    Pretty shame the reviewers who give this game a 0. The story did in fact shift gears, but its still great. I was always looking foward for what comes next, addicting script and very unexpected. Thats what makes it great. The grame has a huge impact on the consumer and the more sensitive might rage with bad reviews, but its unfair and unrealistic. The sound is perfect makes your heart ratePretty shame the reviewers who give this game a 0. The story did in fact shift gears, but its still great. I was always looking foward for what comes next, addicting script and very unexpected. Thats what makes it great. The grame has a huge impact on the consumer and the more sensitive might rage with bad reviews, but its unfair and unrealistic. The sound is perfect makes your heart rate increase in those suspense scenes. The only thing i think it could be improved is the stealth kills, a litle more diversity in the animation kills.     Отбрасывая мелкие нюансы с персонажами и то как они вписываются в мир игры , я полностью соглашусь с оценками журналистов об этой игре. Жаль людей которые так и не захотели посмотреть в лицо предложенного Дракманом сюжета в полную силу, совершая ту же по сути ошибку, что все главные герои игры, безвыходно идя на поводу у своих страстей, ненависти и мести ,и быть может правы, наверное, т.к. по другому поступить и нельзя. Мне кажется, что большинство посмотрели на игру через призму своих ожиданий и они не оправдались и поэтому столько гневных комментариев, низких оценок и т.д., По сути люди делают тоже самое, что и стала делать Эли обуреваемая жаждой ненависти, пошла мстить за Джоэла, как и Эби которая не желая вникать в чужие мысли и причины других пошла мстить за отца. Я убеждён, что Нил Дракман, скорее всего предвидел такой исход и всё равно шел на этот шаг с сюжетом осмысленно, дабы показать игрокам, нам, какие мы есть на самом деле и как это всё случается. Это же так очевидно...и как это всё в конечном счёте безысходно. Автор игры хотел сделать месседж к людям и сделал его? потому что, наверное, считает это важным. Найдет ли он понимание от аудитории и положительный отклик? или всё закончится беспощадным мочиловом со стороны геймеров в его адрес? вопрос риторический...Повторюсь, Нил Дракман создал очередной шедевр!    … Expand

    I loved The Last of Us 1. Now that I’ve seen the ending of the second I can only consider this sequel to be what every naysayer claimed it to be: an absolute bastardisation of everything the first game was from a story perspective. It plays okay, but so do other games. This wrecks the entirety of what made the first game so special.

В принципе, игра этого не заслужила, некоторые сюжетные повороты спорные, но они важные для сюжета, видимо эти люди хотели игру, где главный герой Джоэль снова мочит всех направо и налево, но игра не про это, вот и полыхнуло и в этом они увидели "сжв заговор". Эти люди зарегистрировались на метакритике лишь бы поставить негативную оценку и честно, я считаю, что они, простите, конченные мразоты, которые не удосужились поиграть в игру, срут ее за то, чего в ней нет и из-за создают негативный ореол вокруг игры и это пойдет ей не на пользу. Если вдруг после этого Naughty Dog перестанет делать такие игры и уйдут в попкорновую попсу, которая и нужна этим дегенератам, то мы потеряем еще одну классную студию, такое было не раз.… Expand

    Honestly. they lost direction of the game, the only enjoyable things were the flashbacks and the overall graphics, 4 years of wait and I am heavily disappointed.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The ending is just sad and unsatisfying. Ellie loses so much and doesn't even get what she did everything for. She lost Joel,Jesse,Dina,Tommy hates her for not going after Abby and she lost the ability to play guitar,which reminded her of Joel. What happens to Abby? She gets her revenge at the cost of her friends. If she was shown to also reflect on how it wasn't worth it I wouldn't want her dead and would be at peace with the ending. Another problem with the game are definetly the order of the flashbacks. If the game was in chronological order it would have been so much better. Joel's death would have had more impact as we get to play through all the flashbacks instead of it just being for shock value. The most enjoyable parts of this game were the flashbacks that remind you of the first game. I don't know what happend to this game and why it turned out like this when their previous games were so good. The graphics on the other hand look fabulous and the atmosphere is very cool, although compared to the PS3 The last of us not that impressive cause Naughty Dog's games look good in general. As a standalone game this is a 7, as the sequel to a game I loved so much its a 5 at most as it disrespects Joel in the worst way possible,characters behave strange and the writing is just.... wack.… Expand

