    First of, this game is not a 0/0. Neither is it a 10/10. The only thing i have against this game, is the story. Everything besides the story, gameplay, sound so on and so on, is fantastic. It really is fantastic. Where the problems start for me, is the story. ND takes some choices throughout the game that i do not agree with.. It’s not just because of Abby, because actually, the overall gameplay experience and missions you play as her is more fun and enjoyable than Ellies. It’s how they do it. A lot in the story doesnt make sense compared to the first game. But you’ll have to play it yourself to understand.

    The ending is the biggest flaw. It’s executed so bad. It’s an overall good game and enjoyable experience, but it had flade. SPOILER**** The ending. Playing as Abby in the last mission was a mistake. Ellie losing the fight like that and Abby just storming off was weird. And yeah, part of it is just that you hate to see the “hero”/main character get beat up/lose. Either way gane was good, just not what i expected. And not as good as it could have been.    … Expand

    Gameplay and graphics: 10/10
    Story: 5/10

    From the technical aspect I believe this is one of the best PlayStation exclusives I've seen. From the graphics to the controls and level design, this game was strongly satisfying and for that I do believe it gets a 10/10. Now when it comes to the story, this game is a mixed bag. I do want to start by acknowledging that this story would very well serve as a plot for a movie or show as it analyzes from different perspectives, very strong emotions we as humans experience: loss, anger and pain. Now with that said, the story as good as it might does not entirely work for me with this franchise . I believe this comes from the fact that many... many fans just expected the game to take a different route. Ever since the previous installment, some fans begged Naughty Dog for a sequel as means to continue the ever evolving relationship between Ellie and Joel and based on the misleading trailers it looked like we were going to get it. Instead we were treated with a harsh realisation as during the first couple of hours the latter dies in a way that was very upsetting for anyone who loved the character. Throughout the entire game as you survive the streets of Seattle as Ellie, you keep hoping that he magically reappears wishing that he somehow survived his injuries. He does appear later in the game in the form of flashbacks and without a doubt those to me where the best parts of the game. These playable flashbacks serve as connecting tissue, explaining what happened in the 4 years in between each game, however; I can confidently say that they are way too short and do not do the characters any justice. In the game you do explore Ellie's relationship with Dina (her girlfriend) and Jesse (friend) but unlike with Joel it only takes a couple hours for you to feel that her relationship with them cannot evolve any further. Halfway through the game you are abruptly taken from Ellie's perspective and into Abby's perspective (antagonist). You can clearly see that it is an attempt to make the player empathize with the antagonist, to show that she is actually a good person and that she did what she had to do... That did not really work. I do have to admit that the best levels of the game are played through Abby's eyes and ultimately were the most fun for me. With that said, at no point was I able to take off the back of my mind that she was the one responsible for Joel's death. Although I could see that she had a noble goal throughout the game, I couldn't stop believing that everything horrible that occurred to her was deserved. At times I would even purposely let her character fall off a cliff and get swarmed by clickers just to be able to say "you deserve that **** However, her relationship with a young boy named Lev later in game did make me feel familiar emotions as it resembled that of Ellie and Joel but even with that I hoped for Ellie to end Abby by the end. The ending of this game was a bit of a letdown as it did not provide in my opinion a good nor satisfying closure to most of the plots in the story. The beginning of this story leaves our beloved Ellie hurt and broken and by the end of it we see that she remains that way both emotionally and literally. Naughty Dog effectively conveys the same emotional toll for the player as you also feel emotionally broken once you finish, that however does not mean it is a good thing as it also makes me not wish for another installment. I do believe the game was good overall but I think I would have preferred this as the third installment with the second taking place in the 4 years in between with both Ellie and Joel. In the end, The Last of Us part 2 makes a great game that people should definitely experience but the story somewhat disappoints.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. * The ending of the first game sets up the second game really well for a couple of possible things to happen.

    1. Humanity is condemned due to the actions of Joel, so it makes sense that he'll be killed or face some major consequences in the second game. However, I think they killed him too early, in a random encounter, which is bad imo.

    2. It doesn't make sense for the fireflies to disband after they lose Ellie, they could've gone after her in the second game, and Abby's story could've been embedded within that main story. (PS: Saying that Abby's father was the last person who could perform the surgery, is a **** reason for the fireflies to disband. It's a throw-in reason that they made up for the second game and wasn't even foreshadowed in the previous game. Moreover, Abby's father had Mel as his best student. They also had the whole continent filled with all sorts of people and factions to go through and look for a competent enough doctor, so it doesn't make sense that there won't be any other doctor out there that can preform the surgery.)

    3. The second game could've been a second journey where Joel and Ellie try to fix their broken relationship, or maybe Ellie tries to escape to the fireflies, to save humanity and Joel follows her on this journey, trying to stop her and maybe the player gets some sort of choice, either help her get to the finish line (for real this time), or try to force her back and end up getting killed.

    * My thoughts on the story they chose to use:

    1. The story of the game is supposed to be a commentary on how revenge is bad and it'll only bring pain and hurt to you and the people around you. Ellie's action felt very unrealistic and stupid for her character to do, even if she was blinded by revenge. Abby spared Ellie twice, and in the second encounter, she spared her loved one, her kid and Tommy, she could've easily killed them on her way out after knocking Ellie out.
    It felt very strange for Ellie to fully settle down then to choose to go after Abby, especially because that it could put Dina and JJ. in harms way. It felt like a contradiction to the type of person that she was set up to be in the previous game and in this one.

