    It was the best game I played in my life, instead of writing an optimistic story like other companies, they wrote a story in a fearless way and adapted it to the game in the best possible way. It was a top game in every way, thanks to Naughty Dog for this unique adventure.

    The Last of Us 2 ist ein tolles Spiel. Meine Erklärung dazu ist, das in diesem Spiel sachen passieren die nicht jedem gefallen werden, aber notwendig sind um die Story des ersten Teils weiter zuentwicklen. Auch viele sachen die man im Spiel gemacht hat kommen zwar bei vielen nicht gut an, aber sie sind trotz dem gut gewählt um abwechslung in das Spiel ineinzubringen.

The gameplay is excellent, kneading enemies with a pipe is simply gorgeous. The sounds are very cool and nice and the soundtrack is great. for me this is a favorite game, and the lgbt game did not spoil me at all. I don't understand the controversy around it, people are mad that Ellie didn't kill Abby, but when I reached the end I was hoping she didn't. I was so relieved when Ellie pulled her head out of the water. The game did a great job at making you feel symphaty for Abby. The graphics are excellent, I loved the gameplay, but what impressed me the most was the random details and polish. The animations feel so natural, the transitions between cutscene and gameplay were amazing, and much more. This game was amazing… Expand

    I've heard all the negative reviews and can understand why some people are upset at the direction this game took but something drastic had to happen. Life isn't always peaches and cream and damn did this game hit me in the gut.
    It was a good pain though because it made me realise I love Joel that much more and he'll always be there in Part 1. Maybe we can have a prequel of the time Joel and Tommy were on their own or a sequel showing what happens after Abbey finds the Fireflies. Either way, this game is an amazing work of art.    … Expand

    Apart from great animations, character interactions, graphics, the game drags you through a realistic, crude world where pity is non existent. Personally, I think reality would not be far from this.
    Naughty dog slapped us in the face repeatedly during the story, and never in a kind way. Every loved character death (starting with the first, the most important) contributed to build up Ellie's character, and it's even more poignant when we see the final cut scene.
    The search for revenge, rage driven vendetta that consumes both the protagonists more and more during the story makes us see how their stories are just parallel lines.
    There is no right or wrong part: Joel, Ellie and Abby have light and dark aspects in their motivations, and that's what i loved the most.
    To me, the conclusion could not be anything else than what it is. Ellie, finally interrupting the circle of violence that Joel started in the first part. And finally, letting him go. I just loved it, a depressing, realistic
    masterpiece that make some bold plot decisions but works them all out in the end.
    Personally i see no use in the critiques to Joel's early death, yes it hurt, but it was necessary.
    About the critiques to Abby's appearance... I have no words for the ignorance of some people. If you want to play a game just to see hot chicks, play something else because this is not it. Also, her physique is not "on steroids". Women can be buff, especially contextualized to her role where she obviously trains a lot.
    And about the critique on Lev's character, I find them so stupid too. Making him a trans character doesn't ruin anything and if you have a problem with it for the simple reason he's part of LBGT then maybe you should try and be less of an ****
    If I have to find a flaw in the game I'd say that some parts of the game were a little bit tedious, but nothing that can make my opinion change.    … Expand

Definitely the best story and writing I’ve ever ever experienced in a video game. 100/10 would recommend to anyone but don’t let the tragic events early in the game turn you off of it they make a strong comeback in the 2nd and 3rd act. Play this one people!! The only gripe I have about this game is how they did my boy Joel like I understand what they were trying to do but still it hurts to not have him.… Expand

