    The story is full of controversy. It takes more precipitation to sort out the story, and in the end no matter who will be affected by this negative storm. In this era, this story is obviously too cruel

    Game Mechanics: 5/10
    -The feel of the game is generally smooth and easy to pick up. It doesn't innovate much on the first game, however. Too many of the dynamic events are simplified to pressing Square. The most jarring mechanic was the targeting, which left something to be desired to say the least. I found myself suddenly beating an invisible wall too many times while in a fight sequence.

    Game Design/Experience: 3/10
    -The game design was lazy at best, insulting at worst. So many of the levels just felt like uninspired landscapes, one room after another. They tried to distract from it with fancy graphics (the graphics are phenomenal btw, especially considering it's on PS4), but I was seriously bored by too much of the world (I'm looking at you, Seattle hospital). They tried to make it interesting by packing the levels with lots of hostile entities, but they couldn't be bothered to even make more than like 4 runner models, I was killed by the same asian female zombie like 20 times throughout the game. The AI periodically flicks a switch from being able to see through walls, to standing directly in front of the player without noticing them. The gore is over the top and frankly disgusting, they way overdid it.

    Story: 2/10
    -In my opinion, the first game was lacking in the character development department. TLOU2 killed off the only dynamic character from the first game within 2 hours. They tried to make Ellie more interesting by introducing Dina, but it was like they expected me to have a bond with her after 1 sex scene, it just wasn't there. speaking of sex, there was way too much sexual energy in this title. Too many times it felt as if I was playing a fan fiction. Someone at Naughty Dog seriously needed some sexual relief before they got their hands on the script. The alternate story arc with Abby was completely disinteresting, especially when it was told in the backwards manner they went with. I kept asking myself "when will this part end?" only to be met with more and more of Abby's backstory. Maybe I could have opened up a bit if the story were told in chronological order and the story writers introduced more of Abby BEFORE she killed the only character I really liked from the first game. The entire last section in California felt like it was just a rehash of what we had seen over and over again before, and did nothing to add any closure to the story. The first game had me on the verge of sobbing at the end, this title merely had me crying over the 17 hours I had wasted. I wouldn't be surprised if I heard tomorrow the script-writing team was a collaboration between a teenage wattpad writer and an 8th grade Promising Young Writers award runner-up. If the title were rushed I'd be more understanding, but this stink bomb was 7 years in the making.

    Final Note: There's been a lot of debate over the topic of "forced diversity" regarding this title. Let me preface this by saying that I am a homosexual man, certainly not someone that's threatened by the "homosexual agenda." It was obvious from playing that too much of the game was just put in to score "woke points." There was no tact at all with how Naughty Dog introduced these elements, It honestly felt like a parody. The backlash this title has recieved is indicative of how poorly executed it was. If the goal is to normalize all sexual orientations in video games, its not going to be achieved by smashing a rainbow-textured hammer through all the pillars of good game design.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Last of Us Part 2 is a fantastic game, and one that I plan to play again. Having played The Last of Us only days before playing this, I can confidently say that TLOU2 has much better gameplay, both in terms of the crafting and combat experiences. The game felt unrelenting and stressful as well as capturing the atmosphere of being in an apocalypse very well. Progression of enemies from the first game was also very nice, with more enemies both in the living and undead. One unique boss fight in particular stood out to me as being particularly challenging and scary.
    The game ran well on my gen 1 PS4, with the optimization being better than with games like BFV or COD MW. As expected, the graphics of the game are beautiful, allowing for a fairly accurate representation of Seattle to be portrayed.

