Whether good or bad, it leaves you “feeling” something, cause it’s a genuine experience. I feel betrayed, we all feel betrayed. Not just because “some stuff” that’s happening in the game. Mainly, because this game has no heart, soul, nor purpose. I feel betrayed because this game is empty...It is empty because it’s phony.

    If you want to be brave and innovative, as you think you are, be honest. Don’t manipulate your trailers, don’t ban certain elements under the term “spoiler” that surely be criticized by consumers, so that people can’t talk or review beforehand. If you want to be brave, play with your cards open, don’t be insidious.

    And don’t call it a sequel if it’s core is created by last minute added-up, not so bright ideas of yours that’s rude to it’s predecessor. I’m not talking about giving a fan service, I hate that. But, you can’t just insult your previous work like this.

    This is what happens when you pump certain “developers” ego in a wrong way, put them in a certain important positions that make them feel like they’re a real time genius superhero, who can getaway with anything (feeling so important that you put yourself in game as an Easter egg, with a %100 brains)...    … Expand

    This should have been game of the year, but it is just sooo lacking and full of the same tired SJW propaganda. And it commits an even greater sin than that -- it's boring! I regret paying my hard-earned money for this game and will try my best to return it for a full refund somehow.

The fact these people loved in their lives, had protection and felt the need for revenge. It's hard when you start seeing other perspectives and the game dips into mental health, lesbian relationships and transgender battles. As well as a host of other things. It's a deep game but some relationships shops are wholesome and meaningful. Game play is smoother and the graphics are stunning and incredible. The clickers still give me nightmares so theres that too. I loved this game. 10/10 will hopefully play again to fund the trophies I missed.… Expand

    The graphics are great. Gameplay is standard or slightly below. Nothing impressive as far as a game goes. The beautiful scenery is lovely but you aren't doing anything interesting in it. Combat is below expectations. The story is beyond terrible. It isn't that it tries so hard to be edgy that ruins it... it isn't even the intentional **** on the fans of the first game...     Overall. This game is just... a long movie. No choices to make, just sit back and enjoy the constant violence. Barely any levity. I understand its a bleak world but holy heck can you at least give us something? People you care about get murdered, slaughtered, maimed and all kinds of things, until you eventually just become numb to it. And then at the ending you are supposed to care again.

    I see what they try to do with the "cycle of violence, but its written by a two year old.
    Don't waste your money.

    I just... Ok everybody knows Joel dies by now because of the spoilers. But the way they did it. It was nihilistic, gross, disgusting. He didnt go out in some heroic moment, he wasnt protecting Ellie. He just gets clubbed down with a golf club while other people spit on his corpse. AGAIN i understand the game is supposed to be bleak, but this is a character people have loved for 7 years. Its completely disrespectful towards any fan of the previous game.

    Then you play Abby, and we are supposed to be caring for her? I mean... what? Because Joel killed her dad. Cycle of violence, we get it, revenge begets revenge, because Ellie will go after Abby bla bla bla.

    I understand what they are trying to do. But the end just makes it laughable. You go killing HUNDREDS of humans, to get revenge for Joel. But in the end you let Abby live, because Ellie gets a flashback of Joel. And decided its not worth it. HOW about the other hundreds of people you eradicated in your quest for revenge? You just let the actual killer go? It's just ridiculous.

    Joel would have killed her in a heartbeat if she killed Ellie.

    Anyway. Zen. This game is trying to get us angry, and i get that i will be judged just emotional, and reacting exactly as i should have. But im simply angry because it was all so poorly written, poorly handled and executed. Joel has always been paranoid and super careful, but decides to just let himself get captured, after giving away his full name to strangers who obviously are luring him into a trap. Joel would never have given away his full name. But because of plot, he had to.

    I understand its a game, so obstacles have to exist in games. But its almost comical how you get to wipe out literal hundreds of people, and then get to feel bad about killing someone who killed your father figure, letting her go.

    1/10. Such a slap in the face. I loved TLOU. But this franchise is dead to me.
    I hope you enjoy it. I really do. Just here to say my piece. And i would recommend not supporting this crap financially. They will only make more of this crap.

    Oh i left out graphics and gameplay.
    Gameplay is fine, nothing groundbreaking. 7/10

An extension to the greatest game of its generation, butchered by a narrative dependent on shock value and cheap tricks that illustrate genuine contempt for the relationship of the original characters from which the greatness of the original is built.

