    I can`t believe smn like this game. The story is flat, the characters are stupid, the gameplay is boring. It`s just overhiped rubbish, sorry, but this was the worst money spending of the year.

The relationships presented to us in the last of us part 2 are already established, with no back story for these new relationships and characters. The first one was basically only building relationships. The second one had a lot of meaningless death and brutality for no reason. Сама игра настолько парашная что хоть сейчас иди и говном мажся. Кто-то хвалит графон? ахренеть а вы не думали что это блин 3А класса и тут по дефолту супер графон.     The gameplay and story were both terrible. I couldn't wait for it to end and when I finally finished it, I sold it immediately. Biggest disappointment in years. And no, it has nothing to do with politics. It's just an awful game on its own.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. What's the point of all this? What are we left with? The plotline is stupid, the only outcome is some people dead. It was cool to show the problem from different perspectives, to make the need to kill Abby not black or white, but all that the creators achieved is my compassion and love to Abby and a strong need to kill that teenage brat Ellie as soon as possible. By going into retrospective mode you give the plotline a wider meaning, but a retrospective of the whole game from Abby's point of view makes you bored and the problem is you already know she's gonna survive since well, it's a retrospective. You know who lives and who dies for 59% of the game. The seraphins? Just a pothole filler. No need for them in the game. Wasted potential of a cult. It exists and dont ask questions. Did Abby seriously not kill Ellie because a child was sad looking at it? Why did nobody die at the end? They've killed so many characters that I became immune to care about any of them. The games mechanics is pretty much the same as in previous part but that's ok - we play Naughty Dog productions for plot. Which sucks. There's too many stupid encounters. You kill 20 people jump out of the window and there's 20 again. After Abby's day 2 I started to not care and just run. What's the point of dogs or arrows stuck in players body? They came up in maybe two scenes just to irritate the heck out of me and be gone. How come Ellie can kill a clicker silently no probs and the Arnold/Abbie NEEDS A GOD DAMN SHIV?! Why change mechanics for different characters? I'm pissed off because of the guys with machetes and axes. He kills you with a single blow, no need to run - he hits you with 3m range. How many times I can't even count I got killed by a guy hitting me in the face with simple fists because he got me cornered and I can't run. There's boss fights in too small areas where you have problems to run, turn around, aim and shoot because before you even start aiming - you are already being eaten by a big zombie. There's too many scenes 'oopsie I'm coming out of the window and somebody out of nowhere attacks me or the ground underneath me is gone.' dozens of them god damn it. I really hope that if there ever will be part 3 it's going to be about Abby and Ellie is going to be 6 feet underground. I don't care about LGBTQ+ perspective in games as long as it's well made and with a point. it makes sense. Ellie being lesbian? Okay, fine, cool idea. Raising a child together? oK, that's life. Cool. That scar kid? That felt unnecessary and pointed out just to smile to some people. Highly disappointed the plot Leaves you at the starting point minus some people.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Well, at the beginning, Grade 10 is to balance the grade due to Review Bombs. My real grade is 8. At the beginning, I apologize for possible English errors because I am Brazilian, Let's start.

    Initially, the gameplay is incredible, I loved the avoidance mechanics and the speed of the fighting and etc., Artificial Intelligence is incredible as they coordinate to flank or make Patrol Routes, the Scenarios are also amazing especially Santa Barbara in the end, however the story disappointed me in some ways, i did like some parts but i was too frustrated with Joel's death, in my opinion they could have better used this great character or at least given a dignified death or even put gameplay with him, Abby seemed having no remorse for killing Joel and looking more like a psychopath with a pleasure in killing, while Ellie regretted and was intent on killing Mel and Owen and almost killing Abby.
    In my opinion it is still worth buying the game because of its fun gameplay, I still have fun today after platinizing and playing several times in testing aggressive stealth fighting and etc.    … Expand

    A great example of how great work of programmers, designers and actors can be ruined by one person.
    I really enjoyed the gameplay, visuals and even the plot of this game. But some of the moments were really disgusting. And this was enough to cross out all the positive emotions.

    Not interesting game. I have been waiting this game for so long, but gameplay is really boring, script of this game is really bad. The only think I liked in this game were graphics. Shadows are really beautiful, but graphics are not as important as plot and gameplay, so I’m really disappointed in this game, not recommended to buy.

    Naughty Dog had a gold mine with Ellie and Joel, but they wasted it for a gruesome, sad and unsatisfying revenge story.

    1 point for the stunning visuals and 1 point for the Ellie and Joel flashbacks.

