    TLOU was one of my favorite games of all time , it ranked for me as one of the best cinematic game play experiences that blended simple game mechanics with compelling storytelling. A Step up from the Quantic Dreams experiences. I was hoping TLOU Part 2 would dethrone RDR2 for me as my current favorite piece of game storytelling.

    Unfortunately it was not to be , whilst the game play is passable it somehow felt more clunky for me than the first one , however I don't really rate these games on the game play as its more about the story and experience, the gameplay just has to be passable to not be boring, unfortunately this game somehow takes the formula of the first game and makes it really boring.

    with the story , without giving any spoilers, this to me comes across as a classic case of bad writing where the writers had an idea of all the scenes they wanted and just wrote the story around that , rather than focusing on story first.

    all other criticisms aside I dont care if the game is political or wants to push a message , so long as it does so through telling a compelling story with compelling characters.

    this game has neither compelling story or characters and they somehow managed to make the old characters boring and aside from physical appearance, they seem to bear no resemblance to their previous iterations.

    I wanted to hold off on reviewing this game until I had played it as I thought many of what we are hearing about it on both sides is propaganda. Unfortunately now that I have played it I can say for me its just a boring game with a poorly thought out story that seems more concerned with chaining a bunch of set pieces together than telling a story.

    Full disclosure , I couldn't finish this game , it was too boring , I ended up watching videos and streams to see the end , and its not often I give up on a game.

    unfortunately there is no resolution or real growth for the characters and you get to the end and feel like nothing has really happened.

    such a shame , Naughty Dog are one of the best studios out there for this type of thing, but Kudos to the artistic integrity to make the game they wanted and to stick by their vision.

    I don't like the fans dictating to artists what their art should be . That's the artists prerogative, but I think the dialogue needs to be open , I didn't like this game, but I respect this is the game they wanted to make. Maybe their next game will be more down my alley.    … Expand

Me trouxe um misto de sentimentos, os gráficos são fantásticos, a jogabilidade é muito boa, tudo que eu gostava na jogabilidade do primeiro esta presente na parte 2, com melhorias, trazendo alguns elementos de Uncharted, o que deixa tudo ainda melhor.

The ending is not as happy as a lot of people might want it, but it makes sense, cause Ellie gets what she deserves for throwing away her family and the life she had to hunt Abbey down. It feels a bit out of control, cause you can't really make a decision yourself, but that is also a good thing, cause it shows, how the death of a close character can change you for worse. If you don't like a game, that doesn't let you make most decisions yourself, don't play it. If you like an amazing and overarching story and also good story telling, feel free to try this game. It really reflects what loss causes for a lot of people and how it leads you to make decisions that are driven by anger and grief. And that is what this game teaches you. And for anyone hating the ending: a game doesn't have to have a 100% happy ending. Ellie gets what she deserves for leaving Dina and JJ to hunt down Abbey. And I think a lot of people are way too fastidious when it comes to happy endings and how they demand at least 50% happiness for a character. The game shows a sad truth about life: You don't allways get what you want, and not everything ends happy. Cause fu*king up and the cause of that happens in real life. And this is what naughty dog did so good in this game. Tell a realistic character development and a reasonable story.… Expand

People seem to have issues with the story, i however really enjoyed it. Like many others, I despised Abby at first for what she did to Joel. But through playing her, I grew to enjoy her character. To the point where I didn't want Ellie to actually go after her and let it go. Great writing overall. The only real gripes that I have with this game is that the combat could feel clunky at times, especially during boss fights or when hordes of infected rush you. And the AI didn't feel that great, especially friendly AI when you ended up in combat, or when you wanted to silently take down enemies alongside the friendly AI, which is done in more scripted sequences.… Expand

    A truly human story that leaves you questioning the value of love. Just because you didn't enjoy the story, does not necessarily mean it isn't a good one. It was never meant to be fan service, but instead a story that shows life as it truly is—shades of gray rather than simply black or white.

    Don’t listen to the hate! If you loved the characters and story from the first one you will love this one as well! And it throws you pretty swiftly into a room full of clickers so an “oh yeah I remember this” moment is imminent!

