    When I bought the game, I expected absolutely not what I got. In all the videos, we were trying to convince that the game will be about our favorite characters, about their journey and revenge for the girl Ellie.     Вот не сделай разработчики в своей игре этой пропаганды «современных модных ценностей» игру бы на руках носили. Ну как минимум 8,5 можно было бы поставить смело. Но по итогу только - 3. Геймплей и графика - хороши, но ведь мы не за это любим Last Of Us правда? Сюжет? - не не слышал. Надеюсь это будет уроком для Naughty Dog.     How the mighty naughty dog has fallen.the first last of us is a masterpiece.gameplay,graphic and music in the game is still great but the story is so depressing .it's like eating an expensive food expecting to have a complete satisfaction but instead left wanted.too much propaganda in a single game.a game was supposed to be fun.what's the point in gaming if it is as depressing as real life?

    Jugué este juego y lo estaba disfrutando mucho, pero me parece una falta de respeto el trato que le dieron a los personajes. La basura woke no tiene nada que ver, simplemente es la mala narrativa y como trataron la historia lo que duele.

Gameplay was meh and less varied than Uncharted, and the stories and plots directly copy pasted from movies and books, just so they can say "look games can be mature too!". Did love the DLC though.

    For some reason, I got interested in the second one though. And oh boy, what a let down. Not only is the game more bland and boring than the first, despite having more options in combat and otherwise, but the story is even worse and more uninspired. Its also very filled with characters you dont give a F about. First one had a great cast, this one, not at all.
    This is just a try-hard gritty story about revenge not being worth it, that beats you over the head with how bad revenge is.

    That it wasn't predictable is the only thing I can say for it. It really was a waste of money and time, not just for me as a consumer, but also for dev. But of course critics love it, because they jump at any opportunity to prove that games can be mature too. TLOU2 isn't mature though. It's a hamfisted copy of comic and movie tropes that tries way too hard to be relevant.
    If at least teh gameplay was more like their Uncharted games with having more variations constantly...    … Expand

    Но как же омерзительно игра воспринимается с идеологической точки зрения. А так, как, тлоу - это в первую очередь игра про атмосферу и сюжет, то это провал.

    I must stand by what is right, I must evaluate this game with a non bias approach... it's not good. But that's start positive, the music's alright. Good looking game, very nice world to walk around in, although it serves nothing to the player outside of visuals. Gameplay is ok to begin with... but it does get very VERY repetitive about 10 of the 25 hours in. The beautiful development ofI must stand by what is right, I must evaluate this game with a non bias approach... it's not good. But that's start positive, the music's alright. The ending in particular made me laugh so very hard and ironically, out of pure pain and agony over what I just witnessed. Neil Druckmann should not only be fired from Naughty Dog but banned from writing stories for any other game, film or TV series. If you loved the first game, do yourself a massive favour and stay well away from this disasterpiece. Not only will it ruin the franchise for you, it'll ruin your faith in humanity.… Expand

Gameplay is honestly not much different than Last of us. We can jump now and lay prone. Whoopie! The graphics in the game are AMAZING for the hardware. The one bad thing for me was the story! From the jumping back and forth in time between Abby and Ellie to the weird jumps in time. The game just feels like a complete mess. Play last of us 1 and maybe pick this up on sale.… Expand

A dumb "woke" plot trying to force the message down your throat that murder is... Bad I guess? That revenge doesn't get you anywhere? An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind? You know, basic platitudes that you learn in kindergarten. Basically it throws the characters and the reasons you loved the first game in the garbage, all in the name of some social agenda. It's moronic and pandering. The only reason Naughty Dog games are great is because their characters and story, and they *really* dropped the ball here, to an *EMBARRASSING* extent. 7 years of work on this game for nothing, 7 years of hype and waiting for nothing. Save yourself the $60, there are a lot of games coming out this year that will 100% be worth the money.    … Expand

Many people loved the first one, and all too often, a sequel just shows that fans and developers aren't on the same page. That's okay. The gameplay loop is great, the graphics are great and the level design is fantastic. The AI is simply good, the story is serviceable, and some of the characterizations of some of the people provide an empathetic connection.

    However, this game makes me sick. The overly gratuitous sex scene is one thing that I may not have appreciated, but then, at times, relentless over the top goreplay is too much. Now that I've gone all the way through, I will simply say that this was a torture porn and gore show. The story, while not bad, does nothing to deserve the torture and outright evil things you do as Abby.