    Ellie and Joel:
    The story of this game is very different from the first installment in this series. While the first game was about Joel becoming a father figure to Ellie, the second takes a completely different direction. I went into the game without expectations for the story. I think it struck the correct cords with me when I was playing it. The twists were unexpected but necessary in my opinion. We already got a game about Joel, and this game is about Joel as well, but the memory and shadow of what he did in the last game. His death gave the story meaning. The character which kills him, a woman by the name of Abby, is one that you hate at first, but then come to appreciate and side with in the end.
    What people need to recognize is that what Joel did at the end of the first game was not the right thing to do. He ended the chance for a vaccine to save the human species, and he killed the people necessary to revive such an effort. His actions were selfish, all though understandable. His fate is one that isn't entirely undeserved.
    The ending of the game leaves a bitter taste in your mouth. There is no Hollywood ending, no happiness at the end, only pain and suffering, all brought upon Ellie by herself. She had it all, a loving wife, a kid, a farm, and she chose to give it up to chase a chance at revenge. She received closure, but at the cost of her entire life.
    Abby and the WLF:
    Abby's story and gameplay are markedly different than Ellie's. Her gameplay is much more combat-focused, with an emphasis on going balls to the wall gun-running and loud approaches. I think that this shift in gameplay helps with the pacing of her section because her story is lacking. Her motivations for a large part of the story are weak, and the side characters in her story are rather cookie cutter. However, that being said her story gives context to the greater Seattle story, and to the war that is brewing between the WLF and the Seraphites.
    The "Agenda"
    Apparently, many people seem to be under the impression that there is an agenda to TLOU 2. Ellie is gay, which we already knew thanks to Left Behind, and has a bisexual girlfriend who eventually becomes her wife. Her sexuality and love story is as in your face as any other, and really I could care less about it. Had it been a man she was with it would have been a similar story, albeit with some changes to character motivation.
    What I'm surprised people aren't talking about is the side character Lev in Abby's portion of the story. In-game, you learn that the former Seraphite was a young girl who changed their name and shaved their head. Seraphite enemies call the child Lily or "the apostate", and regard them as an enemy of the cult. This really didn't get in the way too much, however, it was a plot point and motivator for Lev's side of the story. That being said, it didn't really bother me or get in the way of the story at all.

    The story, while strong for a video game such as this, was definitely a 9/10 for me, and didn't come close to the 10/10 that TLOU 1 was for me. The different vibe and emotions felt were a good change of pace from the last and offered a different experience from TLOU1. I give this game a 9/10. Unrelenting and tough, this game is an experience that I would recommend.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Last of Us Part 2 has amazing graphics, a gameplay pretty much just like the TLOU 1, a **** character development and a ****tier plot. Joel's death was necessary, but the way it happened, how it happened was a fiasco. Joel was a veteran of that world, fought for decades in that horrible environment. Joel didn't trust people right of the bat, but with Abby, he just straight up gave his REAL name and went to where Abby's group was located... Joel's death was even more meaningless for the fact he didn't even know who Abby was... Joel died to a **** random ass person in his point of view!!! That's why he would never trust someone just like that!!! Joel deserved a better a way to go... And then after having Joel die like that, you have to play as **** Abby. Abby is not a sympathetic character and I can't come close to like her. She kills Jesse like if he was a random, blows **** TOMMY'S HEAD like he was a waste of a character... I have so much that I wanna say about this game, but every time I think from beginning to end, finding things to say, my blood just boils... Naughty Dog, you have ruined the best story driven game ever created. **** you. Expand

This game is amazing, don’t listen to the hate. Unfortunately if you’ve seen the leaks and formed an opinion already, you will be too far gone. I loved this game. The gameplay is bigger, longer and uncut compared to the first game. The environments are huge- a lot more to explore, read all the journal entries and notes left in this beautifully detailed world to better understand characters motivations and story arcs. If you’ve played the first game there’s not much difference gameplay wise, just bigger environments and new enemy types. The environments do change the combat and stealth as there are so many more areas to hide and climb higher to get the advantage on these large groups. The sound is phenomenal, my house rattled from the intense scenes to the eerie clicks of the infected. Voice acting is second to none with naughty dogs motion capture enhancing every scene.

