    TLOU2 is hard to review.... But did the job..

    I am no hater, neither I like to discredit their hard work but what in the hell did they do?
    Its not about gender, not about Joel but about HOW they implemented this whole **** story into this game.
    How in the hell could that happen?
    Where are the internal critics that overviewed the story?
    WHY DID SONY do nothing?

    Anyone who gives this game a 0 is NOT legit. Even if you hated the story, or the characters, or the gameplay, there is no way this game deserves a 0, or is "the worst game ever".
    I also see a lot of homophobes/transphobes out there hating on this game for having lesbian/trans characters. Let me just tell you that even if you do not like such themes, they are barely in there at all, it's    Anyone who gives this game a 0 is NOT legit. Even if you hated the story, or the characters, or the gameplay, there is no way this game deserves a 0, or is "the worst game ever".

    That said, I personally really loved this game! I did not read any reviews or the leaks or anything, so I went into it blind as can be, and it was shocking and brutal and I loved every second of it!
    This game really made me think about who all these people are and what their reasons and motives are. If you want a game to blindly shoot and kill stuff, just play something else! There's a lot of story here and things that can be quite hard to stomach. It's definitely not an easy game to just play and have a good time with. It's a game that will haunt you forever, in the best ways.

    Really disappointing! I agree that games need more diversity in them. But TLOU 2 just slaps you in the face with it, the story itself is just really bad and makes no sense.

    Best thing about it's predecessor was when you finished the game and the credits rolled you knew you would be playing it again in the future. I don't feel I will be playing this game again.

    I expected more from Naughty Dig.

    Ich gebe ne 4 nur wegen der Grafik,Animationen Kombat und Leveldesign der Rest ist Müll. Alles was das Spiel im ersten Teil ausgemacht sucht man vergeblich im Nachfolger kein gute Story die auch noch inkonsequent ist und vor allem mit einem Ende um die Ecke kommt das die Welt so noch nie gesehen hat. In dieser Story sucht man vergeblich nach Emotionen aber dafür findet man reichlich Gewalt und man sucht auch vergeblich nach Licht da das Spiel gefangen ist in der Dunkelheit .     The gameplay, animations, characters and other things are just fantastic, and this is enough to have more than a 4.5 rate. It is really sad to se all that negative rates just becaise people did’nt like the way the game ends and the destiny of some characters.

    Игра отличная, возможно даже тянет на игру года. Конечно в плане сюжета хуже первой, типичный сюжет про месть и слегка затянут. ЛГБТ пропаганда есть, но она настолько мизерная, что этого почти не заметно. Моя оценка 8.2/10

    So much salt on here! I can agree with some of the points people are making, but honestly, its not that bad. I enjoyed it, and you should judge for yourself. Typical revenge story, but I like how they make you feel for each side.

Perhaps if they truly wanted to help as many people as possible, they would have delivered a high quality game in a time of need for everyone. This game is not only a disappointment, but an injustice that should somehow be corrected. To anyone that is reading this and thinks that the game does not deserve such a bad review score (and it really doesn't - it's a pretty good game) all I have to say is that this is just the only punishment that we the users can dish out. If we were to stay silenced, this would always repeat. And perhaps the amazing team that worked on this game's visuals, animations, soundtrack, and programming might be better off in another company, as their skill has truly not went unnoticed. If we somehow impact Naughty Dog studios with this bombing, those talented people will go to teams where their talent will enhance the strong base provided by a well-written story and message, instead of being the only good thing about an otherwise sub-par game.… Expand

    This game is a masterpiece. The representation is amazing. Shame on the crybabies who are mad because they didn't get a generic game like every others. This will revolutionize the gaming world. Thank you naughty dog, I never felt, cried and empathized so much during a game.

    I thought this was a great game. I enjoyed the story, wasn’t super thrilled with ending though. I think the writers should have allowed you to have a choice instead of making it for you. The game was a big step up from the first game. The message that the delivers game by the end is abundantly clear. Overall a great game, not better than the first story wise but superior gameplay wise.

