This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I just want to preface this by stating that I had little issue with any political ideals or anything like that. I know a lot of people are going out of their way to dismiss all low reviews as bigotry, but this certainly not the case with this review. My issues were solely with what will be discussed below.

    First what I liked:
-Overall gameplay is relatively unchanged from the first game for better or worse. There are some additional movement features and the ability to go prone but otherwise there is not much more depth than last time. If you enjoyed the core gameplay of the first game then you will probably at least enjoy that aspect of the game.

    - The graphics are certainly impressive on par with that of other first party Sony titles. Some of the skyboxes were breathtaking.

-Small interactions with the environment that added extra storytelling. Like being able to play the guitar or playing fetch with the dog are nice little slice of life segments that at least bring some light to the utter darkness that is the story.

-Dina was a well written and fleshed out character who stood out among the rest of the new cast.

    What I did not like:

-The story. Wow. I don't even know where to start? If the main reason you enjoyed the first game was the dynamic between Joel and Ellie then stay as far away from this title as possible. The actions that are made by them 90% of the time are so completely out of character it is mind boggling. Joel telling his name to a group of random strangers? Ellie killing a dog and then berating the dead dog while looking at its corpse? Enough to make your stomach churn to be quite frank and that is really just the tip of the iceberg.

-The new cast aside from Dina were either forgettable or insufferable. The only one that really needs to be talked about is Abby. All the qualities that made Joel and Ellie likable from the first game are completely absent with Abby. Abby is extremely selfish and rarely does she ever make a choice that is not in her own interests. The narrative constantly tries to paint her in a positive light yet her actions are perceived completely different by the player. I think a lot of this is due to the fact that when trying to paint Abby in a positive light they constantly tried to do the opposite to Ellie to force changes in perception.

-The ending is an extremely unsatisfying bait and switch that leaves the player confused by Ellie's actions or should I say non-action. The whole plot of the game was about how revenge is bad yet Abby got her revenge and is in a better place for it. Ellie tried getting her revenge and decides not to at the end and her life is now in shambles. If the message was "revenge is bad" then I just don't see how that was translated in an effective manner.

In conclusion I can't help but feel that the writer feels a disconnect or sizeable dislike with the main protagonists of his established work. After Joel's demise in what was essentially the tutorial I could have already surmised that the author did not like the protagonist, but the author takes this to another level and actually inserts a detailed depiction of themselves spitting on the corpse of the character which left me to wonder what caused such a hatred for one's creation? Was it merely just for shock value? If so that seemed more amateurish than self-inserting in your own work of fiction. Regardless I will certainly be hesitant to invest time, money, or emotion on a Naughty Dog product ever again and I will certainly never touch a work of Neil Druckmann's again as long as I exist. Not due to any kind of political issues, because to be quite frank Neil and I probably agree across the board on every political issue, but because I believe he is an absolute abysmal storyteller who does not truly care about the worlds or characters he is responsible for.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game destroyed my heart. It ruined the characters, it made them non traditional to put it politically correct. Naughty Dog ruined the experience we enjoyed in the first game, this game was by far the worst game ever to experience. Just because it has very realistic graphics, it would ever make me by default enjoy the game. The story is disgusting, the characters were ruined, the experience was horrible. Naughty dog is trying to be abstract and different but neglecting what the fans want and what they enjoyed previously is Naughty dogs downfall. Appeasing the lgbt community and trying to win praise from them is why Naughty Dog destroyed a game franchise we loved. If there is one word that describes this game is disgusting! From all angles! Hiya!
I know that some people may come to here to find out if the game is worth playing. And to see most of it just be review bombing may be disappointed. So if you're looking to find out, go ahead and give mine a read.

I'll make it very clear that i HAVE NOT PLAYED IT. However, i know what i've seen from the leaks from before release, and these are my first impressions on the game, what it does, and if it's worth it.

To put it short- no. I don't think it is. But, why? Well, let me explain.

I can't speak for the story of the first one- but i get the vibe that it was generally unforgiving, yet held some positive themes, mainly Joel and Ellie's relationship, having someone to care about and protect in a situation like that. At the end of the day, it was unforgiving, but seemed like it had some feel good parts.

2 doesn't have any of that. But that substance isn't placed anywhere else, either. Any enjoyment or any proper theming seems completely lost, in favor of a thin veil of progressiveness that barely, if at all, covers the fact that this game exists for nothing but to revel in the same gratuitous violence that the rest of the industry does, whilst also getting to insult their players.

