The graphics are neat! That's it. There's nothing else that good.
And the graphics are a 10, but this game is a story game, and the story sucks ass.

This game gets a 1 for its graphical achievement but thats it. The story was convoluted, unsatisfying, and unresolving. The mistreatment of beloved characters to fit this unfinished and half baked narrative is absolutely ridiculous. The villian of this story wins and i wouldn't mind if you didn't spend the entire first game making me love the protagonists. Very unsatisfied.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Last of Us Part 2 is a game I struggled through, yet savoured every moment of. It's a graphical marvel with slick game-play to boot, but the story is something I will never forget due to the pain it caused and the traumatic journey it took me on. This game to me was a masterpiece, which unfortunately like many things deserving of that title, many are not able to give the appreciation it warrants.

I'll address the story more a bit further down, but first I have to marvel at how visually stunning this game is. The locales are breathtaking, from the open plains to the skeletal remains of a city being eroded away, it's a marvel to look at. The way the locations are structured too are so organic as well, providing just enough prompting of where to go without making everything too obviously a place to climb or a crate to hide behind. Few things seem out of place, which is exactly what we'd expect Naughty Dog to achieve. The motion capture is also far beyond any other game I've played, particularly the facial animations. There is so much emotion portrayed through the characters expressions, through subtle tremors, tired eyes and frown line movements, you really are able to really feel what the characters are feeling. It's a marvel to watch every cut scene and admire the character design on display.

The game play is also an notable improvement from the first game, with incredibly complex combat situations. There are a variety of ways to tackle every scenario, although stealth is strongly encouraged. You will however find that the enemy AI is far more savvy in this game, so going through the larger stages unnoticed is an incredible challenge. You will get noticed, which can often lead to very sticky situations where you realise your character isn't super woman. Death will be swift (just as the WLF wishes for you). The infected are also far more formidable. You can't plot the path of a clicker any more, if you sit in front of it for too long you will be maimed. Don't even get me started on the stalkers, they're the worst in part 1 and they are so much more agile now. By the way, keep your eyes peeled on the wall fungus, just trust me on this. The new infected types are also worthy editions, although I thought there could have been a few more.

I must digress though that the game-play is not perfect. Ellie's trap mines are seldom useful for mine and I kind of wish I could have suppressed more weapons than just the semi-auto handgun. Also I thought the way the skill tree worked, although intuitive, made no logical sense for the sake of realism (Since when does drugs make someone better at crafting bombs). There also seemed to be some imbalance with the amount of scrap each character could get for crafting, leading to no crafting at workbenches 50% of the time on the normal setting. but these were small issues in the grand scheme of things.

For mine, the story is what this game should and will be remembered for. Revenge is the key theme, but the motives behind this is so integral. The people in this world are in a living hell, few things matter but the lives of their loved ones. When those loved ones die in this dog-eat-dog world, what little these characters have is stripped away from them. For Ellie this trauma is so palpable, she is mentally ill and she's filled with rage. Love is something which she no longer seems to trust, and as the player you can see this conflict within her in her relationship with Dina (by the way, this game is not LGBT propaganda like the incels review bombing the game would have you believe. It's just a relationship like any other in this world). As the player you have the knowledge that you are taking her on a self-destructive path. She's experienced incredibly complex trauma which the writers have accurately portrayed how this would mess with her head. She isn't a redeeming character, but nor is she supposed to be, no-one goes through this sort of trauma and comes out the end of it hunky dory. The fact that you hate so many choices she makes was so deliberate on the part of the developers. But they also give you plenty of beautiful moments for her in flashbacks which help the games more recent developments make more sense.

I will admit that I was initially unsure about playing as Abby, but the game was so much better for it. It's as much her tale as it is Ellie's, and they're both dealing with very similar trauma. It completely changed the dynamic of her character being able to see things from her perspective too, and learn that there's far more than meets the eye with her. Her side of the story starts off slow, you want to hate her, but as you continue to play as her you realise that hate isn't completely warranted. You realise that she and Ellie are just incredibly broken people with little reason to live or die, with complex trauma clouding their judgement, yet motivating their every move. When you see things this way, they are wonderfully complex characters.

For people who ask to change the ending or the story of the game, it is very stupid of them since naughty dog will not make changes in a game that is already 100% finished, the game came out very recently and you have to have a lot of time to play the entire campaign and that means that few people can really agree to criticize the game with their heads

I will start by writing that yes, the game doesn't objectively deserves a 0, but I rate it that way because it doesn't deserve a 10 either - far from that and what matters is the average score so I want my contribution to bring it as low as possible.
This out of the way, people might think that is stupid, please read to the end.

