    Naughty Dogs has done it again. Graphics, gameplay, story, characters, all 10 points.
    Very humanized. Don't expect a happy ending because The Last Of Us is not what it wants you to believe, it is what it is.

    this game is really good , not the best ever but deserve a very good note , guys that spend their time saying it worth 0 are dumbb or never played any videogame this few years that's it , good gameplay/technic good story telling and wonderfull face animation . 35h of fun and no microtransactions , what could you ask more ?

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. If this game were a stand alone with new characters never seen before it could maybe be a 7 or 8, but as a sequel to such a great game using well established and loved characters which it treats so poorly, I feel it deserves a 4 or 5.

    The graphics are exceptional and the world is fun to explore; the environment puzzles feel like they've taken a step up from the last game with the addition of jumping/ropes. The gameplay and atmosphere is good enough to keep me entertained even if it isn't revolutionary and hasn't changed much since the last game.

    However, this is a story based game and with all the relationship drama (two love triangles?) inserted throughout I felt like I was playing a soap-opera. The entirety of Abby's section, especially the Yara and Lev on the island parts, felt like gameplay filler that really added nothing to the story.

    The adverts and trailers were specifically altered to make people believe Joel was in the game for longer than he was which is a cheap trick on the fans. With Joel gone so early on, the thing which made the first game so great (Joel and Ellie's relationship) is wiped away and replaced with brand new characters that try to fill that gap he left in the game. No matter how well performed, they are never going to fill that vacuum.

    The kicker for me is how the game tries so hard to make us empathise with Abby yet shows her as a bloodthirsty killer who is happy to murder a pregnant woman. Joel and Tommy go out of their way to save her multiple times in the beginning yet there's no nuance to how she behaves during the death scene or even afterwards when they are back in Washington. She doesn't take time to evaluate that Joel, who she thought was evil, risked his own life to selflessly save hers even though she was a stranger. She goes straight from accepting his help multiple times to happily torturing him, and we're supposed to like her enough to play as her for half the game. My heart sank when I first picked up pills as Abby and realised I was going to play as her for a long time.

    I feel bad giving such a low score because i loved the first game but as far as i'm concerned this game is 100% NOT canon.

    Also, there's no Factions MP which was a surprisingly fun addition in the first instalment.    … Expand

    90% of the negative reviews you will read are for having introduced in 2020 modern themes such as a gay kiss, reviews without having played the game and that speak of nothing. MEDIOEVO

    IF you play this game you will find a better storyline than many beautiful holliwood films, A storytelling from oscar, whether you like it or not the ending is a TRUE story accompanied by Awesome graphics.

Clearly, the director Neil Druckman wrote the story as both a way to spite the former Naughty dog writer Amy Henig, who was the writer for the Last of Us 1. Killing off a beloved character, self inserting himself into the story and having a full on sex scene with this new 'Abby' character is a big middle finger to fans of the franchise and to the previous writer. Most of the 'game' is linear storytelling with very little game play aside from 'go along this path to hear the characters talk.' Ontop of that, the plot is obviously pandering towards the LGBTQ movement at the cost of depth and character design. A character is not interesting merely because they are gay. As a gay man, I really wish that companies like this would act like their product is good merely because they feature something/someone LGBTQ related. To make this dumpster fire of a 'game' worse, there is a large segment of the game that forces you to play as Joel's murderer, Abby, and attempts to make you empathize with her. "Here, the character you loved is dead because we didn't like them, now play as this new character we added just for the sake of controversy and for our writer/director Neil Druckman to have sex with." God. Awful. It's easy to see who actually played this game and saw how awful the narrative is, and who was paid by Naughty Dog to give it a good review.… Expand

After 1.5 hours I was crying like a baby. Whyyy? 'cause my favorite character was joel and he died. At the end of the game we were killing the murderer of Joel (Abby) and we just leave her. and we lost 2 fingers!!!… Expand

    Эбби как персонаж мне так же понравилась.
    Очень понравилось то, что нам дали посмотреть на события с обеих сторон.    Игра мне понравилась, даже очень. Интересные персонажи, напряжённые и эмоциональные сцены, разные мелкие детали, делающие мир и его обитателей живыми. Всё очень классно.
    Эбби как персонаж мне так же понравилась.

