    Gameplay-wise the game is pretty good, overall it is pretty close. to the gameplay of the first game, there are some new mechanics, but nothing game-changing as far. as I can tell.
    Graphics is also ok.It is not a breakthrough in terms of graphics, it is neither better, nor worse than in many other titles released this and last year.

TLOU2's story and characters are absolutely terrible and you will not enjoy this game if you have half a brain. It would make more sense if Ellie and Abby would turn out to be sisters. -if of course they could find a way to connect the dr. as their father which was killed by Joel- but it would be justifiable for why Ellie just couldn't kill Abby at the end. But instead we get a sequel that makes no sense other than annoy it's fans story-wise and completely ignore customer expectations. You build a single game to sell, but if you build a universe and want it to be consistent you should be listening to your customer-base and not bash them with extremely irrational and childish responses on social media or try to cut them off to react the way they want with their opinions.… Expand

    The last of us part 2 has been rated for its gameplay and not its story. So i will rate the story instead of the gameplay. Some say its so bad it's good.

    They absolutely ruined the story - boring old mechanics and terrible writing. Hiding behind a veil of "Everyone that hates it is a bigot" really brings to light the fact that these companies are using the LGBTQ community (That I am a part of) as their own personal shield to avoid any criticism.

    The Last of LGBT II - good story to kill series forever. Druckmann wanted to surprise us; he succeeded. The whole game was accompanied by a persistent sense of disgust and nausea.
    Gameplay+Graphic 6/10 like any other AAA class game...

The only thing I’d like to say about the game is: the first part is still among the best games I’ve ever played on PC, dendy, sega, ps 1,2 etc. My feelings for the first part are completely opposite to the feelings about the second part. I don’t really care about all this lesbian and transsexual stuff. I don’t like it, but who cares what II don’t want to put any spoilers in the rating. The second part proposes us the possibility that despite all hatred one can find strength to forgive the opponent. It may work but not in the way it was realized. I don’t care about graphics and I don’t really care about gameplay but I do care about plot and storytelling. Zero out of ten for spoiling one of the best games.… Expand

    The big reason Abby exists is because Joel killed a no name character in the first game. Ellie is stopping the cycle of revenge by not killing Abby? She literally kills hundreds of people while just trying to get to her. It’s far too late for the moral high ground.

    The story as a whole feels like a big compilation of progressive inclusion. I get wanting to be inclusive, but it feels like they just had a checklist of people to include and taped some stuff together. If you’re going to do it, try to actually do it well.    … Expand

Last of us 1 was a master piece , the relation between Ellie and Joel was so amazing and playing with Joel gives you such a authentic feeling of a father who see in Ellie the Alternative daughter which he lost A pity mr.     I can't believe that this crappy and messy game is the sequel of the beloved and masterpiece TLOU 1. I mean WTF is this game?? I didn't hear a single music/ST in the game. It's just nonsense slow guitar sounds that i heard at the cut-scenes!

    Do you remember the first scene in TLOU1? I literally cried when Joel's daughter died in his arms. I still watch the hospital scene where Joel carry Ellie and Fireflies are shooting at them! That Soundtrack. That atmosphere. That was the game fans were expecting for 7 years!! that bond between Joel and Ellie. I mean the story made sense. You knew what characters are going to do or say based on their personality. But in TLOU2 one second the 2 main characters want to murder everyone and a second later they show mercy and be like Nah!

    The gameplay is good. Not groundbreaking but it's really enjoyable. The graphics are so so so good. If i had to only rate the visuals and gameplay this game would've been 10/10. at it's worst it would be 9.5/10. The visual and gameplay designers did a great job for this game and everyone acknowledging this.

    But the story side of the game is awful. Nothing makes sense!!

    All in all this game is a waste of time for people who cared about the story of the first game or really liked the characters in the first game. specially Joel which was the main character of the first game. But if you just want to play a game and have fun and don't care about story or characters you'll probably enjoy this game.    … Expand

    I want to erase this game from my mind. This is a unnecessary sequel that shouldn't exist. The first game had real purpose and was emotionally satisfying to play throughout. The cliffhanger ending left us to use our imagination and fill in the questions unanswered.

    This game is an insult. Naughty Dog intentionally mislead the public in its advertising, and has delivered the GoT Season 8 of video game sequels. The characters you love are murdered, hobbled, and discarded. The ending is a joke. TLOU 2 punishes you for playing it and then judges you for the actions it forces you to take.

    Not enough to make one of the protagonists a lesbian, but let’s continue to push it further. Make the bar owner a “homophobic” person because he says the establishment is family friendly; force the player to play as a genderless looking character, kill off the best character in the whole franchise (Joel) disrespectfully so...

    Huge disappointment of a sequel. Could have been awesome if they’d have kept all the pandering and social justice messaging out of it and simply focused on what made the first so great — a father and daughter relationship, post-apocalyptic survival, tense atmosphere, and so on.    … Expand

    This game was such a disappointment. All the high end polish you'd expect from a ND game. But when the story is such and integral part of this game, when it falls flat as hard as it does the entire game suffers. I played through twice. I just didn't care. Sold the game used today.

