    Joel dies to some retarded chick that we had seen for 4 minutes in the whole game.
    "Hole in one mother****ers" Said Naughty Dog.
    Tommy dies in a blink of an eye. Don't miss that. Even though the story did not require for that to happen.
    We don't get to choose to kill that stupid ****ing retarded hoe that killed our favourite characters, the incel ass game that forces us to play as WOMEN ONLY, AND WOMEN IN THE GAME, are IN ALL ASPECTS better than men. There will be a moment in the game where Mel and Abby, who are both women, have better shooting scores than Owen. Because women are surely better at that. And I am not trying to be sexist, the developers are being overly tolerant, ugly ass women all of them could have been 100x more appealing, but no. The sjw is so visible, not even hidden. The graphics and gameplay are a ****ing 9-10 but we expected an amazing story from naughty dog, we know they can do that, and it was at the very BEST lack-****ing-luster. I'm done here, trash me all the **** you want, I do not care, I came here to express my opinion, Also good **** critics, paid review bull****ters.     TLOU II is a great game if it comes to it's level of detail, yet it doesn't mean that it's perfect in every possible way. Sadly the game is a huge wasted potential if it comes to the story elements and the characters. We cant just bomb the game with negatives just because we read that one reddit comment.     Lets get to the point:

    - Graphics 10/10 very immersive. For 7 years of work, great job.

    - Gameplay - 4/10 : its more repetetive than the first game for sure

    - Scenography - 8/10 very good detail and in gentle symbolism.

    - Bugs and glitches 3/10: rare but they do appear

    - Story telling- 5/10: All the scenes and dialoges got me some mixed feelings at the first time of viewing. The way TLOU II makes us feel while playing and viewing experience, is just somewhat cruel, but natural, and that's what makes it good, however the entire plot of the game felt empty after completion of the game story. I honestly felt pointless doing all of "this" at the second half of the game. It just asks for another sequel. The entire plot and story is just a wasted potential in my opinion. I think that taking a different approach to the game would make it better.

    - Animations: 10/10: they did a great motion capture on this i must tell

    - Humans/ interactions /emotions: 8/10: natural,/very rarly un-natural (soft-core porn isn't good enough for game industry)

    - Soundtrack: 10/10 true masterpiece

    Haters gonna hate. I saw streamer playthrough of lou2 even on Facebook stream that game look good in graphic and gameplay. When I play it it's totally good game and it has decent story.You all talking about that story right? F it . But I feel in people who love Joel are hate ending that I can forgive.     Just finished my first play through, and all I can say is WOW, this game is massive. The scenery, movement, combat style,& the storyline are executed beautifully. This game had me feeling extremely conflicted, I was able to put myself in the characters shoes and wonder what I would do. Definitely worth playing with an open mind and definitely recommend taking your time to explore the wholeJust finished my first play through, and all I can say is WOW, this game is massive.     First of All i know i was no one, and My Opinion or in this case this Review gonna get lost anyway in the Ocean of Angry People so i want to make this **** Quick.

    Wtf Sony? Wtf ND? Do you honestly **** thing not just your Head from a **** Bussiness Perspective is Okay? to do this? alright for some kinda reason i got an early access to the Game in my PS4 (idk if this was a Some kinda Joke? I'm not a Reviewer, why the **** i got a Review Copy?) well because the Controversy behind it i just think, why the Hell i'm gonna Waste my Time with This SJW Bull****.

    So Joel's Dead, yeah he Dead, Dead dead, not i saying it was a good thing, it could be Foreseen, especially when you already leak yourself that Ellie gonna be the Character that you Control in this Game so i get it she need a Reason yeah.
    But why? not why he dead, but the Way he dead, so you telling, there's this Person who has been lived 25 Years in a Post-Apocalyptic Setting, died because some Angry Mob Beat Him, and he whose been on a Dangerous Situation in his Entire Journey that Clearly had some Trust Issues, give his **** name to a **** Stranger, i get it if it just "Oh my Name's Joel or Joe" No the Man literally gives his **** Name, Real Name, Bruh.

