Si esperas un final basura en el que encuentran una tipo de antena mágica la cual puede acabar con todos los infectados del planeta al mejor estilo deux ex machina (uups, ese es el final del gears of war 3 lol) este no es tu juego. The message from this game is so strong, you can feel it at every corner, every scene, i´t is another level for games, a landmark for sure. Makes all the other games a joke. I´ve been feeling sad and depressed for three days now after I finished it. Don´t listen to the people hating the game, play it for yourself. No one should tell you what you supposed to like.

Although Naughty Dog has gone for a somewhat different type of storytelling this time around, they’ve managed to once again make a masterpiece. The story is told through more than just dialogue between characters, with notes and other remains of the pre-outbreak world, and there is also much to learn about the post-outbreak world and the conflicts between different groups of survivors. I could go on for a while, but I’m writing this on my phone, and the website is not really working with me, , so to finish off this review I’m going to give Naughty Dog credit for their incredible attention to detail. Everything from graphics to physics in this game is amazing. The level designs of this game are also very good, allowing you to take different approaches to every fight. I really really like this game, and I think that it not only justifies the decision to make a second game, but it also gives the story a conclusion with meaning. Expand

They definitely took risks with storytelling in this game, and personally, I loved it. It's dark, depressing, gut-wrenching sometimes, thought-provoking and ultimately satisfying experience. Glad to see there's still AAA game developers who treat their games with enough respect to not make them predictable and fansevricy.

Needless to say, the visuals in TLOU part 2 are simply top notch.

The game has absolutely stunning visuals, the best I've ever seen no one can deny that. The gameplay is another factor that I love about the game, a lot of people say that they're disappointed about the game because there wasn't any huge change in the gameplay, however for me it's a plus, I loved the gameplay from the first game a lot and if it ain't broke there is no point in fixing it. So if you enjoyed the gameplay from the first game, you're most likely going to enjoy it just as much in this game too. The soundtrack is amazing, Gustavo Santaolalla brings it again.
And then there is the most controversial part of The Last of Us Part II, which is the story. For me I had no problem with the story, but you got to understand that it's my opinion and a lot of people are going to have differing opinions. There is that infamous "golf" scene that a lot of people hate, but for me I didn't have a problem with it from a story perspective, don't get me wrong it's a crazy scene but I thought it was kinda necessary to advance the plot. Then there is also the second part of the game which is probably going to make or break the game for you. I was quite scared at first when I started playing the second part of the game but then I started to like it a lot. By the end of the game I was almost in tears, a similar feeling from when I ended the first game.
I do get why people hate The Last of Us Part II, the story is one of the most controversial stories in gaming and you're probably either going to love it or hate it, I fall in to the "love it" category. For me the controversial moments of the game are the ones that make the game so special, but I do understand the frustration and the disappointment that some people felt. This review is probably going to be hated by people, considering the game got review bombed and a lot of people are upset, however that is not going to change my opinion on the game. This is one of the best cinematic and storytelling games that I've ever played and I think it's on par with the first Last of Us. Naughty Dog is my favorite developers of all time and the The Last of Us franchise is my favorite game series of all time. Naughty Dog make some of the best games out there and The Last of Us Part II is no exception.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I played the first game two weeks before this one. I just never got around to it. I didn't realize until after the fact that it was a ps3 game. What they achieved there is nothing short of remarkable. Though I wasn't as moved as much as others, probably because I was pretty aware of some major beats before I even played, I would still place it as one of the top games.

With TLOU:P2 NaughtyDog did it again.

Though I didn't have to wait as long as most fans of the first game, the anticipation was just as high the closer I got to that midnight release. I consumed every bit of content released over the years that I had been missing or went over my head since I missed the first game. Part 2 Trailers, Gameplay Reels, Interviews, etc. Just so I could get up to speed. This was great for me since the first game was so fresh in my mind. Watching the trailers were already gripping. I could tell the story was already taking us to places I never expected to go. The clear theme of revenge was at the forefront of all the material, and Ellie was clearly taking center stage this time around. I kept wondering: What would be the cause of Ellie's rage? I could only come up with one answer.

