    I think that this game is technically perfect, the story has so forced elements to cause impact in the player that makes a empty experience, do not buy this if you have affection with the first game.

    Jogo Muito bom, deu um 9 pois eu acho que a relação do Joel com a Ellie poderia ser melhor trabalhado e Sua morte também deveria ser melhor elaborada e não ter acontecido muito cedo.

    There is no information on Abby. Abby kill Joel and we need to control Abby at all. Crazy.
    In addition, why against this game is again lgbt etc. I do not understand. I cannot see these characters are happy at all.

    If they wanted to destroy the characters from the first game and give us a story devoid of anything that makes you feel good; then they should have made a different game. Don't call it the last of us 2, because it's the worst sequel I've ever played.

    It makes you feel dead! Don't play this game if you want to enjoy a story.

    It is a technically speaking game, the gameplay is good, it has wonderful graphics, some beautiful scenes, beautiful music, the problem with the game is the story. It had a very strange course, characters dying for free, the joel's death was very meaningless, the joel from the first game would never die like that, it is a game but with a very controversial story.

    I came here to rate this game as it should be rated, it’s not a 3 or 4 out of 10, it’s an easy 10/10 game and completely does justice to the first game.

    Lets start off with the positive: the graphics looks good, The environment is beautiful to look at, the gameplay is pretty average with new step-up to its previous game, and the voice acting is great and the music is great. Now knowing The Last of Us, the core of the game is story and characters and this game doesn't deliver that.     The game is gorgeous. A masterpiece. I played it through and I never experienced a game that is so authentic and emotionally bonding. Great Grafiks, great story. Simply wow.

    In short, the first half is pretty good, probably an 8/10 by itself. Only real qualm is that characters make a lot of dumb, unbelievable decisions. I truly struggled to finish the second half, it was just terrible and I hate it so much.

    I was fan of first game and consider myself a Naughty Dog fan boy so I was going to love it no matter what. The game itself for me is just an extension of the first. Felt to be just extra levels to play through. The story is very enjoyable but I would have preferred to choose the the path of the story rather than being led to the final outcome just as an observer.

    All I can say is you pathetic entitled brats scoring this game so lowly need to get a life. Pathetic. If you liked the first last of us then there is no way you can dislike this one. It builds on everything the first got right, and ties the story up perfectly.

    Trust the professional reviews, not these idiots.

Игра качественно продолжает сюжет первой части, и если что не понравилось то это скорее дело вкуса нежели сценарные проколы. В игре великолепная графика,качественное звуковое сопровождение, крутая атмосфера запоминающиеся персонажи и т.д. и т.п, в основном одни плюсы. Из минусов лично для себя выделю затянутость сюжета играя за Эбби, видеть Элли хотелось бы больше. Игра подарила кучу эмоций - ностальгию, улыбку качественно перетекающую в слезу смешанных чувств, злость(бомбило иногда, особенно когда заставили за Эбби против Элли сражаться) чувство тревоги в некоторых моментах и легкое чувство смятения и неопределенности в финале. В общем,не верьте 99% негативных оценок,это оценки людей которые скорее всего не игравший в эту игру и знающих о ней только то что Элли лесбиянка.Кстати о пропаганде ЛГБТ, в игре действительно присутствуют нотки толерантности(не толерастии) но на сюжет не влияют да воспринимаются адекватно.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I am a little late at this point but I want to air my view since I cannot contain my frustration and disappointment at this point.
    I just got done with this game and I am left with a complete and utter feeling of disgust and a hole being shot in my gut.

    Before I descend into my rant, I just want to commend what went right: The Graphics, The Game Mechanics and the Voice Acting.

    Now...

    The story telling and writing is in shambles. Most of the supporting characters are shallow and cringe which makes these inter-personal relationships seem superficial in that they only serve to make the cogs of the story work just for convenience sake.

    This game tries so hard to be a set apart from the first, that it completely breaks itself.

    If TLOU2 was a completely stand alone game with no ties to the prequel it still falls flat in that it betrays the player by making Abby the antagonist become utterly and completely hated within the first 2 hours of game play.

