I am rating this game a 3 for the (1) acting, which is admittedly seller, (2) the graphics and audio which is second to none, the (3) effort that clearly went into creating the world of this game. Unfortunately, the compliments stop there. While the actual acting and some of the dialogue is good, the writing is absolutely atrocious. If you hated The Last Jedi and season 8 of Game Of Thrones, then you'll hate this game. The inane choice of killing off one of the main characters in the first 2 hours of this game is already ridiculous, but the incredibly disrespectful way this game treats that character is horrible. After that, I had no motivation whatsoever to keep playing, and this isn't even bringing up the later sex scene that is the most uncomfortable thing I've ever seen in my life. One last thing to mention is that the gameplay and controls have barely changed or improved from the first game, from 2013. Bottom line, don't buy this game if you cared at all about the first game, but maybe if you don't care about story and characters and only care about impressive graphics then this might do it for you. But frankly, this game is so overly long and frequently boring, even the graphics probably won't do it for you.… Expand

    I'm very excited with graphics, gameplay and detalisation, but I don't like so much storyline, but I know that this is a cool story about people's relationships. This game isn't recommended for kids, but for teens or adults, it's a good choice, which contains blood, mature speech and some crime scenes.

    To those who are saying to the creators to get out the politics of TLOU, I want to say you only allow politics when you don't feel attacked or when the protagonist is a woman that you can consume with fanservice, like Tifa in FFVII.
    Ellie was seen kissing her best friend. It was the way the creators said she was a lesbian. If you can vote without hate, the better
    Other games, like fallout arr about politics, always ending with a clash of powers between differents factions. But you don't feel digusted because of that. Try the game and look at it. With other eyes. Woman are no products of fan service, for god's sale she's a grown wlman in the apocalypse world, you can't expect Ellie with make up and extra big boobs.     I loved the last of us mostly for the story, this sequel ruined It. Im so sad...almost nothing changed in game mechanics, the only new thing is in the graphic, thats very beautyful,but in my opinion what made great tlou1 was the great story, for me this is just one of the many bad sequel.

The way Joel died is genuinely retarded, he is a smart character and was made into a dumbass who doesn’t know anything about trusting people in an apocalypse. AND THE FACT THAT YOU PLAY AS HIS KILLER AGAINST AND FIGHTING ELLIE is borderline retarded. The ending is so unsatisfying, as in dumb. You kill a lot of innocent people to find Abby and then you let her go.     How on earth can you kill a character you made us spend a whole game to bond with, then do that. This game was built from the relationship of Ellie and Joel created. What's worse is then to rub salt in the wound make you make us play as the person who did it for a large portion of the game!!!! I mean you let her live!This has killed my my love for the last of us and hope it gets any more bad reviews.     Graphically and in terms of mechanics is a brilliant game. It delivers an astonishing experience through its environment. The story start in a depressing way which might make you want to drop your controller. But ones you keep playing the game , the story starts to build up in such an amazing way.     The story takes you into a complex journey and emotional ride which will make you ask moral question whether something is good and bad. The story goes back and forth, showing you the unseen relationship between ellie and joel and the relationship between abby and her father; putting you on both perspective. The perspective of abby makes you see through her pain and why she took that revengeful path. This story gives you answer you didn't receive in the first one. Like did Ellie believe in Joel, did Joel regret doing what he did and so much more.

