This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I thought it was a great game with very mature themes. Joel's death is a powerful motivator for Ellie (and for us gamers) to want to avenge Joel's death. What Ellie and Abby learn at the end is that vengeance comes at a stiff price. Ellie and Abby both lost everything and everyone they loved.

It didn't have a happy ending.I liked the ending, which I think is going to lead up to a 3rd chapter at some point on the PS5. I am hoping they have some DLC soon to close some loops like where did Dina and the baby go.

I find the story isn’t compelling enough to justify its existence, so much so to the point where they sacrifice one of the beloved characters for very little return. Overall, the first game has much better pacing and it’s just too difficult to outdo such masterpiece.

The first part left us with a desire to know what could follow for this duo, now we are presented with the harshness of this post-apocalyptic world, this part played with my feelings, but showed how far we can go for revenge, no other game has made you hate and love a game so much.

The negative reviews are good, in all the games there are, but you don't have to take seriously that of the typical people who attack you for homosexuality, or for the fact that Joel dies and Abby ends the story alive. In fact, most of the negative reviews are from the 4 typical fools who have simply read the story without having played it.
The story itself is very good, FOR ME, if you don't like it, it's your **** problem.
I understand that Abby has hate, I also hated her at first and she is a difficult character to understand, but as you start playing with you you start to like her and get interested in her story and what happened in those 4 days in Seattle.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Last of Us 1 was the game that made me come back to video games after several years (10/15 years out?) I bought ps3, all uncharted games and started to play again. I love tlou1 (still) and trustED naughty dog and sony. Bought Ps4 and all naughty dog remasters... then came tlou2. After a long waiting, bought the deluxe edition in pre-order. I was pretty happy, until I started to play this thing... thought 2020 would have anything good after all bad things happening in the world. The game have major story flaws. The full was not even closer of what I was expecting... Well, the most bitter tasty is being forced to play with the killer of Joel. Seriously, I’ve tried hard to play but when reached the way back to hospital was just speedrun until the end of abby’s gameplay. I couldn’t anymore. I did not want to play anymore, but after some days I came back and finished, just finished by the will of “finishing a game” that I paid for. It went even worse... playing against Ellie? Her immunity doesnt matter anymore?... Well that doesnt matter anymore for me. The sadiest after all is not the game itself, is that I trustED naughty dog and the feel like a betrayal and that I was tricked during the trailers and for all those years. You didnt just detroyed tlou story, you destroyed the pillars that made me came back to video games... Never gonna trust in that Studio anymore, even if they build another great IP, then I will wait years and get detroyed again!? Are you going to give us tlou2 money back, fire the whole red tape/story writters in naughty dog, hire competent ones and redo tlou2 ? I’m sure not... Sorry, you dont deserve trust, done for you!!! sad sad sad sad sad sad....

There’s also lots of new characters and also a new main character called Abby. I do like Abby as a character but felt like I played too much game time as her. I think Abbys story should have been a seperate game. I also think there’s still a lot of unanswered questions about Ellie’s immunity. But overall I thought this was a great game, I feel like some people are too emotionally involved with the characters and that’s why this game hasn’t had the rating it deserves. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. ♫"If I ever were to lose you, I'd surely lose myself..."♫

Upon completing this game, I am left heartbroken. I watched a character that I've loved for years lose herself because she lost someone she cared about, and who cared about her. Its a difficult experience to see Ellie make decisions that leave her lost and alone, and it is by no means 'fun' to see her throw away everything only to be torn further from Joel, and let his killer live.

But to call the story 'bad' because you think Ellie should have fulfilled her revenge is completely missing the point ND was trying to make. I think one's enjoyment of this story depends on whether the game is able to make you empathize with Abby, and even root for her. For me, ND accomplished this. In the beginning, I hated Abby and wanted to see her meet the consequences of her choice to seek out and murder Joel. But by the end, during the fight on the beach, I wanted her to live. Abby is cold and hardened, scarred by the loss of the person she cared about more than anything, and struggling to find her purpose in the world. Through our time playing as her, we see her begin to regain some of that humanity, through her conviction to protect a young child and bring them to safety. If this sounds familiar, its because her arc is very similar to Joel's in the first game. By the end of The Last of Us, Joel had done some monstrous things and killed many innocent people, but we still loved him. Abby is no worse than Joel, and though she never fully redeems herself in my eyes for what she did, I still understand her motivations and hope that she and Lev find the safe haven they are looking for.