    I like the first game, wouldn't call myself a fan, but it was fine enough. This game tried to play the "art" game, but it's really just a case of somebody getting off on what should be an AO rating.    … Expand

    I bought the game despite the leaks, I wanted to see the whole thing before judging but I still felt very disappointed after finishing it, I just rushed through the game and finished it within 20 hours. The leaks were pretty much spot on.

    The gameplay is largely the same as the original with the addition of jump and prone. The story is really bad and makes no sense. Typical Sony walking sim. I would not recommend for more than $15.

    All I have to ask is this...did these Co called big games and journalistic outlets play the exact same game as I did? After playing into The Last Of Us 2 for 6+ hours, I'd had quite enough. Y, ¿para qué? Lo único que movía la historia es las ansias de venganza de Ellie y del propio jugador, y al final no se ven recompensadas.
    La historia del primer The Last of Us es tan aclamada porque a pesar de que el mundo en el que se desarrolla, nos enseña que siempre puede haber esperanza y que el sol brilla entre las nubes. Aqui, los pocos momentos optimistas que hay se dan en flashbacks y poco más. Matan a personajes queridos para dar paso a otros nuevos peor desarrollados.
    Las actuaciones de los actores son fántasticas, aunque el guión sea tan malo.
    Respecto al gameplay, es una evolución del primero pero se sigue sintiendo un poco ortópedico.
    Gráficamente es espectacular, lo mejor de Ps4 y a la par de Red Dead Redemption 2. Las animaciones de los personajes están logradísimas.
    En definitiva, si te gustó la historia y los personajes del primero, no juegues a este, solo sirve para pasar un mal rato muy largo.    … Expand

    After 7 years of waiting totally disappointed, it isn't the game I dreamed about, the story feels unfinished feels like a teenager TV drama (like riverdale or something like that), worthless it had a Lot of plot holes. the gameplay is ok until you play with Abby then is messy and broken, Graphs are awesome.

    Gameplay & Graphics are fantastic. Story & Dialogue are atrocious though. Disrespectful to established characters, & the new characters were not compelling enough to win me over. I absolutely hated the dialogue, it was so forced and cringey. Overblown game that over stayed it's welcome. Any time I started to have fun, the story ruined it for me. Purchased digitally, I will not be replaying.

In an attempt to be deep and prove video games are art they instead made something without any meaning besides shock and subversion.     The feeling of disappointment is overwhelming. The game first sets you up with taking out the main character (Joel) for what feels like mere shock value. Then has you chasing down the killer for the first half a game only to turn you 180 and feel like you need to start making a connection with Joel's killer which you now control. It seems like they had all these "cool" ideas but totally forgot what made The Last of Us Part 1 so good story wise. Only out of sheer will to see this train-wreck I continued playing as Abby.

    Graphics and Gameplay are great, but really are we getting TLOUP2 for graphics and gameplay? We know even if you turned up the original a bit it was going to be smooth to play. This story is just a mess, you had rich and vibrant characters from the original and just let it go to waste.

    None of the Dina and Ellie story bothered me, nice to see them try but its hard to have a connection with Dina because it was just so bland.    … Expand

    How the story is told generate instant and passionate Hatred of Abby and most players won't even want to finish the game because of this.

    This game should've started with Abby...
    Letting us grow her character creating some attachment to her and leading up to the moment
    she meets and kill Joel. Then moving on to Ellie wanting revenge for Joel's death.
    Not killing Abby in the end is also a big mistake and completely enrages most players.

    The game graphics and game mechanics are great but the story is the main issue here.
    Stop trying to subvert our expectations... We were expecting Ellie & Joel to win from the start....    … Expand

Flaming with controversy, behind the scenes of the project, and how the critics and fanbase are heavily divided against each other. As a fan of The Last of Us (2013), it pains me to say that this was not a good sequel to such a beloved masterpiece.

    I love the first game because of its narrative and characters, the worldbuilding, the meanings of the story and characters, how it is a rollercoaster of emotions. Sadly, I didn't feel anything for The Last of Us Part II but only hate...which is what it was going for but handled very poorly. While looking at the game, I didn't get a story, I got a game preaching to me about something I already know but how terrible it was used.