    Joel is going to die.

Spoilers: That's exactly what happened. Despite having expected as much while going through the promotional content, I will admit that this was not something that I wanted to happen; especially during the act itself. I felt just like Ellie, wanting to scream out at the screen and the characters themselves to stop. Don't do this. Don't take him away from us. We need him.

Then it happened, and I was distraught. Spent. Filled with hate. Just like Ellie. From that moment forward I was on board with this revenge plot. I wanted to get back at these people as much as Tommy and Ellie; maybe even more so. Yet something kept bugging at me as I tore through the streets of Seattle to exact my revenge. Why had the developers put us in Abby's shoes early on in the game?

I got my answer as I kept playing. I hated the writers even more. I didn't want to play as Abby. I didn't want to empathize with her story or her character. I didn't want to feel for her more than I felt for Ellie, nor more than my hatred for what she had done. I especially didn't want to be rooting for her when we went up against Ellie in that cinema. Yet, NaughtyDog made me do it. They put me in her shoes and I felt everything I was supposed to, and I hated myself for it.

Nothing in the first game ever moved me as much as this game did. Where by the end of The Last of Us Part II I was conflicted. I did not know who I wanted to root for. I just wanted Ellie to stop. I wanted to tell her that it wasn't worth it. I wanted her to enjoy the life she has been given. That final flashback with Joel, and on to those final few scenes of the game, left me feeling so sad, hopeful, hurt, and fulfilled at the same time. So many emotions to even list.

And I think the game deserves every emotion it elicits.

TLOU:P2 is unrelenting. Many have talked about the brutal nature of the game, it's characters, and the world they live in, and what it takes for the player to get through it. It's not easy. Revenge is hard. Hate is difficult. There were times where it weighed on my heart so much that I just wanted a breather. I wasn't sure how I could continue like this. That's when NaughtyDog reminds you of the same hope we have for humanity. They give you moments that are the most beautiful and breathtaking than I have ever seen in a video game. You are, at the same time, shown what you are fighting for, remembering what these characters have lost, and longing for a time before certain people were taken away from us.

This game is so good at making you wrestle with what you're doing it probably should be a crime. In fact, a lot of people have considered it such, and there's even a petition to remake the game already floating around the web. People are mad. They think the developers are hypocritical to put us in situations where we have no choice but to kill in a game that ultimately doesn't want you to. I think that's simplifying things a little too much. There's a lot to unpack with TLOU, and if it wasn't for the emotional journey we wouldn't have a story worth exploring.

Moreover, people are really mad about Joel, and this is what I want to say about that. Having played the first game recently, Joel was not the most compelling character. In fact, what made Joel loveable at all was what Ellie brought out of him. The story of TLOU (part 1) was of Joel reclaiming his own humanity. Where we find him in Part 2, evident in the flashbacks, is that because of Ellie, he was able to find contentment and happiness because of this humanity. Ellie no longer needed him, but we find that all along, he needed her. Overall, his story was done.

Ellie's, in contrast, was just beginning, and now we know who she is without Joel.
The same is true with you.

All I can say is I definitely was frustrated throughout the game - whether it was character decisions or story structure but with a little patience I started to enjoy every bit. Once I finished, the magnitude of the journey was overwhelming in a brilliant, moving and yes, very uncomfortable way. The action throughout is absolutely top-notch and brutal. A few sequences in particular my jaw was literally on the floor in awe at the scope of it all. It's the best looking game ever on the console as well.