    So everyone is now on board with Ellie's revenge drive, great!
    Lines are drawn:
    Ellie = Good and
    Abby = Bad

    You play your way through and are fed this revenge plot and battle your way through various traumatic events and come to a climax.
    But instead of exacting your well deserves revenge you are then FORCED to play Ellie's antagonist and empathise with your enemy, which completely railroads you into developing a hate/but I have to play through this relationship with Abby.

    You are betrayed for placing all your empathy and feelings with Ellie when you play as Abby.

    At this point no sane and sound of mind person would feel comfortable with this change up.

    Moving on...

    You start to develop feelings through your game play with Abby for her situation and start to understand why she did what she did.

    ***Great I get you Abby! Let me play as Ellie now***

    Unfortunately, the worst part of the betrayal is that you are FORCED again to fight Ellie, which is uncomfortable and you don't really want to do it. Which sane person would feel comfortable and want to actually have a hand in destruction of the protagonist and be okay with it?

    Going forward...

    The ending... I don't get the thought process in the decisions made, they are uncharacteristic and are completely unsupported.

    Why did Ellie let Abby go when she flashed back to Joel?
    - Did she think Joel wouldn't want her to do it?
    - She literally gave up her family to keep the promise to Tommy and to ease her own mind (part of the explanation she gave Dina), so why stop?
    - She had nothing left to lose except to get her long awaited revenge.
    - It certainly couldn't be that she didn't want to take a life because she has a laundry list of people she's already take out in her path for revenge.

    It makes no sense in Ellie's perspective, the decision is uncharacteristic.

    But if you think about it this way:
    ** The creator now has 2 loved characters
    ** You as the player, as much as you don't want to admit it, have mixed feelings for both characters in the end and you might second guess yourself when you try to choose between them.
    ** It isn't like Ellie knows what Abby has been through..... BUT you as the player do know! Which, however you phrase it, places you in a position where you start second guessing who you're going to root for.
    ** So the decision was made for you by the creator, a shallow flashback was the reason to stop Ellie ending Abby.
    ** So it's not your decision ** They creator spared both his characters ** You are then left with no resolution and feeling frustrated ** You were railroaded and none of the things you did in the game actually mattered ** Lead through an emotionally charged story with no resolution But the game sure is pretty though.    … Expand

If you're bombing the game because you're angry and haven't finished the game, I implore you to continue and see the storyline out. It forces you to see a perspective that is painful, awful, and realistic. It shows comparisons between who we want to love and who we want to hate.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. From trailers we were promised Joel and Ellie. While I understand that both Neil Druckmann and Anita wanted for the game to have a strong feminist agenda, killing the John Wick character of your game AT THE START ain't it, Chief.

    Abby would've been likeable if they build up her badass motif then have her kill Joel at the end. That way, the players wouldn't feel like dropping the game from the first two hours. Besides, why, why one earth did our 50 yrld man-- probably in his 60s now, died when he was a fantastic survivor of the first game. You can't just say "oh he mellowed out", ask veterans, they still have their instincts. I love the gameplay. I like the graphics. Kuddos to them. I appreciate how they ttied to include more of the minority. I just wish they presented the story in a more jawdropping way. I actually would love the stoey and the theme of forgiveness if it was presented better, just a few tweaks would've made the game a masterpiece Anyways, still love Ellie. I wish they gave Joel a proper death.    … Expand

    Levando em conta que o game evoluiu tudo que já era bom do 1° jogo, os elementos que levaram a franquia a ser um dos jogos mais icônicos da geração do PS3 consagram demais o fim da geração do PS4, jogo obrigatório se vc possuir esse console em algum momento!!!

The story is a lot longer than the first game (32 hours for me to complete) but it needs to be as there are a multitude of complex characters, all with their own story to tell and by the end of the game you really feel for each of them in true Naughty Dog fashion. The gameplay and sound/music continue where they left from the first game and really help set the tone for an incredibly dark, gritty and an emotionally exhausting experience.
    This game makes you question everything that you thought you already knew. One of the definitive games of the generation and probably of all time.    … Expand

    Let's start chronological with the Prologue. I think the Prologue is the weakest point in the games story. A prologue should introduce the player to the characters and story, sadly this prologue fails to do so. All the new characters stay rather bland, even Dina, besides you spend around an hour with her. Also Abby seems rather bland, while she is not when you play her later, she only hates Joel. Why? Who knows.