The storyline is horrible. They kill Joel in the beggining throwing away all the character development and his realitionship with Ellie from the first game. And then, they force you to play HALF the game with his killer Abby which is not even an interesting character at all. At this point i really just stopped playing and whatched the ending on youtube, and was shocked how bad it is. Every character in this game is so dry, that you cant care about them. Even ellie became a piece of wood. I dont understand how can you make it so bad from such a masterpiece. Honestly i wouldnt play it even if i get for free. Its a total waste of money, and disrespect for all the fans of the original game. 0/10, dont buy it.… Expand

I found the story to be deeply powerful, and while it may look like the majority of people don't like it I guarantee you that they're just a very vocal minority. As I get older I've been finding it much harder to get really into a game, but this one had me right from the start. The visuals are incredible, the game play is engaging and intense, sounds design is best in class, and while some may find the story and its ending to be upsetting I found it to be very natural and realistic. I mean who actually thinks you can have a happy ending in the middle of a zombie apocalypse, especially after all the traumatic experiences these characters have gone through? Anything else would have felt forced and out of place. Go out and get this game!!… Expand

Just finished the game today, i love tf outta this game im literally sad asf that its done, the game put me on an emotional roller coaster...the people who hate this game are hating on it because of the LGBT stuff goin in the game, like its 2020 man grow tf up deal with it, this game is one of the best if not the best story tellers I’ve ever played, playing the intro had me like why tf would abby kill joel but as you transition over to abby’s life it makes you understand on why she did what she did it was overall smart of naughtydogg to basically put the famous quote(there’s two sides to every story) in perspective with this game, at first i hate abby for joel but as i played with her I honestly can say that Abby/Ellie are literally the same person, i grew to like abby more as a character honest to say,,think about it joel kills abbys father & out of retaliation abby kill joel, ellie kills abby’s friends & vice versa abby kills hers so it reality joel started everything..note*abby spared ellie twice!! I was so glad abby didn’t die in the end nor ellie cause if abby wouldve died the revenge cycle wouldve just continued..I have so many unanswered quesions!! They need to add a DLC OR Sumn Cause Whew im in distraught over here… Expand

Ich finde es schade das die Leute so schlechte Bewertungen geben, es wird dem Spiel nicht gerecht. Jeder darf eine eigene Meinung haben, aber was hier fabriziert wird hat nichts mit Kritik zu tun sondern ist Blödsinn. Nur weil einem die Geschichte nicht gefällt. Das macht ein gutes Spiel/Film aus.     Love it! Amazing graphics, gameplay and the story, wow. I don't think I've ever seen such a complex story before. The end had me crying like a baby... Time for new game+ now I guess. Also big thank you to Naughty Dog for the representation.

I feel scammed out of a story that could of been great but was complete dog **** I hate Abby, not cause she trans, but the fact I watched her kill off one of my favorite characters in the game and instead of the game just leaving it at that, it continues to SPIT on me, and I’m forced to play 10 hours of a character, who’s an **** throughout a majority of her play through. And the ending... wtf kind of ending was that, I’m thinking “yes I’m Ellie and now I can avenge Joel by killing Abby” but naw, instead I gotta fight this character in water for like 5 mins and for what?!     Movement and camera could have been a bit better and more fluid but it is what it is.
    Graphics are perfect on a HDR display, can’t advise on others.

