    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. First, let me say that all of the negative reviews here are from some very hateful people. Who just don't like or can't deal with the fact that Ellie is a, oh my god, Lesbian!!!

    The nerve of Naughty Dog, making Ellie into a non cookie cutter character.

    The negative reviews could also have something to do with what happens to Joel.

    But c'mon, its doubtful that all of y'all even own the game, and if you do, likely haven't beaten the thing yet.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I have played and finished The Last of Us Part II unlike 90% of the user reviews here. It’s a technical, visual, and most importantly storytelling masterpiece presented in a once in a lifetime way. People aren’t being open-minded enough and aren’t getting the message, only jumping on the bandwagon of hate like mindless sheep. Sad really, because this isn’t a “lazy cashgrab”, this is a quality game from a quality studio through and through. I understand why some people might dislike it but my only issue with it would be is pacing sometimes. I think ND did a phenomenal job in showing us both perspectives and as a matter of fact, Abby is my favorite character! The duality of Abby and Ellie, the overall arching message (although not new in on itself but is presented in a masterful way). This is a must play, and a 9.7/10 from me.… Expand

    This is once in a decade game experience, great mechanics, great story, impacting performances, chocking by design, but has to be experienced, Easily GOTY. Will remain in history among the top ones. Looking forward for the next Naughty Dog will present us.

    This video game may not be for everyone, but for what this video game is attempting to accomplish, this game is a master piece. The gameplay, art direction, cinematics, action/excitement, and overall presentation is one of the best third person action games in ps4.

    The last of us part II is simply the best videogame of this generation and not only. The story and the gameplay is incredible and all the characters are written perfectly. In conclusion The last of us part II is pure art!

    Naughty Dog and Sony have done it again and created a true masterpiece of a game. We should count ourselves very lucky to have companies like Naughty Dog and Sony. I can't wait to see what they cook up next for the PS5 but I'm sure its going to be groundbreaking again.

If you are able to analyze and appreciate the level of quality and skill ND has, at conveying emotion in their medium (and parallel to the characters themselves in real-time) - despite how that makes you feel - well you will then understand what so many critics did.

At the moment we feel anger, hatred for Abby, but then we see that in fact she is not the real “villain”, but Joel was. If we think about it, Abby belonged to the fireflies, which were looking for a cure for humanity. From the other side, we saw Ellie and Joel, who literally killed everyone for an insignificant cause. If we see everything out of the box, in Part II, we love the villager and we wanted to kill the protagonist. But little by little we started to understand that abby did what she had to do, she sought revenge which in turn led her to emptiness. Ellie taking her revenge also killed all the people that Abby loved or knew, that in the end, the two were left alone, because of revenge. That's the moral of the story. Revenge leads nowhere.     Probably the best game of ND and one of the best game of this generation. PS4 is a must for every single lover of this industry, stop hating. Some choices in this game are really though to accept: this is it's beauty. World it's not black or white, it's grey often. A masterpiece, from start till end

It’s astonishing the story the game tells in a way the utilizes the medium in a way I don’t think would be effective in other mediums. The game’s use of perspective in telling the story is incredible and makes for some of the best story telling yet in gaming.

I understand why lots of people just couldn’t accept what happened, but if you at least play that game and accept what you see, you will get an unforgettable emotional experience .     This game is perfection. Visually stunning and amazing fluid controls and combat. The story is great and a natural continuation of the first. If you want to play a stunning example of the pinnacle of technology and story telling in video games play this. Never felt so attached to the characters in a video game since the first one. Cant wait to play through again.! Great job naughty dog

Story with heart, heavy themes, emotion and impact! Its what made me focus on story driven single player games.     Tout d'abord, graphiquement, ce jeu est le plus réussi de notre génération.     Du point de vue du gameplay :