This game shows that the cycle of violence is dangerous to become swept up in. Started by Joel, passed to Abby, then to Ellie, this cycle of killing caused both Ellie and Abby to lose themselves, and many people they cared about. This game caused me to care equally for the two of them, and made me deeply anxious during their two fights. I understood what was driving Ellie to kill Abby, but I didn't want her to do it. In the end, Ellie thinks of her last interaction with Joel, where she decides to try to forgive him for what he did to the Fireflies to save her, and decides to break the cycle of violence and allow Abby to escape. I think she made the right choice in the end. Killing Abby would not have given Ellie any closure, as she had already lost everything in her pursuit to that end. She could have had a peaceful life with Dina, but she threw it away and paid the price.

Even though this game had a deeply depressing ending, I am in no way disappointed with it. They had a story to tell, and however bleak it was, I think they told it well. I was moved in a way few games have been able to move me, and I mourn the death of Joel, and I feel sorry for what Ellie has become. The fact that ND makes me feel that way is not the sign of a bad game, but the hallmark of a truly special title, one that, just as the Last of Us 1 did, makes you care about its characters above all else.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'm pretty conflicted about this game. The whole first half is a solid 9.5/10 for me and really does feel like a worthy successor to the first game. Incredible level design, great combat sequences, and graphic quality I never expected to see out of my 6 year old PS4. I was thoroughly engaged in the story up until the switch.

The second half however, feels very jarring compared to what is played up until that point. It feels like Naughty Dog divided into two teams to make this game. The team developing the first half being people who worked on the original game. the combat encounters feel like they were designed by a less talented team than Ellie's section of the game. The story of Abby and her friends is not interesting and the game gives me no reason to care about those characters.

I do appreciate a lot of what this game tried to do in the bigger picture. The idea of having to play a character for 10-12 hours that you are strongly predisposed to dislike is an interesting psychological experiment, but I kind of wish I wasn't the subject. The Abby section wasn't all bad (I liked her Flashbacks and thought the leaving the Island sequence was very cool) but I still kind of feel like like I was tricked into being forced to play a different game for 10 hours to see the conclusion of the story I was invested in.

I think the Abby section would be less grating on people if it wasn't so long. It didn't feel like it was at all necessary for her to have a whole second campaign to tell that part of the story. Her 3 days could have been an hour each and still showed the player what they needed to see. By the time I was finally done the Abby section it felt like it had killed the tension that was there before the Abby switch.

By far my favorite part of this game was the flashbacks with Joel and Ellie. I don't think Joel's death was necessarily bad writing but i still can't help but wonder what this game could have been if it was able to take more advantage of it's greatest strength in the chemistry between those characters.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Last of Us Part II is the most gorgeous looking game I have ever played, and I would slow down in a lot of parts just to admire the beauty of everything. With that being said, the story is very disappointing and not reflective of the characters' personalities that we came to know in the first game. I understand that the game is trying to get you to relate with Abby by showing how hard her life was too, but you cant just kill off Joel in the beginning and then expect us to feel any remorse for Abby. It was a bit sad seeing how horrible Abby's life was getting, and i would've felt bad for her but she killed Joel, and that is unforgivable. I also think it was a chore to get through the second half of the game because you're forced to play as the antagonist, which was a real pain. I would also like to know what happens to Dina, instead of leaving off with Ellie walking away and not ending the story on a god note. Naughty Dog severely underestimated how much the fans loved Joel and that took a toll on our enjoyment of the game. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Okay... here we go.

Summary: What is... even the story, the trailers and advertising clearly deceived so many of us that I'm actually baffled by the Gall of Naughty Dog.

    Characters:
Ellie: She is pretty brutal, I give her that. Her character arc climax is strangely at the very end of the story. When I saw it happen the first thing that I said in my head is "Oh now you realized this is all **** up." Then gives us a rather bitter end to the story of TLOU2. We get it, reality is **** But when you try to put realism over the story, it's less of a story and more of an in your face message. Which is the root of my issue with the whole story. Anyways, the best part of the game is Ellie's flashbacks with Joel.