    So: Joel dies by Abbys Hand. Many people complained that Joel says his name which is out of character with the first game. Yes, this looks like it at first glance, again the prologue fails to explain backgrounds, you only the get puzzle pieces late in the story, like a conflict with Ellie and probable knowledge that a group hunts the both down. I think Joel sacrificed himself to save Ellie, thinking if they got him, they won't chase after Ellie. The last good deed he could do, to make her forgive.

    However after the prologue the story gets stronger and stronger. The writing is excellent! You play 3 days as Ellie with Dina and Jesse on your side, searching for Abbys group and then the past 3 days as Abby from her perspective.

    You learn all the characters emotions and reasons, though you probably never really agree with their actions. You understand them, but you might not agree with them. This is where the story gets so strong as it organically avoids a black and white thinking. There are no heroes and no bad guys, only humans driven by emotions like hate, revenge, love, sadness etc.

    You see both "sides" and you learn to like all the characters. You not agree with their actions sometimes, but you understand... It's really a roller coaster of emotions. Brilliant writing, can't explain it otherwise!

    The Epilogue and ending also show how much hate and revenge can destroy you and your relationships. The relationship Ellie built with Dina is destroyed over the fact Ellie can't let loose and have to hunt after Abby again, in the end leaving her alive, like she did in Seattle. Coming home, Dina gone, Ellie lost 2 fingers can't really play guitar anymore, the guitar Joel gifted to her.

    Really excellent writing! Prologue a bit weak, some later cutscenes should appear here, but keep going and you get rewarded with an amazing story!

    Also if you think there is some agenda here, you didn't understood the story one bit. The game more shows of violence is causing even more violence and how it and revenge and hate can destroy people.

    Also Abby is not said nor mentioned to be LGTB. Not sure where this got from, but only because she is muscular, means she is LGTB? I think not.

    Gameplay:

    Definitely a huge improvement to the first game. They took the first games gameplay and expanded it. You have more upgrades, more weapons and more possibilities to deal with enemies. Stealth and Combat are better to do, the encounter areas are bigger allowing for more ways and possibilities. Also you can now climb, swim and dive.

    While the game at it's core is still a pretty linear game, there is a hub area at the start and in general the levels are bigger as ever before. Encounters go very fluent into each other, while you walk around, explore and try to find the right way to go. Also you should explore to not only get collectibles, but also training manuals, useful items, upgrades and new weapons.

    A little downside is, that there are not much differences between Ellie and Abby. They have different weapons, but with exception of 2-3 weapons, they feel the same. Even the upgrades are more or less the same, just in different orders and skill trees. Movement is the same as well.

    Nonetheless so far the best Gameplay in a Naughty Dog game and definitely on par with other excellent AAA titles.

    Graphics:

    Do i really have to say something here? Amazing Textures, Models, Levels and Animations. Really an eye to detail. It looks gorgeous! Watch a trailer, what you see there, is in the game 1:1.

    Sound / Music:

    Perfect as well. Amazing sound design and amazing music tracks, still have a few in my head. Better as the first game as well, the composer really did an amazing job and surpassed his work of the first game!

    In the end:

    While the Prologue is the weakest point, The Last of Us Part 2 is an amazing game. The Story is really amazing, no "agenda" to be found, as said, if you see such a thing you didn't understood the story or outright didn't played the game.

    Besides that Gameplay, Graphics and Sound / Music are on amazing levels and the Game is just awesome! Play it!

    I give it a 9 / 10. Despite the weak prologue, the game is a masterpiece.    … Expand

    One hell of a rollercoaster. I do see why many people are dismayed by this game as there are some decisions that many will disagree with. However, for me, everything clicks by the end.