La jugabilidad es buena, buenos gráficos y excelente banda sonora, pero des afortunadamente no estamos jugando en un mundo abierto, nos rige una historia que por cierto es mala. Sumando que para adquirir el juego en América Latina son varios días de salario mínimo. No me queda mas que esperar el multijugador.
    Mi opinión no tiene un sueldo de por medio, soy un consumidor, el fin de producir un juego es que sea comprado por los jugadores.    … Expand

I agree that some early story elements where disappointing and the fact that we just didn’t see it coming does not make it good writing. Still, it is not a bad game, it has character development, gameplay mechanics and graphics are much better than the previous game (this for some reason I’ve heard many people disagree with, I don’t understand why, like really? The graphics from part 1 which a 7 year old game is much better than this one, now you’re just making up excuses), it has a some horror sections that I believe even surpass similar sections from part 1. I played Last of us part 1, I love the game. I even got the platinum trophy, which is not something you get in just one or two playthroughs. I don’t believe that we should kill this game simply because of the death of our favorite character, Joel (Which we knew was going to happen, it just happened way before we expected). If you wanted more Ellie and Joel time then please continue playing the game and you’ll get some heart worming, action packed and revealing section with those like you wanted.… Expand

    JUEGAZO: personajes, historia, gráficos, todo al máximo nivel, el único pero que le veo es que es muy cruel y al ser tan realista a veces no sabes si estas viendo una pelicula o una historia real. Por lo demás juegazo. Ojala la gente valorase los juegos por su contenido y no por factores externos.

La verdad es que cualquiera podría pensar que hubo Lobby con el tema del "progresismo con este juego, pero seamos sinceros, desde el TLOU2 se sabía que Ellie era Lesbi, personalmente no me molesta que lo sea y creo que a nadie le debiera importar. O sea como dice mi abuela, debería importarte una raja lo que una persona se meta por el culo. El problema es que está muy... MUY forzado. Es como si te trataran de estúpido, cosa que evidentemente está mal, porque estamos hablando de el motivo del porqué estás jugando al TLOU2, porque seguramente vienes de jugar el 1 y quedaste con ganas de saber qué cresta ha pasado. ¿Era necesario hacerlo de esa manera? ¿Tan dificil fue hacer que no se sintiese forzado?

    Con el tema de la historia y las filtraciones, nuevamente fue un golpe en las pelotas. Sabíamos que Joel moriría pero... eso ocurre muy pronto!!! Es entonces el real propósito del juego? hacer que Ellie cobre venganza ante un personaje que la prensa NO QUISO Hablar o dar a conocer?? Y para rematar dicha venganza ni ocurre, Le perdona la vida a alguien que prácticamente fue su papá y el por qué la gente quería jugar al condenado juego.

    Estoy en Shock, por último haberse demorado un poquito más en dar la opción a lo tell tale games de decidir si "vive o muere" al menos, pero ya desperdiciaron la oportunidad y lo peor es que hay más que contar, pero se me hará largo la review y no quiero que sea mucho texto.

    Apartado gráfico: Bueno, nada que decir, queda por debajo a otras entregas pero los gráficos en mi opinión me importa poco, mientras que su jugabilidad sea bueno y entretenido. Está bien.

    Jugabilidad: Más de lo mismo, sigilo, muertes que pareciera que debes sentirte mal por matar a los humanos, que los infectados basicamente son un segundo plano nomás, acá lo importante es echarse a los humanos. Violencia siempre ha tenido este juego en todo caso, pero igual es muy lineal, en TLOU1 te motivaba ver por ejemplo qué cosas hacía ellie y lo que dice, lo que revisa, estar atento, pero acá no existe eso, exploración en un mundo lineal muy bajo.

    Música... bueh... en mi opinión no supera al 1 en este aspecto.

