    Gorgeous visuals, smooth gameplay, well-crafted world... and a main character you can't emphatize with. A story that's driven only by revenge and nothing else... and that's a step back from the original, which had a HUGE HEART in the middle of it. Character progession is tangibile only on the skill trees, not in the development of the protagonist... TLOU2 is what the Lost Legacy was forGorgeous visuals, smooth gameplay, well-crafted world... and a main character you can't emphatize with.     After finishing the game this is what I can say about it.
    No SJW propaganda to be found. In fact all of the LGBT stuff is handled miserably.

    The premise still suck. A random daughter of a random NPC seeks revenge and it takes her 6 years to find out and conveniently they meet each other.
    This game contains a lot of useless scenes which only purpose is the shock-value, but there's no substance behind them. For example, a dog is killed and characters make a big deal out of it for 2 seconds! Yep, 2 seconds. After this, everything is forgotten.
    "ThIs WoMaN wAs/Is PrEgNanT aNd You ShOuLd FeEl BaD aBoUt It!!!1!" used at least 3 times.
    It's not like everyone in the The Last of Us universe is a piece of **** who has killed countless of other people.
    Another character (jesse) dies, and he's forgotten immediately only to be mentioned again in few sentences just to underline "hey, we haven't forgotten him!!!".

    The plot overall would have been fine if not for pathetic inconsistencies and an invisible hand moving the strings.
    For example. Joel becomes a clueless idiot for the sake of drama. This guy barely trusted himself in the first game, but now writers want you to believe he has softened over the past 5 years.
    Which again, would make sense. Too bad that the apocalypse is still going on you know, even if the game has forgotten about it.
    For real, infected are just random NPCs now. Nobody cares about them, nobody seem to look for a solution (funny, huh?). The apocalypse doesn't even exists.

    Abby is a professional sniper when the plot wants (I'm not even exaggerating, she kills Jesse with one shot to the head after he enters a room running!!!), but becomes 100% clueless when she has to kill Ellie and Tommy.
    How do we call this? Yes, plot armor. Literally, Abby wants to kill Tommy but for whatever reason she doesn't. It happens 3 times.
    Ellie wants to kill Abby but for whatever reason she doesn't.
    And so on.
    Not to mention that Abby seems The Rock or a bootleg wrestler depending on what the writers are trying to accomplish. Which is to say that they don't even know what they're after if in one scene her strenght is brutal, and in the other she can't do ****.

    The ending. Boy oh boy, what a crap one. Look, I don't even care if Ellie lets Abby live, but ffs, in 2020 you can't come up with something better than the most pathetic cliché ever?
    Basically "omG, rEvEnGe Is BaD".
    Freaking hell!!!! You've killed hundreds of people, and you realize it at the end through a flashback?

    I've seen some people justifying this with "Ellie suffers from PTSD". What's this? Another case of "let's look what Lara Croft does?".
    But anyway: are you for real?
    She was 13 in the first game when a freak tried to rape her. It took her 6 years to develop PTSD?
    LMAO @ this.

    Gameplay is basically an improved version of the first game. Movements are more fluid, but still nothing to write home about.
    Jumps still feel clunky/scripted.
    Animations are top notch as usual.
    Mechanics are still the same. Which is the most baffling thing, because they were outdated even in 2013.
    IA is much better. Although, as usual, no peripheral vision whatsoever: and this is very easy to exploit. If you move fast enough when you're in close range, basically the gameplay becomes ridiculous. Because enemies have trouble spotting you and their reaction time is slow when up-close.
    Level design is excellent in the arenas. Otherwise it's just the usual "follow this line".

    On the long run, the gameplay becomes repetitive. I mean, it took me 23 hours to finish the game and the second half still plays the same as the first one (if you are a stealth player that is).

    TL;DR good gameplay, good level design, mediocre writing, uninspired plot.
    Certainly not the 95/100 (huge WTF) "professional" want you to believe. Not even close to be a 9/10.    … Expand

    Cons: Switching protagonists for an unknown period of time reduced my investment in resource/skill management system. The narrative non-linearity was needlessly convoluted (e.g. a flashback inside another flashback, inside the protagonist swap). Strange pacing in the last quarter, it kept feeling like it was about to end. Unrealistic survival after extreme repeated injuries.

    Conclusion: I replayed the first game several times, and kept it on my shelf almost like a trophy. Part 2 is worth your time and money, being better than the vast majority of games and better than Part 1 in some ways. It continues the story, and I respect that expectations were high. There's absolutely no way these people gave this game a legitimate chance with not even a day with the game out. TLoUP2 has been an extraordinary and brilliant ride It had took me 5 days to complete it on hard and let me tell you it exceeded all of my expectations even after being spoiled by "fans".

    I don't know what people expected when Joel murdered, butchered the last of the Fireflies in salt lake and ruining mankind's hope for a cure. And then not have any repercussions with their kin let alone the daughter of one. It's the apocalypse... people don't understand that Joel was an anti hero, also lied to Ellie for years leaving her feeling unsure with herself. So now that that's explained we can moved passed first impressions from the spoilers.

    This game left me feeling all kinds of emotions during my play through in a good way hitting all the right notes
    -Gameplay
    The gameplay is soo buttery smooth and satisfying with insane levels of detail and gore! It requires you to create from its move set. And It is as good or as bad as the player wants it to be. It's a bunch of kill rooms, but how you approach it is all up to you. People that **** on its gameplay simply suck or lack creativity. This allows it to feel really unique and dynamic and has all kinds of customizing I love it.

    -Graphics and Atmosphere
    There's not much to say except it's insane what Naughty Dog was able to achieve with 2013 tech they are on a completely different playing field in this regard. TLoUP2 has the best graphics than anything I've seen so far, already looks next gen! With only RDR2 ever coming close to this level of graphical detail and animation.

    -Sound and Music
    Everything's just perfect in this department from gun sound design to the way enemies react to your every move, one of the only games where NPCs actually feels like a unit and knows one another, and carry's weight when you kill one of them. And the Infected sound better than ever. As for the music it's masterful.

