    The graphics and gameplay are amazing, The story, huh, I didn't play first part of TLOU till few days before of the release of the second part, because i didn't have the chance and i'm also a PC player, I'll say the first is one of the best story-telling game i've ever played (and i played a lot of games in my 10 years old "career" of gaming) And the second, huh, i'll say they just wrappedThe graphics and gameplay are amazing, The story, huh, I didn't play first part of TLOU till few days before of the release of the second part, because i didn't have the chance and i'm also a PC player, I'll say the first is one of the best story-telling game i've ever played (and i played a lot of games in my 10 years old "career" of gaming) And the second, huh, i'll say they just wrapped it up just right. Si I already Beat the Game, the graphics and mechanics are ok, very similar to the first Game, the problem here is the plot, the feeling, i was upset pretty much the majority of the Game and scalets, at one point i was actually going to stop playing it.     An absolutely horrible story. Horrible writing that depends on way too many plot contrivances to be taken seriously. The characters are laughably stupid... walking into a room full of armed strangers, leaving a map behind that the enemy can use to find you, ambushing your enemy from behind with a stick of wood rather than just shooting them in the back, etc etc. Also the Abby characterAn absolutely horrible story.     Story breakdown (SPOILERS AHEAD)

    This game is an absolute masterpiece in exploring morality and the cost of vengeance. Ellie's journey to avenge Joel after his brutal death at the hands of Abby plays out like your typical revenge tale for the first 1/3 of the game, with her mowing down enemy after enemy, alongside a diverse cast of supporting characters. Right as the game reaches what is typically the climax in a revenge narrative, Naughty Dog throws you a curve ball and forces you to play the next 1/3 of the game as Joel's killer!

    At first, I was as upset as everyone else (I spent many minutes throwing Abby off cliffs and relished her death animations). However, from playing through her back story and watching her interactions with her friends and family, I worked through my initial indignation, and came to understand where Abby was coming from, and why she set out to kill Joel. Abby's portion of the game has multiple moments that are direct mirrors to Ellie's portion of the game, down to the love triangles including pregnant women. By forcing you to play as Abby, Naughty Dog is forcing you to empathize with her character and asking you why is it okay for Ellie to get revenge for her father figure but not okay for Abby to get revenge for her actual, biological father?

    The final 1/3 of the game is the most polarizing, as Ellie does act somewhat illogically in continuing to pursue her revenge, thereby abandoning her newfound family. This all comes to a head in a vicious final fight with Abby that left me physically uncomfortable. When the dust settles, Ellie is as broken as the player is by her actions. The ending feels anticlimactic and disappointing, but in selecting this finale, Naughty Dog is suggesting a John-Wickian revenge never ends as one would expect.    … Expand

    Writing this review from Pakistan , im 10-12 hours in to the game and i just simply can say there is nothing that could be compared to it,
    People are not able to get over little things rather than experiencing the Entire game And have a look at the bigger picture here what it all sums up to . A solid 10 for me!

    I think this game is perfect in all aspects, gameplay and history, they prove to you how to be an survival, and they prove to you that this world is arruined, with the revenge's and forgiving, I really think that user score on minimum 80+

He wouldn’t just trust some random people. Also if the theme is revenge is bad, then how come it all works out for Abby, but Ellie who elects not to enact revenge loses everything. You’re forced to play as a character you dislike. They try to force you to like her, but it fails. And there is no payoff. A giant tease to avenge Joel, or get some closure and Ellie can’t even play the guitar anymore. It is a horrible story… Expand

    Neil Druckman said from the beginning that TLOU 2 was a story about revenge so if you're not ready to see ANYBODY die well... Just keep playing TLOU 1 and stop telling this game is bad, because it's not !
    The story is so well written, I laughed, cried, got very angry and felt empty when the game ended. I got attached to some characters (abby) which I never thought I would attach myself one day. All this because despite the fact that I was very angry, I kept an open mind and I trusted Neil and his team. This game makes you feel something, and just for that it deserve wayyy more than what trolls are saying.
    I mean, of course some people didn't like the story, which is completely fine, everyone can have their opinion. But most of them are just mad that the game is "SJW" (which is not.. Ellie is a lesbian, ok, but NEVER in a thousand years do you see them having sex or anything like that, it's smooth and very innocent, it's not "pushed down your throat" like I've seen some people say.)

