    The world is one of the most beautiful that I have ever seen in a videogame, every location just awe inspiring, and everything about this game just works so well.

    The guns feel truly amazing to wield, and it’s nice to receive different variations throughout the story.

    I cannot stress enough, don’t read a review and have that dictate how good the game is, you have to try it for yourself. It’s such a good game, and I’d definitely recommend it :)    … Expand

    Eu simplesmente amei tudo do jogo mas destacando as vantagens em relação aos jogos da atual geração são os gráficos lindíssimos, as expressões faciais dos personagens q realmente expressão com excelência suas emoções e a imersiva jogabilidade do game, o cuidado q a Naught dog teve com este game é incrível!

    Filled with Agenda politics, Gameplay hasn’t evolved or changed at all, completey boring story with flashbacks that make you wish you were playing the first game. The only reason I give it a two is for the visuals and art design which is stellar, the exception to that being the character models who all look awful with meme worthy facial expressions.

La verdad es que me aburrí un poco en la parte de Abby pero comprendí porque hizo lo que hizo, ella perdió a su padre y luego a sus amigos más cercanos dándole una motivación. Para mi el final cerró el juego de una forma única, porque al Ellie dejar la guitarra en la ventana simbolizo que perdonaba a Joel por lo que hizo y por ir en su venganza ella perdió lo más bonito que le dejó Joel, la habilidad de tocar la guitarra, la parte de los créditos donde Ellie y Joel cantan la verdad es que si le saco una lagrima, un juego increíble en toda palabra.… Expand

    Story-wise, I've heard a lot of criticism, but I have to be honest: this is a game that stands for realism. It is not a fairytale, this is a gruesome post apocalyptical world. People die, at random moments, all the time. I've often hated how you already know from the beginning which character is going to die because of the way he's profiled and positioned when introduced. This is a game that surprises you, it's pessimistic, it's sad, it's real: I love it. Haters will hate because they hate change, because they're conservative, because they want to feel good. But go play a Nintendo game then. In every sense of the word, this is a masterpiece.

    Can't see much progress in game system since LOU1. Most of all, horrible story. Even though Naughty Dog sacrificed main characters of LOU1 for their storyline, I never couldn't understand Abby and even Ellie. This game is just a waste of money. I would rather play Warcraft Reforged instead of this crap.

The only reason I'm giving this game a 3 is because it is a technical marvel from both a visual and audio perspective. The controls are tighter and more refined than the first game visually, you could argue this game is superior to God of War as the best looking game this console generation. But from a story perspective, this game gets a 1 out of 10. After playing the game for 2 hours, they kill Joel in the worst possible way, portraying Joel as being out of character and disrespecting his character to the highest degree. Afterwards, they force you to play the majority of the game as the character that killed Joel. What in the actual eff. I couldn't continue the game after just 3 hours of playing and I did something I've never done before: stop playing a game because the story upset me too much. I've stopped playing games before because the gameplay was terrible or not fun, but in this case, the story absolutely infuriated me to no end. Naughty Dog has really screwed this one up, and from here on out I have to think really hard about buying any game this company creates. For shame, Naughty Dog, for shame.....… Expand

    Un excelente gameplay brutal y crudo, que nos hace sentir cada golpe, cada apuñalada y cada disparo. La historia tiene unos giros muy inesperados y una vez mas naughty dog nos deja en claro que en el mundo de the last of us no hay heroes ni villanos, solo personas tratando de buscar algo por qué luchar, algo para seguir sobreviviendo. Sin duda uno de los mejores juegos de la generacion.

    For all those who are rating the game low, without experiencing the full story, are just missing out. It seems they designed this game to be a mindf***. Throwing up ideas of who was wrong who was right, and serious implications of the repercussions of your actions. Brilliant game. Graphics, sound (!), great story and characters. 10/10

I have never written a review on metacritic before, but due to this game's controversy, and it being review bombed, I feel like I should write one now that I finished it. I'm no writer, so I'm sorry if my review isn't particularly well written.
    It took me around 25 hours to finish it, spending a lot of time exploring as much as I could.