Убивают еще одного близкого компаньона. Зачем так делать? Механики и геймплейные моменты ничего нового не принесли. Никаких красивых видов нет (Я видел пейзажи в разы лучше в играх 2005-2015 годов). И как же бесит это бесконечное ЛГБТ и феминизм. В игре доминирующая масса нпс и персонажей - женщины. Главную героиню сделали лесбиянкой и подают это в агрессивной пропаганде. Это выглядит ужасно и мне очень не приятно наблюдать за подобным. Можно было вполне обоснованно свести в линии Элли с Томми - они могли мстить вместе, была бы какая-никакая атмосфера первой части - два компаньона с вполне понятной связью, но нет - нужно ввести ЛГБТ персонажа, с которым абсолютно ничего разумного нет. Я уже ощущаю, что происходит ущемление "базовой" ориентации в играх и фильмах - хочется видеть эту привычную нормальность, а нам все толкают эти "меньшинства", которые уже реально достали. Это к вопросу о сюжете. Прокачка в игре тоже хромает - оружие качается по одной линии, навыки качаются линейно и без одного ты не откроешь другого - даже если тебе даром не сдался навык, ты будешь его качать, чтобы получить чертовы +20% ко здоровью. Искусственный интеллект ужасен - компаньона не видят зомби, если мертвец агрился на тебя, а союзник стоит рядом с ним, зомби бежит на тебя, а товарища не тронет. Союзник попадает примерно в 20% случаев, явно учился у имперских штурмовиков. И это в условиях апокалипсиса и дефицита ресурсов, патронов. Ага. Игра мне не понравилась и я не рекомендую никому тратить на нее время и деньги. Лучше переиграть в первую часть. Один балл за симулятор гитары в начале игры, это было прикольно.… Expand

    What I can grab from the story is revenge after revenge, a never ending cycle, Joels actions shaped the entire West Coast, making people split. What's so hard to understand?
    We see communites and people trying to rebuild the world, everyone cries about the story not being Apocalyptic, but if the game was only zombies they'd cry about that too.
    Most of these bad ratings are people who bandwagonned on the hate train or just hate the fact that ellie is gay and Abby is more masculine and fit than them.

The gameplay had very welcomed improvements sure as being a to go prone and jumping as well not have make shives every two seconds. The story took you on an emotional ride. I was little off took when you played as Abby for the second half of the game. Tho it help flushed out her motivations for killing Joel at the beginning of game and gave her good character arc. At the end of the game I liked both Ellie, and Abby and didn’t want either one to die. I look forward to seeing if they make a part 3… Expand

    I love the game, hate the story. The point of TLOU2 is to continue TLOU1's story, but the second one just straight up replaced the character(s) spotlights onto new ones as if TLOU1 never existed, which what makes the story bad. It's like TLOU2 is a separate game from TLOU1.

Honestly about four or five times throughout the game I thought I was at the end and for the first few I thought, “ehhh decent story but not that great.” Then the story kept going. What it ended up being is a masterpiece, better than the original. This game forces you to play as Abby, the one who killed our beloved Joel. When it first switched to her I didn’t want to play with her. Was I wrong. She’s now my favorite character in the series. She has so much depth to her. The entire game uses this to show us there are two sides to every conflict and who is evil is merely due to where you’re standing. Abby overcomes her hate in some respects but can’t let go of it in others. It’s the most true example of human nature I’ve ever seen in a video game. The two games together could be studied over a semester in the same way we studied classic literature in high school and college. I can’t say enough good about this game. Don’t listen to the people who hate it. This is truly and honestly the best game I’ve ever played.     I just finished playing The Last of Us: Part II and I could not be more disappointed. Matching or even topping your original The Last of Us was a far stretch, and I don’t think that a lot of people were actually expecting you to do so. However, the critics are raving about TLOU2 ‘It’s a masterpiece’. The players have spoken too, and they think it’s a slap in the face. I agree with the other players.

    I really wanted to play with Ellie (and also Joel), but you have brutalized those beloved characters like they meant nothing. Joel gets killed by a nobody within the first hour of the game, and then Ellie is kind of going on a revenge mission but the game is not at all about that revenge. The game is about Naughty Dog’s double LGTBSETGGSWRGF (whatever letters are in it these days) community being shoved down players throats.