    2. The pacing of the story was really weird. It had a lot of unconnected plot points (Mostly the Abby section of the game), it felt like it could be a part of a standalone game, rather than half of the main game.

    Even with everything that I discussed above, I still think that It's a very enjoyable game, that I loved and would recommend to people. However, It's not the type of game that I enjoyed enough, that I would replay it. I heard someone put it best, It would be good as a separate new IP, but sort of meh as the The Last of Us Part II    … Expand

    Ha de decir que esperé ansiosamente este juego desde que lo jugué por primera ves en ps3, y al momento de terminarlo la historia me dejó decepcionado mayormente con el final que rompe la continuidad de la historia dando un mensaje que se contradice asi misma a traves de todo el juego, quedando asi muy por debajo del primer titulo, tengo que recalcar que no tiene nada que ver mi critica porHa de decir que esperé ansiosamente este juego desde que lo jugué por primera ves en ps3, y al momento de terminarlo la historia me dejó decepcionado mayormente con el final que rompe la continuidad de la historia dando un mensaje que se contradice asi misma a traves de todo el juego, quedando asi muy por debajo del primer titulo, tengo que recalcar que no tiene nada que ver mi critica por temas politico o culturales sino en como se va desarrollando la trama. Pero por esto tampoco es merecedor de un 4 para abajo como muchos lo puntean, si la historia deja mucho que desear pero no hay que negar que mejoró un monton graficamente y jugablemente dando mecanicas interesantes. Asi que en general no es un juego de 10 pero tampoco de un 1. Yo aconsejaria esperar una buena rebaja pero actualmente no creo que este juego valga esos 60 euros.… Expand

    The gameplay continues the style of tlou1. Nothing very original but the gameplay was already good in the first part, so why change it. The story is kind of **** because of the feminist and lesbian propaganda. Graphics are impressive. A nice and very political correct game...

    After all the criticism I read in advance, I wanted to make up my own mind about the game and thought that it can't be that bad. After the end, however, unfortunately only one word describes what I experienced: disappointment. I'm shocked at how obsessively it tries to make me sympathize with Abby, seeing her as a victim, while taking so many kills and brutality for granted. But even withAfter all the criticism I read in advance, I wanted to make up my own mind about the game and thought that it can't be that bad. After the end, however, unfortunately only one word describes what I experienced: disappointment. I'm shocked at how obsessively it tries to make me sympathize with Abby, seeing her as a victim, while taking so many kills and brutality for granted. But even with Ellie, there is never an option except death. Why do all the characters have to attack me in key scenes? I just want revenge on Abby and leave countless piles of bodies like it's nothing. I am always the invader and the aggressor. I find the justifications for my actions very disturbing and the permanent twisting of the facts in the question of guilt very troubling. And all this in a game world where humanity is perishing. The graphics, the technology and the storytelling are simply terrific. A really super development team had to implement an unworthy story, whose main character had to compulsively cover all minorities of our current time. Sad.… Expand

I think the real problem of TLOU 2 is how they adapt the story to the game. If you play the first 10 hours, you have a masterpiece in your hand. However, second part of the game is too linear and the story loses its strength. I good and serious idea becomes cringey as they force you to play so long with the antagonist. But, I have to say that many attitudes of Ellie are not good either. If this game had choices in the critical moments, it would correct some of its problems. I have issues with the AI, because the same behaviour start to make me bored in the second part. This game would be perfect with 12-14 hours, instead of 20+. When you're putting the player in a constant bad trip, you should make the game shorter, or it will lose the purpose. The last third of the game became just a torture. I gave 7 out 10, because the graphic is gorgeous, the first 10 hours is really good, and the idea of the story was great. The first huge mistake was to let Joel falls so easy in a trap, they could work better in this part, then execute the golf scene as the same it is. Abby part is totally desnecessary, just ruined my experience, could be a 10-15 min of cutscene, instead of many hours of linear gameplay.… Expand

Геймплей не особо поменялся, нпси такие же глупые как и были, новых механик не так много, но геймплей терпимый и хороший. История... было грустно в конце но через 5 минут понимаешь на сколько абсурдно это все. На душе пусто, потому что не такого конца я хотел для Элли Все выглядит как будто сон, нету реализма как в первой части. Элли просто так убивала десятки людей на своем пути, чтобы потом просто остановится увидев флешбек. Бред...
    Хотелось бы лучшего конца для любимой Элли..    … Expand

    Se perdió por completo la identidad de cada uno de los personajes, hay momentos en que vas en contra de lo que tienes que hacer para que el juego siga porque no hay más opciones. Siento que perdí el tiempo jugando este videojuego, ni siquiera se alcanza a lograr el objetivo, pero después de todo estos personajes no son nuestros ni mucho menos. Tiene una jugabilidad exquisita y eso es lo único rescatable, con unos gráficas dignas de lo esperado.

    Me arrepiento haber gastado mi pasta en este videojuego, siento que mejor me hubiera quedado con la experiencia del primero, no entiendo cómo se tomaron 7 años para lanzar la parte 2.

    No lo recomendaría nunca si lo que quieres es meterte en la historia, pero si quieres solo por juego está más que bien; personalmente para mi un videojuego tiene que tener una buena historia de enganche y este lamentablemente no lo tiene.