    I, like many people, absolutely loved the first game. I avoided all spoilers for this game to be able to really experience the story the way you're supposed to. I must say I thoroughly enjoyed this game and think it is a worthy sequel. It is incredibly unique and creative. All characters are flawed and that makes for a great and engaging story. Don't judge people too quickly as you don'tI, like many people, absolutely loved the first game. I avoided all spoilers for this game to be able to really experience the story the way you're supposed to. I must say I thoroughly enjoyed this game and think it is a worthy sequel. It is incredibly unique and creative. All characters are flawed and that makes for a great and engaging story. Don't judge people too quickly as you don't always know what's behind their actions. It's not always clear who the villains are. It is a very long game compared to the first one, took me about 30 hours, though I am very thorough with exploring. The game is absolutely gorgeous and the gameplay is fantastic. The amount of detail in this game is mind blowing. Absolutely a must play if you've played the first game.… Expand

But there are too much of this trash in this game - transgender in this game was completely unnecessary. There were too much of this **** already - and when another LGBT character appeared - I got tired of this. But I detached from this thoughts and finished the game. And you know what, this game is good. I mean: this game has problems besides LGBT agenda.
    And all main probrems is located in the Abby's storyline: her gameplay is nothing but Joel's from the original game with a few small changes, which makes it boring half of the time. I mean - I played original TLoU from the beginning to the end 5 times(including the highest possible difficulty) and looking at the same gameplay after 3 year from my last TLoU playthrough - is kinda disappointing The same about the Abby's storyline - sometimes it's boring, but I have to admit - it has a good and memorable moments.

    Сюжет и лгбт повестка вызывает вопросы. К примеру тема гендерного определения одного из персонаже здесь вплетена только как повестка и выглядит неуместно. Ко всему остальному придраться сложно, все обосновано сюжетом и характером персонажей.
    Но что касается сюжета в целом. Повторюсь, фанаты первой части здесь могут разочароваться, но если вы посмотрите на историю глубже, абстрагируетесь от ваших собственных представлений развития сюжета первой части, то поймете что вторая часть намного глубже. Игра заставляет смотреть на историю одновременно с двух точек зрения, это рискованый шаг. Вы можете либо не принять одну из них, либо в целом не понять и не проникнуться к обеим сторонам. Но если вы дадите шанс игре, вгляните на историю, персонажей, их мотивации не через призму субьективизма, то сюжет второй части подарит вам эмоции намного сильнее первой .

    It's a good game, it doesn't feel as impactful as the first game, but it's still great.

    - Graphics -
    The graphics are, as expected really good, among the very best I've seen in any game, what really stands out though is the animation, everything looks natural and lifelike, I felt completely immersed as I was playing, as there was very few things to remind you that you were playing a game.

    - Story -
    The story is probably where I'm a little split, it's a perfectly good story told competently, and all the complaints about bad writing followed up with no examples, ring incredibly dishonest to me.

    There were irks though, like Abby's father, he didn't need to be Mr. perfect, for me to sympathize with Abby, so while I understand the need to introduce him, it was laid on a little thick imo. I actually liked the doctor you only hear from in the first game, that let out the monkeys and gets bit as a result, well meaning but probably not the smartest.
    There were other minor stuff, but overall, it made good sense and all the characters seemed real and relatable.
    The overall story was fine, it never did have the same gut-punch effect of the first game, but there are some really nice details, like the book on Joels counter, that'll only make sense when you learn what Joel did for Ellie, for her birthday.

    - Gameplay -
    Despite it technically just being a third person shooter, it played nicely, and feels like it's own game. I really liked the AI, they're not all knowing, but they'll still flank you or sneak up on you given the chance, and you will actually notice differences in the AI wether they are Seraphites, or WLF, a really nice touch imo.
    It keeps the gameplay from the first game, in the sense that aiming isn't the easiest, your character will sway a lot, at least early on before you get upgrades, and ammo is scarce, but you somehow never completely run out, no different from the previous.

    - Sound/Music -
    Just great stuff, sounds are as good as you'd expect at this point. Music, it's really good, but imo not the kind you go listen to after playing the game, it's very subtle, and I find myself recognizing it if it plays somewhere.