    I don't know why people get upset about the story, It was completely well developed. The story gave us a full view of every character, the happy life of Joel after Part I, and a great vengeance story for both characters Ellie and Abby. The loss, the pain, and the emotion showed in the game are even better than any movie. For those expecting me to talk trash about this game and what happened to Joel, I'm afraid I'm gonna have to disappoint y'all because I really do see The Last of Us Part 2 as a masterpiece and dare I say better than the first. Right off the bat, I can start off by saying even if I never played this game and don't know how to defend it, the way how people decided to talk trash about it and sending death threats to Neil Druckmann and Laura Bailey is honestly all I need since at that rate, you're just being just like Abby and will just be ignored. But I can understand y'all don't like the game but that's what I want to go over
    1. Joel's death: So people nowadays say Joel was disrespected since there's no way he'd reveal his name to a bunch of strangers and lower his guard to allow himself to die so easily and quickly. So right off the bat, Abby was always going to kill him even if no one else in that room knew since Tommy already spilled out both of their names earlier so it didn't matter Joel said his name again. Secondly, I would argue he WASN'T killed off so cheaply when he lowered his guard like that since that's exactly what happens when a man has lived 4 years with everything he ever wanted, a girl he considered his daughter, a home full of security, a place where he's seen as a hero for crying out loud, or even the fact he's trusted strangers before like Henry and Sam. Plus, there's even how he doesn't scream or beg for mercy, he knows what's about to happen and never regrets it to the end and he's all around the game, just not the priority.
    2. The games characters: people say that you could replace these characters for someone else and it wouldn't make a difference, so right off the bat, I can agree with that statement ONLY for Manny, Owen, Jesse, Yara, and Mel; everyone else I would argue are on par with Part 1's amazing cast. Like I found Lev relatable and I was glad he stayed with Abby to be the Joel and Ellie we missed in the first game, Dina was surprisingly good at her role since I actually prefer her relationship arc over Ridley's when she supports Ellie and then decides to leave her since all what she saw in her at the time was a druggie who couldn't quit, Tommy failing to accept "enough was enough", and while I didn't care Owen and Mel died since their characters weren't fleshed out enough for me to, I was shocked to see them call out on Abby and telling the truth to her face revealing they couldn't take it when she decided vengeance is the key way to make things right just like Jesse and Dina (kinda) did to Ellie.
    3: Claiming the game was sponsering SJW and the LGBTQ+ community: right off the bat, people who put this arguement don't even know what they're saying since the reason Abby is this muscular is because she chose to workout constantly for the pursuit of Joel over Owen and her friends
    4:Pacing is terrible: right off the bat, I'm not arguing with that since the story was absolutely all over the place and something I actually pointed out in my "The Last of Us Remastered" review but there's also how this drags on a little too long but that honestly never bothered me since at least it wasn't as bad as Days Gone and I wanted to see how it could come to a proper end
    5: Terrible ending: So I can understand what people mean by this when Ellie spares Abby but at the same time, those people weren't paying attention since throughout the entire game, Ellie feels like she had her purpose taken away from her when Joel saved her from that hospital and that her life is meaningless and that's what drives people to do horrible things like Ellie going after Abby one last time, but the real reason Joel saved her is because she believed her life has a purpose and he wants her to live to her best which is why he said he'd save her all over again if given another chance, and when Ellie was drowning Abby, she saw Joel not beaten up, but with their last conversation meaning she realizes that Joel wouldn't want her to throw away that life by some pointless vengeance and by sparing Abby, that's how she truly honors Joel.
    So that's all the "negatives on this game" but there is an overwhelming amount of positives here like the improved shooting and gameplay allowing gameplay and combat to be way more satisfying than the first game and when I died, it felt fair and not cheated, next gen visuals even for a base PS4 (like no joke, this game looks genuinely incredible), excellent actor performances (especially props to Troy Baker and Laura Bailey), and immersive soundtrack. Overall, while I don't know if you will enjoy this game based off of what happened, I can definitely I strongly recommend it if you can ignore the pacing issues.    … Expand

I was heartbroken, enthralled, angry, sad, depressed, hopeful andA masterpiece in every sense of the word. Every story beat while jarring and unforgiving when it happens, ultimately leads to a cathartic and meaningful conclusion. I was heartbroken, enthralled, angry, sad, depressed, hopeful and ultimately at peace with where this game led me. In fact, I was glad and truly moved. This is the greatest narrative put in a video game but not just as a passive gamer but the narrative is actively engrained in a gamer’s experience of this game. I did things I didn’t want to do but I felt what the character I was controlling felt. I have never felt like this before in a video game. This game is a masterpiece not because of the story but how it chooses to tell us the story. It is truly masterful and a giant leap in storytelling in any medium.     I went into this game without reading any reviews, but I did play part 1. Though I did hear that opinions were very mixed. You either loved it, or hated it. The first hour of the game didn't feel like something i'd love. Lots of talk, and little to no action. I thought, if the rest of the game is like this then no thanks. But pretty soon you got into the familiar gameplay of part 1 which II went into this game without reading any reviews, but I did play part 1. Though I did hear that opinions were very mixed. You either loved it, or hated it. The first hour of the game didn't feel like something i'd love. Lots of talk, and little to no action. I thought, if the rest of the game is like this then no thanks. But pretty soon you got into the familiar gameplay of part 1 which I loved. Switching to other playable characters was confusing and frustrating at first but later I grew more attached to the characters. The reason why I give this game a 10 is exactly because of the different way of playing the game by switching into the role of the 'enemy' and seeing that there is no such thing as a 'good guy / girl and bad guy / girl'. Being good or bad is all relative and the classic view portrayed in movies and games of 'good versus bad' is drawn to a more realistic level in this game. The story might not be as 'grand' as part 1 where your 'goal' was to save the world with a cure, but everything that happened made sense and felt natural to real life. And switching to the 'enemy' side story is a brilliant piece of art in my opinion as you get to see how things are from their point of view and how they see you as evil. Everyone is right and wrong at the same time. If you want a classic game where the 'hero' is immortal and always good and the enemies are always 'bad guys' and 'pure evil' and you don't want that view shattered, then this is not the game for you. But if you are open to the concept that this games tell more than the characters and are open to see the message that is told here about revenge, pretentiousness, assumptions and how nothing is what is seems, then this game will open a new world for you.     I believe a lot of the negativity is because of a new character that is introduced in this game. She is seen as morally evil by many, and people hate her for something that she did without looking at it from her perspective. If you put yourself in her shoes and imagine her actions from her point of view, she's actually more justified in her actions than the beloved main character (who does much worse things).