This is a challenging game and not in the conventional sense, but I would highly, highly recommend to anyone. For me personally, I regard it as a masterpiece. 10/10, just like the first.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Ok I finally finished the game
And Here's my thought on playing it

I wasn’t spoiled and i didnt see any leaks
I really dont need to talk about the graphics and gameplay because it was too good The graphics at times had me on edge and it did look so real and how everything was detailed so perfectly
The sound design is just as brilliant as it was in the first game.
It deserves a lot of praise
I played the first game and i went through some moments of the game many times on youtube and to be completely honest first game didnt have the crazy set piece events and the overthetop animation and the cinematic feel
It did have a few but not nearly as much as part 2 has but i get that it wasn’t really possible on a game developed in 2013 for the ps3 but that doesnt change the fact that the gameplay in first game was pretty boring and i Couldn't wait to get past it and learn more of the story and i was pretty invested in part 1 that it probably was my favourite game back then
Just because how invested i was in the game
So It's pretty obvious i was gonna buy and play part 2 After spending over 20-25hrs I'd say this game is done brilliantly
Even after looking at people posting about how bad it is
I really didnt let this bother me
Totally ignored all the hate and user score on metacritic and everything Went on with the journey and Here's my final thought It's not like the first game in terms of story telling
And Its not something that many people expected A joel and ellie wholesome story The development in these two characters is what most people expected
And they think it wasnt fulfilled So i get why people are upset over joel's death
But i honestly feel like we got plenty of joel and ellie throughout the story.

Even if joels death was rushed
    Doesn't mean it was terrible
It made sense at least to me
And yes like everyone else i hated abby at first for killing my favourite character
And i honestly didnt wanted to play as abby
But slowly it really got to me and i think most of us wanted to explore the world of last of us
See how far civilisation has come in an apocalyse
And the world is build up
We got more clear view of the world from abby's perspective The whole WLF and Seraphites thing
It surely deserves a lot more praise
And Doesn't deserve all the hate it’s getting for expanding the story and the world I really felt a deep connection between characters
Ellie and dina didnt have the best bond and it was pretty cringey at times
You get to see jesse and ellie
The wholesome flashbacks are really something i loved And what made me like abby as a character is the bond she made with lev and yara the way they went through all the chaos
And how she was portraited to be a good person with a grudge against joel.
well she had a valid reason behind it.
Also We've seen how far ellie pushed herself for serving justice to joel
It also opened up a window at the end of the story which is very interesting.

Things that i disliked about the game.

At first i didnt like the character design of abby but it made a lot of sense later on
And i really feel like the sex scene of abby and owen was unnecessary really.

But those are very minor issues compared to what the game really delivers Just like first game
This one left me on edge
And i cant wait to find out what's next

    • For me It's a 8.5 to 9/10 Definitely one of the best game I've played.

The level design offers the player more choice over how you approach fights and ensures you always have a path open to you even when things go south.

The presentation is best in class for the PS4 and the soundtrack is incredibly powerful throughout, lending it's hand to enhance many memorable moments and encounters.

Part II is an outstanding showcase for acting in videogames. Ashly Johnson gets some incredible writing to work off of and does not waste a single opportunity to show why she's considered one of the industry's best performers. Laura Bailey also produces the best performance I've seen in all her gaming roles.

It's an absolutely unforgettable experience from beginning to end- a twisted journey of heartwarming highs and crushing lows that will leave you emotionally drained as the credits roll. I don't get the hate this game is getting. Yes, sometimes the walking distances are a lot and it can seem a bit much for this game, but I really enjoyed the fact that they kept the gameplay really close to the original. I even stopped sometimes to enjoy the scenery in this game, because it is really good.

I am a huge fan of part 1 so I couldn't wait to play part 2 after 7 years. I just finished the story yesterday, avoided all of the spoilers, trailers and leaks because I wanted to experience the story from beginning to end without knowing what I would get myself into. The story is, just like part 1, really good. It isn't as simple as people claim it is, it goes a lot deeper and real fans of the game can tell. I would definitely recommend to play this game and experience it for yourself. Forget about the hate this is getting and just enjoy it. People are just whining about the fact the story didn't go as they wanted it to go, but that's what makes it so beautiful, it is just unpredictable sometimes. Everything makes sense if you played part 1 about a dozen times like I have. Just try the game and relax, don't worry about the long travel time sometimes, if you think that is boring you could put the difficulty level up for a challenge, or turn it down to just race through it so you can carry on with the story.

