    A game in which I had high expectations for the first part, it was one of my favorite games. The simple story of a simple revenge, overly large areas to explore being a linear game to get 4 resources and the over-inclusiveness makes it a very boring game. I am sad that they destroyed a saga that could be unforgettable in a good way.

    I was hoping the game was going to be as good as the previous game however that wasn't going to be the case. At first I tried to avoid the leaks but I couldn't help to look at them and I wasn't happy with the outcome but, I said to myself that maybe there not like that in the game not only where they in the game but, they were worse.     Awful story which destroys any pleasure that you could have playing this game. Repetitive game play with almost all of the game play mechanics taken from the previous game.

    Four years ago I read an article at 3AM about The Last of Us 2 officially beginning development. Because it was 3AM, I fell asleep shortly after and quickly forgot about it. Two years later, trailers began to appear in my YouTube recommendations and I watched them as well as the E3 demo. The game was expected to come out later that year, and so naturally I bought a PS4 because of just howFour years ago I read an article at 3AM about The Last of Us 2 officially beginning development. Because it was 3AM, I fell asleep shortly after and quickly forgot about it. Two years later, trailers began to appear in my YouTube recommendations and I watched them as well as the E3 demo. The game was expected to come out later that year, and so naturally I bought a PS4 because of just how much I loved the first game on PS3. The game is delayed again. For two years I waited, buying other games for my new system just to keep me occupied while I anticipated the eventual release of the sequel to the possibly most legendary story driven game of all time. I waited through the delays. I waited through everything. Then, a mere few months before the game's official release in 2020, a Naughty Dog dev angry with his or her working conditions leaks the plot of the game. Eventually this information makes its way to me, and I as well as many others begin questioning whether or not this game is actually all its been chalked up to be as not only did these leaks completely contradict the trailers and advertisements, but they also made the game's story sound like a needlessly contrived mess - something not good for a game intended to put so much focus upon the story. Despite these leaks, I and many others pressed on in the hopes that either these leaks were false, or that somehow the game would make up for it. Fast forward to June 19th, 2020. The game is finally released, and I - having been waiting two years for it - buy it day one. And I couldn't have been more disappointed. The graphics and sound design were lovely and the gameplay was acceptable, but the story from the beginning to the very end was the most upsetting and infuriating experience I have ever had in recent video game history. This game's advertising promised great things - things so great that it was the entire reason I bought a PS4 initially. And it failed to deliver on almost every single one of them. After playing through this game and having successfully gotten through this awfully contrived story, I am now broken and disturbed. I cannot sleep. I am barely eating. And I've lost hope in the entire medium and industry as a whole. But at the same time, there is a little bit of light at the end of this dark, cold, and lonely tunnel.
    Because if Neil Druckmann is allowed to keep his job while writing god awful stories like this, getting high ratings and praise from critics despite having basically confessed in Tweets and podcasts that he set out intentionally to make a divisive game with a story most fans would hate... Then surely even I could reach his level of influence and power by writing stories much better than this one. All in all, this is something that has bothering me for quite some time now ever since I completed the game shortly after its release, and I've been longing for an opportunity to get this off of my chest and saw the review section as an excellent way to do so, seeing as that's its purpose. I deliberately avoided mentioning any spoilers so as not to ruin it for anyone interested in buying the game, but for the sake of your own mental and even physical health... I implore you not to. AND what do i get a story about somone I didnt even know existed in the first place and the death of the best charecter in the series in the most horrible and shameful way possible considring his 25 YEARS of experience through the apocalypse. So yeah i gave it a zreo cause somone who wanted the game to look like GOT by killing the best charecters or making them brain dead and useless. So dont play the game if you liked the first one or cherished the relationship and dynamic between the characters cause it goes down hill in the second. Forgot to metion i wanted a refund as soon as i knew about waht happend in the game through livestreams and YouTube videos and i didnt get it then i played the game for the SOLE purpose of killing abby and didnt even get that.     obviously killing joel and bringing in a freak character + that totally unneeded shoving obscure lgbt stuff down my throat makes me give a zero score. I just wanted to play a game! Get it?

    graphics and the gameplay is mostly okay though and if you can ignore that freaky sexual stuff, then go ahead.

    all the puzzles are WAY TOO EASY to solve, everything is served to you on the gold platter. mostly looking around in the same or adjacent room is more than enough to find the final clue.

    very annoying is the way ai works, all the enemies stroll on the same route, they are too predictable and the co-character always gets in my way when exploring rooms/areas or when hiding behind obstacles to attack enemies. the other character get on my way ALL THE FREAKING TIME.