    Story is unforgivingly savage in its decisions- whilst it can make you angry, you are supposed to feel that way. The only problem I have is the pacing between story and gameplay compared to the first game. There was enough gameplay between the story cut scenes in the first game to keep you completely invested the whole way through. Whilst I was invested in part 2, the areas are much larger now with enemies spread throughout which can really slow the motivation before the next story segment. Not to say there isn’t anything interesting in these long areas- the characters are constantly talking to each other and giving backstory as you explore. As much as the pacing was a slug sometimes- I still loved it, as there was so much to do and see that I was impressed in how much effort and love was put in this game. If you’ve managed to stay away from the spoilers and you’re trying to form an opinion on this game. Buy it and try it for yourself, you will find this game is amazing if you soak it in and take your time playing every inch of it. If you’ve seen the spoilers and jumped on the butthurt wagon....you’ve missed out on an amazing game and you have no one to blame but yourself.

    Though the pacing was off I still enjoyed every second of it- it’s just not as tight as the first game. Definitely worth every penny and I applaud naughty dog for taking risks where most Game companies play it safe. I feel for everyone involved in making this game that have had people bomb the reviews over story choices.

    First ever review to defend this awesome game.

It's a refreshing title between dozens of AAA games that are always the same where they play it safe with the same generic characters and plot over and over, here they took bold and unpopular decisions, that made me feel conflicted, but in the end, I understood why they did it and I'm glad they did it this way because all the choices of the characters make them human and realistic. It's an unfair and cruel story, but we're playing in a post-apocalyptic world, so if it was done in a different way it wouldn't be as good as it is now. I'll be playing many more times for sure.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Last Of Us was a masterpiece. Part II is just the game that I didn't like at first. Here's why: as a huge fan of Joel and Ellie I couldn't play as Abby, or even fight Ellie. She is a good character, but I think it was not enough to just show that zebra scene. Show us how she loved her father. 10-15 hours playing her line was an absolute nightmare. And that fight... Every time she punched Ellie I was like "ND please don't do it. Don't do it with me". At first, the ending was disappointed, but after replaying it I understood everything ND was trying to show. This is not a bad game. This is just the game people don't like. It's depressing, sad, but it's good. I just love Ellie so much that I can't imagine her being only by herself. It's sooo depressing for me.

    P.S. remember when Sam asked Ellie what were she scared of at part 1? "Being by myself...I'm afraid of ending up alone". Think about the ending of part 2 after that.

    For all those who played it and gave 2/10 or smt - give it a chance. Rethink about the whole game and things ND was trying to show.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The biggest theme in TLOUII isn’t revenge. It’s not hatred. It’s not loss, or grief, or anger, or any of things it looks to be at first glance. These things still obviously play a huge part in the story; they contribute to the characters’ actions and decisions, and they’re the things that drive the narrative. But they’re not the most important themes for the player.

    The most important theme in this game, that I have seen no other game explore in this detail, is perspective. And players who are open-minded and don’t allow themselves to be blinded by their own outlook, will appreciate the game for what it is.

    Without perspective, the game is over 2 hours in. You know from the point of Joel’s death where the rest of the story is going, and you know how it ends. You’ll guide Ellie through her revenge mission, and you’ll make Abby pay. Because it’s a video game and that’s how video games work. But TLOUII isn’t any other video game.

    You’re proven wrong, time and time again, thinking you’re reaching the end, only to first be given the unexpected second half of the game to play, and then another additional 2 hours on top of that the second time it appears to be coming to a close.

    That middle point, where the perspective changes and we start to see things through Abby’s eyes, is uncomfortable. As a player, it was easy to recognise Naughty Dog’s intentions to paint the “villain” in a different light. The goal was to have us eventually empathise with a character who, not 2 hours into the game, had killed a protagonist that we’ve known and loved for seven years. And as a player, I was sceptical it was going to work.