    The ending of this game does not serve as an ending, nor does it feel like it, it feels like a continuation of more stories that should be told. For me, this game is a masterpiece that could have deliver the story differently to please a wider audience, instead takes a more gruesome and realistic approach that leaves both a satisfying gaming experience and also a sweet and sour taste that will last for years to come;
    I rate this a 10, because of the overall experience , together with its masterful graphics and memorable moments.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I have to say that most of the outrage aimed at The Last of Us 2, is just social outrage. People angry because Joel gets killed, and they make you play as a lesbian and there are lgbt characters in the game. I’m normally in agreement with that camp. I detest identity politics, and feel that sometimes it borders on authoritarianism. However, this game does nothing with these characters that you could call preachy. They simply exist in the story, there is subtext, but nothing is explicitly stated to try and sway your opinions either way. So it seems people just don’t want those characters to exist in the medium at all. So the criticism that it’s sjw propaganda doesn’t hold much water for me. On to my second point, I hated the first games ending, I hated Joel as a character for making such a selfish decision, based on being unable to live with the trauma of losing his daughter. I hated the way it ended, and I loathed the slow, clunky gameplay, but the reason the last of us 2 seems to work so well, is because of my disdain for Joel’s decisions in part 1. The game is about brutal revenge, and the pointlessness of seeking an eye for an eye. It also deals with the repercussions of Joel’s lie, and the fragility of their relationship built on this lie that Joel “saved” Ellie. I found the writing to be very good, and the scenes involving the original duo, still serve to make you feel for Joel, but while you can sympathize with him, and understand his motivations for what he did. It was still a lie, and it was ultimately what led Ellie onto a path of utter annihilation. I think that the gameplay has been cleaned up enough to fix my issues with the first game, and the story serves to resolve a lot of the anger I had at Joel in the end of Part 1. If you can handle LGBT people existing in a video game, as they do in real life, then I think you should play the game, I think your perspective of the story and characters, will be wildly different based on how you felt about the ending of part 1. You may hate part 2 because Joel is gone, but it may leave you with some appreciation for a game and story that doesn’t just seek to provide fan service for people who only took away positivity, and warm and fuzzies for the lie that was Joel and Ellie’s relationship.… Expand

    A brilliant game. Follows the trend of “the sequel is darker” for what was already a pretty dark game. Not for everyone as it isn’t exactly filled with optimism but I thought it was a great continuation for one of the best games ever released.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. After completing the game, i must say this game is in no way a perfect game, a 10/10, it also isn’t a 0/10, I give this game a 6/10 and here is how I see it:

    Graphics 10/10: this game gorgeous, nothing more to say

    Story: 6/10: this is one of the main problems for me, the story is good, but is not unique like in TLOUS 1, (in than game it was Ellie’s story, no one else could become the cure but her). On part two they made a 25+ hour story about revenge. Now revenge stories can be really good if done right, but on this game it just feels like something is missing, it feels hollow.

    Again, comparing it to its predecessor, TLOUS 1 gave us a story than was a lot richer and in half the time. After finishing the first game, the story left me thinking about what i would have done in that situation, even though the game didn’t give you a choice i felt the weight of the decision and keep me thinking about it after finishing it. On TLOUS part 2, after finishing it 25+ hours, it felt like any other game. Thinking it over, imagine if ND gave us a choice, at the end, after showing us the two sides of the story, we as the player get to decide to (TO DO or NOT TO DO).

    Gameplay 6/10: Yes, The Last of Us Part 2 improves on the gameplay of its predecessor but that’s not saying much, since it feels very limited and dull as the time progresses. It feels like the gameplay could have been a lot more, or maybe the game could have used other sections like more puzzles or mini-games to change the pace.    … Expand

The graphics were great, the gameplay was fun, there were some gripping action sequences which was good, but that is not what draws me to the last of us. What draws me into this game is the characters and the story, which on those fronts were abhorrent to me. Terrible decisions made, out of character moments, and weak narrative. Not to mention the 0 percent payoff in the ending. Also did Ellie go to hang herself in the end credits? Whatever not like it matters after this game. Again, graphics, enviornment, and action was good. But the foundation of this franchise is the story, which is weak. With a weak foundation all the other stuff on top just falls apart for me. 4/10 is a generous score imo. Dissapointing.… Expand

    I waited for a long time but it was very sad when i heard all of my friend told me it very bad. They all bought it and they broke disc after play. Sorry, but when i heard the story of TLOSII. I will never play it. I dont want my heart is hurt. With me, TLOS is end. TLOSII is never appear. That’s the last thing i want to keep.

