    Greatest game I've ever played. It's not for everyone, so if you're the type that just likes a story where you run up kill everything and then live happily ever after you won't enjoy it as much. It's real and shows real emotion and consequences.

    Everything the first game has built, was ruined in this game. No body cares about the character sexuality. its written well then no problem. But that is not the case here. Joel deserved a better death. Characters act out of characters is the problem. Lets look at Joel, someone who does not trust anybody, it took an entire game for him and Ellie trust eachother and love eachother.

    Joel who could sens trouble miles away. Suddenly is surrounded with strangers and is stupid enough to give his accrual name? Are you kidding me. Gets killed by a ugly looking woman. Abby whos arms are bigger then my legs, and in fact her arms where smaller at the Paris trailer. Somehow it wasnt enough.

    After she killes joel. I hated her. And then i was forced to play her to kill Ellie? And El is the now the antagonist?

    This story could have gone much better. And sins this is a story based game, it only deserves my generous highest rating.

    Nice to look at but the gameplay is even more repetitive than the first, doing nothing to take the franchise forward, and the miserabilist story is abysmal and completely rips up everything you did in the first game, it just felt so pointless after paying all that money.

    Naughty Dog are too far up their own backsides to make a good game at this point.

    This game is amazing. The User Score is mainly a bunch of Xbox Players, and they are down-voting this game. I switched from Xbox to PlayStation just for these types of games. Thank you Naughty Dog for a captivating and thrilling experience.

Play the game and see the context, the storytelling is everything and makes the game to something special! Graphics, sound, gameplay, storytelling, amazing. Но весь гнев, агрессию и злобу Элли я полномтю прочувствовал играя и убивая всех кто был на моем пути. Концовка спорная хотелось убить Эбби всю игру и меня бесило играть за Эбби и бить Элли . Жаль Элли которая потеряла Дину и JJ ( и два пальца кст) из-за мести которою не осуществила, если бы она не пошла в санту барбару то Эбби умерла а в Элли осталась бы семья и был какой-то хотя бы хеппи енд.     I'm giving 2 simply because of its graphics and gameplay, the hard work that they put into this game cannot be denied. However, the story is nowhere near a 'masterpiece', especially when it reaches the mid point, I just couldn't bring myself to finish the game, let alone enjoying it. This is a huge disappointment.     Neben der tollen Grafik, der Musik und der Story hat sich auch das gameplay verändert und das zum guten. Erkunden ist nun um einiges besser möglich und der Survival-Charakter kommt hervorragend zum tragen. Während des Spiel wurde man immer wieder von Gewissensbissen verfolgt. So muss Gaming!

And I wasn't ready for the ending. The game didn't suck FOR ME.     What I can say without spoiling is that this game is a masterpiece from a visual and gameplay stand point. The story will be divisive, and as I said I'm not yet sure how I personally feel about it, but I think that's the point. It doesn't really have a good side/bad side. Its extremely morally gray, and your alliegance and sympathy flips all throughout. This is not a repeat of the first game. If you come looking for a simmilar story, you won't find it. In the long run, I think this will be seen as a bold and revered move by Naughty Dog.

    I loved this game. They tackle extremely hard topics and themes. It pulls zero punches and forces players to struggle with the emotions of the characters. You slowly empathize with the cast and is a very interesting look at what and "us vs them" mentality. I hope people play the game and really look at what this game was able to accomplish.

    Very good game. The soundtrack, graphics, game mechanics and storytelling is in a league of its own. The second part of the series had all odds against it, but naugthy dogg managed to do the impossible and make a game that makes sense in relation to the first game and is able " to stand on its own feet" in a perfect balanced way. 10/10

The idea that this game is about “killing is bad” and “revenge” is far too shallow. This game is about being consumed by revenge, and how that can destroy everything you’ve worked to create.

    One of this things that makes this game a masterpiece and transcends just being a game, is how different two peoples opinions of the story can be. Not everyone is going to “enjoy” this story. It’s incredibly dark and disturbing and depressing. It can be hard to watch at times and during my play through I had to pause the game and pet my cats just to relax. While I was always compelled to continue on, I could see someone not wanting to or not being able to go on. But no matter what side you’re on, there’s a conversation to be had.