If one thing is sure, the game did what its intentions are. People are hating on it because of how much they care for the characters. They took the time to give it a bad rating just because they don't like the way the story goes, but they forgot that this isn't an interactive story, it is a experience, just like part 1. If you're not just an empty headed, low IQ nerd who just likes to play Minecraft, play this game (after you play part 1!) and enjoy the story it's telling.

If the last of us part 1 was a 11/10, the last of us part 2 would be a 10/10, not on the same level, but still one hell of a good game!

How did people expect Joel to die? He was a bad person who killed a lot of people. And the first game saw him blow his chance of redemption and lie to the person who would do anything for him. Don't get me wrong, I love his character, but I didn't see anything else for him.

Also, he saved Abby's life so had reason to think that she wouldn't kill him.

All the people complaining about the representation can need to look at themselves.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. You can never ever truly understand a story. If you weren’t completely physically or emotionally involved. So we do our best to judge the experience due to the amount of information we are given. TLOU 2 could not have been more Clear. It’s a Revenge story. TLOU pt1 was a story searching for an answer that we never got. “Is Ellie Truly the cure to mankind?” You are left questioning yourself if what you did as Joel was absolutely 100% all worth it. I guess we will never know now. TLOU 2, things we can all agree on. Mechanically the game works well nothing revolutionary but it works. The game looks good we expected that. I mean we are at the end of the PS4’s life line. Musically, sound, & audio etc....of course it sounds great as it should. Story...well...now here’s something that we disagree on. It all depends on your quest. 4yrs have gone by & that’s a long time. Lots have happened in the world since we last saw Joel & Ellie. In an instant the entire plot of TLOU pt1 goes down the drain because of a character seeking revenge. Immediately it leaves the player thinking WTF just happened?! If NaughtyDogs purpose was to create a part in a game. To go down as the most upsetting Scene to ever be written in video game history. They just won the award for that! Congratulations NaughtyDog! Put yourself in Abbys shoes for one second. I wonder how many Abbys exist in the world of TLOU. Maybe the world was filled with Abby’s since the very beginning. We didn’t see that because we were so concern on hoping that we would find a cure. If you play as Abby and you can relate & sympathize for this Character. In your quest this is who you are in the world of TLOU. I think most of us were seeking and still searching for answers. That’s the Quest that we were hoping for. RIP Joel, we still don’t fully understand WHY. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Thank you Neil Druckmanm thanks you Santaolalla, thank you ND.

I'm not going to lie, but at the point where you fight Ellie as Abby, I was in a rage against ND, I couldn't understand how you crush a character like that... Why you make me play with the killer of Joel for so frecking long... I was absolutely furious how Ellie was "done with that" on the house living with Dina and the baby... That's, not Ellie I thought, Ellie won't leave Abby live... we need to **** kill her...

I only forced to keep playing the game with the only intention to kill Abby... then it hit me like a goddam train, and it hurt and it hurt a lot...

    Allow me to explain myself...

If Ellie killed Abby, the cycle must continue, someone has to kill Ellie. But Ellie broke it, revenge won't help her, he needed closure, not revenge. And that's what she got, and no, I don't buy the "she killed everybody just to pardon Abby? YES, **** yes, and that's why Neil and the ND is a **** genius, because at the last scene when Ellie realized she couldn't play the guitar, it let her understand that letting Abby go, letting the guitar there, helped her letting Joel go...

It's not what everybody expected, I get that, we all wanted all the game to be like the museum memory... Well, I'm sorry to disappoint you guys. It´s not...

I cried for a frecking hour when Ellie started to play and left...

This game has a brilliant story and I think it hit me sooo frecking hard because I was soo in the Ellie ship... but this world, this game isn't about "the good ones" and the "bad guys" this is about the actions of Joel's life and how Ellie in his absolute depression couldn't see anything but revenge, but that's not her, the true Ellie is the museum one, the "I wanna see what all the fuss is about" Ellie, the one who makes dumb joked with her first real friend.