    En terminos generales incluso puedes sentir que es como si lo hubiesen desarrollado dos grupos distintos, es muy rara esa sensación y para los que lo hayan jugado se habrán dado cuenta.

    Si sumara todo los aspectos tanto positivos como negativos que he mencionado, debiera poner una nota 2 como mucho, pero dado a que la prensa vendida tuvo que mentirnos a nosotros, los que dimos dinero al comprar este juego para que nos dieran una especie de clases de moralidad, simplemente es una patada en el trasero con punta de acero y con púas, la muerte de Joel para los fans será horrible y su conclusión creerás que te están bromeando, pero no lo es, ya no decir que no sé si por temas de dinero por parte de sony hacia la prensa, omitieron información muy importante sobre el juego, cosa que duele porque al final no puedes confiar en quienes se suponen deben ser personas a quienes debes de confiar en su palabra. Ya no son confiables.

    Lamentablemente igual hacen reviewer bombing por parte de que existe una minoría que les molesta esto de los SJW pero son eso, poca gente, acá el tema es a cómo destruyeron una historia que bien podría haber sido una obra maestra.

    Debieran ser más honestos. Por eso debo no ponerles el 2, sino un 0.

Unfortunately, the game is bogged down by a story that suffers greatly. The pacing is weak, character development is very poor, and feels forced and unfufilling. Plot points are forgotten, or poorly handled, as well as the ending being extremely lackluster and void of reason. There are many who rate the game so low simply because of certain themes, but when playing the game itself, these 'SJW" themes are non-existent and handled very well. Overall, The last of us two is an incredible game, with a poor and lazy story. If you're a fan of the first, or love the world itself, I would recommend it for the experience itself, only when the game is eventually on sale. Overall, it is a technical marvel, but will be remembered for it's poor storytelling which does a disservice to The last of us brand, which should have been left alone after the first installment.… Expand

É um game repleto de surpresas positivas e negativas. Gameplay magnífica, com pouquíssimos erros, uma história que te emociona de inicio ao fim. Está sendo muito criticado pelos users, por não ser um game que segue um endereço diferente de muitos jogos. The Last Of Us Parte 2 é simplesmente um game imprevisível, emocionante, que conseguirá de alguma forma afetar você por dentro, com o objetivo de prender na trama e sentir empatia pelos personagens. É um GAME de partir corações e emocionar muitas pessoas, diferente do primeiro GAME que foi nos dado uma esperança sobre os personagens principais, ja o segundo além de mostrar como a vida é dura e fria, ele ainda nos mostra todas as consequências das ações dos personagens. Entendo quem queria uma história diferente do GAME, pois os criadores optaram por escolher uma historia baseado no ódio e perda, algo que muitos não esperam e não queriam. Mas dou meu parabéns pela Naughty Dog, por ter simplesmente mostrado a historia mais emocionando e linda que o jogo pode ter. Com certeza esse jogo vai partir corações, assim como partiu o meu, mas eu vi que era preciso para criar algo que afete o player. Esse GAME me afetou mais pois me deu um toque profundo, que todos a nossa volta pode ir a qualquer momento, e ninguém sabe a hora de ninguém. Mais uma vez queria agradecer a Naughty Dog, por me mostrar a história mais emocionante e linda que eu pude ver.

I have waited 7 years to know how this amazing story would develop... first of all, Ellie never even got the chance to truly apolagize Joel, keeping in mind that the only thing he did has SAVE HER, over and over again. Then the game goes to a path where one of the most beloved characters dies in such a miresable way. I was so shock that I didn't even know if i would like to continue playing. Joel deserved vengeance. The only goal Ellie had on tis game was to kill all of the people that had helped to murder Joel in such a brutal way, and she didn't even had the guts to do that. And by the ending of the story, Joel is dead, Tommy almost died, Ellie lost her family and two fingers for NOTHING. All these years waiting, and this is what we get? I'm devastated.
    So many hours playing as Abby, knowing that she killed one of my favorite characters.
    The gameplay is really nice, the graphics are awesome... but is that the only thing that should matter? What about actually having an AWESOME development of the story? This is painful.    … Expand

    Make me kill a caracter i love and play as the bad guy (girl) is probably the most stupid narrative move you guys could make.

