    Honestly speaking, one big disappointment (gameplay, plot, characters, lore - everything from the first part is ruined). I would not recommend this game to anyone. Also, the authors' response to criticism was from being adequate. The game is purely awful, while the authors started emphasizing political context of criticism in order to make better impression. Such a disappointment.

Absolutely loved the first game, played it over and over again, and when I heard they were making a second one, I couldn’t contain my excitement!! But when the second instalment arrived.........well I can say I’ve played it through once and will not be playing it again. The game itself was very well done and the graphics were flawless, but I didn’t enjoy playing Ellie as much as I thought I would and the whole character swapping was the final nail in the coffin. The biggest setback for me was the story, from the moment Joel died I just felt like the game betrayed him by letting us play the girl that killed him and tried to tell her sob story so that killing Joel wouldn’t be so bad. Then right at the end after all that struggle, Ellie let her go!! I mean WTF?!?! Just a totally piss poor effort from naughty dog. Will not be playing the third if there is unless it’s a total rewrite of this poor effort of a story!!… Expand

    Just finished. Never ever finished a game where I couldn't wait to get to the end for it to just be over. Loved the first one (played it more than once). Horrible story line. Frustrating. Annoying stupid story! Graphics amazing. Switched to hard difficulty mid-way, but even that was quite easy. Some enjoyable moments but storyline died midway for me. And never recovered. Put me off naughtyJust finished. Never ever finished a game where I couldn't wait to get to the end for it to just be over. Loved the first one (played it more than once). Horrible story line.     Loved the original game, this one....not so much.

    Graphics and atmosphere are top notch. However there is no way this is a 10/10. Games like Bioshock, GTA IV, Red Dead Redemption, Fallout NV are 10/10 games that are replayble, this is not.

The protagonists of the first game exist here only to be killed or destroyed for some reasons. Manipulative section to make you feel sorry for the villain. New characters are not interesting at all.

And no- I am not hating "because my favourite character died", or that there was LGBT representation, or that Abby was "Swoll" (I wish i could throw punches like her). I am awarding 1 score for the graphics, and 2nd score for the game play. The story, its plot-holes and other nonsensical things (like PREGNANT women going to war or a woman being A FEW WEEKS LATE on her period, venturing into a zombie-infested wild country) get absolute zero. And a special ZERO for making us play 70% of the game with characters we didn't care about. The music is fantastic though, but that's not Naughty Dog's talent, so they dont get a score for it!… Expand

I too have waited a very long time to play this game, I purchased it on release (my birthday), and while I found it a little slow to start with, I now find myself at the mid point in the game completely invested in the story and it's characters. The gameplay is amazing, and without any doubt this is the best looking game on the ps4. Very few games have compelled me to play through them again, however I played through the first game in this series several times, and once I have finished this game I can see myself doing exactly the same. It's a great game, experience, emotional rollercoaster filled with tender moment, heart stopping scares, great action and amazing presentation. It's not going to be for everyone, it can be tough at times, frustrating even, being hunted by a bunch of infected with no supplies is a scenario I have found myself dying in time and time again, but it is rewarding too. In my opinion, and I may be wrong, this is the game PS4 will be remembered for, and I would encourage anybody to at the very least try it. Maybe my opinion will change when the end game credits start to roll, but unless naughty dog have done something seriously wrong with the second half of this game, it's s perfect 10 for me.… Expand

    Overhyped just like the first one.If this game was a cross platform it would be considered mediocre.
    Small maps , linear gameplay , cheesy and predictable story...what did even the fanboys saw in this.
    Not to mention the political agenda the second part tries to push..Disgusting.

I asked myself some very hard personal questions about my level of forgiveness towards people and if I was willing to go through with trying to understand Abbey’s side of the story. I didn’t want to. But I chose to stuff my emotions and see what naughty dog wanted me to feel. Fine, let’s go. Abbey grew on me and I started to feel her pain. Thanks for teaching me that, really. I’m better for it. Then you make me fight Ellie??? NO, I won’t. I don’t want to. Why!? Wtf! What’s wrong with y’all? I don’t want to fight her, I love her like a sister from 5 years ago, remember. What the hell is wrong with you people? Ok, so I can’t progress in the story unless I try to kill Ellie, so FINE we have to do it I guess. Now at this point I’m playing the game with nothing left to feel about Joel, or Ellie or Abbey cuz I’m too scared to like any characters anymore! So I’m just pushing buttons to get over the story by now. Maybe my love for artwork or the console itself will help. So I get to the end and abbey is looking like a crackhead but she still strong enough to go toe to toe with Ells. Whatever. It’s finally over and Ellie lost her girlfriend over for nothing. Water her time going to look for fake revenge. At least give me a reason to like somebody somewhere! Damn! Not even a little! Just rape me. Take my money and run. I haven’t felt this used since Glenn was killed of from walking dead! I’m not buying another game by naughty dog. Not after the way they treated my loyalty to their characters. Did they really think they could introduce us to a new character/narrative that is SOO good that we forget what we fell in love with in the first game and are willing to forgive the destruction of that. If Neil/ND are actually going to take their own 'moral of the story' from this game, then there shouldn't be a Part 3 or any humans dying in the hands of our protagonist in any of their games from now on.     The result of worrying about being politically correct instead of writing a coherent story, I have nothing against the gay/ trans characters, but I do have something against developers who write **** stories around them, and flat out accuses anyone who calls them out on writing a **** story a bigot.

