    The story is incredibly powerful and well written. The gameplay is fun, especially the gunplay. Awesome graphics.
    Every little detail of this game is dazzling.
    Don’t judge it from the spoilers, nothing compares to actually playing it.

    Very nice graphics played by a one-way tunnel, zero innovation and killed what was worth it in the first one; In a game where the main thing is the story, you can't deconstruct the characters that everyone loved feeling forced, it wasn't worth it. I now sell my copy for $ 50 before it becomes known by word of mouth and not from bought critics.

    Such a different story from the trailer. Super disappointed and even I pre-order the game from the psn, I won’t play it. For me, there is no part 2 of the last of us which I knew. I won’t buy the game made by Naughty Dog again.

    When comparing this game to the original, Its hard not to give this game a good score. The original was good but almost in every aspect this one has improved. You had Ellie and Joel bonding and travelling to find the fireflies in hopes of retrieving a cure;Joel made one important decision and that was it. The second game, I felt juggled and balanced more characters, and subplots to make the game far more dynamic and interesting. The game play is relatively the same compared to the first, with a few minor additions and open environments to make it a little more interesting. The graphics are second to none. Whether you dislike the story or not, everyone can agree that every other aspect of the game is absolutely stunning. IMO, that doesn't warrant anything under a 6. Story is only one aspect of a AAA game and its the most subjective. Take all of those terrible reviews with a grain of salt.    … Expand

    I see what they were going with it but they flopped terribly in the execution it's infuriating...I mean who tf wrote this? A teenage intern? I really have nothing more to say without spoiling...there is a ton of other games with silly stories and who reads this must have seen a movie or played a game with bad writing that goes nowhere but this time the story was perfect and the sequel ruins everything (take Game of Thrones season 8 as an example)...
    To put it in one sentence: compared to the first one it gets a zero from me nothing more sadly.

    Man that made me feel sorrow forthe death of joel. At first I did not like the idea of playing as abby but she grew from this killing machine to someone that had some thing to lose this game was another hit from naughty dog

    Ein so geniales game, Story, Charaktere, Gameplay alles 10 von 10 Punkten, und dan ist das spiel auch noch so wunderschön anzusehen. Für mich eines wenn nicht sogar das beste PS4 Spiel überhaupt.

There were multiple disconnects in this story for me. There's just nothing to be taken from this game.     the story is the single worst thing I have ever experienced. The characters are all over the place and their development from the first game is undone. Some of their actions make no sense and their characters are destroyed

    you play half the game as a character they try to shove down your throat that is not likeable at all. That story drags on and no matter what they throw at you. You do not feel for her. She is unlike able. And not fun to play as. Her story takes forever and the entire time you’re thinking “when will I play as Ellie again” becuase you do not care about Abby at all even though that’s what the game wants. It’s insane that they give you 10 hours of sob story and it still does not make you like her. You also have to fight against Ellie as her at one point. And it basically makes you want to stop playing the game. You should not be rooting for a character you play as to die,

    Not to mention the story is so out of order and all over the place. You play in a flashback and then play a flashback in that flashback and so on. Not to mention joel dies in the very beginning of the game and in the marketing they changed models to make you think he was in the game more which is straight up lies. Abby, the character they make you play as not only kills Joel but TORTURES him to death. And never feels any remorse for it, yet we’re supposed to sypathize with her because she has a cute dog? She tortures prisoners in cages brutally and at one point just turns her back on the people she once considered HER people/family with literally no remorse. When she goes to kill Dina, Ellie says wait no she’s pregnant, Abby says “good” how are we ever supposed to relate/like Abby unless you are a pyschopath like her. The pacing is also suuuuper off

    I think Dina and Ellie are a very cute couple, kind of awkward writing at times but overall good. Until the scene where Ellie reveals she is immune and then Dina randomly blurts out she is pregnant. Which is, not how conversations work. I’m kind of disappointed as how the LGBT characters were written as an LGBT person myself. This could have been a big chance for us with a huge presence and representation in a big videogame like this. But everything fell apart and now I believe it’s working against us rather than for us. It’s almost like 7 different people were told to write a story for the game and they weren’t allowed to talk to each other and then they mashed the ideas together.