    -Story
    Last but not least to most controversial, the story. It gets a lot **** for the simple fact that Joel dies and then you have to play as his killer, Abby. But what they skip is Abby's redemption I'm not gonna lie I enjoyed playing as her more than I did Ellie. This story is so intricately designed where everything is interwoven and brilliantly executed in my opinion. They managed to make me sympathize for Abby and understand her views and in the mean time become one of the best parts in the game and personally one of my favorite characters.

    The story is one hell of a journey and unforgettable to say the least leaving you in awe in what you just experienced. I only have one gripe with the narrative though and It's that Abby never tells Ellie that Joel killed her father, let alone have a conversation. But I guess you can understand the simplicity of it, that there's too much hatred/sadness for one another to simply mend with dialog. Once you take your first steps in this game it feels astronomical. In my opinion this game is a solid 9.5/10 and 100% a GOTY contender.    … Expand

There is so much good in this game, from a technical point of view, but because this is a story-based game, many, including myself, will focus primarily on the story and the characters. And unfortunately those later aspects are by far the weakest.     I have played it and I don't think it's a masterpiece. Lot's of gameplay issues and story related faults.

    Being progressive in general I had no issues whatsoever with gay or transgender characters. Simply put it just wasn't a great game.

    For the positives, the graphics for this game are beautiful. They are up there with Red Dead Redemption 2 for the best graphics that I have seen in a video game. Another positive for me was Abby. I felt like Abby's story progressed a lot further than Ellies and I felt like I could understand her motives for what she did.

    My main gripe with the game is Ellie herself, I felt that she took a step back from what made her so great in the first game. She lost her sense of humour, and was reduced to a bitter former shell of herself. I didn't enjoy her sections as much and her dialogue was rather dry and boring. If it wasn't for Dina keeping some element of humour in the levels, it could have been worse.

    My other issue is the clunky combat. I have never really been a fan of Naughty Dog's combat system. The combat feels clustered and tedious. The enemy AI is also ridiculously funny as they can't even see me from directly in front of them.

    Last of Us Part 2 is a good game and it definitely has some strong elements that keep it engaging. But my dislike for Ellie in this game and the clunky combat keep me from giving this game a higher score. It is a good game but definitely not game of the year, FF7 Remake, Doom Eternal, and Animal Crossing all rate higher for me.    … Expand

    Far too fortuitous events make this story less believable, key characters just meet at random, and the outcome of their interaction is sometimes just there for shock value or to get the storyline going in a short amount of time.

    Alright so this is a hard one...
    You know sometimes developer makes harsh choices, sad turn of events and difficult decisions, sometimes its actually good when the story was unpredictable and people really had no idea what was coming and it feels good and you feel absolutely beaten by the epic twist and turn of the game, but it is not always the case, for this game at least.
    Because as    Alright so this is a hard one...

Considering that statements Naughty Dog had a lot of flaws here, they did not have any sense or idea that it would leave a negative impact on the people, they completely neglected the male part of the story literally killed every single male alive leaving it a feminist's game, and they messed up real bad with the story, a sadness which I may not overcome for a shortwhile because they did it and nobody wanted it, none expected it, and probably no one liked it.    … Expand

    I feel lied to. Im just gonna say it, I wish game trailers didn't false advertise what we were going to buy. I was one of the people defending this game before it even came out and at the end I was disappointed.

    Let me be clear the graphics and visuals of this game are top notch like the greatest I have ever seen or experienced. But it just goes to show that you cant have a good game    I feel lied to. Killing Joel the way they did and how early in the game made me un-invested throughout the rest of the game.

    I tried my hardest to be open minded about playing as Abby but I just couldn't find any sympathy. After everything Ellie went through to try and kill her she couldn't just pull out her gun and finish it. This back and forth revenge on each other felt very childish and unoriginal.

    Over all I did enjoy this game to some extend and don't regret buying this game. I do however wish ND would have did things differently.    … Expand

Подводя итог отмечу не считаю игру плохой, не считаю и идеальной, просто лично мое мнение, они решили особо ничего не меняя повторить успех, просто сделав тоже самое, но хуже проработав сюжет. Не буду ничего говорить про ЛГБТ в игре, мне абсолютно не интересна эта тема, но я ни капли не считаю что это игра про феминисток или ЛГБТ. Если вы обращаете внимание на глупые придирки к небольшим вкрапления ЛГБТ, которые будем честны, были нужные разработчикам, дабы угодить меньшинствам и не получить неоправданного хейта с их стороны. Я высказал свое мнение, кто-то может быть согласен, кто-то нет, но это моя позиция и я считаю именно так. Рекомендовать игру или нет, не знаю, красивая игра, которая может разочаровать поклонников 1 части, но может также их и обрадовать, смотря чего они ожидали от сиквела.… Expand

Столько лет ждали достойного продолжения шедевра в лице 1 части, а получили невероятно красивую игру с невероятно бредовым сюжетом. Сони, я надеюсь вы сделаете выводы и не будете давать уж слишком "творческих" свобод вашим "гениям".Технически игра бесподобна!     I am not hear to bash the game or indeed elevate it because I am on any side but i'll leave this here.

    The game is not so terrible it really isn't, sure some things in the story just don't seem to add up but I guess I can forgive that. The issues however are many and I will try to explain. Graphics: yes they seem nice especially the outside visuals of landscapes but faces at times    I am not hear to bash the game or indeed elevate it because I am on any side but i'll leave this here.

    The game is not so terrible it really isn't, sure some things in the story just don't seem to add up but I guess I can forgive that. The issues however are many and I will try to explain.

    Graphics: yes they seem nice especially the outside visuals of landscapes but faces at times seem utterly weird and not in keeping with the rest of the game. When I see people say the graphics are 10/10 i just laugh because there are some really poor ones.

    Gameplay: It is I am afraid to say quite dated in the way it works but the worst thing is the jump system which seems to fail for no reason and they even include a easy jump version in the controls. This should tell you that they knew it was bad but decided to do nothing about that.
    The game had some very boring parts in my humble opinion and just seemed to be there to stretch the game out.