    Also, too many cutscenes. TOO MANY!!! at the end of the first chapter, there are 4 cutscenes in a row, that's annoying, to say the least.

    i played it through and was hoping i can then select individual chapters and collect all the missing stuff, but as it turns out... at first all chapters were available and i started re-playing the first chapter, it then fookin thought it was a good idea to again hide all the rest of the chapters and now i have to play the whole game, all chapters in the original order again, to get 100% of the game. WTF, how did that happen? I did not do anything strange, After completing the game, I chose Story > Chapters > saw that all the chapters were playable > opened the first chapter > played it a bit > went back to main menu to choose another chapter and ... WHAM... only the first chapter Is playable.    … Expand

Then right when you're about to get revenge for Ellie you switch and play as the villain. It is incredibly boring and you feel the next 10 hours of gameplay be just a chore.     Poor writing. The story is too choppy and changes pace too often. Got to the end and thought "why did i even waste my time and money playing this game". Game play was good but the story was far from that. I should've gotten TLOU Remastered for my PS4 instead of TLOU 2. I am beyond let down.

    If there were a minus degree then i would've chosen it, because this game was ruined and has nothing to do with the original story. Don't get fooled by the critics ratings, they only recommended it since their work is somehow like **** work.

    Juego totalmente arruinado por la historia.. buenos gráficos y buena jugabilidad, pero no se le puede dar otra puntuación que un 0 por destrozar una obra maestra. Los que lo tengáis que jugar esperaros a que valga 5 euros por que no merece la pena llevarse esta decepción por lo que vale ahora.

    Game was overhyped to the extreme. Story isn't anything special, dragged on for long periods of time, gameplay wasn't anything special, and the so-called twists in the plot where both predictable and typical. Not worth the $60 and any critic who gives it 10/10 is clearly doing it for Political reasons and not the actual game itself.

    Sad to say that the game was not good. Do not dismiss all the critical reviews to bigotry or simple bombing. The game has obvious flaws in the story it tries to tell and as a narratively driven game this is a big issue. By the end of the game you will most likely not care for any of the characters in it as they just come off bland and depressing as a DCU live action movie.

So disappointed with The whole agenda along with Production and investors who believe this game will make money or rather kill hope of real gamers.     Don’t waste your money, if you love last of us part 1. Story is all about deaths and There are no meaning of deaths. I wish I couldn’t play this game. Director have told “part 2 subject is hate” It is not about hate because part 2 has a poor story. I did not enjoy. Bad story is for me. Good game, if you kill someone.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. SPOILERS. People are trying to say 'You're SUPPOSED to hate playing as Abby!', 'You're SUPPOSED to hate fighting Ellie'.. So they make parts of a game that we are supposed to hate and then are surprised we hate it? I was sad at what happened with Joel, sure, but it was not surprising. A main character dying is not a surprise (its been done, a lot). I was expecting it in part I, was pleasantly surprised he survived. Now it's 'Don't you know these characters are flawed?'... Yeah, Joel basically doomed humanity in game one, you are not amazing for realising he isn't perfect. GTA you play as a sadistic murderer. You don't wish you were playing as a cop. Amazingly, I didn't care about Abby's journey, because I didn't come back for her. Want a new story? Make a new game. I wanted all Ellie's journey. The people we came back for, having played the first game. New games have been made with side characters that are awesome - Chloe in Uncharted standalone game? Awesome. But they don't force it upon you, especially when that character murders the person you spent the entire first game bonding with and understanding. But considering game one was NOT done in irritating constant flashbacks, but was linear in its timeline, and only did character changes when the other main character was out of commission, it made sense. As Ellie, I was exploring everything, I was checking everything, because I was rooting for her. I wanted her and Dina to succeed in what they set out to do. I was worried for them. I wanted them to get home together. I wanted her to have the best weapons and gear. As Abby, I raced through every aspect of it, because I didn't care. I knew I didn't want her to survive! And that means I didn't care about most of the game. And in the end, there was literally no satisfaction.… Expand

    Playing for Abby and trying to kill Ellie was a point when I turned the game off and felt deceived by Neil who was chasing his ego or whatever. Awful. Wish I red the spoilers and never preordered.

    I did not like it at all, a very forced and inconsistent story, the mechanics of the game are not a big deal. I expected much more from this title but I must say that there was a very bad approach in this part that totally disrespects the first installment.

While there were a few genuinely good moments, majority of game filled up with plot holes. It just took elements of what worked for the first game without understanding what made them compelling.

Actually now that I think about it when I was 5 I was coming up with way better stories then just “You killed my father prepare to die” ... did Neil druckman watch princess bride and say “yea... this Diego Montoya guy gets it...” lol. I mean princess bride did that because it was incredibly cheesy and stereotypical and because of that it’s a comedy... and a damn good one too... TLOU2 was supposed to be a drama... Shakespeare would be rolling in his grave for mixing these two concepts. (Besides, when I was a kid playing with the army men. My protagonist actually killed the guy who killed his father... He didn’t Pu$$¥ out at the last second like in TLOU2 LolZ. What Terrible terrible writing... ) I’m legit worried about the HBO tv show cuz druckman is directing that too... can someone fire him off it and invite in the actual original creator and writer of the first TLOU? She actually knows how to captivate an audience for a decade.… Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