    Now I'd like to talk about the gameplay. It hasn't changed that much from TLOU 1 (apart from the dodge button) but I like this one better: you feel the tension more, you can feel just with the fights that this game is way more mature from the first. It is way more slow, by that I mean that it's harder to aim right, you feel that Ellie is more weak and has less experience that Joel. (maybe it's just me, I don't know)

    Oh I know let's talk about the music ! I loved that one too, but it's too bad that it's less present from the first one. Santaollala did a very good job !

    For me, any installment following the first Last of Us would live and die based on its story alone. The gameplay is much the same as it was before and has improved along with graphics. Voice actors and music are excellent.     I went in with the expectation that this game would be reminiscent of the first game in terms of narrative quality and character development. I could accept it if they dropped the ball slightly on both of those aspects, but they dropped the ball so low that if this is the quality I can expect Naughty Dog will produce in the future, then they have assuredly lost another customer . Its not just the direction they have decided to go with for this installment but the sheer amount of glaring plot holes and disrespectful re-characterizations that have been done to create the illusion of a meaningful plot and destroy the attachment you may have had to the previous cast of characters. I won’t even go into the gameplay-story dissonance that occurs.

    If characters, narrative quality, pacing, character development and general storytelling are something you valued in the first game, then do not bother playing this. If you feel its something you just have to play for yourself, then borrow it from a friend or buy it at a discount.    … Expand

    For those unsure about this, if you loved the first one. You will be amazed how much better this game feels. The brutality, the combat, the stealth, the exploration you was limited in doing on the previous will amaze you. The graphics are amazing tho and it is one of the most technically impressive games ive ever seen and the performances by the different voice actors are top tier. Which is sad because they story is just terrible. Watching Joel die and then being forced to play as his killer for half the game ruined the experience for me and I cared very little about any of the characters that Abby interacted with during my time playing as her.… Expand

    I will at least praise the game for not being terribly buggy, looking and sounding good, having good accessibility options, having acceptable albeit routine combat, and pushing some next-gen graphics on current gen hardware.

Also, the characters are thoroughly unlikable. The ending is completely pointless and fails to provide a satisfying payoff for all the stuff that came before. On a personal note, I don't like how incredibly violent the game is and how evil and stupid the vast majority of the characters are, and how you're forced to actually take control and carry it all out without any kind of agency to make a more positive and hopeful future for yourself and the world's characters. Lastly, I don't know what kind of moral this game is trying to impart on the player and I don't know who needs to hear that message. It isn't profound like the writers think it is - it's the moral of a story that would come out of an episode of Sesame Street.

Однако на сюжет в целом негативно не влияет. Перекачанная Эбби? Да, выглядит не очень сексуально, но как это влияет на твоё восприятие истории? Именно - никак. Через 10-15 минут ты уже привыкнешь и будешь воспринимать героя по другому. Тот же Джоел получил то, что заслуживал. В чем претензии? В нормальной мотивации для игрока? Сценарно игра построена отлично. В какой то момент игры за Эбби я понял, что не хочу за неё играть. До момента попадания в плен. Где герой преображается и показывает другую сторону личности. И в момент первой стычки с Элли я бросил геймпад на стол. Эта игра имеет минусы. Она слегка затянута, встречаются баги. История Лева с его непринятием себя как мальчика, как по мне, лишнее. Однако Дракманн сделал эмоциональные американские горки. В одной сцене ты пускаешь трогательную слезу, а в другой уже с криком: «Да когда же ты уже сдохнешь!», бьешься против Серафитов. Потом у тебя отваливается челюсть от того, как ты серпом вырезаешь пол щеки врагу. И так на протяжении всей игры. Если погружаться в историю, внимательно следить за персонажами, пытаться понять их мотивацию, то начинаешь сопереживать и тем, кого ненавидишь по началу. Эта игра не заслуживает 0 или 3 балла. Кому то она взорвет сидалище. (Это касается только тех кто поиграл в неё). Но это крепкое художественное произведение. Да, не как первая часть. Да, со своими проблемами и рудиментами. Waited so long and its so amazing to look at, I wish it would come to PC just so I can see it in full detail settings. This may contain some spoilers based on what you may count as one. First and for most though, I want to say this, don't take any review into consideration on if to buy a game or not, everyone is going to be different and like different things and if you're upset about Ellie being gay, or about Lev or about anything of that nature, just move past it cause its causing you to miss out on some great things.

