    This was just simply awful from start to end. I couldn't stand the terrible writing and the betrayal of the characters' story arch through the writer's heavy-handed agenda-driven ideology behind every line being shoved down my throat as a player.

    I preordered the game, I wanted to give it a chance because I love Naugthy Dog, and they were one of the few game-developers left that I still believed in and trusted. But after seeing even more leaks before it's official release, and seeing the huge amount of negative ratings, I wanted to look more into it and    This game is a "Metacritic must-play"? - You gotta be freaking kidding me!

    I preordered the game, I wanted to give it a chance because I love Naugthy Dog, and they were one of the few game-developers left that I still believed in and trusted. But after seeing even more leaks before it's official release, and seeing the huge amount of negative ratings, I wanted to look more into it and eventually spoiled the game for myself and holy s*** am I glad that I did!
    I'm indeed gonna return the game, get my money back and buy some games that are worth my time!
    This game is so disrespectful towards it's original characters, the characters that people got to absolutely love in the first game! Naugthy Dog literally took a huge dump on them and pissed on them afterwards in order to place a **** awful new character in the spotlight instead!    … Expand

    A story game with a terrible story..the writing here is just..it's like the PC babies from South Park wrote it. I'm all for a little social justice in the game, like mass effect..but when you build a post apocalyptic game around social justice..it just comes out silly/petty and ruins immersion..

Shallow stealth mechanics you've seen a thousand times before. Shallow shooting mechanics you've seen a thousand times before. It's the epitome of modern blockbuster movie shallow and forgettable.

    First then kill the main character after 2 hours then they take you the revenge at the end. The devs are making all wrong you can make wrong in a second part of a great predecessor. So a bull* of storytelling.

    I loved Joel and Ellie and their bond... which is quickly killed one in this one just so we can switch to horrible characters that we are forced to play with and “love”. Or understand at least. The problem is, I don’t. I don’t understand nor love them. Imagine Nadine killing Nathan and they you play half the game as her and the game telling you it was as it should be.     The first part impressed me visually considering the hardware ps3 has and game had such amazing story that I wished I had a daughter. Meanwhile part 2 still has impressive visuals but story is so bad that it made me wish I had a cancer.

    I have not finished it yet but I am not really enjoying the story anymore as it is simply too far away from my personal reality which means: I simply can't relate and don't even want to. Providing a basis for a very questionable woke ideology seems more important than good story-telling. So: Was it really necessary? Holy **** . Thank you Naughtydog for this piece of garbage.

    I initially gave this game 7/10 but after completing it a 3/10 is all I'm giving. This will be the last Naughty Dog game I'm buying, extremely disappointed in the story and ending. It's hard to play and the whole LGBT vibe kills it for me. Very, very disappointed :(

Naughty Dog has written a Last Jedi and managed to kill a beloved franchise forever.

    Even worse, the technical merits of the game are arguably not as good as the prequel. The pretty environments feel now like soulless Quixel asset flips, and the game animations are thousands upon thousands of motion capture segments weirdly blended together by something which feels more like an AI than any kind of human-made plan. The end result is something which looks amazing in a static frame or a small motion segment, but doesn't feel right or cohesive once you are playing.

    The gameplay has been simplified and dumbed down considerably compared to the predecessor, where it was already thin. Even worse, the changes made are never there to make the game better, but to make the developer's job easier. An example is the addition of tall grass as a stealth mechanic, an unwelcome gaming trope which allows them to get away with much worse level design. Multiple issues which were present previously but were unimportant due to the nature of the prequel (inconsistent control response, shooting issues, out-of-control secondary animations getting in the way of your stealth, poor enemy AI, and more), now return but are way more prevalent since the game is way longer, has worse pacing, and the writing is no longer able to carry the weight of the game. It's just a lazy job after lazy job. At the end of the day, this game was not made as something intended to be played, but to be watched. And, since you have zero agency and zero choices during the game, I'd say the optimal platform to play the game is YouTube and not PlayStation.