    No, I don’t care that I (Joel) killed Abby’s father in The Last of Us
    No, I don’t want to run around the woods for hours and hours with a few Asian people who have nothing to do with the main story.
    No, I don’t care about Abby
    No, I don’t want to play with Abby for 60% of the game
    No, I don’t want Abby to run around that hospital hallway for the 5th time in a nightmare playthrough
    No, I don’t want to run all over America to get some first aid kit for an Asian NPC I don’t care for. Amputate the arm and be done with it. It’s the apocalypse. I’ve killed hundreds of people in this game. I don’t give 2 cents about the people who helped me from getting hanged in the woods.
    No, walking simulator for hours and hours with Abby through camps, stadiums, hospitals and skyscrapers does not work for me to get any sympathy for Abby. She killed Joel, I don’t like her.

    Why do you, as a game company, lied in your TLOU2 trailers about Joel? ‘You didn’t think i’d let you do this on your own?’ This is false advertising.
    Why would I care about Owen, his dog or the Aquarium after pointless hours of roaming around there? I already KILLED them as Ellie. I love dogs, but telling a story this way does not give me any remorse whatsoever.
    Did you think players were going to enjoy hitting Ellie in the theatre and chasing her down? She’s Ellie for crying out loud.

    As you can see, there are some minor questions and issues I have with this game. The political and social agenda that has been shoved down my throat for hours was not entertaining or fun at all. I never thought there would be moments I would have liked to uninstall the game and just watch the ending cinematic online. I pushed through however, hoping that my pointless flashback with Abby would be short lived. Instead, I had to play for hours, and hours, and hours with a character who ruined the game for me. At one point during the sky elevator chapter, I just forgot who she was (on purpose) and said to myself that this was just another generic Tomb Raider or Uncharted video game. This is not The Last of Us. I will never play this game ever again, and I feel that Naughty Dog has lied to the gaming community. Maybe you should have just made a revenge game and let us kill all those monsters who killed Joel. Your writing is bad, and I don’t give 2 cents about your double agenda. You make entertainment products that are not entertaining. I was so glad the game was over. TLOU has some wonderful environments that are spoiled because I just ran past them at some point. Just to be done with it. I didn’t care anymore. Abby just ran into hordes of monsters and I enjoyed being killed by them. The credits should have rolled there and then. But hey, in the end we got to put some sheep in a barn with Ellie, that’s gotta count for something. I’m just sorry that we as a gaming community are the sheep and Naughty Dog is laughing in our faces. Maybe, in 2027 when The Last of Us Part III comes out, we can have a backstory about the armed soldier who killed Joel’s daughter in The Last of Us Part 1. Maybe we can get some sympathy for him as well. Good job Naughty Dog, by ruining a fantastic franchise. I hate The Last of Us Part 2.    … Expand

