    Visuellement ce jeu est magnifique , les infectes sont bien faits et l'ambientation aussi et puis le gameplay on peut dire qu'il est bien le problème c'est que c'est trop SJW déjà j'aime pas sa mais en plus il traite les personnages comme de la mrd si vous jouez ou vous avez vu les spoilers vous comprendrez pourquoi en résumé un jeu magnifique ruine par son histoire de merde.

I am already playing it, and it was not as ambitious a game as they were commenting, those of naughty dog, I have noticed many bugs, a very serious downgrade, and I see that it has the same graphic engine as the first one. Abby's character seems like a robot, what an ugly character, I am playing as fast as possible to be able to kill her in the bloodiest way, because heck how horrible is, I have also noticed some lows of incredible frames, and even so the notes gave it a 96 and almost 100 in all really?, this smells like you paid journalists very well, that game becomes monotonous and continuous in graphics and things to do, the ps4 pro can not over there I suppose I think that in the next generation the graphic change will be noticed a little more and the game will be more fluid in terms of frames. But the story was shattered by the argument of leading Joel into an ambush so easily, such a careful guy, and who didn't help other people, is so stupid. well this game in my opinion is overrated, the score it should have had was a maximum of 70,For people who are used to playing good games, and who have good stories and good graphics, this does not surprise us, it is not innovative and leaves a lot to be desired, rather it seems that the first one is better composed in everything, because even in graphics making comparisons are better in the flashbacks of the moment that joel kills the doctor and runs away with ellie. This game was left to several Junior developers posing as seniors and they destroyed the story as well as the design of the characters that they did not like everyone,overrated score, that game is a 70.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. State-of-the-art level design, sound, voice acting, graphics, art design, animation, combat, and world-building. Mixed feelings on the use of flashbacks and the dual narrative structure in the story. The beginning and end sections are gripping, but the time in between is disorganized and loses momentum as a result.

    Gameplay
    —My favorite aspect of the gameplay was exploring the detailed, open environments, especially the beginning section in Seattle.
    —If you can get past the brutality, the combat is pretty fun and strategic, but often the violence is so unpalatable I just wanted to stop playing.
    —The AI is much improved from the first game and it really does feel like you have to outsmart your enemies, which is impressive.
    —Survival horror fans won't be disappointed as the second act delivers some Lovecraftian nightmare fuel.

    Story *spoilers*
    —Sometimes I thought, "I'm not sure what's happening or what I'm doing and I don't really care when there are more interesting things going on that you're not showing me"
    —Sometimes, the story would introduce horrible ideas, retcon them, and then expect us to return to the story with full investment. When Tommy is shot in the head by Abby, I was instantly just like, "OK, I'm done. Do whatever. This game is over." And then it turns out he's alive later, and so my trust in the narrative came back, but only partly.
    —I did care about where the story was going, but I cared the most at the beginning and the end, like I said. Abby is well developed and she's an interesting character like Ellie, so I didn't mind spending time with her. It takes some time to reach this point, though, and at first, her story is almost unplayable given what we know about her. But then the game humanizes her, and so the trust in the story comes back.
    —You can never FULLY retcon or reverse disgust at what's happening in the story, even if that disgust turned out to be misguided.
    —In all, there are parts of the story I liked and parts I didn't like. It's mixed. I need more time to think.    … Expand

    The graphics and game play is good but the last of us has always been story based and I personally didn't enjoy the story as I found the character choices and dialogue to be subpar. I enjoyed some moments with Abby and some of her story but I feel like we shouldn't have played as her in the game. The treatment of lgbtq+ characters is also just used for misery and shock value.

    I feel like a way to improve this game and give its moral message of forgiveness and the flaws in revenge would have been to have the player play as Abby from the beginning and have her struggle trying to find Joel and Ellie and get revenge and she meets Lev and befriends and takes care of him like an older sister and then have the cult come back and beat up Abby and take back Lev and then she meets Joel and Ellie and Joel finds out who she is and befriends her and take her to Tommy's settlement for medical help she finds out who Joel is and tries to kill him but Ellie stops her and they offer to help her get back Lev and after saving him and defeating the cult take them to Tommy's settlement and then have them heal up Lev and Joel and Abby finally have a confrontation/talk and Joel,Abby,Lev,and Ellie go on a journey to the Last remnants of the fireflies and Joel sees what he put her through and Abby realizes that Joel is genuinely upset and saddened at what he has done and Abby comes to realize and understand why he did what he did after hearing him out. On their way to the fireflies they find other settlements and see what has happened to some of the last remnants of humanity, Have Abby teaching Lev how to shot a gun, having Ellie and Joel rekindle their father daughter bond and have Ellie really talk to Joel about her feelings, Have Joel teaching Lev how to fish or fight, have Abby and Ellie become close and see each other as friends and they end up in battles with bandit groups like from the first game and When they finally make it to the fireflies and Joel reveals who he is and they try to kill him only to have Abby protest and forgive him. If a character has to die then they should have Ellie choosing to give up her life for a cure or vaccine. The game ends with Joel at Ellie's grave and then Joel walking away to his home where he is teaching Abby and Lev how to play the guitar This could be a nice but sad ending like the Tell Tales the walking dead season 1 made me feel.The other option would be the doctors having Ellie live through the surgery and have her with Dina showing Joel his grandchild and Joel teaching Lev how to play football or something and him teaching Abby how to play the guitar as a nice feel good ending. A DLC or third game after either of these endings could be Lev and Abby adjusting to life and visiting other settlements and having like a war between the settlements. This is honestly what I would have done people can like the game how it is and thats fine but I personally didn't like most of the story.    … Expand