    And then the Game Start, you playing as Ellie, don't get me Wrong the Graphic sure looks Nice, the Sound Design well its not Bad, the Gameplay? I Mean it just Assassins Creed a **** Recycle what can i call bad from that? Well there's, why the **** you make it more Simpler? why? You know the Gameplay from the first Game is Enough, it's not Hard Enough for A Beginner but not Easy Enough for a Veteran if you get what i meant, it had some Puzzle there and there that could help spice up the Gameplay a Little bit, and now Knowing about that **** and getting the first impression that the Gameplay is the Same, obviously people will expected the Same atleast to a Degree Challenges, now Robbing the Challenges out from the Game doesn't sound good at all right? then why the **** you do it? Christ man.

    And now the Story..... you know what **** the Story, you gave us the Opportunity as the Bad Guys so in a way we Could Attached to them right? but making the Ending so the Bad Guy wasn't even get what the **** they deserved does that even Sounds Right? What? So you telling me You give us the Player as Ellie a Motivation to Avenge Joel, and yet You Discard it altogether in the End? then why the **** Joel's Dead then? Did you just oh **** man for ****sake **** the Story, it feels empty because it was, for **** sake this game was just an Excuse for a SJW'S Collection doesn't it huh ND?

    You know what i don't care if i get an Early Access somehow i never ever want to **** Play this Game.

    A beautifully tragic and heartbreaking story that is accompanied by gorgeous visuals and fantastic gameplay. A perfect sequel to close out Ellie's journey.

    There is no way any sane person can give this a bloody ten out of ten. This is literally the worst piece of writing I've ever came across. Normally I wouldn't waste my energy typing about something I truly came to HATE, but this game seriously needs to be discarded and forgotten FOREVER

    Amazing game as always from naughty dog. Story is brilliant and some real shock moments and yes I carried real tears at some of it. The attention to detail is amazing and graphics are out of this world and not to forget that it was done for 7 year old PS4. Game of the year for sure. Well done all at naughty dog for another masterpiece

    I'm not sure how many times I've played through The Last of Us (Part I). Too many times, probably. One of the key things that keeps making it worth revisiting is the characters and the way they interact with one another. One of the key things that keeps making it worth revisiting is the characters and the way they interact with one another. Joel and Ellie are written in a way that feels so true and natural, and that goes for the rest of the characters too.
    This quality carries over perfectly into Part II. This game presents a story that's much darker than what was served up in the first game. Even though Part I was certainly dark, the core theme of the game's story was that of finding hope in a world that feels lost. The themes of Part II are much heavier, dealing with the cyclical nature of violence, the futility of revenge, and losing yourself to hatred. But much like the first game, it's all carried by the excellent character work.
    As the game takes Ellie down an increasingly darker path, she's still given little personal moments with her loved ones that serve to flesh out the humanity in the characters. These interactions feel just as natural and charming they did in Part I. The story plays out in a pretty surprising way, which I won't spoil, where it forces you to consider the humanity of the people that you're killing. It's less so a revenge story as much as it is a story about turning into the very monster you've sought to destroy.
    There are two caveats to the story telling that stuck out to me though. One is that it gets a bit overindulgent with time jumps and flashbacks, which kind of trips up the pacing and the flow of continuity a little bit. The other is that it does drag a bit at times. There are a few parts where I was wondering how relevant what I was seeing is to the overall story. But even through those parts I wasn't too bothered, because the characters are still interesting to follow and I was busy enjoying the gameplay. Which brings me to...

    The gameplay is just as solid as it was in the previous game, with some extra polishes and tweaks added on top. Encounters with infected people remain nerve-racking, the scarcity of supplies keeps the tension high, fights against human enemies feel even more brutal than in the first game and most importantly, you get to play fetch with a dog.
    Exploring the remains of human civilization, catching glimpses of the lives of people who came before is still a great and, at times, harrowing experience.
    If you played Part I and enjoyed the gameplay, then Part II totally delivers.

    The graphics are top notch. Just stellar. I don't know what else to say on the subject. Try turning the camera around to Ellie's face from time to time just to see how much care was put into her contextual facial expressions. She'll smirk or frown or display whatever relevant emotion she may be feeling during incidental conversations during gameplay. You could play the whole game just staring at her back and never see this. There are so many little details like this in the animations, scenery and environmental storytelling that take this game to the next level. The devs didn't need to do any of that. But they did. Because they love you and this game is how they show it.

