    My resume after 5 hours of play: Lame history, bad gameplay, gorgeous exteriors, awful interiors.

    The game feels severily dated in the gameplay. the skirmishes were heavily scripted, and the 'game' is 50% dated gameplay and 50% cinematics and walking around.

    The first part of the title was a WAY BETTER game than this second part. skip if you can, or wait for a heavy discount.

    Let me start with this statement to get it out of the way. I’m a huge fan of Naughty Dog. Uncharted was amazing and it literally changed me, crash bandicoot was my jam for years, and TLOU1 was a game that made me cry.

    This game is riding on the fame of it’s predecessor and fails to deliver on many aspects.     I can’t say much because I don’t like spoiling but whoever wrote this game doesn’t understand some basic story writing aspects that all the great writers for books/movies always follow. There isn’t an arc, a point of maturity, it’s a hollow husk that borrows the name of the previous game only in letters.

    Shame because this could have been a good game. I’ve sold my copy and warned my friends.    … Expand

    Первая часть в принципе не нуждалась в продолжении, это была отличная закрытая история, оставляющая размышления о своей морали на совести игрока. Правильно ли сделал Джоел или нет - каждый решал сам для себя. Даже без учёта обильной левой пропаганды, про которую и без меня уже много сказано, сюжет игры получился крайне посредственным, не имеет и толики глубины первой части. Персонажи не вызывают каких-либо эмоций и сочувствия, прописаны крайне слабо, кто умрёт, а кто останется жив вы поймёте сразу. При всём этом игра крайне затянута. Проработка фракций и их мотивация находится даже ниже уровня какого-нибудь Metro Exodus.

    Какого-либо графического прорыва, что был у первой части тут тоже нет. В геймплейном плане разбавили разве что собаками, а в остальном эта всё та же первая часть с её достоинствами и недостатками. Гайки всё так же волшебным образом материализуются в оптические прицелы, можно таскать на спине целый арсенал, но к каждому оружию можно носить по 5-10 патронов, ветки прокачки не вариативны, а некоторые и вовсе бесполезны. Стелс всё такой же бутылочный, а перестрелки нудные. Никакой работы над ошибками, увы, не произвели.

    Просто надругательство над первой частью и идеальный пример того, что некоторым произведениям сиквел не нужен, а то и вовсе противопоказан.    … Expand

Не смогли придумать нормальной завязки, потому выбрали ту, которая самосвалом проезжает по концовке первой части. Она ломает всё хорошее что было в оригинале и дает историю уровня би-муви, при этом невероятно претенциозный, но донельзя очевидный. Мстить плохо, ууу. Надо прощать, ууу. Зло умножает зло, ууу. Задумайся, игрок! Если тебя хотят убить, не нужно защищаться и убивать, потому что этим ты сделаешь больно кому-то! Для этого посыла создатели выкручивают на максимум количество бессмысленного насилия и оставляют его не где-то за кадром, как принято в более-менее приличных продуктах, а по максимуму суют игроку в лицо. Смотри, человека долго и упорно избивают, тебе нравится? Нравится? А ты не только любишь насилие, ты еще шовинист! Расист! Не терпишь ЛГБТ! Уххх, плохой! Но ты прости всех и всё придёт в порядок. Надеюсь что игра провалится в продажах и это будет достойным урокам тем, кто лепит столь явные идеалогические поделки. 1 балл только за хорошие флешбеки, напоминающие какую хорошую игру можно было бы сделать.… Expand

    This has been a big disappointment as a big fan of the first game. There are a lot of elements in the game that contradict what the series stands for. Also that weird romance scene is totally out of place and awkward.

    As a big fan of the first game I was really dissapointed with the lazy writing of the Part 2. They managed to write Joel to behave nothing like the original character. He was always playing safe and always keeping the distance to people, because he knew people would come after him and Ellie. That alone breaks my heart as a fan of the original story.