    The short, spoiler free review is:

    The game is amazing! It's hard to play like some movies are hard to watch. It's uncomfortable, it kept me on the edge of my seat for most of it and I really love it.
    Play if for yourself, borrow a copy if you are afraid you might not like it, but I can't imagine someone not liking it. Yes, things happened in the story that made me angry and sad, but a good story doesn't only have things the audience wants.
    I truly believe this game deserves a 10, but I understand not everyone will agree with me. That being said, I can't imagine anyone giving this game less than a 6. A 6 would be the score if the person absolutely hates cinematic and/or survival games, but if you hate this kind of games then you shouldn't be playing it.

    The longer, with some spoilers review follows (SPOILERS!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED)

    I avoided any spoilers before playing the game. Even trying to avoid them I knew people were pissed because the antagonist is trans (although I can't understand why that's a reason for someone to be pissed) but I didn't know any details. Well, the game really does have a trans character, but it is not the antagonist like people assumed. People though Abby was trans, but she is just really buffed. There is another character that is trans, I really enjoyed his journey, but now I wonder if there were two separate leaks, one saying there is a trans character and another showing Abby with the gold club and people just made a wrong assumption.

    Anyway, I really enjoyed the way the story is structured. It uses it's two protagonists to show the player the same events through different lenses. I hated a character in the beginning, then later loved them because I got to see things in a different way. I got really pissed at characters I've always loved, but I "forgave" then once they found redemption. Everyone is the hero on their own story.

    The first game had some "nice" and "light" moments (like the giraffes), and this one does too, but on this game those moments are mostly flashbacks and memories. The present of the protagonists sucks most of the time, they are always under pressure, fighting for their and for their loved ones lives.

    The game is good I get why some people are angry even after playing it, hell I'm angry at the game, but It's still really good, it's supposed to make you angry, it reminds us that everyone has their own story.    … Expand

    Absolutely mind bending the way things die in this game. Whether it be blowing someone in half with an explosive arrow or taking their bottom jaw off with a baseball bat. The combat is so satisfying. Everything has a weight to it. Story is a mind bender and if you didn’t read spoilers, you’ll be in for a very good story.

    An absolute 10 GAME!!! Just 3 hours in, but the feeling of playing Ellie again is fantastic. 100% best graphics of this generation on PS4. Gameplay is familiar picks right up were TLOU 1 left it, but with some new additons that make it more fun. Like I said jusf a few hours in but the story already got me hooked.

    -Avengers: At the end of Avengers Infinity war, Thanos decides not to snap because the journey made him a better person.
    - Harry Potter: Voldemort confesses he just wanted to have friends. He and harry become best friends, the end.
    - The Matrix: Neo Wakes up and realizes the whole thing was a dream.
    - Inglorious bastards: What Hitler did was just a mistake, he won't do it again. They all become friends.

    Некоторые недовольны тем, что ГРАФИКА плохая, но скажу я вам, что она просто прекрасна и мои глаза довольны тем, что смотрели на неё, а те кто недоволен идите играйте в свои стратегии по типу цивилизации и европку там ведь ГРАФИКА гораздо "лутше" и сюжет не такой "ужасный" как в TLOU2))))))
    Я действительно не вижу ничего плохого в этой игре, ведь она по-своему интересная и особенная.
    И ведь те кто недоволен все равно покупают игру и играют, но при этом пищат об недостатках, а на таких "лохах" и делают деньги.
    Когда я проходил игру у меня много было эмоции и мне приятно, что они сделали концовку на такой ноте и это очень похоже на то, что будет еще часть и скорее всего завершающая такую отличную и трагичную историю.

    The storyline is utter trash. Being dark and violent doesn't make it a master piece IGN. I get that this could be somewhat subjective but something that isn't is the plot holes, characters act in stupid inconsistent ways or nothing like they did in the first game. Joel is now a complete moron.

    And yes if you have had enough of identity politics in your escapism then stay away from this.