We forget that not all stories told to use thru any form of art is meant to be one thing. Sometimes a picture can look of way, but you see something different. So, the story is what kept me in this game. The look is nice. sound is good. Gameplay is I would say its weakness. I never felt like I was fully in control of Ellie. She kind of went left when I went left and when switching to right, she would walk backwards awkwardly. The gun play has not changed much. It’s a bit wonky but it was like that in Last of Us. SPOILER TALK: So, I went into this game with an open mind. I didn’t read any spoilers till after I was done with game. Am I a fan of Abby and the time I spent controlling her? No. I did not. She killed my favorite character in one of the greatest story games I have ever played. Why would I want to control her? Well the story explains it. Joel was not a good guy. He was not the good guy in first Last of us. He did a lot of horrible things before the first game. Did bad things during first Last of Us. And Abby was someone that he wronged. Her hate came from the murder of her father. The man that Joel killed in the surgery room to save Ellie. In our eyes we loved Ellie just as much as he did. We spent a lot of time with them to justify what he did... But. We knew it was wrong what he did. Right before the credits of Last of Us, when the camara zooms in on Ellie. We see her puppy eyes. And all she says is "ok".. We knew everything that just happened was wrong. We felt guilt. We and Joel lied to her. The chance of everything going back to normal was stripped away but a man and a lie. So ... I understand Abby. Her hate she had for Joel. And why she had to kill him. It’s what we felt for her thru Ellie while we spent hours hunting her and her friends. I will not go into any gay or trans or any issues like that because I believe your opinion is your opinion. I had no Issue with any of that. Back to story. I would have preferred to not control Abby. Always be with Ellie. To have the story of Abby and her dad revealed someway different. For Ellie to be like you killed my dad and Abby sees what she has done. That the father was taken from her and her hate and revenge has done the same to someone else. I cried a little when Joel died. I had to stop and gather my thoughts. I was sad, angry and confused. That was good story telling. Going back in time thru Ellie's memories was amazing too. It made me feel the feels lol. To see hear Joel's voice again. To hear him say kiddo. I felt what I believe Ellie felt. Calm. Happy. and once the scene ended. More anger and hate. Now I will not go to into it. I did not like the ending too much. I think going back for Abby. Trying to kill her and then deciding not to. Getting home to see Ellie's life is gone. Dina and everything gone. Missing her fingers so she cannot even play Joel's song to Ellie.... I teared up again. We see a flashback of her last conversation with Joel after the bar fight with Seth. She finally lets out what Joel's lie made her feel. She felt useless. Like her life meant nothing. And they patch things up. Joel saying if he had the chance, he would do everything again made me feel the feels x5. He loved her. She was his kid now. And he would always fight for her. He would beat up a bigot at a bar, or even mow down an entire army of solders to keep her safe. To finish up. I enjoyed the story. It had flaws. It could have been told better. This sadly was not a story about a girl and her dad surviving. It was a story about lose. Hate. Revenge. Losing yourself. Mentally going where you thought you could not. A place you might never escape. Ellie went thru something I am sure Joel went thru with the loss of Sarah. I am an optimistic. When Ellie remembers how she was able to start forgiving Joel. I hope this gave her hope to go find Dina and get her life back. To leave the murder and hate behind. And be the girl in the room full of weed. Being somewhat happy. And having a reason to being alive. So, I am giving this game an 8/10. It made me feel what I did not expect to feel. Thank you… Expand

I personally believe that this game must have gotten killed by crunch as it heavily feels as though they wanted to change things but were unable to and hodge podged a story together. Playing as Abby does not make you like her, they did not do a good enough job at humanizing this character, simple as that. If they maybe started the game off as Abby it might have been different, giving us her perspective from the start may have helped us like her more but she’s also written to be frankly, unlikable. The emotions you get playing this game are also bland at best. The only thing I ‘felt’ while playing this was anger when Joel died. After that I just felt bored. When the story ends and Abby leaves when Ellie lets her go you don’t feel bitter or angry or sad, you feel nothing. I had to ask myself, what value did I gain from this? I honestly couldn’t answer. If you asked me this question about the original TLOU, I would’ve told you about the love for the characters and their bond. I’m that regard TLOU 2 fails at every single step of the game.… Expand

    It's just amazing. The gameplay it's kind like the first one, but with some new mechanics that improved so much in the stealth and shooting in the game. Graphics are impeccable, soundtrack is beautiful. And the history and characters, they're amazing. This game made me feel something different about the LGBTQ community, It's like I have so much more empathy for them now, as if the game hadIt's just amazing. The gameplay it's kind like the first one, but with some new mechanics that improved so much in the stealth and shooting in the game. Graphics are impeccable, soundtrack is beautiful.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The original Last of Us has been one of my favorite games ever since it came out. I've played through it on every difficulty and multiple new game pluses. The same can not be said of Last of Us part 2. Gameplay wise there aren't many bugs and the game seems stable enough (only 1 crash just after the halfway point) but it fails to bring anything new to the table. The jumping mechanics and "improved stealth" barely work and the AI is just as bad as the original Last of Us on ps3. On the subject of the plot. It's nothing new. Tales of revenge gone bad have been around for as long as mankind has told stories. Violence breeds violence and dig two graves. We all know how that goes. Last of us 2 however has the brilliant idea that if they make us play as both sides of this fight we're going to get attached to both and want to see as many of them survive as posible. This might have worked but unfortunately the group Ellie is hunting down gets only a few minutes of screentime each and it all seems a bit forced. There's also the minor insignificant fact that we WATCHED THEM BLOW JOEL'S LEG OFF THEN BEAT HIS HEAD IN WITH A GOLF CLUB. If they hadn't made us watch that and instead held that back until the final confrontation and kept us guessing as to why Ellie is hunting them down that might have gone over better. As it is the entire second half just feels like an insult to the first game and the people who enjoyed it. Things come to a head and Abby lets a severely wounded Ellie and her companions leave with a warning to never let het see them again. A year later Tommy finds out where Abby is hiding and sends Ellie on one last ride.