The story is amazing too, although it might not appeal to everybody, but for me it really touched me!!! I honestly would not change anything in this game!! Cudos to Naughty Dog!! La banda Sonora deja que desear a pesar de que la guitarra es totalmente una locura y realmente te hace sentir como es tocar una guitarra, pero en el primero juego te acompaña durante todo el trayecto y se nota, mucho. Acá, no tanto.
    El tema más complicado y más obvio es que es duro que un personaje tan querido como lo es Joel se nos vaya así, o mejor dicho lo saquen así, es decir tan crudo. El juego no te da tiempo para llorar su pérdida para que te sientas con la necesidad de venganza. Avanzando y viendo el juego ves unos flashbacks que cierran un arco y un personaje de una manera sólida y en algunos casos devolviendo al jugador o espectador una posibilidad de desahogar sus sentimientos y el poder llorar como es apropiado su muerte. Al encarnar a Abby entendemos su punto y en algunos casos podes llegar a empatizar ya que conoces sus propósitos pero, realmente el final te deja a solo un botón de cumplir lo que queremos . El juego te hace sentir dentro, la trama, los personajes, la ambientación es increible pero realmente era muy dificil dejar a tu decisión la muerte de quien mato a uno de los personajes más queridos de TODA la saga PlayStation? Algunos empatizaron mucho con Abby, okey, no la mates si querés, pero otra gente (incluidos la mayoría) no lo hicimos, entonces el juego no te brinda la manera de desahogo, A PESAR de que el personaje de Abby me parece muy bien escrito, con objetivos muy claros y bien desarrollado, pero nada.     Heartbroken by it all but what a game. So many people hating on the story direction but overall I think the gameplay, graphics and world that has been built is incredible. I’m devastated by the story but equally loved it. Horrifically bittersweet and never thought I would sob at a computer game and yet multiple times I sobbed. Was like playing characters in a huge budget movie

    Why all the hate? played the first, dont mind the direction they took with part 2. Gameplay is great, story is good with a couple hick ups here and there, sound design is amazing, characters could be a little better.

    This is the very first time i feel compelled to write my opinion about a game because i feel that this unusual wave of bad reviews is an unfair attack to a good game for reasons that doesn't have anything to do with its quality.
    This is not a fairy tale is the interconnected story of people in a devastated world and is a very accurate picture of the human nature.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. El juego es simplemente brutal en cuanto a gráficos y gameplay, es una maravilla el como se ve todo pero he notado que el problema que tienen todos es que "la historia es mala" a ver...

    El juego nos cuenta lo que sucede varios años después de los acontecimientos del primero, es normal que todo sea distinto, tanto Joel como Ellie han pasado por más cosas algunas importantes y algunas no, hay que recordar eso, no son los mismos personajes que conocimos en el primero juego pero aún así es bueno ver al primer juego presente en este.

    "aha entendemos eso pero es que esto es propaganda LGBT" Pues no... este juego no es propaganda LGBT en ningún momento vemos que este 100% enfocado en decir "MIRENME SOY LESVIANA", es un juego completamente normal, el echo de que Ellie sea lesbiana no quiere decir que sea propaganda pues es algo que pudimos apreciar desde la anterior entrega y tampoco es que lo mencionen cada tres segundos, lo mencionan lo suficiente, son adolecentes hablando con adolecentes, es un tema completamente normal, piensen en que ahora tienen una vida más tranquila y no tendrían por que estar hablando todo el tiempo del virus, para ellos ya es algo de todos los días y viven sus días con "normalidad". Además que tiene de malo o raro? existen muchas personas de esa comunidad, no deberia ser raro que en los juegos también aparezcan, debería ser tan normal como si fuese heterosexual, simplemente son datos del personaje extra, la historia no va sobre si es o no es.