    As I did indeed grow to care for Abby, I felt a conflict within myself as I wrestled with what it meant. What did it mean that I was starting to like a character who had done such a horrific thing? It meant that Naughty Dog had accomplished what I can assume was what they intended to do: force me, as a player, to recognise how important perspective is and understand things from both sides.

    Was Abby killing Joel any more horrific that Joel killing Jerry? And not to mention, Jerry was killed in the process of Joel committing arguably the most horrific action of The Last Of Us’ story: depriving humanity of a cure. And I like Joel just fine.

    To Abby, Joel was the “bad guy” and her reasoning for believing so is the exact same reasoning that Ellie’s perspective brands Abby the “bad guy”. Neither character is “right” while the other is “wrong” and Naughty Dog did an absolutely phenomenal job of blurring that line, leading to my use of quotation marks; who’s “good” and who’s “bad” all depends on perspective.

    It was a risky move to place the player in control of someone they’re conditioned to hate from the near outset, and to expect them to come to understand her reasoning and empathise with her, and I can assume that this is the main reason a lot of players have found issue in the game, because for them it didn’t work. But for me personally, it was a powerful experience and I knew that the conflict I felt within myself as Abby grew to become my favourite character in the whole game, was intentional on Naughty Dog’s end.

    As far as the ending goes, I’ve seen a lot of people claim that the whole game was “for nothing”, but I think that these are the players who refused to budge on their own perspectives. They’d branded Abby the “villain” from the start and so she was supposed to die. They didn’t get their closure. But Ellie did. Abby did.

    That last flashback we get that covers Ellie and Joel’s last conversation is what prompts Ellie to let Abby go. Joel tells her that given the chance to deny humanity a cure again, he’d make the same choice. Ellie remarks that in her sacrifice, her life would’ve had meaning, and that she can’t ever forgive Joel for taking that from her. But that she’d like to try. This opportunity, to grow and find it within herself to forgive Joel, was taken from her when Abby took his life. But if Ellie wants to find it in herself to forgive Joel for doing arguably the worst thing a human being could’ve possibly done, maybe she can find it in herself to forgive the woman who killed him.

    In Ellie’s eyes, Joel’s death is given meaning in her decision to be better than him. Joel may make the same decision over and over given the chance, depriving Ellie the opportunity to have her life harbour meaning, but Ellie won’t. She has one chance, and she won’t make the same choice he did. She won’t remove the meaning from Joel’s death, the way Joel removed the meaning from her life.

    The whole sequence, the fight, the flashback, and Ellie’s decision to let Abby go was another phenomenal choice that Naughty Dog made in subverting expectations. We’ve all played video games before and we know how they go. but, like I said, TLOUII isn’t any other video game.

It feels so disgusting that they would lie like that about Joel's role in the game and then snatch the hope from us. The main motivation of Ellie could have been something to route for, like the GOW series, if the game wasen't as long as it was and if we weren't forcet to play as the main villan for 50% of the game.

    The main problem is the secund half of the game where you play as the bad guy and the game tries to humanize this person. It would be like playing as David from the first game and then trying to make him appealing, even thow he tries to make a little girl his own private toy and then try to slaughter her when she fights back. That guy is beyond redemption and we don't want to play as him, we want to shoot him.

    And the ending to The Last Of Us Part 2 is so dissatisfying, it would be like: in God of War 1, you didn't kill Ares in the end of the game becouse Kratos remembered his family. Ares is the reason why you are in such anger and pain, and you let him go? Why didn't thay let you have the choice of killing the main villan or letting her live in TLOU2? The ending would have been much better and rewarding. But the Game looks amazing, and the gameplay is quite fun and brings out memories from 7 years ago, a better time indeed.