Everyone is unanimous to what's good and what's bad in this game - at least everyone who's honest.
The mocap and other technical aspects are top notch and the accessibility features will probably be a proof of concept for years to come. That's said, good job on that.

Now on everything else ... To me, the game is a complete failure on mostly everything.
The gameplay in the last of us 1 was quite simple with gathering supplies, crafting different tools and shooting/melee sneaking on ennemies. What has changed in 7 years ? Not much. So little actually that it wants you to wonder, what have you guys been doing for 7 years on that front ? Did you really spend 10% of your time working on the actual gameplay and 90% on accessibility features ?

Now to be honest, it wouldn't even be that bad since once again, everyone agrees that what made the last of us 1 a great game wasn't really the gameplay, but the story and its characters.

Now is the rollercoaster and where i've got my beef.
I didn't really care for that infamous scene - I was actually expecting it even though I hadn't seen any leaks, I mean the game has been advertised by Sony and ND as a quest for revenge, and in all gameplay trailers you would see Ellie as the main character ? You don't need to be a genius to make 2+2 and figure out the very few reasons that would be a motivator for Ellie to start a revenge spree.

Does it make sense though ? Most people are arguing that involved characters would have not acted that way and it's true. You don't build up a character with traits, knowledge, behaviors, to throw that up the windows because it is convenient to make a plot advancement. And that stuff also happens with Ellie who is really just **** most of the time.
The rest of the cast is honestly weak and uninteresting and the story in itself is pointless. I guess you would say thats the whole point of vengeance being pointless but after 30 hours of doing repetitive scavenging hunting, it leaves you with a bitter taste, not because of the story ending but because you wasted your own time. The game leaves you with nothing.

Finally, I want to emphasize that i'm not one to care for political agendas and stuff in games, mostly I don't even care about reviews - my account creation was to make a review against what blizzard had done with warcraft 3 reforged, that says a lot about how much it had to take for me to write a review.
Regarding the whole agendas stuff, I didn't even knew who Neil druckmann was but I have to say after seeing the bigger picture, I'm convinced that there actually is political agenda in that game.
There's too much of it. Too much of Druckmann himself in the game :
The DR Uckmann game card ?
The motion capture for Manny being Neil Druckmann ?
Neil Druckmann being jewish and the only represented religion in the game being judaism ?

This stuff is Kojima level of putting yourself as a director into your game to the point where you put some of your own personal beliefs into the game and to the player that you shouldn't be.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for the representation of minorities, sharing culture and all of that but here there is something really wrong and at some point we can't just shut up to SJW and political correctness bullying.

I guess anyone's take on the game is as good as mine but at least in put my cent to the discussion because I don't want the videogame industry to become what Naughty Dog just did.

You might not agree with the plot, and the all RAW emotions and the revengefulness that fuel the main characters and the ending, but that does not mean it a bad game, it simply means that you don't like games that depict how real life could play out after a cataclysmic event.

But I also saw deep love and real friendship in really bad situations. It makes you question yourself... would you have done differently given the same situation?

My guess why the rating vary so wildly? This game requires a mature view of life that is probably too much to ask of young people today. (I'm 55)

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Good game overall, although there are some critiques that stop it from reaching the level of TLoU1.

    What it does good:
    • Great gameplay, overall a much tighter experience than TLou. Combat feels much more dynamic.

    • Beautiful sound and level design. Levels feel much more open, realistic, and lived in than the first game

    • First half of the game is phenomenal, a 10/10. A very focussed revenge story that has a lot of force behind it with Joel's death. The semi open world exploration with Dina was probably the most fun I had during my playthrough.