It doesn't deserve 35 either, its graphics are very good, its soundtrack, and its gameplay is much better than the first part, but its history is like a bad season of THE WALKING DEAD, for me it deserves:

    First of all, I'd like to get the easy part out of the way: this game is a technical marvel. The graphics are superb, the sound is masterful, the acting is next level and beyond. The production value blurs the lines between gaming and cinema, but unfortunately, the story and characters don't live up to the standards set by the first game, nor the incredible technical effort present in this one.

    Gameplay is much smoother than the original, but does not add enough to revolutionize the genre. Level design can feel repetitive, even when you're in different areas. The walking and the conversations are nice, but they out stay their welcome at times. The game is not difficult, and it's about as long as the the average single player games; 25 hours. The story is told from different perspectives to make an obvious point ; conflicts in the form of vengeance may consume people and outlast them. The main characters are single minded and their negative emotions leave no room for growth or development throughout the journey. They are charged with destructive emotions that ultimately lead them to lose everything, making the characters and the player feel empty because of how tragically primitive their world has become. Violence and bloodshed are detailed and magnified in a disturbing manner which only show us how far humans have strayed from values and civilization. Sadly, it all makes it a world not worth visiting and the characters do not merit our company.

    It is a regrettable that the second game couldn't push storytelling like the original did. But it did push the technical aspect and I wish it is enough, but it is the one aspect that will be overshadowed by future games with better technology.    … Expand

    I’m 4-5 hours in, so far a little disappointed by how the story takes off but I want to see how it evolves.     I have no words, this game is a mix of sadness and happiness, that make me feel empty.
    Like "I know that append, but I don't want to accept it".
    The end it's something I have never seen before, I was litteraly crying.
    The final flashback of joel give a sense to all story but it hurts seeing him sad for ellie, knowing that he would die.

The story was the largest disappointment of the game. Killing Joel in the first hour, playing as his killer who we have grown to hate while the game tries to make us sympathize with her as we play as her character for an extended portion of the game. The worst part was that Abby’s story turned out to be way more captivating than Ellie’s. There were more interesting characters who actually grew from their experiences before they were ultimately killed (kind of disappointing but not unexpected). The ending was the worst for me ultimately reaching Ellie’s climax and then deciding not to go through with killing Abby. What was this whole story for? Had she forgot about all the people who died or her family who she left behind. That was truly disappointing to watch. However, I realize story is not all that makes a game. As I said before I enjoyed the gameplay and having to outwit or outgun my enemies in certain areas while scavenging for materials or ammunition. I also enjoyed all the notes you could read to immerse yourself into the world. Overall, I was disappointed. It was not a bad game but it was certainly not the 10/10 game that all the critics had rated it. (The only spoiler I knew ahead of time was the Joel would die).… Expand

    Naughty dog does not understand the concept of revenge. The graphics are good and the gameplay has been improved since the first, the game is brutal and visceral. But the story suffers from a lack of writing, especially the new character in the game. The way her is introduced in the game, hinders any chance of the player sympathizing with his goal

El gameplay es bueno, hace mejores respecto a lo que había hecho el original pero después de mucho tiempo jugando se vuelve algo repetitivo. La parte cerca de lo que crees que es el final del juego en realidad se convierte en 6 horas insufribles de usar al nuevo personaje (que te hicieron odiar antes) en las que te presentan tramas irrelevantes a la principal y te desconectan completamente de esta. El final no tiene coherencia con los personajes y es completamente insatisfactorio.

    Si, entendemos, la venganza es mala y todo eso, pero cada una de las acciones por las que nos quieren hacer sentir mal son acciones que los desarrolladores nos obligaron a hacer. Intentan que simpatices con lo que hace el villano dándote 10 min de su historia pero no lo logran. Infinity War logro de mucha mejor manera lo que TLOU 2 quería hacer. Entiendes por qué Thanos hace lo que hace, por más descabellada que sea su lógica. En cambio en este juego nunca logran que pases mas allá del odio que le tienes al villano.
    Naughty Dog se va a lavar las manos diciendo que los que criticamos el juego y su trama somos transfobicos, homófobos, etc. Estoy seguro que le darán varios premios al juego pues cumple con la agenda política de varios "medios de videojuegos" que no representan la visión de los gamers si no de unos activistas wannabe. La verdad es que la historia decepciona y arruina un juego que si bien no merece un cero en Metacritic , tampoco un 10 o un 9, para mí un 7 seria una calificación apropiada.    … Expand

    The Last of Us 2 is a BEAUTIFUL game with BRUTAL gameplay (not a game for weak people) that fails to tell a well written and compelling story. Really difficult to like any of the side characters and to side with the characters that the game wants you to side with. The game is not a complete disaster but doesn't even come close to his predecessor.

