    No satisfaction for the player at all with story.
    Characters do not make smart decisions that would keep them alive and take stupid risks for no reason. No build on the virus and why ellie is immune. No justice done for the characters that made the franchise what it is. Extremely cringey writing and dialog. "Bigot sandwiches" like anybody would    Same old revenge story done horribly wrong.

    The game is beautiful. The devs who worked hard on it really deserve the accolades, but people play the last of us for the story and the characters they've grown tonlove. And this story fails to deliver in every way. After several grueling hours of never really getting anywhere, your left feeling irritated and unsatisfied by the end. The real sense of betrayal the player feels is impalpable.

    The graphics are good, the world looks good, but so much of this game has not been changed from the first part, which came out seven years ago. You’d think when a game takes this long to create, almost everything would see an overhaul. But no, many things didn’t. The gameplay is the same, the stealth is the same, the death animations are the same for multiple enemies, the upgrade elements are the same, the upgrade station looks the same, the whole system is the same. Level design and exploration is all the same. Even the exploration is marred by so many invisible walls. This game gives you the illusion of having the freedom to explore, only to be met with invisible walls and pre planned loot and dialogues. The story doesn’t give you any freedom at all. It basically spoon feeds you a story that you have no control over. It asks you do certain actions, without giving you any choice at any point, then in the end it scolds your for doing the things that it told you to do.

    This game tries so hard to teach us moral lessons but it’s so forced that it doesn’t belong here. This all looks so plastic. There came a point in the game, when I felt so drowned into the sea of new characters and this sudden trend in this game, where I had to suddenly care about them and just forget about the two characters that I had been building my relationship with, since seven years ago, that I just stopped caring about the story. I stopped caring about the characters, and I certainly didn’t feel any emotions by the end of it. All I cared was to finish the game and get it over with.

    The linearity of this game is so evident, that you realise that you are stuck in the fairy land of one person‘s cruel fantasies and childlike urges, and their whimsical delusions. It’s their world, and they show you the start, the middle, and the end. All you have to do is hold the controller and watch a movie. You get no option at any point in the game. Not during combat, not during story, not during exploration. This is the game model that frankly should be kept far, far away from the public, because to all the people who like democracy, this is a slap in the face. If I wanted to watch a petty revenge fantasy which was so far off from its sequel, I would have gone and watched a petty revenge fantasy which was so far off from its sequel. I wouldn’t have wasted $60 and 25 hours on it.    … Expand

The game looks and feels more or less like the previous one, so It's almost like we're back in 2013/2014 game mechanic- and graphic-wise. This is unfortunate, but a good story can sometimes make up for this shortcoming. That's unfortunately not the case for this one. The writing is really bad and feels really forced.     I really wanted to like the game, It actually has really good graphics and decent game play, but that is to be expected of a triple A game as anticipated as this one. That being said the story was awful, the new characters were awful and I absolutely hated what they did to Joel. It might just be my biased opinion but the story could have been handled much better.

But she's also a lesbian so it's ok. The really revolutionary part of this game is the game-play. They did the unthinkable and added a jump button. This turns the game-play from a boring repetitive cover shooter to a boring repetitive cover shooter where you can jump, quite an improvement over the first game i must say.
    Of course all the amazing action is topped of with the story and the way they tell the story. This really feels like you're playing a movie, except it's a little longer. They added an entire host of cutscenes to really show how bad the KKK is and how cool the lesbians are. A man gives ellie a sandwich and she calls it a bigot sandwich. Empowering.

    For real **** this game. **** like this is holding the medium back and stupid little game journos that want all games to have political messages and just be movies that you gotta pay 460€ for can go and commit toaster bath. And now the first last of us wasn't a masterpiece either so stop pretending like it was please.
    Best game on PS4 of 2020? Come on!

    I've never been so heartbroken by a sequel. The only positive aspect of this game was its gameplay and graphics. Story and character development go out the window, making the game impossible to finish.

    All the new characters in part 2 dont make me feel attachted to them. It seems that they r just there for an event or plot twist and then they are discarded. This game wanted to be know as the most dramatic as possible and made terrible writing plot.