Sure the graphics team, level designers, programmers, animators, sound designers, and many other artist and talented people did amazing job. When the game looks, plays and sounds this great it really shows what it lacks. And to me it was all the charm and magic of the first game. instead there was too much unnecessary gore and violence, forced narrative. Plot structure was all over the place. Some of the better parts were the flashbacks, but there was too many. And the swap of the characters halfway didn't make it for me. Shock value, yes, there was a lot of shocking twists, but none of real substance or importance to make me connect with new characters. And since most new characters died, it felt pointless in the end. I was asking myself, Why? And the ending perhaps most disappointing of the entire story. Well crafted game overall, but characters and plot severely lacking polish that you can find in other AAA titles. 6/10… Expand

When I say this, I mean that the perfect cake is the graphics and gameplay. The **** that sits on top of that cake is the story and the characters. Whoever wrote this **** on top of the cake should be ashamed for not even looking at the masterpiece that was The last of us. A simple game about a mission of delivering a girl who you grow attached to. The last of us 2 says hey remember the plot of the first game? well this game is all about revenge! put on your backpack and take your pregnant useless girlfriend.

    Ellie: Remember Ellie? Of course you do. well now she is 18-21 has a tattoo for some reason in an apocalypse. Ellie likes this girl Dina for some reason, apparently, they kissed once. we don't get to see it though until 10 minutes before the game is done. I can see why some people are surprised that Ellie is a lesbian but that is not my problem with it. My problem is that we are to believe that Ellie and Dina loves each other when all we see is one time when they are in a basement smoking weed, they scissor off-screen “remember that off-screen part for when I get to Abby” The writers of this has never heard of show don't tell before. After playing for a bit they start calling each other babe. That is so cringe. You have played the game for 1 hour but and they have been together for 10 minutes of that and they are calling each other babe.
    Joel: Abby comes and kills him after Joel and Tommy saves her life like 10 times. The marketing for this game was all about. Hey, look at how old Joel and Ellie is in this game, isn't that amazing. tricking you into thinking that Joel is going to be in this game. In reality all the marketing showing how much older Joel is were just flashbacks.
    Dina: Useless. She is there for two reasons. she is jewish so she teaches Ellie about religion and she is pregnant. Here is what really confused me. Meet Dina, she is most likely the same age as Ellie 18-21. She was obviously born after the apocalypse happened then. She was born in New Mexico... Jackson the town you start in is in Washington. According to google the distance between is 1490 miles, 2398 km. Dina and her sister apparently went to many synagogues. I just don't believe Dina could have been born in New Mexico and end up in Washington.
    Abby: Where does this **** get her protein? why are her arms so massive? they were so huge everyone thought she was a transgender chick with dick. Why is half of the game playing a character that no one wants? Abby is the **** that killed Joel, so you know how much you want to kill yourself the second you get to play as her. I mean the character not you the person. Abby and her friends are a part of a group/militia called WLF short for Washington liberation front or wolf. Abby has a "friend" called Owen he went AWOL or something. Owen is got Mel one of Abby's sort of friend pregnant. But Owen is into women with muscles because at one point in the game Abby goes to Owen after he went AWOL you have a little argument that you don't care about then Abby and Owen start to kiss. You expect it to be just like Ellie and Dina's scissoring session, but no. They go full **** on you. you get to see Abby take of Owen's shirt and Owen takes off Abby's shirt. Abby quickly takes off her bra and you see Abby's boob. Abby is so buff that it honestly looks more like a dude's saggy man pec. Owen then takes Abby puts her on the table pulls down her pants and unbuckles his belt. you then see Owen thrust into Abby 3 times. WHO THE **** LOOKED AT THAT AND SAID, Yes this is what people wants!    … Expand

I think the game is really emotive, I did liked it, the story is really good, the ending was bitter, Ellie pays a lot, it has some story flaws and some deus ex machina, but, I do understand why is this, besides those flaws on the story telling, I think the narrative is really good and the gameplay was superb, I didn't like to play as Abby since she was the antagonist, but, besides that, I think that the Abby's story is great, because this wants to say that no one is absolutely good nor bad, and the game shows the destructive cycle of revenge and how it can destroy someone that does not wants to let it go, I liked how smooth the gameplay is and how immersive it is, also, I liked how the game mechanics is so sweet that you can use your own imagination on how you want to confront the enemies, I really liked that is not so stealthy like the first one, it contains some action scenes that are awesome, I really liked the ending because it is bitter and close Ellie's and Joel's story, I can't wait to play it by 2nd time with more detail, I do recommend to play it until the end and analyze carefully the story after finishes it, because, I don't think that people who didn't finishes the game nor analyze it carefully may has a more accurate opinion, I really recommend to give it a chance… Expand