    Sound: Very nice and I cant say too much negative about it

    All in all not a bad game but a disappointment none the less, If ND wanted to make a political statement they should have done so via twitter because some of this stuff does not need to be in games. Woke culture is bleeding into too much stuff these days. The way ND and Sony handled the leak was terrible but that does not effect my score at all.    … Expand

    Everything in this game is over the top of the best possible game except Story...
    Funny thing is Niel Drukman (Writer and Director) himself is responsible for this mess and the reason this phenomenal masterpiece wont sell like skyrocket!
    Your non sense policy and ... Destroyed this game.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Antes de empezar, he jugado al juego entero, y esta critica es para intentar ayudar a esas personas que todavía no saben si comprarlo o no, así que seré breve:

    Puntos positivos:

    Gráficos: es de lo mejor que he visto hasta la fecha, en algunos planos y escenas directamente parece que sea de verdad, como en una película.

    Doblaje sublime, de lo mejor que hay ahora mismo en videojuegos.

    Narrativa / historia / guión: Pese a que tiene cosas realmente malas y deficientes, también tiene otras partes que son muy buenas, mejores que el de cualquier otro videojuego "normal".

    Puntos Negativos:

    Gameplay repetitivo y algo aburrido. No es como si innovasen mucho con el primer juego, y sinceramente algunas veces se vuelve muy repetitivo y fácil. Eso le resta muchos puntos a mi parecer, porque no se lo han currado al nivel de lo demás.

    Agenda política y giliprogresismo: Lo de siempre, incluir con calzador temas que no casan con esta saga. Puedo entender (y disfrutar) que Elly sea lesbiana y haya una relación homosexual. De hecho es una de las cosas que mas he disfrutado de la trama, pero mas allá de eso el resto de tonterías sobran. No es necesario intentar hacer que el hombre blanco sea el malo siempre, y la gente homosexual las victimas. ESTO EN LA VIDA REAL y en el 2020 NO ES ASÍ y ya va siendo hora de dejar el lavado de cerebro. Y lo digo YO, que soy bisexual. Creo que no casa incluir tantos personajes homosexuales, transexuales y demás... no por nada, sino porque queda muy forzado y destroza la trama.

    Guión lamentable en algunos puntos de la historia, encontrando a ciertos personajes con otros de forma "casual" a conveniencia de la trama. Me esperaba un guión de un nivel muy superior al mostrado, me esperaba una historia mejor elaborada, mejor pensada, que los personajes sean capaces de solucionar los problemas de forma inteligente, y no con deus ex machinas constantes y casualidades estúpidas.

    PRENSA: Estáis escondiendo la existencia de ciertos personajes a propósito, y eso no está bien. Y Lo peor de todo es que Abby no es un mal personaje, pero toda la gente lo va a odiar por vuestra culpa.

    Lo dicho, le pongo un 7 por los increíbles gráficos que tiene, pero si por lo demás fuera, no pasaría del 6. Me cabrea que hagan las cosas mal, cosas que antes las hacían mucho mejor, y todo por seguir la corriente de la agenda política de turno.    … Expand

    After getting the platinum I was left with a bitter taste in my mouth. Graphically the game is stunning, by far the best graphics iv seen this generation. The gameplay is pretty much the same as its predecessor but much more refined with some new added mechanics. The attention to detail is insane. The story was abit of a mess tbh. Way to many flashbacks after flashbacks which affects theAfter getting the platinum I was left with a bitter taste in my mouth. Graphically the game is stunning, by far the best graphics iv seen this generation. The gameplay is pretty much the same as its predecessor but much more refined with some new added mechanics. The attention to detail is insane. The story was abit of a mess tbh. Way to many flashbacks after flashbacks which affects the pacing massivley. This game felt more like a tv series compared to the previous chapter. I would of given this game a 8 but the replay value is laughable tbh. The game was hard to get through, with just constant sadness throughout almost every cut scene. The only moment I truly enjoyed was playing the guitar as joel. I love ellie, but the game kinda made me annoyed with her choices and made me miss joel even more.… Expand

    Well the last of us Part 2 is an amazing game with a unique story about a girl that revenges her father figure.

    This takes place 4 years after the 1st game ended and seeing thses charecters again was super sweet Joel and Ellie are just amazing together and to see in past interactions how there bond grows with time.

    Ellie game play is roughly a good 13 hours plus a last final act with her. i loved playing as Ellie and as when we play as her in part 1 for 4 hours and left behind was the cherry on top, this squeal was more bitter sweet.

    Killing Joel off the first two hours of the game in present time was hard and brutal, and giving us a story of revenge and cold killing as they marketed for the last of us part 2.

    When Ellie story is closing we get Abby's story and really was not that interesting, even though her game play levels was fun no lie.

    Story score as a fan was a little disappointed and more so i wanted more of ELLIE NOT ABBY

    **** Abby and the WLF Washington liberation front, and the firefly. **** them i hated them i did not like no one from that camp and i did not care about these characters.

    For me Ellie (Ashley Johnson) did an amazing performance to keep me interested,, but Abby as (Laura Bailey) also did a fantastic job, but they did nothing to care or invest on her character act, i looked like 2 story's for me the one they marketed as a revenge story and a little spin off of a new character.