    What it does poorly:
    • The switch to Abby halfway through the game causes it to lose a lot of momentum. ND clearly wanted you to sympathise with her, but after the gut blow of watching Joel die, this proves too difficult to pull off. I feel her section could have been trimmed down or rearranged to have more impact on the story. Maybe have us play for a few hours on our way to hunt down Joel, so we begin to bond with her character before she kills him? And later alternate between Ellie and Abbys sections, and have Abby's story tie in more directly with Ellie's? It seems the big struggle with Abby is that by having her kill Joel immediately and then spending 10 hours hunting her as Ellie, the player is too primed to hate her, meaning the comparisons in her character to Joel and Ellie are lost. And although thematically Abby's story ties directly to Ellie's, again, it really doesn't mesh well and ends up killing the momentum the story had. I think seeing the consequences of Ellie's actions more directly on Abby would end up being more effective at having us sympathise with her, and lead to a tighter overall narrative. • More boring characters. TLoU1 had a small, but effective cast of side characters. Each served a clear purpose and was memorable. In TLoU2, the cast of characters is much larger, and the game suffers for it. Abby's friends are indistinct for the most part, and I found myself constantly questioning who these characters were. Jesse's death also struggles to deliver much of a blow, since he comes across as a very uninteresting character. He is the definition of plain, whose only character trait seems to be being Ellie's friend who dies. • The ending. Having Ellie decide to spare Abby leaves a bad taste in the players mouth. We are clearly meant to draw parallels between Ellie and Joel, and Abby and Lev. But our connection to Joel runs to deep, and Abby's growth is too performative to have much of an impact on the player. After watching some interviews with Niel Druckmann the ending has started to grow on me, but after initially finishing it I was left feeling disappointed.

Overall, you should definitely play this game. It analyses the consequences of Joel's decision to lie to Ellie in TLoU1, and is overall an enjoyable (if very, VERY bleak) experience. I just feel ND over-indulged with Abby (having far too much of the story focus on her), and underestimated how easy it would be to get players to sympathise with her. The point of art is to make you feel something, which this game definitely accomplishes. I just wish Ellie could have a little happiness in her life, and didnt leave me feeling so bleak, haha.

I went into this game completely blind. Didn't watch trailers, no spoilers, no reviews. I play the last of us 1 when it came out and haven't touched it since. I suppose that helped my expectations as I had none, I wasn't banking on certain things or characters being the lead part of the game. I was just along for the ride. The craziest, bleakest of rides.
I think the story is a little jarring at times and sometimes frustrating. But I felt it was bold and creative, I suppose empathy and grief are the main emotions here but also life, innocence and acceptance nearer the end. It's a very personal experience, not for the light hearted.
I was genuinely surprised after I completing it and checking online to see other responses. Didn't quite believe "betrayal and disappointment" that people were posting. But to each their own. I enjoyed it and hope others did too.

Well, first of all, I enjoyed playing both as Ellie and Abby, the game does show the reason why Abby killed Joel, Joel did ruin humanity after all and killed her dad. Joel got old so that might be the reason why he trusted the "new" people. In the end, you have a fight against Abby but don't kill her because Abby literally gave up everything to save this little boy called "Lev" and Ellie still has a heart and you can see because it shows Joel while she is drowning Abby and she stops drowning Abby. Both deserved better. After all, it's a good game, it has good graphics for ps4 and the sound is amazing as well, recommend playing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. In its own right, TLoU2 is a good, maybe even very good game: beautiful graphics, stunning lightings, very dark (I love dark!), unforgiving, disturbing, a gritty revenge story, ... The game mechanics which worked fine in the previous ones are the same, with a few welcome new ones.

As a stand-alone game, I would have given it an 8 or even 9. But TLoU2 isn't its own game .., but the sequel of one of the, if not THE, best game ever. And as a sequel, IMO it fails to reach the perfection of its predecessor.

As must have been spoiled already everywhere, Joel dies by the end of the intro. In itself, it was a shock, a sad and dark (did I mention I love dark?) surprise. But that doesn't mean it has to be a bad idea. Just like in GoT or the Walking Dead, killing main & beloved characters is an excellent way to bring the player into the story, and is a very powerful triggering factor for the main storyline. Much more than the death of another "close" character which we would just have discovered (Dina, Jesse, even Tommy). Kudos to the writers for the guts to pull such a move!

But courage alone doesn't always pay off. One hour into the game, we are left with only half of what made Part 1 so good: the evolving relationship between Ellie & Joel. And in the next 20 or so hours of play of Part 2, nothing or no one will fill the void left by Joel's removal from the game. We don't care a second about the new character (Dina, Jesse, Yara, Lev, ...) and certainly not Abby, Joel's killer whom we play for almost half the game. I think the only supporting cast member which the game really makes likable is ... Alice. At least that's the only one who's death (afterward) saddened me.

