    the same simple gameplay from 7 years just shoot and move on.
    the pacing is **** up.
    the ending doesn't matter and you won't care anymore about anything or anyone.

    The Last of Us Part 2 is a special game. It sets the bar high for storytelling in video games, and storytelling in general, while making you consider and question the ways we interact with and experience gameplay. Can’t wait for the HBO adaptation so those who don’t play video games can experience this adaptation.

    With very few pacing problems, this game exceeds my personal expectations. The first one was but a mere taste of what storytelling can achieve, with the second part, the narrative and storytelling is by far an evolution of what storytelling is achieved by AAA games as of today.

    Loved the game. One of the most memorable gaming experiences. It's a shame that a lot of people leaving negative reviews decided to hate the game without even giving it a chance.

    Originally, like most, I finished the game with a bit of a bad taste in my mouth, but i played a 2nd time with an open mind and was actually amazed with how brilliant the story actually is.     We doesn't have to speak about graphics and sound design. It's awesome. We have to speak about the Story. I can't understand why this game with this awesome heartbreaking and breathtaking story gets hate. In every movie oder series this story would be loved so much, so why not here?

    I am very sorry that not Mature minds began to massively underestimate the rating of the game. I Express my absolute gratitude to the entire team. Incredible story arcs, strong experiments with the stories of heroes. The game impresses with its atmosphere and gameplay.

    Justo acabo de terminar una de las historias mejor contadas que me ha tocado ver en mi vida, lo que logran los autores con la narrativa y el ambiente inmersivo es alucinante, sin duda para mi el mejor juego de la generación y ha valido cada año la espera. THIS GAME IS A MASTERPIECE, I mean i don’t know what to say really, the game is as close to perfect in my eyes, the story arc and just character development is A1, mainly because at the start of the game i wanted to see Abby get killed just as much as the next guy, but i never would of thought but by the end i felt sorry for her, she lost her dad to Joel, that is enough reason to go after him, let alone him being the reason the vaccine will never be created. She lost all of her friends, she lost everything, except for Lev. Surely thats worse than death. I also think the end of Ellie’s story was heartbreaking but perfect, there’s still hope for her imo, she learned that at times you gotta learn to not let your emotions get the best of you, to me and the end she’s going back to Jackson to possibly fix her relationship with Tommy, Dina etc. but thats me thinking positively, we’ll see if they do a part III. Also the gameplay is **** great, that **** is brutal and i love it, graphics are obviously incredible, cant wait for multiplayer, whenever that comes out. Overall its literally a perfect sequel, not quite as good at the original, but its so damn close.… Expand

    Truly happy to see eventually somebody’s brave enough to tell a story like this. The game’s an absolute perfection in any aspect of its creation & the narrative which has become very divisive now, is challenging as it was intended to be. Loved it!

I finished it yesterday so thought i'd check out reviews on YouTube and Reddit etc and was genuinely surprised at the hate thrown at this game. I'm just a bloke from West Yorkshire so what do i know, but I loved it. TheI managed to avoid all spoilers and reviews but was aware of some bad reviews for this game. I'm just a bloke from West Yorkshire so what do i know, but I loved it. The atmosphere created by the music and environment was tense, scary and beautiful. I was moved and hurt by the story. I empathised with most of the character, feared Ellie, was gut wrenched many times even though I knew I the reason for the heart ache were actions I had carried out hours before. Yes it is a bit long in parts, there were times that i could only play for about an hour before taking a break, sometimes this was due to the stress, other times it was because I wanted to savor it.

    As a piece of media there is no way this is a 0-5 game. If you play games to get lost in a world, forget about your job, or to waste some time then you cannot go wrong with it. Thoroughly enjoyable and I can honestly say I feel a bit empty now I am no longer playing it.    … Expand

    Very disappointed on the narrative side..visually looks not much different from the first and mechanics are also somewhat similar..Game play wise it's definitely a 7 didn't notice a single glitch or bug...but narrative wise being a story driven game it's a 2..