    Joel gets dead, Ellie got her fingers bit and can't play the guitar and Abby is....how do I put it.....remember all the hate for jar jar binks,well let's just say jar jar is the best thing that ever happened to Star wars the prequel trilogy compared to what Abby is.
    Weak storyline,crap character development, if there is any and...... the graphics are nice...yep the graphics are real nice and I really mean it but once u look past the beautiful graphics all ur left with is a very depressing game and they only joy ur going to get out of it is taking the game back to ur local EB games and getting a full refund so u can spend the money on anything else that is not TLOU2!!! I'm planning on spending my refund on some sneaker,yep brand new Jordan's 6 but these sneakers will forever be connected to TLOU2 and no one deserves that! Lol!     She kills one of the characters, Joel, that we grew up with in the first game from aggressive **** to Ellie to doting father figure. But it's not the fact that Joel dies, it's the way he dies, it isn't deserved. Joel saves Abby's life and in return she kills him. Then at the end Ellie forgives Abby, for some reason.
    The message of the game is revenge isn't worth it. If that's the message we should have had Abby hunt them until the end of the game then be convinced not to kill him. That would show character growth and make the message hit home. Instead it drags you out the experience early and makes you want to give up playing.
    The writers of this game, in my opinion, completely **** up and ruined this sequel the same way The Last Jedi did for Star Wars.    … Expand

    Jedym słowem GOWNO, po jedynce byłem znudzony ale po 2 części dobrze zrobiłem, ze nie kupiłem i nie kupie. Obejrzałem na youtubie gameplay i nie powiem grafika jest mega za co propsy, ale w tych czasach grac dla gry bez wątku fabuly i biegania po mapie 20minut i szukania jakiegos szajsu bez strzelania to jest kpina, a i jeszcze cos... The drive narrative of the story is beyond incredibly weak and does not make sense 70% of the time. The main characters essentially lost all of their core aspects. The twist exists purely for conventional means and the ending left an incredibly distasteful and dishonest service as a sequel.

    Other than that, the soundtrack is nice and the graphic is amazing, but how far can pretty pictures and lovely noise get when nothing is there to drive them?    … Expand

    The gameplay was terrible and got boring in certain parts. Also, video games are supposed to be a gateway to get away from all the everyday news and BS. So it pretty pathetic that they put SJW elements in the game.

    Жестокость ради жестокости, заезженный и предсказуемый сюжет. Неинтересные и пресные персонажи, в историю которых даже вникать не хочется. Уже после 5 часов прохождения так и тянет закрыть игру, удалить её и забыть, как страшный сон. Игра просто скучная.
    Локации хоть и красивые, но уж слишком большие, их становится неинтересно исследовать. Муторно. Ну, там прополз, нашёл бумажку для подтирки. Клёво. Слишком мало возможностей. В первой части была прелесть в том, что там не такие большие локации, там было уютно.
    Я ожидала от игры чего угодно, но явно не тупые бабские разборки, секс и скатывания характеров персонажей на дно. Помните Джоэла из первой части? Суровый мужик, который никому не доверяет и выживает в условиях апокалипсиса. Что с ним произошло во второй части? Доверился незнакомому человеку, пошёл за ним, представился и просто стоял, ждал, пока ему пустят разряд в ногу. Он выглядел как типичный персонаж, который просто должен был сдохнуть. Очень по-идиотски слили персонажа. Во всех смыслах. Сделали глупым доверчивым старичком, пустив под откос все его прошлое, когда он был охотником и когда был контрабандистом.
    Лучше бы вторая часть не выходила вовсе. Она пустила под откос всю историю, превратившись в пропаганду ЛГБТ и феминизма. Не такого продолжения я ждала. Я ненавижу эту игру. Столько лет ожиданий псу под хвост...    … Expand

I was highly looking forward to this game till I heard about the leaks and how bad they were, naturally for fear of my money being wasted I looked into them. The amount of **** they put into this story is **** atrocious. The only reason I'm not giving it a 0 is because it's good to be back in the world of the last of us with it's fun gamplay style. Even with the devs not knowing what to **** do and forcing their political ideology down our throats. It's a mistake of a **** game, and I will pay you to not buy it and to boycott naughty dog to send a message that this is not what we wanted. They have the media on full damage control, and are forcing game review companies to give them good ratings. I wouldn't be surprised if they take our negative reviews down.… Expand

    The direction this game was driven towards was like a drunk pilot driving an aircraft carrier into the ocean. The graphics are improved, but some textures and scenes are just downright ugly. Some characters don't move when approached and dogs "rotate" instead of turning their bodies naturally when you go to pet them, destroying the immersion even more. Crafting is also improved but extremely overrated (all this hype about JuMpInG being added to the game for example is a complete let down) like most elements in this game. Speaking of elements that are disappointing, this also applies to the story.

