelming pain as the screen pans out after she's set down the guitar and left the house and all that's left is to watch her walk away with this feeling of understanding that she's lost pretty much everything because of the choices that were made. These emotions may not be what you're looking for in a game and thats okay but to those who do decide to play it the story is great even in all lose and sadness.

    If youre still skeptical I encourage you to look at reviews on both sides, get good and bad opinions and see if this is for you and maybe watch a playthrough if that doesn't prove enough, but please only listen to those who sound like they've actually played the game and be aware that there's definitely people here review bombing a product they haven't played. You may not be one who enjoys this work of art and thats ok but make the decision for yourself, don't let others tell you how to feel. To all incoming players be prepared for an emotionally challenging story that will push you to the edge and back. As I believe this story is closely on par with the emotional holdings of the first in almost every way.    … Expand

    Having finished the game I can say 99% of people rated game havent played it. Graphics are excellent gameplay is fun and reminds last of us 1. Story is interesting with its own twists. Play game for yourself instead of crying about it..

    These crybabies are even down voting positive reviews because some people actually enjoyed the game and don't share their view, while circle jerking their own negative ones.

    The game is in every way better that the first one, and yes, I've seen the leaks and the ending. I pre-ordered it after seeing the leaks. I don't care about the political agenda, i don't pay attention to it, I'm concentrating on the post-apocalyptic game. After all the internet outrage, i was expecting flying unicorn LGTBs shooting rainbows. It's nothing like that, it's barely noticeable, just the edgy children blowing it out of proportion.
    Every encounter I've had is memorable, maybe because also the lack of supplies and difficulty. I am actually reluctant to start playing it again because i know I'm gonna sink another 8 hours in it and then the day has passed.
    I don't think there is more to say about the graphics, environments, sound design, acting, and overall polish of the game, this is basically a PS 5 game for the PS 4, I just wanted to clear the story part: IT'S GOOD!

    I can only talk about this game in superlatives. There is no word, that how grateful I'm for the Naughty Dog to put this incredible effort to create even the tiniest details and drop my jaw everytime when I play this unbelievable adventure. This game is worth even way more money than It costs. Thanks again for this great experience!

The death of joel it was sad, but completely necessary for the revenge feeling. If the game give you so much hate is because the immersion in the feelings are better than we expected. Thats why this game diserved 20 point of 10.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Last of Us Part II is one of those games that makes you question everything. It brings up questions of morality, ethics, among many others.

    I read the leaks before the game came out and like many others was so angry. I felt they treated my beloved characters wrongly. I tried to give Naughty Dog the benefit of the doubt anyway due to their amazing games of the past.

    Now having played it all the way through, I can say it has become one of the best games I have ever played. It has shifted my reality much like the first one did.

    Last of Us Part II is a game that hurts you. It hurts you so bad that you fall. And when you are on the floor helpless, it continues to beat you. It barely offers any moments of joy. Somehow I still find so much joy in it. It offers an experience that really puts you at odds with everything and puts you in a place that makes you feel helpless, much like the characters feel in the game.

    The biggest complaint heard around is Joel’s death. Not THAT he died but HOW he died. I get that. It made me incredibly sad and angry when it occurred in the game. But now I get why he died that way. People don’t want to recognize it but in the world of the Last of Us, Joel is just a guy. A **** up and horrible but amazing and beautiful guy. The death is proper because it reminds the player that Joel is no god. He is just as human just like every else that the player kills in the series and is treated as such. People get killed in the worst ways in the world and the game reflects that. Joel is no exception to that terrible death many get. Also as much as it pains me to say it. I love Joel with all my heart but his death is justified. Joel, as much as we love is, is a terrible human being. He not only **** up Ellie’s life by making her give up what she wanted so badly in life (to mean something, her way of meaning something being sacrificing herself for a cure), but he also killed so many innocent lives in the process. His one selfish decision to take Ellie out of the hospital came at such a large cost to so many people’s lives. It was inevitable Joel would die they way he did. Karma caught up with him. Of course his death still hurts so bad. I cared about him so much but it makes sense that he dies that way.

    The other concern I had about the death is that I thought Joel would be dead 2 hrs in and then we’d never see him ever again. I was proven wrong by the many flashbacks seen throughout the game. Joel is still largely in the story, just not in the current world. Only in flashbacks. He is still want the whole story revolves around and is seen quite a bit, thank the lord.