    The gameplay is competent but hasn't moved on at all really from it's 7 year old predecessor. There are much fewer puzzles and they are even worse than the ones in the first.

    The graphics are amazing, though and i liked the environments. Some of the new enemies are cool to fight as well. Overall i wish i didn't avoid the spoilers and saved the money for cyberpunk or ghost of tsushima. My local games store ain't taking any more back now either cos they've had so many exchanged :(    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The last of us 2014 made a good impression on many players around the world, good graphics, technical part, history in the end. And one of the most beloved characters in the entire gaming industry, Joel, a character that I wanted to worry about, for which players were afraid that he would not get a decent sequel. It was this character who made the last of us what it is. A man who lost his daughter, becoming insensitive and cold-blooded, such as you should be in a world populated by zombies, in a world where people literally fight for food and weapons. The loss of someone close to him caused many players to shed tears, so well was this moment in the game worked out. There was no love line in the game that would distract the player from passing the first part. Only survival and only a world populated with dangers, one task is to save the world with the help of Ellie, but throughout the game we see how Joel's attitude to Ellie changes, how he begins to take care of her and finally understands that she has become a native person for him and does not allow her to kill. And now for the last of us 2, hopefully the first trailer, the voice of the beloved Joel, Ellie angry at all, here it is a dream come true, it was supposed to be a sequel to dreams, BUT the release of the second trailer, lesbians in the eyes, inflated woman, suddenly out of nowhere increased the number of races in the world where WALKS a DEADLY VIRUS, LOOTERS, HUNGER, DISEASE MORTAL DANGER TO ANYONE, but not for a group of lesbians and Teens, which is the story of the game, honestly the first ten minutes of the game were great this is when you play as Joel. Further and further the game becomes uninteresting. And I had a question AND for what 10/10, FOR WHAT??? thanks for the graphics, but we've seen better ( red dead redemption 2, God of war, the order 1886 2015 release!!) so just look at what the graphics are, it will not work, hmm... maybe the gameplay, maybe there is something new, that's a surprise, NO there is the same thing that was, I repeat for what 10/10???? Yes, you shoved us lesbians, open, I beg your pardon, pornography, and of course, inflated women and men. So I still do not understand this world in the post-APOCALYPSE, where there IS NOT enough FOOD WATER and MEDICINE, do you call this realistic??? do they have gyms open and everyone drinks protein? Lord here is an example of post-Apocalypse (mad max, where to get diesel and water, where the people look like crazed savages where no one wants anyone to have sex) there are also examples in movies, and it dies the whole planet, the land of the dead, dawn of the dead, but in the second zombie movie there's sex but its not shoved in trailers, and did not put on a show, look we have sex.     You see, there ways to tell a good story and make the players fell in love for the chracters, and sadly for ND they did that in the first one. So doing what they did it was obvious that a LOT of REAL FANS would get mad. In fact, it´s like they publish another franchise game, I would call, Adventures of Ellie and Joel in Walkin Dead dimension, because that´s the role problem here!
    They did not use the Last of Us world and rules, they used the Walking Dead world and rules, why? Why ND choose to do that...?
    Let´s compare:

    First game: character deads? Check, but in light ways, we know they died and the way showed was to absorve more in the sad and lonely world.
    Second game: character deads? Check, in grusome way that not even makes sense compare to the previous mind concept he had once.

    First game: Gay couple in one of the best chapters (Bill city), show in a delicated way, that makes no fan complain about it.
    Second game: Sex scenes just to shock the viewers and players...

    I think I made my point here. Doens´t feel the same franchise, not even the direction (maybe because is not?).
    If I like to play something like Last of Us 2 I would look for some Walkin Dead stuff and not this franchise that make a lot of fans in a time we´re with numerous zombies games existed. And gain fans because of the style, the compeling story...

    Graphics? Sure, is great, music too, gameplay, well didn´t change much, but I don´t mind that.