    I also believe many people don't like this character because she has a stronger and more masculine build, which unfortunately is unliked by many gamers who want petite and therefore "more pretty" women. Many have shamed her body type and even went so far as to send threats to her voice actress. Clearly, there are deeper issues than gameplay behind the bad reviews.

    Continuing on, the game shows the player that blind rage and seeking revenge is not the right solution to every problem, as it will often lead you nowhere. Many people missed the moral behind the game, however, saying that trying to get vengeance keeps leaving you with nothing. That's the point. The developers want the player to feel that way, many just didn't like how it felt. Looking deeper than the surface is important for the enjoyment of this game, and I am surprised by how many people can't seem to figure it out.

    This game was spectacular. I hope the negative reviews do not drive you away. Even if you think you won't like it, give it a chance. Worst you can do is just put down the controller.    … Expand

    The game hurt me, but then calmed me down a bit. Then again half the game pissed me off, but that's exactly what she wanted. leave me depressed and appreciate bad emotions. I don’t think the game is perfect, but for me it brought enough emotions.

    The Last of Us Part 2 is the ultimate PlayStation 4 game. It is an incredible game in terms of both graphics quality, animation quality and game mechanics. It cannot be denied that there are problems with the story progression and the ending. But the theme of the story is 'hate' and the game does that very well. The Last of Us Part 2 is not a bad game.

    The new mechanics and approaches to fighting, looting and simply exploring are outstanding, as you feel you have so much more freedom than before.
    The graphics are simply out of this world, as you can feel not only the environment around, but you can feel you are in the environment. It was also a trademark of the first game, but in this one, with all the tech advances, you can say that there is almost none (if none actually) difference between a cutscene and the gameplay itself.
    The plot itself is also incredible, teaching us life messages on and on. It makes us feel what the characters feel, seek what they seek more than anything, but gives us, as "the third person" in the story, the chance to see whats right and wrong, which culminates in the understanding of the game itself. It makes the player stick to the game in order to see what's next and as a groundbreaking and cinematic experience as it is, it's a roller coaster of feelings and emotions.
    It is such an engaging experience that we can feel rage, hate, fear and happiness, all of that in one of the best, if not the best video game created until this date.    … Expand

I played the first one back on PS3 and bought this one about a year or so ago and just got around to playing it(wife and I had a baby so been a little busy). I was very impressed by seeing what happened through the eyes of the main villain, whom we were chasing throughout the whole game, getting to know his friends and family and justifying him. It left me so helpless to agree with both Ellie and Abby. But the finale was great for me. There is nothing to criticize in the gameplay part. All NPCs have a character, name and friends. That's incredible. Graphics and other elements were way ahead of their time. On top of that, the game was dubbed in Turkish and I really loved it!     I understand many people have so much to say about this game, in negative ways, yes.
    I am also disappointed with some parts of the game but it does not make me rate this game lower than score 10. This is visual masterpiece. The story plot was amazing. I don't say it's good or bad.
    It was something beyond rating it good or bad, it was great. It's worth playing eventhough you might hate it.

A připadnemi že hráči kteří této hře dali špatné hodnocení jen kvůli tomu že Joel byl zabit za cca 2 hodiny v příběhu nebo že Ellie je lesba tak jsou opravdu hloupí a trapní. Protože je normální že nějaká hlavní postava nebo oblíbená postava umře a nebo že je jinak orientovaná.

    This game change my life, many games trying to convey an experience like this where we put in the character's place and feel the same thing that Ellie felt and how it ended up with him following the path he chose but deep down still There was kindness in the ellie of the first the last of us but it seems that some people have forgotten that.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I believe if Naughty Dog made a classical revenge story with a couple of dead characters at the end. user Score will be 9 out of 10. That will be a safe story with a classic Hollywood vibe.

    But this game was nothing like we have ever see. It was complex storytelling with a successful revenge plot. The game perfectly explains the consequences of actions. The cost of revenge. It was a bold move to put people into Abby's perspective. It explains the concept of "every story has two sides" perfectly.

    After I finish the game. It stuck to me while sitting at home. It was a very powerful game.
    I hope the Overall User score with a lot of "Simple story lovers" did not affect the Naughty Dog creative team. hope to see Great stories like this.    … Expand

    I just love this game.

    It brings sadness, love, hate, anger, empathy and regret right up in your face in a way I have never seen in a video game before, and in few other types of media too.
    I suspect a story told in this way would not have worked as well in other types of media, and that makes it very special.

    Tlou2 is like a philosophy art, emotions , what game try to understand... and the gameplay is awesome. When you play it , you feel like you are in the game. you scare when you hear guns, clickers. Don't care about people who don't like the history. They are who don't love philosophical things

    The best game I've ever played so far the the characters just feel real they r alive this game literally broke my heart the story is something else the compat is so real it feels like playing a movie it's on a higher level than other games they nailed it

    Even better than its prequel (didn't think that was even possible). If the first one is a story about the humanization of Joel, this one is about Ellie's fall into an abyss of loss, despair and vengeance.