I'm not usually the Anti-SJW kind- in fact, i'm typically the complete opposite, I'm INCREDIBLY liberal, in fact. However, that just means that i can tell you for a god damned fact that there isn't a message or a theme here. It's violence. Violence and pain without end- that's what this game exists for. If it was about teaching the impacts of violence, and involved some kind of conscience, it could have easily gone the route of, say, Undertale- giving you the option to do the right thing and rewarding you for not being a violent and murderous lil **** Rewarding you for doing the right thing is infinitely better than punishing you for NOT doing so- yet TLOU2 does only the latter.

It had any number of ways to confront this issue, and yet chose only the most basic and effortless way to do so, almost as if they had no care for the issue they were portraying. Which is exactly the truth.

On the progressive front, i've heard people- like Rich, of ReviewtechUSA- complimenting the game's inclusivity. When frankly, that couldn't be further from the truth. Naughty Dog was clearly so blindsided by the money that they could have been making, that they literally ballsed up the entire operation. You wanna know how? They wanted to give the game some kind of trans inclusivity. How did they do that? By making ALL the women ugly, so that the trans women could see themselves fitting in there. I- Uh, Naughty Dog, coming from a trans person, do you realise by doing that you're just calling ALL trans people ugly? You know, the exact opposite of your goal? Kinda a stupid move there, guys. Just sayin'.

At the end of the day, from an outsider's perspective, someone who really didn't have a bias for or against the TLOU series, TLOU2 is honestly a crash course in corporate greed. What was once a labour of love and a series that had passion and care put into it, which gave it the massive, adoring fanbase it had, is now no different to any other AAA game series- revelling in excessive violence for the sake of excessive violence, and pandering to people in the worst, most badly thought out and most CLEARLY INGENUINE way.

Again, this is an outsider's perspective. You may **** LOVE the game. You may also love sadomasochism, i can't judge!
But, whereas the original had some spark there that, looking back, might have made it worth playing, TLOU2 has nothing. It actively insults the people it tries to support, and indulges itself in the industry's love of blood and gore for no other reason than blood and gore and pain. It exists to exploit minorities by """""supporting""""" them, and for the sake of money, indulges itself in the exact problems with the industry it claims to be 'confronting'.

TLOU2 is, from my perspective, a crash course in the downfall of a developer, thanks to corporate greed.

However, i can't give it, like, a 3 or a 0 like most others have- because it has things going for it still. The gameplay looks somewhat fun, if a little uninspired like every other survival horror zombie-based game. But, i can't say it looks bad.
The game, on top of that, seems stable. It's not a broken mess like some of the WORST games i've played. Though, that SHOULD be the normal expectation but for a mess that was likely rushed and DEFINITELY not thought out in the least, it's a surprise, to say the least [of us].
The graphics are absolutely incredible as well. If nothing else, there WAS some kind of care put into that, even if the animations can look a little janky at times [we all know the meme i mean].

It's not the WORST game ever. But it 100% lacks any kind of spark and passion and is a clear display of a developer dropping to their knees, all for the sake of hitting that green.

Unfortunately, those can't be worth more than 2 in a game where gameplay is repetitive and the story does not keep you engaged and most of all, does not, and I can't emphasize this enough - does NOT respect the time and heart you poured into the first game. As a player, if you loved The Last of Us like I did, cried with it, had long discussions with friends about human nature like I did, cherished it, and replayed it just to be with the characters a little while longer, you don't deserve this game. You wish to have at least a couple of good scenes(Fights too) with joel but no he is just gone right away. Mindfck Number 1! You start the game by petting a dog and then you have to cut the dogs guts to get past a section at first quarter (yes you can still go stealth and not kill them but come on, no one can do that at first playing). Your horse (shimmer) just f* explodes. Mindfck Number 2!

Imagine getting over these things in couple of scenes. Just as you are focusing again and halfway trough you are doing good. Suddenly you are playing as the villain characther (Not to mention seeing her flashbacks without knowing her makes it reaaly hard to understand how she got to joel at first place.) Before you get time to just understand the situation comes 2 random kids. Abby doesnt kill them and helps them thats ok( which i think the forest part and the whole med search part was just time filler and totally unnecesary). But why would you then start to fight with both sides??? (With both scars and wolwes, in scar village scenes stealth was optional but she kills them rather then like, knock them out)

And after all that you come face to face with ellie in a COMBAT, like wtf is happening. After the fight Abby just lets ellie live, hmmm. Fast forwarding they live in a farmhouse with her girlfriend-baby (btw that baby can talk????!?!?) and ellie has no idea about abbys past and her dad. And still wants revenge on her. Just to not kill her but to save her ...

