Though I must admit I wish Joel had much more of a heroic death, if it had to happen, and it wasn’t so near the beginning of the game. Initially I despised Abby for her actions and was even extremely annoyed that the player was forced to play as Abby for a very long portion of the game but towards the end I understood her actions and it was almost hard to paint her as a villain. I even held back at the end fight scene between Ellie and Abby because I didn’t want her to die! I can’t believe you made me grow to ALMOST like the woman that killed my Joel. Well played Naughty Dog, well played. I truly think you should go into this game uninfluenced by any posts you may have seen written about this game. I believe it is a masterpiece. Expand

Although Naughty Dog has gone for a somewhat different type of storytelling this time around, they’ve managed to once again make a masterpiece. The story is told through more than just dialogue between characters, with notes and other remains of the pre-outbreak world, and there is also much to learn about the post-outbreak world and the conflicts between different groups of survivors. I could go on for a while, but I’m writing this on my phone, and the website is not really working with me, , so to finish off this review I’m going to give Naughty Dog credit for their incredible attention to detail. Everything from graphics to physics in this game is amazing. The level designs of this game are also very good, allowing you to take different approaches to every fight. I really really like this game, and I think that it not only justifies the decision to make a second game, but it also gives the story a conclusion with meaning. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So here is an honest review from someone who has actually played the game. This game is a massive disappointment for five reasons.

1: It completely abandons the morally ambiguous theme of the first game. In the end of TLOU 1, Joel killed Fireflies for a completely selfish reason and doomed the lives of millions. There was no concept of good or bad in that game, Joel was not "good or bad" and whether you agreed with his decision came down to the player, blurring the line of what was right and wrong. Now in the sequel, Ellie AND Abby, who I'll talk about later, have the sense that they are right and what they did was "right" and they are completely morally justified in what they did and the player is supposed to agree and sympathize with both of them splitting the players decision. Either their both good, both bad or one is good and the other is bad. Abandoning such a massive concept that people loved the first game for is an embarrassment.

2: it devalues the lie that Joel told Ellie in the first game. In this game that topic has a total of two cut scenes in the game dedicated to it despite it being the whole reason people wanted a sequel. Not only is it not focused on but it is also not the centerpiece of the game which brings me to number 2

3: The game's centerpiece is revenge. This element is not focused on justly in any form of media in my opinion, and when it is, it is so predictable to guess what happens and in this game after Ellie massacre's hundreds of people, she decides the let the person who was responsible for Joel's death live making the whole journey throughout the game, including plot and character development, utterly pointless and the previous sentence stated brings me to reason 3

4: Abby, the antagonist responsible for Joel's death, has very little connection to the first game despite the fact that she is the centerpiece of this game which even further devalues reason one. Her reason for being in this game is that Joel killed her father, the surgeon Joel stabbed in The Last of Us. Now wanting revenge for your father is a valid reason for being in a game, but when your father is a faceless, meaningless character in the overall plot of the first game, it makes the character that wants revenge even more meaningless. It's even more pointless since Ellie doesn't even kill Abby...in a revenge based plot...let that sink in...

5: So Ellie has found out the truth about the Fireflies and she's hunted Abby down and didn't do anything. So as an audience you'd think that'd be the end right. Wrong, because us as an audience never found closure. After this 20 hour game, that wastes our time on a revenge plot so pointless and uninteresting the vaccine still never gets made. We never get out "the end". Our period at the end of the sentence. At the end, we even find out that some Fireflies are still alive. You know what that means? That's right, we get sequel baited!! Isn't that great?....