    Despite the review bombing and the just blatant bandwagon that people are on, this game is EXTREMELY good. The story is decent and the game play is amazing. They made it very, very clear that Ellie was going to endure an incredible loss at the hands of a new enemy, and that the entire plot of the game would be based around her desire for retribution. ND also spoke a lot about how revenge affects those around you, how it can turn into a cycle, they wanted you to feel sympathy for those you were hurting, etc etc.

    I watched Abby bash Joel's head in with a golf club, and I thought there was no way I would buy into that narrative for a single moment, because this random character that we've known for ten minutes killed one of my favorite characters in one of the most brutal ways possible. I wanted her dead. I wanted revenge just as much as Ellie did. I was ready to kill every NPC in my path.

    By the end of the game, this isn't what I wanted at all. In fact, I didn't know what I wanted. I just knew that I wanted all of them to stop hurting and finally get the peace they deserved.

    Without going into too much detail about Abby, I couldn't stand her at the beginning. I didn't want to play as her. I didn't want to "grow to like her". I wanted to find her and I wanted to strangle her for taking Joel away from us. And then they delved into her backstory, they forced us into her shoes, and I found myself breaking under that strain. For all that I had insisted I wouldn't find sympathy for her, I did.

    TLOU2 was, once again, a masterclass in storytelling, just as its predecessor was. It was thought provoking, gut wrenching, and so heartbreakingly melancholy at times I found myself crying at the happier moments more than the grief. I can't imagine it being written any other way, and I adore this game with all of my heart. They truly outdid themselves in subverting the tropes of a heavily saturated genre.    … Expand

    First of, the only good thing in this game and the only reason I gave at least a 1, the graphics and gameplay. The environment props are great as well as the general models and textures. The gameplay is well implemented and the overall controls are good, but not that much of an improvement to Part 1.

    Now the things that make me rate this game low.

    Story:
    I have 2 big problems with the story and storytelling
    The story is kinda okay, but a huge disappointment if you expect anything like Part 1. Especially the immersion is really bad. Along with some questionable decisions, like killing the Main-Character of Part 1 with whom you played 90% of the time within the first 2 hours of a 25h+ game. Everybody knew he eventually would die, but not like this. I mean, come on, you can't just kill a fan favorite like this - every half-decent storywriter would do a better job. And no, flashbacks later in the game do not make it a less bad decision. Those almost do not matter to the player anymore because the character is already gone, so you should do it the other way around. Then you even have to play the character that has killed Joel for multiple hours, aw come on! And obviously the ending, in short: Ellie can't forgive Joel for saving her life, but she can forgive Abby for torturing and killing her father figure, shooting Tommy in the eye, killing Jesse and trying to kill Dina (her lover)? This is more than a questionable move and makes no sense at all!

    Game:
    No multiplayer! I liked the multiplayer and also the concept of the MP in Part 1 a lot, I played it at least 200h+ and had lots of fun and frustration. An improved MP, fixing and balancing some stuff of Part 1, would have been a great addition.

    Non-game / outside factors:
    The leaks and handling those - Druckmann denies the leaks are true and in the actual game, a lot of them are in fact true and in the game!
    The controversy with the employee bonuses and how bad the crunch apparently was.
    The way Sony and Naughty Dog abused the DMCA.

    Conclusion:
    Overall a technically okay game, nothing special.
    Graphics do not make a game like TLOU succeed, its the story - and the story here is written bad and does not give the player any sort of immersion.
    No multiplayer at all, disappointing. Especially with bad storytelling like this.
    Lot's of outside factors, all of them did not favor Naughty Dog or the TLOU at all. Rethink your PR.