Not only did it make you think about the choices you made but the consequences of those choices. Most games won't go far enough to think beyond the 'justified' rampage. Beyond that, the story was complex, breaking down the traditional archetypes that defined what being a protagonist or antagonist truly means. The parallels between Ellie and Abby's story were beautifully tied together with Abby being just a few steps ahead of Ellie both linearly and emotionally.… Expand

    When you playing abby, there is a boss fight where you fight ellie.
    In that, when abby tries to kill dina, ellie says "she is not a part of this. Leave her. She's pregnant." Abby leaves dina and ellie without killing them, saying "i dont wanna ever see you again." Abby doesnt even kills tommy (who killed manny infront of her)
    This shows that abby is trying to walk away. She realizes that what she did to joel wasn't right and more importantly her actions costed her friends' lives. *This is abby's moment of enlightenment*

    In the end, when ellie tries to kill lev, abby says "leave him alone. He is not a part of this." And yet they fight. Ellie realizes that is not worth to kill her (realizing that abby did not kill her when she had the chance) and moreover ellie has a family now (dina and her baby JJ) and leaves abby without killing her..
    *This is ellie's moment of enlightenment*

Many people will likely dislike this game, but I personally can’t help but commend it for its ability to truly do something risky and succeed with it! The gameplay is some of the best stealth combat I have ever played and the story kicks you in the gut constantly! Switching from one protagonist to the antagonist at first made me feel unsure and worried but as the story continued on it truly turned into a remarkable experience with Both of our playable characters dealing with their choices! Getting revenge is truly a satisfying and dark experience until the game takes you to a place where it isn’t and watching Ellie come to terms with overcoming her anger and hate! I recommend trying this game as I believe it is one that will be talked about for a long time!… Expand

This last was horrible and yes, jugability is good, landscapes and enemies, but the history is the difference. My heart broke up in a thousand pieces with this disappointing part. I am sorry.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Прошёл. Четыре дня. 29 часов при условии, что заходишь кругом, обыскиваешь всё. если бежать напролом можно наверно и за 20 часов управиться.

    Сюжет отличный и лихо закрученный. Игра будто несколько раз вот уже заканчиваются и ждёшь титров, а она неожиданно раз и продолжается. Откуда хейт и недовольство западных игроков понять не могу. Лесбийская тема вообще на минималках, в тех же Ходячих мертвецах (сериале) геев и лесби было побольше и никто вроде не возмущался и не морщился.

    Спорные сюжетные ходы и гибель многих персонажей - так это привет опять же Ходячим мертвецам - эталону в зомби-жанре. Геймплей стал бодрый и разнообразный, новые механики интересные, хотя и не всегда обязательные. Стелс пожалуй лучший, что был в играх. Кодзима обзавидуется. Таких бы врагов и их поведение в МГС 5.

    Месть вообще очень прекрасная штука и чаше всего произведения её романтизируют. Око за око, вендета и всё такое. В Ласт оф ас 2 авторы нам показывают, как они уже сами анонсировали - последствие мести. Нам дают взглянуть на историю под разными углами, подглядеть её с разных сторон и это прекрасно. Здравый человек знает, что нет однозначно белого и чёрного. Нет хорошего и плохого человека. Всё относительно. У всего есть своё начало и свой конец.

    Иногда мне финал игр не нравится. Так было со скомканными финалами в Алан Вейке и последнем Деус Эксе. Хотя игры эти я считаю одними из лучших, но финал всё равно смущает.

    Финал Ласт оф ас 2 вполне законченный. Кстати, очень надеюсь если решат делать третью часть, то оставят эту же вселенную и расскажут историю совсем других персонажей. Истории персонажей второй части я считаю завершены.    … Expand

    The graphics are outstanding. However, killing Joel off just makes this game a whole piece of trash. And that second gameplay with Abbey. No no no. What the hell was the director thinking? It felt so weird besides the weird looking character I waa forced to play with. JOEL deserved much better.