It's really pushing it calling this game, The Last of Us 2, when the main element from the first game is not focused on, when the antagonist is not connected to the main element of the first game making me getting interested in her void and pointless and only leads me to hating her more so when she has an entire 50% of the game dedicated to her since you play as her in the second half, and the main character of The Last of Us 1 dies in the first 2 hours of playtime, and when the centerpiece that was expected is replaced with a predictable, easy to guess plot, with practically no surprises. This game holds no emotional weight that was present in the first game and when it does hold emotional weight it isn't related to the first game, or I am desensitized into even caring since the only two cases where there is emotional weight is: one of the only characters I care about dies before he gets any meaningful screen time or the emotional presence is related to a new character that I don't care about because I haven't had time to get to know them and their character arcs are either bleak or not present. This game is not a sequel, and to anyone who says,"But it has good game-play/graphics". That is completely irrelevant since this is a story based game, and if the story sucks, it makes the entire game meaningless in terms of its reason for even existing in the first place.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game felt like a lifeless cash grab off the back of tlou 1, not only does the injected social justice feel forced but the storyline feels lazily written, rushed and out of order, not to mention the game forces you to play as the antagonist for half of the game and expects you to sympathize with ‘her’ through pathetic attempts to show ‘she’ is a decent human being when in actuality ‘she’ felt lifeless to play as and I couldn’t help but feel to put the controller down and stop playing. The ending to the game was was also a disappointment and overall just confusing as Ellie decides to let Abby go but mercilessly kills innocent people throughout the game to get to that point, I'm not sure if this was meant to show character development but it didn't come off as realistic or believable at all. Some of the plot makes no sense to me and felt like paper over the cracks during moments such as when Mel was assigned duty despite being heavily pregnant but was still involved with battles and somehow climbing ropes. There was a total lack of character development and the game did not give the player a chance to even grow close to any of the characters and to be honest not many of them were even likable. This game was not only ruined by the SJW, forced progressive hammer but lacked serious plot development and in all felt disappointing and a waste of a good opportunity, i feel bad for the teams of the game that weren’t involved with the plot as the game itself is stunning and the environments were fun to explore.
I'm glad the user reviews are highlighting this game's huge flaws and if anything shows that critic reviews are worthless as they only seem to rate the identity politics of the game, and not the game itself.

I don't like how Joel died, I don't like that we had to play as Abby for as long as we did, I did not care for Abby, I hate that we did not get to get revenge at the end. Ellie went out for revenge and for what? To let Abby go and to lose her girl and adopted child? Joel dying wasn't the issue, it was how he died. Sure you could make an argument that Joel has softened in his older age but the Joel from the first part wouldn't have trusted those strangers so easily.

They could have told the same story and honoured the first game better than they did. At one point I was like "There's no way they're going to make me also kill Ellie as Abby!?".

To summarise, I'm happy to have played as Ellie one more time, I just feel like it was not executed the best. The game is beautiful nevertheless but storytelling wise, it could have been better.

This game is riding on the fame of it’s predecessor and fails to deliver on many aspects. It’s atmosphere is spot on, and the graphics are state of the art (especially on the old PS4), but the writing/story is a train wreck.

I can’t say much because I don’t like spoiling but whoever wrote this game doesn’t understand some basic story writing aspects that all the great writers for books/movies always follow. There isn’t an arc, a point of maturity, it’s a hollow husk that borrows the name of the previous game only in letters.

Shame because this could have been a good game. I’ve sold my copy and warned my friends.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I get why this game is getting hate. I don’t think it is deserved (except for the parts where you play as Abby). I personally liked the game, the thing that felt off was the tonal shift. It happened so suddenly that it caught me off guard. One second you are a agile badass killing clickers left and right, then the next you are a refrigerator playing fetch with a dog. The ending wasn’t something that I expected to be so hollow. I was left with an unfulfilled feeling in the pit of my stomach. It felt like my 20+ hours of gameplay amounted to nothing, but after a while it made since( even though it was pretty stupid). My take on the ending was that Ellie wanted to end the cycle of violence by not killing Abby(which was stupid). Anyways Ellie ended the violence by mowing down hordes of people only to not kill the person who killed her father figure and her best friend. The person who stripped Ellie of almost everything/one she had know. Even upon Ellie’s return to her home, she is stripped of her family and 2 fingers. All in all the revenge Plot didn’t really work for a game like the last of us. I applaud Neil and his team at Naughty dog for creating a unique experience in tlou2 but it is impossible to follow up a masterpiece. I still loved playing this game I just think that they needed someone on staff to think of pacing and placing, because it was a bit of a mess. Expand