    I advise not to buy this game, this game nor the company does deserve your money. if you are interested in the story - watch some Streamer's playthrough.    … Expand

I can readily admit that the character death within the first two hours shocked and jarred me. I had seen this particular leak prior to playing the game but I did not expect it to happen so soon. After telling myself that it's dumb to not want to continue or care I kept playing and boy was I not disappointed. The type of story that Naughty Dog has set up is ambitious, and it's not one that the fans wanted and to me, I think that's what makes it all the more interesting. This game was made to cause controversy and conversation. It also allowed me to zoom out on Ellie and Joel's story and reflect on the world of The Last of Us as a whole. So many moral questions were posed and in addition to this, everyone in the game seemed to be an antagonist and protagonist at the same time which is what made it all the more interesting. They somehow managed to do this while still allowing me to not love Ellie and Joel any less.

    Further, besides the amazing storytelling, the gameplay was so fun and so much more developed than the first game. As someone who plays games for a cinematic experience as well as a challenge and for fun, I found it absolutely enthralling. The mechanics are so practical and it feels so grounded and real.

    Of course the game has it's flaws, especially during the second half, there were some lull points to the story and gameplay, but once I got through those tiny portions, it was right back into the action.

    Please don't let leaks or super negative reviews from people who haven't played the game all the way through effect whether you want to play this game! Regardless if you end up liking the story or not, the questions you are going to pose to yourself and the emotions you feel throughout the game will be one like no other. Great work ND!    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Took me around 24hrs from start to finish, I completely understand the divide surrounding this title. But let me explain my perspective, yeah the pacing is a bit off but considering what they've tried to accomplish here i don't see any other way of putting this together apart from how ND did it here, there's probably a way but that's for the future discussions I'd say. It's very hard at times to play as Abby after you see what happens to set off Ellie's trip to Seattle, but I believe this was better than having her just looming in notes or radio transmissions just to get to see her at the very end, or popping in and out without much of consequence to the overall story. I believe the whole package is a probably the heaviest to consume in this medium, I was torn apart time and time again, but I believe that's part of the point ND might be trying to show the player. I had to pause and sit back to think about some decisions that were made, but after doing some thinking I saw the point in all of it, maybe not the way it was intended but it worked out for me. It took me roughly 2 hours after finishing the game to digest the whole thing and decide where I was at for the whole thing as an experience. I believe this is a great game, great story with a lot of intricate ideas and as I mentioned pacing is a bit off so it can **** with you a bit at times. But looking back you can see that for some reason nor Abby nor Ellie really can go through with killing one another, they keep letting one another go, if my memory is not playing tricks on me they both let each other live twice thus far in the story. Ellie is haunted by memory of Joel, and it plays the biggest part at the end, I still not quite sure what it meant.. I know it wasn't forgiveness like a lot of people seem to claim shouting of their soap boxes. Another thing I noticed some coverage say that Joel and Ellie or one or the other is a Hero in a first title, to that I must say it seems like you've not finished the game or you're remembering it wrong, first title showed us that there's not a lot of good people in that universe, and sure as hell Joel, Ellie, Bill, Tommy or anyone else that is close to them is a Hero. That is what I loved so much about the first title, and I enjoy the fact that this was pushed even further in this title. This game will make you angry , sad, confused with lights of hope every now and again, it's a dark story, it's not for a faint of heart..
    This title in my believe is a stand out, I believe this is the game that people will discuss for many months if not years. I couldn't recommend this enough.    … Expand

    EDIT: I finished the game, I wouldn't recommend it for the story the plot is shambled and creates characters that you don't give a a **** about in any capacity. I wanted to love this game . I loved it at first even saying it's a 9/10. However it's just not good and it makes me sad that it isn't

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'm going to completely ignore the people who review bombed due to LGBT characters because its not even worth getting into that. However, in terms of uncharacteristic acting and the betrayel of a main character, I can tell you right now that these people are feeling anger for two main reasons. 1. A character they have grown to love dies. This isn't a betrayal, this is great writing. If you get angry when someone is killed off in a game, then congrats to the developers. They managed to get you hooked enough to feel something. 2. Gamers these days are far too interested in being able to control decisions and make choices with consequences. But this isn't your character. These aren't your choices. You aren't part of the story, you're just witnessing it. And unfortunately that means you have to sit through the bad times and the good times.