I’m glad naughty dog wanted to try something different with the perspective of characters and it really developed the post apocalyptic very well through doing this; however, in some parts it went way too far. I didn’t mind playing as abby for the most part. As for joel dying, It was pretty sad how it happened so easily for him and it was pretty much fate. As the story unfolded, however, it was pretty clear that he deserved to die, at least Abby had good motivation to do so. Joel’s death really motivated me as well, to go kill every single person involved. I was so angry and furious and heartbroken, that when i played as Ellie seeking revenge i truly wanted to kill all of them, i didnt even care, i thought well, i don’t mind joel dying as long as i can kill every last one of them, to me his death would be worth it. Then we got to play as abby. Of course i disliked abby, but it was nice to see into the life of another community and see that they are very human. I think they could have made abby so much more likable though, she wasn’t even liked by her friends that much and i don’t know, i feel like if you make someone kill joel then make us play that character you better make that character even more likeable than ellie, and they kind of failed at that for me at least. Despite that, playing as abby was interesting and made me feel at least a little empathy for her, yet i still hoped for revenge against her which is why i didn’t mind playing as her. This was until my least favorite part of the game came...they made us play as abby, and beat the **** out of ellie. Honestly it was the worst part of the game for me and if this wasn’t in it i would have loved the game so much more. It upset me that the character i wanted revenge against the most beat up the character that was so beloved by me and the character i was rooting for throughout the game, and i had to do it. It was
    honestly so messed up to me. After that, i felt sick to my stomach and just wanted to stop playing. How does naughty dog expect us to like that part of the game? Why do they think our interests to beat up ellie would aline with abby’s when you showed her brutally kill joel? I was so disappointed and i just wanted to stop, but i continued. Honestly i just wanted to be over with it, but of course we got sent back to try and find abby, I’m not sure if i cared anymore, at this point i disliked the writers more than abby for making me do that to ellie. Then we finally find abby and we beat her but we decide not to kill her. I didn’t hate the ending but i can’t say i understood why ellie
    chose that...i think she realized joel really was a ****ty person and possibly took away the vaccine from man kind (based on the flash back that happened at the end) but she loved him too, and the reason she was even living was because of him and she knew that. I don’t know, honestly i wish we killed abby, but we both have gone through so much **** i don’t know if i even cared anymore.    … Expand

The game's story revolves around revenge for Joel's death (And what a stupid and stolen death, Joel deserved a better death); but when it comes time to close the story, and have revenge, they simply put it for us to try to marry Ellie. What the hell is this bow ?!
    But we have a new chance to avenge Joel, and when we're happy to kill Abby, Ellie doesn't finish and let her go unpunished. Even with the character's journey, to find Abby, in the end this journey is simply thrown away. Final is disappointing, and they managed to throw away the whole arc created, by the death - silly and stupid - of Joel.    … Expand

    TLOU2 is excellent, some aspects of the story went off the rails, but as a game is the best naughty dog has done. Ashley should win awards for her performance in this game. If you loved the first one, give it a shot, just don't be attached to the characters from the first game.

Fallout 76, a buggy and incomplete game only scored .5 lower than this game on user reviews, which again shows that this games user reviews are not to be trusted. Anyone reading who thinks the troll or review bombs are helpful, just remember, the developers are going to ignore and pass over reviews with the intent to troll, so if you think that review bombing will actually sway the developers to your side, it won't. In all, it is very embarrassing that the community reacts with review bombing and hateful reviews, especially when 21,000 people claim to have played and been competent enough to review a game released 24 hours ago. Metacritic is also intended for people looking to buy a game with little knowledge surrounding the game before purchase, so mainly causal players, so political rant reviews and troll reviews serve no use or purpose to people looking to actually buy the game, as most people care very little about the "politics" of a games story.     The gameplay has been tweaked to be better than it's predecessor. The graphics, atmosphere, music and art style are all top notch. Very good.     However, a game like this is made on it's depth of character and plot. And the characters have many, many failures to them.
    I won't go into the spoilers, however just understand that where the first game managed to ratchet up the tension and involve you in the characters, this one failed.

    The characters are just unlikeable, and sometimes do quite stupid things plot wise that seem unbelievable - and the characters and plot are tighly coupled to enjoyment of a game in a narrative adventure experience like this. So bad characters + plot holes = significantly reduced quality of game, despite the rest of the clear expertise that put together the other parts of the game.