Why didn't Abby kill Ellie and Tommy the second time?! Why didn't Ellie just kill her at the end, she has so many less significant people for less including dogs?! I don't buy the idea that Ellie would set out on a revenge mission in the first place or that she would have been allowed to go. I don't buy that Tommy would have set out on his own and I don't buy that he didn't die when he tried. I also don't buy that they managed to kill EVERYONE except Abby?!

    Why would Ellie not want to turn back if Dina is pregnant? Why would Dina not turn back on her own if she was pregnant? Why would Abby torture Joel if she's portrayed as such a "likeable" person in the game? Why would Tommy make Ellie feel guilty about not going after Abby? That seems way out of character to me.

    On top of all the above, at least half of the game play is Abby and I just couldn't empathize with her at all. I hated her and I hated playing as her. Also, the last part of the game where you play as Ellie is by far the weakest part of the game, I didn't buy into the story or the setting. It felt very cliche and quite frankly boring. I felt irritated, frustrated and disappointed with this game. Please don't but this game, if we support them then this kind of substandard nonsense will continue.    … Expand

John never pursues revenge because "it's bad". This is TLOU 2. The game tries to be profound when the story is just simplistic revenge, except you don't even exercise said revenge, you let the person who killed Joel and destroyed your hand go away because "revenge is bad". By the media reviews, you would expect this game would have a storytelling comparable to Watchmen's, except you get a script wrote by a kid.

    Joel, the dude who mastered the ways of survival of this world, fell for the most stupid and plain trap in history. Joel would never fall for such a trap, they downgraded the past game character's intelligence.

    The game doesn't do much to improve the combat of the first, the I.A is plain potatoes and it's clear that Druckmann tried to force his agenda in this game too. Neil is such a narcissist human being that he inserted himself into the game TWICE. He is the character spitting on Joel's corpse and later on he appears as a card with max intelligence as his main stat. As a person who loved the first one and was hoping to see Ellie grow as an individual, I am disappointed.

    I regret not reading the spoilers for the game because I would have canceled my preorder of the collector's edition. After the first 2 hours, the rest is so predictable. Really great graphics and sound don't make up for where they decided to go with the story, which is the whole selling point of The Last of Us.     This game is an utter travesty. I couldn't finish it and returned it.

    There are some good parts but i failed to see the 'masterpiece' that many reviews stated. The reviews are WRONG. The story is NOT enthralling (but horrible). Characters don't make sense.

    Please please don't use your money on this game.

WTF, that's one example of really poor writing, other, you expect us to sympathize with a character that not only betrays in the most coward way someone that just save her life because he killed her parents that were circus doctors?     The Last of Us 2 has taken everything that made their first game so lovable, and quite literally killed it with a golf club.

    The story and development is thrown out the window and replaced with an inconsistent and unlikeable SJW wet dream filled with depression. In a failed attempt to be inclusive and preach a positive message, the game instead perpetuates the very same racist and sexist themes it is trying to demonize.

    You cannot say that your game is “inclusive” and “promotes equality” when the most “privileged” characters become the most likely to die at any given moment despite their relevance to the plot while the “least privileged” are given insane levels of plot armour and are not seen as “evil” or “flawed” no matter what they do.

    This game absolutely fails at telling a likeable or relatable story that has a valid purpose or message; which is the main purpose of most single-player games such as this in the first place...    … Expand

Abby literally gets a better ending than everyone else. She killed Joel and Jesse, she shot tommy and caused him to lose an eye, She beat Dina almost to death and was gonna kill her even when Ellie told her Dina was pregnant, she bites her fingers off and Ellie somehow still makes the decision to let her go like wtf? Plus Dina left Ellie so now she is alone. This game **** sucks............................................................................

It literally is like a massive middle finger to anyone who loved and related to Joel and loved the first game. Literally the worst sequel of all time and the WORST EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD WHILE PLAYING A VIDEO GAME!!!

    Shame because the graphics are the best ever in a video game (though the amount of film grain is the worse I've ever seen, honestly), some of the best music and sound design ever, and amazing gameplay. My one complaint about the gameplay is the controls/aiming is no where near as good as the first game. There's something off about it that can't even be explained by the framerate being half TLOU:R

    But anyways, unless you want to really know how terrible this game is, don't even think about playing it. I NEVER sell games, but for this one I have to even though I bet encounter mode would probably be fun, it's just not worth $60 IMO    … Expand

    You should never have to play 25 hours worth of a game designed to make you feel awful. Sometimes it works for a movie to make you feel uncomfortable, but video games are too lengthy for this to feel like anything more but abject misery.