If you don’t know the plot, you will be surprised by a lot of plot twists, and the game will definitely be able to leave your impressions. I didn’t notice the “propaganda” of LGBT people or Femenism, it is not so much to focus attention on this. I’ll say with confidence that the game aroused a lot of emotions in me, at some points I even let in a stingy tear. The game deserves to have a good rating and be a "Must Play". The graphics are pretty good, but lame at some points. Therefore, I put a solid eight. I apologize for some mistakes. Expand

    Strong captivating story that shows both sides. Emotionally painful and wholesome moments in balance with horribly gruesome post apocalyptic moments. This game is not what I expected it to be, but Naughty Dog did one hell of a job playing with my emotions in all the good and bad ways!

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Truly truly loved the game. The game is a masterpiece and it fully deserves it. People keep crying about playing with a character who we hate(Abby). How do you expect us to like her? That's exactly the thing, you aren't supposed to like her in the beginning.
    The game shows her in the beginning to be this villain that you are looking for to kill. And when you get to play with her your feelings of hatred towards her change, not to love, but to sympathy. You don't have to like her, but you need to understand that she's not just a villain, she is another human being who was also exacting revenge just as Ellie and that isn't wrong.
    As much as I loved Joel and hated Abby for killing him, she was just doing what Ellie is doing. And that's the game theme, to show you the story from 2 points of view. This perfect story that adds up and gets you confused and shook of why this is happening and if what you are doing is actually the right choice.

    Cons:
    * The end is not worth commenting on, I am simply disappointed with how the end was performed. As such, it is not terrible for me, but it is "poorly executed". Had they given us the right to choose it might have improved the impression;
    * Joel's death and treatment is simply disappointing to me, treated like some kind of NPC. When he already had to die, I expected it to be a dignified death, something in the style of Arthur Morgan;
    * the game is tiring at times, they should have shortened it by about 5-8 hours, and thus cut the price of the game itself;
    * too many unnecessary flashbacks;
    * versus the first sequel, the dialogues/stories in LoU2 seem empty, non-emotional to me and I just couldn't connect with the characters;
    * the story itself should have been arranged differently, maybe if we had just played with Abby first and then set out on a revenge campaign with Ellie, I guess that would have made some sense;

    Pros:
    * graphics that are really great for me and I'm thrilled with how they managed to push such graphics to the PS4;
    * the soundtrack/music in the game is phenomenal to me;
    * voice acting is great for me, especially when I hear Troy Baker;
    * gameplay may be out-dated to me, but I enjoyed it because I think there are more of these survival segments compared to its predecessors and I just enjoyed tacticing, sneaking around and thus removing enemies;
    * segments with Abby are even better for me in some parts than with Ellie, somehow I had a feeling that there was more to do/eliminate, also those segments were tenser, more challenging for me;

    Whether Abby is trans or not, I don’t know or care because I don’t think it’s that relevant in the whole story.
    Overall impression of me: 7/10.
    The weakest part of the game in my opinion is the story, which should have been better if they had been working on it for over 5 years and **** it, as they would say in sport “they dropped the ball”.
    I hope for the third part because I’m very interested in what would happen to the characters.

The story is compelling just as much as the first one if not more só and the gameplay is much more fluid and improved, the tension and danger remains strong in this one and I had my heart in my throat during the whole experiaence. The controversial choices the game does, it does them right. Inserting the two points of view makes the player understand that all humans are desperste and would go to extreme limits for their loved ones.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The plot is dense. Let's come up with a daughter or son for every NPC that Joel killed. And they all will kill him. But alright, I put up with it, move on. How should I empathize with Abby, she looks like a killing machine, she's always grim. Why is there no jokes or anything else in the game besides the memories with Joel to give the player a break from endless mourning and killing. Well, now let's talk about the end, and I have one question. Why the hell didn't you make a few endings. What is the whole point of the ending, why we have traveled so many miles, a huge number of people have died. Take and release Joel’s killer, are you serious?!? In technical terms, the game is good, I do not argue, but still this game is more about the plot, and here it is bad. I can’t understand why critics put this game at 10, the script of this game is a real arthouse, not everyone likes this game, I think that this game can only be put 7-8, and then with a stretch. To put 10, this game must be perfect, but it is not for everyone. I set 2 so that the developers change their minds and stop flirting with the LGBT community, and start making good games, like they did in the past.