    The entire game feels like it was made by factory robots, except for the story bits, which seems to be written by an Internet troll instead. It deserves a 0 not only because that's how it will make you feel after trying it for a while, but because this is an extremely dangerous trend which can end up destroying the entire AAA gamespace. Do not listen to the dozens upon dozens of 10/10 'professional' reviews which talk nothing about the game's blatant faults and are nothing more than glorified press releases.

This is probably the final straw, or better said, a deadly violent blow to the true fans of the medium of entertainment.     The story, main pillar of the tlou 1 and the reason why you are playing these types of games is: GARBAGE, TERRIBLE BAD GARBAGE. Yeah sorry for caps but its really that bad. Its not a story witten by pros its a twitter fanfiction, someones nasty fantasy, its political statement and its terrible cliché.
    So the plot is: revenge is bad, klling is bad (but it only does metter in cutscenes not in gameplay). Thats it. Characters are shallow and ridiculous and ending is so bad you will cringe for the next ten days. Game tries so hard to be grimdark and edgy but it all comes down as a joke. This is how soy drinking woke devs imagine post apo world. And its one big LoL.
    Characters satisfied needed quotas of political correctness hence the 95/100 from so called pros. Sony created needed atmosphere in which you cant criticize the game, without being labeled as troll, bigot, hater etc by far left ideologists. And obviously journos only cares about keeping it good with sony to get another game in advance.
    This could keep going and going. NDs zero respect for the fan fav characters and cheap "shocking" moments that are only sign of bad writting. Zero respect for the players and tlou 1, etc etc.
    Do not buy this game and if you have to buy it second hand.
    Word of advice? Wait for ghost of tsushima, or if you need zombie game play days gone or wait for dying light. If you want good story about killing is bad play death stranding. The story is completely bland and could've literally taken place with any characters (unlike the first game's story). Oh, graphics are great and gameplay isn't bad either, but it does not matter in a story game with an awful story.

    The best game of this generation, I especially loved the sound design during Abby's sex scene : the subtle sounds of Owen balls slamming against the muscular ass of Abby were recreated masterfully.

    Let's not forget the animation department for their beautiful depiction of her women **** truly a breathtaking scene that I'll never forget !

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game has several narrative problems! The event surrounding Joel's death created a bizarre and very poorly crafted storyline. Firstly, because Joel is slaughtered by Abby and her group doesn't kill Tommy and Ellie, knowing that there was a clear possibility that they would want revenge? Since when are they good enough to keep someone out of their group alive? Look at the colossal size of this Deux ex machina in a post-apocalyptic world and CRUEL to CREATE a plot in a forced and stupid way, only blind does not see, I'm sorry, a game focused on history with a hole the size of a crater in the same script this is a shame. Everything that happens after this event is a mountain down, although the game remains in the name of the character that we all like, Ellie, the story creeps into an immense void during her gameplay, with silly confrontations, collection of supplies, infected here and there, blablabla, for later on the part of $ @ # $ # abby you have the best moments of escape, combat and gameplay, and I DEFINITELY did not want to play with this character. The charisma or understanding of this character's "side" was a FAIL in its entirety. Abby has no charisma and had no chance of being able to, she killed the favorite character of many and this is unforgivable, I have no remorse for a mastodon who was the daughter of a doctor who wanted to kill Ellie in the name of a cure that nobody knows if there was going to be.
    The last point is the end of the story, the part with Ellie is excellent and the exploration of that new coastal area is very cool, a different and new air, but damn, when the story ends I think "you went so far, you killed people I **** **** a lot of people to punch and let that slut get away? ", then I say, there is no way a tlou 1 fan can accept this story, even though people like you liked it, but I'm sorry, no give, it's a feeling of hatred for the plot and whoever planned it, because revenge should be completed, this world does not forgive FOR FOOD and silly reasons, will you forgive for killing someone so important? It's like Chris arriving at the end of Resident evil 5 and saying to the wesker "pow, I'm not going to kill you, you are cool"!