    The gameplay of The Last of Us Part 2 is far and away better than the first game. It takes what was a great foundation that had the rough edges of a PS3 game and makes it feel, in my opinion, better than any other game. One of the most incredible things I noticed gameplay wise was the combat arenas. They are so perfectly designed with so many options as to how to attack and hide and run away. Exploration is always rewarding and I found myself constantly scouring every corner of every building. I never got bored of fighting enemies, both human and fungal, and the puzzles were always challenging but never obtuse.

    I feel that everyone should play this game. Unfortunately, with the leaks and spoilers, many people are going to have a worse experience than they would have otherwise. That being said, those people should still experience the game. The leaks don’t do the story justice by any means. There is so much more to it that a few lines of text and cutscenes out of context can’t show off. This game is better than I could’ve ever imagined it would be and it goes past just being a good game. It is one of the best stories that has ever been told and it is a shining example of why games are art.    … Expand

El juego me sorprendió la verdad no esperaba nada después de ver las filtraciones pero decidí jugarlo y no juzgarlo antes de probarlo, su apartado gráfico es muy sorprendente el diseño de cada entorno está muy bien hecho y logrado,su jugabilidad es excelente y cómoda,nos muestran un mundo más realista y sangriento que se acerca mucho a cómo sería el mundo en un estado post apocalíptico donde las personas harían cualquier cosa por sobrevivir, ahora pasando a la historia desde mi punto de vista comparado con la del 1er juego está un poco por debajo pero no es una mala historia cuesta aceptar el giro de 360 que dio la historia pero nos intenta explicar que aveces nuestras acciones traen consecuencias ,la muerte de Joel apesar de que no murió como un héroe nos enseña que no todos pueden morir de forma memorable,el final me disgusto un poco por todo lo que sufrió y perdió ellie para llegar hasta su objetivo para cumplir su venganza y que al final haya dejado vivir a abby no me gusto mucho, me hubiera gustado que nos hubieran dado la opción de elegir si dejarla vivir o no.

    Negative: Did you even play TLOU 1?. Have you understood anything at all?. We wanted to see Joel, working with a mature , independant woman Ellie, looking to resolve or have a work around to the situation. We wanted to see Joel and Ellie caring each other as Stepdad and Daughter, and see how Ellie grew up being a really bad ass girl. But no, some whench in your team decided that Joel deserved a dishonorable death, the guy , which has endured the worst, does pitifully by a golf club strike in the head, without any chance to defend himself, just to easily justify Ellie' s story because feminist empowerment, or maybe was that that whench in your team as angry because of Tess Death. The fans deserves better after 7 years of wait. There you go, a five.     Great game, gorgeous graphics and strong (painfull) storytelling. The controls take some getting used to but by the end of the game I had no issues getting around. This game does something most games don't. It gets you to feel bad for the things you do. For example the dogs, I hate to kill them but seriously f*ck those dogs.