    And no, just to distinguish myself from a lot of the other reviews that seem a bit too fixated on the LGBT characters, I do not have 1 problem with LGBT stuff being in games, that stuff does not bother me at all and I'm very positive towards representation. But no matter the stripes of the characters, it's all moot if they aren't done well.    … Expand

    Nos vendieron una historia de venganza en los trailers para que al final se hechen para atras como si todo lo jugada no tuviera carga alguna en la trama...
    No tengo problema con la inclusión, pero la presencia de Abby y el personaje como tal se siente mediocremente argumentada y muy forzada cual si fuera un Fanfic, curiosamente tanto la protagonista como la antagonista tienes distintas preferencias sexuales.
    Ademas de escenas eróticas que no dejan nada a la imaginación, nuevamente forzandolo en la historia... (Qué coño pensaron en poner una escena de un hombre y un transgénero teniendo sexo anal?)
    Empezando, el incio...
    Las situaciones no se sienten naturales, sino muy convenientes para la trama (nuevamente forzadas), llevandonos al climax que es la muerte de Joel, tan absurda (por el simple hecho de que profundizaste y desarrollaste tanto al personaje para que lo termines matando como a un simple personaje secundario) como triste...
    Desarrollo...
    Al juego se lo siente con objetivo, hay solo desarrollo en el objetivo de Ellie que es vengar a Joel
    Terminando, el final...
    Resalto que mucha gente defenderá la muerte de Joel diciendo " es una muerte realista"... Pero hombre, si te vas a poner realiste hazlo de lleno y no hagas bajar a Abby para que luche cuerpo a cuerpo con Ellie en lugar de que esta la torture o simplemente le dispare en medio de los ojos (Nuevamente conveniente para la trama), me montas tremenda pelea, tremendo genocidio durante el desarrollo del juego, para que al final Ellie se heche para atrás solo por un insignificante flashback ¿Es en serio? Despues de matar a mucha gente dejas huir a la verdadera culpable (vaya obra de realismo, en que perra mundo viven?) que para rematar te arranca un dedo con su boca jajaja, no sé ustedes, hasta a la persona más noble la hubieran corrompido con toda esa serie de sucesos mostrados en el juego...

I absolutely love the first last of us. it is probably my favorite game ever. but part 2 has nothing to do with the first game. sure there are some flashbacks but the plot is a revenge story. not a story about the ending of the last game. the best part about part 1 was the relationship between Joel and Ellie. but part 2 removed that. and the characters don’t really act like they did in the first game either. i liked the game but only when there is meaningful cutscenes or gameplay. and the combat gets really repetitive through out the game. the graphics are absolutely gorgeous. but this game isn’t a masterpiece, it’s a good game. but it is nothing compared to part 1.… Expand

As a long time fan of the original Last of Us game, I was excited to delve into the game. I was without a doubt hyped. The shocking death of Joel was something that got me angry, even making me want to put the game down. But as I kept playing I realized why Naughty Dog decided to do this bold move. Sure Joel died in a very bad manner but the point of this was to make us relate to Ellie more than ever. The whole theme of this plot is vengeance and the death of Joel not only instilled the feeling of revenge in Ellie but also in the hearts of many long time fans. Playing as Ellie on her quest to avenge Joel by bringing his killers to justice was one of the most gruesome and violent things I have had to see. But I really enjoyed it. The combat, stealth, movement and exploration feeling absolutely amazing and have set the bar for how sequels should build on what they had in their original game. During the beginning while I was playing as Ellie I really believed that this was going to be one of my favorite games ever, going as far as saying that it was better than the original at this point. But all these thoughts began to escape my mind as the game forced me to play as Abby, Joel’s killer, for a very elongated time of the game. WE THE FANS DO NOT WANT TO PLAY AS ABBY NAUGHTY DOG. Playing as Abby and seeing how evil she really was made me slowly begin to dislike the game and get more angry at Naughty Dog for making such a ridiculous decision, but if I’m being completely honest, that was pretty much my biggest gripe with The Last of Us Part 2. I enjoyed every other moment I experienced whilst playing as Ellie. Naughty Dog had the potential to make this game one of the best of all time. There were glimpses of this in the flashbacks Ellie had with Joel and in the sections of Seattle where you played as Ellie, but ultimately what kept this game from pleasing fans and becoming one of the greats for many people’s eyes was its writing and story decisions. Playing as Abby dropped my score down because it was something that I did not enjoy at all. We see all the evil things Abby does but the game tries to sway our view of her by showing how she interacts with her friends. This comes of as infuriating to me and is a result of bad writing. It’s hard for me to decided whether or not to recommend this game to a long time Last of Us fan because of how high it’s highs are and how low it’s lows get.… Expand

    I put in 15 hours so far with this game. I have to say overall it's decent. It isn't bad but it isn't good either. Want happen with these major video game critics? What happened with being honest about how the game really is? If some critics think it's a fantastic game. That's fine! But you're telling me every critic loved it? It feels like it was slap together with no thought put into it. The only thing they did right with the game is the character built up with Joel and Ellie. Especially Ellie and Abby. Than you have those brief moments that really connect you to the game and it's characters. Which Naughty Dog did a fantastic job in doing. But it doesn't make up for the mediocre revenge story. They could have taken story at any direction 3 hours into the game. I feel like most critics are giving it superb ratings more for the graphics and the gameplay. Which they should always focus on what comes first, the story! Especially with a game that is story based only! And with that regard. I feel that this game was overhyped! It's a Rent, not a Buy. I do recommend people playing it for themselves and renting before spending $60 on it. Some will like part 2 some will dislike it. Graphics: 10/10