I absolutely love this game, and yes I am a huge fan of the original. Be aware that I will be discussing vague spoilers that pertain to the end of this game.
This game's story is far too complex to unpack in one review, but at its core this game is about learning to let go of the pain of the past. Its about learning to not just forgive others, but to forgive yourself. Many people are simplifying the narrative down to "revenge is bad," but really, what I think the game is asking is "is revenge worth it?" What do we truly gain from harming the person who harmed us? What catharsis is there in perpetuating the hate that caused you this deep rooted pain in the first place? Ellie as a character has never been driven by hate. Her arc in the first game was defined by hope, the hope that the pain and suffering we endure in life means something. The harsh reality that the sequel presents is that there is no reason for our suffering, and that life has no meaning beyond the meaning you make for yourself. In the final moments of the game, we see Ellie finally return to that empathy and hope that has always been in her heart, we see her finally let go of all the pain and anguish that Joel left her with. Abby most definitely added to that pain and anguish, but really her quest to kill Abby was intertwined with her inability to forgive Joel, her inability to escape the guilt of knowing so many died just so she could live, and not feeling worthy of such a thing.
At this point I'm just rambling, but I urge each and every person who hates this game to give it another chance. Underneath the shock and horror of what this game puts you through is a truly beautiful story that examines the human condition in a way seldom seen in storytelling, let alone in video games. I love this game and I hope that with time, the gaming community sees the value in this story.

First let me tell you what is undeniable good in the game. Then we can discuss the "bad" part. Graphics: It is really stunning, the lighting, textures, effects. You wont believe is still a PS4 game and pc master race boy is telling you.

Details: The detail on this game is gargantuan, Unreal. From every póster, every note, objects. You are not longer in a video game room pretending to be a real life place, you are in a real place inside a video game. Every place can tell you a story, each corner shows you how it became stuck in Time, but nature keep moving onward. I found myself looking at every detail in every room and place. Ambientation: You go from breathtaking landscapes to nightmare fuel places, which they were once common crowded places now you have to explore abandoned in the dark. You can feel fear and danger on every step. No apocalyptic world feel so real like this game. Gameplay : Its brutal, dynamic and organic. Every move and Action your characters do has weight and reacts to her surroundings. I never felt safe or powerful, but always with the necesary tools to survive. Acting : yes Acting, since the characters has voice, facial expressions and body languaje, along with prime dialogue writing, sometimes you can forget that they are virtual characters. Now im going to talk about the controversial part. Story. So Minor Spoilers ahead and really helpfull clarifications.

First, there is no LGBTTIQ agenda. Yes Ellie is lesbian and Lev is transgender, not transexual. But these are character traits, a part of their whole and not a big label.
You are more into Ellie artístic and geek part, and Lev wisdom and courage and his grow Out of the Shell.

Second. If you want to play with the charming anti hero that kills every thing without remorse, this is not your game. Joel is no a playable character and the main characters are real people with flaws, but the will to survive. Third and most important. These characters motivations are not clear as water and Their decitions will not be the same as yours, dont try to be rational, they are human beings in a apocalyptic World trying to do what is right or feel right to them.

That said, if you are mature enough to go along with a simple plot full of the best and the worst human feels, the misery of human nature and the consequences of your actions. Then the game is for you. The ending and the story as a whole will feel like your heart is ripped Out, then crushed and craved in again by your guts. If a game can make you feel that, then is more than a game.

Sure, often the excitement doesn't match reality, but I would have never thought to see such a bad game after the remarkable predecessor.