    So lets start with whats bad.

    -The AI for the NPC's gets them a little in the way, only happened about three times not a big deal.

    -The controls are a bit of a learning curve to them took me a solid hour to remember how to run cause its not R or L 3 its L1 (Most games use the others cause its part of the joy sticks) but I suppose they have there reasons? Also came from playing Days Gone the day before so like maybe I was still stuck on how to do things in that game.

    - At least in my play through ammo was hard to find in the first half literally went through the first half of the game wishing I could just craft some at a crafting bench because I usually had 1 to 3 rounds for each gun, maybe 1 or 2 arrows and then maybe a pipe or something and thats a maybe, plenty of bricks and bottles laying around though, so why ammo so hard to find?

    - the inventory UI is a bit confusing at least to me due. They changed it up made it more modern I guess?
    I personally prefer he first games more.

    - Joel, that's all I'll say

    Now lets go to whats good.

    - the story, oh god this story, I was playing this game figured they'd break our hearts within the first 20 mins like they did with the first game, that dramatic moment with Sarah you know the one. Figured they'd do that to us again within the first little bit of the game, nope had the build up and the setting for it and they went on, until later which breaks our hearts

    - The visuals oh dear lord is this game beautiful to look at, it looks like they spent a lot of time and energy on the detailing and placing of objects. While playing I ended up finding a PS3 and just laughed

    - the fact they make you end up enjoying Abby even if its just a tiny bit, honestly hated her didn't want to do anything with her, didn't care about her, figured I'd just run through it real fast and get it over with and I found myself actually enjoying her side of the story, ended up taking an investment in what she did and her relationships with her friends.

    - The Wolves and the Scars and how it took the act of two to save one and now they're working together before our girl and Tommy shows up

    - They brought in complex emotions and uncomfortable topics and how the characters just accepted them and didn't freak out at least to much (in Ellie's defiance she was more mad she Diana was risking herself to be there with her at least that's how it come off to me) When Yara told Addy Lev is actually a girl by birth (not in so many words just said he was suppose to be a wife to an elder) and Addy just went along with it didn't bat and eye didn't care like it was normal for someone to be more masculine or feminine and them act on it.

    - Ellie, shes turned into quite the bad ass, she's been through so much and yet shes still the same Ellie from the first game, just all grown up and the moments where they're together make you feel like Joel and her really care about one another even though they fight and have disagreements they're like family.

    - Joel, seeing him again after 5 years playing as him, he's a little older, a little wise, yet he's still Joel.

    - We learn more about Tommy, I honestly didn't like Tommy much in the first game, just didn't stick me as a capable person as you play through the game and progress you learn a little more about him, and how alike him and Joel are.

    In review, I recommend the game, play it, decide for yourself what you like and don't like about this game. Personally I think its great, 10 out of 10 would play again even if the ending isn't what everyone is wanting or expecting or if its different that what you expected I expected the game to pick up right after they left hospital and doing that, spending their time exploring and surveying dealing with what remained of the Firefly's or something along those lines but nope, we're thrown 4 years forward and an all grown up Ellie and an older Joel and it works. Go into this game with no expectations, it'll be a more fun ride that way.    … Expand

