Apart of the forced controversy created by ND about their Agenda, the need of an “opene mind” to play and enjoy I must to say that I never mind any more If Joel dies, I Ellie is gay, if Abby is a genetic photosop male with a girl layer mask on his/her face and the graphics are better than ever and so.

    After 15 hours of gameplay at survival mode (I made four runs of the first part at grounded mode) I would be terrible bored playing if this were about Ellie and Joel, the actuals nor the modified, trying to save the babe of Ellie with a non letal vacune on him.

    Naugthy Dog is just the same since Uncharted One, an older, boring, saddist CGI that love to treat bad to the gamers that look for a real deal playing at max. The same boring scenes, or you shot kill everyone or you just get the trigger scape with a fast run.

    TLOU2 is a boring game, with boring plots, nor one of them gets you on the shoes of anyone, you just don’t enjoy any situation. Maybe the Seattle underground was the best for me.

    Easier than the first TLOU this game do not offered to me any kind of interest or motivation to play till the end. It’s terrible long, unnecessary long, but having spend 15 hour to get to the 10% of the story knowing that the next 80% I will be forced to play with Abby, a ramdon NCP which destiny I won’t ever care is a No Man I’m done Sir now!

    This is the worst plot story ever made, supported under weaks fundaments like:
    Joel: Omg I lied to Ellie
    Ellie: He lied to me
    Dina: You lied to me about your immunity
    Jess: You lied to me about you were pregnant
    Ellie: Agree
    Abby: agree but about the ex of my boyfriend

    This is stupid, ridiculous, shilly, lazy, boring.

    But forgetting the plots, the characters, the storytelling, the gameplay is just the older boring Naughty Dogs it's been doing long time ago.

    I forgot it for Uncharted 4 and TLOU 1 because the plot and the characters and their quest and conflict, but thanks to this twists I can say that the big problem is that ND loves to treat very very bad to the gamers and that’s because I rank to 0.

    This game could have been great but it simply isn't, why? here's why:

    1) Using Joel's death as a plot device for the story to develop into a generic revenge story that doesn't even work because you never get to avenge Joel. 2) Using Joel's death for mere shock value early in the game to build up a sense of hate towards Abby. This scene is even used as a jumpscare moment at the final    This game could have been great but it simply isn't, why? here's why:

    1) Using Joel's death as a plot device for the story to develop into a generic revenge story that doesn't even work because you never get to avenge Joel.

    2) Using Joel's death for mere shock value early in the game to build up a sense of hate towards Abby. This scene is even used as a jumpscare moment at the final stages of the game.

    3) introducing Abby as a villain character for killing Joel after she gets saved by him and then forcing people to sympathize with her actions later on after the deed is done. 4)This entire story feels forced and not believable. How? Because there are countless moments that are not realistic and I'm referring to moments where Abby or other characters should have died but still manage to survive no matter what. Another moment where characters act out of character. If you think Joel's death was realistic then you're also saying that this game is only realistic for specific moments. Because if it wasn't the case then we wouldn't have the same story.

    5) rather than exploring other more interesting areas of the plot like ( Ellie's immunity, Ellie's mom, and how she got to the fireflies, finding out more about the origin of this virus, addressing Joel's lie at the end of the game. *I know that this was barely included but it wasn't enough at all. It was a flashback ffs*etc...) There are lots of directions they could have pursued but instead, we get to explore Ellie's sexuality by adding Dina, which doesn't add anything to the story or its characters. We also got rid of Joel just so we can transform the story into a generic revenge plot with no derivable morals or messages.

    Now, I'm going to propose some ideas that I think could have bettered this "sequel".

    Starting the game with the flashback sequences we got. This way we can see both Ellie and Abby's development. This way, we can understand Abby's decisions and reasoning.
    if the game starts with the flashbacks and have those sequences stretched out a bit then the actual start of this game in winter would be around halfway through the game and then there are some changes you could add like making Abby a more conflicted character by making her question her initial goal ( which is to kill Joel ) after she gets saved by him. This way, Abby becomes a multi-layered character with a complex personality unlike the Robot she is in this game. Still, even if after all that...she kills Joel, then people wouldn't feel shocked about it because they would be expecting it. The entire scene wouldn't be as abrupt or undeserved. They could introduce themes of forgiveness and hope and that would create a perfect emotional balance with the violence and hopelessness of this world. This would also achieve the goal of intriguing players on choosing who is good or bad. After all, isn't that what Neil wanted to achieve with his story. Well... He clearly failed cuz most players wanna destroy Abby and no one else. Finally, I would suggest getting rid of characters like Dina or Jesse. Because while they sometimes brighten the mood a bit, their role is practically non essentially to the plot progression nor for the development or growth of the characters. I would rather make them inflict changes to the story or impact/ influence Ellie in some drastic way causing her to act in a certain way.