    "Bueno pero a que fue una mierda cuando te pusieron a Abby a la fuerza, era un coñazo y puro relleno" te me vas relajando amigo, esto es una historia completa, ¿que historia esta completa si deja tantos huecos? si no jugaramos la parte de Abby esto sería un juego del rincón pues sería el típico objetivo villano que solo sabes que debes matar por que es "malo", no conoceríamos al personaje de ninguna forma y tampoco entenderiamos sus motivos más allá de "ah, era una luciérnaga, tal vez solo se volvió sádica" bruh, abby buscó el mismo tipo de venganza que Ellie, enserio son tan diferentes? solo buscan cuidar a los suyos y claro algo de venganza. Lo admito, Abby no es un personaje con quien yo personalmente simpatice... pero su parte en el juego es sumamente importante y aunque a mi no me agrade ella, pude jugar todo y no aburrirme ni desinteresarme por que no te lo meten ahuevo es algo necesario para entender varias cosas como los soldados en el hospital antes de ver a nora "Issac esta buscando a Abby" sin su parte esa frase no tendría mucho sentido además de "ah pues hizo algo malo". El final... el final es simplemente bueno aunque entiendo por que muchos lo odian o consideran malo, no es lo que querían ni esperaban pero así es la vida, no siempre obtienes lo que quieres y menos cuando el personaje no piensa como tu, Ellie decidió no matarla por que fuese cobarde si no, (desde mi punto de vista) decidió no matarla por sus memorias de joel, exactamente, el motivo de todo... Joel no hubiese querido que ellie viviese con esa carga en sus hombros toda su vida, no hubiese querido que ella se arriesgara, Joel siempre quiso lo mejor para Ellie y eso hay que entenderlo... además se pusieron a pensar que pasaría si ellie si hubiese matado a Abby? habría tenido que asesinar a lev tambien o el ciclo habría iniciado de nuevo... simplemente considero perfecto el como Ellie rompe el circulo en el que estaba atrapada de una vez por todas, todos querían venganza, todos querian a joel vivo pero... este juego es muy natural y real, nadie es inmortal...    … Expand

    hay varias cosas que cambiaría como una escena que ocurre en las primeras horas, una escena de sexo innecesaria y el final no entiendo porque fue asi, y cuando manejamos a Abby creo que deberia de haber sido por menos tiempo

    Never has a game made me cry so much. A incredibly powerful experience.
    I really didn’t think a sequel was necessary but it justified itself 100x in my opinion. Hoping a grounded mode gets added soon.

    It is the best game ever in my opinion. I liked that Naughty Dog took the risk to make a story as they wanted and did not fall for the fan service. I liked the stark story they decided to go for, and I hope It has some Dlc.

    What made Last of Us part 1 a masterpiece was the journey taken by Joel and Ellie. The game feels complete with their journey ending after the Joel says “ I swear”.

    Here, the journey is worthless. Ellie goes on a killing spree trying to get to the person who did wrong to her. At the end of this killing spree, she did find her(Abby) and let her go…. What in the actual **** is that ???

    Is Ellie feeling remorse and finding redemption? **** no, that’s NOT the Ellie we loved in part 1.
    This nullifies the journey.
    I am going to forget that Part 2 existed in Last of Us world.

    For me, after part 1, Joel and Ellie happily lived and died in the Jackson, possibly by a clicker :) , even that would have made better emotional story.    … Expand

    Best game ive played this generation. No doubt. Its a true masterpiece in storytelling and game design. It takes the characters from the first game and builds on tjen while introducing a brand new cast og characters which are equally as interesting.

    It takes many bold moves story wise which imo pays off in the end.

    To make such a abhorrent sequel to a near-perfect story brings tears to my eyes. LOU2’s story is not a labor of love; It didn’t take 7 years to make; and it makes no sense whatsoever compared to the first game. New characters we care nothing about are shoehorned into the narrative, while characters we know and love are ruined permanently. Such a miserable display.

I feel like the story itself is just trying to tell us the truth of our real life. But on the dark side. If you can't accept that, sorry, no one can help you with that.
    TLOU2 is still the best game for me, along with its perfections and imperfections.