First of all the few positive aspects about TLOU2:

    +Stunning graphics 10/10

+Solid gameplay 7/10 (while the gameplay is not particular great or groundbreaking, solid gameplay is definitely a good thing to have in a story-driven game)

    +Overall fantastic audio-visual presentation

Unfortunately a game like TLOU lives and dies by its story and not by its graphics or gameplay:

    -Dumb and miserable story

    -Unlikeable characters

-An ending that makes the (already bad) story completely pointless

A well-written story set in an apocalyptic setting should have both highs and lows, because the highs make the lows feel more powerful and vice versa.
The story of TLOU has both love and hate, happiness and sadness, good and evil, fun moments and serious moments, absolute hope and utter despair, the story of TLOU2
only has the latter stirred up with a pointless ending that leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

As a standalone game, TLOU 2 would have simply been a poorly written game, as a sequel to the beloved TLOU this is a punch to the gut for all the fans though.

4/10 is the most objective score I can give this game, from a more subjective perspective it feels more like a 1/10.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I have been waiting for this game for a very long time, 7 years have passed since the release of the first part of this game. I am extremely dissatisfied with jsw in this game and I hope that in future projects of developers there will no longer be obsessive propaganda of feminism and LGBT, which does not develop the main characters, in particular, Ellie. I am also extremely dissatisfied with the story arc for Abby, which destroys everything that we all love the first part for - the relationship of Joel and Ellie. But the second half of this game literally almost forgets about the relationship between Joel and Eli, and their place is trying to present us with the relationships of Ally and Dina, who are of little interest to the players. And this is the tip of the iceberg of discontent - I did not mention the death of Joel, the physique of Abby, reminiscent of Armstrong, and so on. But anyway, I love this franchise and only put it out of 10. 10. But if this happens again in the future, the developers, be sure, the players will not forgive you for this Expand

    In the big picture:
    This game is **** depressing.

    Pros:
    - Better gameplay mechanics
    - Better Grapichs
    - World building
    - Music

    ---Ellie Stuff---
    - Car chase scene with Jesse and Ellie
    - Chasing nora through spores.
    - Seraphite patrol and infiltration
    - Exploring Seatle with Dina
    - Every single Joel and Ellie flashback
    - Last stretch with Ellie in California Santa barbara

    ---Abby Stuff---
    - Entire story arc with Abby and the scars
    - Abby bossfight with mutated infected
    - Running through Haven with horse
    - Runnning away from infected.
    - Forest escape

    Cons:
    - Joel is stupid apparantly in this game
    - Joel dies
    - Joel has like 15 minutes of screentime

    - The story is Ellie going for revenge and kills all the friends of Abby
but then doesnt kill the one person she needs to kill because she gets a flashback of Joel.

    - Poorly executed story
    - Pacing of the story.

    - It tries too hard to force the player to feel for Abby
It succeeds in a way but again in my opinion it feels poorly executed.

    - Abby flashbacks were not intresting.
(Only one that matters are the first one where you see her with her dad
+ her seeing her dad dead by the acts of Joel)

    ---Mixed---
    - Ellie lost everything. I dont know what to feel about this
    - Dont know what to feel about Abby as a part 3 runner. (makes sense if they go for a cure plot again)
    - Dont know how to feel about them killing of Joel in a way that is super disrespectful.
    - Ellie gives everything up but then saves Abby and Lev, therefor letting Ellie do one good thing at the end of it.

Conclussion: Im gonne play the game again with gamemode + and just re-expierence it but not instantly. Ill replay it eventually. This game is super mixed for me. I dont like the pacing of the story but the main message is there and is told in a way that is ok but I still think its poorly executed and should have been better. The cycle of revenge and how violence is never the answer is the message. Part 3 is probably going to happen with Abby and Lev making it to the fireflies. And the only logical thing I could see happen in part 3 is Abby and Lev talking to the fireflies about Ellie and the cure and searching her to get the cure done. Ending the game with humanity restored. Or they leave it like it is now. With Ellie losing everything in her life. But for me part 2 was one of the most depressing games ive ever played.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Last of Us 2 is an ambiguous game with a heavy and complex story. About revenge and the price that need to pay for her. About the fact that the dark road of revenge leads only to emptiness.