    This is unfortunate...
    The last of us is more than this.
    I mean...we went from focusing on the emotional journey and the intimate relationship between Joel and Ellie which developed organically, to this meaninglessly violent story that bears no identity from the original game.
    I could slap a random title on it like" The Bigots Of Us" and I wouldn't even recognize it as a sequel to the first installment XD.
    The original game was special and bittersweet. Whereas, this one is just bitter, meaningless, and incapable of evoking those meaningful and striking story beats that the first game had.

    Man, I could go on and on about how much of a disappointment this is compared to the first one and Don't get me started with how they false advertised this game by replacing Characters and changing models just so they can deceive us into thinking that Joel will be alive at least throughout half of the game lol. And without addressing all the identity politics and feminist ideas that Neil introduced like deciding to create a manly looking female because he feels that female video game characters are sexualized... Anyways, the point is **** this game, and if you like it then good for you but honestly ... the only part that was genuinely enjoyable is the flashback sequences with Ellie and Joel. For me, those moments are a tease for the perfect sequel we deserved but unfortunately will never be able to get unless, by a miracle, this game gets remade.

    I loved it. A huge upgrade over the first game, with an even more thought provoking story. The non-linear structure of it was odd at first, but it grew on me. The gameplay is tense, fun, and challenging. This is easily the best looking game I’ve played. The characters look photorealistic, helping the incredible performance. This game has beautiful environments, with tons of atmosphere.I loved it. A huge upgrade over the first game, with an even more thought provoking story.     Everyone is entitled to there own opinions and if you played the game and didn’t enjoy gameplay, story etc for whatever reasons that’s totally respectable. But review bombing is pathetic and 90% if not more of these user reviews are based on hate people have for LGBT , Sony , Naughty dog and a character you have 0 ownership over meeting a sad end etc and nothing to do with the gameEveryone is entitled to there own opinions and if you played the game and didn’t enjoy gameplay, story etc for whatever reasons that’s totally respectable.     It was a great game 6 years ago but now it became a revenge game and there is plenty of them .
    We used to love the last of us for the story and the chemistrie between the caracters and now there is non so i ll say good bye to a great game RIP

    Графика красивая. Если даже третья часть и будет, я может быть посмотрю прохождение, покупать точно не буду.    Ожидал от игры лучшего сюжета, им расстроен больше всего, особенно концовкой, нет слов на сколько я расстроен.

    the last of us is about joel and ellie their are the last of us without them it just can't be and since joel is dying there is already 1 person gone I thought ok we are now just going to play as ellie for the rest of the game but no you must play as abby that really ruins the whole game why do you play if her plays nothing on anyone cares about her the story is not right you don't feel a click with the characters it seems like some scenes are missing because then ellie sees someone get hung up and cut open and then in the next scene she's flirting with dina come on a little bit apart part 2 should just have been about ellie's uniqueness that was much better than this it's totally ruined and seriously ellie sacrificed so much to abby and then let them go so stupid
    there were a few points that I liked about the game
    1.graffics
    2. the relationship of ellie and dina
    3. the pieces that you will be playing the guitar
    4. characters that sing
    5. gameplay

    Very poor story telling purely for shock factor. Favourite characters became unrecognisable.
    Game is beautiful but it’s easily forgotten as you continue on with a story that becomes more and more unsatisfying to complete.
    My honest opinion? Forget this game happened and tell myself the 1st game was a stand-alone game.
    Such wasted potential.