    Ripley from Alien and Sarah Connor from T2 are one of the best action characters in movies. Including both genders. They were great because their stories were written so well. The story and the characters supported each other. This time the characters got in the way of the message that Naughty Dog wanted to tell. Very poor choices by script writers and directors especially that awful slam piece where the two guys ( one of them abby) engaged in sex, and Sony wants to censor DMC 5 and FF cause they portray woman as woman, shame on you. Playing as the antagonist, ND wants to be edgy and blur the lines but we all know Abby is the bad guy. And to go through all of that and then a flashback stops you from killing her is ridiculous, so you dont even get revenge.. that was such a big point/theme was revenge and it falls flat. Wont be supporting naughty dog again as they write material worse than fan fiction. On the black list you go with EA and Bethesda.

    Its also funny that most of the 10/10 user reviewers never rated anything else and echo what the weak critics reviews have said, they not handing out free review copys anymore people    … Expand

    1. TLOU 2 is simply boring and pretends to be deep but in reality the story feels half-baked.
    2. The gameplay isn't anything new, if you played the first one, you already played this one (int has some QoL improvements but nothing groundbreaking).
    3. On the "bright" side, the game does have nice graphics and made me feel intrigued in the kind of graphics we should expect from next gen.

    Shame on ND, they had everything to tell a great tale but writers decided to take the wrong direction with the story.    … Expand

    It really appears that he added a sex scene into the game just to add himself to it. There is no other explanation, the scene is disgusting, unnecessary, and comes completely out of the blue.
    The original characters behave nothing like they were in the first game.
    It's The Last Jedi of gaming, subverting expectations for the sake of subverting expectations. The writing is lazy, literally self agrandizing, story makes no sense and moves nowhere.    … Expand

A huge amount of hours were spent on multiplayer in part one, only to find out there is no multiplayer on this one. I looked it up, and the company said it had such great ideas for multiplayer, it was going to be a whole separate game. Sounds like a 60 dollarThis is nowhere near the caliber of game as the first.     The plot is a misunderstanding. Ellie's love thread is great, but everything else... Gameplay, on the other hand, is a repetition of what was. I waited 7 years and now I am trying to forget about this game.

    Yep, graphic and setting of world is good 8/10. But the game is gaddy. They have been droved everything in a narrative part. Naughty Dog wanted to show the story from different angles, but got a very chaotic and unrealistic scenario, that has little to do with realistic behavior.

Sound is good and Ellie uses a similar rope mechanic to Nat' in UC4 to move around the environment. Aiming is bad, but all ND games have so so weapon aiming, enemy A.I. is woefully unbalanced - you can either kill someone a few feet away from an enemy without being spotted, or anTechnically it's a big step up from the original game and refines the graphics of the engine used for UC4. Sound is good and Ellie uses a similar rope mechanic to Nat' in UC4 to move around the environment.     Voice acting is good and music is a continuation of the first game.
    But for a game that has been in development so long the changes made to game play are minimal - especially when you consider it's also a jump from Ps3 to Ps4....
    The story is just wave after wave of 'guilt killings' and angst ridden dialogue that is desperately trying to be radical and daring but is just a chore to listen too and watch - the washed out colours and the overall oppressive mood make you long for a moment that lifts the mood.
    Characters are not very likeable or relatable and after a while it's clear that ND are more interested in this as an interactive movie about social and sexual political views rather than an actual video game.
    I understand the desire to make it very cinematic as it is linking to a HBO tv show, but player input is mostly reduced to a viewer...
    The writing has made the amateur mistake of making the game characters fit into a narrative rather than the characters dictate the narrative, forcing a main character to be shockingly 'out of character' most of the time...
    It is also way too long and could have been trimmed down several hours and may have benefited for it.
    If you enjoy movie style games, like a smattering of limited stealth, and can endue a story that made me reach for anti depressants and a bottle of vodka then you will find something to enjoy....
    Me? I'm going back to playing DMC 5 and he flawed but fun RE3 to remember that video games are things you buy to enjoy.    … Expand

    Que paso acá desde la mitad del juego es muy bueno, pero después es injugable. tiene graves problema en contar la historia. se siente extraño y no empatizo con el personaje metido a la fuerza.