Joel: Loved by fans... his plot is almost disgraceful on how they handled it. The teasers and trailers clearly show he is supposed to be alive, but instead, we get deception. Like I know advertisers protect their stories but THIS IS STRAIGHT UP DECEPTION. The cutscenes we see from Joel are flashbacks. The scene where he says "You'll think you're going to do this on your own?" It is actually from Jesse! I am actually pissed about this, I paid a crap ton of money for another adventure with Joel and Ellie. But I instead get crapped on because they had to subvert expectations. This is a videogame not an M. Night Shyamalan movie!

Dina: She is... kinda plain actually. The only memorable part with her as Ellie is the weed scene and music scene. At times when she talks to Ellie, it's kinda as if they weren't really a couple. I actually forgot at one point that Dina was Ellie's partner. Character arc? Um... she... hmph.

Jesse: Damn I really liked this guy but they had to give him such an NPC cutscene death. It didn't even surprise me. I was already numb from the unlikeable storytelling. That's bad if you cannot provoke a strong emotion out of me (Which by the way it's not hard to do), your story is really bad to do so.

Manny: The same situation with Jesse, but the worse part is that bullet like... erased his character's existence and was barely ever mentioned again. Actually even Jesse suffers the same thing.

Abby: Okay mega huge problem with her. They presented her really bad. She claims she cares about people who rescue her... but she murders Joel still? She's a new character that is already presented as an antagonist super early. Like what the **** you completely ruined her chances of being liked at all. ND failed to grab our trust for Abby and left us bitter through the WHOLE STORY. The worst part is, it's like they gave Abby the best parts of the story while Ellie's side is superlinear. The established a character than I don't even care about.

Jerry: Wasn't he black... they race changed him.

    Gameplay:

It has been improved, not going to lie. But it's mostly the same as the first game, run and hide and strike with little resources. Gunplay and brutalities are pretty on par with the first game.
Main gripes, is when enemies call out their friend's names or pets. Honestly, I don't give a **** dude. If you shoot at me I don't care if your dog is named pancakes I will ****ing kill you both for attacking me first. Secondly when they are like "oh wait don't kill me". They'll always try to fight back afterwards, yeah real dynamic. Also, where is the friendly survivor groups, does every person I meet HAVE TO BE ENEMIES. The only thing I remember outside the town is the prisoners that I rescued. But that's a cutscene, give me a moral dilemma if I should raid a neutral survivor group or interact with them so it feels more real. THAT'S HOW YOU HUMANIZE PEOPLE.

    Verdict: 3/10

The gameplay is nice, but the story is like taking IP Man's machinegun punches to my cock.
I don't mind the LGBT representation, I don't mind Joel dying. But the way they presented the whole story is just, awful. The character arcs lead nowhere cause they kinda ALL DIE. The ending was pointless like you might as well finish Abby off too. You already killed hundreds of people!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game is phenomenal. Not as good as the first but sequels coming off a game that good rarely are. The characters and world are as detailed as ever and making loving or hating them feel so impactful. I was almost certain the game would start with Joel being killed, considering who he was and the consequences of the choices he made in the first game, and through his 20 years of survival. His death was harsh and sudden, fitting the bleak grounded tone of the previous game, and the lifestyle he thought he might outrun. It portrays his acceptance of the consequence well, showing the final piece of his arch that he knew he was getting what he deserved. So it was tough, but set the rest of the game in motion. Ellie's fall from grace is a hot topic of debate but it makes sense to me. She was always troubled by survival, and needing meaning in her immunity. Chasing Joel's killer, as well as the relationships strained along the way, was a strong story of coming to terms with being a villian, just as the fjrst game was. I think people forgot at the end of the day she's been with Joel, a true villian, for a while mow, and they shouldn't have been surprised she took on his world view. Regardless, the writing is great, the acting even greater, and the graphics prove ND still knows to inch every ounce of horsepower out of this gens PS. It's a hell of a ride, but one worth taking. It'll hurt, its not always perfect, but its so damn good. Expand

Graphics: yes they seem nice especially the outside visuals of landscapes but faces at times seem utterly weird and not in keeping with the rest of the game. When I see people say the graphics are 10/10 i just laugh because there are some really poor ones.