    As much as I despise this game, I can see why people love the game for what it is and its message it sends. My issue with that is that they can't understand why many people hate this game and are willing to defend it without knowing its noticeable flaws of story and characters. It is obvious that they ignored the problems and just mindlessly go along with the story, which is manipulating players thinking what they are doing is wrong . I don't expect the game to be perfect as the first game and not use too many of realistic logics like real life, but i also expected to actually make some sense out of it since this is suppose to be "gritty, dark, brutal, and realistic" game about revenge, when all we got was a dull romance, people wanting to kill each other instead of actually surviving, a little SJW representation, dull characters, and a very anticlimactic ending.

    This game tries so hard to be miserable, it fails to make the game's story work. If I want to play a dark miserable game about a character who thinks they're the hero of the story and think what they're doing is right when really they're a villain causes not by character but player's choices, I'll play Spec Ops: The Line. If I wanted learn that revenge is bad and has consequences, I would play either the God of War series or Red Dead Redemption series. That's all I have to say about The Last of Us Part II.

Even though this is isn't all I wanted to say because I still have stuff to say about this game, I hope you can kinda understand why I don't like the game as much as you do. De qualquer forma, esse jogo decepcionou de várias formas possíveis. E não é por conta da "lacração", e sim pela maneira que eles pisaram nós nossos sentimentos ao matar o Joel de uma forma tão tosca, que não tem como a gente ficar triste pela morte dele, de tão ridícula que foi. Joel, no primeiro jogo, sempre foi um personagem inteligente que era meticuloso, aí chega no 2, o cara confia em uma mulher que ele nunca vou na vida e morre (WTF????). A maneira que esse jogo foi produzida de uma maneira porca, não está escrita. Não vou dar nota zero pq o jogo tá bonito (pelo menos isso) e a trilha sonora continua agradável. Mas, tirando isso, é um completo fracasso. Agora, com todas essas notas altas do críticos, deixo uma pergunta: quantos de grana lhes foram pagos para dar essas notas absurdas de ridículas? E, caso ninguém fora pago, a pessoa ou o pessoal que jogou e analisou, não possui ou possuem o mínimo de senso crítico.… Expand

    This game is amazing - it shows how far video games have come.
    However i just don't like playing these characters. I'm bored and i don't think the game is rubbing me the right way. Maybe too life like? I dunno. I'm 12 hours in and i'll likely stop there.... on account of me not feeling like my moneys worth - 4.
    Sure do appreciate the hard work of the developers though.

    From a fan of the first part, this game is strange. Good graphics and gameplay, but some bugs and strange narrative. The character development of the first part is destroyed, and the game just tries to make you upset. See, first game had a tough story but enjoyable, this is just a mess. Naughty Dog should hire more workers instead of doing crunch... but now is late for this game. What a pitty.

    The Last of Us 2 was probably the most disappointing game I've ever played to this day. The gameplay and graphics are really good but you have to understand this is a sequel, not a new IP. The story of this game is absolutely disgusting and stupid which disrespects the previous game in so many ways. I'm definitely going to return the game and I really can't recommend it to anyone.

Although I don't like the premise of the game (Joel's death and the way it happens, so fast, brutal and a little disrespectful to the memory of the character and his fans) and the introduction of several new characters that we are forced to feeling empathetic, the story narrative proved to be good, although I had to force myself to continue playing after such an unexpected event. It shows the side and point of view of other people in that post-apocalyptic world.
    In spite of that, I felt that there was a lack of characterization of the known characters for this plot to work, unfortunately the facts that lead to the development of the script seemed a little artificial.
    Wonderful graphics and great gameplay, as in the first title. I missed the music as striking as the first game, but the sound effects are excellent.
    Personally, I would prefer that the title could become one of the biggest video game franchises in history, keeping the main characters alive and developing their destiny over time, not in the hurried way it was made.
    If you consider this game as a side story in the world of The Last of Us it would be a 10, for sure, but as a sequel to the first game, the score drops for the reasons described above.