Story - There’s two for the price of one here, and if people can accept this isn’t meant to be a pretty story line with Ellie and Joel then the sooner people realise what it’s about the sooner they’d enjoy it for what it is. The storylines revolve around pretty much the same scenario but the consequences of one character can and will directly effects the other. It’s seeing the same event but through different eyes. It’s tough to do but I think naughty dog have nailed it here. It’s mainly a story for hate and revenge, it sent me on a rollercoaster of emotions (hate, sad, happy, sympathy) and it feels like this part of the game hasn’t changed as I felt emotionally connected to all the characters.

    Character progression/weapon mods - it takes the original concepts and builds on them. There are more to your arsenal than you may think. In the first game, I never really used smoke grenades but here I’ve used everything in both Ellie’s and Abby’s arsenal (both characters are playable). I also like the fact their arsenal reflects them as characters, with Abby being more the militant character she gets more solider like abilities, Ellie is a scavenger and her arsenal and abilities reflect this. Level design - each level and encounter has multiple paths to take down enemies silently, this is found a very welcoming change. It built on the last of us where there maybe only one or two paths to take down enemies or the infected silently, here I think I could take 4 maybe 5 but if you alerted someone there was always somewhere to run and hide till the heat dies down. The level design and detail is fantastic you can appreciate the hard work naughty dog have done here. Characters - there are a host of new characters here. Their dialogue is well written, well acted and their individual personalities shine through very early on.

    Conclusion - This game definitely builds on the last, it takes its core and builds on it. The story is fantastic and well written, but DO NOT expect a pretty story and is very dark at times. The whole controversy of LBGTQ stuff never really bothered me at all it’s not thrown in your face. Just because a character is of that sexual orientation doesn’t mean they’ve done it because they’re trying to highlight an issue, it’s just the characters personality. Ellie is more masculine than female and being of her sexual orientation only highlights this. Despite the praise I have given TLOU part 2, there are some little negatives that I’d like to highlight. At time’s the Abby story does drag on a little too long for my liking, this doesn’t however mean I don’t like the character cause I do. I just feel one of the areas we have to get out of just drags a little but the level design it’s self is very well crafted and executed. The only other negative is sometimes the back story of the two characters jumps a little all of the place. They’re well written and a joy to play but sometimes it didn’t quite make sense to have a teenage years scene when it happened. For me it’s a must play, if you can oversee some of the negativity it’s been harshly given and take it for what it is then you’ll massively enjoy it. Don’t think this is a nicey nice games after the events of the first game cause it isn’t.

    The first section of this review is spoiler-free. I will include a huge spoiler-alert before entering the sections containing spoilers, so don’t worry.

    As most of the critics already said, the graphics and level designs are great. Many different areas, very versatile looks, every shot could be a wallpaper, beautiful details, skin looks very realistic, motion capture is awesome and was also used for in-game situations. Gameplay works as known from the first part, fun puzzles that are not too hard, great fights with zombies and humans, you can almost always choose whether you want to go stealth or all in. All in all very fluent and realistic gaming experience.

    I am actually shocked about the bad reviews the game got in the first days after release regarding the story. Many were disappointed. I am not. For me this is the best ND piece so far.
    Who wants the well-known narrative of two disturbed characters trying to reach a destination together and growing together emotionally, should clearly play Part 1 again. As Part 2 is really different. Zombie apocalypse is no bed of roses. Part 2 is emotionally difficult, the characters are twisted, things are dark and mean. And things are not only emotionally demanding for the characters, but also for gamers. ND is showing once more that they dare to go new ways, also story-wise. They show that events and characters are not only one dimensional, good or evil, black or white. So for me many parts of the game were not easy to emotionally process, but i loved the challenge and was not disappointed in the end.

    !!!!!!
    !!!!!! SPOILER ALERT !!!!!! STOP READING !!!!!!
    !!!!!!