Gameplay: It is I am afraid to say quite dated in the way it works but the worst thing is the jump system which seems to fail for no reason and they even include a easy jump version in the controls. This should tell you that they knew it was bad but decided to do nothing about that.
The game had some very boring parts in my humble opinion and just seemed to be there to stretch the game out.

Sound: Very nice and I cant say too much negative about it

All in all not a bad game but a disappointment none the less, If ND wanted to make a political statement they should have done so via twitter because some of this stuff does not need to be in games. Woke culture is bleeding into too much stuff these days. The way ND and Sony handled the leak was terrible but that does not effect my score at all.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I have been playing video games for almost 20 years and this is now my favorite game of all time. The game looks absolutely amazing, the art style is gorgeous, the face expression is the best I have ever experienced in a game, the level of details is astonishing, gameplay is simple but polished and very enjoyable, whether you like stealth, gun fights or exploration, I usually get tired of games halfway through but not with this game. The story is a roller coaster of emotions from beginning to end, and is very well directed. It is darker, more mature and more realistic. I liked most of the characters even Abby and her crew. What people need to realize is that every person in the game has a back story that motivates his actions, and people that he cares about and wants to protect. We all played the first TLOU and grew to love Ellie and Joel, but the reality is that Joel by saving Ellie, made a slaughter house of fireflies in the hospital and doomed all humanity in the act (even Ellie was angry about it), so him having enemies that wants his head is natural and chances for it to actually happen was always high. Maybe his death could have been a little smoother I don't know. But hating the game just because of Joel dies is unjustified, It's like hating Game of Thrones just because Ned Stark dies. In brief, this game is a masterpiece and the best game I have ever played.
It saddens me how much free hate it is getting. The game got out the 19th of June I woke up in the next morning 10 hours after the release and there were already more than 10000 negative reviews (mostly zeros) complaining about everything even the ending!!! how is that even possible??? Imagine being like an art designer or something for the game working so hard for all these years creating this magnificent world and be rewarded with thousands of "0/10 this game is f****** garbage" by people who didn't even play the game. At least if you don't like the story (which is a subjective matter) give some credit to the undeniably good thing. No one can deny that the game looks amazing. No one can deny that the gameplay is great. No one can deny how good the game sounds. No one can deny that the cinematics are astounding. No one can deny that the facial expressions are astonishing... So please people don't hoop in the hate train without thinking for yourself.

What a mess, what made the first game one of the best game of all time? The history The gameplay from 1 and part 2 are decent but to be honest is nothing exceptional is a basic 3rd person shooter. But here its the same formula with such a terrible history that somehow manage to bore people playing for the first time and piss off people who love the first one. And man what a trainwreck is this history that leads nothing to nowhere, with plot that make absolute no sense. Also metal gear fans will know the felling....you want to play with they advertise to you right? You buy the game to play with the character the "sold" to you in the trailers, in their ads. Well guess again you Will spend half the game playing as a character who torture a beloved character from the franchise. Naughty dog/Neil druckman tries so hard, be bold put a powerfull history and Sens a message and all this blahw blah...that turns everything in a huge cliche.
Just ignore all dialogues, cutscenes and the first game and you might have a good time. Imagine John Wick letting the guy who killed his dog walk away after killed hundreads of people, cause you know...revenge leads tô nowhere bla, bla, bla.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The last of us Part 2 is far from the masterpiece of storytelling the original was, however I would argue that almost all other aspects of the game are improved and are objectively made better, which makes the game still a very enjoyable road.

Unlike many people, I was not bothered by Joel’s death, at least initially. Once the credits rolled I came to hate the games method of storytelling through overuse of flashbacks, personally, I believe the game would have been much better had you spent the first portion of the game focusing on Joel and Ellie rebuilding there relationship before finally having Abby come in a do her thing.

Of course to me, the most glaring problem in the game is Abby. Despite giving the game such a high score I still absolutely hate Abby. Lev on the other hand is probably my favourite character introduced in the game and I thought had the most interesting story to tell.

The gameplay and specifically the combat is what made this game for me, I probably would have scored the game a 6 had it not been for the gameplay which massively improves over the last game. There’s something about the immersiveness of the game that makes the combat so satisfying. One thing I didn’t like about the gameplay is the fact that clickers are much less intimidating and can often be defeated with ease.