    The other complaint I see tossed around is the one about Abby’s transgender nature and Ellie’s gay nature. I don’t think people mind their being diverse characters but feel this game is trying to shove it down their throats. I am going to tell everyone who has never played the game. NO AGENDA IS SHOVED DOWN YOUR THROAT IN THIS GAME. Yes, lesbian situations are in the game a lot but it all feels nature. It doesn’t feel like any sort of statement. With Abby being transgender, I can’t remember when it is ever mentioned. In fact I don’t think it ever is. Transgender is mentioned in one section about a different character but doesn’t feel like any agenda. People heard in the leaks that a transgender is put as a hero for like Joel and instantly think that some agenda is being put: that transgenders are better than everyone. That isn’t at all said. One, the game doesn’t say Abby is better than Joel at all. In fact it tries its best to make everyone seem like neither good or bad guys, just humans. Second, Abby being transgender is not important to her character at all throughout the story, just something the character is. I understand the anger but I hope if people just take the time to play it they can understand the beauty in it. Sure it has some plot points that I feel are unnecessary and some moments are really slow but overall it is on the same level as the original Last of Us in my opinion. It feels like a proper Part II that is needed to complete this franchise. Hope people take my advice to heart and give this game a chance. So many people worked so hard on it and I think it’s paid off.

The environment is great, I love the open world aspect and being able to enter random buildings, all the new game mechanics are great too, the story is also amazing. I'm not disapointed at all, all the people who are eating the game bad before even playing it or just eating it bad because Joel died shouldn't be playing video games. Characters die, it's not a reason to rate it bad… Expand

    Now to get to the part that is apparently polarizing: the story. I personally find it a brave effort that is often profound. It's very visceral and made me empathize with characters in a way that I never thought they could do. Having said that, it is certainly not for everybody. It is full of pain, grief, and violence, and that can get exhausting for some. For those that are worried about the polarity in opinion, I think it is probably because the people that are upset wanted a continuation of the same story elements they saw in the first game, but were angry and confused when the game decided to take things in a new direction and explore different themes. My advice would be to relax and let the game tell you the story it wants to tell.

    My 10/10 score for the game is not to say that the game is perfect. No game is perfect. There are certainly problems with the pacing, and the skill trees and upgrades have not evolved enough, but these issues were never enough to detract from my experience with the game.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The hate for this game is extremely unwarranted. I guarantee that most of the people hating on this game haven't even played it. And if they did, they wouldn't give it a chance. This has been my most anticipated game ever. The first one is my 2nd favorite game of all time but i genuinely think that this game is better. The story is better, the gameplay is leaps and bounds better and the characters are better. We barely know these new characters but I cared about them as if they were my real friends.
    The relationship between Dina and Ellie is everrrything. They have so much chemistry together. Even the relationship between Owen and Abby was very well done. And let me just say this. The fact that I cared about Abby after she did what she did is crazy. The writing for this game is just insanely good.
    The ending for this game is great. From Abby and Ellies fight scene all the way to Ellie walking away from the country house leaving her guitar there is masterful. So much to unwrap with this game. One of my favorite things about this game is the overall lesson. Don't let revenge consume you. Revenge is a big thing in this game. Abby got revenge for her father and that caused all of her friends to die and for her and her new friend to almost die. Ellie wanted to get revenge for Joel and she lost Jesse, her fingers, and almost Tommy, Dina and her life. She DID try to let it go but she kept remember Joel dying and developed PTSD over it so to put those nightmares to bed, she decided to go get that revenge and even that almost killed her. Ellie thankfully didnt go through with killing Abby and i think that was a good move. Even though Abby deserved it in Ellies eyes, she let her go.
    I also really like that this game shows that Joel was the real bad guy all along. Never thought that I would think of him as a bad guy but this game did it.


    This game uses flashbacks perfectly. I don't usually like flashbacks in my movies, games or what have you. It always feels like padding but here, it has a meaning and feels necessary to the plot. The last flashback we got..oopph what a tear jerker man.


    When Joel sang that song to Ellie in the beginning "If I were to ever lose you, I'd surely lose myself." That right there pretty much summarizes the game. Ellie lost herself. I love that little bit. The graphics are pretty great. The only con I have with them is that Owen didnt look as good as the others.


    Don't listen to the haters for this game. They just can't get over the death of Joel and completely write off the entire game cuz of it. They just wanted the same exact game as the first one. And to you homophobes out there that think just because theres a gay character in a game it means they're automatically pushing the agenda. **** you. Grow up. This **** should be looked at as normal. You are whats wrong with the world. Graphics- 9.5/10

    I very much loved this game and I think if you get the binky out of your mouth and give this game a chance, go into it with an open mind and look at the game from a story perspective, you would love this game just as much as me.

    This game is great having alot of fun with it. Looks beautiful. I loved the first one and this is there with it. So many salty snowflake xbox players just giving it a bad rating because they dont have any good exclusives is sad. That's what happened with Days gone. Do what I did dont listen to the ratings just play the game yourself and you will enjoy it .

    This is the darkest, most grueling, brutal game I've ever played. I just finished it and man there are so many moments that are burned into my brain that make me laugh and cry. Give it a chance and actually **** play the game before ignoring these sexist, racist ****

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