    Me quedo con el 1 y olvidaré este.

Gameplay is.. meh, same as first and i feel it more repetedive, because they try to make long game but remove a lot of environmental puzzles that i like from first part.     Me parece un final muy rancio, siento que todo lo que viví en el trayecto del juego se desmorona al final, entregando un desenlace bastante flojo, la venganza es un tema que puede tratarse de varias formas, incluso hay películas y videojuegos que lo han llevado mejor.

    One thing, that i did like story-wise was the relationship of Ellie and Dina. It felt natural and believable.I enjoyed that.But it all falls apart on this mess of a story

    Gameplay is awesome, but the story ruins it all.(After all it's a narrative story) Also, Sony false advertised JOEL in the trailers. JOEL appeared on many parts of the trailers pointing that there would be an adventure with the duo, but they fking replaced it with Jessee.Also the flashbacks of TLOU were altered to comply with this story.

    A mess of a game. How low did naughty dog fell.

    Worse that this **** game is the "critics". How dare they all give 100's on this mess?
    I wouldn't accept the rumor that sony pays for reviews, but in this case...it's more than evident.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. On a technical level, the game is extremely good. Graphics, atmosphere, soundtrack, and the voice actors are top-notch.
    Which makes the following even harder to write.
    The story is NOT. They tried very hard to make you feel bad at every step. From the ruining of beloved characters, both physically (Joel) and as a character assassination (Ellie), to simple things like the killing of dogs in a very graphical way. I get what they tried to do but failing to make the new characters relatable the whole story flops in a major way. Maybe the problem was that the actions of Joel at the end of the first game were already morally dubious and there was really no shock value. Maybe the problem was that the script team misunderstood the problem completely - we kill a lot of people in games this has no shock value at all for the player.
    The real problem there was - maybe I ruined the chances of humanity for a cure.
    Not that I killed a few nameless characters that tried to vivisect Ellie. Nobody really had a problem with that. So Abby starts on the wrong foot and never manages to recover.
    To summarise - you destroy the old characters, you fail to make new ones and you very very hard try to make the player feel bad about actions that he has no influence over - you don't have a choice NOT to kill all of those people.
    Now how is that 10 out of 10? The majority of the players will have trouble finishing this game and why would they.
    For me, this game represents a betrayal of all fans and betrayal of one of the best if not the best teams in the history of the industry. 7 years of work for them are wasted. Their image will never be the same.    … Expand

None of them are relatable or easy to care about, even Ellie and Joel are so detached from what they were I grew to hate them, even tho with Joel I barely got any time with him before plot brain kicked in and got him killed. This story is a spit on the legacy of the first, I remember getting the first one in 2013 and staying up to late to go to work the next day and instead of sleeping i kept playing and beat the game in 1 sitting, with Part 2 i took multiple breaks after rolling my eyes to many early story points and when they made me take over the awful character that killed a good character I lost all interest in pushing to the end. I will no long be supporting the company, if they are going to work their employees to the brink of death the least they could do is actually give a quality product. Game doesn't deserve a 0 because the few things it does well it does really well, and should be praised but I cannot recommend this game due to its blatant disregard for its predecessor.… Expand

    Just a waste of money. Maybe it would be worth it for 15 dollars for such a short, insulting, and barely intuitive game. The fools thought they had any substance outside of Joel and Ellie's relationship, and there was a chance, but it just wasn't there.     Naturally, because they can't see past the sexual orientation of the main characters, the only reason they can imagine for someone NOT praising this **** is because they didn't like what they like. So it must be that those people are homophobes, right? No, you idiot, and go duck yourself.

    Perhaps this game's greatest flaw is how f-ing boring it is. This is ~20 hours long, most of which is spent in excruciating boredom of slow, poor stealth gameplay, slow salvaging of resources in empty abandoned places, stumbling through graphically detailed, but mostly artistically deprived environments.