Но все разбилось для меня, когда заставили играть за Эбби. Игра из last of us 2 превратилась в игру по мотивам. Атмосфера на месте, качество на месте, но нет связи с персонажем. И для last of us это критично.
    В первой части нас познакомили с болью Джоэла, с тем как он перешагнул через эту боль и принял Элли в свою жизнь. Мы делили боль Джоэла и переживали вмести с ним за Элли. Во второй части мы делили боль утраты вместе с Элли, нас двигала жажда мести. Что должно было заставить меня проникнуться теми же чувствами к Эбби, особенно после завязки? Это странное решение не работает для меня и, очевидно, для многих. Ряд сомнительных решений превратил эту игру для меня в 7ку, и это особенно жаль ведь всю первую половину она ощущалась как 9ка.    … Expand

    Por donde empezar? Creo que voy a empezar por lo fácil. El juego técnicamente es una BARBARIDAD. No hay ninguna discusión posible. Las físicas, las animaciones, todo lo referente al apartado gráfica es de 12/10. Y lo más espectacular de todo esto es que, todo esto lo mueve una jodida PS4, cosa que me parece un jodido milagro. Ahora bien, en cuanto a lo malo, lo peor sin duda es laPor donde empezar? Creo que voy a empezar por lo fácil. El juego técnicamente es una BARBARIDAD. No hay ninguna discusión posible. Las físicas, las animaciones, todo lo referente al apartado gráfica es de 12/10. Y lo más espectacular de todo esto es que, todo esto lo mueve una jodida PS4, cosa que me parece un jodido milagro. Ahora bien, en cuanto a lo malo, lo peor sin duda es la historia. Para mi opinión no esta a la altura. Lo de meter a Abby con un calzador tan exageradamente ridículo, me parece mal. Y luego, la historia, no tiene jodido sentido y la veo mal estructurada. Por no hablar del final, que me parece tan decepcionante. Osea, creo que es uno de los finales más decepcionantes que se recuerden. Me recuerda muchísimo al final de Mass Effect 3, que fue algo jodidamente decepcionante. Y escribo esta reseña desde la tristeza, no por ser un final triste, sino por la decepción tan grande que me he llevado al jugarlo. En fin, que se le va a hacer, una pena la verdad. The gameplay is also a ton of fun with the different weapons, items, stealth gameplay, movement, etc. As good as all of those things are I didn't love the story. I didn't hate the story but I do think it does drag on a bit at some points and I got annoyed at the number of flashbacks. If you ignore her killing Joel I actually like Abby and I think that playing through her story was a bit better than the revenge monster that Ellie turned into. After I finished the game I immediately deleted it but after having a few weeks off I'm thinking about installing it again just for the combat and gameplay which I guess says something.… Expand

I think that the story is amazing and extremely engaging, although a little too long, and I don't understand why the death of Joel causes fans to hate this game. Though loved by the fans, not all the in-game NPCs have to love him. He is not a hero, he is an anti-hero at best. He killed so many people for his personal gain of keeping Ellie alive. Yes his death is incredibly tragic and depressing but it would not make sense to keep him alive no matter what.

    Overall, the game is amazing. Story and Game play are both really good, especially the stealth in this game. The biggest let down of this game is the truly terrible editing. The problem is not what happens in the cut scenes, because the story told is really good, but the order in which it is shown to us, that is the real problem. The second half of playing as Abby is just terrible because we can't build a connection to her because we know how all of this is going to end.

    There was a lot of potential which made the game shine in the first half and the ending but the second half sadly is just terribly paced. However, this does not mean the game itself is "a disgrace to the first one". It is a lot of potential badly executed for half the time.    … Expand

    People are hating on this game because of it's controversial moves. Especially ending. But ending of the 1st part was contoversial too. That's what makes this game so speical. It's not about good and bad people. It's complicated and make you think a lot. Especially after ending.

    Mediocre just like the first one. No significant improvements in gameplay. Let's wait see if part 3 will improve anything, otherwise it's going to be a 3rd mod of uncharted.

Considering events of the first part I didn't like the idea of the plot - to make the main character dead at the beginning and make vengeance as plot of the whole game. Sometimes nonsense happens, especially at the final part of the game. There are also good ideas, for example, watching the story not only with the main character's eyes, with the antagonist's too. However, too much time was spent playing the second character - a half of the game. The dramatic constituent's strong, I cried several times and felt really bad for main characters. The gameplay is identical with first part's one, sadly almost no innovations. Moreover, it's extended with larger locations and dull looting. AI's stupid if medium difficulty's chosen. The whole graphics's incrediable, especially animations. A lot of time was spent on little things. Despite all these problems, I liked the game on the whole.… Expand