    Я был одним из тех людей, которые яро защищали игру на релизе, мол, не-не-не, 3 слишком низко, она явно не заслуживает этого. Её хейтили за ЛГБТ пропаганду, слитый сюжет, устаревший геймплей. Ну короч не по порядку:
    1: ЛГБТ пропаганды, на мой взгляд, особо нет, есть намёки, мол, Лев этот, которая Лили, "шовинист", пару фраз, но так, если не рыться в поисках иголки в стоге сена - её нет.
    2: Не знаю, где там устаревший геймплей, но тут он оч даже клёвый. Бегаешь, лутаешь, крафтишь, стреляешь. Всё, вроде как, как в первой части, но заметна эволюция, в виде стелса в кустах, верёвках из Унчартед 4, ползанья и т.д. Вощем, ооч круто.
    И наконец, 3: Эхх, бля... Ну, что тут говорить, сюжет слили. Причём, правильней сказать, даже не сюжет, а всё, что после ухода Эбби из театра. Ну тип, реально, она пришла, её Лев переубедил уйти, они ушли, оставив Дину с пробитым плечом, Джесси мертвым, Элли с разбитой рожей, а Томми с простреленным коленом. Затемнение, ииии... Бац, они уже все живы, здоровы(ну кроче Джесси), чилят в домике в деревне. Каво? Че? Как? Ответ мы так и не узнаем. Ну, допустим они кое-как доковыляли до Джексона(хотя как, если у них только одна лошадь, которая от Джесси?), хрен с ним. Что дальше? Томми хочет мести, понимает, что Эбби в Калифорнии, предлагает Элли пойти туда, но та отказывается. Ок, пока всё ок. Следующий кадр, и Элли собирает шмотки, чтобы Эбби убить. Почему убить? Хуй её знает, ведь дальше по сюжету нам показывают, что Элли, тащемта, согласна, что Джоэл в момент спасения Элли был гандоном. Дальше ничего интересного, ла-ла-ла, стрельба, щелкуны на цепях. А потом Элли снимает Эбби со столба и начинает пиздить... Ты че, ебанутая? Ты же сама сказала Джоэлу во флешбеках, что он урод из-за своего поступка, и ты знаешь мотивацию Эбби, и ты понимаешь, почему она тебя оставила в живых, нахуя ты её пиздишь, алё? Великолепно, просто пиздец. Но Элли таки допердивает, что Эбби пиздить не надо, и отпускает её.
    Далее, Элли возвращается на ферму, но вся хата опустела(конечно блять опустела, оставила одну Дину с ребёнком на всю ферму, молодец, подруга), пару флешбеков, где она винит Джоэла в его поступке 5-летней давности, и уходит не в Джексон, а в путешествие черт знает куда. То бишь она поняла, что сделала херню. Отлично, гут, супер...
    Почему до Элли так долго доходило, что она дура? Знает лишь Дракманн. Хотя, возможно, в этом и был смысл, мол, Элли поняла, что столько дерьма сделала, что просто ушла, не желая показываться Дине на глаза.
    Концовка слила всю игру просто в пиздец, никакого оправдания поступку Элли нет и не будет, разве что в каком-нибудь сюжетном ДЛС.

    Сюжет - 6(из-за концовки)
    Геймплей - 9
    Суммирования не будет, потому как НАСТОЛЬКО СЛИТЬ КОНЦОВКУ, это надо уметь...    … Expand

    A 10 for story, twists and drawing me into the world. I like the more open nature ( wider paths/areas then in 1). I have been gaming since pong and this is the first series that has made real emotions come out. It made me feel deeply. I mean tears flushed face goosebumps Anger empathy all of it. Ok a 9 for the game play it’s the same with added long jumps, crawling, better hiding etc.A 10 for story, twists and drawing me into the world.     But when I saw Joel died, in the beginning, I didn't even want to continue the game but I spend my 70 bucks so I continued to play the game the Seattle part with Ellie was beautiful just what I expected from a naughty dog game. But when the part arrived that I need to play with Abby the story went down.
    After all of that, you go to Los Angeles to kill Abby but at the end you spare her.'

And getting to play as his killer for half the game is a spectacular nuance to driving home the fact that these are all just people. Theine of revenge had to stop somewhere and Ellie realizes this far too late. Awesome storytelling… Expand

    I usually never leave comments unless the game is extremely bad, or exceptionally well done. Given the score I rated this game at you can tell how much I enjoyed this game. And I wanted to leave a positive review after seeing all the backlash it received, because this game and the people behind it deserve a lot better. Neil promised a dark, unsettling, harsh revenge story, and they sureI usually never leave comments unless the game is extremely bad, or exceptionally well done. Given the score I rated this game at you can tell how much I enjoyed this game. And I wanted to leave a positive review after seeing all the backlash it received, because this game and the people behind it deserve a lot better. Neil promised a dark, unsettling, harsh revenge story, and they sure did deliver. Calling the plot bad because it didn't have a happy ending is just mind boggling.     It's a shame that people are bombing this game because of their views on homosexuality or the LGBT community. This is a fantastic game that improves gameplay and mechanics from part 1. Sure, it has its flaws and the story is more all over the place and 9 times out of 10 sequels dont beat out the original, but how does any of this make people hate the game that much?     An amazing journey through the human condition. The blurring between the classic protagonist/antagonist roles was mesmerizing. A must-play for everyone out there. If you haven’t played the first one, that is a must for this game.