    To start Joel's death, a rather daring decision that, well executed, could have been good, but it is not the case. Joel, more than 20 years surviving, gets into a house with 15 guys that he knows nothing about? what sense does this make and what sense does abby who persecuted her father's murderer to kill him let the brother and daughter of the man he killed live? knowing that most likely they will go looking for him to kill her and her friends? Clearly a forced decision for what follows, killing one of the best characters in video games in a more than pathetic and meaningless way.
    after this ellie another great character crosses the country massacring people, looking for abby so that at the end when she has her life in her hands she is stupidly enlightened and she realizes that killing and revenge is not the right thing, and letting go abby.

    new characters: more than forgettable, I will only remember abby for killing joel and nothing else

    narration: compared to 1 it is a complete rubbish, I hope for the sake of the first that they leave this up to here

    gameplay: it is an evolution of the first, quite well

    graphics: unfortunately it is the section that stands out the most in the game

    As every naughty dog game graphics, sound and gameplay are just perfect! It is so atmospheric characters feel as real as in a movie. All the small gestures all the details. So from this point of view the game could be a master-piece. However I personally think the story it self is boring, it has it’s moments of course, but most of the time you are running from A-to-B chasing the next objectives. As the journey itself is fun, exploring this stunning world feels pretty good, the story behind is pretty boring. Naughty dog tries to catch you with emotions during the cut-scenes and dialogs (by the way you don’t see any graphical cut between gameplay and cut-scene – superb!), but for me the game feels to long, the story takes to long to unfold. I had to force myself to finish the game, due to hard times and boring parts. And frankly I’m glad I finished it, the end is pretty rewarding! At least I liked it, because it was kinda unexpected. 15hrs would have been perfect for that story, so it feels like the time you need to finish is way to long for the story. And usually I enjoy playing games for hundreds of hours (RPG are my favorite genre…), but here if just feels wrong. Well this might be just my opinion. However, for me this is a 7/10 game.     Stealth, level design, audio, and graphics are incredible.
    Too much downplay between actual gameplay without any character development. Story is flashback fest. maybe if the scenes were placed chronologically, it could've told a decent story.
    Story is disappointing. But there is lots of good in this.

    Auch wenn sich Waffen, Fähigkeiten und Gegner im Laufe des Spieles ändern, hat das Spiel es geschafft, dass das Kämpfen für mich zu nervigen Unterbrechungen verkam.
    Die Story, die Welt, die Grafik, alles ist hier überragend, aber immer wenn ich in einen Bereich kam, bei dem ich schon die nächsten 8 Gegner sehen konnte, musste ich mich zwingen, weiter zu spielen.

    Ich vermute allerdings auch, dass dieses Problem eher an mir liegt. Vermutlich bin ich einfach nicht zu Kampfsystemen von Naughty Dog kompatibel, denn ähnlich erging es mir auch schon mit der Uncharted Reihe.

    Im Endeffekt hatte ich dennoch Spaß mit dem Spiel und die Geschichte war wie auch im Vorgänger oder Uncharted sehr schön. Auf der anderen Seite war ich aber auch froh, als ich das Spiel beendet hatte.    … Expand

    This is the reason I dropped the score to a 7.

    Ellie lost Joel but she had it made on that Farm. She still had Dina, the baby, and Tommy! Ellies number 1 priority should have been the baby and Dina. Ellie decides to go after Abby, but Abby let Ellie go on 2 different occasions. I think Ellie should have let it go and enjoyed her life with Dina, and the baby. I noticed there was so much hate for Abby, but I feel like Abby is a much better person than Ellie. After months of Ellie searching she finally finds Abby who’s already been tortured for weeks. Ellie decides not to kill Abby at the end. I just think the story took a turn for the worst in the last chunk of this game. The game play was superb and I loved the variety of weapons. The graphics are some of the best I’ve ever seen. The cons out weight the pros, that's why I give it a 7.    … Expand

    Similar but Improved gameplay over the first. If you don't care for the story its an 8.5. Because this is a cinematic game the story does influence the final score for me. The direction they went is a little cringe at times, and Ellie is very bland and unlikable. I can recommend it gameplay wise, but you likely won't feel the impact as you did with the first game

The Lat Of Us Part 2 is easily the most controversial game of the entire year, and has divided gamers, some people hate it, others love it for what it is. The Last Of Us 2 is not a terrible game or the worst game ever made like most people have been saying. It is definitely disappointing in some areas but it is not the worst game ever made. The rest of this review contains spoilers.

    Con one: Joel's death. I think we can all agree that since the game was announced that we were excited to get see our iconic duo once again and see how their relationship has developed since the first game. And I think I speak for every fan of this series, that we were upset when Joel was killed at the two hour mark in one of the worst ways, getting his skull bashed in by a golf club. I think we wouldn't have minded if Joel died in this game if it were towards the end of the game and it was because he was protecting Ellie. His death felt cheap and had no impact, unlike Sarah's death from the first game.

    Con Two: Playing as Abby. I don't know why Naughty dog thought it was a good idea to put in a section where you have to play as Abby, the woman who killed Joel, who in my opinion is one of the best written video game characters of all time. I didn't like her story line at all and playing as her just rubbed me the wrong way and it felt like her story line was just filler to make the game longer then it needed to be. I wanted to play the entire game through Ellie's eyes. Yes it explains why Abby went to kill Joel but I think we would've been fine if we saw her only three times. First at the beginning where we see her kill Joel, second time at the movie theater, and the final time for the final fight at the beach. It puts Ellie's revenge plot on hold and takes away from the overall plot.

    Con three: The fireflies. Before Abby gets captured towards the end of the game, she ends up coming into contact with people who are rebuilding the fireflies. I don't like this because it takes away the emotional weight from the ending of the first game, Where Joel literally kills the remaining fireflies and their leader to save Ellie. Now they make that ending not matter now that the fireflies are back. so it makes the ending of the game feel pointless.

    Con four: Ellie And Joel. This is the biggest problem I have with this game, Ellie is angry with Joel the entire game. Yes they later explain why but that doesn't excuse the fact the entire first game is now pointless. The whole first game was about the bond between them and how they basically become father and daughter. Now that doesn't matter now that Ellie hates Joel for the whole game.

    A lot of cons right, makes the game sound terrible and the fans shouldn't play it. But that's not the cause. Lets talk pro's.

    Pro One: Ellie's Motivation. Like i said earlier even though Joel's death was a weak, it makes sense story wise because it gives Ellie motivation to get revenge on the people who killed basically her father figure. And you believe that motivation since we all know how much Joel meant to Ellie.

    Pro Two: The Characters. Even if you hate the story like most people do, the characters hold the game together. Everyone has their own character arcs including Ellie. Ellie goes on a quest for revenge and will do anything she has to find and kill Abby and kill anyone she has to get to her. She uses her anger as her main weapon. However when we reach the end of the game and Ellie is drowning Abby in the water, she realizes even if she kills Abby it won't bring Joel back. So even though some people hate that you don't kill Abby in the end, it makes sense for Ellie's arc and to show that the violence we use on others to make ourselves feel better, won't solve the pain and loss we witnessed or went through.