Never do we reach the emotional heights of Part 1, although we sometimes have a glimpse of it in some flashback scenes about ... how Ellie & Joel's relationship soured over the years between 1 and 2 because of Joel's secret (lying to Ellie about what happened in the Fireflies' hospital). And that made me wonder how THAT story would have made a much better Part 2 than what we got. Joel could have been killed (after all, his whole storyline is one of redemption), although much later into the game, even by Abby as a playable character. At least, had we been playing Abby for some ten hours BEFORE the murder, knowing her background, maybe we could have liked her and been torn between her and Joel in a duel that would leave one dead. I understand that the writers wanted us to contemplate both sides of the story, but literally forcing us to play Abby (whom I wanted to see dead from Joel's murder to the finale scene) AFTER she killed Joel didn't work. At least for me ...

Another issue I had was the game's length. It is too long. OK, most of the levels are superb, but in most cases, the pace of the game feels like "go clear that level and come back to base camp to move on with the story", while in Part 1, the story unfolded both within gameplay phases AND cutscenes. Besides, although beautiful, several levels felt too far-fetched, more at home in Tomb Raider (burning village), Uncharted (skyscraper's walkway), or even Resident Evil (looking at you, hospital basement's boss). Every time a character said "it isn't far", I knew some floor will crumble under my feet and throw me into some dark (I love dark, btw) basement just for the sake of lengthening the journey.
I would have loved shorter levels, but more focus on character development and storyline.

To conclude, I would strongly recommend that game as a much better & darker (really, I love that) version of Uncharted or Tomb Raider, to anyone who hasn't played Part 1.
But I would warn Part 1's veterans that they will surely be HUGELY disappointed by this game as a much less well-written sequel to its near-perfect predecessor.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I don’t understand it. I was so excited for this ever since they announced it. I watched all the trailers multiple times. Preordered it and played it the second it came out. The biggest letdown of my long video game history. I mean, in what universe would you ever sympathise with Abby. I guess if you’ve never played the first game you don’t have the emotional connection to Joel and it may be easier, but TLOU1 is my favourite game of all time, and I bet even if it isn’t for others they still see that game as a top 5 or 10. So naturally, Joel is one of my favourite characters of all time.

So when Joel was crippled, tortured and beaten to death by this woman, I am surely not the only one who wanted this woman to suffer equally as bad. I mean seriously, she kills him because he killed her dad, but her dad’s death was so much quicker and cleaner in comparison, and killing Joel in the way he was is in NO WAY an equivalent to this. In fact it made me want to kill her more. And ND expects us to SYMPATHISE with this psychopath?? She is UNLIKEABLE no matter how many ‘jokes’ she cracks, IRREDEEMABLE for not just what she did but HOW she did it, and her story feels so drawn out. There are some good set pieces in Abby’s segments, but I had no motivation to keep her alive and I hate this character, and so all these events lost any impact: I felt nothing. I just wanted it to be over. I got especially angry at the bit where you literally have to go against Ellie and beat the hell out of her. Who would want to do that, SERIOUSLY. Who. I would rather watch two cats fight to the death than hurt such a beloved character of the franchise. I hated every second of it. And the ending is so stupid I don’t even want to talk about it. I’ll just say this - I stood up from my chair, screamed at the tv and I couldn’t get it out my head - this wishy-washy ending would never happen, and it renders the entire game pointless. To create such a horrible character and to not see them meet the justice they deserve beats the point of the whole ‘Ellie gets revenge’ thing and all the death and destruction that happens throughout is rendered pointless. Only reason I don’t give it a 0 is because the gameplay mechanics, graphics and soundtrack are nice, and the superhero cards are pretty cool, but apart from those things the story is such a massive letdown and leaves this franchise on such a bitter and disappointing note.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Found this game just as ground breaking and captivating as the first. I rate it a solid 90% or higher and probably would have opted for giving it a 9 out of 10 but was so annoyed with all the ridiculous review bombing I’m giving the game the fair 10 it deserves. What Naughty Dog have achieved in relation to creating a sequel to one of the very best video games ever created has to be applauded. Sequels usually never live up to their predecessor and following the brilliance of the first was never going to be easy. But for me it delivered exactly the same captivating entertainment that made the first game something I had never experienced or expected within a video game. The Last of us Part 2 is a horror game; it is violent, shocking, unsettling and at times so claustrophobic I find myself scrambling frantically within gameplay to move ahead only so I can breathe again. But this is the type of experience that every horror should be able to deliver, and I feel it delivers it on an epic scale.