It took everything the first game did so well and made it even better. Dynamic levels, beautiful scenery, environmental storytelling, rewarding exploration, flawless voice acting, brutal combat, logical stealth—this game has it all and more. This game handles stealth so much better than the first with the implementation of a stealth skill tree and prone movement and grass and crawl spaces. There are many paths through each level, accommodating multiple different play styles. The gameplay of TLOU2 far exceeds the first one.
What about the story? This is a revenge story first and foremost, but it does it in an interesting and not as cliche as you might think way. I won’t go into detail, but with the believable and well written characters, the story in this one is just as good as the first one.
Let’s talk about the elephant in the room. Yes, this game features a prominent lesbian couple. Yes, you play as a young female who is either gay or bi (not made clear as of 12 hours into the story). However, this relationship feels organic and real, it feels like a relationship between two young women struggling to survive in a brutal world. If you have issues with seeing two young women engage in a romantic relationship, then this is an issue within yourself and not within the game. I also want to address the notion of “forced diversity” in this game. I just don’t get it. America is not made up of just straight white men and women. The majority of this game takes place in Seattle, in which it makes sense to find large populations of non-white people. It makes sense to see reasonable amounts of non-straight people. So far in the game the only gay people I’ve seen are the main couple (Ellie and Dina) and a random guard talking about her girlfriend. This game has no social agenda that it’s trying to shove down your face - it’s simply creating an immersive and realistic world space. If you don’t like that then again, the problem is with you and not the game.
Overall, this game is the most immersive, beautiful, and captivating game I’ve ever played. There’s a reason why the critics say 95/100, I implore you to experience this masterpiece for yourself.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Jesus, man. This was one of the most hyped up games of the last several years and it comes out like this. As one could easily assess, a majority of the hate comes from the very questionable plot choices and the shift in tone from the original game. I am unsure what the developers were going for when writing this thing. Let me try and mention some points that haven't been said already.

One argument I have read is that it was completely contradictory for Joel to say his real name to Abby's group based on how careful he was in the first game. However, I still believe that he would have been screwed regardless since there was a good chance that Abby would've brutally tortured Joel and Tommy for information. She only let Ellie go free because she got her target, but if Joel did not reveal his name, there is a good chance that all three of them (Joel, Tommy, and Ellie) would've been killed for risk of warning the settlement. However, that still doesn't excuse the dog crap storyline.

Secondly, the people who are hating on this game for its political agendas are completely justified. Look, I have no issue with LGBT characters in media, but man they really shove it down your throat in this one. This is the equivalent of that one white kid in social media that won't stop spamming Black Lives Matter. I have the right to be uncomfortable by what I see on my tv screen. Looking at Abby's ripped physique is not only unsettling, but also unrealistic. It started to feel like I was playing a porn parody instead of a game. All I'm saying is that developers need to think about the demographics of they're audience. For videogames, it's most likely gonna be straight males. And men don't want buff women and lesbian antics, they want Joel.

In the end, without a quality story, TLOU2 isn't enjoyable to play. The game is nothing but a hollow husk of its predecessor. Druckmann himself said the game wasn't supposed be fun. Instead he used the word "engaging" to describe it. So i guess I'll "engage" in the fact that Cyberpunk 2077 now has a good chance of getting Game of the Year.

You may or may not like the absurd amount of Progressive elements and "Look good with minorities" in this game, but, the plot of it is completely Trash. I can't believe they've ruined my favorite franchise. Incredibly disappointing. I have cried with the first, yes, I have felt all the emotions with a game and I will always admit it, because TLOU 1 is a Legacy in terms of Plot.