    To their credit, the writers display immense confidence in their ability to manipulate an audience and to that effect they succeed. If the goal was to develop a harrowing experience that truly reflected the cycle of revenge in a post-apocalyptic work, they succeed unquestionably.

    Where I believe they fail is a fundamental misunderstanding of the human condition and perhaps even an underestimation of the profound impact of their game on so so many of their player base. We are well aware that Joel's actions in the first game are self-centred, shallow, brash and immoral beyond belief. Therefore, we also understand the reaction of certain characters in the sequel. In fact, empathising with these characters is very easy. I suspect in the years writers spent creating these new characters they developed an attachment and empathy for them that is simply not present in players. We fell in love with two characters and learned to accept them for all their misgivings and their flaws. I seldom think there exists plot devices or writing techniques that would have lessened our affiliation with Joel and Ellie to the point where we are willing to accept her final decision. I also believe there will be far less contentiousness about the morality of her final decision as there was with Joel's final decision at the end of the original. It rather feels like a final **** you' to Joel and a mockery of what he was willing to do for Ellie.

    Unfortunately, the success of the first game meant a sequel needed to be about Ellie. This game is not about Ellie. By the time this game is over, it has decimated its original cast and completely tarnished the message it brutally attempted to deliver throughout the entirety of the game. For although the 'cycle of violence' has been broken, there is no tangible benefit from Ellie's growth and in fact the message this game sends, upon further reflection, is perhaps that Joel's self-centred, shallow, brash and immoral methodologies depicted in the first game were necessary. That game concludes with Joel as perhaps a villain, but a winner nonetheless. For all of Ellie's growth as this second story comes to a crescendo, her character development causes her more suffering than adopting original Joel's 'kill-or-be-killed' approach. Further, the tangible softening of Joel in this saga would have been believable and welcomed, given 4 years of interacting with Ellie. It also would've been an excellent trait in a secondary character. Unfortunately, it appears to have been paired with an unexplainable development of an unprecedented trust in strangers that is horrendously uncharacteristic.

    The few bright spots in the first game are gone, replaced by a never-ending bleakness that is robbed of at least a satisfying conclusion. Obviously, the confidence of the writers somewhere along the line crossed into hubris and what I'm sure to them feels like a 'mic-drop' moment falls well short of what could've been a redeeming ending. The actual ending that appears in the game also appears to undermine the message it tries to enforce throughout. Ellie evidently finally understands the not-so-subtle lesson her journey has been trying to illustrate and demonstrates genuine growth. Somehow, the writers decide not to reward her for this and it is unbelievably those who enacted their revenge that find themselves with a satisfying conclusion, while Ellie and the player are left alone in a still lake - cold, in pain and heartbroken.    … Expand

Guys, save yourself the money and get P5R, which is the best game of the year or save of Cyberpunk 2077. And the guys who are giving this full rating are just vowed by the graphics and presentation, which to be fair is one of the bests of this generation (PS4). I don't own a PS4 pro but no doubt it looks better. But good graphics and presentation are not enough to make a game and I would rather watch a movie in that case. I would give this a 4 but the blatant disrespect to consumers (false advertising in the trailers) which I won't detail here to keep it spoiler free forces me to knock this down to zero.… Expand

It made me lower my expectations lower than they have ever been and I was still disappointed. The plot is absolute garbage and that is no over exaggeration. A C grade revenge plot with utterly uninteresting characters.

    Abby is some angry chick who gets saved by Joel just for her to blow his leg off with a shotgun and then to club him to death with a golf club in the first 3 hours of gameplay. The rest of the game is a one-dimensional revenge plot that tried really hard to include some edge and depth but failed miserably.    … Expand

I purchased this game not just for the stellar gameplay that the original had to offer, but also for the deep and compelling characters that made the first such a masterpiece. The first game had puzzles that were clever, gameplay was good and overall, pieced together an experience that the plau could grow along with as it made the world and the characters within it relatable. But you won't find that here, not in the last of us part 2. They completely kill off beloved characters out of disrespect for fans of the first, just for shock value. The story of Ellie being unique and immune from the first is barely awknowledged. They took everything good from the first and desicrated it, it's not the same characters you fell in love with and truth be told if you loved the first games characters then you will loath part 2's.