    So it seems to me even though I’ve only installed this epic game and not even started that we have a world of haters for this game. The first game is astonishing and awesome and I haven’t finished it yet but the reviews really do suggest you guys don’t know a good game when it’s before you. You gamers simply cannot be satisfied.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. If you read the review with spoilers, then you know that the developers killed Joel in the first hours of the game. With this act, the developers caused a loyal fan of the first part of the game a real pain. Sudden and sharp as a stab. But, as if this were not enough, the developers further force the player to look at how Ellie suffers and morally degrades. This brings the player no less pain, but a long and dull one. Like a toothache. And then the players are forced to play for Joel's killer - Abby. They reveal her as a bad person who is struggling to become good. Perhaps this would be a good move if the players did not have such a strong emotional connection with Ellie and Joel. But there is a connection. Therefore, attempts to humanize Abby in the eyes of the player look like a mockery. After all, in parallel with how Abby morally grows, Ellie sinks to the bottom and does terrible disgusting things. It will devastate you. And I think that the developers sought exactly this effect. But for what? To tell a banal story that revenge is bad. About that which causes only revenge and does not give deliverance.
    This is a commonplace thought, but this does not mean that this cannot be a topic of conversation. Because it is important. However, if you were going to tell the story of revenge in such a cruel way, then you should have given us the story of Abby, which would have hit the player’s heart as deeply as the story of Joel and Ellie. Then a collision between Elli and Abby's foreheads at the end would be appropriate. But instead, the developers tell us something very mediocre ... The story of Abby is the level of one episode in The Walking Dead. It is interesting, but I do not want my favorite characters to die for this ...
    In general, the screenwriter and the director get 3 out of 10 from me.
    Out of respect for the workers who worked on the game for 12 hours a day, I will give the game 7. I would give the employees more, because technically the game is almost excellent. But I can not. This is dishonest in relations with Joel, Ellie and their fans.    … Expand

    First things first, the story isn’t as bad as the leaks make it out to be. There is a death that is handled somewhat undeserved but that is the only thing story wise that drops this score. The gameplay is very satisfying and melee combat is very gratifying, however brutally realistic to a degree that hasn’t been seen before. Much more smooth and terrifying than the first game. HalfwayFirst things first, the story isn’t as bad as the leaks make it out to be. There is a death that is handled somewhat undeserved but that is the only thing story wise that drops this score. The gameplay is very satisfying and melee combat is very gratifying, however brutally realistic to a degree that hasn’t been seen before. Much more smooth and terrifying than the first game. Halfway through this game my actions that felt justified were questioned as I experienced something quite different from the usual formula, but suits this games messaging. And this is a very graphically advanced game, with believable animation. The exploration was actually interesting and rewarding for those who like to search for extra items and stories. There was a point, however, where the story changes drastically and my work felt like it’s reward was delayed. The supposed LGBT agenda is not pushed whatsoever and only mentioned briefly.

    Overall, the leaks don’t truly show this game’s masterfully crafted world and is definitely worth the time to play. A must buy.    … Expand

For a typical revenge story, you made it feel fresh and you took your time to connect the first game into this one. Was everything perfect? No, but the experience was. Whilst this game has amazing graphics and gameplay the main reason to play these types of games is for the story and the story in TLOUp2 is horrable. It's not because joel died or because of sexuality in game it's because it's not thought out well. My personal biggest complaint is the horrable way the game ended. Why would she feel guilty about killing joel's killer but not feel guilty about killing hundreds of other people who didn't personally hurt her or her family, and the main theme I got from the game is that everything has consequences, how is letting her live her punishment for killing her father figure.
    But if you're looking for a beautiful movie like game then it gets a 10/10    … Expand

I have no idea why they fired their old writer this game is so disrespectful to the first game by killing off Joel 2 hours in and you only get a couple scenes with him and Ellie before his death such a beloved character done so dirty. It’s too bad that great game designers have to have their work step on by Neil and his writers for making this stupid story that makes you uninterested and disappointed throughout the game.     0/10 - Story.... what in the actual...... I am not kidding, the story is a disjointed pandering mess. People need to STOP listening to twitter and STOP listening to Anita. It's time we remove these cancers that are frankly tearing down our communities and the goodwill we have been working on for the last 60 years. Then when you had the actual opportunity to have an inclusive sex scene in the game, you choose to make a slightly rapey straight scene, that was not touching, that was not at all endearing (this is different than something intended for erotic purpose)? LITERALLY WTF were you thinking?

    7/10 - Graphics, literally the only redeeming factor this game has is how good it looks and how smooth the animations are... for the time it took and the progress since, this could have been much better.

    Seriously I want my money back. I should never have bought this game and frankly OFFENDED at the way it treats LGBTQ issues/ellie's relationship. It's an outright INSULT to the LGBTQ community.

    Harvey Milk didn't die for Anita Sarkessian to RUIN the LGBTQ movement's progress with her faux feminist -give me money- agenda.