    This is pretty much tlou1 gameplay, marginally improved but also spread over 20 hours like not enough bread over too much butter. This is stealth, but not good stealth, just meh stealth. This is action, but not good action, just meh. And all of it is slow, heavy, pointless and preachy.

    This game seems to have some of the top graphics for a console game, especially when it comes to characters and their animations in cutscenes. The environments can look absolutely stunning at times, but what most people don't mention is that this only happens at times, at specifically defined eyecandy places. Apart from those specific picturesque scenic points, most of the environments you will have the unfortune to traverse will be boring and realistically ugly to look at. Case and point, don't expect this journey to be a pure eyecandy like God of War. When it comes to detail and realism - maybe, but not when it comes to artistic value.

    This is supposed to be story driven, except the story is so shallow in comparison to the first game, it's not even funny. This is just a revenge plot, nothing more. There are elements of romantic relationships, but they don't go anywhere and are just a marginal decoration to the revenge plot.
    Someone kills somebody, somebody goes after the killer, somebody fails and then fails again, the end. It's that simple. It's not about human relationships, not about bonding, not about opening up to each other or finding the light in darkness. It's about pettily getting back at people. Such touching themes, right? Compare this shallow **** to the first game now...

    But this is still a drop in the ocean compared to how poorly previously established characters are handled here. They are essentially different people wearing the skin of someone we knew. Imagine GOT S8 level of character mismanagement, and I don't just mean Daenerys, because literally no character had their integrity by the end of the show. This is what this game is, everyone is making decisions detached from their established personality and sometimes even detached from their situation. It's ridiculous.

    So whereas the first game had a good story to justify its unremarkable gameplay, this story justifies nothing and simply compounds the flaws.

    This absolutely doesn't deserve a 10/10. Not because there are gay people, but because it all is such a step down compared to a 7 year old game. This is boring, insufferable, petty, naive, pseudo-deep and unimaginative.

    1 point further deducted for the marketing lies of ND and Sony, and their absolute abhorrent behavior when it comes to employee treatment, free discussion and dmca abuse. This game was not worth it all.    … Expand

    The biggest issue comes with the game's controls. The only way I can describe it is that it is bad. I found myself struggling against the controls during combat more than I was with the enemies. Aiming on a controller is just awful and most close quarters combats play out like bad quick time events. In the end, I had to turn the difficulty down because of how hard it was to aim with the controller and melee combat was impractical on higher difficulties. The platforming parts of the game are just as bad with the controls.

    The only thing I can say is positive about the game is the graphics. It looks good and there are seamless transitions between gameplay and cinematics. The environments are nice. Character animations are nice. The character models on the other hand are bad. I feel that they fall into that uncanny valley where the realism starts to creep me out.    … Expand

    The writing is dire. Full of plot holes & is very sadistic. Even the characters we are familiar with are reduced to a latter glory of themselves. Joel - who used to be impetuous & take no nonsense is now a withered old man who takes abused from Ellie who is now a spoilt brat who has no morals, ethics, & seldom any intelligence left. She isn't half as likable as Abby who seems to be the better of a poor bunch of brainless girls merely reacting to digs from friends all the time, when they're not stuck in FLASHBACKS for half the game!
    Flashbacks are a result of poor writing falling apart at the seems via logic. Stanley Kubrick once opined "Don't Tell the story.. SHOW the story". Not only do they fail at both, but they are constantly patching it up with amendments in timelines which have no impact to the present story. It is tedious. A frustrating slog through intended checkpoints in order for the ending to make sense.

    It's a shame. Because I think there is no environment in which the people behind the first had any say at all in whether all their work be wiped away with a lesser game that no one wanted. Many Devs raised their voice. The concerns.. ignored.