Overall I enjoyed the last of us part 2, but the storytelling decisions are very strange at times and the pacing is ruined by the flashbacks, which though great do a lot to ruin the tension of some scenes.

The game has me worried for a possible part 3, however if the gameplay continues to improve I’d imagine it’ll still be an incredibly fun game to play, provided you enjoy this type of gameplay.

I'm going to start this out by saying that the only reason this game got a rating of 4, is because I genuinely had some fun experiences getting immersed in the world and going back 7 years in time for $60 and playing a game I could pop in my ps3 and just ignore the graphical changes and identical combat system, no seriously, go back and play the first game, identical! It's like they spent 7 years beating the script with a rock and some tumblr quotes for character development. It's Joel and Ellie. That's the story, how hard was it to stick to that? I can promise you 90% of the people who came to play, got to the Abby portion and realized once they found a collectible that she was going to take up way more time than anyone wanted. I speedrunned Abby, Lev had a great story, but would've been more heartfelt if she weren't with the shehulk plot killer. 4/10 would refund if I could. Expand

Its story is quite controversial, many people quit after seeing Joel’s death, but it actually make sense. I love Joel, he is a charming person, but you can not deny the fact that he destroyed the chance to cure this messy world (They really should give Joel a better place to Rest In Peace like Arthur Morgan) The story reminds me of The Walking Dead and Red Dead Redemption II. Revenge and redemption, finding closure and peace in character’s mind in the brutal world. The story telling isn’t a failure, it gave me a mixed feeling, it made me feel anger while seeking revenge, it made me feel guilty killing these characters after knowing their story, It made me feel sad, calm and peaceful at the end. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I can't believe this is the actual game they decided to go with. This is a f**** joke. Druckmann.... seriously? It looks like You sold your soul in the name of what? WTF dude? It's your child, and you killed it, I hope you know it. As a huge fan of the first part (which i completed several times) i had at first some doubts about the sequel, i was feeling like.. damn is it even a good idea to develop the second part? The first had a perfect ending because of giving the players a chance to imagine on their own what happened to the main characters and how they lived on. But when the rumors about the second part were confirmed, i thought to myself - ok, let's give it a chance. I'm now after fresh finishing the sequel, and really i can't believe I spent 50 bucks for this piece of **** Really. Now don't get me wrong, i love the dark climate, perfect graphics, open world, exploration, cutscenes, twists, etc. But... i guess even if all of these are close to perfect and probably best in the game industry, it's still not enough when it comes to really bad scenario.

You literally ruined all what was beautiful in the game, and by what fans fell in love with the first part. I even think that the story of the sequel was originally different, but during these past 7 years something have happened, and all changed. You can see it even by watching the trailers. Fans now can assume that it was on purpous that You've put in the 'smart' way a Joel in the key scenes, so that fans would think he's alive during the whole gameplay and he helped Ellie in her journey. And yeah - everyone's now think that it was just a 'little' manipulation in video editing. But on the other hand You can also think that Joel originally was meant to be alive... Anyway - let's get to the point.

There are at least dozens of ideas for better story for TLOU2 and still keeping alive both main characters. I understand the whole story, really I understand the point view, its idea, the path that Ellie was walking on, the cosequences of Joel's decisions, forcing a player to get into the shoes of the opposite site, and understand that each site had its motivations, rights, etc. I also understand what was going on with Ellie, and why the game was so depressful in the end, but its all something completely different in the core idea/plan for making this game, its way more complex on many fields, it talks about hate, love, tolerancy, forgiveness, changes, regrets, PTSD, choices you make and its consequences, etc. But guys - the way you served it, a chaotic mush and rollecoaster of emotions sprinkled with dumb decisions.