    Pro Three: Graphics And Gameplay. The graphics in this game is beautiful and is one of the best looking PS4 game of all time in my opinion. Everything looks great from the foliage growing around us, to the amazing detail on the characters. The gameplay is smooth, every violent action you do as either Ellie or Abby was fun to do and amazing to watch. Small details from the blood from Ellie's victims squirting out onto her face whenever she would do major damage to their body, to hiding under cars and waiting for the right moment to strike at your enemies.

    In conclusion this is not a terrible game, this is not the worst game ever made. It is definitely disappointing in some areas, but not enough to take away from your enjoyment of the game. This is a great game that I would not only recommend to the fans but to newcomers who just want to hop in and see what this game is all about. I suggest to play the game for yourself and develop your own opinion on it and not just go off what you've heard or read on the internet.    … Expand

After dodging spoilers left and right, I finally played the game through and was happy to beat it. The visuals and the scenes were awesome and beautiful. Combat was a plus from the last game and enemies felt more real and combat was explosive. I want to state the bad. After the death of Joel, I felt Ellie did not grieve enough and the trip to Seattle was too quick. Abby had her revenge completed and Ellie fell flat in the end by letting her go. Ellie killed Abby's friends and that was a plus, but I did not feel bad for them really. The Joel flashbacks would have been sooo much better if it was chronological from the start of the game. Maybe 1 flashback would have been fine. The Abby flashback was great and after laughing for years about how Joel killed the doctor with a scalpel, I did feel bad about it in this game. Also, the trip to California was really short and fell flat and was unexciting. I assumed I would get a couple more hours of gameplay, but it was roughly about 1 hour. I can see that this game was meant about loss and revenge for Joel. Jesse's death was sad and out of nowhere. A great character is killed and the only thing we see left of Jesse is a picture on the farm.Issac would have been a better character, but his screen time was really weak. Seeing that the fireflies are still around is cool and could open up to another game. The Scars were awesome and i loved the whistle call outs they did. WLF was neat and the community they had was alive and interesting. I thought Tommy died near the end and slammed my fist down on my desk, so I was emotionally attached to the story and that was all the mattered to me. I enjoyed the hell out of this game and will play it again to get the trophies. The last of us 1 was my favorite game of all time, but this one did not top that. Thank You.… Expand

    Whoever gives this game a 0 is braindead but whoever gives this game a 10 is also braindead, this games graphics,gameplay, and voice acting is superb. But the story is not the best. It's a revenge plot and one of the characters (no spoilers) is done dirty. so im subracting 3 points for sub par story mode.

A trilha segue sendo linda desde o primeiro. Mesmo com atualizações vi bugs e delay de render e audio Alguns temas tragos no game não gostei da maneira que foi abordada (isso não influenciou na minha nota, foi apenas um adendo)

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I overall enjoyed the Last Of Us Part 2, however i feel it has some flaws that make it far from a 10. The attempt to make you sympathise with Abby, (i understood her perspective) doesn't work all that well. It leaves players having to slug through her section of the story when it has a lot to offer in terms of its gameplay and story elements. I also dislike the back and fourths the game provides with Ellie constantly changing her mind between revenge and moving on. I feel the story could of worked much better had they re-sequenced the events that occur. The ending was also somewhat disappointing, I wouldn't call it a bad ending but it just wasn't what I'd of done. We see Ellie learn that no matter what she does she can't bring Joel back and will instead leave Lev in a similar position to her own (without her mentor/parental figure).

    On the bright side, I really enjoyed some of the new gameplay mechanics and thought they added a good variety to the game. However I felt there were to many resources making the game quite easy (I played on Hard). I looked at the implementation of safes in which you had to find the code in a creative way.
    I also really liked the new characters (especially Dina) and enjoyed Ellies relationships with them.
    The enemies in this game are extremely interesting (especially the Scars) and had me wanting to learn more, I also found myself reading every note I found which rarely happens in games. However I would of liked some more backstory on the Scars

It tries to do something bold and different with the story but in my opinion it’s just done very poorly and could have been done much better. The combat and actual gameplay can only carry this game so much. Having a great story is crucial to a game like this. So I can’t justify a $60 purchase.     The story is enjoyable, and while I absolutely hated Abby and hated playing as her, playing her made sense in the grand scheme of thing, which was: You pay a big price for revenge and can get lost in hate.

    The biggest problem Last of Us 2 has are:

    1) It is not as good as Last of Us 1. With Last of Us 1, they set the bar very high, and last of us 2 needed to at least meet that, but it didn't
    2) Questionable character decision: Joel told us not to trust any stranger in the first Last of Us. Joel knew not to just outright invite them or follow them into the cabin, and yet he did. Why? Because it was the easiest way of writing it. I didn't feel that was Joel making this decision, but rather someone deciding for him, what gets the job done the quickest and the job was to get Ellie on her path to revenge.

    If there was no Last of Us 1, this would have gotten a better score from me, but knowing the characters, I don't think they made the choices they should have made based on the previous game.

    Dina, in my opinion is the best character out of all of them. She is the one making the most sensible choices, the one that fit her the most. Maybe because I never knew her before the first one, but I also didn't know Abby.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Well here we go. To start? I am a huge fan of the first game (just personally a top favorite of mine) and this was much anticipated. Avoided the leaks and went in clear minded. With that said lets get into the nitty gritty. Spoilers will be discussed mostly in story and in the recap.

    Gameplay-Really good when it picks up. The pacing really hurts the gameplay especially early on but when its rolling its not only tense its fun and incredibly addicting to play. While the jump button seems a bit forced and the dodge button seems mandatory for every single encounter? Its a bit of a downer but the gameplay makes up what is a lot of the rewarding aspects of this game.

    Graphics- Naughty Dog needs to if they haven't already give those guys and gals working on the graphics a raise and attempt to retain them for life. These graphics are astounding, beautiful and just really give the game the feel it's trying to pull off. Moments when you play when the rain lets up? It's a gorgeous sight to see. When it's raining and the thunder hits? Amazing. Truly an accomplishment.

