    Ultimate letdown of a game in the series that people loved and waited for 7 years. No upgrades in gameplay, unnecessary emphasis on LGBTQ, forcing the player to sympathize with the villain of the story, a very dissociated and weak storyline that pampers to a certain group of people, not caring about the real gamers and fans of the series.

    This game is absolute trash. I've loved every game from Naughtydog all the way back to Crash. This is the worst thing I've ever seen let alone paid for. They should offer refunds like movie theaters use to. Bait and switch.

    Cheap shock value, not independent and worst story, unrealistic or illogical reactions or dialogue and uncreative gameplay.
    Death is the only source of excitement.
    Stay away from this part II if you love the part I

    Gonna start off with mentioning what this game did well:

    Graphics - 10/10. Amazing. Not an expert but I can imagine this is about the best you can do with current generation of consoles. Not much to say here, simply breathtaking. Level design - 8/10. I think they could have done better at letting us explore the world more and hid more easter eggs, but overall most levels felt good to    Gonna start off with mentioning what this game did well:

    Level design - 8/10. I think they could have done better at letting us explore the world more and hid more easter eggs, but overall most levels felt good to play through and explore.
    Soundtrack - 8/10. It is really good and does a good job for setting your mood for particular levels and parts of the story, but I don't think it's as brilliant as in first game.
    Gameplay - 7/10. Again, it's good, but it's mostly the same as part 1. Don't get me wrong, gameplay in the first game is great, but I feel like they could have done much more in 2020.

    And now to the elephant in the room...

    Story - -100/10. The characters we know and love from first game are absolutely butchered and dumbed down for convenience and to be able to tell us a stupid story about revenge being bad. Only a handful of newly introduced characters are interesting. Most of them you never end up caring about, even though the game tries incredibly hard to make you empathise with them and love them. Characters do the most idiotic things to make the story Druckmann intended happen and kind of make sense, but it never ends up making any sense anyway.
    The first game left everything for the player's interpretation at the end. The second game forces a certain narrative without leaving any room for the players to speculate, even though a lot of things you find in the first game clearly dispute the narrative they push in part 2.

    Overall I think Niel Druckman has a huge ego problem and tried too hard to write a deep story, challenge people's morals and overcome the first game's writing, which was only good because Brice was here to keep his insane insecure leftie extrimist ideas in check, but ended up writing a piece of garbage that makes absolutely no sense and teaches you nothing, just leaves you sad and angry.

    If you loved the first game as much as I did, replayed it numerous times and have tons of warm and fuzzy feelings about it - DO NOT play this game. Just remember the first one for the masterpiece it is. This game throws everything that was good about the first one in the trash and destroys our favorite characters.

    I replayed The Last of Us about 7 times. Currently playing through remastered PS4 version again, trying to forget about the dumpster fire that the story of part 2 is. Never going to replay it.

Но игра сама по себе очень скучная, не очень хороший сюжет, и как по мне не очень хороший конец с моралью "Месть никуда не приведёт", при этом завалим очень много людей которые даже отношения к этому особо то и не имели.. Геймплей скучный, одни и те же убийства из укрытия, одна и тоже заросшая область почти всю игру... Плюс играть за Эбби было вообще сложно и делал я это через силу, и даже под конец я бы всё равно её убил! 4/10 максимум сколько могу дать этой игре.… Expand

    WOW what a ride! This game is incredible on every level. There are enough review bombs from disapointed fanboy/girls who either refuse to engage with the story for whatever reason, or are disapointed because the story isn't as 'simple' as it is in part one. I also understand that some of the characters actions may seem incongruous with what we think we understand about them. BUT SO WHAT!WOW what a ride! This game is incredible on every level. It's the closest you can get to being in a real graphic novel, which brings me to the story. It is there to serve the purpose of creating lots of interesting gameplay arenas. Just like the book that inspired the creation of The Last Of Us, City of Theives, each section or chapter is a device to create tension or excitement or wonder or horror or sadness. It's unlike anything else out there and should be celebrated as such. If you have a PS4 why are you even reading user reviews and not playing this right now?… Expand

Game is trying to make you feel compassion for whole Abby storyline. Its a great idea to show two sides of coin. Idea is great, but the way they did it really confuses me. I forced myself to play Abby part for this 10 hour. I let her be eaten by clickers around 80 times. If there was a way to kill her, i did it. I wish the scenario worked for me, but it didnt. I guess it is an evidence of the fact that game is poorly written. When game made me play Abby against Ellie, I simply didnt want to punch Ellie. How can i worry more about a boring grey character like abby more than Joel and Ellie who were main chracters in first game. TLOU2 had a great potential, but they screwed up. I dont knwo who to blame for this. I didnt raise the topic of absolute uninteresting new characters (Mel, Nora, Abby, Owen and other part og their wolf gang). Abundance of pregnancy ( zebra is pregnant - abby's father is good because he saved it, Ellie killed dozens of people, but when she kills Mel who is PREGNANT she gets shocked. Dina is pregnant and that affects Abby's choice. Third point, I dont have anything against LGBTQ and women overall but why mostly all women characters are shown form a good perspective (Abby is a good person at last, Leader of scars is good at last, leader of Jackson Marie is right about revenge etc) while male are shown from a bad side ( Joel is a selfish moron, Tommy cant leave the idea of revenge, leader of Wolves is a coldblood child killer). Fourth point is straight up lying in trailers ( shwoing that joel is alive and that they will have adventues in seattle). I put 0/10, because i think this game is overrated.     I really loved the gameplay, characters and especially the story. It was simply perfect to me, but my 0 goes for the crunch the naughty dog company. U can't treat like that to your employers just because u have no time, i hope that with a bad rating naughty could finally see that sometimes is worth to realease the game later just to make it better for the players and FOR THE EMPLOYS