I give it a 3 the new game mechanics like the ropes and the new dogs plus the AI now helps you is great the graphics are perfect but the way the story was told it felt out of order and it felt wrong im not mad that joel died but how he died at the start of the game not only that but joel died and Ellie and joel relación as a family the reason people loved tlou1 was broken with no explanación until the end and by that time it dint matter and as for Abby her reason for killing joel are understandable but the game dint make us feel sorry for her only hate her because of how the story was told the orden was not done right and dint make me feel noting but hatred For Abby and her friend and new characters were like nobody they were dull the only new character that was not dull was jesse and he was killed the same goes for abbys friend they felt like regular non important characters… Expand

    I'll start of by saying I've never done a review on a game, but I couldn't stay quiet on this one. There's plenty of reviews on The Last of Us Part 2 that say what's wrong with the game so I won't go into detail, but I will say that I will personally boycott Naughty Dog what a waste of money. People who claim other people are intolerant because they say there was an agenda at play here are either blind or naive of course there was an agenda here. The last of us part 1 was the reason I decided to purchase the 2nd part and I didn't read into the reviews, what a mistake that was. Next time I will trust the reviews "Gamers" add and forget about company's that are paid off to spew lies. Forgetting the whole agenda thing the story was completely ridiculous why Naughty Dog would take the player through a rollercoaster of nonsense is beyond me. Ah 2020 what a year, World War 3 almost starts Covid, police brutally, idiots trying to dismantle every police force, the koalas, and the death of The Last of Us.

    Why a pregnant woman would decide to go to a known warzone is beyond me, and when she's asked what the baby daddy will say she basically replies we'll he's not the boss of me and I'll go anyways.

But they executed that idea very poorly and literally killed off the main character of the first game like he was nothing. How he died was a huge mistake and so was when. Everyone in the game, including ellie, felt like such a dreary and boring character. They killed everyone off as if they didn’t even matter so by the end of the game I was still wondering who Manny was. It felt so dull when Abby shot Jesse like he wasn’t the baby daddy of Dinas kid. What the hell Neil druckmann. It’s not even that it’s a bad game, overall the graphics are pretty good though there are a few glitches, it still irks me just how **** the storyline ended up being. 7 years of waiting for a hot pile of garbage. Though the game overall is nowhere near a 0, it definitely doesn’t deserve a 10/10. I’d give it a 6 for being such an average game. If you’re a fan of the last of us part 1, then the second game really shows just how bad the writers did on the second game compared. I almost wish they left it with the first one.… Expand

    --The level design is often a work of genius. Areas are big and realistic, and    Hoo boy. Okay. It's a pretty good game. The politics around it are staggeringly stupid. It largely achieved to do what (I think) it was trying to do--which is not to say I much enjoyed what it was trying to do. And I think there could have existed a better version of this game, these stories, and this series.

    --The level design is often a work of genius. Areas are big and realistic, and offer a variety of approaches to get through.
    --The story is frustrating. Good and bad, at times. Subtle at times, heavy-handed at others. I did not love it, I did not hate it. But it is admirably bold. (how often has a videogame had you play as a character, forcing you to achieve something *you don't want to achieve*).
    --There are long travel/scrounge sections that get very tedious and dull as the game goes on. In general the game is too long. It's the first time I think I've ever thought that about a game.

Seriously at some points to where you wonder if its the same person. And ultimately a game that has you murder hundreds of people to avenge a friend decides at the last moment that killing is bad.     If you loved the first game you're better off pretending this sequel didn't exist. I really wish I could get my 30+ hours back after finishing this game. The most disappointing release of this generation.

    I wasn't the biggest fan of the first game, however this sequel blew me away. Don't waste your time listening to the 0/10s or 1/10s. This game is not perfect, but give it a shot before coming here and reviewing the game. Other than Red Dead 2, I have never such triple A story telling in a video game where the edits and writing are way better than most Hollywood movies out there.

    The combat was greatly improved and also loved the fact that there was more workbenches ahah
    However the story was a big **** mess!
    Killing off the main character early on in the game by some hulk of a woman who’s dad was some random npc in the first one.
    Making you play as the **** for half of the game to try and sympathise with her and learn her story (doesn’t change my mind,still hate the ****)
    Making Ellie seem like the villain (also makes you kill dogs while Abby plays fetch and can pet them) Kills off Jesse and somehow overpowers Tommy? Logic
    Also Ellie lets her magically go off into the sunset with lev (who is cool) and Ellie loses everything!!!
    It just doesn’t make a good story,the first was a masterpiece and this just destroys it!!
    Even the trailers were misleading by showing Joel in scene’s when he is blatantly dead by then.