Well i have been playing video games over 25 years including TLOU part 1, i was really looking forward to play this sequel and i was playing it but there was so much violence against animals, a horse and a dog during cutscenes, when the enemies began using dogs to track me down i was really worried so i investigated before i kept playing and what i found out was terrible so this is the first game i ever rejected because of that extremely violent content, it crossed the line and i hope they fix this on a patch perhaps.… Expand

It's such a journey mixed of sarcasm, hatred, vengeance and forgiveness. It tells that the story doesnt just revolve in the central characters. It tells you that everybody has their cause and that nakes the story so complicated yet epic. Thank you Naughty Dog, I'm so thrilled on whats next for Ellie's realistic journey.… Expand

I find it interesting that most people who scored the game 0/10 pretty much had nothing to say except for that they hate women with muscles, that Ellie happens to like another woman, or that there is no character development at all. Makes me wonder if they actually played the game from start to finish or if they just jumped up on the hate train. Here is my take as a person who absolutely loved the first game and have been waiting patiently for the second part. And boy do they start with a kick to your gut. I read that the story is a lot darker than the last one, and it sure is.

    People talk about character development as if it's supposed to go from one extreme to the other, but only from bad to good, from immature to experienced, from follower to leader. And for parts of TLOU2, that is true. Abby, first introduced as the person we're supposed to hate, who killed Joel, goes from a cold, rational, revenge seeking woman to some who starts to emphasize with people who are supposed to be her enemies. Her story with Lev is one of my favourite parts, and really shows how she went from killing enemy kids to doing everything she can to protect 2 strangers.

    Ellie on the other hand goes from having it all, friends, a "father", a safe home and even a blossoming relationship to slowly descending into the madness of revenge, willing to give up her happiness and future in the pursuit of what she perceives as salvation. Whether people like it or not, that too is character development. In a way, they switched places over the course of the story. Did my alignment change as well? I can't say. All I can say though is that the last fight **** broke my heart, in the best way possible that a game could achieve. What else is there to say? I loved the story, the fighting is awesome (same concepts as the last one but adding in the option to play zombies and enemies against each other is amazing, the music really manages to capture the feel and the graphics, well, it's Naught Dog. Was I annoyed at the fact that I suddenly had to play as my enemy after the first act? Sure. But that didn't deter me from finishing the game, and I sure am glad I didn't.

    Overall I can say that this game tugged my heartstrings just like the first one did, and it greatly saddens me that people can't get over their own bigotry and enjoy the game for what it is. But if you're gonna be upset at women with big muscles, sure, skip this one. But if you do decide to play it, I promise it will be worth it.    … Expand

    Terrible story that relies on cheap shock value, messy pacing, uninteresting new characters, treats the characters in the first game like garbage, and an insultingly unsatisfactory ending. Gameplay is just about the same as the first with no innovation what so ever, which can be boring at times. I have no interest in this franchise any more after this disappointing sequel.

    Having just played Part 1 before finishing Part 2, I would have to say they are both equally amazing. It would seem people are romanticizing Part 1 so much they never gave Part 2 a chance.

    Part 2 was clearly a segue to Part 3. People need to relax for a minute before they write such angry reviews in mass that Part 3 is never made based on a false notion from Internet trolls.

    A lot of issues I've noticed are centred around the story. Whether you love or hate this game depends really on if you get on board with the narrative direction the story takes the player.

    Naughty Dog make some extremely bold choices and I have to say I understand why people take issue with the story.

    For me though it was perfect...

We were lied to, we thought Ellie was the protagonist but she wasn't, that Joel is part of the game but he wasn't. Even with these aside, the story is pretty messed up, a dangerous and dark thing as revenge was not portrayed as accurately as one could think. I only enjoyed the graphics, and the parts of the gameplay where I was playing with Ellie until it got repetitive and boring. Playing with Abby was the worst part, I was just speed-runnig throughout it all.… Expand

Despite all the mithical atmosphere you play in, all the good fight mechanics and swiftness of animations, all the risky yet brave plot, all the effort to bring the answers we all asked after playing the first game; there were some weaknesses. Some of the highly impactful and effective characters we see in the story are incomplete and wasted of their potential. The world emerges and expands much much bigger than the first game but it causes to lose the strands that ties the story at some parts. The acting is unshakably strong and polished thanks to the brilliant developers, the precious Ashley Johnson, Troy Baker, Laura Bailey, all the executives and the director and co-writer of the game; Neil Druckmann and all the team made this possible working at Naughty Dog. There are space to criticise and sincere thanks for everyone who is considerate and open hearted. I wish you keep making great games further.… Expand

    This game does a great job of making you see things from other perspectives. Everyone hates Abby for killing Joel but what Joel did at the end of the first Last of Us was worse. Abby killed the man who destroyed the best chance of getting a vaccine. Abby isn't perfect and there was no reason for her to torture Joel and she did some bad things in hers past as well but she is not the bad guy.    … Expand

Not gonna lie, the ending could have been summed up in a bow. Monsters should have tripled in the overall game. This game was good for me- i agree some story choices made couldve been better handled- but overall i gave it a 8.5 which you cant give here- i played it as i loved the first one being my favourite game eever and i want to day that eventhough certain things didnt do it for me most of the game was satisfying and im glad i played it- loved it but not as much as the first one! I think that the game does what it said- divide people and therefore i respects everyone views so please respect each other too!