Seriously what the **** was on your mind to let Ellie kill hundrets of people in order to avange the only person that truly cared about and looked after her, and in the end you decided - nah... let it go Ellie. I repeat - i understand your point view, but its really naive thinking she would really let Abbys go. And the moment with biting off Ellie's fingers... wtf? stupid, gross, dumb and unnecesairy. Similar as it comes to Joel - he was one of the smartest guys in game history ever. Thinking he would get ambushed so simply and in so dumb way (and Tommy too) is a ****ing joke. It looks like You completely didn't have an idea of how to move on with scenario. The same as it comes to Ellie - she acts as the Joel taught her, on the other hand she completely ignores those lessons, and for instance let her enemies live on (so they might have a chance to kill her in the near future). But even all of these are not as dumb as the idea to force players to play the WTF-out-of-nowhere character and move Ellie to the corner for the half of the game... JESUS F****** CHRIST.

I hated Abby from the very first moment to the very last. The idea of getting into her shoes is understandable, but the way you've done it completely kills everything. At the end of her campaign i thought to myself - jesus ****ing christ... finally. And the scene where the players had to hunt for Ellie - the most beloved character, You are really the kings of stupidity and ignorancy. I don't know who approved this **** idea, but it's a ****ing joke.

All those ratings of so called 'critics' were paid, we all know that now. The scale of the difference in critics and players ratings speaks for itself. The best and most beautiful thing in the game in my personal opinion were the flashbacks with younger Ellie and Joel. Now I would give someone a whole lot of money just to forget there is even something like TLOU 2. It completely ruined the story i fall in love with, the emotions, relations, journey, characters. Congratulations morrons.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I loved TLOU 1. I bought this game the day it came out and avoided all spoilers and leaks beforehand.
Honesly, I did not like this game at all.
The story is literally pointless and absolutely depressing. Joel's death was poorly written. Joel survived so much hell in the first game. He was impaled and survived. He spent months being bed ridden. He fought so many bandits, fireflies, and infected and overcame all of it. All that feels so pointless if he just dies so easily two hours into the sequel. His fight for survival in the first game is cheapened since we see him die so easily after waltzing into the hand of the enemy.

Abby is mean and unpleasant. She has sex with Owen and acts like she doesn't care the next day even though he was in a relationship with a pregnant woman. I get they try to make us empathize with her. But honestly anyone with half a brain can understand why she did what she did. Joel killed her dad and dismantled the fireflies. We get it. We don’t have to play as her for half the game to understand that. Especially if she’s gonna be so coarse and bland the whole time. Abby has no chemistry with her friends (except Manny). She treats Owen like crap, she disrespects Mel's relationship, and once Manny is shot in the face she doesn't take even half a second to mention him or show some grief. Playing as her did not make me feel any worse for killing them.

Her arc of helping Yara is pointless because Yara dies an hour after you go through all that freaking trouble to cut her infected arm off. I did not want to play as Abby for half the game. I did not want to fight Ellie as Abby. I tried making Ellie kill me to see if that was an option but it was not. Playing as Abby was so draining and it made the pacing bad. I thought this game was Ellie's story! I did not sign up to play as a character with no personality who's story amounts to nothing. The whole California part is even more pointless. If Ellie did not go, Abby would have died at the Rattler base and Ellie would have kept her family and fingers. Her trip there makes no sense and is very stupid. And to make matters worse, they make you play guitar with missing fingers and it is literally so disturbing. Almost as disturbing as Abby's awful sex scene.

Also, I did not appreciate how Ellie and Dina have sex the day after their first freaking kiss. Who does that? Ellie is so madly in love with her but we don't have any reason to like her that much.
Jesse was the only character I liked aside from Joel and he is shot in the face out of nowhere and never spoken about again outside of some dumb collectible note. They just had to get rid of him so he could be out of the picture once the baby was born. He ends up just being a sperm donor. Which sucks because he was so nice to Ellie and was not bitter about her moving on with Dina.

I am trying to be fair by giving it a 5 because everything was good aside from the story. But the story is the most important thing in a game like this. By the end of the game I felt utterly unfulfilled. I didn't even like Ellie anymore. I wish it TLOU 2 did not exist and that we stopped after the first installment. So many people die in this game and it all amounts to nothing. This story amounts to nothing. Joel dies, Jesse dies, Tommy is divorced and crippled, Ellie is alone and missing fingers, and for what? What was the point of this? Honestly this is a demented, twisted, slaughter fest of a game and it really did not tell a compelling enough story to warrant being so dark.

Masterpiece. The story really turns around and make sence after a while. Loved it.