    In the last scenes of Part 1 for me it was already clear, that there would be no funny-and-happy-walking-around-with-lovely-Ellie-and-Joel stuff. A conflict was already established, as Joel lied to Ellie. So I was prepared for going solo with one of them from the start. Joel's violent death was shocking but necessary to pave the road for the story, ND wanted to tell us: a revenge story with a huge twist.

    We are used to one-dimensional stories, that give us guidelines of who to love as a character and who to detest, whose goals are rightful and whose death is fair or unfair. When Joel went in to rescue Ellie out of love at the end of Part 1 we tend to forget that his killings might have consequences as well, that he is not only lovable, that he might take the lives of many people, who are loved and lovable as well.
    And that's what we see in Part 2: Both Ellie and her “antagonist” Abby do very gruesome and inhumane things, both kill and hurt for goals that seem fair to them. The game gives us insights in both sides of the story and makes it possible to see both strong characters as human beings with huge flaws but also great human qualities.
    Don’t get me wrong: at the beginning for me it was really hard to play Abby. I was angry to play the person, that killed Joel. I jumped off many high places with her to see her hurt ;)
    And time after time I opened up for her perspective and her goals. I understood that Joel and Ellie also make up for great antagonists who do detestable stuff.

    All in all I could write a whole book as a review, as there are so many things that came to my mind. But after I think I covered the main issue for the bad reviews just a few last fast thoughts:

    con

    The character of Dina was indeed very flat and didn’t manage to establish an emotional relationship

    I would have liked a few more overlapping events with Abby’s and Ellie’s story lines

    ending came too abruptly, was very sad

    pro

    Love the diversity in the story: gay love, very strong female characters, transgender issues, ethnic variety, criticism of extremist groups that suppress different ideologies

    Lovely building of relationship between Abby and Lev

    Story open for Part 3 :)

    Masterpiece, it's hard to accept the whole story, but this is what makes it really good.

    The pacing of the story is really bad. The story in it self is decent, apart from some major plot holes and ludicrus decisions. But if ND had many ideas for the sequel, why this Is the one they wanted to tell.

    他媽的爛劇情,欺騙玩家購買,當初劇情洩漏相信公司CEO的說法,不去看洩漏的劇情,現在相當後悔,早知道去看就不會浪費錢去買這塊垃圾作

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I am writing this review as I have just beaten the game I am honestly physically hurting from playing the last of us 2 I went into the last of us 2 hoping it would be better than what most people were saying I was god wrong this game is beyond horrible there are no words for how bad this game is the gameplay itself is solid but I cannot fathom how this game was even put out considering the story and how awfully the characters are written this game should not have been made honestly they should've just kept it with the last of us 1, lets start with the characters 1:ellie she is no longer an interesting character they made no effort to have her change except "joel you should've let them kill me at the hospital!!!!!!!" dina:she literally has like 5 lines in the game she was wasted potential joel and tommy are still exactly the same except joel gets treated dirty and dies within 2 HOURS of the games beginning completely heartbreaking how they just kill him off like that. abby:awful character her motives literally make no sense joel shot and killed her dad in the hospital cause he wouldn't give him ellie so she tracks down tommy and joel and brutally slowly and mercilessly tortures joel then gets mad at ellie for trying to kill her because she "lEt hEr liVe" like you murdered basically her dad and now she comes back for revenge??? like who would expect someone to do that. the ending is the worst video game ending in history ellie rescues abby then says "im not letting you leave" and they fight for like 5 minutes and ellie just drowns her hops off then lets her leave the game tries to justify ellie doing that by showing a flashback of her and joel sitting on a porch drinking coffee but instead of getting revenge for the murder of joel she just simply lets them go theres a difference between letting go of the past and just letting a murderer live basically what the end says to me is "we are lazy take this ending as ellie letting go of the past and not letting revenge consume her" but in reality its just a huge slap in the face to people who grew up with and played the last of us 1 completely utterly awful ending. graphically the game is pretty the boat and horse sections are cool and some of the puzzles are alright half of the game takes place in a rainy setting which kinda sucks but it was still pretty looking the end was espescially pretty looking with the sun being out it definitely makes for a happier mood for the game. in my last words I hope naughty dog just makes the most of what they have now and just learn from there mistakes and never hire neil druckmann again and continue on for a more brighter path maybe another uncharted game will bring the love back for naughty dog but to me this game is a travesty to everyone who played the last of us 1 and any other naughty dog game and I don't know if il ever purchase another naughty dog product I probably will but I don't know if il spend a full 60 like I did on this game but I think naughty dog will hopefully bounce back after this game and continue back where they were after uncharted 4 (I think?) the game they released before they announced the last of us 2 I sincerely hope they don't continue to dig a hole for themselves by sponsoring this game and misleading people about what the game is really about. this game truly had potential maybe they will make a DLC that clears some things up and continues parts of the story that people didn't like I give this game a 1 the only reason it gets a one is because of the gameplay mechanics and graphics without all that its a zero i would not recommend this game at a 60 dollar price at all not even a 20$ price i actually would recommend replaying the last of us 1 or replaying the entire uncharted series cause this game has left a horrid taste in my mouth that needs to be removed with good naughty dog games Expand