    The gameplay is phenomenal and definitely one of the greatest games I've ever played. The beginning is slow burning and really gets you into the story. The loss of a main character early on really pushes the revenge aspect which last the whole game. Now, what Naughty Dog have done that similar games do not manage to achieve with revenge stories is give you the feeling of burden from both trying to get revenge and what you will lose by achieving it. Most games will try to make you see what the character is losing from themselves, or the people around them, or from the antagonists perspective. Naughty Dog achieves all three beautifully. And again, this is done with a slow burn to add to the story in a remarkable way. You start by experiencing a great loss which leads to anger and the need for revenge. Naughty Dog builds your attachment to new characters. They start by showing you how the amount of death and destruction is affecting Ellie mentally and breaking her, but her need for revenge is stronger, and this does not deter the player. You then see how Ellie's need for revenge becomes a burden and threatening to the new characters around her; Tommy, Dina and Jesse who are very quickly easily likable characters. This can deter the player and create a mixed feeling about wanting to continue and whether the revenge is worth it, you then see the damage done from the antagonist, Abby's perspective. How she has lost because of Ellie and Joel. This can almost make the player leave their revenge behind, but no Ellie. She has lost too much. The final nail in the coffin for the players guilt and empathy may be the fact the Abby allows Ellie to walk away, accept her losses and Abby will accept hers. But Ellie, even with a perfect life months later cannot accept this.

    Ellie drags the player along with her as the game goes on, and even with revenge weighing down on her and the player both, there is a distance created between them. And at the end of the game, Ellie makes a good decision, but for the player it comes too late, because she has lost everything and herself to achieve it. I think this is where a lot of players anger comes from. Ellie does what the player has wanted for almost the last half of the game, but due to her stubbornness she has lost everything because of it. Regardless, Ellie finished the game a good person, and is happy for that at least.

    The music and ambiance are incredible. The creepy and scary area have the perfect tone of music, and the way silence is used the in game is absolutely amazing. There's times when music is lowed and there's constant background noise to promote how fast paced and difficult things are. And silence is used so well to convey sadness, loss and a huge slowdown to the game allowing you to listen to dialogue and reflect on the heartbreak and sadness of what has just happened in the previous missions.

    This is not a full review, but just some things I feel needed to be outlined with the game. I genuinely feel the 0/10 reviews are totally unjustified and understand why some people may rate it as low as even 6/10. But for me this is a masterpiece. The sales figures speak for themselves and this is 100% one of the most emotionally effective and well written story driven games I have ever played. For me it is as good as the first, and I genuinely hope Ellies story is not yet over. 10/10. Perfect.    … Expand

    Well... Just finished... What's wrong with people?? Giving zero and this kinda stuff for the game because the story is not what they want... Is just sad!!! I DID NOT LIKE FIGHTING Against Ellie... She my girl!! I lost a few times there. I think the opposite side in that part would be much better

    Yo digo que deberíamos valorar el juego por qué está muy adelantado a su época debemos apreciar sus gráficos y sus paisajes y saber que Nauty Dog se esforzó mucho durante 7 años para traernos este juego además no le pondría un 10 por la falta del personaje principal que es Joel y que me gusta que no solo controlemos a Ellie.

    Normally, I'm a silent player that plays the game and don't talk that much about it only, BUT after seeing all the hate this game gets, I have to talk about games openly for once..

    Before I go into details let me give you my ratings:
    GRAPHICS: 10/10
    SOUND: 10/10
    STORY: 9/10
    GAMEPLAY: 9.5/10

    This game is quite near to being a masterpiece and I will tell you why:

    The prologue is simply one of the best I've seen in a very long while. It was a good decision to remind the player of what happened in the first game and to give the player some insight in the relationship of Ellie and Joel right after the end of the first game.

    The beginning relatively peaceful, which brings you into the game softly and not too harsh.