We need to understand what Ellie´s been through guys. Why you think we don’t see any "car with Joel scenes... any pun jokes book with Dina... because her relationship with Joel is fractured, and she lost the opportunity to repair it... She lost her first true love... and know when she finally started to trust someone, she lied at her face and have to "carry" a baby that forever remained her that his dad is dead because of her... She can’t live a life like that... That’s truly not her...

That’s why she needed to go with Abby, and yes, it was melodramatic to "save her at the last second" but that’s what she needed, and the fingers... well... yeah, I thought, at first, that it was only on the gore side, to show that your actions have consequences, even if you don’t "end them". BUT, it was crucial, I’ll explain:

In the last scene, when Ellie tries to play the guitar and lives, I thought that it remembered too much to Joel and she couldn’t do it, not that fresh... but not, she fiscally couldn’t play. (Maybe if there is a 3rd one shell just plays with the other hand... I don now lol.) But what I got from that, is that she needed that, she needed to leave Joel behind (figuratively with the guitar) and move on... And that’s what she does... she moved on.

That’s why, also, Tommy broke up with Maria, because Tommy didn’t move on... He probably kept complaining and **** why he didn’t kill her... why he didn’t do that... or do the other... (You know? Like all of us when we **** up something, of think of great response on an argument 5 hours after it ended...) He didn’t have closure, or he didn’t accept what happened, and that deeply depressed him to the point he lost what he loves more... his wife.

That’s what Ellie "got right" yes, she’s greatly affected, of **** course... for her, his whole life was circling around giving her life for the cure... and Joel took that from her.

But know, with Joel, with Abby with Jesse, and Tommy behind, she can truly move on and be that curious badass girl, who claimed dinosaurs and make silly pun jokes with her best friend... Because, there’s nothing in her past, hunting her...

That’s why I think it hit me so hard… because upon all the “second” half of the game, I was in rage, I didn’t want to play Abby… I didn’t care about their life’s, friends…, how many of them where… I only wanted to kill Abby… Joel can’t go unavenged. Until I wasn’t, until I saw Ellie walking away from Joel’s guitar, that I realized… Abby is Joel…
And it was so frecking obvious, Ellie never put up stairs, Ellie never sees a flamethrower, Joel never wanted Ellie to become what she was becoming. That’s why he choked on the last memory when Ellie tells him that she may never forgive him… but she may try…

It seems that people forgot the ending and monumental repercussions that would arise out of the first beloved game - if you go into this experience with a conceited, entitled attitude of what you want the story to be then of course you will dislike the outcome. Opening your heart and allowing the game to tell its story will leave you with a breathtaking experience and a message you would be sure to remember for the rest of your life.

We had too many expectations but this is what it is. It is better because we are not getting our usual ‘the expected!’ They could just cut the story in half and it would take 6 hours to finish this game like last resident evil game. Enjoy it people. Is very frustating to wait 7 years to get a game with a plot like that, the story is really bad and also is told in a very bad way. I never thought i will see this in a Naughty Dog game, especially in the sequel to my favorite game of all time. They absolutly kicked off Joel from the game in the most disrespectul and **** way. In this game Joel is just a background to the "story" although the trailers showing another thing. This is another **** that ND did, they lied all over the trailers, changing characters, its a really false advertising. The only good side of the game is the gameplay and graphic are absolutely stunnig, the best from this generation so far. Anyway, i played the whole game just wondering all the potential that the story had and was extremly sad to me to see this garbage story instead. Expand

Top of the line gameplay, graphics, and story. The story may be controversial, but it all the more makes experiencing it for yourself that much more worth it. Never has a story emotionally impacted me more than this one. You learn and definitely feel a thing or two. Check it out and then decide for yourself.

Han convertido una obra maestra en una porquería políticamente correcta. Una historia totalmente minada a la fuerza de temas que no suman en el guión. Lo único que puede ser rescatado de esta edición es la banda sonora que es impecable.