В первой части я прорывался через геймплей ради сюжета. В этой части я им (гейплеем) наслаждался. Вроде всё тоже самое, но он стал глубже и разнообразней.
    Сюжет крышесносный. Это совсем не то чего вы ожидали! Это разрыв шаблона. Я трижды думал, что вот уже конец игры, и каждый раз всё закручивалось еще сильнее. Здесь нет правых, а есть свои и чужие. И у чужих тоже есть своя правда. Игра заставляет проникнутся симпатией к антогонисту. Прочуствовать всю его боль и понять его мотвацию. Пожалеть Мишку! И ты уже не знаешь кто здесь антигерой.
    Меня игра просто выпотрошила эмоционально. Это реально круто. Концовка идеальна. Я сидел в шоке доигрывая конец игры, так же как я был в шоке от финала первой части. Спасибо ноти дог за оффигенную игру!

    They are simply phenomenal. The animations are not one finished set simply played back, they are made up from all the things your character is currently doing or is close to in this world in a way I have not seen before. E.g. she (your character) wants to jump an obstacle and her left foot would be the dominant one judging from the state of her walking animation, she uses her left foot which ties her into the surroundings so fluently. And the amount of sound feedback you get, when just walking through a plastic curtain adds to that. They even thought of the dust on the floor. Crawl through the dust, it gets wiped away.

    Sometimes this animation-combo may look wonky though, there are some occasional graphic-glitches and in certain areas the walking speed doesn’t match the animations, but nothing too serious. 10/10

    Gameplay

    It is a consistent improvement of the first part. You feel the same, but everything is better. You have the additional crawling state to be even more stealthy, different heights of grass to dive into and more corners to cut, like cracks in a wall, or crawling under vehicles. Players may also consider this state for your accuracy: Crawling = highest accuracy. Plus all the “arenas” you are in when engaging enemies are now much bigger (as is the world in general). And some of the fights and enemies are special and need different approaches. You really get to engage situations in a lot of different ways.

    Physics play a bigger role in the riddles (Cue the rope physics examples) and the distinction between stealth- and walking-phases are broken up. Expect enemies at all times, even when using a workbench. And don’t expect them to be just one faction, keep your guard up at all times.

    Paired with what I said about the animation, I got the sensation I had years ago when first playing a game with fire damage. Just. So. Cool.

    Having said that, the gameplay is sadly also the weakest part of the game. There is definitely missed potential here or some much too obvious flaws and it does feel repetitive at times.

    The riddles are scarce, short and simple. Even getting into the stash rooms or getting safe combinations is not really something that gives you a rewarding feeling in the end, compared to God Of War for example, because it wasn’t that hard.

    Enemies get instanced in chunks to steer your experience, taking away your agency. There is one level where you go down a destroyed building and my sniper rifle and hearing could really have given me an advantage here, taking stalkers out from above, but no, they only appeared once I reached the level they are in. In these moments you realize the designers are being in control over your game in a way that is just too obvious.

    And one really annoying detail: Sometimes you have to hastily move around a specific item you want to pick up for your character to get just the right angle to finally do it. Bummer.

    Overall: Very cool experience, some nasty flaws. 7/10

    Story

    As with all Naughty Dog Games by far the best part of it.

    I don’t want to say too much here, because spoiling this story will take away everything that is so good about it. But I will say this: It is a long and challenging tale that feels epic and meaningful. It is a slow burner, with lots of ups and downs, that really make you feel. You feel upset, you feel happy, you feel relieved, you feel heartbroken and so on. No twist is arbitrary, everything makes sense. Especially the biggest twist in the beginning.

    It starts out as a revenge story though. And if you're not on board with everything your character does, you feel forced by the designers to do something you don’t want to do - e.g. probably sooner than your character, you as the player want her to grow and “be the good guy/girl”. You don’t even get the option of “not acting”, sometimes forcing you to do unspeakable things. That may be crossing a line for some, especially paired with what I already said about feeling steered by the designers. But it’s also not something spoiling the story itself.

    Lastly, the storytelling via exploration… it’s perfection. You can spend hours over hours looking at a decayed apartment, reading its inhabitants last notes and imagining what might have happened there. Perfection is all I can say.

