    I dont understand why people think this is a bad game, other than it being extremely violent. I like it, but I think it qualifies as a good game for the same reasons the first one does. I will avoid detail because the gaming community has treated this game horribly with spoilers leading up to the release.

    Aight m8. I can tolerate this whole SJW **** but it wont make a game good.

    But Neil forgot about we live in the real world and this Biggot sandwich - Boy on steroids - Lesbian transsexual really works as good plot in his own world of make believe.

    Flashback on falshback and the whole story is about revenge that does not even there in the end.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game can't be saved by a fresh coat of paint. They story which is what we all held fondly in memory as one of the best games in history, is reduced to a pandering mess.

    Graphics 2/10 sorry but they look like a slight upgrade to the remaster.
    Audio 2/10 felt like remixed audio from Part 1.
    Gameplay 5/10 till you're forced to play as Abby then it drops to -10/10.
    Story 0/10 POINTLESS read on to see why.
    Killing off Joel feels as if it was only done for shock effect to illicit an emotional response and set up a WEAK story. In part one Joel kills hundreds of enemies human and infected. We're meant to believe this 1 person, who developers put that moral dilemma on us the player kill as the pivotal one? This was the entire plot for this game?

    You then force us like HALO 5 (and we all remember how that played out) to play as the one person who NO ONE cares for due to her actions. We have no attachment to nor do we want any for Abby.

    Elle then goes on her rage filled killing/torturing journey. She kills hundreds only to come face to face with Abby and what does she do? She lets her go! So all the people we've killed all our actions throughout the game are POINTLESS.

    BTW how can you tell the writing is weak? Elle tortured a person goes back and flirts with her girlfriend (and the romance is so badly written.) Ashley Johnson is an amazing Actress/Voice actress the script is so bad it felt like she was phoning it in waiting for the real script.

    Scenes ripped from Walking dead and Lord of the Rings:
    Frodo Vs Golem (fight for power and Frodo loses he finger, it gets bitten off)
    Elle and Abby fight for who will live (spoiler Elle is winning and just gives up and lets her go after Abby bites off her fingers that is.)
    Glen Vs Negan (Joel is shot in the knee and is in a kneeling position when Abby bashes in his head with a golf club)
    Stuff like this pops up everywhere in the game cause they had no clue how to write this game.

It's also surprisingly long. Like near the end the game has so many cuts to black that I was like "is this the end? No wait maybe this is the end" I'm jumping around here but yeah I enjoyed it. The only reason I couldn't give it a perfect score is because.. Well...Where's the multiplayer? The first game had such a bad ass online mode that I loved and would have loved to experienced here. But... It's nowhere to be found. But hey new game + is a thing soo... Yeah. That's my review… Expand

    It's rare that I would tell someone not to buy a game instead of playing it for themselves to develop an opinion on their own. But as someone who made sure not to read any spoilers, I can safely say I would happily go back and not buy this game to save myself the heartache (and £50)

    El juego es de lo mejor hecho para PS4, sólo porque hayan matado a Joel temprano, no significa que ya nada del juego sirve, el juego está impecable en todo sentido, la historia es muy buena y jugable, por más que la quieran destrozar. Sí tengo que decidir entre la narrativa del 1 y este, me quedo con el 1. Pero eso no le quita mérito, esta historia está muy al nivel de cualquier otra. Además cualquier apartado del juego destaca brillantemente, empezando por los enormes gráficos, que están pulidos a más no poder; la banda sonora, que en otra entrega más vuelve a sorprender; la jugabilidad que si bien, es muy parecida a la anterior, es mucho más fluida, inmersiva y intuitiva, creo que mejorar más de lo que ya era, era extremadamente complejo, y lo lograron, tal vez, no en la mejor medida, pero esto convence y mucho.

    Obviamente la flaqueza del juego es su guión... Personalmente me dolió la despedida de Joel tan cruel, y muy injusta, como para el personaje que era en la saga, pero que sí te pones a pensar, no era algo de extrañar, principalmente por todos los enemigos que hizo en la primera entrega debido a su brutalidad....