La historia fue decepcionante la muerte de Joel en mi opinión fue estúpida y sin sentido no el hecho de que muriera si no la manera, es que veo la escena y no veo a Joel, veo a un tonto con un rotulo en la cabeza que dice disparame. Si el director Neal, dijo que los protagonistas no iban tener un trato especial por ser los protagonistas ya vimos lo que les paso a Joel y a Ellie pero que me dicen de Abby encontró a Joel por pura casualidad del guión y justamente para que Joel la salve de morir para después cumplir su venganza,que raro Abby tubo su venganza a costa de perder a sus amigos, y Ellie perdió a su fugura paterna, a su amigo,su pareja e "Hijo",la relación con Tommy y sus dedos para no poder tocar la guitarra que fue algo que le enseño Joel a Ellie y por cierto Ellie ni tuvo su venganza. It's a shame that the game has been review bombed (Largely by people that haven't played it) This is a phenomenal game, it truly feels like a next gen game before the new consoles are even out. The story, whilst divisive, painful and agonising, is incredible. Sure, some of us might have done some things differently, but on the whole it is excellent. If you are a fan of the first game you really need to play this, its a masterpiece.
    The ending with Joel and Ellie starting to reconcile, knowing that hes taken away from Ellie so soon after is heartbreaking, in the best way imaginable.    … Expand

    Cheap reception with violence does not catch, too trite.
    From a beautiful first part to a terrible second, what a disappointment ...
    The technical part is good especially the graphics.

    A masterpiece, both in gameplay and narrative. My favorite point is in the construction of the scenarios and search for resources, generating even more immersion in the world when compared to the first game. Don't mind the bomb reviews, mostly of them is from people who hasn't play the game, play and draw your conclusions, certainly among the best games of the generation!

    I hated the story. Honestly this is not what I expected from a Naughty Dog game they could have done a wonderful job but instead Neil Druckmann ruined the story. This game doesn’t even come close to the first one. If you are a The last of us fan don’t waste your money on this game, just pretend Part 2 never happened.

    I just played through the game and can say that it is a masterpiece. The plot is really unexpected with a lot of twists and fantastic directing. The dark story was really well made and I loved every minute. The gameplay was based on part one but was leveled up with bigger levels and nice new mechanics. I can readily admit that the character death within the first two hours shocked and jarred me. I had seen this particular leak prior to playing the game but I did not expect it to happen so soon. After telling myself that it's dumb to not want to continue or care I kept playing and boy was I not disappointed. The type of story that Naughty Dog has set up is ambitious, and it's not one that the fans wanted and to me, I think that's what makes it all the more interesting. This game was made to cause controversy and conversation. It also allowed me to zoom out on Ellie and Joel's story and reflect on the world of The Last of Us as a whole. So many moral questions were posed and in addition to this, everyone in the game seemed to be an antagonist and protagonist at the same time which is what made it all the more interesting. They somehow managed to do this while still allowing me to not love Ellie and Joel any less.

    Further, besides the amazing storytelling, the gameplay was so fun and so much more developed than the first game. As someone who plays games for a cinematic experience as well as a challenge and for fun, I found it absolutely enthralling. The mechanics are so practical and it feels so grounded and real.

    Of course the game has it's flaws, especially during the second half, there were some lull points to the story and gameplay, but once I got through those tiny portions, it was right back into the action.

    Please don't let leaks or super negative reviews from people who haven't played the game all the way through effect whether you want to play this game! Regardless if you end up liking the story or not, the questions you are going to pose to yourself and the emotions you feel throughout the game will be one like no other. Great work ND!    … Expand

    Ответ на этот вопрос очень простой, геймплей - очень неплохой и наверное один из лучших, графика - аналогично геймплею, сюжет и все что не завязано с технической составляющей игры - очень и очень скучно, неинтересно и ужасно.
    Одно дело если бы сюжет был просто неинтересным, но нет, он просто ужасен, зачем нужно было внедрять в игру этот геймплей за Эбби, При чем 10 часов, зачем?
    Вы думаете я не понимаю что эти люди не звери и реально хотели спасти человечество?
    Короче, первые 10 ч геймплея ещё переносимы но потом, это просто лгбт симулятор.

    A must play for people who wants to feel

    Abby should die, i hate her with all my heart and i wanted Ellie to drown her and leave Lev to die alone so that the cycel of vengece would end.