    Altogether easy 10/10. Would give more if possible.

    So overall 9/10, gameplay being the biggest flaw. It’s definitely worth the money. Play it, judge for yourself.

    Also: I wouldn’t mind playing a sequel or spinoff with a certain bulky someone at its center.    … Expand

    It’s not terrible but it’s no where near as good as the first one. The game situations are very repetitive. The storyline is boring and too LBGT agenda heavy. There are a lot of characters that I didn’t really care about. The graphics and visuals are the best part of the game.

All around this game was just hard to get through... the writing is something you'd see in some Netflix zombie series, the gameplay has some good improvements but over 25+ hours it gets extremely monotonous and predictable. The characters are so poorly developed and feel extremely forced, for example Dina and Ellie find a weed farm and decide to have sex all while Joel is about to be tortured (and that's not the only sex scene) they are extremely out of place and just cringy honestly. The developers completely forgot what made the first game so great and that was the dynamic between an extremely closed off man who's lost everything, and the girl that was essentially his second chance. They had some of the right ideas for tlou2 but it was executed completely wrong. I don't recommend spending the $80 for how unsatisfying and generally upsetting the game is in the end. If this is the direction they want to go with writing then movies would be the better move, a game is meant to satisfy the person playing regardless of the end being sad, it felt like while I was playing everything I was forced to do was out of spite.… Expand

Gameplay fantastic, visually stunning, the soundtrack by Gustavo is arguably some of the most beautiful musical scores ever composed, then they went a butchered everyone’s favourite character in the dumbest way, the fact tommy would openly tell these random people who him and Joel where when they have never met them simply doesn’t add up it makes these characters look dumb and they are not the whole plot is set up purely to then push this vengeance plot before trying to make you have empathy for this Abby who no one likes or cares about I’m hugely disappointed whoever thought this story was a good idea was f***ing idiot, I’m going to forget this game this is not a 95 the critics are clearly getting there pockets filled with cash this shows no respect for the first game and frankly is the biggest load of bull I have ever been forced to play after 7 years of waiting... In a violinty apocalyptic world People are worried about changing their gender and diversity. It feels like unnecessary and artificial. Forcing SWJ political messages to a large public in a Video game is not good because its intertainment, a game not a newspaper.

    This game is a masterpiece and an emotional rollercoaster. It capture the dark tone of this world perfectly and the oscar winning performances from the actors gives extreme depth to the characters. There is no hero in this nor a villain but all are survivors trying to look after their own. It's so much more than just the cycle of violence

    Meaningless death is not something that touch reader's heart. It just makes the story foolish.
    Characters don't have depth. The story use characters like tools.

    Геймплей и графика, возможно, и на лучшем уровне, но сюжет - это катастрофа, и дело тут вообще не в ЛГБТ составляющей!!!

    Тупо высосать из пальца и слить всеми любимого персонажа первой части, который всю жизнь, так сказать, готов был отдать за Элли, чтобы весь сюжет строился на линии "Месть ради мести", но в полной мере, при этом, неся посыл "Месть - это плохо, прости и отпусти, иначе потеряешь всё и всех".

    Всю игру меня переполняли чувства ненависти и ярости - какие-то непонятные и ненужные, в данный момент, сцены; персонажи, которые переобуваются десять раз за 5 минут - "Хватит мстить, они уже и так настрадались сполна", но через 5 минут, с покалеченной ногой и без глаза, орущий "Ты же дала слово убить их всех!".

    Такое чувство, что сценаристам была поставлена задача не только убить всех персонажей первой части игры (или, как минимум, покалечить их, лишив парочки конечностей), но и, введя новых героев, тут же убивать их, неожиданно и жестоко.
    Да - это апокалипсис, да - это войны между людьми, да - в таком мире всегда будут смерть и разрушения, но, черт возьми, Джоэл, забитый клюшкой ****** Эбби ради мести...
    Что? Что вообще происходит в этой игре?!

    Тот же Джоэл воспринимается как совершенно чужой человек, будто бы не с ним ты прошел через пол страны, оберегая маленькое сокровище.
    Та же Элли, пережившая столько боли и страданий, но в конце первой части все еще оставшаяся каким-то лучиком света в этом мерзком мире, выросла в страшного монстра, который совершенно лишён эмоций и не может понять, почему же Джоэл так поступил в этой чертовой больнице.