Где он ау, любовь между двумя персонажами вы считает это за повестку? Соглашусь концовка мне не понравилась, но концовка она и на то и концовка чтобы ставить точку на повествовании нравится вам это или нет,Игра не плоха, но не могу сказать что шедевр.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. El juego de es bueno, su gameplay es exquisito, es frenético cuando tiene que serlo y sigiloso cuando debe serlo también. Gráficamente es de lo mejor que he visto jamas. El problema es la historia, en un principio molesta la muerte Joel pero a la larga se entiende el por qué pero los hechos tan convenientes paraa que Abby se encontrará con Joel no me convence. El segundo problema y el mas grave es que te obligan a jugar con Abby mas de la mitad del juego, intentan que te encariñes con ella a la fuerza, digo okay esta bien entiendo sus motivos por el cual quería matar a Joel. Pero no era necesito extender tanto su historia con flashbacks a montones, de su relación amorosa y el trío con problemas que realmente no me interesa en lo mas mínimo para que al final no se sepa que fue de ella. Entiendo que ella terminó haciendo lo que Joel, traicióno a todos por proteger a alguien. Quiza si hubieran intercalado entre historias se hubiera hecho mas llevadero. Pero lamentablemente llega un momento en el que jugar con Abby bastante tiempo es molesto y pesado sin mencionar que las mejores secciones se las dieron a ella dejando a Ellie en un segundo plano demasiado marcado otro pequeño problema que no tiene nada que ver con homofobia es el tema forzado de las dudas y orientaciónes sexuales. Por ejemplo, hay una sección con Ellie en donde hay una calle con banderas LGBT y el pavimento pintado del mismo arcoiris y ¿realmente era necesario? Y en un local de esa misma calle hay un libro del poderío femenino ¿wtf?, sean mas discretos. El otro problema es la niña que se siente niño. ¿Really? , ese fue el personaje trans mas forzado que he visto jamas, solo faltaba que la hermana fuera bisexual. Repito no me molesta que tengan dudas de orientación, pero si que fuera TAN FORZADO. Es triste por que Naughty Dog se lave las manos diciéndole a sus fans homofobicos para justificar esta mala decisión que estoy seguro que saben que forzaron. En resumen, en juego es muy bueno, rejugable y disfrutable pero es cierto que pudo ser mejor si no lo hubieran querido hacer inclusivo y si la historia hubiera sido desarrollada de diferente manera menos pesada por la parte de Abby.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Let me start by saying that you can not give a game a 0. If it is playable and you invest 18 hours playing it you have to be honest about it.

    -Graphics, Gameplay and Sound-

    The Good:
    They did an amazing job with the graphics, the physics are amazing and the mocap is incredible. You feel the emotions, pain and fear in main characters and also the AI.
    If this the way games are going to be in the future, I am very excited.

    Sound Design is also great with top voice acting and ambiance. The gameplay is improved this time a round. I liked the dodge system (unlike the RE 3) tough it made things a bit too easy for my taste.
    The feel and sound of the weapons are amazing. I love to grind and max out stuff so I had lots of fun doing that, But I can imagine that some will not find it innovative. I liked the upgrade system and it is very effective.

    Liked the fact that it was a bit open worldly, you can explore a bit and tough you only find some lore and items it was still fun to do and not as a time waster. Locations are detailed and the weather effects are amazing.

    Loved the Horror missions, tough too few and far in between, but for those who know I wish most of the game was like the Ground Zero mission.

    The Bad:
    The have achieved a mile stone with this game yet there some things that makes you wish the had put more time in de AI. In de missions that you are playing with a companion, the enemies are all blind to their existence. People are walking in the middle of the road and AI is screaming where are they?

    I played the game in Hard difficulty and after a couple of upgrades it felt like being Rambo running around stealth kill everyone. It still bothers me that a metal pipe breaks after four hits but hey on the other hand the melee weapons are way to overpowered, specially with upgrades.

    They game is too focused on the people and human enemies, I wish it was more Survival horror like the first game. I think I ruined for myself by grinding too much, there was not a moment I was out of ammo, I stealth kill a lot and the fact that Ellie has a knife makes killing clickers like they are normal infected. I did not feel the fear like the first game in my stomach after a while I was hunting them like it was nothing. Still I give the gameplay a high score, it is very solid and seamless.

    What a let down. I did not read or see any reviews and went in totally blank. I do not give a damn about politics, sexuality or having an agenda. I Just wanted to see what unfolds for two of the gaming beloved characters Joel and Ellie.

    Lots of people were turned off when Joel died, man o man it felt very senseless and pushed.
    It did not have the same effect on me when Joels daughter died in the first one. I think they took a big gamble on that and it failed. First thing I said to myself was, this a revenge story then.

    They should have build op tot that, it happened way too early in my opinion. I loved Joel in the first one and his killing was senseless, but hey murder is senseless.

    Knowing the social climate we live in (specially in United States), I was not to bothered with female empowerment message they are going for. I do not like the design of Abby yet I did not hate her enough to send death threats to the voice actress (what a bunch of yoyos).

    The focus was directly shifted to Abby, Joel is dead and what else can Ellie do except going for revenge. There is no depth in the story. The whole LGBT aspect of the game adds nothing to personality of the characters. After-all the game is about survival of the human race. Sexuality, gender and race does not add anything to the story in my opinion.

    There is not a shock or surprise moment in this game. You know and feel exactly, who will die and at what moment. A narrow opening to go trough on the end of the level, Ambush Time. You read some lore stuff about WLF and Scars but their motives are very straight forward. Everyone is walking around trying to kill each other for their turf.

    Ellie is killing everything and everyone, there is no element of real danger. I wished I could just hide and run a way to finish the game (you probably can) but the game just makes you kill everything.
    I was more shocked when dogs and horses died, than some characters in this game.

    I do not hate Abby. After Ellie killed a pregnant woman, I was done with her. What redeeming factor is left for her? You can not root for her anymore. I started bonding with Abby and her friends.
    Abby was even more remorseful than Ellie. I did not care anymore what happens to Ellie.

    Ending resolves nothing, you sit there thinking what the story teller is trying to say? Ellie as a character is destroyed. LOU Part 3 should just start with a new character or never come out. There is no reason to reply this game, no extra stories or multiplayer.