The plot shows Ellie's moral fall. She thinks the end justifies the means. Abby, in turn, had already committed revenge. In the course of the story, she becomes better as a person.
    Impressions:
    graphics — 10;
    sound — 10;
    gameplay — 8;
    characters — 7;
    story — 7.
    Average — 8.4 / 10.
You can remove 1 point for SJW, there is something like this in the game, and it catches your eye a little, although it does not interfere with either the gameplay or the story.
I'm partly unhappy with the beginning of the story. The essence of the claim is that at the beginning of the game we are not told who the new characters are and why they are taking revenge. Therefore, many players cannot understand why Joel deserved this. I think it was worth explaining right away. Such a move leads to hatred of new characters, unwillingness to understand them. Many did not even want to play for Abby.
In the game as a whole, you need to delve into what is happening and notice the details. If you do this, it becomes clear that the story is not bad.

The ending is also not bad. It is worth remembering that Abby spared Ellie twice. But the final decision of the main character was influenced by something completely different. Ellie recalls the moment with Joel, how after the party she went to him to discuss the incident. Next, occurs a very important conversation for their relationship. Ellie says that she probably will not be able to forgive him for saving her life, and not for saving humanity. After a moment, the heroine adds that she will try to forgive. Joel looks at Ally and thanks her with hope.
The essence of the moment is that Ally, deep down, did not want revenge, but wanted to return Joel. She regrets because she could not forgive him before it was too late. At this moment, Ellie understands — nothing can be returned, the price paid for revenge is too high and at the moment everything is pointless. At the end of the path traveled there was only a emptiness ...

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. If you voted 0 to 5, didn't play the game because of the user score, or are disappointed with it, PLEASE read, i beg you.

Let's just briefely talk about the gameplay, then we'll skip to the story:
the combat is quite simple yet fun, with impeccable animations and interactions that make it very satisfying. The pacing is pretty much perfect, alternating combat, to exploration, to cutscenes, to a bit of platforming and puzzles; during all these sections the characters are constantly discussing (even the "bad guys"), and they are so well written that they feel like they're real people. Nothing to say about the technical aspects, best in class, crazy attention to detail and animations, i'd say they're unmatched (i didn't like the jumping animations and some of the dodges tho).

I strongly belive that part 2 is far superior in every aspect, story and narration included, when compared to part 1. I get that yall are upset that they killed Joel, i was too, but i didn't immediately discarded the story as garbage because he died and came here to leave a 0 out of 10 review driven by rage, i trusted Neil and the team, if they made me care for the characters in the first part, they could do it again with other characters, even with the "villain", if Joel dies it's not the end of the world.

I'm seeing people say that they are disappointed not because he died, but because he died in a stupid way, letting his guard down, something that he would never do. Now, he did let his guard down in the first game too when meeting new people, even if he had no reason to trust them (like Harry and Sam), but in this case he really had no choice to follow "the bad guys" inside the house, they were running away from a horde and there was a snowstorm outside. Also, they didn't have any reason not to trust them either, they had just saved Abby, so that was no reason for her to hurt them.
I've seen people argue that Joel knew that the fireflies were looking for him so he shouldn't have told them his name, but thats just false, Joel knew that the fireflies were disbanded an that's it.