    Naughty seems to have missed what made people love the original game. It wasnt the setting, or the plot, or the gameplay, it was the relationship that grew between the two protagonists. Its the further development of their relationship that many fans, myself included, wanted to see. Thats not what we got. Not even close. Instead we get some confused revenge plot that is not only overdone, but is poorly executed. I left this game feeling bitter, angry and frustrated, and only in retrospect did I realize that I didnt actually enjoy any of my time with it, and that I even regretted playing it. The original story is better left untouched.

    I would rate this game as Not Worth Playing.    … Expand

    The game's only redeeming qualities is its graphics and gameplay, even the gameplay can be debated if its good or not. By the end of the game, you have no characters left to root for (yes, not even Ellie) because the game robs them of any redeeming qualities and interesting character growth.

It is difficult to believe the actions of certain characters, especially in a world like the one they try to depict in the story. Also, the behavior of the characters in this game go against what they had established in the first one.

    I understand that the false advertisement was done in order to protect the story, but I can't help thinking that they did it to trick people into thinking this game would be an adventure similar to the first one in some way, and so ensure sales on day 1, relying on the nostalgic feeling people had for the first game.    … Expand

    The story could have been so much better and more interesting, since the second half of the game everything feels pointless and boring, this ruins the entre game.

However, the story is a white bummer tale and the misery is nonstop. If you're looking for a happy ending for you favorite duo, it ain't here. The graphics and environment are pretty good, but the game is terrible in terms of story, numerous plot holes, enemy AI (Buggy as hell, melee attacks sometimes wouldn't even register), and the fact that we were told we didn't have to kill any dogs in the game, but made us kill one speaks volumes.     The soundtrack is good, but it might be the only thing that is good. There is no new mechanics and the story doesn't make sense.
    If you played part 1, I wouldn't recommend ruining your good memories.

This game didn't shove politics in our faces, it always was a part of this franchise ( like seriously, LOU was feminist as **** ). How this game treated it's characters is nothing new. Characters like Henry and Tess showed the player that no character is safe, not even the main one. This game franchise always left the player feeling uneasy ( the last game had Joel completely destroy the only chance for a cure and lied about it ). So alot of this games criticisms are nothing that the last game hasn't done already. This game has gotten a terrible rep despite having tense gameplay, incredible graphics and setting, interesting characters, and a compelling and complicated story. This game had me yelling, crying, cringing ( in the sense of how graphic it's gets at times ) and my heart melting throughout it. But by far the best thing about this game is that it made me feel empty at the end of the story. Most games, hell even most movies and stories, always leave you feeling content despite how unearned it may be most if the time. They leave the audience satisfied but not always challenged in the end. So for a triple A game to take the risk of pissing off it's player base to go for a story that leaves an impact is something very astonishing. Most players would like to believe that video games should be an art form and one that can be taken seriously. But they often times don't want games or stories that deviate outside of the norm. And with this game, they just want this story to conform to other stories that make them feel comfortable. Without room for works that can challenge, games no longer become art but rather products.

    What I'm trying to say is that this game isnt a huge deviation from what has happened before, that it pulls off what it sets to do very well, that this game does things that even most movies dare not to do and that if games are art then they should be allowed to be challenging. But above all else is tgat this game has pushed the game industry forward in having this form of entertainment be considered art with it's incredible story and gameplay.

    If anything else, at least this game has left many with an intense emotion rather than most other games that leave most feeling nothing.



    P.s. I'm sorry if this doesn't make a whole lot of sense, there's just so much I can say about this game and it's hard to form it all in a nice understandable way ( I can talk for hours about this game ).This was just a way of me putting my rambly feelings out there.