    Then stuff is about to go down (also, the point of the game, that pisses off the majority of people, not me though): Joel gets killed by Abby. The majority says that Joel wouldn't tell his name to strangers and would not even think about going into the room with Abby and their companions. But for me, Joel looks like he softened in Jackson in the past 4 years. He was about to bring new people into Jackson and didn't think about his past at the moment (also, they were in a really spicy situation, which made things hectic).

    So all in all Joel's dead was not only justified, but also good executed. Of course some people say, that Abby is a nobody to Joel, which is true, but only hating her for killing Joel and being an unknown character is quite simplistic. If you hate Abby for killing Joel, then you would also need to hate Joel for killing her father in the first game. Also you should hate Ellie for doing the same stuff Abby did then.

    The story gets told in a really, like seriously REALLY, unconventional way, which might have turned off the one or other.
    What I mean with this is that there is a bigger storyline and flows within the game (so shall I say?). And in this bigger storyline there are flashbacks, that underline the current situation in the game perfectly. And when you're on a specific spot in the game, the game "starts again" the same time, the revenge path of Ellie started. The twist: You play as Abby and life in her life for a third in the game. Personally, in the beginning I had real trouble to feel bad for Abby but while playing her part of the story, I realized that she's just as human as every other person in this game.

    This underlines one of the game's theme: "There are no heroes, only survivors.", which is perfectly executed.
    Another theme of the game is: "The cycle of hate and revenge.", which is also extremely well executed in the game, because as you can see, Joel did some gruesome things in the first game, that led Abby to seek revenge to his actions and then to his death, which sparks hate in Ellie towards Abby, so she starts a literal RAMPAGE to find Abby, resulting killing her friends, which then let Abby want to kill Ellie. And so on.

    Nearly in the end (which is really the best outcome they would get out of this situation) Ellie lives peacefully in a farm few miles from Jackson with Dina. Tommy shows up to tell Ellie, that they found Abby and he still wants to get revenge.

    Ellie wants that too, so she starts seeking her revenge again and is nearly there to kill Abby while drowning her. But then she realizes, that this cycle will never end if nobody lets go. So she let's her live. She learned to forgive, which is the last theme of the game: Learning to forgive.
    There is even a flashback scene, in that Ellie tells Joel that she tries to forgive him for taking away her meaning in her immunity.

    In the end you see Ellie walking home to her farm near Jackson and Dina is left. Everything is taken away from her. Only the guitar is still there, which she tries to play, but she can't, because Abby bit 2 of her fingers off in the last fight. So she lays the guitar down and walks away. Symbolizing her letting go of her past.

    Now to the gameplay.
    The gameplay improved in many ways:
    - more traversal
    - the dodge button feels nice (but I'll come to it in a minute)
    - stealth feels more realistic (you're never fully hidden)

    A BIG PLUS is the graphics. The game looks like straight out of a camera lens. It's disgustingly beautiful. There are insane details in every corner or brush, water looks fantastic an the characters are almost like real life.

    Also, Gustavo Santaolalla's music in the background immerses you into this brutal and raw world, but also calms you down in certain moments. Simply majestic.

    Just don't listen to the negative reviews (atleast don't trust the bad reviews with no real reason why they hate it).

    Sin la historia esta franquicia no es nada,... Tanto tiempo esperando y ahorrando para esta mierda, y a pesar de que tiene muy buena jugabilidad y los motores gráficos son increíbles, repito este juego no era nada sin la historia. Para mi esto nunca existió.

    The gameplay is a problem child. It has been a while since i played the original TLOU or even Uncharted, but this feels very very clunky to me. I found myself constantly ambushed, while sneaking, and even with extra weapons I could never swap weapons, aim and shoot before i had 8 runners wailing on me. this gets even worse later when enemies get more ferocious and harder to spot in tight quarters. towards the end of the game i was forced to go from Moderate difficulty to easy just to progress. Which ties into my next item.