    The Last of Us Part II feels like a worthy, but challenging, successor to a classic. This could've been an easy retread that doesn't take any chances. It could've just put Ellie and Joel on another journey across the country, filled with hero moments and easy to process "kill the bad people" scenarios. But instead it goes for a more nuanced and difficult to digest story that makes you think about the characters and their morality.

    Oh, also the game has like gay people and women in it or something (wow, just like real life!) If you find that difficult to deal with then I guess you're not ready for this game yet. Give it time. We all grow up eventually.    … Expand

However I believe most of the bad is counter balanced by the good. In the sequel theyve fixed many grievances making the gameplay and combat feel smoother and less clunky in comparison to its predecessor with a new range of weapons and items to make combat scenarios feel fresh. The story doesnt live up to the expectations the original but i dont think its as bad as people are making it out to be. I believed the final boss and gameplay segment before it was drawn out and un necessary. However i believe that the epilogue was extremely powerful and was probably one of my favourite ending of all time. I believe this game was worth it in my opinion but its very divisive and i think youd have to judge it yourself… Expand

Wait for the new hardware to come out and possibly, most likely last of us part 3. This game shows the dynamic of the franchise and how it can immerse you in the world and relate. This is a world of dead. An apocalypse. The world has ended and there is people who survive and people who die simple. Not every death will be deserved or the best way to die it’s an apocalypse. That is the point of story telling. You have good and bad moments. Will it be sad at Times yes. When Joel dies yes it was sad and it hurts but not everything will be roses. Not everyone will just die on a death bed. The game is meant to be like that it’s called great story telling. Different story telling it’s not like your typical game that sticks with the same characters for 5 or so games. Then if that was case you same people would complain how it’s josh Joel and Ellie and not anyone new. They took the shocking approach. Ellie is still alive. Yes Joel dies but he had a great legacy and will forever be remembered. Abby is still alive which can spark up stuff for a third game. We have new characters that they can build off of and make you love them as well. I know people want more backstory playtime with Abby to get invested. Maybe that comes in another game. I’m fine with what I got because most people just wanna know why and they tell you why and yes if someone dad dies it’s enough to want to kill someone. Plain and simple. I think some people just saw cut scenes heard spoilers and said forget the game without playing through it and getting that experience as too why. It’s a great game with a great story again. Just have to learn how to get over stuff it’s a game. Also if you are leaving a bad review or rating because Ellie is lesbian then figure your life out. That is not a reason to hate a game get over yourself and be a adult. Otherwise the game is great I still think first one is better but this game is great. People need to stop whining it’s a game it’s meant to have heartbreak and sad stuff.     I just played through the game and was thrilled in every way until i saw the reviews of it here on Metacritic! I was shocked at how many people rated this game so badly, and this shortly after the release. It is simply impossible to play through the game at this time, which made me wonder what the basis of most reviews is.

    First we come to the gameplay and graphics:

    -The graphics are absolutely mindblowing, for a title that is still on the
    old generation consoles, it looks really beautiful.

    -the gameplay is not as many say monotonous and boring. Because in my opinion it's one of the best there is. It may be sluggish, but whether or not someone likes it depends on their opinion of such realistic gameplay. I myself find the realism and the feeling of always being vulnerable sensational!

    Now to the most criticized part: THE STORY

    The story may not be everybody's cup of tea but it's not bad in any way. Because Naughty Dog does something no one has ever done before, it questions your own decisions and makes you look at Ellie and Joel's story from a different angle. It shows the consequences based on our decisions in the first part, which when you think about it were devastating. Keyword: the last mission in the hospital! I couldn't put the controller away while I was playing through. The game simply tied me away.

    ATTENTION SPOILER:

    Many criticize the decision of joel's death, which I believe was well founded at the end of the game and not too bad. Just because the main character of the old game dies doesn't mean that the new main protagonist is worse. Ellie plays herself great and is still one of the most interesting characters there is.