    For game that's heavily based on story narrative, it is filled with plot holes and moronic decisions. Spoiler but if you were looking for an Ellie and Joel team play you will be sorry. Not only does Ellie and Joel not interact with each other but Joel dies 2 hours into the game by a new protagonist Abby. In which the game makes you play 14 hours as this character trying to make you feel sympathetic, how can you feel sympathetic when Joel saved Abby's life from a horde of Clickers only to be brutally murdered at abbys hands but it's okay it's a Revenge story remember, you know that you're going to kill Abby in the end right. Well you would be wrong not only do you not get a choice to kill her but after killing hundreds if not thousands of people to get to her at the very end you get an epiphany that you shouldn't kill her because revenge is bad. And that's just a story.

    Characters are bland two dimensional personality, there was little to no character development at all. This was a real disappointment considering ln The Last of Us 1 had a lot of character building it really put you into the story made you feel immersed into the environment when the protagonist was hurt you felt it when the protagonist was feeling Joy you felt it. This game however felt as if it was trying way too hard to achieve something that was just not there. It has left me more angry and frustrated then any other emotion.

    Gameplay was better than the last of us 1 however due to the story I just could not enjoy it and is why my score for gameplay is 7 out of 10, there's nothing really overly new besides two new enemies and a jump mechanic that's laughably horrible.

    Graphics are the only selling point I could give this game, it looks absolutely amazing seeing how the world being overtaken by Nature is just jaw dropping and can be arguably next gen graphics or the absolute pinnacle of PlayStation 4.

    Overall I feel like this game is a complete failure narrative wise. Gameplay was niche but not enjoyable. Characters Hollow and unlikable.    … Expand

    Personally I think it is an actual good game, the graphics and all the gameplay are incredible, sadly the plot wasn't what most people would like, but it is what it is, it doesn't matter if you liked or not the ending, it is a great game.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I absolutely adored TLOU1. I wasn't sure that I wanted this story to be continued. The thing that made the ending of the previous game so perfect was the glaring lack of choices that the player is given: in the hands of another game developer, the player might have been given a binary decision about whether to save Ellie or to save the rest of the world. Instead, the player is forced down a path, to act against their better judgment, enacting Joel’s selfishness and continuing the global nightmare of fungal zombie apocalypse.

    Part II takes that design choice and expands on it. Throughout the majority of the game, the player must make the onscreen characters do things that the player themselves does not want to do. It is uncomfortable.

    This game is not light-hearted escapism. It’s heavy. It’s also a riveting piece of fiction. With TLOU2, NaughtyDog managed to pull off something remarkable: they continue this story in a way that feels like a natural consequence of the previous game's ending. The storytelling and dialogue of this complex, layered epic are unparalleled in the medium of video games. The onscreen performances are so real that you don't feel like you're watching animated characters on the screen, you feel like you're watching real people. You see their micro-expressions, see hope and despair in their eyes as they navigate the extraordinary circumstances in which they have been placed.

    Almost every character you meet is layered and complex. I say “almost every character” because there is one character, Jesse, who felt as though he didn't have enough screen time for me to understand his relationship with Ellie. Given how nuanced all the other characters are, this is a relatively minor complaint. Ellie is quieter, sadder, angrier this time around, and that feels righteous to me, given the deeply traumatic last several years of her life. Abby's character is impeccably drawn as well. At the beginning of the game I absolutely despised her. As I came to learn more about her motivations, I couldn't help but sympathize with her. As I got to see her relationship unfold with new characters Yara and Lev, I saw her genuinely caring for them, and I started to want a happy ending for her.

    I know that a lot of folks are upset that Joel died. What did you expect? He did terrible things in TLOU1. He lives in a brutal world in which people die unexpectedly all the time. His death is MEANT to be shocking and upsetting. That love that you feel towards him, sadness at his death, the anger at this new muscley Abby character is the perfect impetus for Ellie's revenge story. And the fact that he was killed by the daughter of the surgeon he murdered in cold blood at the end of the previous game felt, to me, both unexpected and inevitable. His past misdeeds were always going to catch up with him.