    This "game" is not anymore a game then it is a message from the developer; a message that makes it abundantly clear that if you're white or straight then this game is NOT for you. You're the bad guy here. The gameplay consists of 20 hours of stealth and combat, with very little in between to give you a break from combat. There are no light hearted moment that gives you a reprieve from its "you're so bad and violence is wrong" message. Its hours of the same thing over and over and over, which would be fine if the story was acceptable, and SPOILER ALERT it's NOT. The main characters from the previous game have been entirely rewritten for a revenge story that conflicts with who they are. The new characters are straight from the LGBT board of representatives, and designs and personalities are probably more prejudiced than I really want to admit. Stereotypes, trans women (or women that look trans) and lesbian couples that would rather hate men than forgive them for a mistake. It'sn an utter JOKE and man I really thought ND was better than this. Lesbians and transvestites don't play your games so stop catering to them. I thought the leaks were fake, boy was in the wrong. They were dead on. I'm in the process of trying to get a refund because I'll be damed to pay for a game from a developer that hates me this much.    … Expand

    Sony has done every attempt to mask the games flaws. The writer of this games is a comp science major, which probably explains the psychopathic behaviours of the characters we knew and loved.
    Gameplay and visuals were okay, an upgrade but nothing to write home about. Facial emotions and expressions are done very well. The only redeeming aspect of this game would be the accessibility options, it's got a ton almost enough to be complain about. Save your cash and watcha playthrough if you are interested in experiencing the story for yourself, but be warned, a high schooler could've come up with a better story than this,    … Expand

Graphics and animations have been improved and the game looks very good, but unfortunately thats pretty much all i can say is positive about the game. The gameplay is pretty much the same as in part 1, which by itself isn’t bad, but not adding new features does make everything a bit repetitive. Now we come to my biggest problem with the game... the story. 2 hours in Joel gets killed, you go after abby to kill her, some random flashbacks here and there, some random ppl die along the way, and in the end you don‘t kill her because you had a flashback of Joel playing the guitar... that’s it. Characters aren’t very interesting, the whole plot is stupid and I couldn’t care less about Abby and her failed love life (and you‘re pretty much forced to play as her for half of the game). And for everybody saying I‘m hating the last of us 2 because I have a problem with lesbians... it‘s not like Ellie was a lesbian in the last of us left behind dlc already... and ppl didn‘t have a problem with that game so your argument it invalid.… Expand

    Sometimes your expectations are too high and can't be met.

    Sometimes the story goes off the rails, everything previously accomplished is trashed, and a political agenda is shoved down your throat.

And many years later, people still talk about how masterpiece it was. Part 2 literally is the opposite in every single way. The only reedming thing about it is the amazing graphics. Character design is horrible, it's just uglier in comparison to part 1. The story feels like it's written by someone who hates the game. You're literally forced to play as a character with zero development, noy only that but you kill joel in the most awful manner, and what's even worse is that his death accomplished nothing. Ellie didn't develop as a character at all. Even the new characters don't feel attractive and don't make you attach to them . And I'm not even going to mention the ending ( you get to experience the shock yourselves) but I'll say it's like watching John wick killing all the henchmen simply to let the main villain live. That's literally the end.

It disgusts me how one man (Neil Druckman) can ruin and entire **** series to the point where his own **** employees risk their skin just warn people about it being awful and not to buy it.     This story is all about revenge between transgender and lesbian. The whole game is only about playing as new main character (trans) with other new characters. This game feels like different game in TLOU universe. It supposed to be a game with Joel and Ellie, even with Diana but we got like 60-70% of story with Abby.
    And there is a lot of fights against humans but not zombies and this game wasn't even scary. I'm very disappointed. My rate is 2/10 just for graphics but i'll rate 0/10 because why not. Cyberpunk is going to be GOTY of 2020 and i'm pretty sure they won't disappoint me.

    I just don't like Neil Druckmann and how he thinks that he is so much better than anyone else because of his new-found ideology. He needs to grow up and realize that boasting about being 'woke' is an immature thing to do. Also after hearing about how the people working at Naughty Dog were treated I had to do my part in giving Naughty Dog what they deserved.

    When I play a video game, especially like the last of us, I like to get a positive experience out of it. tlou 1 was up there with the very best games of all time related to this. tlou 2 has nothing to enjoy.

    Not only is this the best PS4 game I would argue it's the best game in a decade. Truly a marvel in every sense of the word. Compelling story in an incredibly well r realized world. Cannot wait to start up a new game. This is a must buy.

    A game with probably some of the best visuals I’ve ever seen, but a garbage story, lack of gameplay mechanics variety, unlikeable characters, and honestly just feels like a major step back in the franchise. I would say this is nothing more than a big budget fan fic.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