    I'm glad they didn't pander to people who liked Joel and Ellie, I mean we all liked them as characters, but fortunately that first game is still available, and still plays nicely if that's all you want. If you want a new story with incredible detail, and good characters, I'd recommend this game.    … Expand

While the game's gameplay is fairly similar to part 1, the fact of the matter is that they've improved the enemy AI tenfold, added quite a few mechanics to the game as well as a new and interesting way to explore the environments around you.

    Honestly, people hate on the game because they expected another Joel and Ellie story ala Uncharted but instead got **** by the creators of the game and instead went with a multi-perspective take on life in this world and how pointless a revenge quest is in the first place! If you can't grasp the greatness of the game over shortsighted issues, then you aren't looking at the bigger picture at all! I regret wasting my money on this game from a company that has abused copyright law and advertising to lie and cheat consumers into thinking they are experiencing a continuation of the first (and incredible) Last of Us entry.

    My biggest beef with the game is it's infuriating linearity and uses too many cut scenes. In new game plus I skipped the majority of the cutscenes and obviously it is normally slightly faster as you know what is coming. IT IS 6 hrs and 30 mins SHORTER..The total playing time for both play throughs is less than 48 hours. AND I AM A SLOW PLAYER.

    The linearity of the game seriously gets frustrating. I have played many of the large open world games of recent years and to come back to something this restrictive was a huge disappointment.
    They have had 7 years to come up with something better than this. There is no getting lost in this game as it won’t let you go off the path it forces you to take.

    The story and characters all have issues Some of them quite serious and annoying. They get more noticeable in a second play through. . No spoilers. Play the game and decide for yourself.

    They have even used recycled scenarios from the first game. This is just plain lazy and an insult to the paying gaming community that has to suffer it.

    All in all I was super disappointed in this game. I was so looking forward to it and preordered it months ago. I wish I hadn't. I would still have played the game to see what it was like, but would have waited until it was a lot better value for the money.

    i did enjoy playing parts of the game, but these in no way make up for the lazy game design and bad character narrative.

But those aren't the reasons why you buy The Last of Us games. The story is horrible. The death of Joel was handled so poorly. It was needlessly vicious and brutal and this is from someone who plays Doom. Not long ago Bungie killed off Cayde-6, a very beloved character, but they did it well, with respect to the fans and the character. What Naughty Dog did with Joel and the pointless revenge story after, is just bad. Don't waste your money. Preorder the new Paper Mario game or the upcoming Destiny 2 Beyond Light.… Expand

    This game is really a must play. If you played the first one and liked it, and if you aren't a fanboy who made up your mind when the leaks came out, you'll surely like this one too and hopefully appreciate the work they've done and the message they transmit to the player.

The gameplay always keeps you on your feet and ready for more, each encounter you get with the characters is never a dull moment because they can play out in so many different ways and the graphics are absolutely stunning. Although the story isn't liked by many because they killed off joel in the very beginning and then make you play as his killer you start to feel empathy and passion for abby throughout the story especially when she meets lev and yara. That is when she really starts to change, although I can't say the same thing for ellie it is very emotional having to see her go for this quest for revenge and face off against abby after all that you have been through with both characters. The thing I really didnt like though was the ending. Although I'm glad that abby survived I feel like all the things that ellie has done and been through was for nothing. She killed all those people and in the end she cant even kill abby. But other than that this game was an emotional rollercoaster and I never had a dull momment with it.… Expand

    A game with disgusting gameplay that is painful to play. BUT as a movie is not so bad. If the game removes all the gameplay (which is unclear why it is needed there), then it will become better. I believe that games should be judged by gameplay and not by plot. And if you judge so, the Last of us 2 is 0-3 out of 10, if the plot is 7-8 out of 10.

    But that’s not why you play this game is it? This game is heavely story based and is some what more of a movie. And the story sucks as everyone know. Naughty dog just want a pat on the back for their LGBQT friendly game. GOOD JOB

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. You know what? I created an account here just for to write an review on this game. And I want to do it in a smart way with examples and explanations, but I so overwhelmed with emotional and disappointment, I just can't.

    I loved the first one. I love the story, I love Joel and Ellie and have the huge attachment for them. And what did I get in part two?

    A nightmare.