    The gameplay is spectacular (unrivaled as far as an action adventure game). If you love being in the universe, you'll love this game. Even if you won't like the story, buy this game. The physics and mechanics are completely 10/10 as far as I'm concerned.

    Really bad writing. The story is extremely divisive among fans for good reason. I did not have fun playing as Abby for over half the game, and thought the story’s theme and attempt to teach us a lesson about why revenge is bad was halfhearted and lackluster.

Joel's decision at the end of the last game is declared fundamentally WRONG, and he's a bad person who needs to make it right. No profound moral dilemma, just a hamfisted message about the "cycle of vengeance", and a depressing one at that. Druckmann was allowed a little too much creative freedom, and as a result, the game doesn't know what it wants to be. It tries to do several things at once, and fails intensely at all of them. Naughty Dog has broken their consistent cycle of quality, and sh*t the bed in one of the biggest franchises in
    AAA gaming. The ending leaves WAY too much open to interpretation, making it impossible to predict the likelihood of a sequel. If they do make a third game, I hope they steer far away from what they've done here! 1 OUT OF 10! Joel deserved better!

    Post Script: Just remembered all the early advertisements for this game, and how prominent Joel's character was in them. We were all lead to believe that Joel would be very important to this next game, and Ellie's motivation would be the death of Dina. Naughty Dog literally LIED in their advertising. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS LACK OF TRANSPARENCY BY PURCHASING THE GAME, TAKE IT FROM SOMEONE WHO PAID FULL PRICE TO BE DEPRESSED FOR 20+ HOURS! SAVE YOUR MONEY!    … Expand

    И да это та игра которая легко пробивает на слёзы. Потом графон вообще что то нереальное. До сих не понимаю как такие красоты могли выдать на пс 4 slim. Игру стоп проц надо брать! Lo jugué con la idea de lo malo que es en "historia" según los comentarios de las personas, pero al jugarlo sentí varias emociónes primero venganza, tristeza, odio y arrepentimiento, al ver por todo lo que paso ABBY con LEB fue algo similar a lo que hizo JOEL con ELLIE salvarlo y que esa persona saque lo más humano de uno porque ya lo había perdido todo, si jugaron al primer juego sabrán de lo que habló. El final sentí empatía con los personajes y no quería que muriera ABBY ni ELLIE quería que pararán de pelear (ya ambos personajes perdieron muchos Seres queridos) y lo que hizo ELLIE fue crecer como persona y mirar hacia delante dejando de lado la venganza gracias a la última vez que habló con JOEL ese recuerdo fue el detonante para parar de una vez todo. I only found out about the Vice review because I saw that Sony contacted him about his review, which isn’t a good look. And that’s coming from someone whose favorite console is PlayStation. That doesn’t foster an environment that encourages honest reviews, criticism, or discussions about games. I will probably never buy a Naughty Dog game again.    … Expand

Honestly i don't care about the kids who vote 0 to games like this because they're frustrated about the death of Joel. This game is the highest point in our generation and deserve the 10, for the kids who don't understand the meaning of this game: shut up.

    * The grapich is wonderful, the details are perfect, lights and shadow are managed very well and the glance is spectacular.

I honestly don't understand all the hate about this game, and I think that all the haters of this game are just people who can't accept the death of their favourite character. I will say honestly that when i saw Joel being murdered by Abby, I truly wanted her dead. But te game was playing on my feelings, and that shows how great is Neil Druckmann as scenarist. By the end of the game, I didn't want to kill Abby at all, because she had already gone through some s***t. And I didn't want Ellie dead as well. And I think that the ending of that game is just amazing. I was feeling empty (in a positive way). I am really waiting for the III part!!!… Expand

The story they are trying to tell involves a lot of complex emotions. I understand some plot points have been hotly contended but in order to tell this kind of a story it needs to be done. I’ve often find myself both very hopeful and very Machiavellian in regards to humanity and society. This story happens to appeal to that very nature. The gameplay is very fun and tense when it needed to be. I couldn’t be happier with the way it has turned out and I see the reactions from angry gamers about the controversial plot point as a testament to how well written these characters are. The world is fleshed out really well the environment are open and linear which is perfect. The score is somber and thoughtful and I genuinely got lost in the music when it would kick in and exhilarated when it Would ramp up for a fight. The enemies are expertly crafted and will go down as some of the best enemy concepts ever, truly terrifying.

    Naughty dog has always delivered thee best games, The Jak and Daxter series was arguably one of my favourite game series and uncharted is one of the best game series ever made. The last of part II has ensured that the PS4s life cycle is going to end stronger than ever. Congratulations to Naughty Dog I cant wait for the future games from you.    … Expand

    Tlou2 is an masterpice. I have complited the game and wow. It had so much in it new elements, new world, awesome story and interesting characters. I think, if you loved the first one you are going to love this to. Play the the last of us 2 and stop the hate.