    This game is exhausting. you will be going from one tense scenario to another nonstop for a good 15-20 hours. Ammo is scarce, weapons plenty, but there never seems to be enough to handle things easily. You can't Solid Snake this game, but neither can you Nathan Drake it. Go in guns blazing, you'll be overrun in seconds. Sneak around and take people out with silenced weapons and you'll run out of mats very fast. I found myself never sure how to actually play the game the most efficiently.
    The enemy variety doesn't make things any easier. very rarely will you find the easy route of slowly sneaking past a pack of clickers like in the first game. Human enemies are brutal, always managing to flank and allow their bigger tanks to engage while they snipe at you.
    The ally AI however, doesn't seem to be much use. Except for a few scripted events, they just got in the way mostly. They don't alert enemies, even if they run in front of a baddie while you're trying to hide, but they also don't seem to take down very many enemies in fights.

    The biggest thing. Story. I feel like a story was told. but im not sure what the moral was. was there a moral? I also feel like the pacing could have been a little better, maybe less jumping around. On the upside, there are some genuinely funny and heartwarming flashbacks here. I feel it could have used more of them as a whole.

    Other thoughts. This game is brutal. extremely so. I don't remember TLOU being this gory. By about 12 hours into the game I was ready to be done. I just wanted this whole **** up story to be over and done so i could move on. The game continued another 10ish hours and almost seemed to end another 2 times before i saw the credits. By the end i was mentally exhausted. I can honestly say i will never play this again, and i won't recommend it to anyone looking for a fun time. The amount of stress it puts on you is too high, and the amount of payoff is so very very low.

    I'm not going to bomb it. It is a genuinely good game despite my complaints. Just don't expect TLOU. this is another dog.    … Expand

    Just incredible. Stunning visuals, well paced gameplay, and makes you grapple with some truly difficult questions. How can you stop a cycle of revenge? Truly, humanity is its own worst enemy.

People who expected a happy ending obviously have not been paying attention. I like how the ending gives light to the games title. “The last of us”, it isn’t referring to a wide spread notion, like the infected and the non infected. It is referring to the “last of us” meaning what is left of these characters, emotionally and physically. She doesn’t kill Abby because she realizes she has nothing to gain, the pain will still be there and the memory of Joel will haunt her. Killing her would make her the same as Abby. Revenge is a fools game. And in this situation, Ellie lost. Ellie at the end is alone (which was here biggest fear according to the first game), she lost Dina, she lost her fingers, and the ability to play the guitar. What’s left of her is minimal. It is a sad ending but the ending we got. In the big picture, TLOU 1 and 2, the ending doesn’t seem so blasphemous.… Expand

The story is very good HOWEVER it will definitely not appeal to some people as it is very challenging and definitely not often "feel-good" even compared to the original. This is a character driven, brutal story with lots of deeply flawed people to pick apart and analyze.

    Gameplay is universally better than the original game, with absolutely incredible level design, a few new enemy types, and more items, crafting options, guns, some added platforming. Partner AI is better than in the original, though still not cutting edge or anything. Where gameplay is concerned I think this is my favorite title across the uncharted + TLOU era of ND games.

    The game has an INSANE amount of options. If you have vision or hearing disabilities: fear not, this game can be played by absolutely anyone.

    I gave it a 9/10, the point i'm taking back is because a couple of the new characters aren't fully realized and felt a bit lacking, and also because of a writing hiccup or two which, while minor, were a bit frustrating.    … Expand

    Great gameplay, good story, perfect storytelling. Its an absolute masterpiece. The only catch is that the story is so sad and unpredictable for fans (like me). I truly believe that there could be a better story, but they wanted to tell this story.

    El juego es muy bueno en varios aspectos, y es obvio que el personaje que muere es el único que podría hacer sentir al jugador y al personaje igual, la banda sonora es demasiado buena como la del primer juego y a mi parecer es una buena historia que supera a muchas películas.

    This game was almost perfect, certain story beats in the beginning had me a little divisive at first but after finishing the game it changed my mind for the better. You must complete the game fully to understand why certain choices were made. Gameplay is perfect. Story was good for the most part, but it isn’t clear how and what I was supposed to feel once the story concluded.