    This isn't anything to do with sexuality or diversity. I quite like the cast, if they weren't under the strict stipulation of turgid writing. It's GOT Season 7 & 8 all over.    … Expand

Sorry but if you in your right mind give this glorified MOVIE a 10/10 you need your head checked. Lets not even get into how bad the story is compared to the first (the first few hours is literally spent watching a dating rom com) or how the game completely and pointlessly **** on a beloved character or the lackluster ending. No lets forget all that for a minute. It's just NOT a fun game to play, at all. It's a glorified interactive movie. Listen Druckmann, get you a deal with Netflix, and make a full fledged tv show/film it's clearly what you really want to do. It seems like the more advanced consoles are becoming, the less games are being games. If this is what PS5 has to offer, all the games just being walking simulators, then my hype has died down a bit. Find a new formula Sony. Every game being a movie is getting tiresome and old. I don't even feel I need to even talk about the plot, it's not even worthy of mentioning. I will just go on pretending this game never happened, erasing from my memory and only considering the original canon. Way to take a solid game, and completely **** on it's legacy. 10 years from now we could have all looked back at the original TLOU as a great quality game.     A technical accomplishment utterly ruined by narrative choices. The unbridled contempt shown by the writer towards certain characters (and by extension, segments of the audience) is evinced in the sadism, humiliation, and perversion which plays out in the story. A tonal mess that should never have been made. If Neil Druckman is still working in the game industry after this, there is no justice.

    The visuals are absolutely stunning, the snow effects, the footprints, I love it all so much
    I sadly still found myself not wanting to move on in game, the story feels like more of a walking dead shock factor style than what tlou1 gave us, it feels like a cheap slap in the face to the original story

    Beautiful sound and graphics, average gameplay that brings nothing new and really bad story. There are lots of plot holes and no character development. It'd be an OK game if it were from some new IP. It's really painful to see what they have done with Joel and Ellie just for shock factor.

    In addition, part of the gameplay experience is also very bad. The open world design and some unnecessary stories really affect the game rhythm. I want to sleep several times during the game.

It's obvious that Naughty Dog have clearly tried to make something for the sole purpose of creating something "artsy" more so than being an enjoyable experience in any regard. As a result, The Last of Us Part II feelsIn what has easily been one of my most anticipated games for years now, I cannot help but feel disappointed and let down when it comes to Part II of The Last of Us series. It's obvious that Naughty Dog have clearly tried to make something for the sole purpose of creating something "artsy" more so than being an enjoyable experience in any regard. As a result, The Last of Us Part II feels like what might just be the perfect definition of a "sequel that didn't need to exist".

    Starting with the games positives, if there is one thing I can give Naughty Dog, it is definitely the game's graphics. The game is a technological marvel, and is perhaps the best video game I've seen from a graphical perspective in my life. However, this is where my praise for the game ends. Not only is the gameplay significantly stripped down from its predecessor (most notably, the removal of TLoU's fantastic multiplayer mode), but the main selling point of the first game, the story, has been turned into completely jumbled mess that is filled with plot twists with zero purpose, plot holes upon plot holes, and absolutely nonsensical logic. Characters are introduced and forced upon the player for no reason and players are expected to like them for no reason. Similarly, characters are killed and ripped away from the player with very little reasoning behind their deaths. The story stops and takes breaks for completely nonsensical moments, characters now act in ways that would make absolutely no sense in a post-apocalyptic world, and Ellie, now the main character of the story, has justifications that are completely contradictory to her existence in the original game.

    As someone who loved the first game, I just can't help but feel let down by The Last of Us Part II. It feels like Naughty Dog tried so hard to create an "artistic masterpiece" that they forgot what they were actually making. A video game. As a result, the game feels undeniably devoid of the passion that makes up Naughty Dog's previous products, including the original TLoU, and it suffers greatly for it.