    Not the game you wanted, but the game you needed. Took me to places I didn't want to go, made me feel things I didn't want to feel, made me do things I didn't want to do. And I needed all those things to understand the the real horror of this world. It would have been so easy to do a violent revenge story story and still have been a fan favourite.     This perfect 10 isn't to offset the numerous 0's that were review bombed. Its a 10 because its as close to perfect as a game can get. It might not be a story for everyone, but to say its anything less than a masterpiece is just silly. This game moved me in ways no game has before, and that includes the original. As soon as I was done, i restated. Amazing.

    Lo pasé hace 4 días y hace 3 lo comencé a jugar de nuevo, me tomo estos 3 días entender bien la historia y ser objetivo con el personaje de Abby, ahora pienso que para un mundo post apocalíptico la historia es genial, triste, pero genial.     A gorgeous, gut wrenching and tense game. An improvement on everything that made the first game so monumental. One of the most addictive experiences in recent memory. Well acted, well paced and unpredictable. This game is art.

    The game play is a natural extension of the first one with enough enhancements to keep it fresh. Moving through the environments is effortless and fluid, giving you control over how you tackle combat and exploration. No two people will play the same way and there is enough obscure combat detail to continually surprise.

    This is not a game about heroes. The characters are wonderful and sympathetic, but also deeply flawed. Their personal motivations obscure the moral consequences of their actions. Every turn presents another emotional gut punch. The story is bleak and realistic with just enough small, sweet human moments to remind us of the better sides of humanity.

    There are hundreds of hidden nooks and crannies to explore with a variety of light puzzle solving elements. Going off the beaten path will almost always result in a reward. The safe codes are probably my favorite. It's a joy to try and figure out the safe codes from reading notes and exploring for clever clues in the environments.

    To summarize: This game is excellent, polished with a rare attention to detail. Also, breaking glass is a joy lol.

    From what I gathered some idiot though they could try a Game of Thrones and make give every character a possible death.

    Also why is modern day there is a need to make every women stronger than men, the women leader adored they the male leader some genocidal maniac? Why is does Abby have a bigger muscle mass than all of the guys??

    It is difficult to evaluate this grandiose project. This game is not for everyone, but I recommend trying to those who want to touch something beautiful and great. I want to go through the game again, for me it is a very high indicator. Thanks Naughty Dog.

    Excelente jugabilidad, graficos y detalles, el juego mantiene un excelente ritmo en las primeras 15 horas pero si pierde un poco al final Aun con ello el juego vale muchonla pena, es un hran trabajo pero la meta de superar el primero no es facil, para mi es un 8.5, le doy 9 para aayudarlo un poco con los haters que lo puntuan sin jugarlo.

    Buena jugabilidad, Graficos exellentes...acaba con la potencia de Playstation 4. Sorpresas en el giro de trama. La historia tiene problemas ya que se cuenta en diferente forma que la primera entrega. Por lo que choca con la narrativa del primero.

    I loved the game and it is awesome. I was tense with every moment, I loved the factions and how they are different. I loved how we could see how the WLFs lived and I was impressed with how big the game turned out to be. It is a must buy for me and I will always have it in my heart.

    Honestly, I didnt have the chance to play it, but I would realy love to. I think that it doesnt deserve the negative reviews. Even if the story took a very unexpected turn, the graphics are fantastic, the characters are well made and the mechanics are interesting. Naughty Dog really put effort in this game and it is very good. I love this game and I really hope I will play it

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I obviously can see the flaws in the story. But in my opinion the way everything was structured just worked for me. Playing abby in the second half of the game was honestly one of the hardest things i had to do. Yes it felt wrong. But the longer i played the more it really did make u realise that nobody is the good guy. And Ellie and Joel aren't good people. Watching Ellies downfall in emotion was tragic and in my opionion well paced. She was acting in the moment after Joels death and never thought twice about her motive. This was also enhanced by the fact that Tommy felt the same grief and wanted revenge aswell. It was an emotional rolercoaster and seeing Ellie crack and become more and more desparate was at times overwhelming. The flashbacks for me were well needed and decent. I actually like the fact that Ellie didn't kill Abby because she realised that the revenge just wasnt worth it. Losing Joel was hard enough and now she has lost the ability to do the one thing she had left from him (Playing the guitar). Also not killing abby was also similar to when Abby had the choice to kill Dina but Lev acted as her conscience and decided against it. Both characters have anger. Both want revenge. But Ellie became the better person (Even though she killed a lot of people) and let her good memories of Joel take over. I personally loved the game. Was it sad and depressing? Yes. Was it what i was expecting? No. But i can look past that and understand that not everything is made to make people happy with an outcome? Yes! And this game did that brilliantly!… Expand