I love the way player need to scavenge to create better equipment, to find collectibles, etc. This is positive points in this game. And that's it. Nothing more. At all.

    They totally f****d up the story. In the begin game gave to you motivation to fight, motivation for revenge. And, when you think you are going to take, what you want, they said: "Wait! Play another f****g character. That one, who killed the main character of previous game." I'm talking about Abby.

    I don't know about other people, but I did not feel sympathy for this character. I wanted only one: to skip second part of the game and go to the end, when Ellie will revenge for Joel.

    In TLOU we don't have any LGBT stuff, in DLC they said that Ellie is part of this community. Honestly I don't see anything, that will point at this (even when silly little schoolgirls, who don't understand anything in feelings yet, kissing each other), but if developers decide so - as you wish.
    But TLOU2 has whole LGBT post-apocalyptic world. The world is dying and the only thing that is important, by thoughts of developers, is same sex relationships?! WTF?!
    And during whole game they pointing with this. Pointing, pointing, POINTING! You are such an annoying ass, Naughty Dog!

How can you even called that a "story for revenge" when the game force you to play the **** antagonist for 10h straight to somehow convince you that killing Joel was justified ? And at the very you don't even killed the **** antagonist after killing cold blooded every single one of her friends. Yikes. Imagine Kratos at the end of God Of War 3 walking toward Zeus and be like " oh no old man i'm not gonna kill you lol cya"
    Still giving it points for the Graphisms and the audio in general but people don't care about these when playing TLOU. They want heavy story telling and meaningful characters but don't expect that in this sequel.    … Expand

    About 10 hours in and its almost all positive. Gameplay is great, graphics are next level, story line is full of drama and naughty dog didn't try to get too fancy with anything. I just wish there were more weapon gear customizations but not a big deal. 9/10 so far.

    That said, this game blows me away, just like God of War did, and your enjoyment of such a masterpiece may vary depending on what you've experienced in life.
    For fathers, sons, daughters, mothers, young teenage lovers confused by the world... This game has so much life in it that I dare to call it the best collection of digital mimicry of the human experience in one game TO DATE.
    Red Dead Redemption 2 is a competitor where this is concerned, on the map, but it's not leading the race at this point.
    Sure, there's some angst with the overall story that fans of the first game won't like much at all, but the story goes beyond comfort zones that it's portraying much more than anything we've dared to create in this medium. It's a collection of extreme human experiences from a time unlike anything most people have lived through. And if you've done some of the things this game portrays, trying to survive in a hostile environment, and happen to be a parent with those same experiences, it will hit you square in the head with a pointy brick and leave you bleeding.

    That out of the way, there are a few glitchy technical parts with the actual game to discuss, this experienced from an observer's point of view who happens to have some expertise on the subject.
    The animations are a little rough here and there, stop-gapped with technology rather than fully hand-fitted. The mocap could have been better edited to fix that, but you'll notice it fairly often that it was done green-screen all the way, which does break immersion from time to time. Some of the interactions the player can do flat out break if the input is too quick, and the player body will be negatively impacted to the point a reset is needed. A lot of games these days have the same problem, so it's not exclusive to Naughty Dog.
    There's A LOT of npc teleportation going on, both with your companion and enemy AI. Sometimes it happens right in front of you, sometimes off camera, but it's very evident it's happening frequently. Same with the sound of dialog. It should be 'in tune' when the player and an NPC are face to face, but often sounds like it's off to one side or the other. Annoying, but not unforgivable.
    There's a few graphical issues I think could be better cleaned up for further fleshed out to really push the engine like better clothing maps, but not being a current gen console owner, I'm guessing it was downgraded for performance reasons.

    All of that out of the way, the environments recreated in this game are EXTRAORDINARY. It's not fully open world but enough so that there's always more than one option to a problem. There's tons of exploration to enjoy, and done within a fairly linear-modeled environment, it's just about the perfect middle ground I could think of between fully sandbox and a stone dead on-the-rails design. World and level design is astounding, and you can feel the life in it's creation; A LOT of talented artists put A TON of work into this, with passion and skill and endless refinement. If this game wins awards for anything other than story, this will be world design.