I went into this expecting it to be as good or better than the first game, the graphics are great but the story is terrible and all the characters are **** the game forces you to like a new playable character that killed a character everyone liked in the first game (Joel) They try so hard to make you like this new character while trying to make you hate Ellie. The only thing good about Abby (new character) is her hand to hand combat. The pacing in this game is all over the place too, it takes ages for the game to even get interesting, it's mostly walking around doing nothing and this happens a lot throughout the game. Naughty Dog ruined this game Druckmann needs sacking, forcing LGBT agenda down peoples throat's in the middle of a zombie apocalypse, it does not fit in, the game is complete trash.… Expand

I didn’t wait 7 years to play as a character that killed someone so special. The way Joel died didn’t even make sense. Tommy wouldn’t just give up their names to random people. This completely ruined my two favorite characters of all time, and barely even touched on their relationship and forgiveness struggles. This game was a total disappointment. This is a bad game isn't because Joel got killed, or the way the storyline was organised. The point here is that all the characters are acting like someone else and Neil Druckmann just manipulated them to bring whatever story himself wanted in order to force all the players to accept his own values and to satisfy his own ego. All the social justice **** he put into this game just doesn't fit in the World of TLOU where all that matters is survival. The first game was a master piece because being putted in the same situation I would take the same choices just like Joel and Ellie, not like some Dolls of SJW. Also as Asian i don't feel funny when Ellie said she doesn't like Jesse just because he is a Asian, you won't joke around with black peoples like that. 7 years of waiting and all the hard works of the talented developers in Naughty Dog, all wasted because of Neil Druckmann.… Expand

    Really disliked the first game’s story, saw that a lot of fans of it hated the second so I decided to give it a try. Still sucks.
    Boring, filled with uninteresting and unlikable characters like the first one. Too long.
    Gameplay works so I migh have given it a 1 but it wasn’t fun. So 0.

    I literally made an account just to give this a zero. Don't believe the fake reviews. This game is absolute trash. I've never felt so empty after beating a game. No character development and everyone is in a far worse state at the end of the game. The only person that gets a good ending is the antagonist. Did they want the player to feel like **** after you beat it?!?

    Just made an account to rant here, this is the worst story telling ever in any piece of media, Neil Druckman and company should take as example on how to make the story work in tandem with the game design from Metal gear solid 3 or even master storytellers like Fincher or Spielberg.     This game lacks of SOUL.
    All the characters, even Ellie, are empty. You don’t feel bad for any of them. It seems like the Ellie of Pt1 is not the same person in the Pt2. Even Alice the dog had more soul than any of them. You’re getting to a point where a character’s death is worthless.
    Hated this game and I don’t even wanna talk about this (stupid?) end.

    Game play itself is alright. start to drag really hard toward the half end but acting and graphic save the day. HOWEVER, i just couldn't deal with all the moronic decisions characters make and narratives the dev tried to pull just to get to the end goal. It's sad, i was really looking forward to it :(

    First of all, I'm rating this game a 0 out of 10, so that fanboys don’t get to rate this game higher with their biased 10 out of 10s on here (people need to be warned, that this game is definitely NOT a must-play for all gamers).     Let’s start with the positives first. Amazing graphics (the best on the PS4 lifecycle so far; right next to God Of War and Red Dead Redemption 2), stellar sound effects and voice acting (the voice actors and the sound specialists did a fantastic job), solid gameplay (nothing innovative but fun nonetheless) and the gore in this game is off the charts (some of the most brutal executions and visuals that I can remember in recent gaming memory; on par with something like Manhunt).