Different land - different people. And his relation and living with Tommy, settling down has maybe changed him. Elli on the other side is just on an emotional roller coaster ride and is trying to figure out what to do. She has hard moments and break downs. Abby is just a cold-hearted solider. Just like a character in the game said: "You are a bad person, Abby." And she tries to change that by helping these kids. Same as her loved person, who tries to change as well. Maybe she wants a new life. She is not following rules and is unpredictable, but hardly trained and signed by these harsh world.
    And like everybody else said: atmosphere is top notch, gameplay flows, graphics, sounds. All very very good. Like the hospital basement. Climbing down the broken building. These mediterranean's-feeling coast stuff. I liked it a lot.
    But yeah, the second part of the game has some long stretches. Could be better here and there. But overall I was pretty well entertained. And my expectations where high as well. But I wanted a different story and I got one. I am happy with that. It's a brave game. Like Sekiro. And that wasn't loved as well because expectations weren't matched. But it was still a good game in what it wanted it to be.    … Expand

As a huge fan of the first TLOU, I want to start off by saying this is now my favorite game of ALL time. What Neil and Naughty Dog has accomplished is nothing short of excellence. 10 years from now, people will be talking about how TLOU2 has revolutionized the gaming industry. Future video games will be influenced by its brilliance.

    Critics have claimed TLOU2 is not worthy of praise due to its dark story line and character development. It is true, the game is very dark, but many great stories are. The same can be said about The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, and many of the top shows or series nowadays. Remember when Jon Snow died? Fans protested and claimed they weren't going to watch the show anymore. The Walking Dead has also faced backlash and criticism for its plot points. If a critic can't understand TLOU2's ultimate theme and message it offers, it is probably why those critics rated the game with a low score. In a world dimly lit, there is a bright fire that burns with a very positive message. The game and character decisions are very realistic for the environment and situations they are placed in. A story being "dark" doesn't diminish the fact that the story arc is incredible. There is also, in my opinion, a very positive message to be had if you play it all the way through, even if it comes from dark circumstances.

    Many have blasted the game for its character development. There are a lot of people resistant to change, which you can see in the real world today. TLOU2 has so many themes about oppressed peoples, cultures, and nationalities, which some may not like. However, many (not all) are bigoted people that really don't want to see diversity in a video game, let alone real life. The character development is actually what makes the game compelling and has brought passion out of gamers, both negative and positive. Most giving unfair scrutiny to the game are biased critics that will never try to walk in another person's shoes or look at life from a different perspective.
    The storyline and characters are much more deeply rooted than most can understand. For something to change the way we look at things, it is and will be controversial. This is why Neil Druckmann states, "The game is not for everyone."

    I am fascinated by how well written the story is, but the gameplay also excels. TLOU2 expands on what its prequel already did well, adding some new mechanics to Ellie's ability to fight or flight. With the abilities to go prone, dodge, and jump, the gameplay is leaps above its predecessor. The graphics are absolutely the best I've seen in a video game, lending to its realism and makes everything even more believable.

    I truly hope there will be a third installment for TLOU. Seven years is a long time to wait for a sequel, but the wait was well worth it. Thank you Neil and the Naughty Dog team! I truly look forward to at least a trilogy and can't wait for the HBO series to air.

I feel that what would have made a better ending, is the last flashback of Ellie with Joel. The one at the dance was so sad for me because I taught it was the last words of Ellie to Joel. But actually during the last flashback I was expecting something more emotional between these 2, maybe something that recomforts Ellie in not finishing the job. I found the last flashback sad and think they could have been more to it. That would have made a perfect ending. But seriously what a game… Expand

The graphics is 'next gen' so say the least. The colour palette is fresh and is worthy of immense artistic merit. The lighting is incredibly rendered, with this being on par with extraordinary games like Red Dead Redemption II and Control. To conclude with, it's only a moment of time before the true feelings of the game is acknowledged and the preliminary hate goes away. This is a masterpiece. Definitely Game of The Year Contention.     As someone who has actually played this game, I can easily say it’s brilliant. It doesn’t try to be anything other than it is; an update and refinement of the gameplay in the first game with larger and more detailed environments, and a well-written revenge story with believable characters.
    If you liked the first game, there is no reason you wouldn’t like this.

    I AM a incredible fan of the original game. I WAS looking forward to the continuation of the gripping and emotionally satisfying storyline. The plot was terrible. Characters were all over the place, and some VERY unlikeable. Very disappointed. Graphics were incredible, but if I wanted to look at beautiful snowscapes, I'd look outside at our Pocono Mountainside.

    This game has great gameplay, stunning graphics and engaging characters. The story is brutal but it's a brutal world. It's a powerful, exhilirating story. Don't let them put you off buying this amazing game.

One of the best games for play. the excellent graphics, the brutal gore, incredible animations, it is noted that those who criticize children are unable to accept the changes and are not tolerant.     The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