    Y bueno... El final es otro punto que no tocaré ya que sé que muchos no han jugado el juego.

    Personalmente pienso que sí no has jugado el juego, o simplemente te han dicho que es malo, por esto y por lo otro, no lo critiques, cuando lo hayas jugado y hayas tú mismo sentido la experiencia te darás cuenta que el juego es una joya.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. To start off with the positive first. The graphics of this game is visually stunning and completely shows the full power of the Playstation 4. Gameplay is seamless and friendly. Melee combat is made easier with the dodge button although it is easily abused and takes the fun and tension during close encounters. Voice acting and motion capture is also great. It helps make the characters believable and real.

    Now with the negative. The story is an absolute letdown compared to the first game. Killing off one of the main protagonists that players loved and doing it in a very disrespectful way. Players then take off in a mission for revenge and halfway throughout the story, the game forces you to take on the perspective of the killer just so it can desperately try to make you symphatize with her reasons and justify her actions.
    Naughty Dog also seems to have a misguided belief that a long game would mean a great game. This is entirely false as the game is so exhaustingly dragged on to no end, making simple fetch quests into a long tiring gameplay where you constantly venture into buildings or bridges again and again and again. Making the trip to finish the game an absolute chore.

    In the end, TLOU2 is a failed attempt to introduce a strong female character in a very generic revenge plot that feels like a completely different game slapped with a familiar title just so it would sell copies. It is a sad excuse of a sequel with no satisfying closure and should've spent more time in the drawing board.    … Expand

What's even worse is how they treat some of the beloved characters. And the ending is probably one of the worst endings I had to endure in a long while. No payoff, no reward no nothing. What's also quite upsetting is how the "critics", aka the ass kissers, give it raving reviews, while the actual fans aren't too fond of the game so far. Just look at Pewdiepie's reaction to the first pivotal moment in the game. That tells you all you need to know.

    The emotions and images established by Joel in the previous work are completely destroyed. Joel and Tommy who had survived in the harsh environment for years is willing to trust strangers, To the full extend of giving their full name when they know Joel has a lot of enemies is illogical. I personally do not mind Joel being killed but the way where he was killed make it a cheap death for a character that we had so much love in the previous work.

    Abby as someone who had seek for revenge for years willing to let the rest of them go dint make sense. She did not consider that there are revenge possibility or think that their group is too powerful for someone to have any possibility of revenge capability. Being The passerby who killed our favorite character she absorbed all the hatred and become the most hated character in game. Yet we are forced to play as the killer trying to establish some form of empathy and sympathy as a player for this character.

    Lastly, Ellie who lost everything in the end, her capability to play the guitar that was her link to Joel. Losing her loved ones for the act of last revenge. She knew what She is going for when she decided to go, and yet giving up on revenge on the very last minute after killing all the people in the game? This is punishing to play as the player, we should be given the choice if we wanted to kill Abby.

    Es Spielt sich genauso und trotzdem der Charakter umbesetztung hat es dasselbe Feeling.
    Dieses drückende Gefühl wenn man durch Joels ausgeht,und man das Bild von seiner Tochter sieht unbeschreiblich also spielt es selberals euch von der metacritik abschrecken zu lassen.

    The gameplay are improved, the graphics is top notch, the level design is amazing and it's well done combine with the puzzle. The story are about hate and I can feel the hate is something special here, I can feel the hate but in the same time I also can feel the sadness, the ending is mind blowing. What a game

Due to what I expect was from an overwhelming amount of trolls rating the game low when they likely hadn't even played it, I thought I should offer my support. Here was the original review:

    "First of all I would like to state I have played this game for 12 hours now and have yet to finish a 22 hour (minimum) game. What shocks me is the amount of speed runners already hating the game, finishing it within maybe four hours of release?

    Obviously I am joking and these other reviews are from those who have not finished, or likely even bought the game. I think it's shameful when people decide to destroy the reputation of a game off of leaks that don't conform to what they think should have happened. Gay people exist, major characters die as plot devices and women who are buff are not always trans, get over it.

