    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I have actually played this game through the beginning to the end. I’m not just some fan that’s watched a bunch of YouTube videos coming here to throw around ‘SJW’ and give it a 1/10. This game is great. Not comparable to the first, but great. The main big gripe I see with most reviews is the death of Joel. If you played the game, you would know why Joel met his demise. Put yourself in Abby’s shoes. If someone killed your father, you would go out of your way to end this persons life. That is exactly what Abby did, and in a way she’s justified in her actions even though I do have love for Joel. Joel killed her father. Abby's entire backstory is painted throughout the entirety game, so you come to understand why she feels the way she does. At the beginning of the game, I hated her. But throughout the game as you play through her sections, her backstory is fleshed out so you get a better understanding of her actions and reasonings. I came to like her almost as much as Ellie by the final scene. Joel was selfish for killing everyone at the hospital to save Ellie, but I also understand why he did. Also, for the plot holes. The only one I keep seeing is about Ellie wearing a gas mask. Again, if you played the game, you would understand because this is brought up about halfway through the game. Joel tells Ellie to always keep her mask on near spores Incase they run into another survivor. Ellie’s immunity is still a secret in this game. Towards the end of the game, after playing as both Ellie and Abby for hours and hours, I came to sympathize with the both of them. They were both doing what they thought was right because of the death of a loved one, even though Abby kept sparing Ellie’s life but Ellie could not let it go and kept going on her revenge quest which eventually in the end made her lose most things she loved. There are NO SJW themes in this game whatsoever. There is NO cult of Christians that are going around killing people because 'they're gay' like most leakers are saying. Abby has the body structure she does because ever since the day Joel killed her dad, instead of sitting on the sidelines and doing nothing she's been training every single day non stop for the day she meets Joel. I would give this game an 8.5/10, but Im giving it a 10 on here to offset the people, most who haven't even played the game, giving this game a 1 for something they know nothing about. This is explained in the game. I felt bad for Ellie towards the end, but that was the predicament she kept putting herself and the people around her in over and over again. If you set out for revenge, you best dig two graves.… Expand

    - GAMEPLAY The gameplay is just awesome. Naughty Dog has mixed the gameplay mechanics of The Last of Us and Uncharted 4, added new animations and made everything faster and smoother. You have the impression of being in a movie.     - GAMEPLAY
    The gameplay is just awesome. Naughty Dog has mixed the gameplay mechanics of The Last of Us and Uncharted 4, added new animations and made everything faster and smoother. You have the impression of being in a movie. I tried doing things like jumping over an enemy from a roof and it actually worked. The silenced gun allows you new tactics, for example you can grab one enemy, threaten another with the gun and kill both silently. These things are not explained, so you have to find out for yourself and I find it simply amazing.
    There are multiple enemies, with different guns, abilities etc. Dogs make stealth missions more interesting.
    Now you can jump, lie down, go under a car or hide in grass so there are more possibilities to defeat enemies.
    Often the areas are very large, making the game a kind of mini open world.

    - GRAPHICS
    I played the game on standard PS4 and the graphics are just amazing. It looks like a new gen videogame. The level design is awesome, every house is different from the others. Facial expressions and animations are the best ever made in a video game so far, it makes it more realistic and makes you identify even more in the story.

    - STORYLINE
    If you expect the usual story where the protagonist saves everyone and becomes a hero then don't buy it. The story takes up some themes from the first The Last of Us, such as the fact that nobody is perfect, everyone is human. Joel and Ellie may be heroes for us, but they are enemies of other people. To emphasize this, they show us the story from other perspectives.
    The main theme is revenge. But it is much more complicated than that. It is the description of human psychology and its evolution over the course of events. The narrative, as for the first chapter, is spectacular
    I don't say anything else to avoid spoilers

    - A. I.
    Alive. The world is simply alive.
    The enemies talk to each other, communicate, look for us, despair if one of their companions dies or if they are injured. When you kill someone, you feel it on your conscience. It is so realistic.
    Dogs simply act like real dogs.
    Your travel companions are real, they talk to you and keep you company. You never feel like you're in a video game.
    The only stupid beings (deliberately) are the infected, which do not reflect and appear clumsy.

    - SOUND
    I finished the game and am continuing to hear the music of the game on spotify. Perhaps for personal tastes I preferred those of the first chapter, but these are perfect for this darker video game.
    Ambient sounds are made with impressive precision and quality. If you have surround headphones, use them and you will realize that what you have in front of you is not a video game, but a real world.