    I found myself pausing the game a lot just to take in the immense narrative that this game presents. The Last Of Us Part 2 definitely contains a good story, but I think it’s a bad video game. Druckmann would be more suited to making films and television. I admire his bravery in telling a story strictly about survivors, rather than your basic hero versus villian narrative. This game is first of all, NOTHING like its predecessor.As an absolute fan of The Last Of us and someone who played the first game in launch week, I've been passionately following the release of this heavily anticipated sequel. This game has a ton of controversy surrounding it so knowing that I will simply do my very best to give the most honest opinion possible. NOTE FOR SPOILERS AHEAD. This game is first of all, NOTHING like its predecessor. And that is both a great thing and a terrible thing. In fact, upon my first playthrough of this game I had so many mixed feelings that even now I still need to process it all. I can definitely say however that I have zero problems regarding the actual gameplay. The visuals and animations, the design and graphics and combat and traversal, its all something amazing. Nothing groudbreaking but definitlely a worthy and noteable upgrade from the original. My mixed feelings derive from the story. That is what The Last Of Us is truly known for. The theme of revenge and violence begets violence is nothing new in modern media but it is still engrossing nonetheless. But the character direction, motives, and bleakness of the world and story makes it hard for me to consider this game as fun. It is intense and in all honesty, I found myself vastly disagreeing with the stories directions at points. Especially considering that you have to play almost half the game as the essential antagonist of the story. I still am trying to understand what would make Naughty Dog feel that this was a good idea. I understand that the point was to humanize Abby but (with purpose of keeping the story vague) after what she does to multiple beloved characters, there is simply no way I can root for her. Ellie however is completely different from the girl we protected back in 2013. Much has changed. The story has many beats and many points which are reasonably divisive over the community and a subject for debate for years to come and the ending left me with a feeling of emptiness that I once again cannot be sure is a good feeling or horrible. This game is unique in execution though heavily flawed in ways that regard the narration. Still, it is a technical marvel and a story which must be decided on a personal basis without any peer pressure or community bias. I enjoyed the game and despite my issues, I do appreciate how I wrestle around on my standpoint towards the plot and my standpoint as a fan in general. Play it first then decide but overall, for me this game is definitely worth a shot. Although I do enjoy the original game more, Part 2 is surely a journey to be had.
    Overall Visuals and tech-10/10 Animations and sound-10/10 Gameplay and combat-9/10 Story(For my personal experience based on my first playthrough of 24 Hours total)-6/10. It has incredible moments but there are certain things that I find hard to justify considering the magic of TLOU 1 and the 7 years ND has had to set an alternative work in motion.     Totally unnecessary making us play with Abby through half of the game. I know she had reasons to kill Joel, but wtf Neil Druckmann thought? That we would like to play with her. The first time i played with her after Joel’s death I turned off my console. Why you want me to play with the girl that killed my favorite character in the whole novel. Neil Druckmann could explore other ways to end the story. I know it would be cliche to end by Ellie killing Joel after knowing the truth about the first game ending but even though it would be a better ending. What makes me pissed off is that we waited 7 years thinking the way Ellie would discover that Joel was lying about the fireflies, and how Naughty Dog did it? They just brought up in a flashback, giving the feeling that the whole TLOU ending was meaningless. Naughty Dog could explore the whole “Joel’s lie” thing so much better. About the end. I think that the way it ended showing Ellie leaving the farm, gives us a hint to think what will happen: Ellie will go after the remaining of the fireflies maybe to sacrifice herself for the cure since her life doesn’t have more meaning before Dina’s departure. Why they did it? To profit more with TLOU 3.

    About character development. What I really missed about the first game was the way I got emotionally closer till the point that I really start caring about the character like I did with Henry and Sam. The closer of that, that I got in this game was the relationship with Jess but even thought it didn´t feel the same like with the brothers.

    And for those that are trolling the ratings, bro it’s a **** zombie apocalypse the more stronger, better. What you guys did expect, a character looking like Lana Rhoades?

    Resuming, the game is beautiful, revolutionary but the story is dissapointing. My last complaint: any game industry should not do what Naughty Dog did by revealing a trailer that doesn´t have any thing to do with the actual story. I was expecting a game that would made me burst into tears but in the end i got a game that made me fill upset and disgusted with the way Druckmann disrespected Joel to focus on a non-captivating lesbian romance.