    The flashbacks peppered throughout the game add layers to Ellie, Joel, and Abby's characters and flesh out their motivations. The astronaut sequence in particular felt like a beautiful send-off for Joel and left me with a lump in my throat. These flashbacks provide the narrative some room to breathe in between its major chapters.

    And you will need room to breathe, because good lord this gameplay is INTENSE. Each encounter is a puzzle in which the player has to figure out how to get past all the enemies in front of them with exactly the inventory that you already have. You’re subjected to edge-of-your-seat, white-knuckle gameplay that alternately had me yelping with horror and grinning with sadistic pleasure when I executed an enemy. Moments later, I would feel guilt in my complicity with Ellie's acts of heinous violence as I heard the shrieks of dying enemies.

    It’s a bummer that the enemy AI is kind of dumb on the default difficulty setting because that hinders the game’s ability to shine as a stealth experience. I would definitely recommend playing on Hard difficulty to help the stealth elements of this game truly come to life.

    This game bleeds polish from every pore. The visuals are nothing short of astonishing, and Seattle is beautifully designed and realized. NaughtyDog cleverly placed significant story events within iconic buildings in real-life Seattle (the Seattle aquarium, the Ferris wheel) which lends a wonderful sense of geography to the narrative. I currently live in Seattle. It was uncanny to walk through a post-apocalyptic version of my city.

    The ending is sad, uncomfortable, bleak. As I reflected on that final conversation between Ellie and Joel, that line from The Dark Knight kept coming to mind: “You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become a villain.” This journey made me feel strong emotions for these characters. At the end of the day, I think that's exactly what good art is supposed to do: make me feel, not necessarily make me feel good. NaughtyDog made bold and risky choices here.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'm not sure why everyone is hating on this game. I feel like it is a solid 9.4. I don't have to agree or disagree with something to enjoy it. It's entertainment, not a life altering experience.

    The game adds to the first game by adding additional movements, weapons, and minor tweaks. The only reason I can't give it a higher score is the constant fights get to be monotonous. Some parts felt way too drawn out. The first game moved at a nice pace, and this game is a much slower pace that gets a little frustrating at times.

    As far as the twists and turns the game took, I enjoyed and hated them. I didn't like seeing Ellie as the bad guy or Abbey as someone I empathized with and actually felt was more "mature" in the game. There sometimes is no happy ending, and The Last of Us Part 2 didn't give us one. It gave a great insight into forgiveness, love, bleakness, and the failures of being human.

    I can only imagine people are upset by Ellie's sexual orientation, the death of Joel, or the characterization of Ellie in the game. Who cares if she is a lesbian. Absolutely non-issue for this game or any game. I think everyone is bent over Joel dying early on and Ellie is no longer a helpless child, but a vengeful adult.

    The game is extremely violent and I'm not sure how I feel about it. It was uncomfortable in a few parts and I was constantly wanting to make different decisions contrary to Ellie's decisions. I didn't feel I needed to do that with Abbey.

    Overall, a really great game and it will stand up as one of the best on the Playstation 4 or any game this generation.    … Expand

The Last of Us Part 2 is perhaps the most quality high-budget title out now (as of June 2020) that falls under these kinds of games. The game is fun, very brutal, exciting, and thoroughly immersive. It leaves the player wanting more high quality violent games*SIMPLE VERDICT*: If you enjoy mature, violent, and grim video games – then this game will indeed satisfy your need for carnage. The Last of Us Part 2 is perhaps the most quality high-budget title out now (as of June 2020) that falls under these kinds of games. The game is fun, very brutal, exciting, and thoroughly immersive. It leaves the player wanting more high quality violent games with the same grounded take (Spec Ops: The Line is another example). The story provides an in-depth look at what vengeance can do to individuals and how it affects and impacts human judgment, and the consequences of such judgment. Very few games (let alone high-budget intellectual properties) explore the topic of utter hatred and the emotional toll it can take on an individual.