    The game is immaculate and I cant wait to play more. The story, writing and visuals are supremely done and I would put it on par with the original already (rush to judgement? maybe, but then again I have actually played the game for a significant amount of time and am therefore able to form a valid opinion).

    Don´t listen to all negative feedback by players. If you will make it to end of the game, you will understand how much interconnected it is to first game. They perfectly showing that every decision matters and it will have consequences.

I’m a fan of the original so the 6 is based on nostalgia and improvements to gameplay but the story makes the score form hitting the 7-10 range. The fact a sequel isn’t needed will also hurt the game a bit in my opinion, but let’s begin. I genuinely enjoyed exploring the city of Seattle, the notes left behind by survivors and flowing the clues to the next note till the end. Reminded me of Bethesda’s story telling through books and letters. I also enjoyed the story of Ellie but less so Abby’s story. After the disturbing way Naughty Dog (Druckmann) betrayed the fan base and killed Joel in a very contrived Brutal way (only for shock value) did playing Abby (Joel’s) killer make me just hate her, and being forced to play her and have Naughty Dog try and make her actions before and after work just falls flat. For the pros of the game, The graphics are beautiful, the melee combat is slightly improved the gore in amazing and being able to play in the world I loved from the original will always be fun. The cons, Joel dies in a unjustified way. The story is poorly written, mostly for Abby’s time in the story. Controversial topics being brought up like Lesbians (if for some reason people care) and transgenderism do seem thrown in at times for no actual reason and any attempts to go into those discussions are just mediocre at best and useless at worst. This has not disapointed me at all, it’s made me cry and made me laugh in some parts, this is a masterpiece and the creators should be proud.     First of all, I loved this game. Secondly, I am deeply disappointed with the gaming community - or maybe people in general.
    The game is daring and it tries to give a realistic presentation of what a post-apocalyptic world would be(like the first game). It ADDS a serious amount of context for the story of the first game. As a matter of fact the first one feels lacking without the context of the second because you get to know the characters’ feelings and thoughts better. The story is indeed a cycle of violence. The fact that Joel dies saddens every fan but it doesnt mean that it is an injustice to the character. Joel did many questionable things. One of them caught up to him in the end thus propelling Ellie to a new adventure. The game shows you that life is a matter of perspective. Was Abby in the wrong for wanting to get revenge and killing Joel? Was Ellie wrong for wanting the same? Did that justify killing other people indirectly involved? Was Joel in the wrong for not letting Ellie die because he viewed her as his daughter but they possibly lost the cure for the infection? All these questions and more are hard to answer and are ethical dylemmas that require you to see them from a certain perspective. So yea, in this realistic brutal world, revenge is a thing, violence is a thing and hatred is a thing. Also the fact that you see Abby’s side is important for the story and vital though I really liked Ellies playstyle way more.(she is more nimble-better suited weapons for me) People crying because Joel died seems stupid to me. The game overall improves in every way. Gameplay is really good and has evovled(and i dont get why some people say its the same). Acting, animations, graphics etc are out of this world. Ending was almost perfect for me, it gives a ray of hope in the bleak world that humanity continues to devastate. I dont know why people thought that this would be Ellie's happy adventures but this franchise was always about hardships and relationships. All in all, some people just dont own Ps4 but xbox, some have problems with lesbians and trans people( btw Abby is not trans she just goes a lot to the gym), some people are really sensitive and had false expectations and some people just like to ride the bandwagon of hate towards something. Most of the aforementioned people havent played the game let alone finished it. Or they are magicians who finished the game some hours after metacritic opened user reviews. We also have an abnormal amount of user reviews..I wonder why.
    In conclusion. I would rate this game 97-98/100. Its a masterpiece in my opinion. Maybe the best single player story driven game I have ever played. I am just really sad that people are the way the are. Makes me think that the Last of Us part II gives a clear message that applies like a glove to the real world: people are filled with hatred and that it is shown by their actions.    … Expand