    Accessibility Features- This is something that normally doesn't come up in games but the accessibility features while I didn't use much of them are great for gamers who need them. Its another thing you can tell Naughty Dog has focused on and they did an incredible job with it. A lot of kudos here for making sure tons of people can play the game no matter what life throws at them.

    Story- So this is the last one and this is a bit long winded. The acting in this game? Is very impressive even with the poor dialogue at times and awkward moments. The story is a bit of a mess and I will leave out my disagreement for what decisions the studio made with the characters here for a moment. The flashbacks, time jumps and just the consistent going back and forth? It's messy and goes to another point. This game could have been probably cut by 25% and still told the story it was trying to accomplish. Abbys portion felt forced and her origins could have been revealed in an entirely different way. The story early on is very slow, Joel dies, you are forced to journey on and the game moves very slow at this point. The game by the time it really picks up with Ellie? You switch to Abby with your entire skill tree reset now to zero. The game also focuses a lot on what the cost of revenge is and what it can drive a normally good person to do. It attempts to switch the player to instead of feeling like you need to get revenge for Joel switches and tells you what Ellie was doing is wrong and she must be punished. As a player of the original which most people are who played this game? They aren't gonna feel that nor did I and that plays into my score for this game. This story could and should have been executed differently. The plot outline of this game makes a ton of sense the overall delivery is messy and does not always land. When it does land its a nice subtle tone and it is done really well. Those times it does land is not often enough.

    Overall? This game is a bit of a disappointment as its really a cinematic game that focuses on the story pushing you through. The gameplay, graphics, soundtrack, acting is all done incredibly and should be really focused on here and applauded. The story is really unfortunately a mess and it impacts the overall experience of this game and Abby is really forced upon the player to be humanized and liked and it never hits home.

Ок, игра не шедевр, но говном её назвать я точно не могу, геймплей с первой части кардинально не изменился, есть приятные добавления по типу уворота, но мы занимаемся тем же, что и в первой части, графика и отношение догов к деталям меня поразило, но основной объект споров - это сюжет. Он, откровенно говоря, странный, первая половина за Элли восхитительна, но потом приходит Эбби. И нет, к ней претензии не потому что АНА УБИЛА ДЖОИЛА АХ АНА ТВАРЬ!!! Я не мог ей сопереживать, с её отцом мы были знакомы от силы 10 минут, ну спас он зебру, молодец. Но его смерть не вызвала абсолютно никаких эмоций. Также я не понял с какой кстати Эбби помогала двум азиатам из вражеской группировки. Она убивала серафитов пачками, а тут ей жизнь спасли, и она сразу же четверть игры помогает им, а потом тупо предает свою группировку, своих друзей и знакомых. Вопрос, почему же она тогда Джоела убила, если он спас ей жизнь в начале игры? Я не хочу срать Эбби за убийство Джоела, так как у неё полно других проблем. Дальше, азиат-трансгендер, тип у нас постапокалипсис, откуда у тебя время на определения своего пола, когда тебе надо думать как не сдохнуть от зомбаков и как найти пропитание? Финал игры, во-первых, они превратили Элли в мудачку, которая бросила Дину с ребёнком ради мести, а потом пройдя огромное расстояние она отпустила Эбби, после чего она осталась без Дины, без мести, без возможности даже сыграть на гитаре. Сначала я поносил эту концовку, но потом переосмыслил её и понял, что она не настолько ужасна. Я понял, что стоит ценить своих близких, пока они у тебя есть, потому что они могут резко захотеть поиграть в гольф с подругами, а потом пропасть. В игре также были крайне драйвовые и эпичные сцены (сцена в горящей деревне, битва с чупокаброй ебучей в больнице.) и когда я играл, меня не отпускали эти моменты и я хотел играть ещё и еще. Но, очень часто мне играть было скучно, особенно, за Эбби, так как её сюжет - это просто филлер без какого либо развития. Представьте, вы кушаете пиццу, очень вкусную пиццу, а когда вы съели половину, то приходит Нил и говорит : "ну все, теперь возвращайся назад и кушай пиццу с ананасами, которую никто не любит, а потом сможешь вернуться к первой крайне вкусной пицце и доесть, только вот ты уже потом наелся (предварительно проблевавшись с ананасовый пиццы) и с трудом доедаешь остатки прошлой. Я получил, конечно, удовольствие от игры, но я не советую брать её за фулл прайс. Подождите скидок, серьёзно, игра не стоит 4,5к рублей. Поставил бы 8 или даже 9 баллов, если бы Эбби получше прописали и сделали бы её историю хоть сколько нибудь значимой… Expand

Stunning graphics, technological masterpiece, but the plot sometimes fall down to the level of some stupid teenage drama in post-apocalypse setting, like you watching another The 100 or The Walking Dead. Nice game overall, but as a sequel to the first TLOU - sucks.

Un juego del que esperaba mucho tras lo que fue el primer juego (para mí una obra maestra) pero que me ha supuesto una de las mayores decepciones que jamás me he llevado con un videojuego. Aún así le he puesto un 7 porque el juego tiene una serie de puntos fuertes que me parecen indiscutibles.

    Lo bueno:
    - Visualmente es una maravilla. No solo por los gráficos tan bestias sino por el grandísimo nivel de detalles que podemos encontrar en todo el juego.
    - La jugabilidad, si bien es bastante continuista con respecto a lo que fue el primero, sigue funcionando muy bien y además han metido algunas cositas nuevas que se agradecen.
    - La crudeza del juego en los combates es magistral.
    - El juego te incita a la exploración y te recompensa por ello. No solo con suministros y coleccionables sino también con armas que de otro modo se pasarían por alto.