But last 4 hours when they Abby fights with Ellie and we play as Ellie. I literalty say outloud WTF! Why? Why? Why devs want me to play as Abby against Ellie? And after the boss fights end she let us go? Why she did that? We killed her boyfriend. Joel killed her father. She has all the motives that she could kill Ellie as she did Joel. But anyway she let us go. it is a huge gap. Then Ellie all of a sudden times jump after 1.5 year. She settled down with Dina and baby. But why??? She killed your father figure in front of you. No human being is not react or passed it away. They will hold a grunge until the rest of their lives. I honestly get excited after Tommy showed up and ignite the fire inside of her. But that ending boss fight and we let her live. WHY! I hate the last 4 hours. Huge gaps. Why she travel about 4-5 months to get Abby then she let her go. Before the last battle starts. she see joel's death face as memory. then she start fight after 2 minutes. JUST 2 minutes... She was about the drowned her but She remember the Joel playing as guitar. Then she let her go! Why she has done that. Where is the motive in that. I asked why. Neil and Halley (West World Writer) are okey with that part. The last 4 hour why did you messed up your charcters build up. There are huge huge gaps. I will never ever play this game again. Because even though you think that you did a very good job in the game. You just messed up it totaly. You promised us a ''Revenge'' story She didnt get her revenge from Abby!! And last fight Abby was her weak state and we attacked her with knife. And you devs are want to feel sorry for Abby! NO WAY! You sir and madam!     I have the platinum trophy for The Last of Us. Instead of taking the easy win with this game, they decided to go their own route with the story and it is bad. Im only giving 2 points for the visuals.

    I'm been a Playstation fan for a long time and i can't remember the last time I played a Playstation game and felt the anger that I do today. I'm not sure why the story choices were made and not sure why the multiplayer was removed from this game. Gameplay is better but still is lackluster. AVOID!

    I think biggest problem with this game is that this is Last of Us 3, not last of us 2. It felt like there was a huge part missing after 1 hour into the game. So much of the story is rushed in the end, to make it "all come together" in a satisfying way, which is does not. Ending is not satisfying, it is    I really like Last of us 1 story, and I really hate this one. Lets be honest.

    Проблема в игре, которая паразитирует на славе первой части.
    Разберем по пункатам:
    1. Внимание к деталям
    В поселение нпс даже не разговаривают друг с другом, разработчики не додумались прописать статистам диалоги. В первой части такого не было. Да даже в Халве второй неписи были живее. Таких примеров могу привезти уйму.
    2. Геймплей
    Добавилась одна кор-фича, Элли теперь умеет ползать, в остальном копирует прорывной геймплей первой части. Инновации нет, ладно хотя бы не хуже.
    3. Графика
    Пейзажи выглядят хуже чем в RDR 2 прошлого года, только по этому её нельзя назвать прорывной. Она по крайней мере хуже одной игры (а то и более, ведь есть ещё God of War 4). Мимика лиц не лучше чем в первой части или Uncharted 4. Прорыва за 7 лет не произошло.
    4. Персонажи
    Ни один персонаж не вызывает симпатии, даже повзрослевшая Элли. У Дракмана сценарная импотенция. Радует только Джоэл, но его экранное время очень мало, и персонаж привлекает только благодаря раскрытию его в первой части.
    5. Сюжет
    Банальщина, с очень тухлыми сценарными твистами, одна сцена с жирафами в первой части, ставит всю эту игру на колени. А ведь в первой части была травма Джоэла, становления взаимоотношений между 2 главными героями, встреча с людоедами, встреча с чернокожими братьями и т.д. и т.п. А какая там концовка, просто взрыв мозга, здесь же она вызывает только недоумение.

    1. Attention to detail

    2. Gameplay

    4. Characters
    Not a single character evokes sympathy, not even the matured Ellie. Drackman has scenario impotence. Only Joel pleases, but his screen time is very short, and the character is attractive only thanks to the disclosure in the first part.
    5. The plot
    Banalism, with very rotten scenario twists, one scene with giraffes in the first part, puts this whole game on its knees.     If one category is so bad that the others suffer from it (like it runs only @ 1fps) it can destroy ever other aspects of it. With this Game this sadly is the Case. I would rate it 9/10 for the sound, 9/10 for the graphics, 9/10 for the performance and 7/10 for the gameplay...     The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