    What prevents a perfect score for this game is the uncalled-for obvious push for mushy scenes, PDA, and developer's obvious hints at representation and if you put that together with the developer's (Neil Druckmann) self-admitted agenda push, today's digital mob mentality, and outrage culture, and how toxic social media is; this obvious spotlight inclusion, as opposed to the representation being treated as just a by-product of the title, here in this game it got in the way of the immersion plenty of times while playing. Maybe this game was meant for the social media activist crowd? I don't know. People today should know that video games are now mainstream and that consumers are becoming more selective in their buying choices. If people are selective and know their style regarding fashion, movies, music and now today even video games, then game developers should be aware of that too by now. Be realistic of who your core consumer demographic is, creators. Male, 24 yrs and hetero here, and fortunately I was able to look past the obvious pandering in this game to objectively conclude that The Last of Us Part 2 is indeed a good game. I do remain hopeful for a multiplayer component.

    *Edit (06/28/2020): Replaying and rewatching this game. The Last of Us Part 2 is indeed one of the best games I have ever played. Regarding my complaint about representation --playing this game, I actually changed my mind it actually is just a by-product; it really doesn't harm the overall takeaway. I was blindsided by the outrage leading up to this. I realize that even though still this game's hate hasn't really died down yet, I feel obligated to say that this game will still nevertheless garner more of an appreciation with time. Its still a level of fun-violence and sophisticated quality I can only compare to Red Dead Redemption 2 as of now. Story-wise this game is one insightful character-study. Lots of symbolism, nuance and motivational analysis of the characters that the ending and trying to understand why the characters do what they do is the reason why I can't get this game out of my head. I'm actually stunned how captivating this game is. I was someone who disliked the ending to the first game, and satisfyingly, knowing what I know, the ending to Part 2 felt very poetic. This is Ellie's story, and perhaps the true individual she was trying to get even with and put to rest in her head once and for all really isn't who it seems to Ellie and the player of this game at initial glance. No spoilers here, but the quote "I don't think I can ever forgive you for that. But I would like to try." is the very thing that brings the whole entire game to full circle. You get to see Joel and Ellie strengthening their bond while crossing the whole country through many cities, towns, fighting against many different enemies in different environments throughout four seasons in a year. We get to see a bad-ass Joel, who is a perfect Father Figure and Ellie - a playful but fearsome 14-yo girl, and seeing them together talking and helping each other out is something I’ve never seen in any forms of entertainment. The ending was so good that I never thought there would be a sequel. BUT LET’S GET REAL HERE... the sequel is just a mess.
    In TLOU part 2. It can be seen that the basics stayed almost the same. The graphic is enormously improved and the environment is much more richer and more realistic. Gameplay is improved and songs are excellent - they made mighty impacts on players’ feelings and emotions. But what disappointing was the storytelling. Everything should be connected together from the previous part in a logical and sensible way, but they just use the fact that Joel killed a significantly unimportant surgeon to try to save Ellie, just to make TLOU 2 happened seems really fanfic. Character development is poor and insignificant, like besides from Ellie and Joel, I hardly get a feeling for any characters else. Playing as Ellie doesn’t have the same vibe as the first part when she pretty much just mumbles around being sad because Naughty Dogs’ stupid storytelling (Don’t get me wrong, she’s still awesome and all). Environmental puzzles just disappears, and instead you just follow the route and that’s it. This is spoil-free but half of the game you just play as someone who’s NOT Ellie and it’s pointless. Even up until the end, all I did was watching Joel and Ellie cut-scenes.
    My expectation was to see Joel and Ellie rolling again together, but instead ND just punches us hard in the face from the beginning and tries to relief us in the second useless half of the game. When you get to the point when you play as an another character, you’ll be missing playing Ellie so hard.
    I love TLOU, I love seeing Joel and Ellie together. I mean this review is a mess already, just like TLOU 2.
    IF YOU’RE UP TO THE GAMEPLAY, GO AHEAD AND PLAY. But if you really care about the relationship between Joel and Ellie, or what was good about the first TLOU, keep yourself away from the game, you can listen to Ellie and Joel singing, but don’t play the game.