    J'ai été très déçu par cette suite. Tout d'abord au niveau du rythme, là où le premier épisode m'avait aspiré dans un déluge d'émotions d'entrée de jeu, avec sa mise en scène au service d'une intrigue extrêmement bien construite et crédible, tlou2 m'a endormi. Le début du jeu nous confisque les commandes du personnage pendant un très long moment, une grande frustration liée au fait queJ'ai été très déçu par cette suite. Tout d'abord au niveau du rythme, là où le premier épisode m'avait aspiré dans un déluge d'émotions d'entrée de jeu, avec sa mise en scène au service d'une intrigue extrêmement bien construite et crédible, tlou2 m'a endormi. Le début du jeu nous confisque les commandes du personnage pendant un très long moment, une grande frustration liée au fait que l'histoire et les dialogues ne m'ont pas captivé une seule seconde. Je n'ai pas retrouvé la force de la complicité entre Elie et Joel du premier épisode, qui avait été amenée progressivement. Nous avions vu les personnages évoluer, leur caractère s'adapter, leur cœur s'ouvrir, c'est tout cet ensemble qui rendait le duo extrêmement attachant au milieu d'un contexte extraordinaire de crédibilité grâce aux graphismes et à la mise en scène.

    Mais ce qui a définitivement gâché mon expérience avec cette suite c'est le gameplay absolument identique au premier. Sauf qu'à l'époque je ne savais pas ce qu'était un open world, les capacités de la ps3 étaient parfaitement exploitées malgré les ressemblances flagrantes avec la série uncharted, ce qui pour moi était accrocheur c'était l'histoire et les phases de combats ultra nerveuses et riches en subtilité en fonction des adversaires. Ce rythme exploration / combat, certes répétitif était suffisamment stimulant car entre coupé de scènes bouleversantes mettant en œuvre les personnages et faisant avancer l'histoire vers l'inconnu, il y avait du suspense ! Dans cette suite, l'alternance exploration / combat est d'un profond ennui car l'histoire est pompeuse d'une part, de l'autre avec la puissance de la ps4 j'attendais beaucoup plus d’interaction avec l'environnement sans souhaiter pour autant un monde ouvert, mais j'attendais une cohérence ! Si je peux grimper ce mur ici pourquoi pas là ?! Si je peux ramper sous cette voiture, pourquoi pas celle là ?! Si je peux casser les vitres des voitures, pourquoi ne pas y insérer des mystères ? Quel intérêt alors ?!

    Mon sentiment a été de me sentir verrouillé complètement dans ce jeu, sauf dans les phases de combat très bien réalisées et améliorées. Mais je ne supporte plus de voir mon personnage forcé de marcher quand je veux le faire courir, qu'on me dise où regarder (L3 !), qu'on me dise quand le danger arrive où quand il n'y a plus de danger avec une parole d'un compagnon de route. Je ne supporte plus tous ces triangles dans le décor pour me dire quoi faire en permanence.

    Ce jeu vous prive de l'essentiel du gameplay : la tension. L'histoire a beau être extrêmement violente, il n'y a aucune tension ! Pourquoi ? Parce qu'on sait qu'il ne peut rien nous arriver SAUF durant une phase de combat, à savoir à un moment où l'on sait qu'on va mourir car notre barre de vie nous le signale. Pour être sous pression il faudrait nous lâcher la grappe avec les signaux, les flèches pour nous dire quoi faire et nous serions immergés totalement dans le jeu, nous chercherions avec NOS yeux, nous écouterions avec NOS oreilles et nous aviserions avec NOS réflexes. Il faudrait cesser de segmenter le jeu en phases, en périodes explicitement insérées dans le temps, mais laisser le combat arriver n'importe quand, l’exploration exister que par la volonté du joueur.