This game is called Part 2 for a reason, a reason so obvious that we all blindly believe that the game will continue where the story left off in the first game. I’ve had a lot of imaginations of how the Part 2 may turn out to be, but boy, I’m not good at writing essays, I only get like flat pass for my english subject, but I can NEVER write something as bad as TLOU2. Remove the part 2 from the title, replace it with TLOU: The Journey of Abby or something that fits. The false advertisement with this game is so stupid that it’s not even funny at this point. First the trailer baiting us to believe that we at least get to play as Joel or have a short sequence to roam the world with him, which is exactly why I didn’t cancel my preorder, but ND lied and spits on my face.
    Then we have the misleading title. What’s next ND? Uncharted 4 Part 2 where we hunt down Nathan and smash him with a baseball bat? ND and The Last of Us part 2 can go straight to hell and rot there together. My brain refuse to believe that this is the sequel to a near masterpiece I’ve played years ago. At this point, I just hope Sony can listen to us the consumer/gamers opinion, just fire ND, I don’t care if it’s Naughty Dog or Neil Druckman that you’re going to take action against, take away their privileges for making video games in the future. I’d rather spend my $60 to buy 10 random game cd keys for $5 on eBay, still able to find a broken ass game with better story than this game that took 7 years to develope.

    The Last of Us 2 Spits on the spirit and characters of The Last of us 1. The game play is fast and fluid and the art direction is great, but those two things are all that are saving it. The Last of Us 2 is a story driven game with, quite frankly, a bad and atrocious story.

When I saw all the negativity following Last Of Us II I thought something actually went wrong but apparently the reality of the situation was people hated the reality of the situation. When Last Of Us Part II was announced in my heart I already knew what the deal was and a lot of people wanted to think they also knew what the deal was as well. However, not everyone is going to get to go out like a hero no matter how much in your heart you feel as if they should. It’s why a lot of people talk down on the movie Glass. Finding something to blame so they could justify their feelings. Don’t come to the Last Of Us for a typical good time. You can, however, come for the good genuine moments amidst a very bad time. That’s The Last Of Us, that’s always been The Last Of Us and it isn’t the time to start getting all shocked and feeling betrayed now when you realize your dad isn’t Superman. It’s great that people love and feel so strongly for these characters but they shouldn’t let that blind them to what this world is. These characters aren’t going to act the way you expect them to or hope that they would. To barrow the tagline to Days Gone, this world comes for you and this world is bigger than Joel and Ellie. The Last Of Us is bigger than Joel and Ellie. Now I said all that to say this.. This is a beautifully done game that is getting lost in all of the negativity. It hurt my heart and attacked every part of my soul but even so I absolutely appreciate the journey they took me on. It was an honest one. One I’ll never forget even though part of me wishes I could. That’s a pain that’s never going away. They did an amazing job with this game from top the bottom and in closing……Ow.” Game Paul was fun the horror aspect were truly terrifying it did drag towards the middle but then immediately picked up again.     This game is genuinly incredible. The amount of homophobia being shown by the review bombers is very telling.

    Its graphically the most beautiful thing on ps4, its story is deep and heartfelt while also heart breaking. The attention to detail is incredible.

    It plays beautifully. The accessibility options are game changing.

    The game is incredible. INCREDIBLE. heres why.
    Story:
    Watching joel get his face smashed in hurt. that gutted me pretty hard. One of my favorite relationships in a game, shattered in an instant. all of that while introducing us to new characters, and maintaining old ones. I see so many complaints about plot holes, but not one example and i cant think of a single plot hole. The story is a rollercoaster emotions, masterfully done. by the end, i found a smaller part of myself hoping for a brutal death for abby. I would have still prefered a choice at the end, to kill her or not to kill her, but i was still very satisfied. i thought the story really gave me everything i wanted. i was about to be pissed when i thought the game ended in the theatre. thankfully that didnt happen. all the idiots complaining about a lack of backstory for "abby" are just that, idiots. shes not a character that needs a backstory. you immediatly know and understand her motivations, its obvious from the start. but getting the chance to play her and watch her/grow and change is what was really special. its something ive never experienced in a game, and i loved every second i hated. and in the theatre with ellie, i wont lie, i let Ellie kill me a **** ton. but i made it through, and it made the ending that much more meaningful. so many idiots complain about tearing down the first story? how the **** are people this shortsighted. litterally half these idiots arguments boil down too "joel dead game bad" or "lgbtq agenda bad" or "me not likey abby, *random mindless complaint*".