    - DETAILS
    Details are the things that make a great video game, a masterpiece. They might not have put the squirrel on the tree, the rat in the bathroom or the floating plastic bag carried by the wind. But they did it.
    If you kill someone on the snow, the blood is absorbed by it and, being hot, it melts it.
    I tried to get on one thing (I can't say what) completely by chance, and there was a real cutscene for this. An impressive attention to detail
    There are other details that I let you discover for yourself, also because some of them are real spoilers.

    - CONCLUSION
    In my opinion, The Last of Us Part II is at least the game of the generation.
    It may not be a game suitable for everyone, but if you love a powerful storyline, full of emotions, surrounded by an exceptional technical sector and gameplay, then it is the right game for you.

    This games is very, very very good. The history is amazing. gameplay is wonderfull. The grafics and ambiences(RTS ON) is equal a movie. the best seller from games. You don't like? You play? ..So congrats for your opinion. For case the justice, this game would like received among 7.0 ou 7.6. But many notes below 4.0, typically to harm without any foundation

    Probably the best game I've ever played. The story is incredible, exraordinarily mature; it can be liked or not but it certainly establishes a new standard for the storytelling.
    The gameplay is perfect, with stealth and chaotic moments perfectly alternated.
    This is an absolute masterpiece, maybe the best game for this generation

    People are mad that this game “throws away everything the first game leads up to” but it does not at all. The story doesn’t pick up where you’d expect it to but over the course of the game you’re brought up to speed on what happened in between where the first game leaves off and this game picks up.     This game is just a master piece, it has a lot of details, the graphics are incredible, the history sometimes is strange but i like it, ppl the changes are good, I can bet that uf they dont change anything you will be mad, be more flexible.

A Ellie foi assombrada pela imagem do Joel sendo morto, aquela imagem motivou ela a fazer tudo o que fez, mesmo sabendo que a Abby teve um motivo forte. No momento final, quando ia matar ela, veio na cabeça dela uma imagem boa, como se fosse um alívio, e com isso conseguiu deixar pra trás a sede de vingança.

    Mano, que história foda e complexa. Isso é uma obra de arte, e como toda boa arte ela reflete sobre a realidade.

    Percebo muita gente dando negativo na tentativa de boicotar o game ou invejesos alienados de outras plataformas, uma pena o "gamer" de hoje em dia ser tão toxico.

Ningun juego de esta generacion logro hacer en mi lo que hizo the last of us part 2, me mantuvo siempre interesado en su historia, me creo emociones encontradas, ademas de tener un exelente gameplay... despues de terminar la primera mitad del juego con Ellie y empezar a jugar con Abby pense que se habian cagado en el juego, pero ese sentimiento solo duro unos 15 minutos. La historia de abby fue muy buena, para mi concepto llego a tener momentos mas epicos que con Ellie, por ejemplo la pelea en el hospital contra el primer infectado, el momento en el que escapabas de la isla. En fin al momento de ir a pelear contra Ellie llegue hasta sentirla la mala del juego.

    Definitivamente el juego quedo abierto para una tercera entrega. Ojalá y así sea.    … Expand

    Gameplay is great, it's a smoother more dynamic version of the first game which was lauded as basically a perfect game. The story and writing are amazing. Are you happy watching events unfold? No, it's a zombie apocalypse it's not going to be a happy ending for anyone. But are the characters nuanced and compelling? Absolutely. Play this game and then judge it

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is not just a sequel, but the continuation of the story from the first game. That’s why it’s called The Last of Us: Part II. I fell in love with the first game. The journey of Joel, from loving father, to broken man, to hardened survivor, to finally allowing himself to open back up again to this little girl... Ellie made Joel whole again.

    However, in Part II, we get answers to the hard questions we were left with in Part I. How would Ellie respond if she found out the truth about Salt Lake, and what were, if any, the repercussions of Joel’s actions?

    The monsters in Pittsburgh, who ambushed Joel and Ellie, the ones who would murder people in the streets just to take their shoes and whatever else they could find... Joel admits that the reason he knew it was a trap was because he had been on both sides. It’s part of what created such a division between he and Tommy years prior to meeting Ellie. What they had to do to survive was awful. Many innocent people died, because, as Joel put it, it was either them or him.

    That comes back to haunt him, in a way that is truly unimaginable to us, as gamers. And it hurts. What is done to Joel - a character I related with - was so cruel, and cold, and ruthless, and done without a second thought. It’s what puts us in Ellie’s shoes. We want revenge, and we want it now.