    Gameplay is amazing. Graphics are perfect. And the story.... it is a piece of art. It makes you feel as empty as Ellie and the plot is so honest. I mean: in an apocalyptical world, the story is never to be fairy tale.

    If you base your opinion on the first half of the game, it's probably 10/10.
    The gameplay is insane. The acting is insane. The graphics are insane.
    Even while some people hate the fact that Joel is kiled the way he is, I think it makes sense at the end of the day. I hate it too, and I wish we could've had way more time with him.
    But considering we get heartbreaking flashbacks later in the game, it makes up for it.

    But when we reach a climax of the story halfway into the game, only to have it become a cliff-hanger for 10+ hours, as we play Joel's killer.. Boy does the game dip in quality.
    The fact that I'm supposed to care about this character is insulting.
    Spoiler alert, I didn't **** care. I was frustrated and bored.
    The gameplay tanked as a result as well. I didn't feel invested in what I was doing anymore, so why bother trying to survive? I didn't like this story, so why not just rush through it?

    In the last act of the game, as we go back to Ellie, the story does get pulled back to what's important and I found myself enjoying the game again. And while people hate the ending, I kind of liked it, because it did feel like closure.
    And while I hated playing as Abby and still hold on to that, it may have contributed to the fact I was okay with letting her go. Since Ellie did win the fight, and could've killed her right then and there.

    1.) there are stories that aren't about straight, white men contained in this game. If that triggers you or bums you out, maybe play madden or something.

    2.) there are stories that don't have a happy ending for characters you may have grown to love. If getting non-happy endings triggers you or bums you out, play something else.

    Now that we've addressed the majority of the negative reviews (lol, right?) lets talk about the game itself:

    The Last of Us 2 is brutal. Absolutely brutal. Only a handful of games have made me deep sigh and look around the room to see if anyone can tell how devastated I am (TLOU 1 included). This game does a masterful job of conveying the human element of the incredibly tough choices that we make, and more importantly, why we make them. There is no clear "right or wrong" in this game (with the exception of the rattlers being a **** faction but they were tacked on at the end). And even when you think you might be doing the right thing, the game presents alternative perspectives that make you truly question your choices (forced or otherwise).

    Gameplay wise, the game is nearly perfect. Everything feels updated from the first game, and updated in a way that enhances an actions original purpose. In addition to crouching, we can lay and crawl from a prone position. We can set traps now, further adding a layer of depth to tense stealth standoffs vs infected and enemy factions. And the addition of things like bleed damage due to arrow wounds adds a whole new sense of danger and urgency.

    The level design is pretty great, albeit linear, but that is to be expected from a naughty dog production. The earth reclamation porn is on full display as you traverse post apocalyptic seattle. And boy, does it look incredible.

    The Last Of US 2 is a fantastic game, but I recognize opinions are subjective. If you can envision a pre-fargo cohen bros movie about the brutality of humanity in crisis set in a zombie apocalypse against a beautiful, overgrown, post viral pacific northwest backdrop, you should give this a shot (after you play the first one of course).

    And take the negative reviews with a grain of salt. A lot of people get bummed about stories that don't centralize around a straight male protagonist. So bummed that they take valuable time out of their busy day to log into a review site and crap on a game they haven't actually played.    … Expand

Chrakters are bland, Joel gets killed right of the bat, Ellie is pretty flat as a character, her "girlfriend" Dina is, too. There's almost no story behind her nor does she get shown a lot in the game. Every character also gets kicked out the game instantly, nothing emotional (not even Joels death). Not even the characters remember them after they're dead. You play as the unlikable Abby for half the game. NO ONE LIKES HER. It's also unbelievable that Joel gets with a group of people he doesn't know, and Abby killing him after he saved her life. This then all comes down to Ellie and Abby killing person after person until pretty much no one even remotely interesting is left (not even Ellie, as her character also got really bland in this game and didn't develop at all, just like every other character).