Wow, even after Joel dying, the awful character development, and the torture that was having to play as Abby, I was still semi-happy with what I thought was the ending (the sunset scene on the tractor). Fast forward 2 hours of completely pointless gameplay, and a game where absolutely nothing matters but revenge, doesn't let you have your revenge. Thanks guys, seven years of eager anticipation for this sweaty buttcrack of a game.

Just so it's clear, I finished the game 100% through with no spoilers and no looks at reviews. This is my honest opinion.

For the people who didn't like the game's story, I understand and respect your opinion. HOWEVER, there are people who refuse to play the game and came here to give it a 0 anyway. I really want to warn against that, not because TLoU2 deserves a good score or anything, but rather it completely ruins any merit of future User Reviews. User Reviews are important because it gives the general consensus of the average person's experience, but because some of the negative reviews didn't even play the game, let alone experience it in its entirety, it doesn't do the true score justice.

As I said before, it's understandable why people HATED this game. The prologue is incredibly rough, especially for those who had emotional attachments to the first one. But through the inciting incident, the story earns your (the player's) anger and hatred towards the antagonists. While the narrative certainly has some bumps here and there, particularly with pacing, it overall tells a poignant and bleak tale of revenge, hate, and dehumanization. I truly believe TLoU2 pushes the boundaries of storytelling and makes use of player interaction, in which it asks the audience to try and empathize with every character involved. I don't agree with some of the reviews claiming there are plot holes or felt that it was all pointless. There is a moral lesson to be had by the end, and it reveals what happens when we let hate and anger cloud our judgment.

The gameplay is a vast improvement from the first one. I didn't necessarily "enjoy" the first Last of Us, although it did have great moments. Part II has a more fluid and cinematic feel, making use of the PS4's technology and turning every combat encounter into a harrowing and stressful experience. Throughout the game I've had a stealth section turn into an intense firefight, and a firefight turn into a health-draining escape. Character development occurs through the action and really unravels who they are. The only thing I'm not a fan of are the QTE's.

It's unfortunate that the legacy of TLoU2 will be its controversy more so than the quality. I really think this game deserves a chance since it's mostly based on player experience. As someone who was spoiled by a major event in the story before the game came out, the emotional beats still landed and by the end, I felt exactly what the game intended. Again, if you didn't like the game after playing it, I completely understand, but for the ones who simply want to leave comments like "I hate gay people" in their review, you are ruining future User Scores.