    Neil Druckmann gave us what we didn´t want, maybe that is why we are really dissapointed. To really understand the end you have to be open minded and try to understand it in a philosophical way and for me, I was expecting an end to the whole novel, not a question mark. The Last of Us didn´t worth the hype it received and maybe that´s Naughty Dog purpose, to surprise us by not giving us the story we wanted on a silver platter, that´s why I give it a seven.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. TLOU2 (The Last of Us 2) Is a disgrace to the original game and the franchise as a whole. The original game found light in the dark world that naughty dog created by using clever dialogue and a fantastic relationship between Joel and Ellie. This relationship was built throughout the entire story and ultimately is what drove many people to love the game. Not only were the characters realistic and likable but the journey they go through is beautiful and unforgiving at the same time. The characters are fleshed out in a natural flow and as we play the game we grow a bond with the characters just as Ellie and Joel are in the game. Respectively, in TLOU2, we find ourselves with characters that are thrown at us with little backstory and no development. The only character that brings the same spark as Joel and Ellie's relationship did is Dina. However, this is short-lived as Dina becomes pregnant and becomes a side character that is forgotten about almost as quickly as she was becoming interesting. With Dina out of the picture, we get Jesse as a companion which is a complete disaster; the character is seldom enjoyable and we don't know any of his backstory or who he is as a person. The combination of these two characters ultimately cuts Ellie's part of the game into 3 sections. Parts with Ellie and Dina which are enjoyable, parts with Jesse which are lackluster, and parts with only Ellie which would have been a nice splash of darkness if the parts with Jesse felt refreshing, although they did not and therefore we have the feeling of a much too lonely story, not to mention that Ellie herself has become an even darker character with only a fraction of her endearing dialogue. Aside from those characters, the others are little explored - Maria and Tommy barely appear, although they could have definitely been much more involved characters that would have brought a sense of familiarity given that we met them in the first game and that Tommy is Joel's brother. Finally, without Joel to converse with Ellie, the brief joy that could be shared in such a dark world was lost and Naughty Dog's effort was poor at keeping it refreshing, which brings us to the story that has disappointed millions.

    In the first game, the story was of a typical post-apocalypse game; a person is immune and goes to save the world. Of course, this stereotypical plot is riddled with fantastic dialogue, intriguing characters, and impeccable plot-twists, all wrapped up in flawless storytelling. Although there is another piece of the puzzle that makes Ellie and Joel's adventure unique - only they could have that story. In TLOU2, the plot is a generic revenge story; a loved one dies, and the hurt party seeks out revenge by killing the characters who harmed her loved one. Anyone could have this story. It isn't unique and it isn't refreshing, and it's one of the reasons why the entire plot in the first place was a direction that the game shouldn't have gone in. Aside from the revenge plot being mundane, it was stupid - the character of Abby felt completely irredeemable since everyone loved Joel - no matter how you saw his decision in the first game, and for the record, I disagreed with it. His death was long overdue - however, his death was not overdue in such a manner that portrayed him as a novice of the bleak and unforgiving world they live in.
    In the first game, we see Joel and Ellie in a car entering a town and are greeted by a man that calls out for help - Joel instantly sees this as an ambush, showing his experience in reading situations, so unless Abby and all of her friends are actors, I think I'd rather come to the conclusion that it was simply poor writing. Moreover, we play as the killer of Joel which was largely in the second half of the game - this introduction to a new character is trying to shape a moral foundation for her actions however for many it is already too late. She is hard to be seen in any other light than the person that killed a favorite character which is why her approximately 8-hour playthrough felt like an obligatory side mission which I couldn't wait to finish. In my opinion, the fact that I don't like Abby isn't my fault - She isn't funny or interesting and her moral compass is shoved down the player's throat in an attempt to redeem her actions which simply does not pan out, not to mention the horrific ending of Ellie getting her fingers chomped off and her suddenly remembering Joel for a split-second and deciding to spare Abby; it's not Ellie, it's not character development, it's poor writing and it's a poor ending set out to be poetic but simply does not feel satisfying or elegant at all - They rushed character development and told a foolish story in a lousy manner that paid a terrible homage to Game Of Thrones by killing characters for no reason.

    Gameplay was good but lacked diversity and flare; same with enemy types.
    Graphics, voice acting, level design 10/10

    The game is absolutely amazing in terms of acting graphics gameplay rich environment that doesnt let you to get bored of it and also the dismemberment! Woo boy that was cool and satisfying but the story is something that bothered me.
    I played the game very cautiously and NO it's not about how Joel died, its not about Abby playing half the game with her its about HOW joel dies and it's not because of the golf club it's about (YO I AM TOMMY THIS IS JOEL) to a stranger they know **** about and followed like sheeps. Before you say to me the excuse Neil Druckmann said about the 4 years of Joel's been soft and love changed him... No man,20 years of killing and interacting with ****ty people 4 years of softness cannot erase this brutality! It just cant.Maybe in the world of Neil but I didnt like it simple as that.
    Basically Joel did ****ty things to survive with Tommy as well and we more clearly see it in Tlou 2 with Tommy.Next is about Abby, I give 0 Fs about her backstory and how to play a mini game with a bow so at the end Owen will show me his Christmas surprise. I dont also give a damn about the flash backs with owen and Abby been younger and exploring the aquarium. If you want to make her sympathetic try harder because that wasnt the way and made the game boring in this. And of course I'm against the sexual scene with Owen, it was unnecessary and it's a god damn game, not a porn

Do not get me wrong, the story has it's moments and I love the flashbacks fro Joel and Ellie. But what the f*** was I playing as Abby for HALF OF THE GAME? The Last Of Us is The Last Of Us because of Joel and Ellie. I was playing as Joel's killer for most of the game. Is ND trying to make me feel bad for Abby? Like tf? SHE KILLED JOEL. The story could have been so much different. But I do like the moments in the story.