    Let’s name the negatives now, which are shorter but WAY more impactful for a narrative-driven game like this: the story, the characters and Naughty Dogs weird handling of the marketing. The story is a jumbled mess of a revenge arc told so poorly, that it makes the player question every decision “they make” (freedom of choice might have actually helped here) throughout its roughly 25-hour campaign, whether it was intentional by the developers or not (which is not always a good thing). Basically all the old characters from the first game (Ellie, Joel, Tommy etc.) make some of the most questionable decisions throughout this game, they are either left dead or a broken mess and they absolutely don’t feel like the characters that we got to bond with in the absolutely perfectly-told first game. All the new characters get the spotlight this time around (like Abby, Dina or Owen) and while they are trying so hard for us to get sympathy with them, it just doesn’t work for all gamers because of either some questionable decisions made by them earlier or throughout the game or by them just being unlikeable to begin with. It is hard to feel sympathy or any kind of empathy for characters, that lack said qualities themselves (especially compared to our old characters from the first game). I feel like the writers had two lanes to go on with this story and the one that I was hoping for, which was a story revolving around the cure and how that action in the hospital would be told around as a tale in their world (basically them being on a hunt for Ellie, so that they can get said cure), Joel and Ellie discovering new places and going on a new journey with new and more interesting characters and stuff like that, but they went with something completely unexpected and, for me, something completely unnecessary. Revenge arcs are not all bad, but when said revenge and the motivation behind it are questionable, not admirable or just confusing to the player, they end up ruining the whole experience. To add on top of that, the story decides to jump around ALOT in between the timelines in the middle of the story (very reminiscent of The Witcher Season 1 on Netflix) and it ends up confusing the gamer and the story flow just gets really tiresome and boring, not even 3-4 hours into the game (the complete opposite of the first game, which was very good with its story flow and had great replay ability).

    By the way, the influx of more female main characters, a more dominant and muscular female character or the inclusion of LGBTQ relationships did not hurt the story in the slightest. They are not distracting, if you’re not bothered (for some reason) by any of these topics. What was distracting to me though, was the obvious false marketing made by Naughty Dog here. Certain characters, that you see in previous trailers, are not in seen cutscenes or gameplay sections in the final product. Whatever intention they had, this is an absolute no-go for any company, to try to falsely advertise characters for their game, that are not in said scenes at all.

    All in all, I think this game had MASSIVE potential and it ended up being a MASSIVE letdown, for me at least. There will/are definitely people, who'll enjoy this game but I'm sadly not a part of them and any future iteration of this franchise has lost any interest from one really big fan of the first game. While it’s not bad, you'd hope for a much bigger upgrade or overhaul of crafting and other gameplay mechanics, but many remained completely untouched. But the gameplay isn’t what causes this game to be a failure in my opinion, because that’s not what people really play TLOU for anyways. People play for the characters and story, which is nothing short of disappointing and misguided in this game. The utter lack of respect toward previous or even new characters prevents the player from getting invested in them, and the game fails to utilize the one relationship the player was already invested in going into the game. Instead they demolish that relationship, and never really show it getting back to anything of what it used to be. Most other characters in this game are stagnant and replaceable, and while they have good performances, fail to make me care about them in a meaningful way. That is, until they get brutally murdered on a quest for revenge. By the end of the game I was so numb to violence nothing shocked me anymore, and I’m not sure what the game was even trying to say through all this violence and misery. What I do know is that I feel devastated for Ellie and deep hatred for another character. I truly hope Naughty Dog lets this franchise die in the pit they dug for it. I absolutely loved the first game, but this train wreck wants me to feel depressed for nothing. Some of the lessons it tries to teach seem so stupidly simple I asked myself if I was even hearing it right. All I can hear now is the ringing in my ears after listening to one of my favorite games get pillaged and massacred in the name of “Subverted Expectations”. Do not recommend. Collapse    … Expand

    Horrible. Historia vacía, sin desarrollo de los personajes. Mala narrativa. Guión incoherente. Nada que ver con la primera parte. Es mal juego porque, siendo la campaña el punto fuerte de esta saga, no cumple con su cometido; es demás decir que no contiene multijugador. Recomiendo comprar de segunda mano y luego revenderlo (si es que alguien aún lo quiere comprar).

    This game gets way more hate then I think it deserves. I'm not a very good reviewer but I enjoyed playing the game. I think if you take a minute to see things in Abby's point of view, you really understand her intentions. Its different from the first game but in a good way.

    The story doesn’t make any sense at all. Let’s look at characters, so much conflicts:
    Tommy: after Joel died he tried to stop Ellie, and went after the group himself to protect Ellie, but no, later towards the end he showed up all angry and encouraged Ellie to go after Abby all by herself Ellie: kill hundreds to just spare Abby
    Abby’s Dad: what a lovely caring person saving a Zebra in the forest, then 2 seconds later he insisted to murder Ellie, won’t listen otherwise Abby and Owen, I really don’t know their story, why they broke up? Why they back together?
    Ending: when Ellie decided to kill Abby, she didn’t just shoot her? Abby shot Joel in surprise right after Joel saved her, so she deserve a fair fight? Besides, how could Ellie think she could take Abby down with her bare hands? She already been beaten twice before, why she think she can win this time with a very bad injury? All just doesn’t make sense. I try to like it, but I can’t , Because, I’m not stupid. Thanks for ruining the last of us, well done.    … Expand

Avoid spending your hard earned money for what becomes a pointless and frustrating game in the end. Si bien el gameplay sigue intacto, me da pena el desenlace de Joel, la historia pobrisima, los personajes nuevos con nulo carisma, los anteriores siendo arruinados tomando decisiones y diciendo diálogos que no van acordé al personaje. Podría estar todo el día diciendo las cosas que fueron decepcionantes, el mensaje político es lindo, estaría perfecto si tuviera algún propósito de existir y este no prime por sobre la coherencia y el sentido de la Historia, no es incluir porque si, sino con un propósito.… Expand