The game comes with it's fair share of issues, the first that i ran into was animation skipping or jumping (Game skips frames of animation during cutscenes or action that are taken like pushing open a door, hopping over cars or tables. the second issue i had when playing the game is with Melee and hand-to-hand combat, the camera freaks out and you lose control of the camera if you dodge while moving the right stick sometimes. the 3rd issue i ran into was texture glitches, parts of flowing water were Yellow when flowing and i frequently saw wall and fire textures glitching all over the place. thats pretty much it for issues based on what i saw. The Story was kinda Convoluted at times, for example why have Lev go to the Seraphites island to talk to his mother knowing full well what that outcome was gonna be, or why have Tommy be alive when he was clearly shot in the head (to me it looked like he got hit directly). but to end off this review, i would like to give this game a 6.5 to a 7 out of 10.… Expand

It's so fascinating how people are still fighting about this game and how divided the fan base is but if it wasn't clear before it should be now for all level headed people . The Last of Us 2 is not a masterpiece and it's not the worst game ever deserving of anything under a 4 (I get that people are trying to be heard but come on)

    So here's a few hot takes of mines as well since everyone has chimed in . Let's start of with some facts

    Is Joel disrespected in this game? No
    Is Abby a terrible character and a Mary Sue? **** Yes
    Are the side characters bad? Yes
    Is the pacing off and the game too long? Yes
    Is the story unsalvagable and/or complete trash? No
    Is the ending bad? Yes...somewhat
    Is the game woke? Yes
    Is the gameplay good? Absolutely
    Is the attention to detail award worthy? Most definitely

    Now let's break down those statements shall we?

    First of all Joel is not disrespected in this game in the slightest . Was the false trailers and fake interviews a **** move? Yes , is the slight retcon of the final events of the first game a ploy to further demonize his actions? Yes but that's as far as it goes . The entire story is dedicated around Joel and he is used to motivate you to do what you have to do and if that wasn't enough the end credit song if you pay attention to the lyrics is both sad and incredibly beautiful for both Ellie and Joel

    Second most talked about aspect of the game is of course Abby . Once again Neil Druckmann was caught lying that you only get to play as Ellie and that's undoubtedly a **** move no matter how you try to justify it but that wouldn't have been a problem if the character was you know ....good . I could go on and on with all the contrivances and **** plot points the game has to make you care for her but I'll just say that Abby is a Mary Sue and kindly direct you to TV Tropes just to see how many character trait boxes she checks . If after reading those you still aren't convinced then we have nothing further to discuss

    Thirdly we go the side characters who are mostly terrible . Dina is just OK and her relationship with Ellie has zero chemistry , Jesse is a pointless character and only there to be a sperm dispenser and a body for someone to kill (Seriously what happened to the teased love triangle?) , Tommy is all over the place being a badass the one second and a buffoon the next , Abby's friends are all annoying and you are glad to finally kill them despite the games efforts to make you care and the siblings are fine for what they are but their relationship with Abby is forced , manipulative and badly paced

    At number four we have the pacing/length . A lot of people liked the first open area with Ellie but I ****ing hated it as it was way WAY too long for it's own good and kills the opening hours of the game . Abby's trip to the aquarium also takes way too ****ing long and the pointless flashbacks do nothing but regurgitate stuff we already knew and beat you over the head with "hey they aren't so different after all and perspective matters" stuff which are fine in moderation but they took it way too far

    Fifth is the story and is it all bad? No but the writing is all over the place as you truly question if subsequent scenes were written by the same person . You go from cringe , to emotional to cringe , to compelled rinse and repeat

    Sixth is the ending and is it bad? Yes due to Abby's poor character development and the games super fun combat which gives mixed messages . I get the sentiment but boy it didn't work . The ending credits song salvaged it though but I doubt that they have the balls to do what the lyrics imply

    Seventh is the game woke? LOL at pregnant women on the field , the Abby sex scene and the baby in general

    Eight I'm going to combine the final two points into one . The Last of Us Part II is a blast to play and literally every game after it will feel like **** in comparison mostly due to the amazing animations . Graphics , attention to detail? Best in the business especially because it was created for an even by 2013 standards underpowered console . Sound design? Excellent , Cinematography? Fantastic , Voice acting? top notch ...

    The Last of Us Part II is flawed game but a good one nonetheless . Add to all the above the fact that it released without bugs or massive day 1 patches and all the accessibility options and I can see how people appreciate it more than others . However this becomes a fault when the sequel offers little difference in gameplay compared to the original. Same mechanics, same strategy to surviving, same everything pretty well. There wasn't too much "new" things added to justify a sequel, which makes it seem more like a story expansion instead of a full sequel. Perhaps the oversaturation of the genre over the years has left this feeling stale? Which is all the more reason it feels like there should have been something different to distinguish itself from the other games in this genre.

    Next, visuals and sound design. As per it's predecessor, it's graphics and game design remains a staple example in it's generation as an echelon to reach, with amazing landscape design and animation. Sounds from the first have been enhance, such as sounds made by certain enemy types. Overall, great sound and visuals.

    Lastly, the thing that made the first such a huge success, the story. Without giving too much away, it lacks in comparison to the first, which was a given to be expected considering the first had one of the best stories in gaming history. Now, this does not mean the story is terrible, once again, it deals with tragic, sad, and endearing elements present in the first game, and expands upon the original, but the quality narrative didn't transfer as well to the sequel. Still a GOOD story, but not AS groundbreaking as the first.