Graphics - 10 - An absolutely good job for the environment design guys
Gameplay - 8 - Normal, but quite fun, it was good but I expected something else
Sound - 10 - Very good job for the Sound team
Performance - 10 - Deserved applause for the team that takes care of this

And this is the best thing you have ... From here everything is downhill

History - 3. The first 2 hours were good, rest, damn it is absurd and bad
Characters - 3 - I was expecting better development in character writing, or at least reaching the TLOU level 1
Plot - 2 - A plot about revenge can be very convincing, we have perfect examples in the industry, but this plot, far from convincing you, leaves you with more doubts and in the end is crap
Characteres - 3 - Really after having a lousy story and characters that you forget about them in 24 hours, do you expect the plot to be good? Bad, pretty poor

Summary: 4/10. The plot and the story brings the game to life, it seems to me that in this they forgot about it.
    Online can be very fun.
Recommended if only if you like apocalyptic environments and take screens.

As soon as content is added or removed to any media device, in this case, a game, to appease a certain demographic, that piece of media fails. The community wants good gameplay and goof story above all else. Forcing “certain things” down our throats in a way that’s so obvious you’re just trying to send a message is a sure fire way to kill your fan base.

Pros: In graphic aspects the game is stunning, an absolute piece of art from the most small details like a simple rope/ cord to the absolute complexity of the weather and the effects that produce in the areas. The game is shocking with some minor bugs that shows up from time to time. But besides the art is beyond expectations. Kudos to everyone that worked in that aspect, my respect.Pros: In graphic aspects the game is stunning, an absolute piece of art from the most small details like a simple rope/ cord to the absolute complexity of the weather and the effects that produce in the areas. The game is shocking with some minor bugs that shows up from time to time. But besides the art is beyond expectations. Kudos to everyone that worked in that aspect, my respect.

Cons: Doing a list during my play through, I decided to enumerated at the end from lesser to top cons.

    1. the level design, if is well deliver that feeling of open world after a few minutes exploring the area becomes actually very small with a lot of "exploration rooms" where you will find a forgotten note, material or a bullet. Basically all the levels are pretty linear and the game doesn't take the effort to at least dissimulate.

    2. characters: without counting for Ellie, Tommy or Joel for coming already from the first part, the rest of the characters are completely forgettable, with plain reason and actions that most of the time you will notice doesn't have sense. Introductions seems forced and the moments when they are cooperating with Ellie is just basically, you can take it off of the gameplay making a solo adventure and will not feel different.

    3. the story and dialogues, from cheesy lines that seems take it from a fan fiction forum to the whole story happening in the game. Contradiction actions to the personality of players and "forgettable" moments when the character say something to do something completely opposite 5 minutes later and the dialogues are "fine, nothing, good." The whole story is filled with holes, lame excuses and forced topics.
and 4 (and the worst in my opinion), the length of the game is 22-25 hrs plus for a game that could basically wrap everything in much much less. Unnecessary cut scenes and stealth moments that you basically going to say **** it" and cross from point A to B to trigger the next cut scene. Because is unnecessary long.

I wouldn't recommend it to buy it. If the game was in offer, I will think about it because only for the graphics, physics, art, etc is a solid 10. From the point of view of characters, dialogues, story, puzzles, etc. A solid 0

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Last of Us 1 was (and still is, I guess) my favourite game of all time. Not for the gameplay mechanics, but for the characters.

The original story of Joel and Ellie felt so f-ing real to me that I fell in love with this duo at first sight. Don't want to sound like crazy, but Joel really became some sort of a father figure to me. I replayed the original game dozen of times and I was so-so happy when the sequel was announced.

And now I just... I feel like I was betrayed by someone really close and the whole world tries to justify this by saying "You just mad at the writers for killing off your favourite character! You are not smart enough to understand the narrative reasons for all of this!"

People defend this game and say that it is genius writing, but actually it is just a bunch of cheap twists and bad storytelling. Characters are completely butchered and even the main message of the story is not just confusing, but completely meaningless. Neil Druckman hurt himself in confusion while writing this game.