    Ce jeu nous conditionne à ne rien attendre, il anéantit tout désir d'être surpris car il éteint par son gameplay d'entrée la possibilité d'être surpris. Par conséquent il n'y a en réalité pas de véritable phase d'exploration. Explorer c'est chercher, c'est faire une démarche, c'est un acte volontaire. Dans ce jeu on détruit cette liberté d'action, on donne la becquée au joueur, tout est maché il n'a plus qu'à avaler. Ce jeu se fond dans le décor de notre société qui habitue les jeunes et les gens en général à aimer ne pas penser. Comme les émissions débiles dont la masse dira qu'elle sait que c'est débile mais que ça fait du bien de pas se prendre la tête. Comme les gros block buster au cinéma qui ne sont que des clones les uns des autres, sans surprise, juste là pour le défoulement vide d'âme. Et uncharted est parfaitement placé dans ce type d'expérience. Sauf que The last of us était épargné car son histoire et son gameplay (pour l'époque) apportait un réalisme visuellement mais surtout dans les rapports humains. D'où la naissance d'émotions véritables chez le joueur.

    The last of us part 2, ce n'est pas simplement une histoire ratée comme je lis partout, c'est surtout un gameplay daté dissimulé sous un sublime visuel.

    S'il devait y avoir une suite sur ps5 j'ose espérer que l'expérience serait autre chose qu'un assemblage de couloirs d'exploration et de combats et qu'on utilise enfin la puissance pour nourrir le gameplay...    … Expand

    Awful and too long gameplay. You just shoot all enemies on level, or was lucky to just run away without getting damage on this stupid, hard to open doors. After 15 hours i just tire to play it. Plot is terrible, especially Abby's line, it just useless for story. Only ending was strong, i think lot of people did't understand it, but it can't save whole game.

I see a lot of people hate on this game and honestly while playing i was one of them, but the way they break you and then give you closure is something on a whole another level.

    Game play is absolutely mind blowing, they did a very good job of improving from the previous game. Some old mechanics are also improved and overall the game feel more dynamic on how you can do thing and engage enemies.

    The story is something that a lot of people are hating specially last of us fans. But in order to feel more than hate you have to connect to the characters in a deeper level. I also hate some characters because of the story but particularly connecting to Ellie is the goal, if you want to understand the beauty of the game. Spoiler: I cried before Ellie started crying at a point and i am not the kind of guy that cries at anything, that is how beautiful the story is written, Also the games story has a big impact from the previous game so definitely recommend refreshing that before playing this.

    Characters were a mix for me. The original characters were written very well especially Ellie and Joel, but other characters had some poor energy with the game.But the development of the characters were pretty good if i am being honest. its just the characters without development were just a bit off. Also the story for Abby was not very strong unless you understand a few things about her. Her story was a bit weak but the development makes up for that. Also her motivation was not that appealing to me.

    All in all this game is master piece and i can't hate it, even though i want to very much. Just a heads up i didn't get a good night sleep after some traumas in the game. Its not for the weak hearted and definitely do not recommend for people suffering from depression. But its a beauty that need praise.    … Expand

    El juego es excelente en prácticamente todos los aspectos, lo que tiene la parte 2 es que sirve únicamente para darte la presentación a Abby y que si es que llega a ver otro juego ella seria la protagonista.

    El recorrido que se tiene con Ellie no es malo pero la verdad que es bastante aburrido, las mejores partes del juego se las lleva Abby incluyendo el boss.

    Did not play the first game. Listened to both the hype and the critics and wated to make my own choice. Brought the game, played it for two days. Gave up on it as it only seemed to get worse. Took the game back and got a refund.

    Gran juego. Naughty dog arriesgo mucho en esta obra, por eso puede entenderse ciertas criticas negativas. Por otro lado, los apartados técnicos, de diseño, sonido etc están al tope de la generación. La historia tiene partes criticables pero no hacen a la interrupción del disfrute de esta obra.

    3.Атмосфера 10/10. О да! Как же великолепно выполнена атмосфера Пост-Апокалипсиса,когда даже самый слабый противник(Бегун) Тут предастовляет опасность(На максимальной ложности если что) Когда ты дорожишь каждым патроном в обойме-Это Классно!
    4.Геймплей 10/10. Геймплей по сравнению с первой частью сильно не поменялся,но есть и свои отличия 1.Это Уклонения на L1, теперь стало значительно удобней сражаться с противниками. 2. Это то что можно ползать ,Это довольно удобно в стелсе.

Instead I was left utterly deluded and feeling so empty that to be honest this has gone down as my biggest disappointment in over 20 years of gaming! Buyers regret and the ripped off feeling i am living with are the harsh reality of expecting more from this pile of steaming garbage. To the critic reviewers I ask you this. How much were you paid to write positive reviews? To Druckman & Naughty dog, I hope you learn a valuable lesson to not spit in the face of your fans ever again.     The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