    In conclusion, while it's debated on whether or not this is a "worthy sequel," it's a sequel none the less, and if you love the first, this is definitely worth a try.    … Expand

She actually has some pretty interesting sections and is kind of fun to play as, but there are obvious reasons during the game that makes players apprehensive to playing as Abby for the rest of the game after a specific moment in the first few hours of the game. Also, Elle seems to be a lot less "likeable" this time around because of her interactions with Joel and her choices in later sections of the game, specifically the ending conflicts. But I'm not going to over explain, if I were rating on gameplay and graphics alone, it would be a 10/10. But story and characters acting somewhat out of character, definitely pulls it down.     It's a fine game. The graphics, animations, sounds are great. The story and gameplay are not so much. It varies too much and the characters motives don't make sense. I constantly disagreed with what was happening and the game never gave me a choice as the player. I could just have watched this as a movie or a very drawn out series and I would've probably fell asleep and abandoned it.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The last of us part 2 is a game filled with tregedy. This ranges from the multiple stories it tells, to the way you deal with you enemies or your enemies deals with you.

    The game does great building suspense and keeps your heart rate level elevated throughout its many dangerous encounters, however the way in witch these encounters are presented, does become repetitive after a while.

    The greatest tragedy told by this game, is in its story. Now that I have finished the game, I believe the game was killed off, by the killing of Joel. Everything after the game's opening 2 hours, just became a lot of background noise and senseless actions and questionable decisions by the other characters of the story.

    Many times later in the game, especially when Abby's story got told, I was feeling that the developers are now just trying to drag out something. I did not associate with any of the characters in Abby's crew, besides the dog. The only sympathy I had at the end of her story, was the killing of her dog, and that's it.

    Unfortunately, there can be no way back for this what should have been an exceptional game series from here.    … Expand

    Its pretty good but by no stretch of the imagination a real strong point of this game, combat can feel repetitive, options feel very limited, controls feel a little clunky and counter intuitive, would have liked a final fantasy 7 remake menu thing where time slows right down when you pop into a menu to give you a second to think about what you wanna pull out.

    Replayability: 3/10

    This game is HEAVILY story based, a lot of games are going down this road lately which can make a first playthrough engaging but so much of this game is going through story points in not always a particularly engaging way that now im familiar with the story id be surprised if i play this through more than a handfull of times again.    … Expand

The first few hours were compelling and emotionally driven but the other 2/3 of the game purely drags two unispired characters in Ellie and Abby. Ellie has been striped of any personality trait and just becomes this emotionally wreckles train from one scene to the other while Abby is the personification of super woman since she can't be hurt by anything or anyone, the only times she cries it seems very forced and for the rest of her scenes and gameplay there is just not enough weight to carry an emotional compelling story. After dragging me through 16 hours of Abby time I find myself in California trying to finally kill the killer of my favorite character. Only to finish with the character who was suppose to kill her setting her free.

    Now I get it, I really get the message, it's powerful but because it reconnects to Joel. That final scene were she can't play the guitar correctly because she lost her two fingers, it was heartbreaking but it needed for her to finish what she started even if it cost her what little humanity she had left. That would've been a devastatingly beautiful ending on this crazy world. But here we are, and to be very clear with this, I don't hate this game, I don't hate Abby or any of the new characters, this is not about hate, it's about dissatisfaction with a story that promised a full arc and only delivered half of it. As Joel very well stated: "I wish things would've been differente but they ain't."    … Expand

    To be honest, this game is truly a masterpiece if we talk about graphics. I enjoyed the gameplay so much, i can't describe it; you can literally feel every characters' move.