    It also succed that she lost her fingers and that tommy’s life went to **** but i could understand what the game was “saying” and i accepted it.

    Please make a sequal because this game broke me and i need closure.

    Ellie probably had the capability to let Abby go because of the time skip but i Saw her killing Joel 2 days earlier.

    I do beleive that Ellie should have killed Abby but that would take away from the HARD PRESSED message the game was going for. It would however have brought me closure even when i Can see and aknowledge that they were both doing something that we should try to avoid.    … Expand

The fact that only IGN JP rated thus below a 9/10 tells how many reviewers didn't care to actually review this dumpster fire. I hate to say they got paid to give it a stellar score but there's really no other justification other than keeping Sony happy.

Or it was the fact that we were forced to play with the character that killed Joel. I was turned off by this in the beginning but the story, when actually embraced, provides a much deeper message throughout the game. This game is absolute masterpiece and people shutting down and ignoring the vast character growth through immensely satisfying storytelling post death is infuriating. It makes you think a lot about everything surrounding this grounded world, the decisions you made in the first game, and the brutality of the lives of Ellie and Abby. While this game didn't take the story line I was expecting, I can't deny the brilliance of the game. The story was compelling in a different way than the first. I don't think you are supposed to like one particular side. Players are challenged by having to play as Abby, who brutally murdered arguably the most beloved character in the TLOU franchise, Joel. Abby's journey leads to a fight with Ellie where you must assault Ellie and Dina as her. Undoubtedly, these 2 events are what makes players despise this game. But if you really look into the world of TLOU, no one is safe. No choice is right or wrong to all. The world is about survival. Ellie and Joel killed hunters to survive. Joel killed dozens of people in the firefly hospital to survive with Ellie. Abby avenges her father and kills Joel, then kills countless Seraphites and WLF members to save Lev and survive. The story of The Last of Us Part II is more complicated than right and wrong. That's why I believe ND chose this path. They wanted to spark a debate. The gameplay, sound design, voice acting, soundtrack and motion capture is astonishing. The new mechanics such as going prone, the jump button, the different styles of combat depending the enemy (Seraphites, WLF, Infected) add another level of depth to the gameplay. The brutal combat animations are top tier, to the point where if you play the game multiple times, entire combat sequences would feel different each time. The amount of hard work that went into this is unfathomable. Even haters cannot deny how technically good this game looks. And if they do deny it, then they just aren't looking from an unbiased point of view. It's a shame that a video game could lead to so many vicious things being said about the Naughty Dog employees and TLOU community. If you want to hate the game, you may have that opinion, but don't try to ruin the lives of those who worked hard on it for years.     This sequel ruins everything that made the original game good. Plot is confusing at times, completely ridiculous at others and the characters are ruined. I advise fans not to play it, it will ruin the enjoyment you got out of the original.

It's a horror game. What do you expect? The gameplay is very strong. The graphics are some of the best. The story might not be for everyone. It's more shocker and gore like a horror movie. I'm anWow.     To enjoy the game you have to get ready to go through the awful amount of cringe and logically faulty story.

    The main problem of the whole story is that it shifts from zombie apocalypses to soap opera with zombie apocalypses in background.
    Dialogues and character interactions are cringe and stupid.
    For the most part it feels like low quality fanfiction.
    Putting aside progressive talking points being brought each time, character interactions often feel forced.

    Another problem is introduction of secondary hero, who is actually just psychopathic murderer.
    The problem with that is that we're forced to be empathetic to it, despite knowing little to nothing about it.
    Background is expanded later on with flashbacks, but it is already too late as you hate such awful character for a long time as you hunt it down while playing as Ellie.

    Despite Ellie being more cringe due to bad writing, it is at least somewhat enjoyable to watch her going on rampage.

    Summary: play this game on youtube, or buy with discount later on. It doesn't deserve full price    … Expand

    I just want to say the story is a little bit garbage. Some say it's akin to a look inside the deeply disturbed minds, do yourself a favor and skip this game. Well after checking this fact with my own eyes, I totally agree.