This game is a masterpiece. Because of this game we get to feel how Joel's actions in the previous game affected the world and the lives of others. The game doesn't tell you the reasons why anything in it happens, but rather it shows it and makes you feel it, that is something else. No game has ever touched me more than this one.

The best game ever. Those rating low probably haven’t played it or are homo/transphobic.

I hated the game so much that I scored a 0 for the first time.
The lowest score I ever played was 6.
It's hard to imagine such a famous game cheating players in the trailer. Where all the trailers show Joel, it's actually Jesse.
I saw the press today that it sold 4 million copies, so I came here to rate it and tell people who didn't pre-order it that it's a piece of **** don't buy it.

Loved the story and gameplay. Its a game I will always remember. I also stayed away from the spoilers which seemed to ruin the game for a lot of people.

Just cause I’m the walking dead Glenn died doesn’t mean I de-nounce the whole series. This score is so low because of review bombing. If it wasn’t spolied I’m sure this wouldn’t have happened. Again don’t trust the reviews, they are from people who read spoilers and didn’t actually play the game for context or to actually see how these plots were handled. Expand

Horrible game with just an awful story, game forces you to play as the killer of your most favorite character, the entire story is about revenge when you don’t even get revenge in the end, you kill a pregnant women but you don’t kill the killer of our favorite character, game is poorly made and should not be played. My honest, SPOILER FREE review, as a huge fan of the first game: This will be a bit long, but hear me out. Pros: visuals. It's hard to say best, there are so many good looking games this console generation, but tlou2 is definitely somewhere in the top 5.
Sound. The sound design, and especially the voice acting, is top notch, which brings me to my next pro. Performances. This is without a doubt the best acting and animation I have ever seen in a video game. It's actually mind blowing at times how much you can get from a character without them even saying anything. Game play. Think tlou1, but with small improvements to every single element. Everything just feels more fluid and satisfying, but if you did not like the game play of the first game, then you probably won't enjoy the second either, as it's very similar. Story. Don't worry I'll be vague. Ooook, so here is the big one that is dividing the fanbase. First, this game is very long for a linear story game, almost twice the length of the first, but this is a plus in my eyes. It feels like a huge, emotional journey, and I still can not stop thinking about it, which I think says a lot. However, the story is not as airtight and perfect as the first game, there are more flaws. As far as content goes, just strictly speaking about what actually happens, I loved it. BUT... I feel like the pacing and structure of the story had some major issues. Which brings me to-

Cons. Story pacing and structure. Naughty dog made some really bold and risky decisions with the story, which I personally was very much on board with. There is a roughly 10 hour section of the game that some people either hated altogether or felt was too long. I disagree. I think this section, as well as the length of it, is absolutely necessary for the story to work. My problem with it is the TIMING. The way the story is structured, the timing of when this segment occurs completely destroys the momentum that had been building up, and I really wish it simply happened earlier in the overall story. I actually think that a decent amount of people that hated the story would've liked it, if the structure and timing of events was moved around a bit. There are also a lot of flashbacks, and while some of them are perfectly placed and incredibly touching, others seem to come out of nowhere and don't quite land emotionally. Aaaannnd those are really my only cons with the game. Story content: excellent. Story pacing and structure : messy. I also have one minor con with the game play: scrounging for materials starts to feel tedious by the second half of the game. The first game also had this issue, but it was less noticeable due to the shorter length. Conclusion: story-8.5 gameplay-9 overall experience (not an average) 9/10 For some context, I would rate tlou1 story-9.5 gameplay-8 Thanks for reading my review!

Naughtdog forgot the Tlou 1? And how Joel is? You guys destroy the caracter for us fans, simply destroy like a peace of garbage, changing the way he are, a man strong and who doesn't trust anyone, thats we will NEVER forgive. And another thing that destroyed the game is force the players to like a caracter like Abby, with have no carism at all, a cold person, that kill her friends of group in the end of the game like its a easy thing to do. This was not what we expected, we like some changes, yes, but again, this distroyed all the **** nice things this game build. Expand

The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.

If you loved the original for its great characters and well-paced story – stay away from this game. However, if you’re aching to sink into the depths of depression, or just want to cut some throats and burn some zombies – Part II will deliver. [Issue#247, p.72]