    Lo malo (todo a nivel argumental):
    - El maltrato continuo a Joel. No solo porque lo maten de forma rastrera y miserable sino porque, salvando el flashback del museo, siempre que aparece es para ser despreciado por Ellie de una forma o de otra. Todo porque Ellie considera que no la tuvo en cuenta en su decisión al final del primero. Bien, y si lo que hizo te parece mal, qué crees que debería haber hecho entonces¿? Esta pregunta no se responde porque es imposible hacerlo sin caer en el ridículo. Todo porque nos intentan vender que lo que hizo Joel al final del primer juego estuvo mal.
    - Las muertes de Jesse y Manny. Ambos personajes parecían medianamente importantes pero se los quitan de encima de repente. No solo nadie llora su muerte sino que no se les vuelve siquiera a mencionar en el resto del juego.
    - Relleno. El juego dura más de lo que debería, y eso se nota especialmente en la parte de Abby, donde las misiones están estiradas a más no poder solo para que su parte dure tanto como la de Ellie. Pero donde más se nota el relleno es en la recta final, cuando volvemos a controlar a Ellie. Como no podíamos encontrarnos con Abby y ya está, el juego se saca una nueva facción de la manga que nadie conoce y que a nadie le importa en la que todos son malos malísimos porque sí y nos ponen a masacrarlos para arañar unas horas más de juego.
    - El cambio de parecer sin sentido de Tommy. Cuando están todos juntos en el teatro, Tommy habla con Ellie y le dice algo así como que Abby sigue viva pero que ya han tenido suficiente y que es mejor volver a casa. Tiempo después Tommy aparece en casa de Ellie para decirle que ha localizado a Abby y que tiene que terminar el trabajo porque se lo prometió. Un cambio de opinión que no viene a cuento pero que necesitaban para avanzar la trama.
    - Ellie y Dina en el mundo de yupi. Ambas se retiran a vivir en una especie de granja en mitad del monte aisladas de todo. En un mundo post apocalíptico en el que en cualquier momento te puede llegar una horda de infectados y destrozarte la vida no tiene mucho sentido. Es cierto que aquí los infectados han pasado a un tercer plano, pero esto ya es pasarse.
    - La historia de Abby. Lleva tiempo con los lobos y además todos parecen conocerla (muchos le saludan cuando entra en las instalaciones), pero conoce a un par de niños de la facción contraria y dos días después (literalmente) no tiene problemas en traicionarlos y matarlos. Niños a los que no se ha hecho mención anteriormente, que no conozco y que no me importan. Para rematar, Isaac que parecía un personaje importante (cualquiera que se fuera leyendo las notas durante la parte de Ellie estará de acuerdo) es asesinado de repente y una vez más no se le vuelve a mencionar. Lo dicho, historia flojísima y además con relleno.
    - El personaje de Abby en general. Y no, el problema no es que esté mazada o que parezca un tío, sino como se presenta el personaje. Tras matar a Joel de forma miserable habiéndole salvado la vida, no solo nos obligan a controlarla durante casi la mitad del juego (algo que me causó una enorme repulsión) sino que encima el juego pretende que te caiga bien. Lo siento pero no. Después de matar a Joel de la forma en la que lo hizo no puede caerme bien este personaje, independientemente de sus motivaciones o de su historia.
    - El final. Tras masacrar a cientos de personas Ellie decide perdonarla. No era difícil de predecir, pues el mensaje del juego estaba claro desde el principio. Luego tenemos otro flashback en el que Joel vuelve a ser despreciado por Ellie y una escena final que nos muestra que Ellie lo ha perdido todo por la venganza (que finalmente no ha llevado a cabo). Después de que el director dijera que había llorado con el final me esperaba algo bastante mejor. No veo donde está la parte lacrimógena, sinceramente.    … Expand

I found the humanising of the antagonist an interesting exploration and did enjoy parts of it and some of the friends, but very few of them. I found though that it just went too far, and where it helped, say Thanos feel realised and purposeful, but still a villain, it sort of robbed TLOU of a true villain. The everyone does bad things for the right reasons theme was not lost on me, but still felt purposeless in the context of the 2 games narrative as a whole. It's like they took a straight right angle in the narrative and just decided to tell a completely different story, instead of a part 2 of the original.    … Expand

    Playing through it was like enjoying a Walking Dead movie. I was into the characters and story but it was something I was fine thinking about for a little bit and then being done with it.
    If you’re replaying the game, whether on new game plus or a harder difficulty then I think the enjoyment of the story will continually be diminished. You may as well be watching a gritty zombie film or TV show. And if you’re less interested in the many seeing the many cutscenes more than a few times then you’re left with the solid stealth/action combat that is pretty non-linear. Story is the most important part of this game and takes precedent over everything else.
    Overall the game is well crafted in all of the parts that make it up. It’s also very diverse with its cast of characters if that sort of thing matter to you.
    I was left a bit bummed by the conclusion of the game but I respected the choices it made as a piece of art on its own. The gameplay was enjoyable but not wholly satisfying due to the game being structured for the story.    … Expand

    As for the story and characters I'm comparing it to first part. I remember nearly all characters, they were very interesting and memorable. In Part II characters seem out of reality or so. There's not so much to tell about them. Second part of the game has very good gameplay, but dumb decisions, that are not logical and don't influence me as a gamer. Ending was also disappointing. I might know, what Neil wanted to say, but in comparison of first game, he fails to deliver. I nearly had some facepalms during the game.

    So should you play it? Yes, it's a good game. But if you are a fan of first part be careful - it might get you upset unfortunately. I put 7 for such game from Naughty Day - never thought this happening.    … Expand

    This game had the potential to be a 10/10, but, sadly, the story is badly written and poorly executed. I like the ideas behind the game and everything appart from the story is 10/10. Maybe if they did some ajustements to the passing and cut some sections, the game could hit a 9 or 10. Little bit sad to know that this game could have been so much more. Still had fun for the most part.