    As for gameplay, the game is flawless in terms of detail, gameplay, sound, and graphics. As for the story, they could have changed the story to a way better one for sure.    … Expand

    It was a good game. Not a 10/10 great game like the first one was. I liked God of War more than this one too. I’d give this one 7/10. I didn’t like how time jumped around so much and didn’t like playing antagonist and protagonists but they were trying to get you to empathize.

    - Final sin sentido e incongruente con todo el desarrollo de la historia, todos esos meses y años siguiendo su venganza para dejarla escapar solo porque si.
    - Esos incómodos momentos en los que te "obligan" a jugar con Abby, un personaje que simplemente odias y te da igual su pasado, ya que todos tienen una historia triste en ese mundo post apocalíptico, no tiene nada de especial.
    - La IA sigue siendo igual de deficiente que en el primer juego

    En lineas generales, todo lo que hice bien tlou con su historia y personajes, lo arruinaron en esta segunda entrega

I've been hype for this release since they announced it in 2016 and was really enjoying the game for the first 6-7 hours or so, playing as Ellie primarily and seeing Joel's death was a great way to justify going to Seattle. After this first honeymoon phase though the game got progressively worse for me. Playing as Abby for such a large portion of the game really killed my urge to play. Seeing her perspective of what Ellie was doing was honestly a pretty good idea by NaughtyDog but I think the pure amount of time spent as her really ruined it for me. By the ending Abby had spared Ellie's life twice and I hardly had an urge to kill her anymore. I didn't personally like how Neil forced his SJW agenda into the game but it wasn't a major negative, just something to bring up. This game probably doesn't deserve a 7 at the end of the day but I just love this franchise so much and the game definitely has it's strengths. When major events happened and with Joel's death specifically I really felt emotions for the characters and for an hour or two after his death I wanted to kill them just as badly as Ellie, these emotions fizzled out as the game progressed. The graphics are obviously good and the pure depth of the world was amazing. I enjoyed knowing I could approach encounters however I wanted. If the entire game could've been as good as the first 1/3 this would be a 10/10 game. If I weren't so biased towards loving this world and franchise this game would be a 5 or 6.… Expand

    Just finished the game and had a blast. Gameplay 6/10 Graphics 10/10 Music 10/10 Acting 10/10 Story 4/10. The game is just as badly written as the first game was. Gameplay problems like friendly AI not moving out of the way still in part 2 and clunky movement at times.

It was a major disrespect to him. I don't think this game is catering to the SJW's. It has been known that Ellie is attracted to women since the first game. The second part of the game was just garbage. I don't like Abby's character, and not because she might be trans. It's because of the way she was written, how we are supposed to feel bad for her, and some spite just because she killed Joel. The ending was absolutely horrible. What happened to Ellie? We may never know. I'm hoping they come out with some kind of DLC or something so we can know what happens in the end. Ellie deserves a good ending, so I hope she'll make up with Dina. The graphics and gameplay are just beautiful, but the AI is still pretty bad.

Lastly, if you are the mount and blade type of player (aka want to make the character you play have the morality you choose) then you might be dissapointed, the main characters are close to as complex as a real human and thus you can easily find things you dissagree on the main characters views. I would not recomend this game to the type of players that dont want to be an unrealistic killing machine because in this game you are made to do some 1v5 to 1v10 and for them to be possible for all players they had to dumb down the AI and thus only the more realistic stealth feels right. For me, a player mostly focused on strategic and realistic map painter games i would give it a 7/10.… Expand

The sound, art, music, voice acting, characters and graphics are all spectacular. And the story is pretty damn good too. It feels like a natural progression of the first game, even if I don’t 100% agree with some decisions made in the story. There are a lot of flashbacks that it kind of takes you out of the game. Also, you can spend so much time walking around to find stupid items that have absolutely no effect on the game and the puzzles get old quickly. I will say that combat is good enough and the enemy/allies AI is pretty amazing. My biggest problem with this game is you play as a character named Abby for a good half of the game. I like Abby as a character and her story is really good. But no matter how much you play as her you never fully embrace her because of a choice she makes a little less than a quarter into the game. Her character/story would have made for a perfect spinoff game in my opinion. Overall this game is good and worth the time. And contrary to other reviews, this game doesn’t try to push an agenda or try to be some SJW propaganda. Anyone who makes that claim has not played the game at all, or at least finished it.… Expand