    P.s. again. Also yeah I know that me saying that this game did alot of the same **** that the last game did might seem like it clashes with my statement that this games pushes the boundaries of the gaming industry. But the series has always pushed boundaries and it clearly has carried onto this title :)

    P.s again ( last time, I promise ) There are some genuine criticisms of how it was falsly marketed and how the trans character Lev was handled. Firstly, yeah it was ****ty to promise one thing and deliver another and ND shouldn't have lied about what in the game ( like at least be honest about the dog part ). Lastly, I loved Levs character and although the rep is not as bad as other trans characters in the past, it's still not great. They probably shouldn't have deadnamed and talked about his trans trauma, and they probably should've hired trans writers for his character. However, it is nice how Levs character is not just his trauma and that he's a fully fleshed out character, and that they did actually hire a trans man to voice act and mocap his character. Also, the fact that there is any trans guy rep in a major videogame at all is incredible. The line about Lev having to do the nasty with the elders and showing Lev fight with his mom about his tranness was a step too far. I still love the character anyways.    … Expand

The graphics were great and the game play was pretty good, but there were some elements of the combat system that I found a bit clunky. There were a things that I felt were added to shake up certain combat encounters that I thought were kind of lazy- I'm not a fan of games that use the whole "oh no, you've lost your stuff and now have to have a hand to hand boss battle!" thing more than once, and this one did. It is not one with a positive ending, and a lot of people don't like that- which is understandable. I happen to be someone who likes depressing and dark media, so part of my positive score is just from personal taste. Overall, however, it was a good game.… Expand

The story is very emotional, weather you like or not, the narration is good even though there are parts we're it feels way too streched. The biggest flaw of this game is that the story tends to be a bit too long in some parts, and some choices plot wise are not so well justified and explained.     The Last of Us Part II is visually beautiful and plays more or less like its predecessor. Unfortunately it stumbles when it comes to execution of themes and story. In an attempt to demonstrate the consequences of actions, the game ultimately wastes the characters we came to love in the previous game.

Игру делали 7 лет , можно было после конца игры выполнять доп. задания. В конце Элли просто ушла. Эбби тоже не показали что и как. Поэтому игре можно поставить только 5, 6, 7.… Expand

    La jugabilidad y los gráficos destacan mucho, peor la historia es el punto flaco, la manera en la que cuentan la historia, mediante Flashbacks, no funciona, corta las emociones de la historia y se maneja de una manera muy tortuosa. Lastimosamente arruinaron toda la historia que crearon en la 1.

    A masterpiece! It's incredible the way in wich the history connects and everything makes sense. It made me pass through a lot of emotions, and got me attached to the characters. Tottally loved the game.

    I've been watching RadBrad for years,,, For years! lol. The gameplay was absolutely **** fantastic! From start to finish watching random **** happen for the sake of watching random **** happen was awesome.     26h 12min, this was the time it took me to finish the game and I haven't even reached 100%, I only got 149 collectibles in my first game. And, to be honest, I have the feeling of "I don't know if I would play again". The game is not bad, but neither is it a masterpiece.

    Like Uncharted 4, TLOU part II is a linear game that flirts with the exploration of extensive maps, only that there are not many open areas to explore (which is a shame). And Naughty Dog is to be congratulated, the strongest point of the game is the setting of the scene (which is stunning, by the way).

    The mechanics are almost the same as the first title, with the added feature of lying on the ground and dodge. And speaking of changes, three different factions (WLF’s, Seraphites / Scars and Rattlers) were added and two new types of infected were introduced, the Shamblers and the Rat King. As you can see, there are few additions.

    The developer sold the idea of individualizing the NPC, making them talk to each other, respond better to the player's actions and, when their allies died, shout each other's names. Except that they were not careful to at least change the appearance of the NPC even in the most closed scenarios, I had the feeling of killing triplets (which broke the feeling of immersion). Individualization was a nice idea, but it was not done well.

    Something that I must make clear, with respect to gameplay and that hindered my experience, the game eventually made me dizzy (even changing accessibility and using motion sickness control), so I was forced to take a break of at least 30 min to return to play. Which breaks the fluidity of the gameplay. I say more, I only continued to play because of the curiosity to see the outcome.

    It is a story shaped by violence, and I was literally guided by the feeling of anger. The game fed me with hatred and then tried to add the feeling of empathy (which it did not, the story fueled my hatred in a way that, when it tried to show me another perspective, I didn't care about anything).

    Keep your expectations low, so that you can have a better gaming experience. TLOU part II was made for you to get into the character's skin, to feel what he feels, but it is a very subjective field and the narrative does not always reflect the feelings of the player and character. That was the biggest sin in the game.

    To conclude, the game in general is fun. I, who really like exploring the scenery, was a good experience. But the outcome of that story (what kept me playing), in the eyes of a guy who loves the first game, was disappointing. If the game had given the choice of outcome, had given the player agency, it would have been a totally different experience.    … Expand

    El juego deja mucho que hablar, esperar tanto años para una historia meh, una pelicula con joysticks y no una pelicula muy buena que digamos, el juego decepciona menos en su ambito grafico, que es bueno pero tampoco es para mas todo juego actualmente tiene que ser superior en graficas.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