    However, what Naughty Dog does so well in this game is to show us that cycle of loss, revenge and violence, in a way we never got to see in the first game. The path Ellie takes to get “justice” is paralleled with Abby’s path for “justice” on the man who took her Joel... her father. Abby found him dead in a pool of his own blood, along with many of the people she called family. They were killed without remorse, without hesitation, by a man named Joel Miller.

    The Last Of Us: Part II forces us to look at its world and see it’s far less black and white than we would have liked to have believed, even though we knew it wasn’t.

    In the end, I knew I didn’t want to see Ellie go down the same path Joel did... and Joel didn’t want that for her either. In fact, it was the last thing he would’ve wanted. He fought for her, he did things that, yes, were horrible... for her, so that she could live her life... and he’d do it all over the same way. Because, to him, she was his world, and he wanted her to experience the life that Sarah never got the chance to.

    In the end... the very end... Ellie saw that. She felt the love Joel had for her, and it gave her the strength, in her most darkest moment, to let go. It’s the same strength Ellie unknowingly gave Joel 4 years prior, and it was love, and not revenge, that granted it.

    I, for one, am glad she found that strength before it was too late. She saved Joel, and Joel saved her.    … Expand

The story get in touch with your emotions, the dynamics are new and fresh, you reconnect with the old characters and create a bond with the new ones. I encourage to everybody to play this game, but not before playing the first part. This is a gem, this kind of game only appears every decade and the 2020 is own by The Last of Us Part ll

    La verdad el juego es excelente, valla es crudo el videojuego pero muy bueno por un momento pensé en dejarlo ya que es cruel pero cuando te vas adentrando en la historia no la puedes dejar, mi opinión profesional es un excelente videojuego de esta generación de consola y si lo quieren probar el recomiendo que se esperen a la play 5 para probarlo con mejores gráficos

    I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone (although I’m tempted to believe anyone who wanted to have this spoiled has already done so) but suffice to say this game tackles some really complex issues and raises important questions. What am I willing to do for revenge, what purpose do I have, what am I good for without such purpose, what do we do with our own trauma? No single game can ask and answer all these questions in a conclusive way, but this game takes time and moments to allow you to breath into the unease of those very hefty concepts. Was it fun? It’s hard to say, I would argue neither this game or it’s predecessor is as concerned with that as it is with you reflecting humanity and all it’s flaws in indescriminate detail. You may not love Ellie by the end of this. There are no hero’s here. The underlaid question, “does acting on the most human of impulses in trauma lead to the perpetuation of that trauma? Can we grow from this?” continues to circle in my mind. This isn’t just gaming, it’s a psych course on the effects of PTS. Putting your hands behind some heinous actions.

    But at the end of this all you’ll still want better for Ellie while understanding what trauma causes. View her kindly as she is not the sole perpetrator at fault here, an unending cycle of violence that she was born into that she knows no alternative to is the real villain at the center of this game. I’ll give her (and her counterpart) the grace of forgiveness, since the world there been built around her has not afforded her the luxury.    … Expand

Yes the story is slightly disappointing in that Joel is killed before Ellie's eyes turning her in to one crazy **** on a revenge spree. They've turned the violence and gore notch to maximum and what you get is a proper cat and mouse game relying on stealth, stamina and and and a good old brain bashing with a piece of pipe or baseball bat. Sneaking around and taking down the WLF made me feel like Rambo taking out the Russians and I'm only a couple of hours in to the game yet. Can't wait to see how the story develops. I did hate the fact that there was too much LGBTQ in the storyline, about too much for my liking, but aside from that the visuals and graphics are eye candy for the eyes, it is a masterpiece that retains some of the charm from the first game and yet builds on it some more.     If you liked the first one...you should like this one too. It’s beautiful, polished, and emotional. I don’t really understand the hate on it. Not coming for anyone’s opinion who played the whole way through and didn’t like it...but to those who didn’t even give it a real chance...this low rating isn’t fair. Even if you didn’t like it...it’s not a 3.6. That’s obviously absurd.

I can't understand how many complain that Joel dies. Yes, he was a main character in the first part and he was also a good and fun team together with Ellie. It honestly hurt my heart when he died, but Ellie was the most important person in this game from the beginning. You live in a post apocalyptic world. there are almost never happy ends and you live with the idea that you could die every day. Joel left all of humanity in the first part just to save Ellie and I'm sure he knew that one day he would catch up with him. So please don't hate the game for that reason.… Expand

Lo que pasa es que a la generacion de cristal le picó el potito con los temas que trata la historia, pero es un excelente juego, que muestra la escencia de la humanidad.