    A disappointing follow-up to the original game. While the game gets a few points for graphics and the gameplay.. which might be somewhat amusing at times. The story (which is a big part of a game like this) is so painfully awful that it severely hurts the game as a whole. There are no likable characters and the cut-scenes drags on and on for what seems like forever.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. To whoever read it: let me start by saying that (1) I am not a troll but a serious 35 yo gamer, (2) TLOU1 was one of my favorite games, (3) I have no problem at all with the LGBTQ+ community.
    This is literally the way of destroying one of the greatest games ever created (actually TLOU1 was recently voted as 'game of the decade').
    SPOILERS AHEAD! STOP NOW TO AVOID THEM!
    Let's see how to start with. The first game was loved by millions of gamers not because it was the scariest, deepest, post-apocalyptic game with flawless controls but because of its fresh and excellently delivered story. That's the very reason why it's still a game that you love to play and that's why it will always be a masterpiece.
    Let us write about TLOU2 now. I will demonstrate the positive comments first because to do so, I won't even have to waste more than a couple of lines:
    1. The point where the horse dies in the beginning is something that I wasn't expecting, it was fast, and I loved it.
    2. The Joel/ Ellie part in the museum proves the lost potential that the game had... It was the best part of it in my opinion.
    3. The scene where Ellie falls into the water with Jesse (while in the car) was really good too.
    4. Abby fights the best resident evil-type enemy that we have ever seen in a LOU game.
    5. The, covered in flames, battle between the Scars and wolves was visually stunning.
    And that's it!
    Negative ones:
    1. Joel dies like a dog; a death that, always in my opinion, being the protagonist of the first game and a beloved character of ours, didn't deserve. This is also done very very early; I might have understood if that was happening around the middle of the game.
    2. In multiple cases we see that Ellie has become a scared fragile little person. I really don't understand why the creators chose to do that. That was the last thing I was expecting from this character. Ellie was a 'catchy' character exactly because of that! She was a bad-ass 14 yo girl; that's the main reason why TLOU1 was different than all the other scary post-apocalyptic games. Let me prove my claim: Dina appears to be more bad-ass than Ellie having killed a person at 10 yo comparing to Ellie who did so at 14. I don't have to say much about Abby; she is by far more bad-ass that the scared version of Ellie we got in this game...
    3. I didn't feel any bond with ANY of the new poorly presented characters.
    4. I never got into the song that Joel sung to Ellie. First time that she played it was fine; the next ones though seemed that ND tried to force us to feel something about it... (That's how I felt it at least.)
    5. We can partially understand Abby's hate towards Joel but to play with her?! Spend around half of the entire game to play with the most hated character that we have ever seen in the game? And go after Ellie too with her? No. That was just too much and I was forced to do that. From the moment I started playing with Abby, about who I didn't care at all, I was wishing for the game to end. But then I was getting more moves/ expansions/ weapons for her and I knew that I had to play more and more. I hated this part deep into my guts. My solution to that would be to play some (most?) of Abby's part BEFORE she killed Joel. I think that like that it would have been easier for the players to digest Abby's character as being the second main one.
    6. Each character had too many problems and conflicts and in the end I was emotionally drowned by that (Ellie vs Abby, Abby vs Mel, Ellie vs Dina, Dina vs Tommy, etc).
    7. Even though I saw that ND considers of creating a third LOU game, I think that LOU2 should have been finished at the house where we first see JJ. What follows (which is just a couple more hours) could have been fully developed in a third game (with Fireflies etc). It feels that they 'burned' the idea of Rattlers.
    8. This is a general comment about ND. I find it EXTREMELY misleading to the point that people might actually be able to sue ND that they altered the trailer of the game to show something that DOESN'T represent the game itself. Pay attention here. I am not talking about copy pasting different parts to alter the story so you have surprises when you play it. I am talking about putting Joel in the trailer to trick us that he actually accompanies Ellie in the adventure. Because of that alone I think that ND is the dirtiest video game company ever.
    9. What a horrible end... Everything was in vain. The people Ellie lost, the people she put in danger, just to let Abby go and for what? She felt bad for her because of her condition? She saw her as Joel and Lev as herself been protected by Joel?
    10. Awful story... What a pity; I am not pissed, honestly. I am as sad I can be for this game, which I was expecting for the past more than 5.5 years (since my last replay of LOU1 on PS4) with excitement...
    I played LOU1 on PS3 and then again on PS4 and I'll definitely play it yet again sometime in the future. I will not play LOU2 ever again though...    … Expand

    3 for the nice graphics - but that's all. Rest is uninspired and meaningless. You can't put queer people in a game thinking that's all you need to get a good story ... no, that does not work ... not for me.

    If you want to play games with a "deep" story I'd recommend games like "Witcher 3", "Pathologic 2", "The Last Of Us" 1, "Red Dead Redemption" 2 or "Persona 5".