    Joel and Ellie are killed by the "main antagonist", but the dumbest thing of all is that Joel isn't even "in" this game. You only "interact" with him in flashbacks which are incredibly stupid. Characters are more diverse, but are all unlikeable and at times insufferable - including Ellie. It doesn't feel like a real horror, the Last of Us 2 experience. It feels like what would happen if the franchise was taken over by SJWs led by Anita Sarkeesian to prove some "#woke" political point no one cares about, and not even doing it well (for example, Abby, seen as the main antagonist, is transgender, which is portrayed as a villain but also deserves pity cuz Joel bad! Or the constant hilarious and stupid decisions Ellie makes that you have no control over.) The pacing is also terrible. The game feels way too long for what it is and just seems to fester as you play it with mundane tasks, as if the devs were forced to add filler to meet a quota. The sex scene with Abby for example, while extremely cringey, lingers on way too long afterwards at a black screen for no reason other than to fill time and make you question life itself.

    TL;DR Overall its an average horror game with slightly better graphics and a terrible story, but as a LAST OF US game, comes off s an overrated, boring, and quite frankly extremely disappointing experience, that was a product of poor decision making, abuse of employee labor and having to PAY "journalists" for reviews and 10/10. If something is too good to be true usually it is. This game is an abomination of a forced sequel for easy sales, that nobody asked for. Don't believe the paid reviews, or hell even me, go and see for yourself how much of a trainmen this franchise has become - unless you're an SJW, pass. This game single-handeldly ruined the franchise. Play the first TLOU instead.    … Expand

    I wanted this game to be a smashing success, graphics wise it’s amazing but the poorly written sorry just doesn’t make any sense. In the first game Ellie looked up to Joel as her hero why do her decisions in this game go against all the character development we went though with her in the first game ?     Oh god, i was actually so hyped for this game. But the result is a comeplete garbage game. Gameplay is good combat feels satisfying to the end. Animations and camera angels are almost perfect. But i dont care about it. I care about the story and its **** garbage. Thank you neil druckmann.

Maybe a cover song stealing was ok in their opinion, but one character puts a guitar out of a case, plays it and leaves it on open air with complete indifference, that guitar will turn unplayable. Maybe musicians should join some right-demanding movements to make some rich boys to value them too?

This is what happens, horrible story telling. Not only that, naughty dog tried to cover up the same old gameplay mechanics from the first game by creating a “great” story, Which they failed to do. I get that Joel had to die, I accepted that as soon as I heard a sequel would be released but his death not two hours into the game was horribly unearned and poorly written. We didn’t even get to play as him at all basically. On top of the fact that we are forced to play as a character who is horribly written... this game is a mess and a waste of $60. But we can’t say we were not warned with the leaks. I read a review on Metacritic that described this game as a fan fiction-type story. They are 100% correct. People, you must listen to your peers and not these huge video game review companies. We know what you want as fans of this series. Skip this game.… Expand

Joel should've known he was being led into enemy territory, example was in the first game where Joel knew he was being tricked by some hunter and ran him with the truck. 2nd of all was the false advertising, how disgusting is that. Tricking your fans, having our hopes high about Joel, then tricking us with flashbacks and Jesse. Naughty Dog, how can you make TLOU so good and come out with a sequel so bad??? 3rd and final, the way Joel died. A beloved character that WE FANS HAVE A WHOLE GAME WITH dies within 2hrs of the game to a chick that we don't care about and don't know. SERIOUSLY?? AND WE'RE FORCED TO PLAY HER AND FEEL SYMPATHY?     The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.