    The graphics are amazing, Story is really good, the combat is a little more better than the first, while it would be nice if it was expanded a little more, the Characters seem pretty fleshed out and like the first game, it gives you back ground information about the world and characters around you. the Flaw may be with the AI's

    Game Thoughts:
    I will not Spoil anything about the game. The game does have mature visuals, reason its a 18 (mature) so if your not comfortable with that, then this game isn't really for you, if you love semi open areas to explore with amazing technical marvel graphics and gorgeous visuals then sure explore with your hearts content, spend more time exploring, get details of the back story just like the first one did, you can also find optional Scenes scattered around and talkative dialog here and there too, the game has a lot of good in it, the only Bad thing i would say honestly is the AI, its still not as good, but it is better than the first game, well the allied AI is. The Game has some sexual content in it, it is a 18 so of course its allowed, just sort of wish, in my opinion, the weed scene (no spoilers) was more intimate though, don't really mind scenes like this as long as its to expand on the Characters themselves and not just there for a 'SJW' or 'Woke' reason.

    Why My Score?
    Well simple, because Everything, in my opinion, is Really well made. The game looks and feels great and with some improvements the game could be a perfect game. Note, 10 doesn't mean it is perfect because there is never a perfect product. The final score am giving it just means i would recommend it to others and think it can be the best game of the year (so far).

    Edit: No game this amazing looking Deserves a 0 score, the graphics alone could give at least a 6, even if you hate the game you cant believe that it Deserves no score on how gorgeous it looks but most reviews I've seen rates it unfairly, slapping it with a bad score with no reason but a line, that is not a fair score, i personally rather see what people think about the whole game not the first hour of it and i rather be honest as possible when am Recommending games to others. The game doesn't have a online competitive mode, it doesn't have loot boxes and it doesn't have shady practices so its a win for me no matter how bad the story gets, its still an amazing looking game with really good single player aspects to it.    … Expand

The graphics, story, music/sound etc so far have been on point. Get over it, this is not the first time a significant character has passed in a game/movie/tv show. Understand the context of the game. Also, with regards to the main characters, what is it about them that threatens your manhood? We live in a woke world, for better or worse. You need to adapt. You're in for a rude awakening. This is 2020...

    I have been monitoring reviews. Reviews were posted within hours of the game release. No way someone could beat the game in under an hour unless they did some crazy speed run. People are just mad that a main character passed and the LGBTQ representation in the game.

    For those more level-headed, try the game out, you won't be disappointed. Buy the game, beat it, sell it on a third party site. You lose what 20 bucks for playing the game? I was skeptical buying the game because of all the leaks, but I am so glad I did.

    The first game was easily my favorite game but now...its officially my favorite series. Everything about this game, the story, the characters, the emotion. It was absolutely worth waiting 7 years for. Thank you Naughty Dog for making a game with such amazing and diverse characters. This game was everything i dreamed it to be and more.

In my point of view by showing Abby as the protagonist, I can see, feel her side. We love Joel, but we know that he killed many people, after all he made many enemies for all these years and at some point or time his death would come. The game shows how revenge can destroy the lives of everyone around you and the consequences. The story does not end well for anyone, as well as for someone who holds hatred in their hearts. For those who say this story was bad, it has to be someone without a modicum of interpretation. The game is not about revenge, but about empathy. This game is amazing.Thank you Naughty Dog!

    Don’t believe the ratings bombing! The game is fantastic! Ellie has grown in logical ways, and the other characters are well-rounded as well. Sure, the plot can be sad, depressing, and devastating, but it’s beautiful in its own way.

    Absolutely fantastic game. Great attention to detail and an amazing new area of America to explore. 10/10 imo
    And I still vote that the last of us 1 is the greatest game to ever release.

    And absolute classic arguably the game of the generation so many twist and turns you never new what was next or where the story was going. Plus dont get started with some of the perfectly timed jump scares.

    I created an account here for the sole purpose of giving this a great review (it deserves it, it's brilliant) and to say that it never ceases to amaze me how people feel entitled to get what they imagine in their head. Grow up, everyone. This is why we can't have nice things. (Also, any review that decries things like diversity should be basically treated like the dreck it is.)

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