    Oui vous aurez à explorer toute la carte et ouvrir tous les tiroirs possibles et imaginables si vous comptez survivre dans une difficulté élevée. Oui, les combats sont moins spectaculaires que God of War ou Uncharted
    Mais les combats vous donneront du fil à retordre, ils ne se dérouleront jamais de la même façon grâce à une des intelligences artificielles les plus réussies. Vous ressentirez la violence de la mort que vous semez, l'idée étant de servir la palette d'émotions immenses que le jeu vous offre

    Concernant l'histoire :

    Le grand point fort de ce jeu est ici, l'histoire, ce que les scénaristes et le réalisateur ont voulu nous faire ressentir. Cette partie du jeu le propulse tout simplement au rang de chef d'oeuvre. J'écrivais auparavant concernant la palette d'émotions que vous fait ressentir le jeu, vous n'êtes réellement pas prêt. Vous allez ressentir de la rage, de la haine, de l'apaisement, du dégoût, de la peur, de la déception, de l'émerveillement, et à nouveau de la haine et de la rage, pour finir sur de la compassion et de l'empathie. Aucun jeu n'avait réussi à pousser à ce point l'expérience émotionnelle liée à un jeu vidéo. En plus de l'écriture, les excellents acteurs permettent de vraiment vous impliquer dans l'histoire.

    Le jeu vous laisse un mélange de sentiments étrange lorsque vous le finirez : Tout d'abord, l'accomplissement d'une quête relativement difficile selon la difficulté choisie. La haine, la tristesse et une once de bonheur, liés à l'histoire que vous venez de vivre. Vous ressentirez également un sentiment de manque, tout d'abord concernant les événements et les personnages que vous avez rencontrés.
    Mais également un sentiment de manque, de se dire que l'on ne jouera pas à un chef d'oeuvre, de cette envergure et de cette puissance, avant des années.    … Expand

    Melhorou em todos os aspectos a campanha do primeiro jogo. Desenvolveu sua história com personagens bem desenvolvidos e uma trama envolvente vista em poucas obras lançadas recentemente. The Last of Us Parte 2 certamente é uma obra que todo fã de uma boa história deva jogar

    Took me a while because of some projects. Gameplay is amazing and it allows for more freedom than the previous game. I have rarely fired any bullets as I've stealth killed my way, aside from a few bits that pretty much require you to fire some rounds. The story is harsh, but right now I think I'm going forward motivated by the same feelings Ellie has, which I thinks says a lot about howTook me a while because of some projects. In this field this game succeeds in many ways as you go on your bloody path towards vengence for the death of joel you come to realise not everything is black and white. The mist powerful part of this story is when you let abby go showing how hard it is to just let go of your anger or risk losing everything i loved every minute in this world and the most shocking part for me is realising there are no real villains here just 2 people caught in a sea of hate and vengence.… Expand

Однозначно 10 из 10 и однозначно игра стоила тех лет, сколько её с нетерпением ждал. Словами не возможно передать те впечатления и эмоции, что дарит игра. I don’t love the anti-revenge statement of the game because it is somewhat nonsensical at times. Now on the issue of the plot of the game, as the creator and director himself had said before, it would not please everyone and was not made for that. It was made to really hurt. The sudden and raw death of one of the most remarkable characters in history, Joel. The introduction of one of the most controversial characters ever made, Abby. A script proposal with different points of view and an ending for Ellie with a very bitter and extremely depressing taste. All these factors were enough to split the consolidated fan base of the 1st game, and that was the intention. The Last Of Us Part II is not a game for everyone and never will be. The fundamental factor to like this game is to have empathy for characters that you initially hated. If you don't, you certainly won't like it. This is the most emotionally complex game ever made.     I will not talk about the plot, some like it, some don't. For me personally, the pluses outweighed all the minuses, and the pluses, of course, are Ellie-Joel's scenes.
    The ending is simply heartbreaking. And very grown up. And very, very sad. But I did not see anything illogical in this. It seems to me that everything is on the case. Everybody lost!