    I don't know if this will go down as my favorite game of all time but it is the most well made game I've ever played. Nobody has ever attempted to tell a story like this in a videogame. The story is not an easy one to digest, and challenges the player in new, groundbreaking ways. Everything is improved from the original which is my favorite game of all time.     Very boring! I think this game would be ok if you didn’t play the first game.....very boring and uninteresting throughout.....looks amazing but owning a Ferrari with a mini engine is just not for me.

Graphics, action and storytelling were a great and bigger step from its predecessor. It's a dark and brutal game but beautiful at the same time. I can see why some people hate it because of the emotional attachment to certain characters in part 1 and how they were used in part 2. Despite the early heartbreaking moment that most wishes didn't happen. I thought it was necessary and having the ability to play both sides of the story to get the perspectives is what makes this game great. I hated Abby in the beginning and learned to love the character as I played throughout to which I had a hard time playing when coming to the confrontations between Ellie and Abby. This game is definitely worth the money and does not deserve the hate it's getting. However, I wished the game was even longer or had the multiplayer mode as it did in part 1. Excited for the direction it'll take in part 3 if ND decides to make a sequel.… Expand

Gameplay, graphics and the voice actors really did a good job in making this game, so kudos to them, the writing however, SUCKS as the second game completely ruins the characters in the first game and we were forced to play as the killer who kills Joel for the HALF OF THE GAME, and then Ellie SPARES HER IN THE END when she already sacrificed so much just to get to her.

The reason we all wanted a sequel was to see how the relationships of the characters we know and love are doing and maybe meet some new faces along the way. We all wanted to visit some old friends but nope naughty dog said forget that and throw pretty much a new cast of unlikable and unredeemable people for us to play as while completely disrespecting our main characters in every possible way. Very uncharacteristic decisions are made by our Joel Tommy and Ellie which without we don’t have this forced story. I love the first game so much I would call it my favorite game of all time without a doubt. This one however Is completely disrespectful. The flashback with Joel and Ellie at the museum is beautiful and especially where he sings Pearl Jam for her !! That’s what we want and I give those parts of the game a solid 10 so I’ll give the game a 1 just for those scenes alone but the store is a solid negative 7… Expand

    But no, it was real, and it was what they had intended.
    Immediate turn-off number one.

    Now, let me get to the story. Absolutely Horrid. What part one's story had as a story of hope, this utter mess had destroyed to become some sort of social justice public announcement. Again, I was instantly turned off by what the story had become.

    Now, the gameplay to me in the original was always secondary to the story.
    Slow paced, hide-and-seek, limited ammo gameplay. Nice, but not its saving grace.
    It is basically the same with few nice new features.

    Graphics are amazing as usually, but the disaster of a story and cringe cutscenes and agenda pushing messages won't save it this time.

Graphics, music, sound design and animations were absolutely amazing, but none of that matters when the story is trash. Gameplay is meh but that's always been the case even with the previous game.

Fantastic gameplay, real moral conflict, obviously stunning visuals, and most of all an under-appreciated narrative. There was one respawn glitch that made me lose progress and the back-to-back cutscenes transitioning to the epilogue felt cumbersome.For me the Last of Us was a comfort game. Part II ripped me out of my seat and flung my heart around like a ragdoll like no other game has. Fantastic gameplay, real moral conflict, obviously stunning visuals, and most of all an under-appreciated narrative. There was one respawn glitch that made me lose progress and the back-to-back cutscenes transitioning to the epilogue felt cumbersome. Overall though, one of the best narrative games I’ve played.     Yo digo que deberíamos valorar el juego por qué está muy adelantado a su época debemos apreciar sus gráficos y sus paisajes y saber que Nauty Dog se esforzó mucho durante 7 años para traernos este juego además no le pondría un 10 por la falta del personaje principal que es Joel y que me gusta que no solo controlemos a Ellie.

The storytelling, if done in a different order, I believe would have made the dynamic between the player and Abby more interesting. However, because Joel died almost immediately, and we knew who did it, making us play as Abby for 6+ hours felt forced. I found myself rushing because I was kind of uninterested in Abby; I felt betrayed by her, so why would I want to play her? They should have humanized her BEFORE she killed Joel.

    Otherwise, the game was a massive 10/10 for me. I love the graphics, the attention to detail, and the ending was honestly perfect to end Ellie's character arch.    … Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