    Now for the conclusion:
    The game has captivated me like no other game! It made me think and made me fear it. This is the first game in which I question my own actions, and I am shown that there are always two sides of a story and not everything you do can be justified. And before you say something negative about a game, you should first play through it!    … Expand

And the difference between what someone's willing to do till they are satisfied. They way the story is set, I do disagree. I believe if they split up abby's moments before we saw her as Joel's murder, it would have been much better. But that's not the case. But it doesn't change the fact it was a good game from gameplay and effort. And maybe they left the end open for a 3ed. So we'll see what happens, but honestly I'm not disappointed but not impressed… Expand

Some points regarding some sensitive matter could have been addressed with more concern and should have a little bit extra development to not fit on the cliche plot, but this doesn't reduce the overall psychologic concept that the game is bringing that you must look in a whole and not analyze in pieces.… Expand

    Man... this game brought me unlock my deep emotions. Definitely play the first one before Part 2. Trust me when I say this, the only reason why this score is so low is because the game got spoiled but it didnt turn out to be entirely true. Just, play the game. Form your own conclusions.

I think, this shows how it's not just about surviving in this new harsh world, but that the people get to live in it and they have feelings, do moral and unmoral choices on their way through life and you get all the backstory, how Ellie grows up from teenager to adult, that the lies will surface, that some decision cost you more than you bargained for. I think it's wonderful, that we get to discover worlds of WLF and Scars, but also simple things like feelings for other and how complicated they are.… Expand

    I love this game. It is a beautiful game graphically and it excels in atmosphere and excitement. The game is making you feel raw emotions and you feel as a hardened and tough as nails warrior throughout the game, while also feeling (relatively) vulnerable. Music and sound design are top notch! Character design is outstanding and facial animation and movement is better than I have ever seen before. Also the acting and dialog are best I have ever seen in a video game.

    The gameplay loop also feels great to me. It feels much the same as part 1, which I also loved to play.
    It is a bit more streamlined and varied. It is also one of the very few games in which I found that the story fragments and collectibles were actually worth searching for. If you didn't like the first game though, you probably won't like this one either.

    The story is like the first game very powerful and emotional and all about love, hate, despair, revenge and enjoying the small things in live. People are not nice in this hard world, and no-one is really good. You mostly see the ugly parts of people that want to survive and want revenge when they are wronged. The story of the first game is better, as this one is missing the driving force of the first game about 'saving humanity'. It is more about (pointless) revenge, and human fallibility. Even so, I felt very invested in the story.

    I have a few small annoyances. I didn't like the shamblers and stalker infected enemy's. They were annoying and hard to kill, even though they are still defeatable.     The game does such a good job, such a GOOD JOB of Ellie's story. Yes, Joel's death is nasty and brutal, and that puts a lot of people off. But it gets to such a high point of tension...

    And then you're playing the other side. And in moments, you find out why they did what they did. But it doesn't end. Nope, you have to play forwards to where you left off with Ellie. And you think "hey, what a way to end it".

    But that's not the end, not even close.

    A lovely epilogue follows, and you think "cool, nice of it to let me enjoy this moment of peace and calm after all that horror".

    And then it makes THAT horror. And the game continues. You're back to Abby, desperately searching for remnants of a happier past. And that sinking feeling you have by this point - that every character that gets introduced gets theirs, horribly and brutally - gets realised, again. And then you're Ellie, in the same place, and it feels... off. Like, "huh? But why?" off. And then BAM, that feeling is back and realised. Again.

    And THAT'S not the ending either.

    Nope, somehow and beyond reason at this point, you slog on. And you watch as the story just... falls apart. "But if that's how that story ends, why did they do that just moments before?" you'll think, and then it gives you a cutscene to remind you:

    There is no happiness in this world. Not for the characters. Not for you.

    It's just, well, frustrating that a game goes to such great lengths to make you care, actually care, about a selection of characters. And then it kills that care off, at length, by doing the same thing again and again - hurting them to try make you care more. To the point where, any character it shows you caring for, you think "I wonder what kills them brutally in front of my character?" It just ends so sour, and more to the point it just makes zero sense for what has happened up until then. Just... why? It was all over. Why do that? After doing what you did?    … Expand

    As a movie or a TV show, this wouldn't have a chance.
    The first half lacks the push the first game had, plot armor saves a character multiple times with the sole purpose of pushing forward a stupid plan, and the second forces you into 2 long side quests while relegating the main theme of the game to the side, all to justify the existence of these new characters. I get it, different sides have different goals, but I don't care about these people. I can't. And these quests drag on for so long.