    If Neil Druckmann's goal was to create a sequel that achieves little aside from spitting on the first game's grave, then he did an absolutely fantastic job. I wouldn't recommend this game if you haven't played the first game, and I ESPECIALLY would not recommend this game if you have.    … Expand

La verdad, quiero ser muy sincero en esta crítica, le tenía MUCHA fe al juego las últimas fechas por las críticas de la prensa, pero luego de verlo con mis propios ojos, debo admitir que el juego es SUPREMAMENTE forzado en el ámbito de inclusión de minorías, durante todo el juego nos restriegan en la cara que Ellie es lesbiana, si, fue dicho y se dio a entender de manera perfecta en TLoU: Left Behind, pero por que fue a un ritmo lento y muy bien explicado y en absoluto nada incómodo, pero en cambio acá, literalmente desde el primer minuto te dicen que es lesbiana cuando a uno ni le interesa eso.

    Eso por una parte, por que luego el 80% de los diálogos entre Ellie y Dani son meras intuiciones de que se gustan, y la verdad de pasar a ser tierno paraba a ser supremamente incómodo y hasta aburrido y jarto, se sienten hasta forzados los diálogos entre ellas.

    Ahora Abby, dios mio, que personaje tan detestable, sacado de un NPC irrelevante y nada interesante y encima mata a Joel Y TENEMOS QUE CONTROLARLA LA MITAD DEL JUEGO. Pésimo personaje, y aparte hay una escena sexual super incómoda, que incluso si hubiera sido mujer o no, de igual manera esa escena se siente forzada y hasta asquerosa, hay formas de mostrar escenas sexuales en una narrativa, y definitivamente como lo mostraron con Abby, esa NO es la forma.

    Es una opinión sincera, de alguien que aunque leyó los spoilers en abril, le dio esperanzas al juego de que expliquen narrativamente hablando toda la inclusión que dieron, que por mi si incluían personajes LGBTQI+ no me importaba si no fuera relevante su sexualidad o no me lo restregaran en la cara, como lo hicieron con Bill en el primer juego que era gay y nadie sospechaba hasta que vimos que tenía una revista porno gay, y aún así, fue un personaje amado y respetado... ACA FUE TODO LO CONTRARIO.

    I enjoyed various parts of this game however the story was pathetic. It shows a genuine lack of respect to the wonderful original. Most professional reviewers seem to be rubber stamping perfect scores because it is the popular thing to do. Having said that this is my final thoughts. The way I see it is like this. 1. The user scores are not the work of haters alone. 2. Review scores shouldn’t mean anything to anyone. You should judge the game yourself personally and make a decision on whether you like it or not. 3. PlayStation fans and TLoU fans have a lot to do with that user score. 4. The user score will probably get worse. 5. Obviously, some (a lot) major professional reviewers simply rubber stamped a perfect score just because. 6. I know all the leaks and know what happens. I personally do not like the direction of the game at all. 7. People should enjoy the game based on if they like it. Others opinions simply shouldn’t matter. The endless safe cracking and code breaking was annoying after a while. Practicing the guitar was also annoying after a while. None of this helped me enjoy the game.

    This game was just not fun. I played it all the way through and deleted it soon after. I am now replaying Last Of Us, specifically so I can shot the doctor in the head. I believe I will use the torch thrower this time.    … Expand

The end its so upseting, its look like all the character built in the previous game was forgotten.     You can upgrade your character and your weapons, (as you can on the previous game).
    The graphics are very good and the animations are gorgeous.
    ¿Why i'm giving it a 2 then?... Because of the story... That fk piece of s*** caused me to hate this game and it took away all my craving for replaying it.

    The ending is just a part of the problem, and not the problem itself. The game tries to represent that "vengance is bad"... But let me be clear. It tries to do that by not taking revenge against someone that already took revenge... With Joel, killing him at the start of the game.

    Don't take me wrong, Joel had it coming from what he did on the previous game, but doing the people wait YEARS to kill the protagonist of the previous game at the start of this game... It's just a nonsense.

    I'm gonna talk about how this game tries to convince you of not taking revenge because vengance is bad and nothing good comes from it.
    Ellie does not kill the assassin of Joel, (which was Abby). But does not matter if she does or doesn't kill Abby, the plot hole is still there.
    How so?... Well Abby took revenge of Joel, and Ellie didn't with Abby... That means that nothing bad came from Abby's vengance, woohoo -> Plothole (since nothing bad came from vengance).