The second big complaint is the ending: i know that what i'm about to say sounds pretentious, but please, PLEASE, hear me out with an open mind, you... probably did not understand the ending; the message is not "revenge bad", when you oversimplify this much, anything sounds stupid, even the gratest movie or book. When Abby spares Ellie and Dina in the theater, Ellie stops wanting revenge because she realizes that in order to get it she was gonna lose what she had left (Jesse killed, Tommy and Dina Wounded), at this poin she still kinda wants to kill Abby, but she realizes that it's probably not worth it. So her and Dina go to live peacefully in a farm, which was kind of a dream of theirs. But Ellie is still tormented and can't sleep, at this point she already doesn't want revenge anymore, what pushes her to go and try to kill Abby once again is her desire to "live again", to free herself from this burden, it's not a matter of making Abby suffer anymore, it's a matter of ending her own suffering.
When she finally gets to Abby in Santa Barbara, she sees herself and Joel reflected in Lev and Abby, she hesitates for a moment but then she decides to fight, when she is about to kill her, she sees Joel, not the Joel covered in blood that she has been seeing all this time, but a peaceful Joel, sitting on the porch playing the guitar: this means that even tho she lost everything, in that moment she got her humaneness back, which means that she can now go back to living, she can move on, and she lets Abby join "her own Ellie", Lev, and lets them get away.

I hope i did a good job at explaining what i think, as english is not my first lenguage, anyway my words aren't enough to describe all the emotions, so i implore you, play the game again (or get it if you didn't want to because of all the negative user reviews), but this time let it grow on you, try not to flag it as garbage from the start, let the emotions flow and let the events hit you as they should, do NOT be blinded by rage. If you watch a horror movie with the intention of not being scared, you are not gonna get scared, if you play TLOU2 with the intention of not feeling anything, you are not gonna feel anything.

One last thing, for the first hour or so that i played as Abby, i hated it too. Just look at her like you used to look at Joel, as they are one and the same.

Edit: after not even 10 seconds "0 people out of 2 found this review helpful", this is just hilarious, 2 people voted as not helpful and didn't even read it, guided by rage. Imagine asking a for a story to make sense (which btw it already does) while acting irrationally, great job everyone.

Many reviews suggest that The Last of Us Part II (LOUP2) forgets the relationship between Joel and Ellie and goes on a tangent in an attempt to be "artsy" or "deep". What people do not seem to realize is that even Part I had an overarching theme of morals and philosophy - through Joel and Ellie’s relationship, our two beloved characters. LOUP2 expanded upon this theme, with the addition of the ‘cycle of violence’, through the introduction of more characters. This, in some instances, did depict Joel, Ellie, and Tommy as antagonistic. With that said, I thought this was brilliantly portrayed by showing the same three days in Seattle from Abby and Ellie's perspective. When I see and hear people saying that it was "unbearable" to play as Abby, not only is it absurd but also thoughtless. Joel had killed a lot of people in the first game, and it would be foolish to assume that there weren’t going to be any repercussions of these actions. His role as the protagonist doesn’t, in any way, justify his wrongdoings.

Abby's story has been incredibly crafted. All of the WLF soldiers that went to Jackson City wanted revenge, but no one, including Abby, was expecting such brutality and aggression from herself. These actions of fury, however, were completely justified. The anger and rage that built up in Abby for 4 years, was released over those few minutes with the golf club and a cornered Joel. I was especially allured to one of Abby’s dreams in which she sees Yara and Lev, two kids who saved her life, hanging in Saint Mary’s hospital. The dream makes her feel uneasy and as though something was amiss, particularly in regards to Joel's death. So when she wakes up, she goes out of her way to help Yara and Lev in an attempt to balance her past damages.

The battle between the Seraphites and WLF continued the theme of the ‘cycle of violence’. I was especially enamoured by the player encountering collectible letters of several victims from the Seraphites and the WLF. We see the stories of people from both the WLF and Seraphites who are trying to protect their families and/or bring back food. However, they fall prey to the ‘cycle of violence’. We, as the player, sympathize with both sides of the war, making us question, “what is it all for?”. As Abby interacts with the two Seraphites Lev and Yara she comes to the same realization. That is why when she gets the opportunity, although filled with rage and ferocity, she rethinks her decision of killing Ellie concluding that no one would benefit.