    Despite, there are some illogical moments with your companions' detection. They can not be detected by enemies at all. They are like ghosts before the fight starts. I also didn’t think that I would play half of the game for Abby unknown to me (I couldn’t penetrate this character). And the ending pleasantly surprised and even shocked me, on the one hand it looks like some kind of arthouse, but on the other it’s quite interesting and open to continue ending. But because of Ellie’s last act, I was furious because I thought that I had been playing for 30 hours in vain for such a result.     I believe that, The Last of Us 2 was not the sequel we wanted, nevertheless it was an extremely "real" sequel. It's a fact that everyone's time in an apocalyptic afterworld is ticking, in this instance Joel was next in line. But here is what I think of Joel's death. 7 years ago, we were introduced to one of the most iconic video game protagonists in the history of gaming. A father figure, we came to cherish and love with our hearts. 7 years passed, some of us relived The Last of Us both on PS3 and PS4, and our love for Joel deepened on account of the game aging so well, much like wine.
    But here's the sitch, by now, we as gamers are used to the hero winning, him coming out on top or having a hero's death, but that is not "real". What is real is that much like everyone, Joel's time too was ticking, 24 years of surviving was a mixture of experience and luck, luck which ultimately ran out and experience that was futile against Abby and her crew. The story whether we like it or not told a "real" tale of hopelessness. In truth we wanted a Joel and Ellie team up game where they kicked ass and reminded us of our times back 7 years ago, we wanted the bonding moments to make us feel that Joel and Ellie were not just fictional characters in a game but people we know, feel for and want to succeed in life. Ellie was meant to be written well but the reason why we probably didn't like her as much was because we could not get over the fact that she grew up and distanced herself from Joel because of his surgery secret coming out. In the end, Ellie gets not just the life but the ending that we the players did not want to see. Again, counting on this being "real" phenomenon really bugged me, games are supposed to make me feel like things are going to be ok, make me know that the characters i spend time with are going to come out on top or at least be respected when they pass away. Although it is hard for me, I still somewhat respect the way Naughty Dog went on with the game, it is hard to dislike a company many of us grew up with just for one game. I know, TLOU is not a game serious any of us wanted to see go down this path but it did, thats it. its out there, and people either like it or hate it.
    I believe that the gay scenes could have been directed better, trying to do something as new as this, simply came off as if they were trying too hard to send a message. And that's where the controversies laid their eggs I think. In the end, at times it feels like even Naughty Dog was uncomfortable and was forcibly sprinkling homosexual innuendoes into the game. I believe the romance Between Ellie and Dina could have been far more beautiful IF IT STRETCHED THROUGHOUT THE GAME AND MADE ME FEEL FOR DINA AND WHAT SHE MEANS TO ELLIE. Thats why I loved Joel, we spent the most of the entire game as him, we know his story and we know his pain. TLOU 2 was supposed to be a revenge story but it gave me little to want revenge. I'm just going to say it, forgive me brothers and sisters, but i kinda did like Abby, if thats what devs wanted then they succeeded. I did not view this game as a political statement, rather as a blueprint of what mistakes one should avoid in storytelling. Abby's story showed me that, literally everyone has a story, TLOU just turned out to be a story about a man and a little girl, a story which could have been even about a mother surviving with her newborn baby (A Quiet Place style). Abby was not a bad character, yes I strongly disliked her for killing Joel, but I honestly feel like her character development was better that that of Ellie in this game. Unpopular opinion I know. Don't judge me but my favourite character in Game of Thrones was Ramsey, so yeah, I like to see new character developments.
    Anyway, I firmly believe that this game should have been third one in the series, and if the devs were adamant on killing off Joel then I'm willing to make sacrifices, just please, PLEASE, if they killed Joel they could have given us a Gandalf falls with the Balrog in LOTR kind of vibe. And someone has to say this, this game needed more Gustavo Santaolalla and the original score in my honest opinion.
    Bottom line is, it looks like many disliked Abby and still didn't care for her backstory. I think trying to evade her as she hunts Joel for the entire game would've been more interesting. In the end Joel and Ellie fail and Abby kills Joel. Joel dies in Ellie's hands while the TLOU music plays and Ellie quietly whispers DON'T DO THIS TO ME (like Joel and Sarah in the first Game).

It felt like playing the Last of us 3, there was just too much missing and it felt convoluted. I felt like Abby was the main character and not Ellie. Even Abby's story was more fun and interesting. The game reaches some high points but then suddenly crashes as you switch back to Ellie/Ally. Also I felt like they were pushing afemnisist narrative on me after seeing a pregnant lady running,climbing, and fighting zombies for no apparent reason other than too look strong and tough.… Expand

    When the game starts you see many improvements to the core aspect of the game with a more open world rather than the normal linear formula that Naughty Dog is known for. This is pushed further thanks to the amazing graphics something that the original achieved also however Naughty Dog has improved further on this.

    The biggest fault comes with the story. While other games may get away with bad stories a game that is based around its story and what made the original such an amazing game faulters hard. There is so much missing it feels like the story was a rush job created on a SFJ groups homework page. However this is made even more apparent when you take into consideration that amount of detail in the world and its surrounding reaching borderline obsesive. The story on the other hand seems an after thought not the main focus. Even when characters die thats it. Characters that die are forgotten just as quick as they were there. There is no detailed respect show for there deaths and no second thought. This makes these secondary characters none essential and no emotional link is ever really made.

    Pero lamentablemente la historia (PORQUE PARA MI LA HISTORIA ES LO QUE LO HACE FAMOSO) por mas que Neil Druckman merece todo por la primera parte, pero por mas que quieran demostrar una historia para darnos una "enseñansa", la historia no debió ser asi, lo siento pero la historia es pésima, da pena verlo y aceptarlo, mucha confusión por mas que hayan lineas de tiempo pero llegan horas en las que extrañamos a Ellie y a Joel y nadie quiere saber quien es Abby. Este videojuego podría ser una completa obra maestra, pero tiene un fallo que arruina prácticamente la mitad del juego, que es la parte de Abby. En mi opinión, esta parte se alarga demasiado e innecesariamente. Pero sin duda, si esta parte se hubiese resumida a 1 hora o 45 minutos, estaríamos hablando de uno de los mejores juegos de la historia. Recibe mucho hate, aparte de por lo que ya sabemos de la intolerancia, porque es un juego que invita a pensar más de lo que estamos acostumbrados, y a mira más allá de nuestra conveniencia. Quizás no consigue que el jugador empatice 100% con Abby, porque mató a Joel, y por lo que ya he dicho antes. Pero a nivel gráfico y de animaciones, detalles etc. es un 10/10 indudablemente. La historia puede tener algunas lagunas, pero no es tan mala como nos quieren pintar. Tiene momentos muy duros como la muerte de Joel (o de casi todos los personajes xdd), pero el tener tantas muertes es la representación de la atmósfera de negatividad que crea el juego. Esa sensación de que todo sale mal, de que ya no hay razones para seguir viviendo... escalofriante. Le bajo 3 puntos porque las partes de Abby son muy aburrridas y su historia no tiene mucho sentido, además de que es un personaje muy poco carismático. También le bajo nota porque tiene personajes muy olvidables y poco trascendentales en la historia. They took a gamble and in my opinion, lost that bet. Oh and the gameplay, graphics, soundtrack, audio, and actor performances were unprecedented. Really good.