    This had so much potential. It's sad to see characters from the first movie make completely out of sync decisions. You know Joel from the last of us? The guy that could spot an ambush cos it didn't feel right? Well now he just walks into the middle of a room with a bunch of strangers. Also, they added a dodge button, aside from that, not any improvement to combat. They've done well withThis had so much potential. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. First off! The game looks and sounds fantastic! The only complaint here is the somewhat flickery frame rate. Especially when you pan the camera around the caracter, and therefore more annoying in fight scenes.

    (i played on a ps4 pro) It took me 26 hours to finish the game.
    It's easily one of the best looking games on the platform, and sometimes visually reminds me of Red Dead Redemption 2 I am one of those that did not bother to read or watch anything about the leaked films or story spoilers. This is why things took a turn for the worse 3 hours in fpor me. You see.. im not a hateful bigoted person. I have no problems whatsoever with any of the HBTQ topics of this game or other games. What i do have a problem with in story driven games like last of us is a poorly written story. The story and plot in The Last Of Us Part 2 is filled with confusing annoying jumps between caracters, plot holes, and the new caracters are some of the most boring lot of people to ever to emerge in a AAA title. Joel was the hero of this game, and to have him beaten to death by some caracters and then let Abby (boring caracter that looks like a mix between Hulk Hogan and a hockey mom) that beats him to death be a playable caracter får a big part of the remaining game. That alone is just a spit in the face for the fans of the series. From there on the game is just repetitive for 22 hours, and some big parts so bad i allmost fell asleap. No pusdle solving.. Just killing people in a repetitive way.. The ending is really stinkin bad aswell.. Why a beautiful grandiose game like this gets a stressed poorly written storyline like this beats me? Don't kill the hero after 2 hours in such a meaningless way.. You dont kill Mario, You dont kill Lara Croft, you dont kill Joel and replace him with a bunch if people with ZERO character. It's quite obvious that parts of naughty dog got infiltrated by a leader with a woke agenda, and wanted to stir things up a bit. That's not the problem here. You could have made a story that fits your morals and agenda without f*cking up the entire game.. But sorry baughty dog. You failed bad on this one!
    The last of us 2 is a dissapointing game in so many ways. It did NOTHING to me in terms of emotions or curiosity.. Its just a 25 hour long visually beautiful and really bad and repetitive sleeping pill of a "AAA title"

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.

    If you loved the original for its great characters and well-paced story – stay away from this game. However, if you’re aching to sink into the depths of depression, or just want to cut some throats and burn some zombies – Part II will deliver. [Issue#247, p.72]