    The final chapter in Santa Barbara was one big let down. I was half hopeing for it to be that big rage fueled massacre just like the hospital in the first game, a chance to use all those upgraded weapons youve spent the entire game working on without having to worry about ammo or of it's better to stealth past and leave this group alive but it wasn't. Instead you sneak through a compound of raiders that call themselves "rattlers". There are a few interesting bits where you can use chained up infected to kill some of the rattlers and spice up the fight with a rouge 3rd element but it ends up working against you more often than not. Finally it all comes down to a single fight, a weakened Ellie suffering from internal injuries and having lost far more blood than is healthy against a starved, dehydrated nearly dead Abby. In the end both sides just walk away Abby cut up and bleeding and Ellie having lost 2 fingers. Finally Ellie returns to find the new life she had build has been destroyed in her absence.

    I want to like this game, I really do. But as it stands now with broken AI and a poor story that we've all heard before I just can't bring myself to rate it anywhere above a 4.5/10 and even with that I feel like I'm being too kind.    … Expand

    Es muy buen juego en tanto a mecánicas y te mantiene entretenido al igual que los gráficos, pero es una basura en cuanto a historia, es el dragón ball gt de la saga, no debió de existir, Abby es muy odiosa y jamás vas a sentir compasión por ella o cualquier otro personaje que el guionista quieres que sientas Una mierda

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. To be honest, the story is not on the same level as part 1 but it is still a good story. It is darker than the first one and that shows. The story is about revenge, where something happens which forces Ellie to seek out a group and kill them. It shows more perspectives on the same situation which ultimately gives the player some form of empathy towards both the protagonist and the antagonist. The characters in this are not as likable as the first, and some of them are unnecessary and two dimensional. But the game is focused around Ellie, and not Ellie and her friends. You don’t get any background on the other characters that is not player controlled. But even then does the game portray Ellie extremely well

    I can understand that people are disappointed in the story, but even though the game don’t have the same standard as its predecessor, it is still a great game with better storytelling than most story driven games I have played I won’t say that all the negative reviews are about the lgbtq+ aspect in Ellie’s relationship, but some of them are, and to be honest it isn’t too much or too forced as some people make it out to be. It’s just there and wouldn’t change the story too much if Ellie where to be straight. There are more aspects that makes this game great; the graphics, the gameplay, and the overall environment you are in. I give this game an 8 because of the reasons I wrote in this review. I actually enjoyed it, but it doesn’t get a 10 because of the lackluster storytelling and plot holes that exist within the game

    P.S. This game doesn’t deserve all the negative criticism that it got, as some people give it 0:s and 1:s because they either don’t like the overall story, or that it is not as good as the first one. This game could never reach the bar set by the first one, because of how pivotal the first one were to the gaming industry. There was no game like it, but now you have games such as Detroit become human, Jedi fallen order etc. that follows the same format as a story driven game as the las of us 1. To reach the same level in this game is impossible, so don’t judge it because of that    … Expand

    Amazing graphics and atmosphere as expected. Just a shame to story line didn't match that epicness. Some much time and emotions was invested in the characters that made the first game, just for it all to be p***ed up the wall. Such a shame, GoT comes to mind

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