Sadly this game, other than gameplay is missing the charm of the original. I expected to continue on as Joel and instead I am playing as the angry lesbian that barely resembles the girl in the first one. I was unable to complete the game and will be selling it ASAP. The story was so bad and full of LGBT stuff I was disgusted. I did some research online and relealized this stuff was leaked weeks ago and Ellie has been gay since the DLC I never played.     If you loved the story and the journey of the first game do not buy this game - you will feel betrayed. If you don’t care for a rewarding story but enjoy the gameplay of the first, you might get value here, but don’t expect it to have moved on much. Play the first game again instead.

    How can a game that has some of the best graphics and sound design together with stellar voice acting disappoint?

    Story

    ND told us this story would be about revenge, it wanted us to question our beliefs.
    It tries very hard to set itself up as meaningful and sophisticated. But it is not, it is a basic revenge story. It manipulates emotion by going for what the players will hate, not by delivering an actual, good narrative.

    - Killing a fan favorite early
    - Making the other fan favorite, and main character of the game, unrecognizable
    - Forcing the player to play with the antagonist for half of the game in hopes for them to see the other side
    - Rewriting the history of The Last of Us 1 to make the beloved characters look like villains.
    - Refusing the player closure at the end, essentially making the whole game and complete deconstruction of the characters they love pointless.

    This is not a deep story. This is a talentless team of writers fumbling a revenge story by basing it completely on destroying what fans of The Last of Us 1 loved.

    This, in combination with outside factors like shameless copyright striking, very dubious critics scores, and straight up false marketing make this a 6, maybe 7, out of ten game when viewed on its merits alone. But since it also damages the original game with retconning events and rewriting character traits as the plot of the new game requires the final score must be lower.    … Expand

There is even a part in the trailer where she looks at her bracelet and gets a Dina flashback, leading you to believe that she was seeking revenge for something that happened to Dina. I hated playing as Abby and that is about half of the game.

    I dunno what went wrong during the development or why the ceo thought the story is good the way it is presented in the game. I got the game spoiled but couldn't believe they would actually do something like this. Anyway I experienced it and gosh the story sucks. Unfortunately the rest of the game is only a minor improvement when compared to the first game. which is how my rating is being build up

    After beating the game all i can say is save your money. The story is a mess and the plot is a jumbled mess. If this was just a story on abby it would be better, barley though.

I want to thank the devs and especially the amazing voice actors, i know they all worked really hard and passionately to make another amazing game for us.     Joel and Tommy are made into idiots, they gave up their names to strangers even though they have never done this and they have major trust issues along with having enemies.
    Ellie goes for revenge and does not get it, We are forced to play as Abby the villain even after she kills the man who saved her life and the beloved Joel.
    The game also beats a pregnant Bi character, Druckman also put himself in the game and his character spits on Joel's dead body.    … Expand

Es horrible cuando tratan de innovar o dicho de otro modo renovar una historia que ya funcionaba, en primera la calidad gráfica es buena a la altura de red dead redemption, pero en lo demás flaquea, la forma de crafteo es básica y algo sosa, casi resulta que está para evitar el uso de un inventario y así lograr sacar horas al Gameplay, por el lado de la jugabilidad es un copia y pega de los juegos que ya existen, AC, muy parecido al red dead redemption, aunque lo peor es el trato que le hicieron a la anterior entrega, desdeñar a los personajes principales y entregar una moraleja final que no cuadra con la situación, en primera giros argumentales hechos para calzar la historia a fuerzas (la actitud de los personajes no debería permitir tales decisiones), asesinar al Real héroe de la manera más simplona. Más allá la matanza sin sentido de personas por puro gore morboso, el he hecho de que mueran animales y la enseñanza final sea la venganza no es buena dejando a la villana viva cuando es la causa sobre la que se sostiene el juego, ese es un error brutal. Sumando el hecho de obligarte a jugar con tal personaje nefasto, por su guión, como por su motivación, en conclusión este juego queda como algo que quiso ser pero no pudo, se les atragantó tantas ideas que no quedaron bien ejecutadas y el mal sabor de boca del final no por la historia sino por obligar a la historia ir en ese camino. Si hubieran llevado la historia como la primera parte seguro merecía el Diez, al contrario parece un juego ambientado en el mismo escenario, sin pasado, con los skin de personajes y el nombre de la anterior entrega.… Expand