    Now lets think on the hypothetical situation of Ellie taking revenge on Abby and killing her... Now Abby's dead, woohoo -> Plot hole, since nothing bad came from vengance.
    Now lets think on the other hypothetical situation... Abby takes revenge on Joel and Ellie takes revenge on Abby... BUT, then the partner of Abby wakes up from the boat and kills Ellie, and nothing bad happens to him, woohoo -> Plot hole again, since nothing bad came from vengance.

    It doesn't really matter what you do, vengance it's still there and the plot hole too. What the **** they are actually trying to represent with "vengeance being bad".
    (Also, Ellie didn't took revenge on Abby and still lost her girlfriend by trying to do it... Oh, and two of her fingers too, preventing her from playing the guitar song that Joel teached her).

    Now im going to actually enumerate which contributions this game does to the "The last of Us" Universe. Ready?
    - Joel dies.
    - Tommy (Joel's brother) gets blind from an eye.
    - Ellie's friend Jesse dies.
    - Ellie's girlfriend Dina almost dies, and breaks with Ellie leaving her.
    - Ellie loses 2 fingers.
    * (An everything it's caused by Abby, the one that Ellie let go unpunished).
    Wow, awesome!, I can't wait to play this game again and revive all this beatiful moments!.

In the beginning we are lead to believe we will go on this harsh journey to bring justice to beloved Joel, just to forced to play as the insufferable villain and then forced to let them go after a terrible flashback story of the character that could of been written out all together. It seems the writers really were being lazy on this one cause the whole story doesnt make any sense. Why did the antagonist linger on Joel for this long instead of surviving and how come they survive the long journey when many parish. Why are the infected treated like such a side piece and not a main enemy. The characters they feel so hollow inside and out. Even playing the game feels like some cheap chinese knock off. Honestly if only Joel was around longer in the game or at least died in the end then it would be okay. Gonna never jump the gun on buying a new game a again… Expand

Joel, just like Luke, gets completely s**t on just to "subvert expectations", a slap in the face of all fans of TLOU part 1. Most of the new characters are uninteresting and by halfway through the gameplay gets really repetitive. Which leaves us with the story, a pointless revenge story without the big payoff. I don't know what they were thinking when they wrote this, but they clearly missed the mark, at least with fans of the original. A low score is given for ruining and killing off one of the most beloved and interesting characters without even giving him a proper ending or purpose. What a shame naughty dog, went from top studio to irrelevant all thanks to Neil druckman AKA the new Rian Johnson.… Expand

    The graphics and environments are phenominal. But unfortunately that is where my enjoyment ended. The writing was laughably bad in my opinion. The narrative and direction felt entirely forced and unnecessary. The game play is slightly improved from the first game but there is not much innovation to be had in general. It's sad for me to say these things because I loved the first game.

    Sound - Great!
    Graphic - Damn great!

    But the Story is totally awful, super bad. The revenge plot is ok, but how the game presents it to you is not great at all. It is boring, and in the end, it's totally freaking useless. What's the point of having the player went through all that if the ending is just meh?

An antagonistic character is introduced and matter-of-factly placed into the role of the protagonist without the writers even attempting to show any subtlety or self awareness for the lack of a coherent transition and only relies on tedious flash backs that will only serve to frustrate you and make you feel like you're being gated from progression.

    The script defines itself as nothing more than a B-rated shock horror-esque cinema thriller. The script also reeks of enormous plot holes and ill thought out thematic messages that are in constant contradiction from beginning till end. When the game itself largely shouts "REVENGE BAD" as its mantra, you won't find yourself surprised when it decides to flop on that message as well to "MISERY GOOD".

    Gameplay mechanics have zero notable improvement from the previous title. Graphics are brilliant with high frames even in dense jungle/flora vistas so that earns one point. Voice acting is superb so that also earns another point. Final score is a 2/10. Skip this mess of a sequel story no one asked for.    … Expand