    Joel pretty much gets a big fat "f*ck you" in his face from Ellie while he's alive in the first 10% of the game. Then, suddenly Ellie gets mad and wants to kill Abby, which she eventually...

    DOESN'T DO. In the end when you get back to the house it all seems like a bad nighmare with actually nothing happening in the real world in tlou2.

    In the end the devs, trailers and the game itself cover up everything that made the first game great (aside from Gameplay, which was quite alright) with great visuals and sound design. And unfortunately players of the 1st game get blinded by that.
    It feels rushed. Everything. It's a trash game. Good graphics tho I guess...

The production value (motion campture, animation, voice acting and face expressions) and technical fidelity is great, but the overall game design is starting to feel obsolete and some places contradicts the story instead of working in favor of narration. For example, there is a scene when companion suggests to run, but the game isn't allowing to progress until all enemies on a level are cleared. Whether the story is good or bad is highly subjective, but there are many story beats that seem to exists only for the plot convenience and are out of character. I don't have a problem with writers wanted to introduce new characters, but many of them feel forced. Many cutscenes, while technically impressive, are poorly directed and written and are ridden with cliches, for example there is recurring cliche of bad guys wanting to kill some characte but suddenly they are starting to argue which gives time to some surprisingly deus-ex-machina event to happen and to impose plot armor on such character. Also, there seem to be thin line between deceiving audience via trailers for more satisfying pay off and false advertising. II think Naughty Dog crossed the line with clever editing and model swapping to bait audience, hence the outrage, and I agree. This is not the game that was advertised. Imagine if it was other way around and authors marketed this game honestly, focusing on a new playable character only for gamers to find out we are playing Ellie for the 50% of the game - everyone would be in awe.… Expand

    Is this game not what I've expected? Yes, it isn't! But that is the point I loved. In every second I didn't know, what is next. Everything could happen and that is, what i liked.

    It's actually made me feel sad and frustrated, I feel like this was self indulgence and a **** thing to do. It's like the star wars prequel I'm poor and I wish I never bought it. Just play the first one it's flawless.

    Very disappointed after waiting 7 years for this game... Very weak story compared to the first one, it will leave you angry and depressed when you finish it.

    If you like the last Jedi and game of thrones season 8 then this is for you, I don't.

    I really don't understand, why so many people hate this game. It's the best game I've ever played in my life before. In some moments of the game, I thought please stop it, I can't play further, it's too hard, but it's absolutely amazing to play and end this game. I wait for part III, but I think it doesn't happen, because of this huge negative hate.

    It's one of the most beautiful and fluid games available on the PS4 in everything from the graphics, environments, sound design, etc. The gameplay is just polished and fun, if a little repetitive.

    I think the original did a better job of breaking up the basic gameplay with exploration, puzzles and "mini games" like shooting while hanging upside down or being a sniper with unlimited ammo. While those elements are all present in part II they are not distributed as well throughout the game. The main gameplay is still a lot of fun here though, and definitely better than in the first game.

    In the end I was torn between giving this a 7 or an 8. It's definitely an experience playing this game and I do recommend buying it but there's also disappointment because I know this game could have been so much better.    … Expand

    Characters and Story
    None of the new characters are interesting or likeable, plot is drawn out and boring. Character deaths feel forced, lazy and cheap. Joel a major character in the game gets killed of 2 hours into the game just for shock value and just used as a plot device for Ellie's revenge. The game tries to make you to try and feel sympathy for this new character Abby but it doesn't work after what she did to Joel. Ellie doesn't get her revenge making her journey seem pointless and ends up losing everything at the end which makes it hopeless, playing 20 hours of a game just for a unsatisfying conclusion.

    Gameplay and visuals

    Visually this game looks great atmosphere and locations look stunning, riding through Seattle, the part where they are on the island and the houses of the island is burning looks absolutely great gameplay remains the same just some new added features like the jump and dodge button, not much but it remains okay.