    They spend time on worthless characters in the story. Three time lines create feeling that we as players do not progress in the story at all. Annoyingly reuse locations for 2-3 times. No depth in Rattlers/Slavers and Scars/Cultists.
    Joel should be finished in the middle of the game and till that no info for players who is Abby so we get the surprise moment. 2nd half chase Abby. Ellie and Abby must be available already in the first half of the game. Dumb decisions. Poor writing.
    Naughty Dog choose the easiest way. Give such a beloved franchise/characters to a writer who worked on a few episodes in Westworld show and thats it. Seriously. Couldnt find a more professional writer?!    … Expand

I enjoyed certain aspects of the game but hated that you are forced to play as someone who killed Joel and want to be Joel aka Jessie who I was starting to like. It made me hate her more when she beat Ellie in their first fight against each other. The Siblings scar story was probably the most interesting thing in this game. I feel like the story was trying to combine two different stories to make one game. It would have been better rearranging the story so it didn't feel like it was hopping around everywhere. Overall what's the point of all this sacrifice and body count on both sides to not go three with getting revenge for Joel or Abby getting revenge for her friends dying.… Expand

    The story is cluttered but the risks they took with it and some of the concepts were pretty bold for this sequel and there's a lot that falls short but the gameplay is very fun, brutal, and satisfying and the graphically this game is phenomenal. Acting wise everyone does a fantastic job. The game is solid

    I just finished the game for the 2nd time NG+ , everything was as I expected: graphics 10/10, sound quality 10/10, music 10/10, gamplay 10/10 the new dodge button made the fights more interesting. And the problem comes on the story part, (story 8/10, character designed 4/10) there is a lot to say on this topic.     I loved the gameplay, it was a better version of the first game with better environments to fight enemies and zombies. The story and characters are poorly written though. I would rate the story a 4 and the gameplay a 9. It’s obviously very divisive.

    Pero como fanático del primer juego. (Amé la primera parte) El desarrollo de la historia me ha parecido horrible. Entiendo y comprendo la muerte de uno de los protagonistas. (Hasta la justifico) pero me pareció absurda, la forma en que está, fue llevada acabo. (Hubiera preferido un final más épico: Un sacrificio, una redención)
    Hay una escena de pelea, en donde casi apago la consola, para no saber más del juego. Una escena que me fastidio toda la experiencia. Ver a Ellie tan indefensa, tan herida me rompió el corazón. He de confesar que sentí empatía con Abby, estoy convencido que hubiera sido un personaje apreciado y querido, si está no hubiera acabado con uno de los protagonistas.

    This game is **** depressing.

    Pros:
    - Better gameplay mechanics
    - Better Grapichs
    - World building
    - Music

    ---Ellie Stuff---
    - Car chase scene with Jesse and Ellie
    - Chasing nora through spores.
    - Seraphite patrol and infiltration
    - Exploring Seatle with Dina
    - Every single Joel and Ellie flashback
    - Last stretch with Ellie in California Santa barbara

    ---Abby Stuff---
    - Entire story arc with Abby and the scars
    - Abby bossfight with mutated infected
    - Running through Haven with horse
    - Runnning away from infected.
    - Forest escape

    Cons:
    - Joel is stupid apparantly in this game
    - Joel dies
    - Joel has like 15 minutes of screentime

    - The story is Ellie going for revenge and kills all the friends of Abby
    but then doesnt kill the one person she needs to kill because she gets a flashback of Joel.

    - Poorly executed story
    - Pacing of the story.

    - It tries too hard to force the player to feel for Abby
    It succeeds in a way but again in my opinion it feels poorly executed.

    - Abby flashbacks were not intresting.
    (Only one that matters are the first one where you see her with her dad
    + her seeing her dad dead by the acts of Joel)

    ---Mixed---
    - Ellie lost everything. I dont know what to feel about this
    - Dont know what to feel about Abby as a part 3 runner. (makes sense if they go for a cure plot again)
    - Dont know how to feel about them killing of Joel in a way that is super disrespectful.
    - Ellie gives everything up but then saves Abby and Lev, therefor letting Ellie do one good thing at the end of it.

    Conclussion: Im gonne play the game again with gamemode + and just re-expierence it but not instantly. Ill replay it eventually. This game is super mixed for me. I dont like the pacing of the story but the main message is there and is told in a way that is ok but I still think its poorly executed and should have been better. The cycle of revenge and how violence is never the answer is the message. Part 3 is probably going to happen with Abby and Lev making it to the fireflies. And the only logical thing I could see happen in part 3 is Abby and Lev talking to the fireflies about Ellie and the cure and searching her to get the cure done. Ending the game with humanity restored. Or they leave it like it is now. With Ellie losing everything in her life. But for me part 2 was one of the most depressing games ive ever played.    … Expand

    The soundtrack was noticeably absent for a lot of the game. When it was present it had the familiar feel of the first game, but it was hardly present. there were still some fantastic scenes that were made by the sound and music direction, but they are few and far between.
    Voice acting was on point throughout the entire game. Cannot really fault it.
    The Story! Oh dear lord this is where it gets very tricky. Thematically, it should work very well but it sadly falls flat. Many of the characters introduced in this game I just don't care about. They have somewhat fleshed out stories and history, but sometimes they just feel kind of unnecessary. This is also meant to be a story about revenge and how it can become all consuming, a message that the game constantly throws at you. The problem to this of course is that in game we have no choice but to try and enact our revenge. there is no 'Spare the life' option of any of the human enemies you fight. the only option there is, is to either continue playing the game, and have it try and make you feel bad for the decisions you are making, or stop playing the game altogether.
    The game is also too long. A few times came natural stopping points for the game, a final showdown if you will, but trying to end the game there just gets you the 'game over' animations and throws you to the start of the encounter again. It just feels weird to play through it! I cant go into too many details without posting spoilers, but for a game that heavily relies on the story, this does fall quite short. I think it would have worked better as a 3quel or maybe a couple of separate games as parts of the story are disjointed. Either they had two many ideas and tried to cram them all in or the story was changed late in production as some of it just doesn't quite fit.
    Overall the game is great to play and I couldn't put it down. But that seemed to be in spite of itself at times.

    Estéticamente el juego es hermoso por los detalles del paisaje, físicas , etc., lamentablemente un juego no se define simplemente por como se ve si no por lo que te haga querer avanzar y continuar la aventura. La historia no es nada del otro mundo y presenta detalles sin lógica y el gameplay es prácticamente igual al anterior presentando mejoras en casi todos los aspectos( un punto bueno)

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.