    If you're a die hard The Last Of Us fan for the story, this game MIGHT be rude awakening. I say might because there's a chance you will appreciate the symbolism behind this narrative. I didn't.

    Yes Joel dies in the first few hours and yes you play as Abbey, the girl that killed him but there is a VERY good reason for that. By the end and the big Ellie/Abbey confrontation you seriously don’t know who you want to win. I grew to like Abbey and was really hoping that Ellie didn’t kill her, she was only seeking revenge for her dads murder and left Ellie alive, but Ellie carved her way through half of Seattle looking for her revenge.

    The story is exceptional, the acting incredible and the game beautiful.

It's not surprising the game is so polarising, because it's not supposed to be an easy thing to stomach. Brutal and compelling story aside, it's the best looking and sounding game this generation. I hate that what Characters have to suffer, and i reminds me of my friend who committed suicide... Still, it is a strong game to bring me such a strong feeling.     A masterpiece from start to finish, never before has a game made me invest so much reflection on the choices and cycles of violence my character perpetrates. I feel emotionally drained after playing it but I'm weirdly keen to do it all over again, such is the draw of the world and the frantic stealth action.

    Which is absolutely stunning achievement in bad story writing discipline is that they made Joel look way less as anti hero in sequel. Despite all efforts to bring the completely opposite effect.

    Maybe it's because every single character in this game is a lesser character than in previous game. Scenes presented in Part II have an emotional impact at first glance but it is all ripped apart when you start to understand how poor the writing is.

    The devs and artists did a great job with world, animations, models or graphics. Actors gave a truly amazing performance. And it is so sad that the plot ruined it all.

    Game that were supposed to bring diversity and characters from minority represents them as madmen and cold blood killers. It so awful and sad at the same time.

    I've got plenty of more problems with it, ex. false advertisement or repetitive game play but it all could have been overlooked if the story would be at least average.

    God this is first time that I would really love to see at the end that it all was just a bad dream. I would truly appreciate that plot twist.    … Expand

    Where you would hope that gameplay would cover the monotony of a revenge story that has no breaks. You only get a a very dated feeling game that is very linear after the first hour. The narrative is not set up to make a meaningful story, but instead to make you mad. There is clear disrespect for original characters to bring in the days of political games.     J'ai adoré jouer à cette partie 2 de The last of us !
    Le jeu était très prenant, les graphismes étaient juste sublimes, et le scénario à mon sens cohérent. Le gameplay se trouve être fluide et agréable
    J'étais en totale immersion sur les différents événements se déroulant dans le jeu ! J'aime beaucoup le fait que le personnage principal fasse partie de la communauté LGBT+ ainsi que    J'ai adoré jouer à cette partie 2 de The last of us !

    I loved playing this part 2 of The last of us! the game was very engaging, the graphics were sublime, and the scenario in my opinion consistent.

    The gameplay happens to be fluid and pleasant, I was totally immersed in the different events taking place in the game ! I really like the fact that the main character is part of the LGBT+ community as well as the little reference located in the games ~

    The Naughty dog studio did a monster job for the realization of this part II and I thank them greatly for it’s two opus just great!    … Expand

    This game is being review bombed. If you enjoyed this first, this is just as good. I guess the problem people have is either they read the leaks and got angry before playing it, or they're homophobic, or maybe xbox/pc people who are sick to death of hearing how good Last of Us is. This game is incredible, I cried, laughed, got scared **** can't stop thinking about the characters

    I loved the game! Do not understand why there is so much hate. Everyone has there own opinion. I’m no SJW, nor a right minded person. I don’t care about al that when I play a game. This game moved me and it was beautiful. No others game besides of TLOU 1 moved me and that’s why for me it is once again a masterpiece.

    Finished yesterday. Brilliant game. Easily one of the best I've ever played. Environmental design is easily best in class (phenomenal achievement) and the gameplay is fantastic. Part 1 is one of my favorite games ever, and was unsure of what I would make of this story as was quite nervous going into it what paths they might take. What a ride! I love the themes explored in this game, whichFinished yesterday. Brilliant game. Easily one of the best I've ever played.     Amazing game once again, with brilliant graphics that I have never seen in a game. It is literally like watching a movie. Improved gameplay, amazing and gut wrenching story. This and the first one are still my favorite games of all time.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