    I like that they did not go with a traditional form of story telling. Instead of the typical “hero’s journey”, they did something completely different and I respect them for it. I loved the idea of a tragic ending where ultimately, no one wins. Our characters who we love give in to an emotion that we should all hate - revenge - and allow it to ruin their lives. A perfect testament to the human condition. It was not a typical feel good, story book ending. It resembled real life consequences of actions (in this case post apocalyptic).

    The negative:

    Wow, this could have been so much better. The story was in fact a let down, considering what they could have done. After listening to Neil druckman talk about it on podcasts, it sounds like they made way too many revisions from the initial base. Their original ideas actually sounded way better than the final product. Playing as Abby was great, and again, I get what they were going for but it could have been done so much better. And they definitely did crow bar in some of their social ideology. Again, I respect that, but at what point is it pandering? I love giving certain groups of people platforms of recognition and empowerment but, it felt so forced.    … Expand

NPC (unlike previous games) have names and react when one of their fellow mates get killed. The game is gruesome and violent but that is to be expected given the current state of the world in the Last of Us. It's also amazing what Naughty dog has achieved graphically on a PS4 Pro where the game is running on 1440p@30fps.

    Unfortunately, on the other hand, the story has left me with a lot to desire. The first few hours feel rushed and questionable, however, I thought this would lead to an ending not possible without taking this direction. However, the ending has to be one of the worst game endings of a AAA game in recent memory. Character-wise it makes no sense. I don't want to post any spoilers so I will say this. "It can't all be for nothing" would describe part I. "It was all for nothing" would describe part II.    … Expand

    The story is mostly good, but it falls apart as time goes on. It doesn't play out it should, plus is filled with a lot of questionable narrative choices that simply shouldn't exist in a AAA story focused game. It's also way too long.

    The biggest issue is the marriage of gameplay and narrative. They do not gel. Naughty dog seem to have taken no notes on the critiscm of the gameplay in the first game, as its basically unchanged (wow, we get a jump button). Another issue is with the games 'woke' mentality. No this isn't a sjw jerk fest like a lot of people make it out, BUT it isn't completely innocent either, with the story dumping ideas that only seems to annoy angry incels, rather than pull you forward.

    Самое худшее для меня, это персонажи, которые не интересны. Дина самый слабый персонаж, можно было вырезать из игры и все стало бы лучше.
    Так же ноти доги прогнулись абсолютно перед всеми, кроме тех перед кем реально нужно было. В игре одни фемки, трансы, лесби и чёрные. Нет ни одной симпатичной девушки, почти нет ни одного сильного мужика лидера, с если и есть, то его обязательно выпилят, например Джоэл или Мэнни, моя оценка 7/10

    ** The story : this is the most controversial point of this game and the weakest aspect in my opinion , the story start in the first 30 min or soo with good start but after one major event the story become expected the dialogues between character is most of the part boring ( other then the ones between joel and Ellie ) don't get me wrong there is moments of the story that are good but they are very few of them , the second half of the game is its biggest problem of this game , the game wants you understand and sympathize with other characters and with that make the first game as if it does not exist the new characters are boring and there motivation are vague for the most part . I didn't like the story i tried to but I couldn't .

    Conclusion : this game did a lot of wrong Choices especially on the story with a few good things this game could've been save if didn't add the second half of the game and " the killing is bad " message , when TLOU2 raveled I expected more , far more then what I get from it. . it's a good game (7.5/10) but as a sequal is bad and make no consideration of the first one , there is more to say about this game but I tried to keep it spoiler-free .    … Expand

And the majority of players shows, that it's not the way they're supposed to do and they will make a better tlou part than this one...     Ok... so I came I to this game with High Hope's as I really loved the 1st one and I avoided the spoilers like the plague...but to be honest other than graphics improving and controls feeling smoother... this game didn't really do anything New. Not really anything that made me stop and say, "Wow, that is crazy" and there was many moments like that in the 1st game. The characters seem watered down compared to the struggle in the 1st game for me. It feels like a step back in the overall story and character department which is very disappointing as Ellie and Joel are 2 of my favorite game characters. It also feels like the shocking stuff in this game is just there to shyamalan twist you and feels forced. Overall I had fun. But the experience was average compared to the 1st games extraordinary story. I would still recommend buying if you enjoyed the first one but I personally regret not waiting for a price drop as this game does nothing as extravagant and eye catching as the first. It also got a little repetitive. The graphics are top notch tho and gorgeous so if that's why you play games this is a must, but I assume you are like me and graphics fall in importance behind story and gameplay. Honestly I had fun playing, but I probably wouldn't play thru again... (and I have beat the 1st one like 3 times mind you)... just my 2 cents tho, I am by no means a pro reviewer but I would recommend waiting for a price drop unless you are just a Last of Us fiend, in which case prepare for some heartbreak in the story/character department… Expand

Es imposible tragarse el final de Ellie perdonando a Abby por el simple hecho de que es contradictorio con el gameplay y los sucesos de la historia, como jugadores no nos quedaremos satisfechos con esa conclusión, aquí si hubiera estado genial una opción de "matar o perdonar".
    ND no supo llevar una historia de manera decente y como dije, el juego a pesar de no ser malo si va a amargarle el día a más de uno por lo decepcionante que es, con un final contradictorio y poco satisfactorio no puedo creer el 10/10. Que este suceso sirva de experiencia para aquellos que se fían demasiado de la crítica "especializada" que claramente no es objetiva.    … Expand

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