Regarding gameplay I found it very similar to the first, characters navigate through a maze like linear world solving puzzles and kicking ass to unfold a cinematic story. The environments are absolutely gobsmacking and whilst there are strong periods immersed in beautiful environments and landscapes, you find yourself mostly navigating through a world far more grim and unsettling then the first. And this works, it totally does to deliver a truly horror filled experience. I found at times some of the subplots or searching of abandoned buildings for supplies felt a little long distracting from the main narrative. However there was no way I would not want to play the subplots or not search extensively for supplies to craft weapon upgrades and is a good reminder that we are playing a video game and not watching a film.

I found without the violent death of Joel within the first few hours playing, the game may have never gripped me as tight as it did and have me wanting to progress relentlessly like I did. And I think had they created a sequel where neither Ellie or Joel died they would find themselves tiptoeing in similar ground. Well done Naughty Dog, get over it review bombers.

Halfway through the decision to cease gameplay of Ellie and control Abby Joel’s killer, at first shocked the crap out of me. I felt a moment of reluctance to continue, however I felt myself soon in a position where I did not want to let Abby go. Amazing turn of events to experience within a video game and I think one that helps build such a memorising experience.

For a game that follows such events as it does within the story I couldn’t think of a better ending, it was powerful and felt every way satisfying to close out the 30 hours or so of absorbing gameplay I had just immersed myself within.

Just like the first this game exceeds the realm of traditional gameplay and delivers new heights of story telly much more aligned with cinematic experience and that’s why I feel it lives up to the first.

If you enjoyed everything that was shocking and innovative about the first whilst appreciating this is a sequel trying to deliver the same experience, I don’t believe you can be disappointed. Get it regardless!!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The writers don't show nor tell the emotional development of the characters and instead place an impossible burden on the player to fill the gaps to make the story work.

The pacing is atrocious. Right at what the player is lead to believe is the climax, instead of paying off, the game takes a break and forces you to go through the story again from a different character's perspective for 10 hours, before finally it finally resumes telling the story.

TLOU2 touches the themes of grief, forgiveness, revenge and violence, but ultimately goes nowhere and/or fumbles the messaging and ends up contradicting itself.

The character arcs are very weak. Characters seem passive for most of the game, with things happening to them instead of them making choices. When they do make choices, how they change or why they made that choice isn't really expanded upon, leaving it to the imagination of the player.

All in all, a story where stuff happens but nothing really changes.

I’d classify this as SPOILER LIGHT - as I actually want to encourage people to give the game a chance - it doesn’t actually say what happens, but it references certain things !! Summary: Story is good but not as good TLOU1, and has a couple of underwhelming and frustrating narrative choices - the ending was almost excellent, but ultimately bowed to making a statement about the themes of the game. I went into this game with awareness of the negative attention it was receiving, but managed to stay spoiler free - perhaps this helped lower my expectations which were sky high after playing the original which was potentially my favourite game of all time.

The graphics, gameplay, sound design and environments are fantastic as to be expected, so I won’t really cover them, as story and character development are the contentious points.

I actually really liked a number of the new side characters, primarily Jesse, Dina, Lev, Yara and Owen - with Tommy also a great, but familiar face. Spoilers from here onwards

    Characters:

Jesse at first seemed a bit bland, almost as if he was there to fill space, but he started to really grow on me, as someone who truly cared about his friends.

Dina had a lot of personality in my eyes - she was confident despite hardships in her past (such as killing someone when she was 10 to protect her mother) amongst other things, funny, smart, and caring - though unfortunately she never really seemed to make any decisions that didn’t revolve around her very recent love for Ellie.

Owen was actually the one Wolf that I felt any empathy towards - he very much did seem to have a personality of his own, and beyond that, he always seemed to want the “right” choice - and was fiercely loyal to those around him. He may have been a part of what happened at the start of the game, but certainly worth noting he was willing to fight his own friends to prevent them from taking an extra step.

Yara and Lev - these two were pretty much what kept the Non-Ellie story rolling for me. During day 1 of the non-Ellie sections I was very disinterested and wanted to get back to going after what my primary goal in this game was. But I actually became intensely interested in the story of Yara and Lev - they had gone through pain, and judgement, but had not turned hateful as those around them had done. Beyond this though, they also followed one of the key themes of the game that what you do does affect the others around you, whether it was the “right” choice or not.

    Story:

It’s not as good of the first one - not even close. But I don’t think it is as bad as I was lead to believe.

The catalyst event for the story is difficult to take - but makes a lot of sense in the context of past events - and tied into the theme of both revenge, and that your actions have consequences for both those around you, and for yourself.