Завязка действительно кажется банальной и высосанной из пальца, но чем дальше играешь, тем все интереснее и сложнее становится, и закручивается в огромный клубок из чувств, сопереживания и восторга от происходящего. Ну и эти 40% игры за Эбби, то чего я сам побаивался и не хотел-забудьте. Игра, сюжет, масштаб того, что происходит во время игровой сессии за неё просто поражает. Эбби великолепна, раскрыта и показана нам полностью, она замечательна. И вы, возможно, сможете ее полюбить не меньше Элли. Я почти смог.     Graphics: Ranging from large beautiful landscape scenery to grim foggy forests and run down cities this has got to be some of the best work I've seen to date. Also the amazing facial animations are best in class. Without a doubt 10/10

    Music/voice acting: The music is still amazing. Emotional and it enriches the mood/story. If there is one thing that rings in my mind when thinking about the original game it's the sad hopelessness that ringings out on a string instrument. You know which tune i'm thinking off. If you don't know, play the original and come back. The voice acting seem natural and all the actors are doing a great job much like the original. 10/10.

    Gameplay: The game mechanics are very similar to the original and will feel very familiar if you played the first game. Controlling the characters is a little "clumsy" at times. There was a couple of fun new upgrades and weapons. Enemy AI is much better with regards to flanking and attacking you strategically, but its way too easy to lose detection. What bothered me most was the AI off teammates who sneak around to avoid detection, and in so doing, bumps into you and cause yourself to be detected. This game does not feel like the perfect 3rd person shooter experience, but neither is it designed to do so. Sneaking and strategic attacks are the main route and the main focus is the story. Gameplay 7-8/10.

    Story: This is a very controversial topic. It will leave fans heartbroken (me included) and hence some of the negative reviews. It's without a doubt on of the darkest stories I've experienced in a game. ND does a great job of portraying the harsh post-apocalyptic world and the most gruesome sides of human nature. This is portrayed in many ways e.g. torture and murder. It shows Ellie's loss of humanity as she desperately seeks revenge even giving up on her life dream. They do a great job with controlling the tempo of this game. You have slow relaxed parts and you have action filled sequences, but you know that you're never safe and you've learned to never let your guard down so you're on edge through the whole game. 10/10.

    Lastly, do not believe the immense negativism that is associated with this game. The negative critique is most likely written by people who have nothing to do with the game (e.g. anti-LGBT) or but*hurt people who can't come to the acceptance with the nature of this horrific post-apocalyptic world. If you played the first and enjoyed it, chances are high that you're going to like this one as well.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I unterstand why people are pissed. They don‘t like how the game killed off Joel and say that the story doesn‘t make sense. In my opinion it does. Of course, the fact that the doctor, Joel killed at the end of TLOU 1, hat a daughter that would hunt down her dads killer seems kinda random. In my opinion the story still makes sense. In the world of the Last of Us, people don’t die like heroes they just get shot or whatever and that’s it. The enemies you kill are just getting shot or stabbed and die without much drama and so do our protagonists. Joel, who forgot how to trust while living in his peaceful little town Jackson, Jesse surprisingly getting shot in the face by Abby and so on.
    Also, Ellie is not better than Abby. They both kill with no regrets, the only reason you hate Abby and love Ellie is, that you know her from the first game.
    At first I hated Abby as well but playing her backstory made me like her more and more.
    The only thing that really pissed me off is the ending.
    From the point on, where Ellie and Dina live on the farm, with Jessie’s Baby etc. the game felt kinda weird. Ellie looked weird, Abby looked like a totally different person, the whole thing just felt like a different game in the last few ours.
    The Gameplay is not the best but actually improved a lot and is way more extensive and better to control then in the first game.

    All in all I think that, even though the fame gets way too much hate, its a masterpiece and next to Part 1, one of naughty dogs best games.    … Expand

    Excelente con detalles en algunas muertes, sigue con su trama le falto sabor y mas dolor aun así quedo bien, grandes mecanicas de game play buenos personajes final para pensar sin embargo un grandioso juego

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