This is a very high-quality game, which costs all the money, but it is not a masterpiece. As for me due to the approach to the plot, the game is too long. You can't enjoy the characters of the second half of the game, you don't want to follow them, because you already have your favorite characters in this game. Compared to Ellie, mirrored in some scenes, Abby, she's just boring, like the characters next to her. FOR ME, htey are not like an independent part of the conflict, but as specially prescribed for emotions and for bringing the game message and blah blah . Ally and Joel’s interaction is simple and charming, father and child, it works just on a subconscious level. Ally and her girlfriend are also good, but the rest of the characters (Owen, Mel ...), who have no less time on the screen are no so good. The game draws emotions out of you in the same way, so in the end, you don't care about the death of the characters. I don't think J death is a problem of the game, it just causes other emotions, not like the death of the characters of the first part, it has a different way , but the second half just can't make full way, to work to the end.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Even a Score of 90 Points must be a game who is perfect for everyone who like rpg shooters and equals or surpass in every aspect other games with this score. But "TLOU2" is not such a game.

    The grafics, the sound are okey, its a nice 85, but the gameplaymechanics are mostly the same as TLOU Part1, some are buffed, but not all. So it cant rise to a 90. But the gameplay is still fun and it works, so its a good 80 score but not a 90 or even a 95+.

    But than comes the sequel problem. It don't honor the first game with its story. It try to be diffrent but diffrent equals not useful. For me the story don't pull the right strings. The death of joel feels like a betrail, like Starwars 8, where luke throw away the lightsaber. The developer, who was in charge of the story, betrails me, i don't want such a boring death for this beloved character. And the worst part, its not even logical. Beause he was a lone wolf with cup, he never would do this action that cause his death.

    Next problem is the story itselfe. Its a boring story of revange. It would be far more better, if abby capture and torture joel. That you have multible endings like. All die, joel die, allie die and joel life, abby die or all will find a way to life with each other. Even the character abby would be fare more explainable with "i do this because i lost my father and have thîs **** happened to me".

    Conclusion... a nice game with 85 after all. But the story and the outdated mechanics cost 10 points, 5 points for not honor the fans who where betraied. Its a nice 70 game. Not more not les. Because a game with 95+ need to be memorable for decades. Even after the first mass effect i know who is shepard, who is tahli and liara. I remember joel and ellie... but abby. i will forget in weeks.

    In the end, not a bad game, but not a masterpiece. Like a witcher 3 or an masseffect.    … Expand

    The Last of Us Part II should have been developed as a new IP instead of a sequel. TLOU2 checks all the boxes that a mediocre game is expected to have:clunky controls, cliche story lines and longer than it should have been. The best aspect of this game is its visual which shouldn't come as that much of a surprise as the developers have spent their last seven years on it. in a nutshell,The Last of Us Part II should have been developed as a new IP instead of a sequel.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. What to say about this game? It has got so much potencial in the first half... First half was for me 9/10. But there is BIG BUT. The 2 part of the game come. Such a boring experience playing as a character which you hate from the start and you are forced to understand why she killed joel. I just dont care about her story I wanted her dead because I loved joel. And this part was just dull side of the game. 4/10 this part had only 2 good moments. Superzombie in the hospital and finally her End. Which we knew from the start of that part what will happened. And there is a ending. Oh boy how much was I dissapointed. Ellie wanted here revenge and she got nothing. That was only extrnded ending nothing more. The last of us 1 was much better. This was solid and for me 7/10… Expand

    This game first off is a masterpiece in the graphics department, the gameplay has "improved" but it's a small change from 2013's passable gameplay. Before the Final Act, this game was 8/10 but that ending, and overall final 3 hours dropped my score by 3 whole points. Abby is a boring unlikeable character. Both Joel and Ellie are treated like garbage, hell we have a Neil insert spitting on Joel's body. Here's my closing thoughts, The game up until the switch between Ellie to Abby was running a high score, I at first didn't like it I pushed through. The final act is a stupid wrap up making the game's plot of Ellie going for revenge a useless waste of the series time and also killed it.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Gameplay, Graphics and Character animations are improved over the first game. But the Storytelling decisions and pacing is so average at best compared to the excellent (best aspect) of the Last of Us. It's not that the treatment of Joel is handled awful (we know he was gonna be Ellie's snap factor) it's just that it is handled so poorly and the lead up is so "forced" that you wonder if they just wanted to get rid of the character instead of giving it a proper send off. And them they also "forced us" to sympathize to the new Antagonist/Second Protagonist Abby. I feel bad for Laura Bailey, she did a good voice/motion capture performance, it's just the character is so poorly written that her motivations and behaviour for being so antagonistic are never explored beyond the generic "oh boo boo, you killed my father and i'll yours" revenge trope. Disapointing ending too. I for one, was glad that Ellie proved to be the better person. But after the excrutiating journey she embarks to get her. She din't even cut her fingers at least … Expand

    The games graphics, cinematics , gameplay i really really enjoyed. But the story i wasnt really the biggest fan off but still enjoyed it

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