Okay so I will say this, I feel like most people are just **** talking this game because of what they know, have seen, or heard, without even playing it. Playing and experiencing the game for yourself gives you the right to your own opinion, you are entitled to that as long as you've played it. I actually really liked the game. Do I disagree with some of the events in the story, yes, but it doesn't deserve a low average rating of 4.4 like that's ridiculous.
In the context that we are given, things in the game makes sense, it is clear what they were going for. But if you are bias to what you've seen or heard or have already played, and you let that bias become a block, then you are not going to have the experience you want with the game, because your bias going to blind you and hinder you from being able to analyze the themes and symbolism as they are meant to be analyzed.
The point of playing as Abby is not to tease us, haha look we're making you play as Joel's murderer, no. No one even said you have to LIKE her. The point of playing as Abby is to put us in her shoes, to try and understand at the very least why she does what she does.
Every single new character has a meaning some less or more than others but their stories are there. Dina and Jesse are Ellie's friends, they have history, but if you don't analyze the hints the game gives you, you won't see that Joel used to think Jesse had a crush on Ellie, Ellie actually has feeling for Dina, and vice versa. You'll miss who these people are to Ellie if you don't play attention.
Manny, Mel, and Owen are Abby's friends, this is the games way of showing us who and what Abby has to lose. Owen is her love interest.
Abby begins her revenge story from the moment Joel decides to save Ellie, killing all the doctors at the hospital in the first game. Following up in the second game keep in my that Abby gets her revenge, she kills Joel. I heard people saying that Abby had no remorse for killing Joel but you can see that she does, i actually believe it's the reason she needs a good deed, which leads her to Lev and Yara. Lev asks her why did she go back for them, that she didn't owe them anything, to which Abby replies "Guilt.... I just needed to lighten the load a bit."
okay so now Ellie, my baby begins her revenge story when Abby kills Joel, this haunts her throughout the game and it's apparent. She wants revenge for what Abby did to Joel. She goes to Seattle with the intent of helping and looking for Tommy aswell as looking for Abby. There is a shift in Ellie's priorities near the end of Seattle Day 2, Jesse goes to support Tommy and Ellie follows the path of revenge pursuing Abby.
They finally encounter each other at the theater but remember by that time Abby already completed her Revenge story, what did she lose? Her Dad. What did it cost her to pursue it? Mel, Manny, Owen, even Nora.
My baby Ellie was on the brink of extinction and my wife Dina almost got her throat slit, I was on the edge of my chair. When Ellie reveals to Abby that Dina is pregnant, she replies "good," why? because her pregnant friend Mel was killed by Ellie, so why not, right? it makes sense anger, rage, and vengeance are motives for both Ellie and Abby, but Lev representing light and innocence of good tells Abby to step down and she does.
One year later Ellie is living a somewhat good life but is still clearly haunted by Joel's brutal death, suffering from PTSD. One Day Tommy's headass guilt trips Ellie into pursing the path of vengeance once more. But let's see, what did Ellie lose to drive her revenge story? Joel. What has she lost so far as a result of that? Jesse is dead and Tommy is very damaged. I kinda wanted to note that by this time in the game, Ellie knows this is not what she wants but she has to try because this PTSD seems like it's never gonna end, hence the "I don't sleep, I don't eat." it shows on her face when Dina begs her not to go, Ellie feels nothing so she pursues it in order to try.
All in all, I really enjoyed the game, it sucks that everyone is so divided. Ellie chose to let Abby go because that is not who Ellie is, I mean look at Abby who actually completed her revenge story, but literally lost everything even her people, the WLF and was LUCKY to have Lev. I will never forgive Abby for what she did to Joel, but she is still a respectable person/character. Ellie in the end made the wrong choice to pursue vengeance again and it cost her, herself and her connection with Joel through her ability to play the guitar. I just want Ellie to be happy, she is very talented and skilled I hope to see her pick up the guitar again and reconcile with her family, whom she is LUCKY to have. Honestly, it feels like you have to pull apart the story piece by piece for everyone to see it for what it is... ability to analyze the truths, themes, and symbolism of this game for what they are, i think are the best part about playing it.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Hmm...Where should I start... I preodered the game at first day of preoder-openning. I started the game at 0:00 19th. I completed it in 4 days. And I should say that it was quite the expirience.
I rated The game by 4 out of 10, I really like 4/10 of this game. You may say, I loved it. Gameplay, graphics, all of it worked greatly with immersion, with empathy for Ellie. I went in this crusade for revenge. But, when somebody made you play as the most hateful charecter in the game, and somebody tried to manipulate you to love her, then I just snapped, all gameplay went to abyss of unpleasant time consuming event.
And I was stunned how much of game perception depended of empathy for character. And that's why I write this review.
I think, that making Abbie/Lev pair an analog of Joel/Ellie pair is not that good of an idea. Becouse Abbie killed Joel, Jessie, almost killed pregnant Dina (not by accident by the way), and all of it opposed to heartfull relationships of player with Joel/Ellie.
And result of this poor plot choice is hours of gameplay, I hardly crawled through. May be story of itself is great, characters arcs, redemption, even representation is here, but that didn't work for me couse of existence of the first game. Funny fact that LoU2 would not work without first game either.
So I really wanted just tell that when you're making the game so mush immersive on already existed fanbase, you should understand what players want more: deep dramatic story or justice for their beloved characters.
    I am for the lattest.
P.S. My first public review ever) Just wanted to share my thoughts.