The throwback sequences with Ellie and Joel were masterfully done, and a real throwback to the first game. I actually think they may be the sequences that I enjoyed most - which I think is natural because the Ellie/Joel dynamic is unmatched by anything in this game. They also had some quite difficult emotional moments, as well as touching and heartwarming ones.

One in particular touches on Ellie’s determination to find out what happened at the hospital. The results of this were a shocking plot point, but one I really felt impacted by, and which made everything that had happened so far in the game more difficult emotionally for Ellie. On the section where you are not controlling Ellie - what I will say is all that made this section at all playable for me was one particular flashback, the Yara and Lev subplot, and Owen. Otherwise I wanted to get back to what drove my for the rest of the game - the same revenge Ellie was after.

The ending/aftermath - I’m torn - there was a lot to like about the ending, but it’s almost spoiled by one particular non-action in my eyes. I think I would have hated it if it weren’t for a cutscene at the very end, which felt very much like the first games, but with the added poignancy of knowing that the chance of what was discussed in it was taken from them.

I enjoyed playing this game for the first few hours. Graphics were amazing, and the story line seemed promising. That was until Neil Druckmann killed Joel. Neil Druckmann makes users feel hatred anger against the new character, Abby, by excluding Joel from the very beginning of the game. Then, he shows the backstory of Abby, which no one wanted to know, to justify her actions. I already felt disgusted and irritated by this time. But that wasn't all. The game forces THE USER TO CONTROL ABBY AND ATTACK ELLIE. FOR FXXK SAKE. I didn't want to play anymore. That was when i burnt the CD in my backyard out of disgust and disappointment.

Worst story anyone would have come up with. I can't believe this is what ND did with the last of us 1 legacy

Absolutely terrible. I was a hardcore Last of Us fan and this game totally wasted my time. Full of plot holes and just a grind to play in the last hours. No payoff for the time you invest either. Game basically amounts to nothing. It feels more like a tech demo with cutscenes and only journalist mode (invisible while prone) makes it bearable to slog through the second half of the game.Absolutely terrible. This game had me on the edge of my seat waiting for scenes to play even though that the story is weaker than the first. I just love this game so much.

Throughout this work of technical brilliance, I continued to feel the story and themes were lost through illogical motivation and lack of focus. Once the ending beat hit, however, all of the threads tied together and dropped an emotional boulder on me. Trust in The Last of Us II until its conclusion. The reward awaits, and the payoff is like none other. Masterpiece.

Si quieren acción sin trama vayan a ver porno o a jugar Call Of Duty. Por último: no han entendido qué pasa con el juego, soliciten a nauhthy dog que les mande el disco del 1 en la carátula del 2, eso era lo que ustedes esperaban. Expand

Definitely not worth it. It just rides on the first game’s success. The story makes you rethink why are wasting your time on this. Characters lack the personality that makes the first game great. Premature ratings are so misleading. Do a complete play through before bashing the game. There are so many incredible details in this masterpiece worth mentioning! It's got insane graphics, gameplay, music and story content.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Truly a masterpiece. The story is compelling just as much as the first one if not more só and the gameplay is much more fluid and improved, the tension and danger remains strong in this one and I had my heart in my throat during the whole experiaence. The controversial choices the game does, it does them right. Inserting the two points of view makes the player understand that all humans are desperste and would go to extreme limits for their loved ones.
For all of you saying that Joel deserved better remember that the game isn't trying to satisfy you. It is showing a world without mercy where anyone can die in a blink of and eye.
10/10 one of the Best games I played in my life!

Hey there, are you watching the reviews which came in just few hours of the release of this game although the game is of 25+hrs ? Everyone read those
But here it is, I've completed this game and still waited for few days to write this review because it took time to process all the story.
Not gonna go into the spoilers but you probably know everything. I would say that this story was meant

I would say that this story was meant to be in this manner During start I was angry
    Halfway through i was sad
And then i was confused And then i was sad again By the end we realise that this was obvious The cycle of revenge, redemption and hatered. I was literally sad that this game ended IT IS A MUST PLAY.
DON'T QUIT IN FIRST 2 HRS

It's a great game. You must play it for yourself. You can't really understand it unless you do. It's deeper and more rich than if you stop half way through or don't finish. You have to see it through to get the whole picture.

The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.

If you loved the original for its great characters and well-paced story – stay away from this game. However, if you’re aching to sink into the depths of depression, or just want to cut some throats and burn some zombies – Part II will deliver. [Issue#247, p.72]