Naughty did prove what the can bring with time the game looks beautiful and the story is ...told unusual but its a much more mature version of the last game altough the characters feel a lil plumb written here and there it tells a beautiful story and it makes me wanna cry that people dont even play the game befor giving it a bad review. yes it killed joel yes our frends die but thats part of this **** up post apocalaptic world were humans and the game schows that in every major character all i can say is i liove it and it dosaent deserve such bad reviews

    Don't listen to the review bombers. I finished this game about two hours ago, and have been sat deciding whether or not I liked it. I've decided that I do. I don't feel I need to mention graphics acting sound etc we all know naughty dog are the kings at all that. I'm just gonna dive into how good the game is. The last of us part two had me hating moments of play (only due to the storyDon't listen to the review bombers. The last of us part two had me hating moments of play (only due to the story beats) and I found myself watching and doing things I didn't want to do! The key thing here is that by the end everything wraps up in such a beautiful way and as it sat with me, the more and more I loved it. I loved it so much in fact, I am just about to begin replaying again, just to see everything that happened with literally tonnes of added meaning.

    None of the characters from the first game, especially Joel and Ellie, are diminished in any way, only improved. None of them are done a disservice either, some of you may know what I mean but I don't wanna go into spoilers. The end redeems everything!

    In terms of gameplay I think it's tense, thrilling and engaging. It kept me going through the slower story beats and is a massive improvement on the original. I've seen people saying otherwise and I don't really get why.

    I just want people to play this game and not dismiss it just cos of what others are saying about it. It's a fantastic story that hasn't been told in any form of media before (to my knowledge) and people shouldn't be put off by things they've heard! Give it a go    … Expand

    This game is really bad, the girl behind the storytelling is throwing personal nonsense into this game and sadly that ruined everything.
    Thanks everyone who helped this to become real, and thanks CD Proyekt for stopping this same thing in the past.

    I feel like Neil handed in his erotic fan fiction instead of the real script when he accidentally burned it while smoking his employees' resignation letters. It's clear they were grasping for straws and whipped up some top tier deviant-art writing skills to give any excuse to make this game.

The graphics, music, and locations are great. The story on the other hand is a complete dumpster fire. The characters from the first game act out of character and make bad decisions. And worst of all they force you to play as Abby,(a character you don’t like) for like 1/3 of the game so you feel sympathy for her and it just doesn’t work. You’re forced to be around characters you don’t care about, it drags on for way too long, and ruins the game. There’s no motivation to desperately survive and keep this character you don’t like alive. You have to play as Abby and try to kill Ellie and Tommy which is just stupid. They could’ve ended the flashback once you saw the doctor die. It’s a petty and stupid revenge story with horrible pacing. Plus the ending is trash and unsatisfying. Ellie basically loses everything and the entire journey was all for nothing. I 100% understand the message and what Naughty Dog is trying to tell me, but that doesn’t mean it I like it, and it definitely wasn’t executed well.… Expand

But the main issue with the game is how they treated some of the most beloved characters and the story telling in the game. They killed Joel off by the hands of the Abby who I never really connected with. Also not to mention the forced identity politics being shoved down your throat. Dina was one of the worscharacters in the game, she felt like a hindrance and ruin the moment for me when walking in Joel's house. The whole point of this game was revenge and guess what, you don't even get to kill abby at the end. Naughty dog have gone done the star wars route. Great visuals but terrible storyline. I hope we don't get a part 3.… Expand

    It is simply the best game of our generation. Not only for graphics and the gameplay but for the story behind this long and awesome trip that is the world of tlou. The most important thing in this game is the revenge and I think that ellie is the perfect character for this game

I also didn’t think that I would play half of the game for Abby unknown to me (I couldn’t penetrate this character). And the ending pleasantly surprised and even shocked me, on the one hand it looks like some kind of arthouse, but on the other it’s quite interesting and open to continue ending. But because of Ellie’s last act, I was furious because I thought that I had been playing for 30 hours in vain for such a result. As a result, we have a good game in technical terms, but from the plot side there are very large failures. Therefore, I put the game 7/10.… Expand

    The game is good. Gameplay feels nice, graphics are great. But that story, my god the story... it sours the whole experience. Half the game is spent with the sourest taste in your mouth because it’s just that awful. Honestly it feels like Naughty Dog was smelling their own farts to the point their heads were up their own asses.

    Graphics are great animations, music, etc but the story oh boy the story is literally your typical mediocre hollywood movie and the writers are trying so hard to surprise you and make you see the perspective of characters that you wouldn’t like for even 1 second. To me this is one of the worst games this generation (story-wise) sony needs to fire some people from naughty dog lmao