Story-telling was the key successful factor which made The Last of US become one the the best game in the past 10 years. The trailer never mentioned Abby will become the new protagonist in PART II. The trailer also try to mislead our customer to believe Joel shall rally again with Ellie to have another journey. I considered this kind of advertising as Scam. Thank you!

The game is a masterpiece! It builds on the first game with larger environments, updated mechanics, new items to craft, new enemies, and a dark complex narrative about losing one's humanity in a brutal quest for revenge. It's the perfect foil to the first game which built it's narrative on regaining Joel's humanity and finding hope.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It's so interesting to me to see the backlash of how people are upset in the lack of control they have over the story in The Last of Us 2, when that was literally the climax of the first game. The game is great, it has some pacing issues, there are points where I just want to skip the travel and go to the next main plot point. Since Uncharted 2, Naughty Dog have been pushing the line between how much "down time" they can put between action set pieces before it becomes a bit of a drag. To me, both Uncharted 4 and The Last of Us 2 lean too heavily into these areas. The Last of Us 2 at least has the advantage of giving you the chance to use these downtime segments to search for items if you are running low or like to make sure you are properly stocked up. This isn't a huge issue, but it does make the Last of Us 2 hard to sit down and play in large bursts.

The story also drags on a bit long. While I think the story for the game is fine, and I'd argue I enjoyed it better than the last two Uncharted games, there's no doubt that it is bloated. There are a ton of characters, there are a lot of plot threads that have to be resolved that it can be a bit overwhelming.

The choice to switch to Abby for a huge chunk of the game was infuriating at first, but as I played it, I calmed down and took time to put some rational thought into it, and overall it was a great inclusion. Abby is not a great character, she's not horrible and there are some little hints as to who she is as a person sprinkled in if you look into her reactions to some of the documents you find, but there were definitely a lot more opportunities that they missed out on in regards to developing her more.

Overall though, the story is fine. Killing Joel is fine. The Fireflies had focused so much into making the cure, it makes sense that they'd want to send a small army after the man who killed one of the last medical professionals on the planet. Joel trusting Abby also makes sense. Joel has changed, just like he changed throughout the course of the game. People forget that between the moment where he didn't trust the "injured" hunter, he manages to become trustful of Sam and his brother, at the end of that same chapter. Living in a safe community, where hunters aren't nearly as prevalent, it would make sense that finding a seemingly peaceful human in a moment of intense stress, that he would trust them. He isn't out roaming the world constantly fighting humans anymore.

The story isn't revolutionary by any means, but it does create a commentary on the absurdity of protagionists in main games killing literally everyone they come across. It admittedly doesn't handle this topic with the greatest amount of sensitivity, and would have been better served developing Abby as a foil to this mindset, but it does its job. In this universe, everyone is willing to kill everyone on a moment's notice, regardless of who they are or what their past is.

Beyond the story, the game looks great, the actual graphics themselves aren't anything super exceptional, but in typical Naughty Dog style, they have pushed the graphics to their most extreme limit in terms of designing the game around looking great with what they are using.

Sound design is pretty solid, I won't say it's the most exceptional game in this regard, but the guns sound nice, the character dialogue sounds good.

The gameplay is similar to the original game. There have been some notable changes, some of which are a bit of a step backward (or in the wrong direction, I guess), and some of them are pretty great. The gunplay feels awesome, pulling off chains of kills feels even better than the first game. The upgrade system (for both your character and guns) is fun and lets you lean into whatever strategies tend to line up with what you enjoy doing, and all of them seemed viable from my experiences. The variety of enemies is far superior to the original game, though due to this game's length, it doesn't feel like a huge difference because this game is a good bit longer than the original, so those enemy types still appear a lot. Infected + human sections are a nice change of pace, it's fun to see how they will interact with each other in cool ways.

The puzzles are more varied than the first game, though admittedly still nothing to write home about.

Realistically, I think this game is about a 9/10, however, due to review bombing from children who haven't played the game, I'm going to give it that extra point to try to make the review score more indicative of what the score should be for people who have actually PLAYED THE GAME.