A common complaint people seem to have is that Ellie should have killed Abby, which would have been a superficial ending to this game. Ellie has already, in an act of vengeance, killed a pregnant Mel and is left feeling traumatized by this event. Nonetheless, there would have been zero progression for Ellie's character if she had killed Abby. Furthermore, in the final moments when Ellie is drowning Abby, the scene cuts to the time she agrees to try and forgive Joel for what he did at the end of the first game. Her sparing Abby is her way of ending the ‘cycle of violence’; she was correcting Joel's mistake of starting the cycle.

People often argue, “Why didn’t Joel question Abby’s intentions?” and “why did he trust her?”. The flashbacks in this game are incredible and answer these questions. Each flashback showed progression in Joel's character - his evolution from the first game was evident - as he was beginning to trust others. Violence wasn’t the only solution. He was relaxed and, despite all the losses he faced, seemed happy. This is why, as a matured character, he assumes the good in Abby and decides to help her get away from the infected.

Nevertheless, I did think there were some pacing issues with the game. Both the "Seattle day 1" were monotonous and slightly repetitive. I also thought that the Santa Barbara chapter was elongated in the beginning. I would have appreciated more stealth kill animations - the same animation of Ellie stabbing with her knife became redundant. I also believe that Lev/Lily becoming an outcast due to her gender/sexuality was an engaging plot point. However, they had already hit the mark with inclusivity and representation with Ellie and Dina. Although I didn't find this to be a problem story-wise, Naughty Dog could have avoided the wrath of the internet by figuring another reason for her to be an outcast.

The addition of being able to squeeze through tight areas and the skill to go prone was innovative and made combat extremely enjoyable. Naughty Dog also took the time to make artificial intelligence smarter - giving all enemies and soldiers names was a small but important detail that further grounded the story.

Gustavo Santaolalla and Mac Quayle, the music directors, have created one of the best soundtracks to a game. Action sequences and emotional moments were beautifully backed with the music produced by these legends.

The first chapter was, in my opinion, the best playstation game of the decade and one of the best gaming experience ever. With The Last of Us 2, Naughty Dog improved every aspect of the game from the storytelling to the gameplay and graphics. Absolutely amazing.

It’s survival at its best, when ethics are left aside because it’s your life at risk and the people you love, while you have to make hard decisions, it also works as a way of explaining how bad society works and how incredible human we are. The Last Of Us Part 2 developed by Naughty Dog did not disappoint.

The story is bold. It makes you ask the question, how well do you really know someone. The gameplay is immersive. Every building clearing is tense, making you check every corner for safety. The infected’s cries, screams, and act of fighting for control is horrifying. The people are actually people, good and evil isn’t

The gameplay is immersive. Every building clearing is tense, making you check every corner for safety. The infected’s cries, screams, and act of fighting for control is horrifying. The people are actually people, good and evil isn’t black and white. Every person slain by your own hand has you questioning your own morality as you read the last note written by them.

The visuals are breathtaking. Personally the best visuals I’ve seen on PlayStation.

The amount of detail in the game is outstanding. I can imagine how the events unfolded in 2013 during outbreak day, making it even more immersive.

I recommend this game to anyone that has played the first Last Of Us.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game turned to trash. Story line is stupid when the girl Joel saves turns to kill him. Like he saved her life. Like oh this guy who killed my father isn’t that much of a monster since he could’ve left me to die. No I’m gonna keep messing up my life and everyone else’s. Abby is pure cancer. I hope whoever was involved in making her gets hit by a truck. Trash. Naughty Dog you let us all down. Stop. Don’t make anymore games. You’re just gonna keep letting us down. Expand

The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.

If you loved the original for its great characters and well-paced story – stay away from this game. However, if you’re aching to sink into the depths of depression, or just want to cut some throats and burn some zombies – Part II will deliver. [Issue#247, p.72]