    Game-play: thankfully i dont see too many complaints about bad game-play. the dumbest ones are those that say its old and boring... like holy **** these people, or the morons saying its a complete "copy paste". get a **** brain please. There are severe and dramatic improvements over the first. the core gameplay of a third person shooter is there. which was the first one, but now, they added a rewarding, although basic, skill tree system, and a bit deeper weapon upgrade system. but, thats only the icing on the cake. having finished the first game only a couple days prior(3rd playthrough), i was very happy with the improved AI and severely upgraded stealth mechanics. what used to be, sneak behind and stabby(not complaining) is now, so much more. i can stab that runner down, pull out a **** sniper, dome the clicker, sprint away, through some wall cracks, and as the runners/clickers fly by, shoot the runner with a silencer, and watch as the clicker hits the mine. **** orgasmic. felt even better with the human ai. And the scare factor in this game was roughly on par for me. the introduction of stalkers(invisible to the 'listen' mechanic) really made for some creepy moments. there AI was truly distrubing for me. watching them follow me, keeping me at a distance until i was distracted, or i rushed them. made those times that i managed to catch them off guard humping a wall, that much more satisfying. the "rope" mechanics were pretty meh, few and far between. but that really wasnt a concern. there were fewer puzzles, they seemed to be replaced by safe/code combo's. which were pretty interesting, and usually less tedious. if anything they made me read and enjoy more of the notes/letters in teh world. as for the open world, the areas were very open, it took me a bit to really get used to taking advantage of some of the larger areas. adding to this the prone mechanic is my favorite addition, next to the silencers.

    Graphics: really? if your a graphics whore, we have nothing in common. that said, these are some of the best i've seen on a console.

    overall Pros. Story is a rollercoaster of emotions and has some of the most visceral, gut wrenching scenes ive ever witnessed. Gameplay has made great improvements in all the right places. and graphics are top **** less tedious exploration overall. awesome stealth mechanics, and a huge improvement to the blood/gore and gun sounds.

    cons. the open world was really hit or miss. you start in Seattle in this large area on a horse, that lasts all of 1hour, at which point say goodbye to that. probably for the better though, it felt empty. let me murder abby please.    … Expand

And yes, it's political. To represent marginalized people in games is a political act and one that hopes to make gamers a little more empathetic. By the way, empathy is key to understand characters' decisions and motivations. It's a game for a MATURE audience.
    This is the best game of the generation. One that everyone should play. It doesn't matter if the plot will not appeal so much to you, you're still going to love to play this game. It's a majestic evolution of the first part.    … Expand

The last of us was beloved by gamers like myself because we connected with the characters and we loved them. We loved how a man who lost his daughter gained a daughter in Ellie. We loved the dynamic and how they interacted with eachI prayed you wouldn’t destroy this game naughty dog. I had a feeling but I still hoped.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. If you asked me to rate this game in the middle of the story, I would have told you it was a masterpiece. Sure there were parts of the story that I didn’t expect (Joel dying) and things I didn’t like, such as the path the writers had taken Ellie’s character; but the story had evolved from the original game and not simply provided more of the same, which I see as critical for successful sequels.

    The character of Abby provides a light into the different perspectives of the characters in the story (no one is the villain of their own story). Half way through the game I had flipped to team Abby, despite the connection between Joel and Ellie in the original game, I no longer cared as Ellie was no longer the sweet and curious girl she once was and I felt Abby was justified due to the pain she felt from the murder of her father. Ellie on the other hand was now mean, selfish and unworthy of the caring I and many others once had for her character.

    The ending set in Santa Barbara didn’t even appear to identify as being the same game as the one set in Seattle and didn’t add anything to the game. A grand ending in Seattle would have been a much more rewarding ending. In reality, By the end, I am not on anyone’s side; I am no longer team Ellie or team Abby, I now hate these characters and no longer feel that there is a glimmer of hope in the TLOU world. I now truly feel the despair and hate that envelops this post-apocalyptic world. I think that naughty dog set out to leave the player with a feeling of hate at the end, so well done to them for ruining what was once a story of love.    … Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