    Overall, THIS is still a game that is good enough that I would consider buying a PS4 to play, or even earmark for the next gen to wait on as it will probably never come to PC, most unfortunately. As previously noted, there's so much life in it that should be experienced by those looking for more out of their gaming voyage without pulling punches or worrying about your trifles with certain comfort zones.    … Expand

    The art design is superb - it has set the bar so high I can’t even think of many games that look as good as this.

    The story is controversial to say the least but the storytelling is so good that it constantly makes you feel what the characters are feeling at each point in the game. Like the first one, you may not agree with the characters about the decisions that they have made but that’s the beauty of it. There’s a a lot of uncomfortable and gut-wrenching moments but if you think about the events that have happened, you will realize why it all makes sense. The story can be difficult to chew and probably not for everyone and that’s why I think it’s beautiful.

    The gameplay will be so much fun if you’re into the past Naughty Dog games like me. The enemies can be really scary and you will see how much they care about each other just like Joel and Ellie.

    Going back the story, it is controversial but very appropriate for our society today. In my opinion, you should be okay about the message that the game wants to convey if you’re not a bigot. :)    … Expand

    The Last of Us II was an unneeded sequel, before and after experiencing the game. The first game ended perfectly, and didn't need a follow-up, but I was interested nonetheless. This game however was not worth it at all. Character motivations and decisions are automatic in the since that they always go for the dramatic and violent action, regardless if it makes sense. There is no human story to this, unlike the first game. No hope, no reason to see these characters reach the end of their "journey." It is just an unending slog of revenge and death, with no alternative outlet or choice in the matter. You are told that everything you are doing is wrong, but are forced to play that way when you don't want to. You can't get invested in the characters because they are either underdeveloped or you lack sympathy for them, even though the game tries to get you to sympathize, it utterly fails at it. Just about everything is done for shock value, and along with the bemoaning cycle of revenge and death, this game have zero replay value and is a slog just to get through one play-through.

    I often felt that the game was pointless. What goal is worth all of this? Who should I root for? Why do characters keep choosing to kill each other when they have a way out? The game destroys the characters I cared about, both literally and psychologically, and tries to get me to like their killers. Sure, violence is bad...and that's it. The game doesn't really have much more to say. Remember when this was about surviving a post apocalypse with zombies? Yah, now people only care about what other humans are doing, which kinda misses the point of the setting.

    The gameplay is fine, basically the same as the previous game. The environments are stunning, as expected. Not to use a buzz term, but it is exceptionally applicable to this: The Last of Us II is much like The Last Jedi, you can have a beautiful looking piece of entertainment, but visuals alone cannot get you invested in it when its core-- the story and characters-- are rotten.

    The story is pitiful and its a shame that such a good looking game, let alone a sequel to a brilliant game, is utterly pointless when its all said and done. If you are looking for something with the same gameplay, stick with the first one and the Uncharted games. The only points this game gets is for its visuals, animation, and gameplay, which are expected to be good for a AAA game, but the story, which is the main selling point for The Last of Us II, is a disappointing, depressing, nihilistic trek that destroys what made the first game great, is drudgery to play because it makes you do things you just don't want to do or aren't invested in, and leaves you nothing in return except misery. Don't waste your money.    … Expand

    Nobody is going to remember the limpdick bigots years from now. This is a compelling game. Don't let the trolls tell you otherwise.
    The only real complaint i have is the boats are hard to control sometimes. But that's only a small portion of the game.

I do not quite understand the plot of this game, or rather the story was built so that from beginning to end he keeps on useless actions and DISGUSTING MERGED IDIOTIC ENDING, as both could, and even lied to us in regards to Joel, I thought that the game Joel will play a much bigger role and not die in the beginning of the game from a woman with a Golf club. This offended my gaming feelings and because of this, I can not call this piece of code a continuation of the first part that I went to... You guys have disappointed me...… Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