Words cannot properly express how deeply disappointed I am with this game. I thoroughly enjoyed the last one, and I'd dare to say it was one of my top ten favourite games on the PlayStation 3. The writing in this game is an affront to storytelling akin to GOT season 8, the circumstances that lead to Joel's death in the first hour are so far out of character for him its not even funny. Then you spend the whole game absolutely despising abby, waiting for the chance to kill her was the only thing that kept me going. Then you get to the end and you don't even get to kill the **** because the game forces you to spare her out of some sort of misguided idea of what Joel would have wanted. Pretty sure Joel from TLOU would have been fine with you murdering the 'women' who beat his **** head in with a golf club as a reward to him for saving her life. I haven't finished all parts of this game and so far the only good thing I can think about this game is its graphics. The story line is so poorly designed and filled with those political correct craps. I want to remind naughty dogs that we, the players, are here to enjoy the game plays, not listening to those LGBTQ staffs. If I want to learn something politically correct I would go ahead register a social science or gender study class in college. It's not like I hate the LGBTQ groups; I support and understand their needs. However, I just don't want the gaming industries be an other area filled with these meaningless witch hunts. The plot in this game, at least in my opinion, is not designed for us to enjoy, but a combination of political correctness and logicial confusion in order to show the seemingly support to those people. When I was playing this game (until this period), I always wondering why is Ellie doing something like that? It's just stupid.
Also, what's more absetting me is all the complements this one got from the gaming critics. All of those 10/10 scores is another example of fake media. Why would you guys give out a full score to a game which is not even fun or enjoyable to play with? I used to think IGN Japan has done something wrong with the 7/10, but know it proves how good and righteousness they are. This game should be a 2/10 instead of any other scores.
In short, I am so disappointed by this game and it not even worth my 7 years of waiting. To anyone who is reading this, this game doesn't worth spending money on, I would rather throw my money in GTA.

She became a man for the sake of a dream to take revenge and turn everything back, for the sake of the salvation of mankind and the memory of her mother. Maybe this Joel broke everything? He stole the life of millions for the sake of Ellie, which he imagines his? No, wasn’t that all? He saved one by exchanging billions of people for their lives. He killed many, including doctors - hope. Is it hard to do the right thing? But here it’s not up to the twisting of hands, morality is all ...
Everything was hypertrophied, well, that's the author’s work
As a result, all the right sides lost everything. And friends and family and the future. And in the end they remained with their own, BUT alone
Ellie is shown on the female side, do not laugh, just the woman also wants to be strong, almost like a man, but almost. In the end, she surrenders, recognizes her weakness, and manifests her feminine component
As a result, a mishmash of images where boys and girls are confused. I didn’t like it
And there is no hatred there, you are wrong. It's just a plot

Technical 5/5: nothing to say here, simply a technical masterpiece
Story 0/5 inconsistent narrative with poor choices, LOU II is the perfect example of how important story is for game, even with jaw dropping visuals. The reviews that compare the story to the last season of game of thrones and the latest star wars trilogy are totally correct, very inconsistent plot i rather convenient twists that betray the original nature of characters, new characters are not likable at all, and you really don't care for what happens to them. The deuteragonist concept is a really interesting one but to pull it off effectively you need way more than what was invested on abby who is just evil. Finally, the revenge is bad theme is extremely cliche, there are portions of the game where it seems over extended, forcefully running on an on around the same saturated premise. Gameplay 3/5: jumping and open levels add depth but gunplay is still blunt and abby's character punching zombies to death is a premise very well fitting for zombieland or shaun of the dead. Having to play as Abby (the director's beloved abomination) is uncalled for and in contrast to ellie and joel they seem to force you to like her through any means possible, this creates a portion of the game i didn't enjoy at all. i would like to state that i consider TLOU as one of the best video games ever made (if not the best). It is thia what brought me to play the game even after the leak scandal and the despicable attitude of an egocentric director towards those he supposedly works for.

I avoided the leak and was mad that people did that but now I know they were trying to do us all a favor. Naughty Dog wanted to make you feel the rage and vengeance but it just makes you feel that for the developers and writer. I don’t know how a top tier studio put out this game. It makes me mad at the entire Sony and PlayStation brand. How did Jim Ryan, Evan Wells, Hurst, Layden, hear this story and not put the brakes on it? It’s very clear Druckmann needed Bruce Stanley. It’s like George Lucas unchecked, he can’t write at all. It’s like Star Wars The Phantom Menace all over again and shockingly much worse.

I am so appalled and hurt by TLOU Part 2. I as a person who has owned every PlayStation, I want to throw my PS4 Pro out the window. I don’t want to but the only way I know how to show them how wrong this was is to speak with my wallet. I won’t buy a Naughty Dog game ever again. I don’t even want to get the PS5 now. When Druckmann said he wasn’t sure about continuing the story but felt like they had a story that lived up to the original he lied. I trusted him. I wish June 19th never happened. If “Outbreak Day” is the day the world fell to pieces, June 19, 2020 is the day a great studio and brand died. Sony and PlayStation lost a fan who was with them from the beginning. I’m so heartbroken.