    What the reviewers won't tell you:

    All the little moments the original game featured, the unique gameplay sessions that spiced up what is arguably pretty vanilla gameplay before amazing story segments, is gone. Couple this with the fact the story is an absolute shadow of its former self, and what you get is a very long drawn out and boring game with little to break up the monotony. With the story ruining characters by not at all portraying them the way they 'should' act based on the first game and the rules it set (the story showing you how individual characters act and think, now not matching to how they act and think in this game), there's little to make you get through the sludge of the same gameplay to get to the end of the game. No longer is the story a treat you are excited to get to. Now you nearly fear it, as the game seems to get worse in its story as the game goes on.

    There's a reason why the reviews didn't allow for any discussion on the last 12 hours of the game, and it had nothing to do with 'spoilers'. It was because the game in story, character development, and gameplay falls apart in the last 12 hours to the point where you'll literally exclaim "what the f***" multiple times. This is not just an opinion of liking the story vs not. The story is not anything to be proud of even if you share the views of the creator. It's literally just a revenge plot.

    The irony is the game creator silencing people even discussing the game (even without spoilers!). He's essentially making a game that says revenge only brings you pain, all while he's taking revenge on people discussing his game in anything other than the brightest light, all while complaining people are upset at being silenced.....pretending he's the victim. It's literally the revenge plot endless circle his OWN GAME warns about.

    Sony is also at fault here. Sony will censor Japanese games for showing a side boob or simply being too "sexual" (if a butt cheek is shown in Devil May Cry, it'll be hidden by a solar flair!). But in this game, there is a girl who's literally raped... right there... in front of the camera... in a very brutal way... no censorship.

    I'd like there to be a standard here from Naughty Dog and Sony. Censor all games, or censor none. Don't censor people's opinions and accept critique, or censor it all but stop playing the victim and admit you don't want your art being critiqued.

    Being hypocritical and only acting in your favor, ie: always against what the customer wants, will get you an even harsher critique than you would have gotten had you just presented what the game was honestly from the start. The game is a pale immitation of what made Part 1 so great. It would have been scored poorly by users regardless of this controversy. But the controversy will only make people's feelings towards the game more sour, and affect the score even more. This huge difference between professional and user scores should show the masses the divide between the common person and the elites we've experiencing for ages. The only difference now is, they don't think they have to hide it. Vote with your wallets.    … Expand

    It is so bad, that really good game (first part) was not followed by the same good sequel. I can understand all the rage of the old fans, when the most belowed character was killed in so stupid and senseless manner. Also, aggressive political correctnes/SJW propaganda is probably not the best way to get good feedback from all those angry, white men who loves the first part :P

    Trashy game even for modern standards. Very hypocritical by pretending to not want to sexualize women but it does, just in a different way. The only good thing are the graphics. This game needs to fail so other developers don't follow this trend. I want my money back plus damages.

    The games basically take our hero's.. hero's that only killed when they were attack as a means to survive.. and spent the game vilifying them both. Their premise.. violence begets violence, is the largest hypocritical lie / double standard of the game. "Violence begets violence.. but check out this new mechanic that allow you to kill people in all these cool ways!!!" I felt as if Naughty Dog joined a cult and decided to preach at me in a language that they didn't even **** understand.. and the game ended up completely lost as a result..

    The world they introduced us to was beautiful but they managed to make me despise everyone in it. This game should have been the start of a new chapter.. equally as legendary as the first.. but what we got was a sequel as bad as "speed 2". Have seen it? There is a reason why : )

    I guess it is good that the majority of the community canceled their pre-orders (record high cancellations of the LOU2 game for Sony).. but like an idiot.. I was hoping that people were complaining about nothing. I WAS WRONG. What a joke... wait.. no.. a joke is funny. This game isn't even shell of its former glory and it is all because some dumb ass decided to try to be are parents instead of a game company CEO. Neil needs to lose his jobs for this..

    This does, however, make me appreciate the fact that they did such a good job on Red Dead Redemption 2..

    this is nothing but pandering to Woko Haram. One of the protagonists has larger muscles than any female heavy lifting Olympic Champions. If you are very progressive, you will love this game. If you are not part of that 2-3% of the population, you will be pissed you wasted your money on this crap. If you are a non-progressive fan of the series, your opinion will be treated as "hate speech".

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. when a game lost its main element, it is just a trash. as the most ambitious game from NaughtyDog, it should tell a good story and all the gameplay / graphics are like the multipliers to the main score. so if the main score is 0, no matter how high is the multiplier, it's just 0, that's how I justified my score.

    this bad story can be easily written by any third grade student, all the beloved characters from part 1 are just tools to help pushing the story to the next plot, and the whole theme is not interesting at all. at the end, all the characters had no development through out the whole game.

    if forgiveness can happened in a sudden flash of memory, rampage can be triggered easily as well. it is totally possible that Ellie will find Abby again after finding that Dina left her, because there is no closure after all.

    this game brings more damages to everybody, and it's better that it doesn't exist at all    … Expand