    My bet´s still are that this game was called New Walking Dead game the critic´s from the players and fans where all high up´s, but this is Last of Us Naughty Dog, please understand your own creations before try to show some moral story.    … Expand

    Storytelling is next level.
    Graphics: top - especially for this (7 years) old console
    Performance: very smooth and fluid gameplay
    Gameplay: one of the best - the AI has improved a lot and I have not seen this mechanics in any other game

    10/10 without any doubt! ND delivered a masterpiece.

On the other hand the game is gorgeous, it really looks like nature has reclaimed the land and there was obviously a lot of effort put into the graphics. On top of this Gustav Sandola’s guitar really adds to the dark atmosphere and complements the cutscenes. Though, overall the game is extremely underwhelming,Weak story and uninteresting gameplay left me with a bizarre taste in my mouth.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The current overwhelming hate towards this game is very ironic as it demonstrates how desperate we need the message of TLOU2 - Don't let your love become a weapon that hurts others and eventually yourself.

    I realized the theme of the game very early on, and can almost predict how the main plot would approach the story. Usually, that means the story is way too predictable and boring. However, TLOU2 managed to keep me invested through its stunning and revolutionary storytelling - to become one of 'Them,' the enemies we swore to destroy. Every soul lost in fights is the protagonist in their own story.

    True peace can not be reached by just talking; that is the reality. However, no justice can be claimed in war, that is also true. The only hope of humans ever finding peace is through communication, empathy and understanding, of course, after having the ability to defend ourselves. All of that requires the ability to THINK intelligently, critically and philosophically. Form your definition of truth, instead of following "others" like a herd of mindless infected zombies.

    How many of us in western society holds negative prejudice against other groups of people we deem "evil"? The Russians? The Chinese? Our Government? Politicians in general? The Rich? Us and Them? ...

    'Judging one's character by the group they belong to.' is the origin of the very injustice we try so hard to eradicate (Racism, Sexism, Superiority in any for). So please, fight your brain's biological urge to form an opinion of others by their grouping, we are better than that!

    P.S. I hope the game can give people the option to play sequences in different orders, like to what Beyond Two Souls did (would make the pacing better)
    P.P.S. I hope the DLC dive deeper into Abby's story, especially with his father

This game has a lot of good ( graphic arts, setting, characters, morality about violence, and much more) but SPOILERS - Abby, are you seriously?! This characters very stupid. Yes Joel killed her father, but a lot of time has passed, and Joel saved her life. Why didn’t she think for a second that maybe this is not such a bad person?! Maybe you should at least ask: Joel, b*tch! Why did you kill my father? Ok she killed him. And you seriously think that after that someone will want to play this character 40% of the whole game?! In the second act, I already had to force myself to play! And I think people like me a lot! And even after all this, I gave the game a chance because I love these characters (Ally). When the farm appeared, I already hoped that there would be such an ambiguous ending where Eli had to let Joel’s killer go for the benefit of those close to her, since violence only gives rise to more violence. But no ! And this was not enough for you, you ruined everything. As a result, Ellie still lets go of the enemy but loses two fingers, Dean and baby JJ. Where did she go? In Jackson, is Dina there, or where is she? I have many questions and no answers! Naughty dog, please, I beg you, listen to the players and draw the right conclusions!     Yes Joel dies in the first few hours and yes you play as Abbey, the girl that killed him but there is a VERY good reason for that. By the end and the big Ellie/Abbey confrontation you seriously don’t know who you want to win. I grew to like Abbey and was really hoping that Ellie didn’t kill her, she was only seeking revenge for her dads murder and left Ellie alive, but Ellie carved her way through half of Seattle looking for her revenge.

I could relate so much to Joel and Ellie in the first one, here everything is just upside down, you play as a character you know nothing about, can't sympathize, ended killing your favorite character. But you don't get to kill her back to complete the revenge???!! Where's the satisfaction in that???!

Not only did they kill off one of the best characters that made this game what is is. But to then force me to play as the chick that’s actually kills Joel for HALF THE GAME In a side story I could care less for is absurd. My excitement for the game slowly drained always as another chapter started in which I had to play Abby. It really is a shame. The ending was even worse… Expand