    I was forced to watch a Joel's death and then I was forced to play as the person who killed him. The Naughty Dog is really think that player could grown an attachment for Abby just because she had a dog, a group of some sh***ty friends and saved two random children that came out of nowhere?

    NO. That's not enough.

    All time playing as Ebby I was like "oh okay I don't care about you nor your back story come on let me play as Ellie again". I wanted a f****ng revenge or a choice at least - to kill or to spare Abby, but got some pacifistic s***t in the end.

    We have seen how Joel was beaten to death, we have seen Ellie tearing apart being forced watched it... and after all this, after what Ellie was been through to get to Abby, she is letting Abby go? She lost her FAMILY, LOVE OF HER LIFE, friends for this and she is LET ABBY GO? This is some sh***t. It's ridiculous. I'm telling you. It's irrational decision for someone like Ellie. It doesn't fit her personality at all.

    And let's talk about Srcars for a second. Like... what do we know about them besides it's some kind of cult fighting with The WLF? Hmmm... nothing? These two children - Lev and Yara. Who are they? The literally came out of nowhere. Like LITERALLY. Why Lev cut his own hair? What rule doesn't allow it? What other rules is there at all? Why Lev decided to go to his mom? For what was all this Scar's children story?

    Oh, I tell you. To show Abby bright side, like, "look she is doing all this to save life of this poor girl and going to Island to rescue Lev risking her own life, oh, she IS so kind LOVE HER NOW, feel sorry for HER! Yeah, she killed Joel, but she HAD HER REASONS, LOOK - HER FATHER IS SO SWEET HE LIKES ANIMALS, oh no, bad Joel killed him (and a bunch of the other guys to protect Ellie at first place)!"

    Abby’s dad was an angel fighting for the future of mankind, yeah, right. So what would happen if Ellie had a real parents traveling with her to the Fireflies, thinking that their child can help making a vaccine, and then finding out this people is about to kill her. What would they do? Say "okay" and go?

    The whole Abby story is weak and has a lot of plot's hole. Yeah, maybe Naughty Dog was trying to draw a parallel between Ellie and Joel and Abby and Lev/Yara, I get it. But it doesn't work at all. Abby is a not mentally stable. She is not a "villain to hero", she is a dummy. We see Abby like a ruthless killer, we see how she obsessed with revenge - and when she get what she want she all the sudden became a loving MOTHER?

    Oh, come on! It's such... Gosh, I wish I could swearing.

    Ellie clearly has a PTSD, she can't sleep, she has a hallucination. She is affected by all this happened to her, by what she had done. We see how she changes. This hurts.

    But Abby stay the same. I totally get Abby’s motivation and her pain about the lost, but I just don’t care. I don’t feel anything for her at all.

    Ellie deserves better.
    Joel deserves better.

    Abby is not deserving anything - nor a forgiving or a lot of screentime.

    I AM DISAPPOINTED.

    7/10 for graphics - but I want a good story, not a cool texture of grass.

    Se o principal de um jogo fosse os gráficos esse seria "10"!!! Gráficos perfeitos, um dos melhores se não o melhor da geração. Mas uma história muito mais muito fraca, uma das piores sequências já feitas na história dos videogames, principalmente se tratando de The last of us...

    While there is a lot of effort, this game is mediocre at best. The ending is very insulting (you spend 30 hours just to be unsatisfied. I haven't played the game, but I've heard plenty of bad things about the game, and I agree that the game is not very good.

But abby, i hate her, shes a horrible person, then they did Joel dirty, i loved Joel and he always reminded me of my father so to do one of my favourite characters like that and many of others fav, was just not right, why naughty dog? Should of just made a great second game about Ellie and Joel and or even dina, but they didn’t do the game right and then they drag it out so they can make a third game and then get paid more money, also why did they make a sex scene with abby, that really disturbed me, it was so disgusting … Expand

    I'm enjoying this so much. Haven't really played a game of this quality since God of War 4.
    Can't wait to finish it and play it again on the ps5.

    First off, comparing this to the first one, isn’t fair, the first one was a master piece. The story and gameplay elements make it a must play. But this, graphically, and game play wise is breath taking. But story wise, it’s strange. I’m not gonna say anything because of spoilers. But I reckon give it a shot

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
